Hey Eds, Suarez was left behind for the wednesday friendly, the club claims he picked up an injury during injury which I find suspicious because the guy is never injured, is there a deal being completed and is Arsenal behind this deal? {Ed001's Note - no deal being completed yet, hence his current whines.}

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Ed001 -"Whines" is correct.

Suarez is now bleating about broken promises and breach of contract . if there is indeed a "breach" then surely his move would have virtually been completed by now.

Surely the clubs lawyers would have studied, reviewed and went over his contract with a fine tooth comb, and found it to be water-tight specific, hence they have stood their ground stating that the clause merely meant they had to notify Suarez of any bid over £40 Million.

If the clause is found not to be water-tight then I believe the club will look to have "egg" on their face, and could make us look a bit of a laughing stock.

As an aside, would Ian Ayre be involved in contract details, and further, if a "buy-out" clause is installed within a contract who decides/stipulates the fee? {Ed001's Note - both sides have already consulted legal experts, if there was a case to answer, he wouldn't be crying to the papers. Ayre is very involved in negotiating the contracts, yes, not sure how much into details he would go, that would be more the lawyers who do that. The clause in question was very much at the insistence of Suarez.}

Do you know if the new reports stating that Cissokho will be joining on loan are true eds?

I would think he's the most likely lb to sign given circumstances surrounding the others that we have been linked to {Ed001's Note - I only know we had talks, no idea what happened there, so I have to assume they are.}

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Cheers ed0001, personally think these signings, although not the big names that most fans are waiting for will improve us immensely.

Good cover when players get injured is what we have been missing. Just hope that we get in a top class attacker now with that classless so and so leaving at any time.

Rumours Skrtel to Zenit, not Napoli is completed on a permanent deal

Liverpool are in talks to Sign Diego Capel. I think we hope to finalize this deal before Mon the 12th.

Believable12 Unbelievable28

That would be a step back even when compared to Downing. I really hope this is more news garbage.

Agree2 Disagree2

Ya I'm with PowerLFC really hope this is a load of rubbish

Dont believe the rumour mill on lfctv

Hearing a few noises that Rodrigo Moreno of Benfica may make Liverpools list of potential signings if bids fail for other prospects.

Feel LFC have a important window and recent pursuits show interest in LFC is not what it used to be, personally feel were sitting on a fence and without wise investment in the correct players we will be chasing swansea and everton instead of spurs and gooners.

in regards to people moaning about wage bill being cut by sale / loan of players it makes sense for average players (Downings etc) to move on and players such as the sterlings to replace on half the wages.

with downing and assaidi likely to leave will we bringing in another wide forward option to replace them?

Believable20 Unbelievable12

We are looking to bring in Diego Costa and that is with no 1 leaving. He plays LWF.

So yeah I would say we will also be looking for a player to replace Downing at RW.

Wouldn't mind a player plus cash deal for Suarez. With the player being Angel di Maria that is.

--------------------Daniel Sturridge--------------------
Diego Costa------Philippe Coutinho-----Angel di Maria

What do you guys think. Good enough attacking threat?

Agree1 Disagree1

I would very seriously doubt if we got Costa it would be with no one leaving. I think (opinion, of course) it's rather dependent on Suarez leaving specifically.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd expect someone like Costa and Suarez to be sold and if Downing was sold that would still be it for attack. Assaidi was hardly never used so can't really talk about needing to replace him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Maria.?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sterling and Ibe will get more chances this year IF those two players leave.

Di Maria? This isn't FIFA and I don't think Costa would want to play in the left. I would swap Coutinho and Costa there.

Ally Cissoko loan deal completed according to LFC TV. £1m upfront and £3.5m to make the move permanent. Not a bad move IMO as it should keep Enrique on his toes. YNWA.

Believable34 Unbelievable24

Very good news. Don't think enrique will be at Liverpool this time next year unless he learns to control a ball and stop attacking like a headless chicken. imo

Ynwa

Agree3 Disagree2

No it hasn't been announced dude. Don't read nothing into the rumours page on the LFC TV site

Agree3 Disagree1

Can't find anything to confirm that!

Agree1 Disagree0

Where is this so called confirmation? The official LFC site doesn't mention this!?
Perhaps in the "rumour" section?

Agree1 Disagree0

Not saying anything on LFC tv about deal?

Agree1 Disagree0

That's a Daily Express rumour, still no official confirmation.

Drigan

Agree1 Disagree0

Ok just read a comment above claiming enrique runs up the pitch like a headless chicken. my two pennys worth here. enrique is a quality player. ok he isn't the best defensive player in the world but my god the lad can cross a ball he can shoot and his quick. I rate him. think he ozzes class. his first season was not great but he needed time to settle in. enrique is going no were.

Agree5 Disagree4

I hear that, there are worse players than Enrique, but competition is always good

is it true Alderweireld is heading for Everton as reported? {Ed002's Note - They have made an approach for him as we have previously discussed.}

Costa told that he is happy at Atletico, his club don't want to sell him also, is there any possibility we going to increase our bid. or we will go for other player? Rumour said liv have pay player transfr clause, but why still the club can prevent it?

Believable10 Unbelievable6

If a club meet a release clause the bid must be accepted however it is then down to the player if he would like to move. {Ed002's Note - It really not as simply as that.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed it may not be as simple as that but surely the core of the situation is this. Just because an offer equal to or in excess of the buy out clause is offered it doesn't mean the player MUST move. If his club wants him to remain and the player is happy there that is pretty much the end of the matter. A sale can't be forced by the biding club in those circumstances. {Ed002's Note - You talk of a "buy out" clause which is something entirely different again.}

Reports in Portugal suggest that Liverpool have been forced to abandon plans to sign Benfica left-back Lorenzo Melgarejo on loan after a work permit was not granted. The Paraguayan has failed to participate in the required number of international games.

Ed is they anyway around this? {Ed002's Note - Buy him and loan him out for a season or two. It was explained last week it would be difficult.}

Believable9 Unbelievable6

No way, it would be like Seb Leto all over again. {Ed002's Note - Right.}

Hello Eds amazing site for lfc supporters thanks for the job that you guys doing!
not the rumour but the question:
Is there any chance that lfc will try to sign Hulk if we sell Suarez?(rumours that Hulk is not happy in Russia, also got 6 match ban) {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not shown any interest in Hulk so I would say not.}

Believable11 Unbelievable32

He would be expensive (also in wages) and is he really that good? I watched him in the confederations cup and I think he looked a bit clumsy.

Agree2 Disagree1

He is not that good and is a bit of a showboat

Hey edds if and when Real come in for a bid for Suarez do u see us trying to get Coentrao as part of the deal, u said before they are looking to ship him out and I remember before we bought Enrique we were linked with him for a left back could he be coming red side as competition for Enrique in that position? {Ed002's Note - If he is available, then perhaps. He may well be gone by then.}

Believable3 Unbelievable12

Would prefer Di Maria than Coentrao as a part of the deal, heard he is available {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt he is an option.}

Agree2 Disagree1

I would sell Suarez to Real Madrid for 39.99 Million than to cheap Arsenal. If only they were interested after spending so much on Bale.

Hey Eds,

Just wondering with all the news on the CB front, did we or anyone else have an interest in Umtiti? Can cover LB as well or is he happy in France? {Ed002's Note - Lyon's Samuel Umtiti has attracted the attention of both Milan clubs, Genoa, Juventus, Atalanta, Newcastle, Barcelona and Fulham with his performances this season.}

Believable4 Unbelievable12

I'd love to see him in the same side as Zouma. That would be some partnership for years to come.

First of all massive thanks to the Eds for their wonderful work on this site. i'm a first time poster under this new registered username. Eds, do you think downing's time at Liverpool is over? And does this bring the diego costa deal closer to completion (I know they are not entirely the same position but still attacking options for BR). Thanks Eds appreciate your work. {Ed002's Note - I don't know what the plan is with Downing but it will be unrelated to Costa.}

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Seems all of the high earners are being forced out of the club. Carragher, Carroll, Skrtel, Downing, Reina, Suarez etc. Enrique will be next. The club's given Gerrard a fat pay rise to keep him quiet/happy.

Agree0 Disagree6

06 Aug 2013 11:34:01
Suarez wants to leave. Carragher chose to retire. If the others are being forced out (as you claim), it's not just because they are big earners - but maybe they are big earners who haven't provided enough value in recent seasons.

Agree5 Disagree0

You actually believe Jamie Carragher was forced out of the club because of his wages? Well that's either paranoia or conspiracy theory. As for Carroll I've always been given to understand that his wages, in comparison to other big signings, was medium level only but his departure was surely down to BR nor rating him and not wanting to play with a big target man.

Agree3 Disagree0

Jeaz Chicken Little are you serious? Carragher retired and was asked to play on if he wanted to he could have. Carroll was never going to get a chance as it's a completely different style to Rodgers. Suarez is begging to go himself. Skrtel fell apart last season he was very poor and the manager does seem to want rid of him - footballing decision, imo. Reina warned the club he may leave and we replaced him, his offer didn't come so £110k on the bench for GK was seen as too much so that was a financial decision. Downing hasn't produced anywhere near his Villa form and only started playing half ok the second half of last season - we now have Sterling and Ibe who can easily take his place ability wise so why would you want to keep the older player on more wages than the 2 lads put together?

Agree2 Disagree0

Sean, Downing was one of our top players in the latter half of the season ''half ok''? To say we have Ibe and Sterling as cover is ludicrous, Sterling was good for a youngster but Downing much more accomplished in the role. Ibe has played 1 senior league game!

Agree2 Disagree1

Sidney loves to get every1 wound up doesn't he haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Bob, Downing wasn't one of our top players. He made a huge improvement on being absolutely useless so, imo, a lot of people have overrated his 2nd half of last season seeing as he had been so bad up until then. He still wasn't much of a threat going forward.

And I do fully believe Ibe & Sterling to be good cover. I like the idea of using the academy and giving good young players a chance. We're expecting to sign a starting attacker (someone like Costa as an example). We have Coutinho to play either CAM or LW. Aspas RW. This new signing would be the other "first 11" attacker behind Sturridge. Then I am happy with Sterling and Ibe being backup for the wings instead of Downing and we also have Luis Alberto and even Henderson if we're stuck for the wings.

Hi Eds,

I was just wondering if we had shown any interest in Ander Herrera of Bilbao or indeed any of their players?

Also, is it true that Bilbao can only sign/recruit players from the Basque region of Spain?

Cheers! {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. And with few exceptions they sign only Basque players.}
