Eds can you let me know whats the story with bellamys contract did we only sign him for a year or has he a year left and do you thing he is going to be part of BR plans

{Ed006's Note - He signed for 2 years, I would be suprised to see him leave.}

Bellamy has one more year left on his contract

I know you can prove anything with statistics, but Bellamy created more scoring chances per minutes played than any other players in the team last season (Luis was 2nd). I'm sure he will see out his contract and hopefully be our super-sub. -SH-

Ed, how possible is it for us to get those players :Matias Suarez, Gylfi Sidgursson, Iker muniain. Any slight chance we could get all 3?

{Ed006's Note - If we got Suarez and Muniain together I would eat my knee caps. Sigurdsson looks likely.}

Ed if we did get muniain cud u show us the vid of u eating ur knee caps?

Hah great reply ed :)

BLANCO7

I will hold you to that ed!

I've eaten Patella before ed and it's lovely, especially on toast. Not many calories too.

Get your goat legs on ! ;)

I'll cut your work-load in half there ed006, i'd be happy to eat one of your kneecaps for you.

With Steve Clarke now gone, what would be the possibility of Jamie carragher becoming B.Rs number 2??

What do you think EDs, MACCA

{Ed006's Note - I have no idea. I would only like to see Carra no.2 if he retired first.}

No Carragher will carry on playing

That is what I ment as I Belive he is to old... His head still wants to do it but the body cant keep up...

Thank you eds

OxRED

I also know it is very unlikely but I don't think it would be the worst appointment... Young an every1 knows and respects him, he needs to start somewere an why not here?? He has spent his footballing life at Liverpool an not many people I can think of would try harder to succeed than him...

OxRED

I think Carra would be another Roy Keane in tems of players not living up to his standards

He already has a number 2. I think it is the guy who was with him at Swansea,forgotten his name now but I think his role is "Assistant Manager" like in the old days.
CR

Cara as a number 2 may result in tika-waka!

And to add to the above, his assistant is colin pascoe (I think...)

What has Carragher done to deserve being made Rodgers assistant? stop being so sentimental, people are employed in jobs because they demonstrate quality in that job, Carra needs to leave the club and see how he progresses on his own as a coach, if he does a good job then in the future he can come back, but before that he needs to retire as he is past it.

Colin Pascoe.

Stu.

I'd like pep to be number 2

Quick question Eds - would any move for Gylfi Sigurdsson effectively end our interest in Rasmus Elm?

{Ed006's Note - I think that has already ended to be honest. I would much rather have Sigurdsson anyway.}

Agree with ed6. elm does not fit with br's style. wud love to see adam leaving as well.

I would love both tbh. I think we need two more centre mids after loaning Shelvey, selling Adam, Aquilani and Spearing.

Elm is another charlie adam, except looks a little (ok more than a little) leaner

06 Jun 2012 18:06:41
Hi eds, was just wondering what striker do you think we are must likely to get out of De Jong, Soldado and Giroud? And who do you think would fit in to Rodgers' style of play the best?

{Ed006's Note - Soldado purely because he is Spanish.}

Soldado is class get him !!

Iv always wanted soldado, my fav Striker in da world and he is most likely to come to Liverpool, yes!!! {Ed016's Note - no one said that mate}

Soldado purely because he is Spanish? Why?

I see de jong as more likely purely because he is at a smaller club and wouldnt cost as much, plus i wouldnt be suprised if we were to put a bid in for soldado and then another big club possibly bigger than us pops up and then we start a bidding war which we dont really want to happen..

On that basis ed, i'd say De Jong because he's Dutch.

Eds reply is for the 2nd question

06 Jun 2012 17:12:39
Hey Eds, are you aware of any interest for Raul Garcia of Atletico Madrid? He was on loan at Osasuna and had a very good season. I've tried the search function but came up with nil. Thanks in advance!

Brian from Birmingham

{Ed006's Note - I havent got any news mate sorry. Dont think we are interested.}

06 Jun 2012 18:47:22
Steve Clark just left #LFC

ShottskiLFC.

He was a good striker for us. Shame he didn't score as many goals.

LOL to those people who clicked on 'Unbelievable' for this post. Perhaps you want to check the BBC Sport website... :)

Rich P

Yes it's on the sky website

Well done Clarke. All the best for the future. Worked very well as defensive coach

hey ed(s) whats the development on the two mexican banditos(marco bueno,hector herrera)is there still interest or has it died down cos they where daglish targets?

I read that brendan rodgers was sitting down with the scouts the day after he was appointed to talk about possible players/transfers. Even tho they was daglish targets would they of got a mention? I also read that man u are sniffing round them so would prob hav to act pretty quick.lol

ACHILLES. {Ed001's Note - Rodgers has been given full access to all the scouting dossiers and the list of previous targets to look over. No idea if he will completely change things, or if he will want to move for the same players.}

Wow that dossier must be some read,,214 young talented players scouted,,bids 0

Cheers again Ed001 top man!

ACHILLES.

Hi ed's

1. Do you know which teams are interested in signing Aquilani?

2. Is there a chance of LFC releasing Aquilani in order to get him off the wage bill if Rodgers decides he is not in the plan going forward as at this point it doesn't look like any team wants this injury prone and fussy Italian?

Why the hell we signed him is beyond me. {Ed001's Note - 1. no, sorry. 2. I think that may well end up being the best solution for everyone.}

But aquilani is a good passer of the ball and would suit Rodgers plans fairly well unless he's an attacking minded midfielder because well have sigurdsonn and gerrard {Ed016's Note - every summer.. I hate Aquilani}

Of course - why on earth would a manager with a reputation of trying play good football on the ground want an Italian footballer that can actually control a ball first time, instead of our current crop of players who's second touch is normally a foul .

Nobody got a real chance with the waiter - apart from Crouch maybe, who played nearly 20 games continuous before scoring his first goal for us, whilst a world class striker never got a chance, only playing a bit part. And people ask me why I didn't like Benitez as our manager - simple answer - he was clueless.

John B

John B

Got rid of Alonso through hunting Barry who can't even polish Charlie Adam's shoes and then wasted money on a player who is now unwanted...

Benitez dug his grave and is still without a job. Enough said.

Aquilani is crap if you cant see this you know nothing about football

majestic69

Fiorentina

Benitez was a class act It shows how little some folks on here know about football. Aqualani is also a very good player he was used sparingly due to his injury but looked good when he came on. Wish we had him this season gone to be honest great eye for a pass and excellent first touch ( maybe lightweight for the prem but i think he would have adapted ). I would have liked to have seen him linking with Suarez. Lastly Benitez looked to Barry after a very poor season from Alonso why do people have such selective memories.

What? Poor season from Alonso? Are you referring to the 08/09 season? Don't make me laugh. Alonso was the engine to the team Benitez built. When Rafa got rid of Alonso the team saw its arse. The fact that Rafa wanted to replace Alonso with Barry just shows how the manager had lost the plot. This is one player we should have never got rid of. When Aquilani was signed he hardly even set foot on the pitch even when he was fit to play. I can remember one match where Aquilani was fit to play but was on the bench resting his feet up in the air listening to music. This transfer was an absolute joke and waste of money.

One thing is for sure, as long as FSG are around, Rafa will never set foot near the Anfield hot seat and it is better that way.

Aqua got to be one of the biggest wastes of money in the history of the prem!

Aquliani has to be the worst piece of transfer business LFC have done in the last decade.

S.G.L.

Benitez's Buys got markedly worse as his reign went on, culminating in the lazy, precious dog that is Aquilani. Thank god Rafa never got the job again.

Before people mention his good buys, remember that in the last season our defence consisted of, at times, Insua, Deggen, and Kyriakos, all his buys.

And with aquilani sitting in front of that lot....god help us.

David

Ac Milan

Might be injury prone (but played more games then Gerrard this past season), might be fussy (but much better then what's currently available in midfield)

{Ed022's Note - Brand new Player-Profile on Gylfi Sigurdsson. I've had to rapidly do this profile for you Liverpool fans due to the amount of requests i've received for him in the past 2 days (over 30 requests). My opinion on where he will end up, when etc is on the profile, and can be found at www.player-profiles.co.uk - cheers all.}

Yes dummy but sigurdsson doesnt have tosign the contract u clown and is unlikely to now rogers have left and may be interested in signing him for liverpool

Thanks Ed022

Thanks ed22, the effort you put in with these player profiles is greatly appreciated.
mellor

Ed022, any chance you could do a player profile on me? Thanks ;)

Shinji Kagawa

Don't understand how you can have the balls to publish your opinion on players when it is stuff like he is not the fastest but fairly quick means nothing are you a politicion

You're the best!

Guys, I think you're all getting a little mixed up regarding Sigurdsson's status. A transfer cost has been agreed with Hoffenheim and Swansea (around £6.8M I believe) but contract talks have fallen through between Swansea and Gylfi after Rodgers has left the club. It is to be seen if the new manager for Swansea wants to sign Sigurdsson before the the full transfer goes ahead and a contract is agreed or not. Only if the new Swansea decides not to sign him, will Brendan Rodgers submit an offer out of courtesy, he will not 'sabotage' the deal.

Hope I've made things clear.

Olly J R.

Yes, because Sigurdsson knows that he can get a move to Liverpool, but he'd choose to agree a contract with Swansea instead.

Makes sense, thank you for wasting your time.

Don't think that is strictly true. Rodgers HAS made it clear HE will not sabotage any deal between Swansea and Sigurdsson, but if Sigurdsson decides he no longer wants to go to Swansea then Rodgers has not sabotaged any deal and would sign the player if a deal is no longer in place between the player and Swansea

Been widely reported that the lad doesn't see his future at Swansea and he is of course allowed to pull out until contracts are signed which they are not. Therefore we are not waiting on a decision from Swansea boss whoever that may be

Sigurdsson himself said he doesn't expect to go to Swansea yesterday.

Martin

Coming out and stating he was interest is 'sabotage' in the easiest manor.

I think you are the one getting mixed up Olly but hey,I could be wrong.

'the new swansea' your itk........andy.

Haha i think u olly are getting confused

"Gylfi Sigurdsson says he would be tempted by a move to Liverpool FC to play under former manager Brendan Rodgers, having revealed he no longer wants to join Swansea City." Daily Post

You can't get it any clearer than that. He wants to sign for us! Singred

Sigurdsson says that he no longer wants to sign for swansea because brendan left. simple as that. Now he will join LIVERPOOL!
YNWA

LOL at the first reply!

Adam

I'm afraid you are a bit behind the times regarding this issue mate, Sigurdsson has stated Rodgers leaving has changed things and would be interested in a move to Liverpool, there's no Swansea obstacle to overcome.

Phil Belfast

Just read Rodgers statement saying he won't pilfer from Swansea except players not on their books as in gylfi siggi. Plain as day. Duh! Shake your head olly.

06 Jun 2012 16:11:20
eds any chance of belhanda {Ed002's Note - There is confirmed interest in Belhanda from Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal and PSG and there is unconfirmed interest from Roma. The player says he wishes a move to Italy or Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Italy Germany is not possible (seems he is not really sure where he wants to move to). A price of 30M euros has been quoted by Montpellier.}

Overpriced. He's a good player, but not that spectacular.

No what are you on about

He looks a real prospect but i agree 30 million is alot of dosh !!

06 Jun 2012 16:08:41
ed 02, you say that liverpool have asked to be kept informed about two players and one being boudebouz but who is the other player. wud love an answer. thanks. {Ed002's Note - Rasmus Elm.}

His brother is join him today in AZ .

06 Jun 2012 15:23:14
Eds do you have any info with regards to levezzi? Is he on the move? Where to? And have Liverpool got any chance at all ? Thanks
Kp {Ed002's Note - There is no chance of a move to Liverpool but there is interest in Lavezzi from several clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit, PSG, Shakhtar, Inter and AC Milan. I think it would take a very high cash offer - more than 30M euros, some trading or a third-party ownership deal bid to get Napoli to sell the player who is unwilling to extend his existing contract which runs to 2015. Inter have offered 15M euro plus Marco Faraoni, Goran Pandev and Joel Obi but that offer is not acceptable to Napoli. Further bids have been made by Shakhtar and PSG although PSG said that their bid is really an exploration to see if a lower fee would be accepted. These are being considered by Napoli but I suspect that there is every chance that a deal with PSG will be negotiated and completed reasonably soon.}

He is going to Parlemo due to one player's girlfriend stating it on twitter, a twist could be PSG. DanieRed

100% going to PSG.

Zaraz

Hello Ed002. I watched the Napoli/Juve Italian Cup final. The commentator (cant remember his name). Said that PSG had agreed to pay Lavezzi's buyout clause. If this is true, do you know how much it is?

And do you still think that we redevelop or have you heard anything lately concerning.a new stadium? I only ask mate because there's rumours concerning both.

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - The fee to be paid is about 31M euros Blair. I have heard nothing of a new stadium and remain of the opinion that Anfield will be fettled. Any new build will require a lot of work via planning.}

06 Jun 2012 15:15:00
Ed022
1. with Sigurddson probably joining us we surely need to sell a CM or two who are the most likely ?
2. Do we have any solid interest in ryad boudebouz. As I think he could be a great buy for RM especially for the Fee mentioned if we dont get Gaston Ramirez
3. Is Carra in the last year of his contract. if so do you see us offering him an extension ? Don't you feel both wisdom and Sama are ready for 1st team action.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME {Ed002's Note - (1) I cannot say who is the most likely and I suspect that the manager would want to look at the team before deciding. (2) Ryad Boudebouz will leave Sochaux with Real Betis and Lyon showing an interest. Way back in the day interest was shown by PSG, Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. Lyon would seem to be the most likely destination right now although he is one of the two players that I understand Liverpool have recently asked to be kept informed of. As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him. (3) Yes and I doubt it.}

In regards to Carra will he or has he been offered a role at the club upon his retirement? I know that Steven Gerrard has but was wondering if the same will be afforded to Carra.

AndyKopLiverpool

I am sure the manager will want to get to know the players personally s.a.p. but I am sure he has a pretty good idea of what they are capable of by watching videos of past games.

06 Jun 2012 15:14:03
I thought we had a deal in place for around £7M for the Swedish player Elm?To join us this summer.What happend to that?Was he a Dalglish wanted only player? {Ed002's Note - There was no deal made but it is stil possible that tehre could be interest.}

Wher but remember Dalglish got sacked?

I don't think he would suit Rodger's style of football. Plus, i think he is too similar to adam, albeit a better version.

06 Jun 2012 15:07:45
any chance of Tonny Emilio Trindade de Vilhena brilliant young midfielder who currently plays for feyenoord scored 9 goals in 10 hames for netherlands under 17s brilliant prospect an chance of hime signing
thanks
lfc liam {Ed002's Note - No chnce this summer.}

Pity that's the big name every is looking for

06 Jun 2012 14:39:08
hi ed, are sigurdsson, boudabouz and de jong our most realistic signings?
cheers
Scott_197 {Ed002's Note - They are all possible.}

06 Jun 2012 14:24:49
Sorry eds as i read more bout de bruyne just out to loan not sellin.. Derrr lol.. Damn journos n their word play {Ed002's Note - De Bruyne is a Chelsea player who may spend next season on loan to gain experience.}

He's a chelsea player. that makes him a money grabbing git do you want him at lfc ?

06 Jun 2012 14:04:45
Hello ED's! , I've seen a lot of Dempsey rumors flying around lately about us being linked with him , do you know if it is any actual interest in us signing him? and also do you think we may look at any of the Villarreal players since the team got relegated?

much Appreciated JD. {Ed002's Note - I am told that Dempsey will come up for sale there will certainly be interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Spurs and a couple of German sides. Age and cost has to be a consideration of course. I cannot think of available Villareal players that interest Liverpool.}

Borja Valero perhaps?

RedSG {Ed002's Note - Borja Valero came close to signing for Chelsea last summer, but in the end Chelsea decided against it. This year the interest is coming from Malaga and Napoli.}

06 Jun 2012 14:00:24
Question for the Ed.
I understand that the PL window is open now but the European window doesn't open until July 1. So how come MUFC have signed Kagawa and CFC have signed Hazard? Or is it that they have not really signed them but have agreed in principle?

Sorry if this has been aske already.Kev1950 {Ed002's Note - They have agreed to join - but not completed their transfers.}

My understanding is that you can sell a player at any time as long as the buying club are within the transfer window of their respective Association - remember us trying to flog Alberto Riera in Feb/Mar to anyone in Russia who would take him a few seasons ago? {Ed002's Note - Their international transfer window - not their domestic window. The INternational transfer window does not open for most European countries until July 1.}

06 Jun 2012 13:34:26
Who i think we need:
Soldado: 20m
Munain: 24m
Sigurdsson: 6.8m

If Rodgers can nail those signings i would expect big things next year...

They would cetainly be great signings, but please stop expecting "big things", especially next season. Let Rodgers have to space in which to develop his team without the expectation of instant results. I would rather see progression in terms of consistent, positive football.

Look we spent 35 million on carroll so we will stick with him and spend smaller money on competition for him rather than 20 million on soldado
derryred

Lets hope that Soldado is agitated by his omission from the National team and chooses to leave Spain. He doesn't look like a physically gifted striker, but he is strong in the air, has quick feet and seems grounded. He would be awesome on LFC.

We are more than 3b players away from a good squad mate.

Why Soldado and Munain

My thinking is not that these signings would immediately lead to "success" or a "good squad" but it would vastly improve us in required areas. Soldado would provide the finishing we need, sigurdsson with attacking threat from midfield and Munain with the flair and pace in wide areas we sorely miss.

Where did you pull them figures from?

Rob

cole
johnson
aqualani
maxi
pacheco
all should go thats around 17m a year saved on wages add the 4m saved on kuyt thats 21m just on wages saved

DORSET RED

So with Cole already set to be staying...

You must be having a laugh about selling all of these players, considering we are in Europa league and then have PL games two days later we need a large squad!

I genuinely think cole can play a big role for us next season He certainly has the skill to play several roles in Rodgers system.

Why would we want to sell Glen Johnson

U need a reality check mate, if you had mentioned;
Downing
Adam
Henderson
I would take you seriously.

Downing, henderson and adam have spoiled our last season and also cost kenny's job. but i am surprised to see the very few actually want to get rid of them. at least adam and downing have to go. {Ed016's Note - Playing Hendo on the right more like}

Cole and johnson on about 90k which is 4.68m a year each kuyt was on bout 80k sme with aqua so rhat say 4m each maxis on about 60k and pacheco 15k so round about 21m.cole wont be there nealy 30 doesnt do mich on 90k.DORSET RED

Those players need replacing by better players though, who will also be on a fairly high salary.

Glen Johnson? Why?

No to johnson or aquilani and give pacheco a couple of games first, instead:
carragher
maxi
cole
downing
adam
and one of Doni or Jones

06 Jun 2012 13:21:08
Sigurdsson
Soldado
Muniain
will sign for us

Yous are all munian mad ,lol. after looking at him during the europa final he's not a player i would be paying 20+m for, looks a bit of a lightweight to me

He's lightweight? He's only 19. By the time he reaches 23, he'll be a superstar! JackD

If he's as good a player as you are making out surely barca and madrid will snap him up. as ive said ive only seen him once in the europa league final and he dosent strike me as a future superstar far from it.....either does hazard...pair of lightweights, steven gerrard was a far more imposing player at that age

No they won't

06 Jun 2012 13:07:56
for me its gotta be
affelay 7m
muniain 20m
luuk de jong 12m
maybe
martinez 25m, sissokho-12m

Muniain and martinez would both cost at least 10 mill more each

A. Johnson 16M
Soldado 30M
Sygg 7M
Moses 10M

06 Jun 2012 12:54:03
hi EDs what are the chances out of 10 to get muniain? In my opinion he would be perfect for us and he has pace, something we lack, and how much he will cost? please answer me {Ed002's Note - Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao in January - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Roma interest is still there and rumours abound of Juventus and Malaga interest but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

06 Jun 2012 12:52:10
Ed hope u can answer because I'm a bit confused

A few weeks a go we looked pretty nailed on to sign muniain but now it's slim, could you give us an idea on who's more likely to join. Cheers ed great site! {Ed002's Note - I cannot say who is likely to join. You will find from the start I have never said that there was more than a slim chance of signing Muniain.}

06 Jun 2012 12:41:17
out of ten what are the chances of
Elm
Siggursson
Schurrle
luke de jong
soladao
of coming to liverpool

So tired of people asking this. If the Eds knew they wouldn't have had a rumours forum.

Schurrle looks to be a real talent !!

Would love to have all of them...

Sigurdson has been approached and looks very likely.

Rodgers also will put in a bid for Adam Johnson.

We wont be going after Adam Johnson.....believe me mate.

No he wont, Johnson is off to Everton.

I hope both statements are true

We need both, would love Adam Johnson to come to Liverpool

I hope not. Far too hit amd miss with a bad attitude

Noone knows nothing apart from rodgers himself, the liverpool board and the other parties

Johnson is great. Get it mates! Far to good for Everton, we should bid for him

Johnson is a very good player ... A bad attitude can be changed
LLCOOLJM

Mourinho had Robben to cut in from the wing and play as part of the three man attack, Johnson is quite similar (expect his inability to last 90 mins).

So i think Adam Johnson does make a lot of sense. I'm not sure if Rodgers would take him if he didn't think his mentality was 100% right.

Has sigurdsson been approached? Where's the source for this

Would love to see johnson play for us great player

Why does everyone go on about Adam Johnson. I have only seen him play a couple of decent games (one against us). He's overrated. Greedy, poor delivery. He would be an ever present at MC and England if he was up to standard - and even Henderson can get picked for the England squad!

Johnson is good but there are a lot of better players who could be realistic to get

If he can't get into manks city team he shouldn't be able to get into ours, well if we want to be at their level but soz to say this but we are nowhere near

Pool should sign biabany ynwa

Bloomberg reports LFC prepare £10m bid for Victor Moses

not sure on his end product myself

Shushyboy

Hes got to be better than stewart downing (the most over rated player in the world)

Victor moses is out of contract so why would we bid ten million...

Do you have a link. I've both googled it, and searcheed their website, but nothing?

Thanks

Burnsy

Sure dave whelan will confirm this on sly sports news if true

He is better than Downing, but he is still not good enough for Liverpool, and certainly not for £10m.

I dont think hes worth that much, fairly average player tbh..

Wouldnt like to see him at Liverpool - would rather Affellay or Boudebouz - better options in my mind with the same price bracket.

I wonder where Bloomberg heard it from? Can't see it happening myself, we can do better with the money.

He is out of contract!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's Bloomberg? {Ed022's Note - Lol.}

LOL @ the Sly Sports shout for Dave Whelan.

Great signing if true

He is not out of Contract - the likes of Rodallega and Diamme are the ones out of contract.

Zaraz

10 million for an out of contract player makes no sense what so ever

This is not true as Dave Whelan would of already rang sly news to let them know that a 9.6 million pound bid had came in on the tuesday at 10.31am, just after he'd eaten his beans on toast.

I believe he has a year left on his contract..

Also can't see Dave Whelan doing business with us.

Hoola

He isn't out of contract! Got one more year left an talks broke down earlier this year so will probably move this summer.

The cherry picker

I watched Moses for Palace on numerous occasions as my local club - he is a fantastic player and would be a quality signing. However, this rumour seems to have no legs as not on Bloomberg as far as I can see!

I think "sly sports" was a typo if you at where the "L" and "K" keys are :P.

On Moses, logically it may make sense since Wigan try to play a similar way to Swansea at times, but Rodgers is away right now so any rumour probably doesn't have legs. Except for Sig's but only based on the fact he hasn't signed the agreement with Swansea on account of Rodgers not being manager any more, plus an ed on here has also suggested this move is more likely than not to happen.

Cheers,
TommyB

Hey Palace is my local club too nice to see im not the only liverpool fan at the palace and moses it a great talent he is young too and with the right manager can only get better.

Couldn't find anything on Bloomberg...

But they were the first on every single thing Liverpool have done this summer. About 24-48 hours before it was revealed etc

KKM... {Ed002's Note - Bloomberg pull near a of their sports news from the wire services (AP) and other sources and by the nature of their sports reporting will not be first with Liverpool news.}

Moses is absolute garbage, end product no where near LFC standard, moses to LFC lol

Looks like BB got it on the wire from allafrica.com.....as eds say nothing insider about it all Press associations recycling

Hi eds, is it likely at all that we will sign diame? got to be better than spearing and on a free we can't go wrong {Ed022's Note - There is a chance.}

We couldnt go wrong on joe cole on a free ! lol. but agree diame would be worth a go

I've always said I'd like him purely as a back up to Lucas and can also play Europa and carling cup (or summit like that)

Rudi Garcia (Lille manager) has said that Joe Cole is staying at Liverpool

We all know that f*** nut

Not if Rodgers wants to sell him, he is the Liverpool manager after all.

Also, why did the second poster get so angry about it lol I thought we were all on the same team here?

Hello Eds,
if Agger or Skrtel leaves, are there any chances of Subotic or Lescott as replacement or will LFC look to other players?thanks {Ed022's Note - No chance of Lescott, and a very very very slim chance of Subotic.}

That is a stupid question! Lescott was a key factor in winning the league this season. why would they sell him? that would be like us selling gerrard after istanbul. and Subotic is at a level were any team looking for a defender will be linked with him. he coould take a real, ac, barca move easily so why go lfc?

Not sure if it has already been posted but it appears that Isla is on his way to Juventus. sly Italia have been reporting it.

Not so much a rumour just fact, sigurdsson has said his transfer to swansea is off because he wants to sign for liverpool. Looks nailed on that he will be brendans 1st signing..what do people think?? Philly. {Ed022's Note - He didn't say it is off, he just said things had changed. As I said yesterday, I believe Sigurdsson will now end up at Liverpool and will be one of our first summer-signings.}

We allready have an overcrowded midfield to pic from Ed, I agree it looks like he is coming but, as spearing for me failed to take his oppotunity as cover for Lucas I would say it was now best for him to move but there must be others? A place on the Bench for henderson would be a massive step back this season. How exactly do you see the midfield then? {Ed022's Note - Cole, Aquilani and Spearing will likely move on from Liverpool mate. I believe the midfield will be:

Lucas
Sigurdsson Henderson

Now, I leave Gerrard out on the basis that he hasn't got the fitness he once had and struggles to play week in, week out. But I would expect there to be some rotation policy where Henderson would swap with Gerrard. Adam for me will probably not get much game time and be sold in January.}

He has said its off

Hey ed's, Can we sign every player on the "player profile" page? Would you mind sending the list to JH and BR please. Thanks. {Ed005's Note - They are just profiles - and I'm afriad that wouldn't be possible mate.}

just wanted to ask the eds whats all this talk of andre schurrlee (sp). are we actaully intrested like proper interest or is just nonsense. and if we are intersted is there a chance of him wanting to join us.

thnx if your reply eds. {Ed022's Note - We had him scouted a year or so back, but interest has died down since. It's probably because I player-profiled him and I noted that Liverpool were interested.}

I think Ed022 rates the lads ability very highly, he admits it in the player's profile, so there is no hidden agenda.

I personally think the lad isn't as good as others, but that's me, i watched him a few times this season, as i've been stuck watching a lot of German football (one of my house mates is German).

He's a bit like Podolski in terms of being played out wide, when it's not his best position. But i think LFC could buy a better winger, if we needed one, or buy a better striker, again if we needed one.

Although i'd be more than happy if we got him, and i'd be even more happy if i were having to eat my words cause the lad went on to score 15 goals in his 1st season, then 20 in his second. I also think he'll want to stay within Germany for at least a few years yet as he's only 21.

hi eds what do you think the chances of spearing being at the club next season are? tbh i think he could be another lucas who will take a few years to prove how good he is {Ed022's Note - I believe he could well be sold this summer.}

Spearing is nothing like Lucas. Lucas is a Brazilian international and is class. Spearing has been at the club for years and has shown nothing. He just doesn't have the talent and must go.

He's not even Prem quality, our youth system is shocking

Spearing is not good enough for us when he was picked for the chelsea final lampard must have been made up . red mick tag

I think that statement about our youth system is shocking! Look at the likes of sterling, suso, eccleston, wisdon, coady on the verge of the 1st team and not to mention Kelly, Flanagan and Robinson who have already got into the 1st team on numerous times... We have talented youth, they need to be given the chance now! but in all fairness Spearing just doesn't cut it

How is our youth system shocking ,have you not seen the likes of Sterling,Suso,Kelly,Amoo,Pacheco,Morgan,Ngoo,Flanagan,Wisdom,Coady,Toni Silva Your just a plastic fan that don't know nothing about our wonderful youth system

I agree Spearing failed to take his chance last season and may move on,possibly to a Championship club, but our youth system is not "crap" it is in fact quite good but I agree it could improve which I believe it will as the club changes it's style of play slightly and with the driving force of a new manager
CR

Mate your mistakingly thinking he is still a kid which a lot on here do. Lucas was the youngestever winner of the Bola de ouro an honour won by Zico, Falcao, Kaka and Tevez in the past, he ues to play in a much more advanced role and Rafa decided to convert him to a holding player. At the age of 20 in a foreign country asked to play a knew role in a new league and with a load of so called fans doing nothing but slag him off, he has become one of the best in that position in the world and is a regular for brazil with over 20 caps.
Spearing has a handfull of games for us and only plays because of injuries to better players and the fact he is a scouser. He is only a little younger than lucas, and I hold the lad no bad feelings but he would have established himself by now. Maybe he just needs a move, but dont compare every player that just isnt good enough to lucas.

You all sound like united fans can't have a bad word said against one of our players, Lucas is above average at best! He played two good games last season until he got injured and the season before was average with everyone around him playing poor, which made him look better.

Hope so - do not see what Dalglish saw in him. Shelvey has even shown he is a better player then him so i do not understand why he plays even if it is to cover lucas

If you believe Lucas is above average at best, you fail to understand fully the role that he or any DM plays.

TSP

I believe spearing will be at the club next season

Try telling brazilian people lucas is jus above average he is there enforcer and future captin liverpool fell apart when we lost lucas to injury just some people underestimate how important defensive midfielders are -THE POPE

Lucus is above average at best good honest lad the way he plays but if you think he's good enough you need to get used to mid table finishes if we keep buying plays of his standard! Go buy m'vila Lucas as back up got to stop wasting so much money and start getting some better players in

WOW - Some ridiculous, uneducated, clueless comments on here! - Lucas is above average at best. Wow. Would be interesting to see how much you have seen of M'Villa (other than the fact he's been linked to the big clubs) to be able to compare him to Lucas. Joke.

So let me get this straight. Lucas if an average player who just happened to be captain of the younger Brazilian team, and now has 20 caps for the Brazilian national team.. one of the countries that produces the most footballers in the world, and a country that contains a well above average talent pool. Lucas is an average player who just happened to get injured around the same time the team's season took a turn for the worst. Lucas is an average player and is comparable to Spearing who is almost the same age as Lucas.

While Lucas was a poor player for quite some time he has now found his feet and is an important player for Liverpool. It is not a sign of our own decline, but a sign of his improvement as a player. Going back to the original statement. I am pretty sure Spearing won't be reaching the same levels as Lucas, he isn't even considered for the national squad. Spearing has heart but that's it.

Cheers,
TommyB

Lucas made more tackles and interceptions than anyone across Europe's biggest four leagues two seasons ago, was leading the BPL last season in tackles and interceptions when he got injured, punches well above his weight in pass completion stats, and may well captain Brazil on home soil during the next World Cup; there's nothing average about any of that.

-Red Socks

All those youth players you mentioned we purchased, they weren't brought up though the youth ranks proper. Raheem Sterling, we paid 5 million pound for, thats not youth development.

And Jay Spearing is NOT a Scouser

Spearing is not a Scouser. All those players mentioned that are supposed to convince us that our youth system is good, firstly, they haven't even done anything in the first team so therefore they aren't good. Secondly, we bought a lot of them which further suggests that our youth system is not good enough, if we have to buy kids from everywhere rather than bringing them up ourselves.

Hey eds do you think brendan rodgers will use his relationship with mourinho in getting us lassana diarra coz i belive we need another dm spearing is simply not good enough {Ed022's Note - Doubtful but not impossible.}

Would diarra want a return to the premiership though?

Nuri sahin will be better if he want to use his relationship with jose

Personally think spearing is a decent squad player.silly to get rid!jonny m

hi eds with liverpool obviously needing another striker just incase of injuries or suspensions who do you think liverpool will turn to if they fail to get de jong? {Ed022's Note - Soldado is an option.}

Seriously soldado is a real possibility? would love him to join us but thought he would opt for a team in CL {Ed016's Note - "he is an option" }

There aren't any chances that Soldado will join Liverpool instead of staying in Valencia and In CL.

Higuian is the man!think he may be leavin n mourinio factor may help.wud cost bt would be worth every penny.then again plenty of champions league clubs r gonna be after him,shud he become available.jonny m
