Hi there eds and reds!

I read somewhere we are keeping taps on
Todd cantwell from norwich (which reminds a lot with one Previous red called MCMANAMAN! )
I wouldn't mind seeing him in red shirt!

But do we actually have any interest?

Many thanx.

I really liked Emi Buendia from their team. Really he would be good option if he they went down. What do you think Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - good but not convinced he is good enough to get in our squad, let alone team.}

We have Jones.

How do you rate Cantwell Ed? Can't say I've watched a Norwich game in full this season (ours discluded) but he's picked up a few goals and assists, been a gem in my fantasyvteam!

Cantwell also reminds me of a certain Youssi Benayoun. And I like his dance moves too! Lol!
But is the rumor legit?

Haven't actually watched enough of Cantwell to know if he's any good, but he's a real gem in FPL.

The only similarity between Cantwell and McManaman is the hair! He’s a good player but a worker with quality. Macca was a gem of a player with the ball at his feet. He glided past players with ease. Cantwell is just not that kind of player in the slightest. Looking like someone does not make you play like them.

{Ed025's Note - steve was a very good player for the reds BP, unfortunately his stint with the national side was less so, as effective as an an ash tray on a motorbike would be the right comparison mate.. :)

Surely we are not going too let wijnaldum go without offering a contract, one of klopps go to men and a vital cog in the machine, if he wants to leave it's another story but replacing him will be difficult he has become one of the first players on the team sheet .

The man has 18 months left on his contract. There is talk of him moving in the summer, but there may well be a contract offer on the table by then. Who knows? But talk of him going is about 18 months premature.

I like Gini a lot but it’s the position I least worry about replacing. Fab is holding, Hendo/ Milner in Ginis role with Ox/ Keita etc in the AM role. Still hope he stays and 18 months is a long time to sort something out. No worries.

Gini has been outstanding this season, can’t believe Klopp would be happy for him to leave, for me he’s undoubtedly in our starting XI.

I sincerely hope he stays and suspect he’ll get something soon based on how often Klopp turns to him in the big matches. His ability to protect the ball when under pressure is invaluable against the top sides where it doesn’t all go our way.

Can't see him going anywhere to be honest, he's a player that Klopp can rely on and I would think it's only a matter of time before a new contract is signed.

I can see him going as this rumour has just come out of the blue. I like him a lot but he's 29yo with 18 months on his contract, let him leave and hopefully jones will get some more game time.

Gini has said he is happy at Liverpool and a contract will be discussed soon.

Gini plays as many games as he can really, and has been fantastic for us in recent times. I can’t see any reason why he’d want to leave or we would want him too.

Could it be that he's grown frustrated perennially playing defensively in the Klopp system when he could really thrive as an offensive midfielder like he is in his national team? That's the one thing I worry about personally.

An agreement will surely be reached with Gini. A recent article about our squad wages has him as one of our lowest earners in the first team squad. I guess it's all going to come down to negotiating a wage that both we and he are happy with.

A national newspaper has published the wages of Liverpool players, and I think most would agree that Gini is being paid quite a low figure (£3.9 million per anum according to the paper) considering that he's often a key part of the midfield.

No idea how he's making ends meet, EpicPotato.

I'm more intrigued that mane is on half of salah and miles behind bobby I'd of thought the three should be on similar money I know the yearly salary is more than I could earn in a lifetime but I would be pissed if someone joined my place of work after me does the same job and earns double what I do doesn't seem right.

Mane only signed that last season too and he could probably have demanded double but that's an example of his character. He's not greedy or ego driven, he's humble and genuine. He spends a huge amount building schools etc back in Senegal and has never shown that greed affects his career. I saw a picture lately of him holding his phone which was an outdated old iphone with the screen cracked to bits, haha he seems too modest to demand a huge salary.

Similar to ngolo kante who didn't care what wages were being offered and he shows up to training in a 2nd hand hatchback car I can't remember which model but the story was hilarious, i love hearing rare stories of how top class footballers carry themselves without letting money affect them.
