Hi Ed.

This has rattled my brain a little. With Lille out of Europe totally is there a chance that Hazard could make a potential switch to Liverpool? I cant help but think that with Joe Cole there he must have had a word in his ear. If not Liverpool then maybe Chelsea but they have Mata. Same goes for Götze. And dortmund. Are either of these likely due to their clubs failure in Europe?

Kam {Ed001's Note - he is most likely to go to Spain I believe.}

Which player? Hazard? Götze? Or both? {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona have already been knocked back by his club and Goetze himself has made it abundantly clear that he wants to stay at Dortmund for this season, although no doubt a very significant offer would be listened to. Real Madrid may be able to persuade him to move. He has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There is also interest also from AC Milan - and I suspect that they are shifting their interest in Ganso or Fernando to Goetze due to persisting non-EU quota issues. There may be some, so far unpublisized, interest from elsewhere announced soon. Unless an extraordinary bid is made in January, Eden Hazard will not be available to the summer. Real Madrid or Barcelona is his preferred destination. PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are all interested to one degree or another. I said over the summer that I would not be surprised to see Manchester United through their hat in to the ring with Hazard as well. I don't see Hazard moving to Liverpool, Juventus, AC Milan or Arsenal for that matter. Chelsea have maintained a long-term interest but one particularly influential party at the club sees the player as having an attitude problem.}

E.Hazard will not even consider Liverpool if they are not in the Champions League next year. Even if Lille and Liverpool agree on a transfer (involving J.Cole most likely) Hazard still has to accept a contract from us and if we are not in the Champions League then he will have no intrest becuase he knows other BIG teams want him.

Fair point. So we can safely rule out Hazard in Jan then? Are you saying that he would/could be an option in the summer? Or does he just not fancy Liverpool at all?

Kam {Ed002's Note - Hazard will not be moving to Liverpool.}

Question: given the rough ride Cole had at Liverpool, and considering he has (I believe, could well be wrong) said it is a relief (or words to that effect) to have left Anfield, why in God's name would he recommend the place to other people?

TSP

True. But just because he had a rough ride does not mean someone else will. Joe Cole has a huge amount of respect for Liverpool and all the clubs hes played for. He sed so himself on an interview on football focus. It didnt work out for Joe Cole (disapointingly) but there will be many more like him unfortunately but also many more that will benefit from being at Anfield also. Fortunately.

To be honest the owners we have now are never going to fund big money moves so we will never get back into the chapions leauge we have go the wrong owners for lfc

If you want richer owners go support another club.

Realistically where not an attractive prospect for a player like hazard, it's going to be a rough couple of years for us I'm afraid, and before you say it, I am a Liverpool fan.

We don't have the right owners what do you mean? I think we have great owners. Sorry we don't have the billions Man City has to blow like a spoiled child. Then be 194million in the red and maybe disqualified from playing in the champions league when the UEFA financial fair play rule comes in to play.

Why would Joe Cole say anything good about our club? I suspect he would be recommending Chelsea, not us....

Is it true that we are looking at Russian league players and I know a few are very good and I want to know which players are more likely?

Hi Ed,

You said you would have an update on the Munian situation sometime this week, have you heard back for your source yet?

Cheers, MansfieldRED {Ed001's Note - yes, but he doesn't seem to think we have made any kind of contact with Bilbao regarding him since they made their price known.}

I would love to see him on the squad I believe he can be one of the best players in the world. But 40 mil is a lot for a potentially great player.

JoeThunder

Out of interest Ed, were you surprised that there had been no contact?

ChrisMiz {Ed002's Note - I will try and explain what I know of the situation with Muniain. Around October and with the agreement of Athletic Bilbao Muniain was offered initially to Manchester United and then to Chelsea at an asking price of 40M euros. Subsequently I understand that Barcelona, Liverpool and Spurs were asked if they had interest at that price. The price of course resulted in everyone turning them down but I am assured that Roma maintain an interest in the player. I don't see the kid moving at anything like that price and it was probably a case of Bilbao trying their luck with the dumb English clubs who will always pay over the odds. Strangely enough, there is nothing to suggest any approach was made to Manchester City. I would not hold your breath for a January move to Liverpool.}

Ed001 is leandro damiao a possible signing for jan? {Ed001's Note - as far as I know, no, not for us anyway.}

Transfer round up 2:

Arshavin-
{Ed002's Note - He is in his 30s and Liverpool have no interest in him.}

Hoilett-
{Ed002's Note- I don't know of any interest from Liverpool at this time. Spurs, Newcastle, Stoke and possibly Aston Villa have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany.}

Jadson-
{Ed002's Note - Jadson very nearly joined Arsenal in the summer and at 28 and with Shakhtar out of the Champions League a move would not be a surprise. However, reported interest seems to be based on speculation at this time.}

Schurrle-
{Ed001's Note - they are not looking to sell him, though I am sure they would be tempted by a big money offer. No idea how much that would be though, not sure why anyone cares to be honest. I don't understand this obsession with player prices at all.}

Kagawa-
{Ed001's Note - doubtful a move for him will be made in January.}

Erikkson-
{Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. Back in mid July someone from the Milan Press Office said he had heard of interest from Manchester United - but I am not aware of any confirmation of that interest. I doubt that January is an option for a move to Liverpool, but perhaps the summer. The player has expressed an interest to move to Spain.}

Lucas Ocampos-
{Ed002's Note - Probably not. River Plate's Lucas Ocampos has been looked at by a number of sides with Bayern Munich and Chelsea maintaining an interest. I understand that Diego Caniggia took a look on behalf of Liverpool but it was decided that he would be too expensive to buy and that seems to have ended any brief interest that Liverpool had. Inter Milan, Sevilla and Palermo have also shown an interest and Juventus (not either of the MIlan clubs) made a bid of $15.5M.}

M'Vila-
{Ed002's Note - Inter, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchestewr City, Juventus, Genoa and perhaps Liverpool & Chelsea showed an interest or enquired about M'Vila this past summer. M'Vila will almost certainly not move until the summer. A very significant bid from Manchester City has already been turned down. With that offer that was made for M'Vila in the summer Rennes have upped their valuation of the player to an extent where Creachcadec has said no Italian team can aford M'Vila. I would expect that there may be interest in him from PSG and possibly Real Madrid by the time he comes up for sale in the summer. I would be astonished if M'Vila moved in January. Price will be a significant issue for Liverpool.}

Moussa Sissoko-
{Ed002's Note - Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko is a fine player and has attracted interest from Lyon, Roma, Genoa, Juventus, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Arsenal and Milan's previous interest waned over the summer. Damien Comolli let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard but for some reason Liverpool failed to make the final push in the summer. Sissoko is available but both Roma and Lyon appear to have the edge over other interested clubs and as far as I know at the moment Liverpool have yet to follow up their previous interest.}

Ganston Ramirez-
{Ed002's Note - Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool. I suspect he will not be available until the summer unless a very good offer is made. A move to Sevilla, Palermo or Juventus is also possible - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. A maybe.}

Torres-
ha even I can answer that with a fat no.

I just hope this takes a little strain of boring repetitive posts off the Ed's for a few days. Thanks for the great jobs Ed's!!

Ed001 you said recently that we were scouting the russian league as it end in jan. Have you heard anything new on any of there players eg welliton? {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard anything more since then sorry.}

08 Dec 2011 18:10:28
It was published in Caughtoffside that the top 3 targets for us in januay are:
Scott Sinclair
Keisuka Honda
Lucas Biglia

Eds, please tell me this list is not relieable. {Ed001's Note - it is caughtoffside, the site which employs a bunch of kids to make up stories in return for shirts.}

Why would they ask as you say "kids to make up stories in exchange for shirts" wouldn't it make more sense to just make up the stories themselves instead?? if its all lies why bother with all the hassle of it {Ed001's Note - you would have to ask them, I have no knowledge of them other than knowing a few people who have made up lies for them and received shirts in return.}

08 Dec 2011 17:38:51
hi eds, what are you thoughts on the russian striker alexander kerzhakov? under-rated i feel and i am surprised no big European teams have come in for him before. he has a great goal to game ratio, 1:2.
Good asset for Liverpool, pace and a great left foot!
thanks richy p {Ed002's Note - He used to play in Spain but I don't recall who for and I guess he is around 30 now.}

Think it was sevilla and we were linked with him a couple of years back

Tomkop7

He played for seville

Sevilla. I believe he wasn't much of a success.

Hi eds,
Marko marin is not playing so well this season.
Does it mean that the teams who showed interest in the past are not interested anymore and liverpool can snatch him? {Ed002's Note - AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the past and I hear that Arsenal are interested at the moment. Perhaps Italy is the most likely destination, and I understand his preferred destination.}

I would like to ask a few points please edd01.

1 You say glen johnson is likely to leave. Are there any teams interested and how much realistically can we expect to get. Could we not sell him jan and remove his wage, and invest in striker

2 Are there any moves being made for start of january for player arrival. If so who or what position?

3 Is Torres rumours complete pie in the sky or could it be possible?

Cheers
Taffytel {Ed001's Note - 1. there is currently little interest in him as far as I am aware, it is unlikely he will leave in January. We still need him with Kelly's fitness issues, so we would need to sign a replacement before we sell. 2. yes, we are looking at a few forwards, I have said the names I have heard a few times mate, I really don't like repeating myself over and over. 3. complete nonsense, we have shown no interest in his return.}

Thank you edd

Taffytel

Thank you edd

Taffytel (what could he be worth. granted you say not best defensively but arguably England number 1)

Hi Ed's what can we expect in January? I've read a few posts, but isit likely that a holding midfielder will be of intrest? {Ed002's Note - The implication from Dalglish is that there will not be a holding midfielder purchased in January.}

Thanks, Also who you think may join in January, if you had to say a couple of names? {Ed002's Note - Man you need to read the posts.}

Wouldn't it of been quicker to tell me then instead of saying read the posts? {Ed002's Note - Not for me.}

08 Dec 2011 14:48:38
Hi is the rumors of torres comeing back to anfield for 6 months while carroll go's to chelsea true ot false {Ed002's Note - They are false.}

I thought it was just wanted to make sure

Really mate u even thought this is true!!!!

Wud not want him. Let him stay at his big club

08 Dec 2011 14:40:02
Hi Eds,

Hearing about Glen Johnson potentially being for sale in January, who would replace him? Kelly, Flanno or would we invest in a right back? If so, who would be ideal for us to sign for that position?

Also Eds, this link with Godin. Surely we can't be looking at another CB. We bought Coates prior to the season and he hasn't fully been unleashed as of yet.

And a last, totally random, question: Who do you think would be the best long term Captain of LFC (after Gerrard or Carra)?

M_Haefele {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that the summer is a more likely time for Johnson to be sold. Ed001 has suggest a RB may be looked at. There have been general enquiries made over recent months. It is likely that Liverpool's interest in Godin pre-dates the arrival of Coates and that Chelsea's interest is from a while back. Chelsea and Arsenal could still be interested, as both are in need of a centre back, although Cahill his a more likely target for both with Chelsea looking at Benatia as an option as well.}

I personally think Reina's a great captain. After him would be Agger. Absolute Class.

PITSILFC

I think the next captain could be Jordan Henderson mate he's doing a good job with the u21s

King luis

I said this a few weeks back. The information provided suggests the club will allow him to leave in January. I personally would be happy as he can't defend.

hi eds,
just reading on a large vairety of sources Gaston Ramirez is being heavily linked? this at all likely?
cheers, {Ed002's Note - Whilst Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool I remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. I suspect he will not be available until the summer unless a very good offer is made. A move to Sevilla, Palermo or Juventus is also possible - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested.}

08 Dec 2011 12:02:08
Are Liverpool watching Milan Badelj? Is there a chance that liverpool will submit a bid in January?

I love how i post a rumour about Liverpool watching Dinamo Zagreb and mention Badelj and Kovacic and within a day two 'rumour's' about said players apear. Both are very good players put i reckon we are more interested in their right back Sime Vrsaljko.

KMK YNWA

I reckon the 2 of you get off football manager!

Transfer rumours round up:

David villa-
{Ed002's Note - David Villa would cost perhaps £30M or so - a lot for a 30 year old an his wages would be very high. He has never wanted to play outside of Spain. Makes little sense to me so I think it is very unlikely.}

Eduardo Vargas-
{Eduardo Vargas has to be a possibility but with interest from Italy and serious interest from Inter I suspect England a less likely destination than Italy or Russia. Certainly there has been interest from Italian and English clubs (Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Palermo and probably others) but there are concerns from the English clubs as to whether or not he will be able to obtain international clearance immediately. If he were to move and go on loan, then the club is taking a risk that he continues to play competitive internationals for his country.}

Adam Johnson-
{Ed002's Note - Slim but not out of the question.}

Moussa Sow-
{Ed001's Note - I am pretty sure we have been saying for a while that Sow is available, he was always likely to make the move to the Prem. Personally I feel Arsenal are his most likely destination, but that's just based on a feeling not info.}

Roberto solardo-
{Ed002's Note - Certainly Liverpool have shown some interest in Soldado who is having a good season but his availability in January is by no means certain. If Valencia progress in the Champions League he may wish to see the season out. At about 25M euro he would not be cheap.}

Podolski-
{Ed002's Note - I don't see any chance of Podolski going to a club where he cannot be sure of a starting place - it could well put his international career at risk. Lazio, Spurs and Arsenal have shown an interest but he could decide to move to Turkey with Galatasary or possibly Russia with interest from several clubs including Anzhi and Zenit. If he does move to England, Arsenal is certainly the most likely destination.}

Luk De Jong-
{Ed001's Note - not intended to be a January target as far as I understand, it is just that there is so much interest in him we may be forced to move then.}

Hope to get another one done later.

Red Rout

Well in Red Rout, I haven't had the chance to do one myself, been busy the past few weeks. If circumstances change, would you like me to do the next round up on the 22nd?

Cheers
Chris

Yh that would be good. iam planning to finish this day off with another post aswell. in the jan window if you want we could do a weekly one alternating with me starting the 6th?

Red Rout

We won't get any of these players, because.. well. that would be the smart thing to do , right?

And sorry for two posts but if you ever need another person to do one of these i could help...
ShaneK Lfc

Well Done Red Rout. talk about it 1st February.

Red Rout that sounds good to me mate, sure. I'll put it in my calendar now so I don't forget! I'll do one on the 22nd of this month and then the 13th Jan so we can alternate every Friday!

ShaneK I wouldn't mind at all if you wanted to chip in with us. It all started a couple of weeks back when I did one and Red Rout made the point that it may help the ed's out if we were to round things up every now and then. We can sort out dates on here or on a social networking site, whatever is easiest for you two

Thanks
Chris

Chris do yo mind if i join in

KopAHead

I wouldn't mind at all KopAHead but its not just down to me, ask the other lads/ladies too :) If you want to get me on facebook/twitter just let me know and we can arrange when is best to post updates

Thanks

do we have any interest Mateo Kovacic {Ed002's Note - None that I am aware of.}

These players of note have been heavily linked to spurs, these players I myself and a format by the name tottenham hotspur due to implications, so no name! Are what have ben told to us previous and at present, there are other names of who we have no idea, these names are not copied from other teams, most have the same ideas when scouting players, some players for one reason or other choose their preference of club!
Mateo kovacic, he has been over to spurs lodge, has the croatian connection as well as a very good and close friend in the under 18's @ spurs
Leandro diamiao again been to the lodge, best friend sandro already at spurs! & spurs and internacional have asn affiliation
Erikson, turned down chelsea & city, big spurs fan and would move IF his requirements were matched? but has always stated he would be open to the move? (442 I think the article was in)
Muniain, flirted his talents to chelsea and spurs, praised both clubs and expressed a love of london
Marko Marin, nearly joined spurs last season and according to reports had not given up on the idea?
Llorente, still closely watched
Loic remy, being watched
Vertonghen, negotiations on going
Cahill, talks between clubs, possibly bassong going
Plus a few youth players!
Definitely no higuain or hazard etc, but the names above are correct as far as we HAVE ben told or know of...apologies for any remarks found not acceptable

Sorry mate, you state that these players of exceptional talent, are all spurs fans. Why in god's name would anyone be a spurs fan??
Im thinking your talking out of your backside mate!!

Well lads. Been told that Liverpool have been keeping a very close eye on Vaclev Kadlec. Also Liverpool scouts have been at a lot of Dinamo Zagreb's matches recently, i would say this is fairly common news, as a lot of other clubs have had scouts present their too. I assume we are watchin Milan Badelj, and probably Kovacic. But with Glen Johnson's future not so assured we could also be looking at the right back Sime Vrsaljko.
Has anyone else any got any info on this? What about you ed's?

KMK YNWA {Ed001's Note - we are actively seeking a right back, Johnson will be available for transfer in the summer, or so I am told.}

Wats wrong with johnson ed? isnt he playing well? {Ed001's Note - it is more contract issues, the issue being he has 'must play right back if fit' clauses, I am told. With England in the Euros in the summer, and his right back place under threat, he is not willing to compromise this season. As you can imagine Kenny is not too happy with that, it lessens his options.}

Surely Martin Kelly will just become first choice (should be now in my opinion), with Flanagan as back up? Or is the plan to move Kelly into CB? Cheers Ed

ToonRed

We have Kelly and Flanagan eds, surely we don't need another? Anyway, any chance of Gregory van der Wiel or Darijo Srna? Always rated those two highly

Keith YNWA {Ed002's Note - If a right back is being sort it is most unlikely to be VDW who is moving to Valencia or Srna.}

Very interesting insights. cheers for the insights. guessing that shows us that kels future is CB.....along with a mix of flanno being either not quite ready.....or needing more depth in that area anyway.

Inkoom should be our choice, he is very sound in defence and excellent in attack.
hes young, 22 and a ghana international.

seems happy to join liverpool " My agent is still locked in talks with my club and a scout of Liverpool and very soon a deal could be concluded,' said Inkoom.

˜Nothing has been decided yet on whether I will join Liverpool on loan or move permanently.

˜Liverpool is one of the biggest names in football and so if everything goes well and the Lord allows it, everyone will see where I am going and hopefully, it will be Liverpool, which will be a big step up for me.' " this was october.

and he'd be cheap at around 5-7m

All of those players are very good on football manager o.O

And we agreed to those clauses Ed? Good grief, do we like being taken for a ride or something?

Keith {Ed001's Note - we did because we needed one desperately at the time. Flanagan is now being tried in midfield, Kelly suffers too many injuries to be relied upon and so we have to buy.}

So ed do you think Vrsaljko is a viable option for us at right back? I know Arsenal are very interested in Kovacic, do you see any interest in him by us, i would imagine their is cause he is a player with fantastic potential. {Ed001's Note - I don't know much about either player, apart from FM players raving about them.}

Surprising, if Johnson is up for sale. But if it is, I wouldn't be very disappointed because he can't defend and according to ed, we can't put him in the midfield. {Ed001's Note - remember his wages are amongst the highest at the club as well, that money could be better spent than on a right back that can't defend when we have a better player in Kelly.}

Thanks Ed. I am a fan of Johnson, especially with his attacking play, although not sure now, but he didn't play against Chelsea did he?
Is this why we won't try him at RM like so many want, although I'm not so sure myself?

Keith {Ed001's Note - that wasn't the league mate, his contract only specifies league and European matches I believe. Yes, that is what is stopping the club from experimenting with him this season, he won't play anywhere else with the Euros coming up and competition for places. But, at least he will be putting in 100% effort to ensure he keeps his England place, so it is not all bad, not this season anyway. If he has a good tournament we might get a good fee.}

A little surprised w.r.t Johnson, Ed do you know why he signed a new contract a couple of months ago? To get a better price?

Richards {Ed001's Note - he signed an extension, there is a difference and it was all about his Euro place.}

Funny how Johnson Played all them games left back last season with no complaints and stated he would play anywhere for the team. Are you saying this clause was only put in when he extended. I think glen is a great proffesional and ha already thanked liverpool for the support through his injuries, I think he will should an would of played every game right back anyway this season when fully fit. It's his natural position and he's the best we have there. {Ed001's Note - no, I am saying he agreed to play there last season when the club was desperate and he had no real challenge to his place in the England team. But this season Walker has stepped up and is pushing him for his right back berth, he needs to play there to keep his place.}

08 Dec 2011 08:11:36
Hi eds! There is this rumour in Ghana linking us samuel inkoom who can play both rb and rm which the player himself confirmed liverpool are keeping watch on him. Can u clear any doubts on this . Great site. {Ed002's Note - I have no knowledge of it, but if the player has confirmed it ...}

08 Dec 2011 10:17:00
Ed is hulk a possible target for striker/right wing? They will never get 88m for him probably will go for 30-35m {Ed001's Note - not as far as I am aware, they might not get 88m but they would want over 40m or they will probably keep him.}

He is a great striker but may be too expensive, indeed. Hope, we'd be doing some business in january, as things are somehow getting bad.

He's actually not that great. He looks awesome on youtube, but if you actually watch Porto play, which i have over the last 2 seasons, he very rarely does anything. He linked up great with Falcao, Hulk is not a striker. We need someone who will put the ball in the back of the net, not another chance creator...

08 Dec 2011 09:54:32
Maxi to Arsenal in January for £4m.

08 Dec 2011 00:00:33
Macca, Can you confirm if we have any decent signings lined up for January? (don't have to name them) I suspect someone will need to be looked at considering our recent poor striking displays, thanks mate
