Eds is it still looking unlikely we will move either Balo or Borini on in January? Also you have told us of interest in a few keepers, which one if any do we have best chance in securing in Jan?

Believable8 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No one was interested in buying Balotelli at the asking price - only loans. I don't know where the club are with Borini. If a GK were to arrive in January then I would think Ochoa the most likely.}

Cheers mate for the reply

BBC website reporting City in advanced talks with Bony in a deal worth upto £30m.

A question for the Eds. Was there ever any interest in Bony from Liverpool in the summer, or was it all paper/ Message Board speculation?

If there was, was the whole transfer committee, including Rodgers, alligned on Bony, and if so, what were the stumbling blocks?

Without knowing the ins and outs of the transfer, I am still baffled why Bony at around the £15-£20m that was being reported in the summer wasn't snapped up in preference to Balotelli at £16m given the sorts of game/teams that they respectively thrive in. Bony's game, to me, seemed tailor made to our style of play.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - No approach was made in the summer by Liverpool. Swansea had no desire to sell Bony but have said that if they doubled what they had paid for him they would talk to any bidding club and the player - that puts it above £24M or so.

Liverpool cannot buy every player - just add him to the list of players Liverpool missed.}

Thanks for the reply Ed. Fair enough, completely accept we can't buy every player, just felt that Bony was an attainable and realistic target who would've improved the first team following Suarez's departure.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - It would likely have meant changing the style of play. No more "intensity" (running quickly at the opposition whilst screaming the Qagela Lapa war cry so popular with the Zululand warriors of times past.}

06 Jan 2015 19:45:43
Interesting. I would've thought that Bony's style of play would've been much more aligned to the (now always to be referred to) "Zululand High Press" than Balotelli's! However, I didn't watch that many of his Swansea games to be judged a 'Bony expert'!

I would stay clear of any Bony expert.

Hi eds, what's the situation with Martin Odegaard? Rumours are saying his club want a sale this month due to funds and it has been said that he's a massive Liverpool fan. Thanks Eds, keep up the good work!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - he has the choice of just about every top club in Europe and is picking where he wants to go. He is a Liverpool fan, but that doesn't mean he will choose us. It is a personal decision and no one can know what he will decide. All the stories in the papers are just speculation.}

Ed001; I'm norwegian, and follow Ødegaards situatuation quite close. His father has repeatedly statet that he will not move to a club to play reserve fotball. After what you have seen, do you think he is good enough noe to be linkluded in first team squad on regular basis in the very top clubs i europe? Or what do you think would be the right step for him?

Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - Odegaard will go to Real Madrid, in all likelihood via three years at Ajax.}

06 Jan 2015 20:10:16
Hope for his sake that he goes elsewhere as we have a very poor record regarding our young potential stars.

personally, I think its either Real Madrid or Ajax.

Ed002 mentioned that he will get to play in Real Madrid B team, which is by the way in the 2nd division of La Liga. so he gets first team action.

or maybe Ajax cause that's the only club that I believe can provide him first team action.

Update on Shaqiri:

The 23-year-old has been the Reds' most talked about potential signing of late, whether it be in the current transfer window or in the summer, and Blick, a Swiss publication, claim personal terms have been agreed between the player and Liverpool, but that he wouldn't be able to join this month. That is likely because of FFP rulings.

Sky sources, admittedly not always the most reliable, believe the Reds will sign Switzerland's talisman in the summer, and will allow him to join Inter on loan for the rest of this season.

{Ed002's Note - How nice, Liverpool allowing a Bayern Munich player to go on loan to Inter Milan.}

Hi eds, there was some rumoured interest from Leicester in Rickie Lambert and having watched him last night he just doesn't seem to have been able to step up to play for Liverpool. Do you know of any interest within him and whether the club would be willing to get rid

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest in Lambert - and given he has only been at the club for a few months it seems unlikely he will leave.}

06 Jan 2015 15:31:43
If any club had an interest in Rickie Lambert then I would imagine they would have scouted him recently, and if they've scouted him recently I would imagine that any interest would have ended suddenly!

I think that's a bit harsh! Other than not scoring goals, Rickie has been the model striker

Isn't that mannequin striker?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 21:19:59
Why say that about Rickie Lambert? He was never meant to be a first or even second choice striker. He doesn't exactly suit our style of play, if a team was built around him he would be a beast! He puts in a shift and loves the club, saying all this stuff about one of our players is so unnecessary

Hi Eds,

Heard anything on this one? Heard from a buddy of mine who is usually on the ball when it comes to Everton that Liverpool are in talks with Luke Garbutts agent about a summer switch. He's out of contract in summer but because of his age a fee would have to be set by tribunal.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - I haven't heard of that, we have tried to get him to join our academy in the past, when he was younger, on at least two ocassions, so it could be. I will ask if anyone knows anything on it.}

Would love this to be true,

I've heard this from a couple of Blues. Might be something to do with his retweeting antics. .

Hi Eds was listening to ( i know)last night and Tim Vickery was on from South America and he was saying that Liverpool are linked with the Argentine striker playing with Villareal. The scource was his club in Argentina who stand to make a few bob on the sale. Do you know anything about this please.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - Vietto? We were interested in him in the summer, no idea if that interest got shelved or not though sorry.}

Eds Has Suso signed a pre-contract with AC as Marca and Italian media are reporting?

Believable12 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He will - this should not be a shock.}

06 Jan 2015 02:56:19
No, I' think you've made it clear it probably end up in Italy.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2015 09:44:39
Stupid really, he is a very good player and we are letting him go. This will be another Paul Pogba situation where suso will be class for AC and Liverpool will want him back
