Sorry, missed another piece of news out that Glenda will move to Spurs if Redknapp remains in charge for around 12M, but to the plewasure of FSG who have baulked at his 112,000 a week wages. YOZLFC

Why would spurs want him when Kyle Walker made
Team of the year??

Barry 4256

Stop pretending to be itk and get a life. do you have nothing better to do than sit in a dar room and make sh*t up ?

Glen Johnson would not get the same money at Spurs.

Think about it, they've only last year broke the wage structure to keep Modric at the club by offering him £100,000 a week in wages.

How could they afford to justify Glenn Johnson's wagers, when they have possibly a better player in Kyle Walker?

I think Man City or even Chelsea (who have let Bosinwa leave and Ivanovic is interesting other clubs), might be interested? As well as Real Madrid possibly.

BR has come out and said he rates glen, loves the way he bombs down the wings and attacks the goal, can't see him leaving, seems a lot want him to go tho, very strange

Sell him, buy someone else, and give give someone else the wage surplus

Definite interest in Rasmus Elm, Roberto Soldado, and now in Siggurdson but not definite despite rumours.
Also as I said months ago NO Isla deal on the cards as I know he will move elsewhere in Spain or France in the coming weeks and LFC knew he was'nt interested in a move when KK was in charge.
Suspect a move for another right sided EPL player is about to bear fruit.

YOZLFC

I thought the elm fee had been agreed

I work for a major newspaper in the sports department, and I know as much as most of you will well know that 99% of the news is nonsense, but what we are getting is a lot of news between Liverpool and Soldado. I suppose its too early to tell if there's any truth to this but I sure hope so, Spurs also been mentioned to be interested, which is news to me. Wont go on into too many details but apparently there's been talks going on this week, ed's do you know anything about this?

Name the newspaper. That way if the story breaks out we will know if you are telling the truth...

I was believing it until you asked the ed's. If you work for a paper you will not need confirmation from guys who are likely to know less that you.

Judging by your comment, I doubt very much that you work for any newspaper!

What newspaper?

Which major news paper employs people who don't know how to write properly?

The s*n {Ed016's Note - To be honest, we don't post links to other sites. Especially not this one.}

You guys can think im full of it means nothng to me.. Just sharing what i know. {Ed016's Note - To work for a newspaper you need to be able to write.}

In all fairness Ed it is the "s*n" doubt any of them can write properly anyway. {Ed016's Note - I just hate how much they lie, all of them, for their own agendas. takes a special kind of coward}

Are you sure you dont work in the sports department of a store ?

The way your post is written, you must work for an extremely poor newspaper.

More likely he delivers the morning papers.

Not everyone who works for a national newspaper needs an English Language degree.
Not everyone who works for a national newspaper writes or edits the stories.

Again all ill say is it means nothing to me whether you believe me or not lol but I do work for a major newspaper, not my fault if you don't believe it, and I don't write any stories nor do I edit anything, I think some of you have no idea how many people are employed in different sectors you really think everybody who are employed for newspapers are writing articles and editing etc? do you think everybody also employed has a degree? lol some thick people here I must say. {Ed002's Note - Do you commute from Hull everyday.}

"Which major news paper employs people who don't know how to write properly?"

Most of them I think :-)

My guess is he's a cleaner at the Liverpool daily post

Now that's just not fair on the cleaner.

It could be he's employed by the Daily Dyslexic?

Liverpool set to move for Matt Phillips for around £6mil from Blackpool. Brendan Rogers was scouting him for Swansea, and was set to bid before he was appointed Liverpool manager. Seen as a cheaper option than Adam Johnson, thus freeing up funds for a top forward. Mario Gomez and Luuk De Jong amongst top targets.

Sniper

Why would you want mario gomez. i know he has a good goalscoring record in germany but he misses soo many chances and often goes hiding, also for the price he'll be at ill taake de jong before him every time. perhaps i am the only person who see's him for what he is ?

I thought Phillips was awful in the play off final, the not standard of player we need

In my opinion Gomez is currently the best striker in the world

Average player at best. No thanks!

08 Jun 2012 21:02:45
Could liverpool sign llorente is he of interest and who else is interested {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Spurs, PSG and Manchester City. Barcelona are considering their future options which may involve a move for the player.}

08 Jun 2012 20:28:18
Hi Eds, what do you think of Dempsey and our chances of getting him. {Ed002's Note - I am told that Dempsey will come up for sale there will certainly be interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Spurs and a couple of German sides. Age and cost has to be a consideration of course.}

08 Jun 2012 19:43:39
what are the chances of getting benzema or doumbia? {Ed002's Note - Slim to say the least.}

Eds - any chance you can create a Fantasy Football Rumours option, as obviously there are a few people who must be using this site for the purpose of building their fantasy team for next season? LOL

Benzema - "Yeah, I'm bored of winning stuff at Real Madrid, playing in front of adoring fans at the Bernabeau & living in Spain. I know, I'll move to the North West of England, take a wage cut & try my luck there"!

Apparently Liverpool are closing in on Fulham duo
Dembelee and Dempsey, reported deal to be in the region of £30million for the pair.

Fulham also set to be interested in Spearing and the loaning of Coady and Shelvey.

Any news on this EDs ?

LTP {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

30 million .What peanut , 15million the two no more . Cheers psv

Shame, Dembele would be a good signing

Your on cloud cuckoo mate, after all the problems with us spending big money last year you really think we will spend this much...Dempsey is only worth £8m tops with his contract running down so that leaves £22m for Dembelee....Never in a million years...
Liverbird09

Yes silly season is here

No way are those 2 players worth £30 million. Not in a million years.

I thought after last season we would have learned about paying well over the odds.

Gaz1975.

I'll have what your smoking

Id be really sad if shelvey is not in BR first team this season... We need to use the talents we have, atleast he shows some passion on the field...

We really do get some crackpots on here don't we?

£30,000,000, behave.

That would be crappy 30m... Id rather go for the players in the post below...

I would love to see clint Dempsey at Liverpool, he can play out wide and as that deep lying forward he plays so well. With kuyt just gone he is a ideal replacement. This has been our real problem when people have left we have not really replaced them, mascherano, alonso, torres.... Ok lucus i think will be a monster of a player next season....

Dempsey has Better all round play compared to kuyt plus the adaptability to play in different positions. Plus HE CAN SCORE GOALS. only like to spend 6mill though especially if we have a tight budget....

You have lost the plot.

Wind your neck in mate. £30m!! You could buy the Fulham team for that amount!

30m? fulham have openly stated that dempsey is available for 4m...this makes dembele a 26m player?? that means im worth 8m!

Liverbird09 you do know we paid over 20m for henderson, and dembele is a much better player....not that either of them are worth that much. also i dont know why everyone is so negative about dempsey, he is a very good footballer and would be a snip at 6-8m
Lee

Shelvey is Stevies replacement,he wont be loaned out again. Spearing possibly or sold.
As for Dempsey Arsenal bound. only worth 2-4M imo.
Lee73

They both have 1 year left on their contracts

30 million quid could buy the whole team. Are you insane?

£30 mil for them two wow nearly had to call the paramedics

£30 million for those two? Ha ha ha. You are either stoned or drunk.

Hah i hear were set to bid for emile heskey too !

30 mil is a joke an so is the person who thinks shelvy is stevie gs replacement get a grip son if any one gonna emulate him dont ya think they would have shown signs by now. Gerrard showed it from 18 is jonjo gonna start now few years behind tha. Br has my full support no matter who he signs he will shine guarantee it. Red jay s {Ed016's Note - Gerrard didn't show it when he was 18 lad. He had potential. He really didn't become a powerhouse until 03/04 maybe the season before that. But Jonjo could easily break out next year given sufficient chances, he is obviously too good for reserve football anymore.}

Fair enuff eds you have point. But lets see in couple years time when shelvy playin for west ham or sutin lets see if yas remember them comments then. He will never be gerrard

By sayin showed it eds how do you think i ment anything other than his potential you assumed i meant ability as you said became powerhouse but jonjo has not shown ability gerrard did he is not a replacement for gerrard

To be fair, Gerrard was being played far more frequently in comparison to Jonjo, albeit on the right. I still remember Houllier talking about how Stevie needed to knuckle down & sort out his attitude. Wouldn't recognise him as the same player now, would you?

Rich P

I agree Gerrard, showed far more potential than Shelvey. I remember being on the Kop for his first game and you could tell he would become world class. The same (at the moment) can definately not be said of Shelvey. Dembele is a much better player, would be a good signing but probably not worth more than 15 mill.

Cant believe this for one minute,30m for two players who are 30 .

I really feel sorry for the fans that cant see shelveys talent... Not his fault he hasnt been given a fair shot at a first team place, and was a bit unlucky when he got the chance... U should really watch him play for the national youth teams, or even back when he was playing for charlton... He has tremendous passing, he wants to be on the ball and take control. He believes in his own abilitys and so should you guys... He plays with a maturity that is very rare for his age.... Couple years he is the heartbeat of our midfield if given a fair chance. Sry for rantiing, just had to say
NorwegianRed

Lol, is shelvey the next one in the bashing line now? I think alot of u guys forget that he is 19 years of age... And gerrard beeing world class at 18? Stevie is one of my all time fav, but seriously guys dont write s**t u dont have clue about.... And to say that shelvey dont show potential, well... Dont think i need to say more. Only cause he is poor at fifa dosnt meen he is in real life.... Support our players, dont trash them...

And where exactly did we get 30 million to spend on players like them?

08 Jun 2012 18:14:01
hi eds, liiverpool scouted milan badelj some time ago, but then we never heard anything else... Does this means we didnt like what we saw? I dont understand how a player like him plays for zagreb, surerly he would fit well in a pass and move style of play like BR.... And if glen johnson is to be sold, could sime vrsaljko be an option? I know he is still very young, but he will be world class imho and he is alot better than kelly.... U know whats up with kovacic, any clubs talking with him? Im sorry for the croatian fever, but im from zagreb and have watch them alot, im certain that badelj and vrsaljko is ready for the big stage, and wouldnt be to expensive and low wages... These player wont play long for zagreb, and if they leave, id loove to see them play for the other team i support...

Have a great day all reds, good times ahead... We need to trust and support BR and the owners... They know how to make winning teams

cheers croatian red {Ed002's Note - Dinamo Zagreb's Milan Badelj has been looked at by Liverpool, Lazio and Spurs but Palermo are keen to push for a deal as soon as possible. It has also been suggested that there is interest from Locomotiv Moscow and Fiorentina.

Manchester City, Leverkusen and Roma have shown an interest in Vrsaljko.

The situation with Kovacic is rather more complicated. Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Juventus, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and no doubt others have an interest in Dinamo Zagreb's Kovacic. Last summer, Barcelona offered up a small financial payment for Kovacic on what I understand to be an 8 year deal with the first two years contracted to Zagreb followed by a six year deal with Barcelona. This would have "overcome" a number of issues with the regulations. However, three clubs have been involved in very recent and ongoing discussions with Dinamo (who have offered Kovacic a professional contract) and the player's representatives and two have put offers up for consideration. A couple of complexities remain, one of which is how much of an opportunity would he have if he moved - which is why he may well remain with Dinamo for an interim period.}

Is liverpool one of the clubs who have talked to kovacic? {Ed002's Note - No.}

This lad likes football manager!!!

Building for the future, i also believe these players would be great... I also believe sime and milan would improve our first 11... Specially badelj is a outstanding player who is good at everything, its a mysterie to me why he isnt higher rated in europe, been extremely consistant for years and is only 22 years of age...

Yes, they are very good, especially Vrsaljko and Kovacic

Padre

08 Jun 2012 18:05:05
Ed do you think Diame's heart condition will stop Liverpool signing him? When he supposedly was to sign under Dalglish had they taken this into account? {Ed002's Note - If it is a major issue then I would suggest the medical staff will advise against signing.}

Demba Ba should be proof enough that sometimes risks are worth taking

08 Jun 2012 17:22:56
ed any chance of signing vargas and mbokani:)
{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich and Roma maintain an interest in Vargas and I would not be surprised if there is interest from Turkey and Russia. A move to Liverpool is not out of the question, but perhaps not a priority. Fulham and Genoa are interested in Dieumerci Mbokani but Anderlecht are not keen on selling.}

08 Jun 2012 17:19:49
Ed Lewandowski any chance? {Ed002's Note - I would think not but Dortmund's Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, Rubin Kazan, Manchester United, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton) and Lille. I very much suspect Bayern Munich would be top of the list with a cheque in hand should he not agree an extension at Dortmund but Dortmund certainly do not want to sell him to BM. The other more viable option is Manchester United. At present they have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal but that does not mean that they won't.}

I fear it's going to be a long few weeks for the Eds... I mean, the guy scores one goal... {Ed016's Note - you know it mate.}

To be fair he has scored 30 goals this season

Lewandowski has been quality all season.

BthekingB

Lewandoski is just another dzeko in my opinoin.

Gman

He is gone to man utd according to poland coach and players

08 Jun 2012 17:18:06
eds are do you think we could sign Ter Stegen from Bor.M'gladbach. He's young,good and would be a good keeper when reina leaves. {Ed002's Note - I doubt he would wish to sit on the bench.}

Ter Stegen is 19 and allready one of the best gk in europe, ud be foolish to think of him as backup...

Yh the post said "when" reina leaves, he's already such a top quality goalkeeper; way better than de gae

08 Jun 2012 17:15:50
Hi

Just wondering what the current situation with Sergio Canales is, are Real just looking to get him first team experience or would they be willing to sell?
Also with Utd looking to sign Ledonowski does that mean they will be looking to offload Chiquarito? {Ed002's Note - Canales missed most of the season with a crutiate injury but remains at Valencia. He is on a loan to buy deal and will not be moving to Liverpool next season. I suspect that the player has no interest in a move away from Spain as demonstrated by the previous interest of Manchester City and Arsenal being rejected.}

We will not be seeing chicharito. after berbatov and owen leave they will only have 3 strikers for the squad and fergie always likes to have 4 strikers so lewandowski makes sense.
redave

Sorry ... signing not seeing *

Is el sharrawey of ac Milan a possibility as he is young strong technically good in possession and dropping deep to create space has he been looked at?
Thanks
Red Clarence {Ed002's Note - PSG and Cologne have an interest in El Shaarawy but I think he will stay a while longer.}

08 Jun 2012 15:57:31
Gets worse on here
Why aren't we trying to sign Hazard etc (another expensive mistake)
Cos we are not going to pay £100k a week let alone £170k
If you want us to be still here in 5 years then let FSG run the club properly. Get the right players at the right price and let Buck do his work.
Hopefully stadium sponsorship to be announced.
Moaners get back to your FiFA and fantasy football and leave the Eds to give us the relevant information.
All the managers and CEOs will be at the Euros and meetings and deals will be going on.
Sit back chill out, and if you don't like it go support a fantasy football team, I'll stick with the one I was born with.
Agree Disagree
PistolPete( the real one )

At last a senisble supporter i'v been posting similar all week but not been posted

Well said,to many idiots throwing names from fifa manager when they should be learning how to spell and articulate what they want to say

Its not sensible, at least say a player who hasnt already been signed as your example

I didn't know they was a fake pistolpete lol
riley

Best post of the day lad.

foginspector

The real pistol pete!!?

Do enlighten us oh great one...

Classic!

I think pistol pete is pistoled off. bit of a silly rant. u might need to review your ammo pete!

About time someone said this!

Gaz1975.

If were still here in 5 years time we still
wont have won the prem. if you want
to compete with the big boys you've
got to act like the big boys if FSG can't
then get out,were getting left behind
bigtime..............

auntie annie.....

Good post.

The likes of Newcastle and Spurs have challenged for top four without paying ridiculous wages to massive egos.

We can do the same.

Well said fella. We have to be realistic.

Rumours stateside gathering pace that CLINT DEMPSEY is of serious interest to Brendan Rogers and LFC

GO LIVERPOOL!
BungusUSA

I hope not

Did you really just say go liverpool??

Leave him alone you bute he's a yank what do you expect him to say, by the way bungus i hope the rumours are true, keep it up stateside.

Please don't be true

God I hope not, Liverpool aiming for the midtable with midtable players.

Just because a player plays for a mid table team, it doesn't make him a mid table player.

Clint dempsey scored 22 goals last year, thats more than double what our midfielders scored all together!

Would be a quality addition a a decent price

Andy

Yes, that's right, let's not buy players who regularly score lots of goals in the Premier League. No, let's buy someone no ones ever heard of, just coz he scored a few goals in France, Turkey or wherever. After all, they must be good, coz I've seen so many posts about them...

If we're working to a tight budget (which, let's face it, we will be), give me proven Premier League experience every time

Rich P

Is this the same mid table team that finished level on points with us last season? I think we need to get real we're not as good as we think we are.

Would be excellent addition. Hope so.

Cheers Bungus, take no notice of that helmet. You Go Liverpool all you want kidda.

Hi Eds!

When can we expect to see some action on LFC's side with regards to transfers? Are we still looking or are we going to be making bids for players anytime soon?

Regards,

P.S I do believe the new coach will take us back to being a force.

Would love to see some new blood soon.

{Ed006's Note - We will sign some players before 31st Aug 11:59 that is for sure.}

Can we not fast forward until august 31st

Giving away that they play in England, Diame and someone else?

If any 1 knows how to fix a flux capacitor they can borrow my delorean
riley

Calm down lad, people moaning we aint signed players. your all stupid weve just signed a new manager give the team time. theres nearly 3 month to sign players
martynlfc

Lmao a force again in ya dreams blue is a far better bet next season tide is changing our way

Ed006 You are a Genius.

08 Jun 2012 15:51:58
Ed what are the chances of Adam Johnson I see alot of people saying we are linked with him on this site but has there been any firm intrest in Adam Johnson?? Would be a quality buy especially after he said he wants to play more regular!

{Ed006's Note - 0}

Hope adam johnson comes to liverpool class player would make a big difference and he would get in the england squad

There certainly are chances he might come to liverpool. maybe Ed 006 is not aware

08 Jun 2012 15:46:05
Rodgers wants Llorente, he is interested in Liverpool and the Premier League, BR sees him suiting the defined striking role he wants in the side more so than Carroll. Reina, Torres and Alonso have put in a good word for us. And Sigurdsson is another one BR wants, deal looks pretty nailed on, but we all know that anyway.

Also Skrtel is being tracked by Man City, we are trying to make him sign on the dotted line for a contract extension. I fear the worst as he may have had his head turned by them but I hope it's just a ploy by his agent to get him a new deal.

{Ed006's Note - The same Torres that left us for Chelsea? The same Torres that said we lied to him? Right I'm sure this is correct now!}

Think ed needs to back off, Torres accused hicks and Gillette for lying to him and we all hated them if you don't remember! And the guy just trying to give his imformation back off not like your always correct. I love the site but please just let people have an opioion for slagging them off. Thanks love the site and the great work you put in it thanks a lot

Let skrtel go, too prone to errors

Ed006 is way of the mark with this one, Llorente has been quoted in the press as saying that Alonso, Reina & Torres have all told him of their enjoyment of playing in England, doubtful he will sign for us, but Torres has had good things to say.

Can people wake up here and realise that Lllorente is a top top striker and if he comes to England it will be to one of top 4 clubs with champs lge football and not liverpool. People seem to be getting blinded by the BR appointment to the fact that we finished 7th or 8th last season about 37 points behind 1st place. Our squad is poor and its going to be difficult for BR to close that gap next year

Dont shoot the messenger lads... Thanks for backing me up a few of you...

Man Utd don't want him, Arsenal won't spend that much on one player, Chelsea are giving Torres and Sturridge a chance this season, Tottenham are interested but what do they have over us and can they afford him?, Man City will not be spending as much as previous years, Newcastle can't afford him. {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Spurs, PSG and Manchester City. Barcelona are considering their future options which may involve a move for the player.}

08 Jun 2012 15:25:43
I believe that the positions we need improving are
A right winger
A left winger
CM back up
Defensive back up
A goalscoring striker

So at the moment it looks like
Sigurdsson
Diame
Soldado or de Jong

Possibilities

Boudebouz
Ramirez
Afellay

Its funny as annually us posters will mention from a pool of about 12 names over and over again and then LFC will go out and buy perhaps 1 of the names but the other 4 or 5 signings will be suprises.

Last year was an anomolly as Macca had it called very early on (Feb/March?) but this year with the new manager coming in so late you can more or less gaurantee that the signings will all be suprises other than young Siggy.

So be prepared for the unexpected.

Big Stiff

@ Big St..

I would agree with you in some respects, but i'm sure Brendan Rodgers will still want to see the work of the Liverpool scouts (dossiers, files and feed back).

Rodgers might like Boudebouz for instance, as well as leaning towards signing Sigurdsson for example.

08 Jun 2012 15:19:55
Everybody saying that we will sign:
1. Pato
2. Erikkson
3. M'vila

We have to be realistic as we are not a major catch for these players at the minute. We should be looking at players like victor Moses. He is more what we can persuade. Given time I believe Brendan Rodgers will take us back to the top.

We already have enough rubbish of his quality !

No1 is saying we will sign those three...
AnfieldUSA

We should be looking at top players and if they turn us down then look elsewhere

Where the f*** did you get them from?

08 Jun 2012 15:19:29
Eds is there any secret nuggets you feel might enhance liverpool this year rather then the same old chestnuts.
Would appreciate a reply.
Many Thanks
genuine fan {Ed002's Note - Junior Vicosa of Gremio has been looked at by someone on behalf of Diego Caniggia whilst out on loan - but I suspect a work permit would not be easy to come by. Perhaps one to watch out for though.}

Aged 22 and not represent national team, don't think he can get work permit

This work permit thing seems to be a bit like russian roulette... I know (roughly) the criteria needed to ensure you get one and yet time and again there seems to be exceptions made (hope it isn't brown envelope land)
Puzzled

Is this a player you've seen on fifa ed? {Ed002's Note - Fine. I certainly will make no such efforts to share anything anymore.}

This will be all over the papers and this site tomorrow as confirmed interest

Thats way it seems to work :-)
Cork:Red

ED002 what is diego cannigia job at liverpool does he work exclusively for us or a number of teams {Ed002's Note - Exclusively for Liverpool.}

Wow wow wow ed002 dont mind that guy, i appreciate u sharing us stuff we dont know. in fact i think lots of ppl do, ignore them who dont.

Kaizer

Ed what do you make of leandro of gremio. he looks like neymar {Ed002's Note - I agree he has a dumb haircut.}

08 Jun 2012 15:12:14
Hello Eds,
to clear up Smuda's words, he said that Lewandowski will join ManU and Kuba will join another EPL club but he didn't say which. Not really sure if it's gonna happen as the coach says a lot of things. But United got Modric and Kagawa already and I thinks it's not over for them. Sad LFC are not doing shopping at the same level as for now. Maybe in July...Cheers and good luck to England at Euro Champs.

When did United sign Modric.... Never because they havent..

Quigz23

Big rumour in the mirrior that they are gonna must be true if the manc loving mirrior say so not c'mon ireland and englandpool for the euros

Utd signed modric ? must have missed that, either that or you're talking tosh !

Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring in four players in the transfer window. He has designated the need for a striker, a right midfielder, a centre back and a right back to bolster his squad. Brendan Rodgers is looking at Edin Dzeko of Manchester City as he sees him to be the perfect partner for Luis Suarez next season. His finishing ability has been exactly lacked last campaign and with his potential arrival it places a further question mark over the future of Andy Carroll. Glen Johnson is up for sale and Liverpool are willing to listen to offers around the £10million mark. Mauricio Isla, who is set to turn 24 later this month, has been cited as Liverpool's number one target to replace Glen Johnson if he is to leave. Adam Johnson is close to a move to Liverpool from Manchester City in a £12.5million deal. Johnson has grown increasingly disillusioned at the Etihad, and his omission from the England squad has allowed Liverpool and Sunderland to make their move earlier than anticipated. Adam Johnson is keen on a move to Liverpool rather than the Stadium of Light and the deal could be done as early as next week. Brendan Rodgers is looking closely at bringing in Mats Hummels of Barussia Dortmund with Martin Skrtel included in an £8million player plus cash deal, talks are understood to be in the early stages but this could prove to be a shrewd piece of business on Liverpool's behalf. Finally, Liverpool's hopes of signing Gaston Ramirez have been flummoxed with Ramirez preferring a move to Spain in the summer with Real Madrid intensifying their interest in the midfielder. Liverpool will instead make a move for Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin of Real Madrid, who has had trouble cementing a place at the Bernabeu since his arrival. Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring players in towards the beginning of the window as he looks to instil his pass and move style of football in Liverpool's pre-season tour of America and feels by bringing the group together quickly he can work most productively.

RichTheRed05

Well written. Sounds almost believable. Almost.

That clears all that up then!

Now if you had signed this post "Macca" we would all be getting excited

Dzeko - No chance
Johnson out Isla in - We have Kelly to replace Johnson already plus Flanno
Adam Johnson - Fingers crossed
Mats Hummels - No chance
Nuri Sahin - Unlikely (and overrated)

RG

Don't see most of it to be honest.

Hummels is more their ball playing defender (an Agger if you like), their Skrtel is Subotic. I also don't see why Hummels/Dortmund would want to split up arguably the best defensive partnership in Europe last season. At least not to come to a club in transition like we are. Do think Sahin would be a shout though, cracking player.

Thanks for the info! I've heard Dzeko is defo on the cards. Not so sure about Sahin though?

So we are looking for four players and the areas listed are...
Striker - Dzeko
Right Midfielder - Adam Johnson
Centre Back - Hummels
Right Back - Isla

Oh, and then we'll just throw in a 5th player, Midfielder - Sahin because we can't get Ramirez, which was not mentioned in the initial number or in the initial list of positions that we are asked to believe?

But I guess that ends the Sigurdsson talk too eh?

The same dzeko that scored 3 goals after january coming to bolster our striker options lol

Dzeko is on his way to Bayern, though.

Hummels has just signed a new five year deal so....

Are you drunk ?

Thick question time, Whats going on with Poulsen? Is his contract up? Is he coming back (please god no)
Cheers
FowlerisGod {Ed002's Note - Poulsen should become a free agent this summer.}

Why would he come back? He signed for Evian permanently not on loan. Unless Rodgers is a massive fan of his, he certainly won't be coming back.

I was under the impression we sold him rather than loaned him out

Biggest waste of 4 million pounds ever, I'd rather have jonny Vegas in midfield than poulsen

Hi there,

Heard a rumour from a friend who's known Jay Spearing since school and he's heard that the deal for Diame is due to be tied up by Monday morning at the latest, dont know how solid this source is but its just what I've heard. He also said that we are trying to secure a move for Higuain from Real Madrid as BR feels extra competition for places in attack could prove fruitful next season and fire us to that top 4 position. Again not sure how reliable the source is so dont shoot the messanger!

Red_Sebastian

I worked with Jays dad for 14 yrs and he never new anything that was happening at LFC so I rather think Jay would of told his dad before some old school mate dont you red seb

Loose lips sink ships. Maybe jay's dad keeps his mouth shut?

30+ million for "competition"

Rodgers will not be spending big this summer.

Aquilani will be shipped out as he wants to leave and would be unnecessary with the icelander coming in.

Cole and maxi will stay as they fit into our new system and will be used in rotation with downing and maybe one new signing.
One of Coates, Wilson, Flanagan or Sterling will go to Swansea on loan and a loan is being looked at to West Brom also. (waiting for Swansea's new manager of course).
Back up is being looked at for Lucas.
Players being offered for sale are Pacheco (another loan/fee), Spearing and Ecclestone.

Bull sh$t just because we have a manager from swansea and are old coach goes t west brom does mean we will loan out them players and we all basically knew cole would come back I think personally maxi will leave and as for Aquilani we have been trying to get rid of him for about 2 years or 1 so that not new youve have also said to of a cb which were are we going to find another one for cover? it only leaves us with one

Cheers JJ

So the new signing will just be back up for Lucas? Don't think we can do with anybody else a bit further up the field?

Tristan

Take Sterling out of the situation as he is too young until Jan

54D13R

Rodger's wont be spending then next line when the icelander comes in well unless he will be a free transfer that would be spending some money totally contradicting your self within 15 words

Maxi = gone

I have not contradicted myself. 6mill is not "spending big"

someone further up the pitch? Like cole, Sigurðsson and the new winger?
Kelly will be tried as a central defender. There is also the other of Wilson/Coates so plenty of cover.

Spurs to sign Charlie adam and Stewart downing both for around 15 million combined to replace modric (man united) Bale to (barca)

Bullsh*t thats depreciation for you.

theres no way liverpool will let downing go after payin £20 mil for him - he'l come good next season - dont know about charlie adam - what does he offer in midfield that hendo and shelvey dont?

If they are deemed good enough to join (and presumably strengthen) a team which finished above us, then why is there any suggestion we should lose money on these transfer fees?

Puzzled

Id take that deal but i very much doubt it will happen, dont think spurs would bother wasting that amount of money going off last years perfomances. I think both will stay and I hope they improve and play like they both did before joining us.

I've just wasted a good 7 seconds of my life reading that utter rubbish......And a further 20 seconds replying to it... You owe me 27 seconds you joker.

If Carlsberg did transfer deadline day!
Thats about 10m too much for the pair!

Ciario

Personally I am not sure about Downing coming good. He will be 27 in July and has not come good yet so I wont hold my breath.
CR

Did'nt think much of them before they joined us,and now they have been with us a year,don't think anymore of them.
It's always our mentality,to give a player more time to come good.Let's face it these two are experienced,and ARE NOT going to get better.BR get rid now,please.

Spurs will not be near as good this year then prob finish 8th with these two although i have afeeling that downing and carroll will be much better this season adam would be more suited to the likes of villa not bad not top 4 talent either.

Please put your name on your posts that way i can look out for the next load of tripe you dream up in the sand pit
redtilimdead

Good joke :)
Shanio1

Hahah

Neither of them would even get on the Spurs bench never mind in their team.

Come out of your fantasy world my friend

Afternoon Ed, just a couple of questions apropos of nothing, should we be looking at Negredo? Could he be available? Are others interested?

Cheers
Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Negredo was offered to Chelsea last year but I understand not for sale right now. That could change if he does well at the Euros and a high bid is made.}

Careful... some people or rubbish journalists might actually think you are being racist :)

Apropos eh really

08 Jun 2012 13:01:50
a few sources are reporting that Coates is being touted to lower half premier league clubs to help him gain experience on loan. Personally I think we may look to bring in another centre back if any deal regarding Coates comes into fruition.
Rusty

I am a little surprised at this.He is a footballing CB who should suit Rogers style of play and he is a good player.

I do think we could do with another defender. Someone else, maybe a bit older (late 20's), so they can push Daggers and Martin for starting place.

Tristan

Hi Ed,
The Polish manager has said that Piszczek (Dortmund I think) will be moving to the premiership in the summer, but didnt say who. Do you know which clubs have interest in him? Thanks Ed,

Burnsy {Ed002's Note - Are you sure he was not talking about Lewandowski?}

I hope its Lewandowski and I hope it is to us, because frankly that boy seems class.

Jolly Red {Ed002's Note - The club he was referring to is Manchester United.}

Perfect replacement for Johnson

Sorry Ed, I meant Jakub Blaszczykowski, who he also said was moving to England. Any ideas where?

Thanks

Burnsy {Ed002's Note - There is no deal for Blaszczykowski with any EPL side.}

Lewandowski is very good player

Not sure about that but the Polish manager has suggested Lewandowski to Man U is a done thing. Which sucks obviously.

Actually it is lewendoski to man u and Pizak to real Madrid the other fella could go to England

Do you expect lewandoski to move to ,am utd considering he has two years on his contract ? ........RED INDIAN

Pisczeck (spelling) is off to madrid, lewandowski to united and blaczykowski (spelling) is going to an unamed premiership club

statement on LFC website:

Liverpool midfielder Maxi Rodriguez has denied he is on the brink of a move away from Anfield.

Reports in South America have suggested the 31-year-old has agreed a move to Newell's Old Boys - the club where he began his career.

However, Rodriguez, who is back in his native Argentina following the birth of his second daughter, insists the speculation is wide of the mark.

"I do not know where these things come from," he said.

"I have one year left on my contract at Liverpool and did not talk to anybody."

Maxi has so far scored 17 goals in 73 appearances for the Reds.

What Liverpool website you looking at?

Football 365 reporting this

The club will be looking to sell Maxi, he has less than 12 months left on his contract and the club will look into getting any kind of money for him rather than him leaving on the free next year.
Roy

I think he would thrive under Rodgers. he's really technically gifted. He could be like a new signing.

08 Jun 2012 12:22:14
Are we after Krasic eds? {Ed002's Note - Juventus will be open to offers for Krasic and Joksimovic has been trying to get as many clubs as possible interested including Lazio, Liverpool and Spurs - and he has had success with all three showing interest. Borussia Dortmund, Villarreal, Sevilla, Zenit St Petersburg, Fenerbahce and Anzhi Makhachkala have a confirmed interest in the player although I suspect Dortmund will drop their interest. There is at least one very influential person at Chelsea who very much likes the player and wishes to revisit earlier interest. Krasic has declared his interest in Manchester United and it is not completely out of the question that they may be interested in him. Fenerbahce and Lazio strike me as the most likely destinations for him right now.}

08 Jun 2012 12:21:05
Any of the eds know if Defoe is a possible target?
We talk alot about foreign names but this guy is proven in the premiership and looking for regular football. Would be very good up top with either Carroll or Suarez.
He will struggle to get regular games at City, Chelski or Utd and there has been interest before.

Would love this to happen...

Yorkshire Kopper

Give me the option of taking defoe off tottenhams hand and i woulda bit your hand off! However hes nearing the end of his career and probably only has a year left of good quality striking! So while i admire his quality i think it may be too late

AND he struggles to get regular games now - so why would he be good enough for us?

Puzzled

I would realy hope we could get a better player than Defoe, he is bloody crap you person !!

Still a quality player with at least 3 seasons in him... with the chances we created last season he would have done very well for us... He is more realistic then the Llorentes, Tevez, Cavani fantasists. By no means a 'world class' player but still top drawer prem striker. Defo possibility

Could be a good addition to lfc(at right price and wage's).Good pace,skilful and lively in final third. just wondering if the problems with his family life (his father) have contributed to his poor form last season. Good luck to his family for the future

08 Jun 2012 12:12:21
Diego Godin
Edinson Cavani
Mauricio Isla
ive hearrd rumours that liverpool are going after these 3 players?
any truth in it? and also that aquilani is coming back, (i know u say that aquilani does not want to play for liverpool, but i heard hes had a change of heart)
i will be sad to se kuyt go.
lucas to return? some of the players who did not do very much also going..
cant wait for the season to start, and see what brendan does.
a top 4 spot?
more trophies?
who knows. only time will tell.
lets hope so hey.
YNWA.
UNCLE ZAINY BEAR.

Liverpool will not sign the 3 players you mentioned! Kuyt has already gone! Of course Lucas will return!

Muller

08 Jun 2012 11:47:44
Hey eds
Anys chance of Hatem Ben Arfa. The kid looks talented and could carve up any defense in the league. He is quick, skillful has a good eye for goal, plays RW if I am correct and is young.
He recently stated that he would only leave for a team he feels has a good future.
Just wondering about him because i've always admired him and he could be great. Any interest?
GOD {Ed002's Note - Ben Arfa will not be joining Liverpool this summer.}

He's got a attitude and is a greedy b**tard. That definitely fits in with the gaffers philosophy

Why would he leave Newcastle for us?

08 Jun 2012 11:47:36
Isla has stated that he HASN'T signed for Juventus. Perhaps there is hope yet?

Drigan

Don't need him don't want him

08 Jun 2012 11:47:30
Any chance the Reds will make a move for Kalou on a free, at 26 it might not be a bad move. Carlos {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Kalou from Schalke, Newcastle and Galatasaray. Previously Olympiakos approached Chelsea with an offer to take Kalou in January but the player has no interest in a move to Greece. Marseille did make an enquiry but the problem would be wages. If that could be resolved it could provide a solution that suits everyone.}

08 Jun 2012 11:03:52
hi Eds: is Christian Erikson a realistic target ? i know he may hav options elsewhere but if Liverpool were 2 seriously pursue him , how much would he cost? i think he would be incredible 4 the reds, and at still only 20 i think he could b a superstar. much appreciated, cheers

concon {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen in the recent past. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. The Milan Press Office are convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expect a bid to be made by for Eriksen who remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for two more years before moving to Spain. Expect AC Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United.}

Don't need eriksen

I hope this lad comes to Liverpool. He is Gerrard's heir.

08 Jun 2012 10:22:03
Any chances in us making a move for Pato, 22 young and fitting into the strategy, with Milan looking to offload he could come on loan or a little cheaper given he doesn't demand money, if fit he's great. Not saying I've heard anything just wondering if you eds might think we could look at him available? {Ed002's Note - I don't think there is any chance of Pato moving to Liverpool this summer.}

Here we go again... Another baseless question...

Utter nonsense

That's bull

Pato no chance just look at the players we are linked with i think no big names mid table players from now on

I wasn't linking him with us I was saying do you think if he became available whether Liverpool would be interested in which ed answered, there's nothing to be bull I asked a question didn't claim to be any link

Why do you want pato? looks s**te when i seen him

08 Jun 2012 10:14:51
Hi Ed's,

What happened to all the rumours about Yann M'Vila. Thought we had good chances in January to get him, now we have no chance? {Ed002's Note - Inter Milan, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all shown a determined interest in M'Vila and perhaps PSG will become interested as well. However, he remains there for the taking of Arsenal should they make an offer that is acceptable to Rennes.}

Btw. Why is Manchester United linked to every player. ?

AJI

maxi to newell old boys done deal

According to ssn deal for maxi not done

Not what he says he just said there's no truth behind his anfield exit :P

Not according to Maxi.

Hi Ed
There were contacts with juventus about krasic and al makthoum is very interested to buy 25per cent of ac Milan.

Thanks MALTA. {Ed002's Note - That is correct.}

08 Jun 2012 09:50:49
Liverpool showing interest in Yohan Cabaye and Ben Arfa, with newcastle looking at the possibility to sign back Andy C and also meant to be keen on adam..... and Wigan looking at Jay spearing. personally I think theres no chance newcastle will let these two go, even if we did offer £35mil :-
Carlos

Carroll is staying. He is turning into a quality player. And Ben arfa and cabaye do me a favour

08 Jun 2012 09:36:53
Eds, how possible these four players will be signed for Liverpool this summer;

James Rodriguez (FC Porto - right winger),
Yann M'Vila (Rennes - Defensive Midfield)
Gaston Ramirez (Bologna - Attacking Midfield)
Mario Mandzukic (Wolfsburg - Striker/Winger)

Please post in the rumours section.

thanks {Ed002's Note - None are likely. Ramirez is possible.}

Yeah, Ramirez would be good. And do we even need M'Villa, if we manage to sign Diame?
JackD

08 Jun 2012 09:16:58
is the speculation true about suarez making a move towards juventus.
HMc {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Look around man. Suarez has made it clear he is impressed with Rodgers style of football and they have met to discuss his role at LFC. Luis is happy ,he is going nowhere.
CR

Yeah, and no footballer has EVER made positive noises about the club he's at and then ended up moving anyway.

Juve not even near to buy him. as if Suarez leave somthing £50m can liverpool think about it. and Juve maximum can pay half of it. so they can have a Suarez jersy signed by him with that amount.

Hi guys, 1st time posting never had any info until now but I am a regular visitor to this site, which is great and very addictive. hoillet spotted last night at the raddison hotel in liverpool. my brothers is at a conference there. he text me at 12:30am to say he was in the bar accross from him. I beleive him he's not the type to bull. Even if we don't sign him I reckon he would at some point listen to what the club has to say.

Has he not signed for german club? {Ed002's Note - Borussia Monchengladbach is his likely destination.}

There are 2 clubs in Liverpool

Heard everton are in for him mate, gutted though cos I think he could be a good impact player

Lee

Eh, Did Hoilett not sign for Moenchengladbach last week?

Hoilett has a choice of clubs,all bigger than everyone.do me a favour!

I never said he is deffo in talks all I said was he was spotted. Could be he's talking to both clubs. He could b there just having a beer. Even if he is thinking of going abroad it stands to reason though he would listen to offers from a big north west clubs.

He's already agree to join glad back on 4 year deal lol

There are indeed 2 clubs in Liverpool but I don't think that Tranmere have any chance of signing him.

An avid follower of this site.. An avid follower of Ed002..
Just can't get enough of you Ed002...

Putting together 2 + 2 and Ed002's inputs
Here's what we should expect this summer rather than Cavani's , Higuain's, Pato's...

Gylfi Sigurdson
Mohamaed Diame
Luuk De jong
Ryad Boudebouz
Victor Moses

Perhaps
Adam Johnson
Rasmus Elm

Expect a minimum of three out of them...

and From what I make of BR expect curtains on a few like
Charlie Adam
Jay Spearing
Perhaps
Stewart Downing
Glen Johnson
and dare I say Andy Carroll...

Request you to put on rumours page and I hope people stop asking about Cavani's, Higuain's, Benzema's

Regards,
goala

So you can read Rodger's mind? Even before he has finalized plans and meetings with scouts you know who will have wow

Can personally see Adam and Spearing shown the door. Don't see him getting rid of the other 3.

Are you joking, Andy Carroll? they spent way to much on him to sell him now, when he is finally doing better! Not sure about Downing too, but you left out maxi, who has denied leaving if you look at the liverpool website.

This is just a wild guess ,very wde of the mark I am sure.

Thats all well and good but what about Cavani, Higuain & Pato? I like many others on this site, think we will sign all three! and for a collective figure of £100.00 yes that is one hundred pounds. You heard it here first!!

(no name signed)

Think your spot on mate. No one really knows but I think fro. The eds that's an accurate list. I personally can't see Carroll leaving but the rest is bang on. Knowing Liverpool none will sign but as of now I think your right! And so should anyone else reading the eds replies!

Redjay

I bet you have a shrine for ed002 in your house. {Ed002's Note - Or you can sign up for the Ed002 Appreciation Society at: tinyurl.com/7fbgecd }

I think we'll sign, sigurdson, diame, boudebouz, and sell spearing, i still think maxi is on his way out too....i would love us to offer Rodallega a contract, im sure hes on a free

Some of Ed002 replies are copy and pasting which I find BORING.

(Whats in a name?) {Ed002's Note - So you excpect a different answer to be written everytime someone asks a repeated question. Why aren't you bleating about the fans who cannot be bothered top read the answers already given? That is because you are no more than an obnoxious troll.}

Agree with everything mate apart from Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing, cant really see them two leaving, and i'm not quite sure what to make of the Glen Johnson situation.

What about Cavani? Higuain? Benzema? Are we getting all three?

Cheers,
Bommy

These are all based on my guess work mixed with what Ed002 has said.I am not selling his name, but at the same time I accept He has the most apt knowledge of the modern game. Our club structure does not pay high wages so its pretty clear we can't attract the best of players neither do we have CL football... Just for starters, I have been following the club for the past 10 years.

Regards,
Goala

To All

I believe Aurelio, Kuyt and Maxi were dead certain to go...

I am not entirely sure what lies in futures of Joe Cole and Alberto Aquallani...

As for people questioning about Downing and Carroll : - That's Why I have kept them on "perhaps" list...
I am not sure about the prices but if the right offer comes in for Glen, Stewie and Andy they would be allowed to leave, obviously based on there personal terms...

Regards,
goala

hi Eds,

With Lucas back on training again, our midfield will become stronger again. Eds, has Brendan Rodgers interested to find another playmaker to pair with Lucas?
Joe Allen, if he send transfer request then will we be able to sign him? Or, does he has another target in mind?

If LFC sign Gylfi & Soldado, and maybe another winger I would be happy.

Just hate to see MU,Chelsea signing star players.
Hope we sign quality rather than big names.

Any interest in Asia player?

From Japan with Love'LFC

{Ed002's Note - There is clear interest in Elm and Sigurdsson. Joe Allen will not move to Liverpool this summer. With Liverpool soccer schools opening in Asia I am sure Liverpool will be looking at potential talent from the region.}

Why doe people want Joe Allen he's carp Henderson is better than him.

Most people have only seen highlights of Allen whereas they have seen a lot of Hendo. If you just look at Hendo highlights I bet he looks great and personally I think he will thrive under the new manager.
CR

08 Jun 2012 05:57:59
Eds, it seems Liverpool will only make an offer for Sigurdsson after he has rejected Swansea, do you think Hoffenhiem would increase his asking price for us? Also, do you think he would be first choice att midfielder? {Ed002's Note - If Sigurdsson is available I am sure that Hoffenhiem will be ready to discuss a deal for the player. I don't know that they would look to scalp Liverpool. If he arrived he would go into the squad and I would expect that he would be a regular starter.}

08 Jun 2012 05:51:06
Appears Jackson Martinez, who has been linked with the reds is on the verge of joining FC Porto. Source: Abola

08 Jun 2012 05:08:39
Mohamed Diame will officially sign for Liverpool on July 1st on a free transfer.

[Mirror]

Why july the 1st, when we can sign him now??? {Ed002's Note - His contract will expire on June 30 unless he has been released from it by Wigan.}

08 Jun 2012 01:28:14
What's the situation over James Rodríguez? do we have changes on getting him...

No!! i doubt it very much!

07 Jun 2012 21:16:50
Hi ed's

Are we interested in Oliver Giroud if so has hes got a 12.5 million release clause?

Also are we looking at a young 20year old star from chad he scored 105 goals in 185 apps

Thanks mikey {Ed005's Note - He hasn't got a £12.5m release clause and there isn't strong interest from LFC. We'd likely get priced out of a move.}

It's become quite apparent to me that Arsenal will be looking to move for either Giroud or De Jong, to appease their fans once RVP admits he is leaving for new pastures.

I don't believe RVP would have let the fans stew all summer, unless he has decided to leave; like many of the other players who have since left in the last year or two.

07 Jun 2012 21:11:14
eds can you shed any light as to whether maxi has left or not? personally i cant see it with kuyt left i think rogers will atleast keep maxi incase he cant find a replacement for kuyt {Ed016's Note - Still at Liverpool}

07 Jun 2012 22:12:26
brendan rogers first bit of transfer activity will be a bid in the region of 5 million for fulhams Kerim Frei

you have been told...

sizzle

Not gonna happen mate, I posted the same rumour 3 months ago and was shot down as having MOTD fever.

Kuyt left, after Rodgers was announced as manager.

I think technically, that would constitute as Rodgers first bit of transfer activity.

Great player if we can get him but umlikely- fits into BR mould of players

07 Jun 2012 22:06:06
watch for the newspaper talks linking liverpool and spurs with soldado in the next day or so..

I honestly dont understand why totenham get linked with every striker although i would love to see soldado in a red shirt

07 Jun 2012 22:37:59
Perhaps the Diame deal is back on, I know its only Sly Sports but they are reporting that;

"Diame, who played at Wigan in the 2011/12 season, is one of the top Bosmans around this summer and a host of clubs are after the Senegal international.

The move appeared to have collapsed following the sacking of former Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish.
However, new manager Brendan Rodgers has given the green light for the deal, as he is a big fan of the midfielder."

Red Chris

Wigan don't want this player, why are even been linked, we are doomed, doomed i tell you doomed!

He is a very good player actually and offers us something we don't already got
