Hello Eds! I remember seeing Rodrigo being of interest to Atletico and Juventus. Is this still the case and do you know if there is any genuine interest in him from Liverpool?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - None but Atletico Madrid continue to show an interest in Rodrigo.}

Atletico would probably buy rodrigo if falcao left

Hi eds
Do you know if lfc have had marquinhos scouted. He'll of a defender for an 18yr old. I know city had an approach rejected. Personally I would swap him for Coates with a little fee on top. Your views? {Ed002's Note - Marquinhos has attracted the attention of Barcelona, Dortmund and Manchester United.}

we all spend a great deal of time on this site, particularly during the transfer windows. the Eds do their best to feed our insatiable appetite for information and Macca's comments are eagerly awaited.

as a regular visitor, I enjoy the banter and always wonder what type of people visit this site! I recently had the privilage of sharing the same room with a couple of current squad members and ex pros and joked about the fans frustrations about the lack of info that comes out of the club (good thing in many ways) driven by the desire to know about big plans and players we have so we can dream of bigger and better things in the horizon.

I mentioned this website several times and said the players, ex pros should visit it and make some comments. I was surprised to hear that at least one of the current squad and 2 ex pros know abt this site. I got the impression they too enjoy the banter and speculation of fans.

It is of course difficult to get anything by way of solid info from any of them but nonetheless, what I did manage to ascertain is that BR is here to stay for the long term. The owners have no appetite for change and so BR will get a good run out.

As many people have guessed, there will be changes in the summer with a number of squad players leaving. Sadly there will not be any marquee signings as we would like. Instead, it will be about players coming from second tier Euro leagues like the Dutch and Danish leagues with young players with better sell-on value.

Much will also depend on our own marquee players including Suarez, Aggar, Johnson etc staying. If they go, then there will be an even longer period before we see stability in terms of squad.

A number of championship players have been identified and this is sadly a sign of the times for the club with champs league football.

the ex pros are just as anxious as the rest of us to see progress but this will not happen overnight.

The one good thing to come out of the whole evening is that they all agreed that if Suarez stays (and we can fend off a mega offer), and add 2/3 players, then a serious push for champs league places can be made next season.

oh and Stuewart Downing will most definately leave in the summer. That will pave the way for a replacement and Andy Carroll will end up in Newcastle on way or another.

ShuMan

For someone that claims it hard to get info, you sure got a lot of it.

Don't knock the lower leagues mate, John Aldridge and others came from the lower leagues to fit in at LFC.

Either you've missed your life calling and should go speak to MI6, or these guys were pissing information (assuming of course that what you're saying has any truth whatsoever). However, it does seem unlikely that we are not looking at any players of more proven ability - if you think that our scouts are not watching the Spainish, Italian and German leagues then you are very simply wrong and if they believe that, so are they. Also, sign of the times without CL football that we have to look in the Championship? That's funny, because many EPL team and teams in the top tiers of Europe have never or rarely ever get into the Europa League and they don't have to restrict themselves to lower league shopping. I think somewhere along the line you might have gotten some wires crossed about the difference between places we are going to find players for now and the places being searched with a fine tooth comb for talent

The idea that current players themselves have an in depth knowledge of the clubs transfer policy and targets is, in itself, debateable. This post has little to no credibility, mainly because he said it's almost impossible to get information out of the club, only to reel off a load of information from within the club. On top of that the scouring of the Championship seems unlikely - Ince might be on our radar but any strengthening is just as likely to come from foreign leagues - we have a world class academy, a ton of youngsters coming though and British players (the ones we'd likely be eyeing up in the Championship) cost way more than there true value - from a economic perspective it makes little sense.

Hello eds
Do you think we will sign honda? Also what is the talk about Sanchez

Thanks big john {Ed001's Note - no, but I will keep hoping. As for Sanchez, it is a watching brief, most likely in case Suarez does leave.}

Hope we sign honda, he's got a great engine

Hey Ed (s).

Any interest in Andriy Yarmalenko? Think he'd suit our team, ideal replacement/upgrade to our RW over Downing. This lad has pace to burn, a good strike, and will add some much need height to the squad being 6' 2. 5". Averages over a goal every 3 games at club and international level too.

Lojr87 {Ed001's Note - I don't know of any interest from us.}

hi edds

if united were to get rid of rooney for about 25m and if suarez did leave do you think brendan might have a cheeky bid?

would he be any good in our pas and move system, I know he's from a rival and it would be against most fans wishes but if he gets us goals and works hard he could be a steal {Ed002's Note - No idea.}

This should be on the dodgy page

So you think we have a chance of getting Rooney? The 200k/w wages United and ex-Everton player who has repeatedly said publically he hates Liverpool, and from a club that traditionally refuses to sell us players (see Gabriel Heinze)

He is an Evertonian through and through and turned us down to go there as a kid, there is no chance, wouldn't want him anyway.

How would an Evertonian/United player every play for Liverpool? haha

That is the most stupid asumption/idea I have ever heard!

That is as bad as Gerrard joining Everton!

Swearing!!

Jamie

Wtf?? Rooney will be the new Torres, overpriced, past his best by at least 2 years, holding back the rest of the squad, so noooo waaay do we need him. And Rudolph would struggle to get rid, given the wages he is on. Let Chelsea have him, surely agent B can put a word in to RA for us.

07 Mar 2013 17:47:16
I think this would be great! Would love to see Rooney play for the Reds.

Have a word with yourself lad!

Best post I've seen in a long while on here. Brilliant. Made my day!

Tomaldo

I don't think you'd even be able to sign him in football manager never mind real life. even the game would know no way can that happen!

He's on near £300k a week with all the add on's!

He's over rated and only shines agains average teams.

Rather give Suarez an extra 80k a week!

Nicky D

Seriously? Rooney hates Liverpool and I don't think we need any United rejects to be honest. But then again 25mil is a much better bargain than a 35mil Carroll :P DAPred

Mate fergie will never sell us players forget rooney, even if we offer him more then 100M for rooney he will straight away reject it, he is not only a rival he hates Liverpool fc, when he took united job his first interview was how his going to knock Liverpool out of their fuc*ing pearch and destroy Liverpool rather then saying how his going to win trophys for united and take them foward that's how he hates Liverpool, he makesure that Liverpool couldn't be able to win league in his management at united whenever we have come close he has always tried to put us down first with houllier then Benitez, he didn't like it when benitez brought Champions league and finished 2nd, he straight away started targeting benitez in press and everyone knows what happen, he played the same game with Suarez, he even went to say how Liverpool should sell him for the sack of Liverpool reputation, when didn't happen started targetting suarez reputation and still doesn't leave any opportunity to keep suarez down or have a dig at Liverpool. {Ed039's Note - I dont think that just goes for Fergie, I think any Man United manager would begrudge selling a top player to Liverpool and vice versa, thats why both sides are fierce rivals. Thats how it works)

There is no way Rooney will come to Liverpool are you forgeting he is an Everton fan and hates our club

08 Mar 2013 09:29:52
Ed39 mate the big problem is red nose has big influence in British media, he has played every dirty ploy in media to destroy Liverpool, the way he behaves with refrees and still doesn't get punished its just a small example, everything goes in his favour in epl, the refree are so scared of him that they give him every decision in his favour, howard webb is big example. {Ed039's Note - I agree with some of what you are saying, I think he does have an influence over the officials and it shows, but I dont think he sets out in the media to destroy Liverpool TBH, thats just the rivalry shining through)

Ed's are u freaking kidding me. You don't see how he wants to DESTROY Liverpool. He knows that Suarez is a player that can destroy Manchester United so he tells us to sell him!. That is the biggest indicator. Whatever the situation, a rival manager has NO RIGHT whatsoever to tell other clubs how to do their business. Another thing, if he didn't want to destroy our club he would of said he wanted to overtake our league titles total and not abusively say what he said about knocking us off. Even if you asked Bayern Coach for next year Pep, he would say in a sporting manner that he would like Bayern to surpass Liverpool interms of CL trophies but not say it like he has intentions to destroy the club!. Tis ok though, Fergie is what makes Utd good, he leaves, Utd won't with another title FOR A LONG TIME. That is a fact!!. {Ed039's Note - How can you tell me everything that is wrong with him and how he shouldnt do things, and then say the only reason Man United win titles is because of him? Surely that points out the flaw in your reasoning. I am not a Red or a Manc but Fergie does get away with murder and seems to be untouchable, but he consistently puts a team out on the pitch that gets the job done and that is the sign of a great manager IMO. I dont think, despite anything he has said, he wants to bury LFC, because that wouldnt be good for anybody, he just has a desire and a will to win that can not be bettered by any Prem manager)

"when he took united job his first interview was how his going to knock Liverpool out of their fuc*ing pearch and destroy Liverpool rather then saying how his going to win trophys for united and take them foward "

Luckily he (SAF) manged both!

HB

Totally agree with Ed039, noname, you are talking nonsense.

SAF is a winner through and through and will do anything to win. If he sees a danger to his success he will look to eliminate that danger. Like he did with Benitez, they were actually friendly until Pool became more of a threat. He has done the same with Dalglish, Wenger and other's.

Does he use the media to his advantage? Of course he does - he is only able to do so because of the success he has earnt and like I said he will do (almost) anything to win.

The 'knocking Liverpool off their perch' comment was merely what every United fan would have wanted to hear, so SAF was just endearing himself to the fans as many manager's do - did you see 'This is Liverpool'?!

Ed039 said it best "how can you tell me everything is wrong with him and how he shouldn't do things, and then say the only reason MU win titles is because of him?" SAF is a winner, as easy as that. He is one of those people that you love if he's on your team as he does anything to win but you hate him if he's helping another team win.

Keisuke Honda. Quite possibly the stand out player of the 2010 World Cup. Could be available in the Summer for around 5-6 million Ed? I really hope the club sees the ability Honda possesses. 26 years old, has experience mixed with bags of ability. Could be the bargain of the season for whoever gets him. Go out and get him Brendan!

Cheers,
LS7. {Ed002's Note - It seems about the right figure - but will be pushed up depending on interest.}

I think considering he'll be on a free in the winter, CSKA will most likely cash in on the player like schalke did with holtby {Ed002's Note - It is nothing like the Holtby situation at all.}

According to local news Honda's contract runs out in the summer of 2013?

This is also being reported by several reliable media outlets.

{Ed002's Note - More reliable than me?}

Really hope we go for him. the kink of buy we need experiance + Quality and most importantly within our price range.

Hi Eds
maybe its just MOTD fever but.
what are real madrid's plans for diego lopez?
with Rina maybe leaving are we interested?
thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't see Lopez leaving RM.}

'Maybe' MoTD fever?
'Definitely' would be the appropriate word there mate.
Terrible shout that! Lol.
The Juicer

Didnt he only join them in January? Quality keeper though, actually gave Villareal a fighting chance when they didn't have a single striker last year

Seriously, are you wonderring him play for Liverpool?

Hello Eds,
1. Is our interest in carlos zambrano true?
2. Is it true that Heung Min Son is close to signing a contract renewal?
Shame if true as he would have been the perfect player at RW and probably for around 6-8 million. {Ed002's Note - (1) I am not so sure interest would be the right term. (2) I am not aware that he is.}

Sry Ed but couldn't get your response for the first question.
Is our interest real or was it just us scouting him like a lot others. {Ed002's Note - A number of clubs, including Liverpool, have been looking at Hamburg's Heung Min Son for the past year. Certainly Spurs, Sunderland, Lille and West Ham have had him watched on more than one occasion leading up to the end of last year and Spurs had a bid turned down in January. Since the New Year some interest has been shown by Dortmund, Manchester United, CSKA Moscow and Chelsea, who would look to a deal that sees a player as part of an offer. Hamburg would like to keep him and I expect him to move in the summer, but a move to Chelsea or Manchester United could see him sat on the bench and that may not be what he wants.}

You say that we make a move for a winger in case stuff happens with downing and assaidi. Have we been interested in Diego Perroti, Dimitri Payet or Susaeta recently. I know we were linked to some of them a while back. Thanks eds {Ed002's Note - Not recently.}

07 Mar 2013 11:21:20
Love this site.
You guys do a brilliant job.
I just wanted to know why we're not giving Assaidi more of a chance. Every time I see him play he really looks a threat. Do you think we will get rid of him? {Ed001's Note - he struggled to fit in, that is all it is. He spoke no English at all and he was simply not able to tell what the shouts meant. I expect him to get a bit more game time as the season goes on, I also expect him to stay for next season too, unless he wants to leave.}

Thanks man.
Makes total sense.
He's going to be world class in my opinion
