So Macca says 2 from La Liga? I reckon it's nailed-on Messi and Llorente.

Havent we already had this joke?

You so funny.

Don't believe a word Macca says - he is so full of wind! What happened to the striker from Inter that he promised would sign in January? Still in Milan by the looks of it.

06 Apr 2012 23:30:54
Macca......So given you know of 5 potential signings, 2 of which will make a difference from La liga. How confident are you of us being a lot more competitive next season?

and do we look like a team that will compete for the title should all these signings come off?

oh and how many players do you see leaving, from the first team squad?

Ozred

06 Apr 2012 23:09:27
eds

from what you and macca have said i think 5 possible players that might come in are

1)ramirez
2)soldado
3)tello
4)philips although i would rather play sterling instead
5)sissoko

,thanks

Not a bad guess, with regards to Phillips though. Sterling seems to play more on the left for the reserves and Phillips more on the right from what i've seen. I think Sterling will start getting more games next season but he is only 17 and Kenny will not rush him, stunning player though, i've high hopes for him.

06 Apr 2012 22:41:35
These are the 5 players I would like to see next season, at LFC.

Soldado
Ramirez
Ozil/Marin
Tello
Isla

All unlikely but not impossible.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

All of them, but kagawa instead of ozil/marin

I wouldn't say any of those are too unlikely (maybe with the exception of Ozil, but there's a chance of him too). If that did happen it would certainly propel us into the top 4.

MansfieldRED

Luuk de jong could be a possibility

06 Apr 2012 22:36:55
Hello Macca
The rumor of Gaston Ramirez how credible do you think it is

He won't answer because he doesn't have a scooby doo! Watching all yous sad people slavering over Mascca like he's the Messiah is embarassing - get a grip; the guy knows sfa about what happens at Liverpool. Where's this striker from Inter that he guaranteed would sign in January?....still in Milan I imagine.

06 Apr 2012 21:33:10
ed, do you have any proof to back up that suarez will leave in the summer. hes said he wants to stay. are you just listening to lazy bulls*** journalism {Ed002's Note - Try not to be a cretin. Try and read what I said again.}

Ed new word for you in gaelic amadan means idiot

Ah jez for sure, we defo need to spread a bit o' culture but still think u can't go wrong with 'eejit' or 'gobshi*e' being used in the English vernacular instead... still, amadan has a nice ring to it :-)

ED, try not to be a cretin and pls stop saying Suarez will leave when you know that he himself has said he wont leave. I think there is more chance of this site being closed than Suarez leaving...

Thank You and have a nice day and please rejuvenate your dead brain cells by eating some cereal meals!!..

{Ed002's Note - Another embarrassing glifnard we don't need to deal with anymore.}

06 Apr 2012 21:14:05
Ed i would just like to know why we are in discussions with suarez about a new deal if we actually want to sell him? {Ed002's Note - What discussions are these? I think you are making these up.}

Ed002 It was in the Echo that Luis is very happy here and he's going to discuss a new contract in the summer! the headline was I WANT TO STAY A RED! that was in the Echo about a fortnight ago! {Ed002's Note - Got to be true then. Do you believe everything you read in the papers?}

Ed001 said we'd opened up contract negotations and then so did the Echo. Hardly made up

Martin {Ed001's Note - preliminary negotiations is all mate, they can be anything, even just setting a sale price in the event of a bid coming in.}

07 Apr 2012 09:34:55
I don't believe the papers, but I do believe King Kenny. Copy and paste this link from the day after Suarez said he hoped he would be signing a new contract soon

www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/kd-luis-happiness-great-for-lfc

{Ed002's Note - As you say, "hoped". As I have said, I expect he will leave and since then there has been interest from four clubs - with at least one having spoken to Liverpool.}

06 Apr 2012 20:41:22
Carroll nailed on to return to Newcastle...we want 15mil they only willing to offer 7mill so he will go for around 10mill after talks.....Ba and Cisse offers have been turned down by Newcastle also in relation to this....

Iker Muniain, Javi Martinez and Fernando Llorente Comoli has been watching these guys all season and finally he and Kenny have made their decision 2 out of the 3 will be purchased but on Carrolls form maybe 3 of them also spells trouble for Adam who will deffo lose his place when Lucas returns...
Still no wingers lined up as Kenny only plays one per match Raheem sterling is breaking in the rest of the season for next year and Bellers and Downing staying...
Maxi and Kuyt are leaving over game time so Toni Silva could be promoted along with Sosa from The Rezzies....
YNWA

So let me get this right....

Llorente, Martinez and Muniain are joining Liverpool....

I've heard everything now!

Why all the disagree's? seem's very plausible!

I think Soldado & Pedro are more likely.

Load of b****cks these guys want to play in the champs league

06 Apr 2012 20:07:47
Is there any interest from Liverpool in Pablo Hernandez from Valencia?

If we are looking at Soldado might it be worth having a punt on his team mate.

Also if Tello is high on our list of wanted players, what will happen to the likes of Downing with Tello seeming to favour the left flank, Will Downing e moved to the right, as he is less effective on the right than the left.

Cheers

These players are quality. They will not join Liverpool

Downing played on the right for villa with young on the left. he played the form of his career on the right. he needs someone putting in crosses from the opposite wing though, thats why he scored for villa.

Downing plays better on the right meaning the end for carroll

Downing plays s***e on both wings, equally. When will you mugs realise that he is not a winger. He can't beat anybody for pace (even Tony Hibbert) and can't cross a ball so if he is, indeed, a winger then he's clearly not very good at it.

06 Apr 2012 19:48:02
Hey again Ed's, hope you're all well. With the news from Macca about 2 La Liga players, do you know anyone who it could be or any players you think could be interested in joining LFC? Is there anyone (realistically) that you'd LIKE them to be?

Great news though. Good to hear we're looking for good quality players, that hopefully we'll sign. Come on red men!

Thanks in advance for any replies, and sorry for inconvenience if this has been answered/raised already.

Ell. {Ed002's Note - Please see earlier answers.}

Evening Eds and all,

I really think Dyer of Swansea looks a good option for right wing, I have no idea of cost - but he is young and plays attractive football. He causes no end of problems to defence. What does anyone else think? Could we get him and do you think he is good enough for Liverpool?

Thanks for the site.

Bazzaa

He is essentially Sterling with a creepy stubble

Martin

Swansea are almost above us in the league so of course he is good enough for us!

He is good enough and hes english, hes also got the speed ans the skill

06 Apr 2012 18:51:22
hey eds

ive noticed suso and pacheco are really close, are they related in any way or just good friends?

also do you think pacheco will come back? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea about how close friends they are. I don't expect Pacheco will return to Liverpool to play - perhaps to empty his locker.}

06 Apr 2012 18:43:22
The 2 la liga players:

Soldado (25m)

Tello (10m)

Also we are looking to sign Yann M'Villa {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over M'Vila.}

Or tello or soldado

Tello is out of contract at the end of the season {Ed002's Note - I know that Balague has said that Tello's contract is up this year but that is not my understanding and I very much expect that Barcelona will offer him a new deal. As for interest from Liverpool I don't know how serious it is but I understand the player has been watched. There is also some interest from Valencia and from Porto.}

06 Apr 2012 17:58:35
Hey ed, r we interested in llorente n borja valero? I have a feeling it will be atleast one of these two that macca mentioned.
Indian Buzzer {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Spurs, PSG and Manchester City. Barcelona are considering their future options which may involve a move for the player. Borja Valero came close to signing for Chelsea last summer, but in the end Chelsea decided against it. This year the interest is coming from Malaga.}

06 Apr 2012 17:37:00
eds what players do you personly think macca what talking about from la liga?

thanks and keep up the brilliant work {Ed002's Note - I am not going to speculate as it'll only end up with grief.}

06 Apr 2012 17:54:53
With the Ed's consensus being that Suarez will be off in the Summer.

I was wondering how much weight the reports saying that Juventus are very interested in Suarez with Krasic and some money going the other way?

Krasic's has had a difficult season so i'm not sure if he'd be any good. Tottenham wanted him but he turned them down and only admits that he regrets that decision.

Thanks

I think Krasic would be a good acquisition. I know people wont agree with me but he is a real winger, the type to get to the line and cross, he is quick and has good delivery.

He has had very little game time this year, not because of his performances but because Conte changed the formation to a much more narrow one which did not require wingers. It's true he has not been happy sitting on the bench but what professional would be...besides michael owen.

Nevada

Not sure about Krasic being involved but definitely heard that Juventus are very keen on Suarez and given there form (2nd in Serie A I believe) as well as playing good footballl and being highly ambitious i'd say they might be favourites. They also have the money to buy Suarez which obviously helps...

Good Afternoon Eds

I was reading what Macca said about Kenny stepping aside as he feels the job is to big for him,Macca also said we have targets in La Liga. Now i was wondering if we have set targets , and yes i know Kenny is still our manager would it not be better to wait untill we get a new manager in and see what type of player he would want or could it be possible that we have a manager lined up allready?

Thanks

Thatracoonstolemybacon {Ed002's Note - There will not be anyone lined up as manager just yet.}

You clearly can't read. Its If not IS. IF he thinks the job is too big not that he already does. You clearly just want kenny out

There is a general consensus that Kenny will not be mangager next season but no one in charge has told him he wont. So as manager he still has to carry on his work with the team even if its related to transfers rather than wonder if he will be. Besides a part of scouting is about gathering intel on players to be assessed by the manager and even if there is a new manager it is not always easy to bring in your own scouts as soon as you join a new club and will sometimes have to rely on what the current scouts have gathered.

06 Apr 2012 17:17:05
Hey Eds

Forget My ..

Thatracoonstolemybacon {Ed003's Note - okey dokey }

Find it extraordinary that people aren't willing to give kk a chance. I say again it's been a very unlucky season for us, give him a chance we are Liverpool, not some tin pot club that changes their manager everytime the team is on a bad run.

I find it incredible that every time we have a rough patch the fare weather supporters start ranting about a new manager, the end of the season is the time for looking at what is best for the club and like Macca says if Kenny thought someone else could do a better job he would step aside, in the meantime let's just get behind him and the team.

06 Apr 2012 17:05:01
Hi eds and reds,
Have we ever shown intrest in this dyer?
Do you lot rate him?
Cheers
Gaz b {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool right now.}

06 Apr 2012 16:55:41
Hearing Pedro has itchy feet in Spain and might look to come to England for a year or two.

Any news or thoughts?

Some good foot powder maybe?

06 Apr 2012 16:26:58
{Ed022's note - brand new player profile on Pablo Armero of Udinese (left back) linked with Liverpool in recent times. The deal could be possible due to the Jack Robinson situation and would be brought in as cover, but there is uncertainty on the level of interest Liverpool currently hold in him. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all!}

What jack Robinson situation??

Aston Villa apparently want him on loan. Would be a good move for him.

06 Apr 2012 16:23:36
I believe that the two main targets from La Liga that Macca is referring to are Javi Martinez and Pedro Rodriguez. This is from doing a little bit of searching on this website from what Macca has stated and the realization that we most likely will not be attracting many big stars over the summer. This has to do with club finances on our side and the lack of CL next season. The lack of CL impacts both us, financial, and potential targets, want to play at the highest level. Both of these players seem resonable targets to me.

Javi Martinez will have his pick of clubs why would he go to Liverpool ?

Financially? 30 million a year for our new kit deal, you get 28 for the champions league. We are 2 million better off {Ed002's Note - It is £25M and you then need to deduct the £12.5M that is already being paid.}

Eds,what is be the chance for us to sign Barça duo;
Cristian Tello and Ibrahim Afellay?
THANKS
I APPRECIATE YOUR WORK,
Y.N.WA. {Ed002's Note - I suspect that with Affelay out injured pretty much all of this season it is unlikely that Liverpool would take a chance on him before he could prove his fitness. However, he will likely be available in the summer. I know that Balague has said that Tello's contract is up this year but that is not my understanding and I very much expect that Barcelona will offer him a new deal. As for interest from Liverpool I don't know how serious it is but I understand the player has been watched. There is also some interest from Valencia and from Porto..}

This is the post Macca was on about

When Macca was talking about someone hitting the nail on the head he was referring to those who had initially replied to his previous post. These posters mentioned Soldado, Higuain, Muniain, etc.

Hi Ed's I was wondering if you could please answer this for me, has Liverpool signed a young Macedonian player named Daniel Avramovski? If not, could you tell me if they were interested at least? Thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't know the answer - sorry. What little I know of him is his age and he would not be allowed to actually make the move for another year. Perhaps someone else has some details.}

06 Apr 2012 15:48:17
hey eds

are we intrested in ozil and do you think we could get him?

correct me if im wrong but i also belive he said champions league isnt a must be, and he also like liverpool alot and always supports liverpool when there playing and says things like hala lfc which i think is jewish?

thanks eds please answer {Ed002's Note - I don't see Oezil necessarily being available in the summer but Liverpool and Manchester United may well be interested if he is - but Champions League qualification being achieved may be a pre-requisite for any move he makes. I am sure that there would be plenty of interest from elsewhere, not least Inter Milan who bid against Madrid to buy him originally, and Juventus. Whilst he had what was seen as a very good season last year, this season has been patchy at best with a lot of time on the bench. Real Madrid may listen to offers in the region of 25M euros or so. Additionally Oezil is Muslim and typically Yiddish and Hebrew is something that would not be in his everyday language. I have no idea who he supports as a club but Schalke would be a far more likely answer than Liverpool.}

Hala means forward. Real madrid fans chant it a lot.... Plus jewish isn't a language

You probably saw that on a twitter account with his name, but that is not his account as no other Madrid player's official account follows that account, where all the Madrid player's usually follow each others accounts. The hala LFC thing is probably just adopted from hala Madrid, which is common amongst Madrid fans like YNWA with LFC

That's not his twitter account....

06 Apr 2012 15:35:48
I actually think Suarez is overrated and not a LFC player. He will always be a cheat, selfish, a hot-head and even if he does improve his finishing, he will move to Spain or Italy eventually. I really dont enjoy watching him play for us with all his antics.

Again, just my opinion.

Chuck Norris

So you like Glenn Johnson but dont like Suarez? You have some unique tastes Chuck. By the way is it true that when exercising you dont push up you push the world down?

Nevada

Hes not getting the help of other players round him as he is on a totally diferent level

I agree with the cheating thing - diving, handballs, whinging. It is very off putting to watch and gives other teams a new stick to beat us with. However he is a class act and I would bet he will be among the top scorers in the league next year. I say keep him and hopefully Kenny will tell him to cut out all the bull.

Hugh Pugh.

Clearly not a Liverpool fan

What a moranic comment. He along with Gerrard is clearly our best player.

I smell Toffee

Mancs and toffees even wont be so critical, like some so called lfc fans have been in this site toward JC, SG and LS!

Im a Liverpool season ticket holder and i have to say i look forward to suarez being sold. Over rated, if we put our arm around Carroll as much as suarez we would get the best out him.

You are havin a laugh mate carroll couldnt finish his dinner

Y if someone has an opinoin must he be a toffee or a manc??..i think suarez is a good player.but he is very selfish and from what i have seen this season does not appear to be a team player..that is my view.does that make me a manc or a toffee ....no.......LFC YNWA

You clearly havent seen alot this season then.

06 Apr 2012 15:32:34
Hi eds, i was wondering if you could help me out. Burak Yilmaz is the name. He plays in Turkey and has been on fire this season with something like 32 goals. What teams have looked at him? I've never seen him play, but he boasts a tidy goalscoring record. {Ed002's Note - Burak Yilmaz has attracted interest from Sevilla, Beyer Leverkusen and Newcastle.}

Cheers

06 Apr 2012 15:20:50
how old is fred? and is there any interest in him? {Ed002's Note - Fred will be 27 or 28 now but there will be no interest from Liverpool in the player. I think his time in Europe is done although there was some talk of a move to Japan a while back.}

FIFA FEVER aint it ? Clarkchenko7

I asked this dont acully rate him on fifa tobehonest just watch him a few times an think hes a good foward as cover for suarez or carroll

06 Apr 2012 15:17:09
Is one of the players Iker Muiniain? have heard a few mentions of him. He is absolute quality but with his performances against United and Bilbao doing well, combined with him defo going to the Euro's with Spain, I cant see it happening sadly. His value has gone up by £20m.

Buy out clause of 25m euros, and he wasn't valued at 5m euros before {Ed002's Note - There is no buy out clause relevant to English clubs. The price that was asked of Manchester United and Chelsea when he was recently offered to them was 40M euros.}

06 Apr 2012 15:08:29
Hi Eds. Not so much of a rumour but more of a question - is Danny Murphy's contract up in the summer? With Adam being below par and still having a re-sale value, I think he could provide a bit of quality in the centre of the park that we have been missing. I know he is 35 but I was thinking of the impact Gary McAllistar had when he joined us and for a free transfer I reckon he could be a good investment a couple of years. Any thoughts? {Ed002's Note - It is but I would not hold my breath.}

Oh please! lets hope whoever the manager is has a more ambitious approach to the signing of players and the future of the club, I can't really believe you hold your hopes to Danny Murphy turning us into world beaters.... we will win the league with him in the team won't we?? Dan, Dan super Dan! Is that how bad its got?

If you are going to take a midfielder from Fulham Dempsey is your man he's 29 and will be for sale for around 10 mil.

06 Apr 2012 14:42:52
any truth that chelsea trying to sell torres back to us? {Ed002's Note - No but I guess it could be arranged. Andy Carroll and £15M is the going rate.}

Andy Carroll and 5m ED? {Ed002's Note - No, I must get £15M.}

U mean torres + 15mil for carroll?

I'd do it in a heart beat

It would be good if true , because at least torres is better than carroll

I know you aren't serious (or I took it that way) but is there any any chance Chelsea being interested in Carroll he is English home grown too just 23 come on ED002 tell your mate at Chelsea to buy him

Ya Ed002 pass on were willing to talk,Andys like a woman in a fur coat with no umbrella (Ready To Go) :)
Eam {Ed002's Note - I'll mention it.}

06 Apr 2012 14:36:06
Surely 1 of the supposed 2 La Liga players would come from the financially dire Villareal

Rossi (but he has a clause like 30m don't he?)
Nilmar (he wants to go home though doesn't he?)
Perez (I would love this guy as a RM)
Zapata

Eds? {Ed002's Note - Giuseppe Rossi will leave Villareal in the summer and a move to Italy is most likely if he leaves Spain - with Napoli a very strong contender. Barcelona may be interested. Nilmar is likely to move to Roma, Galatasary, Fiorentina or Sao Paulo. As it stands right now a move for Perez or Zapata this summer is less than likely.}

With nilmar he'd have lucas with him and the spanish and south americans

so Lucas can speak like 4 languages
Portuguese
Spanish
English
Italian
for that alone he should be captain

Rossi is a hate figure in italy so i cant see him being home sick to be honest so there is always a chance adam lfc

Transfer Revelations...

I was going to write a post today about Jamie Carragher, but after Maccas information I thought maybe a post speculating who he might be referring to would be more upbeat.

Roberto Soldado - I think there is a good chance this could be one of the players. He is the type of player we are looking for and need. Roberto is viewed within Mestalla as quite a down to earth guy and I dont think that lack of Champs League would put him off. however Valencia are not as desperate to sell as they once were so will hold out for their 25m evaluation, which I think may be a bit too rich for us this summer. I cant see us spending more than that all summer.

Cristian Tello - I have never seen him play in all honesty so I dont know if he is what we are looking for, the only thing I can say is that Barca dont normally let players go who they think have a future. Bojan has not exactly set Roma on fire.

Gonzalo Higuain - I would love one of the players to be Higuain as I think he is among the finest strikers currently playing football and his record at both club and national level reflect this. Sadly, he has little interest in moving to EPL and only recently said he would possibly consider chelsea.

Mesut Oezil - Again he would be a fine addition to our squad and has the guile and creativity that we have lacked this year. He has also said in the past that lack of Champs League is not a deal breaker. The fee again would be a stumbling block, if Madrid let him go (which I dont think they will) they are likely to ask for 25million. Which my be a little out o b

Iker Muniain - At first I dismissed him...then I thought about it a little. He is very similar to another young player we were interested in...Connor Wickham. He plays in a position which we need and he is young with time to adapt. They might be asking 40m for him but both they and everyone else know that for a player with discpline issues and only an average scoring record 20m is much more likely.

Guiseppe Rossi - Talented player but he has made everybody fully aware of how much he disliked his first stint in the premiership. In addition to this, there are a couple of italian clubs interested and he has said he would like to go back. Of all the players I've listed he represents the best overall deal. His wages are in line with our wage structure, he is goal scoring forward who is able to create, he has clever movement. His transfer fee is likely to be around 18m also due to Villareal situation and his recent injury. However Italy is more likely his destination.

Javi Martinez - 40m. and they are likely to get that figure with City being interested. For that reason I think he is very unlikely to be a Liverpool player.

Pedro Leon - Offers were fielded from a couple of english clubs when he left Madrid and though I could never confirm it I suspected one of those was from Liverpool. He is a good pacey RW with good delivery. Attitude issues at times but they have only happened under Jose at Madrid. Would likely be available for around 12-15m and his wages are sustainable. He is also young-ish.

Raul Albiol - He's a decent player but just on the basis that I dont think we will be looking for a defender I'm ruling him out.

Sergio Asenjo - A shot out of the dark here, we need a back up keeper who is young enough to not mind warming the bench for a while but who is good enough to pressure Pepe. Asenjo perfectly fits that bill and up until De Gea usurped him was probably the best young keeper in spain, he has faultered since but a change of scenery may rejuvenate him.

Thats my picks from spain and my views. Any comments are always welcome and appreciated.

Thanks for reading

Nevada

You need to get out more mate

Muniain very similar to Wickham? Rotflmao!!

I didnt mean that Muniain and Wickham were similar in quality, just in playing style. I think Muniain is a little over rated myself. Seen him a few times and he has never been that impressive.

Nevada

Wickham and muniain similar? Lay off the whitney houston chief

Why would these players leave the clubs they are at for a team halfway down the league , if we were in the champions league then maybe but come the end of the season and that will show were are team is at

Well if you read the post, I state that most of them wont leave their clubs. The only two which I thought may are Soldado, which is based on information I received about Unai Emery. As for Muniain his team are doing just a bad as ours in La Liga except they did not just win a trophy.

Nevada

So we hove no chance in most of the players, expect for Higuain, Ozil & possibly Martinez everyone is viable, I would question FSG's position if they can't get any of the rest of players...

I think you have to be little bit positive in getting players & attracting them though have to admit if we finish 7th & not win FA cup we would find pretty hard to attract quality players.. unless FSG splash the Cash.

Bosco

Get muniain he is going to be one hell of a player, would fit into the epl no problem,hopefully in a liverpool shirt,this boy can unlock tight defences just what we need esp at anfield ynwa

Muniain and Rossi seem the most likely given the options presented, the potential transfer fee's, the clubs both players currently reside at and there positions.

SMc

Good post nevada...i just get a bit pissed of with this site at times when someone takes the time to post something they get knobheads who leave s**tty remarks.. the your views mate.lfc ynwa

Nice post. Wickham and Muniain similar in playing style? I don't think they could be any more the opposite mate!
The Gooch

06 Apr 2012 14:18:58
Guiseppe Rossi £13Million
Ibrahim Affelay £6Million

Rossi would cost far more than 13 million

06 Apr 2012 13:50:01
Great job eds !!
If macca says 2 from la liga , would by any chance of a Spanish manager ?

If Kenny steps down, I think there is a very good chance our next manager would be from Spain.

Nevada

06 Apr 2012 13:49:20
macca lol......give us the first letter of their names as an easter present :P

06 Apr 2012 13:31:14
Ed, is Bellamy's contract up this summer? Will he be here next season do you think?

YNWA {Ed002's Note - No and yes.}

06 Apr 2012 13:28:45
Why are you lot sweating off Maccas post? Pretty sad really lads, you won't be signing any top talent, or any talent whatsoever for that matter.

Macca is a well respected poster on this forum, and has been proved right many time in the past. The question is, why are you posting here when you clearly aren't a Liverpool fan?

Oh dear someone does'nt have a clue

Nothing of interest happening on the Bitters page then I take it?

See you saturday week.

I think it is pretty sad that someone is taking time to read another club's page.
the wise one

From maccas last post you can tell its either

higuain martinez
soldado tello
soldado muniain
soldado ozil

or

ronaldo and messi

With 1,2 and 5 not going to happen

its either soldado and munian

or soldado and ozil

It could easily be Afellay and Keita. But you never know, why you're so sure about Soldado?

How about pedro rodriguez ?

collins

Because those were the names mentioned before Macca said someone hit the nail on the had

There was also one that said tello, rossi, oezil, soldado, navas

Exactly and he said someone hit it on the head so whoever said tello, rossi, oezil, soldado, navas is clearly not right...more than 2 names

If 1,2 and 5 are not going to happen then why did you put it down?

and i seriously doubt that keita is the way forward or will improve our squad at all.

personal opinion, i know a lot of you will disagree with me, but i think the project the club is carrying out is pretty attractive. no reason why we cant attract the likes of ronaldo and messi.

keep the faith

thanks

Lads why do u think macca didnt tell us the names? Because theres no guarantee they will sign and all you lot will be looking to put his head on a stick

eds, what are the clubs views on agger? i mean he's good but with him being a slow healer and i guess abit injury prone, how does the club view his future in lfc? but personally i think he's better than before, the cracked rib we cant avoid, but atleast hes not getting calcifications or muscle injuries.

Kaizer {Ed002's Note - I don't see Agger as likely to depart this summer. I don't know if Dalglish feels differently.}

Hes our best defender, look at him when he's out the side. Why would we sell? We need to get rid of Carragher first

Agger is world class cant get rid of him in my opinion

Valley Red

Either Agger or skrtel should be on pitch captain when SG is out - the way Martyn directs corners, or how Danny moves forward to start attacking players off with his passing and direction. both have real leadership quality to them and at times look the most determined players on the pitch.

KD said not too long ago that he rates him as one of the best defenders in the EPL.

heard this on talksport any truth? cheers

The 31-year-old, who has one year left on his existing deal at Liverpool, is set for the exit as manager Kenny Dalglish looks to lower the average age of his squad.

And Rob Jansen, Kuyt's agent, says the Dutch international would welcome a move to the Italian capital.

Speaking to Pagine Romaniste, Jansen said: "Kuyt is considering his future. He still has a contract with Liverpool, expires in 2014. Roma could be an option for Dirk. It's a prestigious club that is fighting for important objectives. For now I can say that Roma is part of the list of clubs that Kuyt would take seriously."

Kuyt, a virtual ever-present since signing from Feyenoord in 2006, has seen his first-team opportunities reduced this season - he has made just 19 Premier League starts - and last month hinted that he would consider his future after being left out of the starting line-up for February's Carling Cup final.

European giants Galatasaray and Fiorentina have also indicated their interest in signing the Dutch international, as have former club Feyenoord.

However, Jansen does not feel Kuyt is looking for a move back to his homeland at this stage in his career.

"Feyenoord know that Dirk will join them once he returns to Netherlands," he added. "But when? It's impossible to answer that question."
{Ed002's Note - Sure, he is expected to leave in the summer.}

eds do we have any intrest in falcao and how much do you think he would cost? {Ed002's Note - No.}

06 Apr 2012 12:22:07
ed gazetta delo sport are reporting that we are willing to enter into negotiatios with juve for a fee of 30 million euros,do you know if this is true?. It would be terrible buisness on our part as thats barely more than we bought him for! CHEERS ED

You can safely disregard this rumour.

06 Apr 2012 12:19:14
i think we all no 1 of the players that macca is on about...keyta...it's not really old news is it..as we have bin linked with him all season...in macca we trust..yeah right

Big sigh!

Someone had three shreaded wheat in their bowl today. XD

You are a special kind of a fool....

We have been linked with Keita all season and you still can't spell his name correctly? Says it all really. Better to leave the rumours and opinions to the adults in future!

06 Apr 2012 12:14:06
We are close to signing 16 year old Dan smith of Crewe for £400,000.
Anyone seen him play?

Springer

Well heard alot about him. Hope, we'd be bringing Nick Powell out of Crewe, too. he seems to be a very good talent. YNWA

Yea we could get him for a reserve but we need big signings from big clubs

06 Apr 2012 12:05:42
I'd just like to thank Macca for the first bit of refreshing news in quite a while as a LFC fan!

lets just hope we can get the players you're talking about in!

if we don't then i wont give you any stick,and would encourage others to refrain from doing so as you're simply passing on the info you are given. not trying to mislead us.

hopefully we can sign some quality,get rid of some deadwood and push on for a CL Place next season, regardless of who are manager is.

not trying to put any pressure on you,but do you know anything about who may be shipped out,or how many? no need to name names!

cheers,and thanks again!

I would agree about the whole ''being civil'' thing, but people will get angry, anxious, frustrated and tired especially with such a condensed period of time with such a frenetic pace of modern media.

That's just what happens with passionate fans (fanatics) which is irrational in and of itself, so to ask irrational people to be rational is a little irrational.

The site would be one step ahead if they added a ''cool off/let it out/vent ya'self room'' for those, like i previously have been guilty of letting the aggression and frustration out, which i was banned for a period of fourth months for.

That doesn't mean anything goes, but at times of frustration there would be a condensed place of misery. Like Samaritans for LFC fans :). Could have done with that room the last few seasons.

Well we could always let the idiots run riot and run the risk of losing any sort of information from Macca at all....

You realize we got ride of all our deadwood just players that will be either out of contract(aurelio); given the green light to go on free if they so wish(maxi, jones, doni); sold(kuyt, aquilani, cole, pacheco);released(poulsen and maybe some reserves; darby, amoo) {Ed002's Note - I find it astonishing that some people have so little respect for Liverpool players and insist on calling them "deadwood". How would you feel if the players referred to you as a fan as a brain dead rodent?}

With all due respect Ed002, if those same 'deadwood' players showed as much passion & pride (to play) for the club as the 'brain dead' rat(s) then maybe fans wouldnt get to that point where they feel a tad p'eed off with some 'players' esp given the money they're on... not that THAT should have ANY relevance to their performance, should it?! As was mentioned B4, imagine if wages WERE performance related, would be see ANY difference in commitment, pride and passion i wonder? 1 can but dream......

A brain dead rodent-Overvauled.

06 Apr 2012 12:00:04
hey eds

going on what macca sed to you exspect the 2 la liga players to be attacking players because la liga has better attacking players than defending players?

also who are we heavily linked with in la liga and the 2 players could be?

thanks {Ed002's Note - We have no interest in getting dragged in to such speculation. There is pleanty of information if you sift through the other posts and I have already answered questions on some of these players.}

06 Apr 2012 11:51:03
Any new news on Juan Manuel Vargas (Fiorentina)? Battling with Bayern for him? {Ed002's Note - Juan Manuel Vargas is different from the traditional left sided players being as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. Fiorentina accept he will leave. Liverpool, Inter Milan, Napoli, Roma, Arsenal, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have shown an interest in the past but at 28 and with a now well documented weight issue, he may not be the easiest to sell. Bayern Munich maintain an interest and I would not be surprised if there is interest from Turkey and Russia. I would be surprised if he were still of interest to Liverpool after Enrique was bought last summer.}

06 Apr 2012 11:32:21
Have we looked at Soldado? {Ed002's Note - Certainly Liverpool have shown some interest in Soldado as have Milan and PSG. At about 25M euro or more Soldado would not be cheap but I think he would be a great option if he could be lured to Anfield.}

More like Danny Graham

No chance of Soldado, he is going to play a big part in the Euros and his price will rocket as a result. I doubt very much he would want to play europa league football next season as well.

I hate having to write this. I hope we unearth some gems using clever scouting like Newcastle have done and Arsenal continue to do (some exceptions).

At this moment I don't think we can attract any star players to Liverpool.kenny is so obsessed in recruiting British players like he did 20 years ago when he was successful then. Players like McMahon,Barnes and the others were revelations. But can they be compared to Downing, Adam and Carrol? Downing was a big letdown considering he had played top flight football for years before joining Liverpool. And we paid 20mn for him! Adam is another player who dissappoint us with his erratic display when he plays. Carroll tries his best but he is not getting the type of support he used to have in Newcastle. i was dissappointed when Rafa was forced to leave. If he is given the financial support like Kenny has he would have brought us more progress.

06 Apr 2012 11:10:04
Macca told - we trying to sign 2 La Liga players, WHO WILL MAKE A DIFFERANCE.

MAKE A DIFFERANCE? Then options are:
Javi Martinez
Iker Muniain
Mesut Ozil
Nuri Sahin
Roberto Soldado
Fernando Llorente
Christian Tello
Seydou Keyta
Gonzalo Higuain

{Ed002's Note - I appreciate that Ronaldi, Messi and Benzema could not not make a difference, but don't you think Pedro would make a difference?}

Ed002 what do you mean about Pedro is he available? {Ed002's Note - If he can't MAKE A DIFFERENCE obviously he would be on no interest to Liverpool.}

In all fairness to the poster and ed, i don't think keite or pedro will mak a difference...imo not good enough

If thats not a hint then its definitely a tease ED! You old rascal you!

Rossi,Valero,Negredo,Affellay,Susueta,Banega,Isco,De Marcos,Herrera,Kike,Falcao,Diego!!

Would absolutely love pedro,great player but doubt he would come liverpool

I think ed was just saying pedro could make a difference whats the point of listing players that could make a difference when their are sooooo many

06 Apr 2012 11:09:36
I dont wanna blow the tin on Maccas revalation but I can reveal the two La Liga players signing for LFC.

Edmonson Cavanni
Philip Lahms
Class Jan Hunterler

{Ed002's Note - Nailed it. Well done.}

HAHAH!!

YoungRed

Might be believable if any of the names were spelt right. The only one that's even got part of the name right was the "Jan" in Huntelaar's name.

Cavani is one of the players Macca is talking about. See I told you Ed2 that it would be Cavani and your arrogance and stupidity in denying it is now being shown up because Macca agrees with me. Go back to your plastic flag page because you give us no good information at all. {Ed002's Note - You have signed up for the Ed002 Appreciation Society I hope at: tinyurl.com/7fbgecd - a fun place to be.}

This rumour is brilliant. Good league knowledge too.

So many inaccuracies - where do we start?

@ The 3rd Answer, Cavani plays in Serie A, not La Liga!
So it would appear you are in fact incorrect!
JamieMK {Ed002's Note - Maybe Macca got it wrong and meant Serie A not La Liga?}

Well thinking the same. They are doing brilliant in La liga. . :D

I think this post may have been a pee take lol
LeeWils

Not only do none of those play in La Liga, you have said you would blow the lid on the 2 which macca said would join and then named 3

It's these pirated copies of FM.

This casts a dark shadow on the british education system, that somebody says two and then lists three. learn to count mate.

Some people need to lighten up this was a JOKE

06 Apr 2012 11:01:47
OK ED are we signing Ozil?
RedSoxLiver {Ed002's Note - I don't see Oezil necessarily being available in the summer but Liverpool and Manchester United may well be interested if he is - but Champions League qualification being achieved may be a pre-requisite for any move he makes. I am sure that there would be plenty of interest from elsewhere, not least Inter Milan who bid against Madrid to buy him originally, and Juventus. Whilst he had what was seen as a very good season last year, this season has been patchy at best with a lot of time on the bench. Real Madrid may listen to offers in the region of 25M euros or so.}

I personally dont see Oezil coming to Liverpool in the summer. His first preference is to stay at Madrid, and I'm told that would be Mourinho's preference as well. Should he be told he is leaving I think United is a much more likely destination despite the fact that Oezil has said before that no Champs League is not a deal breaker.

I know he left the Club under selfish circumstances but would anyone take Owen back on a 1 year deal if he leaves Utd? When he does play for Utd he scores and we need goals.

Tommo

No, sorry I do not believe it would be a good move. Besides he spends most of his time at his racehorse facility which is where his heart is now. {Ed002's Note - In the States we used to call a "racehorse facility" stables. It is interesting you don't use the same word in the UK.}

We can get better current players other than Owen and he is the wrong end of 30 but I agree he might get some goals

But he NEVER plays ever!! He played one game this season and a handful last season. Ridiculous suggestion mate.
KiwiRed

Tommo is your second name connor with a suggestion like that

No. Simple as that. We should look forwards and not backwards. He is too injury prone as well.

Gaz1975.

Why would anyone wana sign that gutless, glory hunting little crock.
Anyone ever notice why he never gets mentioned in greatest ever player lists?
Because he had pace, and scored goals, granted. But once the pace had gone, he was a n average at best footballer.
plus I see him as scum now.
He could have done the decent thing and signed for a mid_table team, and got games. But he went to ManU for money and his "England Career".
Sod him.

I would not like to see Owen back at lfc.
i would sooner see the Bellamy situation worked out.
mick owen left thats the way it should stay. thanks mal

And i can confirm unbelievable in this instance means hell on

Never would i like to see him back..he deserves everything he got,hopped into bed with the mancs for money,pure greed

No thanks ! once a manc never a red !!

06 Apr 2012 10:37:37
I can confirm to you all macca was talking about messi and ronaldo. Thanks.

When i read this i get the song in a land of make belive by bucksfizz strange but true

It's amazing that 24 out of 27 people have currently voted this as believable

06 Apr 2012 10:19:57
Eds ehat is the chance of joining junior holliet on a free transfer. Free transfer means absolutely free or we have to pay something to sign players.
AN INDIAN RED {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool in Hoilett at this time. Bolton, Spurs, Newcastle, Stoke, Arsenal and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany, including Bayern Munich. I understand that Roma may press to have Hoilett sign a pre-contract agreement with them - which may spark further interest from Germany. The English sides are at a disadvantage in the chase for Hoilett now as he is in to the last six months of his contract and he can talk to interested parties from outside of England. Blackburn will offer him a new deal but I doubt he will be interested. If pushed, I would say North London or foreign shores are teh most likely destinations. Due to his age the buying club will need to pay compensation to Blackburn - the value varies depending where he moves to.}

06 Apr 2012 10:11:21
I was informed we are chasing Javi Martinez and Iker Muniain. Muniain is available and the 40m for Martinez must be negotiable. We will need to offer big wages to fend off interest from teams with CL football. With the players we are likely to let go I think it's feasible. Any thoughts eds? Thanks.

Wavertree Red {Ed002's Note - The price that would be asked for each is about 40M euro. If they are Liverpool targets I suspect Munian may be a viable option but would not see that to be true for Martinez. Manchester City are probably looking to replace Nigel De Jong in the summer and Javi Garcia and Javi Martinez were the two players they are looking at. I was told a while back that Inter Milan may make a bid for Javi if they decide not to take Juraj Kucka from co-owners Genoa. I am not convinced that Bilboa will want to sell the player any time soon, and if they do they will want 40M euro with Barcelona and Real Madrid being possible destinations. Garcia has signed a new deal at Benfica so I imagine Martinez will become a serious target for Manchester City who may also face interest from Manchester United in addition to the Spanish clubs. Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. Roma interest is still there but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Inter no longer see Martinez as an option as Moratti is reluctant to spend such an amount on one player.

They will be looking at cheaper options.

Nevada

But if i were javi martenez i'd think to myself, me an lucas as team mates, we'd be the most organised and solid partnership since Xavi and Iniesta. {Ed002's Note - It really does not work that way.}

06 Apr 2012 10:09:23
totally agree with macca that we need to get behind kenny until the end of the season , the man has done alot for this club and we must give him and the players full support till the end of the season , we want to go into the fa cup game against everton with confidence and support from fans.

I think the players that macca has suggested that we are targeting will be , fernando llorente and iker munain , reason being is that we have had interest in both in the past , both quality talents in positions we need to fill ( striker and winger ) also both at a decent age.

other possible la liga players we could be interested in :

Rossi , Benzema , Higuain , Banega , ozil , soldado , falcao , javi martinez , raul abiol

DLG

It seems odd that the "young and english/british" transfer policy would have disappeared....

Preferably british was the line. Maybe they have realised that English young talent isn't widely available....

We should back Kenny to the hilt! He is the manager and he will deliver. If not we will end up changing manager every year like other clubs, and that's just not the LFC way.

Gaz1975.

Rafa and Paco please! just come back lads and sort it out. get rid of the rubbish we bought last summer, accept that we cocoked it up and sign more players like Agger, alonso, mascherano and this time when you have the opportunity to buy say a Daniel Alves just pay the price Simoa etc just pay it don't buy 2nd choise Pennant etc ask Rafa back. we were very silly sacking him and not giving him a chance to put things right

We've all been behind him for 18 months - how much more do you want?

I think that we should get behind the team.
but never loose sight of no individual is greater than the club lfc must be served as the only real consideration lest we must remember the money payed on the summer transfers and their inept performances for us which should taken into consideration.
also a bit part of rafa's leaving was the aqua transfer thanks mal

We don't need that sort of player unless carroll is sold. we need a mobile SURE FOOTED poacher like soldado or rossi

To poster no.4 ...bring back Rafa and Pako...really? I'm pretty sure that will never happen esp. after their very public fall-out. Definitely bring back Pako but the other guy you can keep. His negative tactics, boring style and substandard signings were detrimental to the club. Look how he destroyed Inter Milan in a matter of weeks..and Mourinho had won 3 trophies with that same team incl. the Champions league. Maybe if more money had been available his transfer range may have been higher but the steadfast refusal to buy a quality goalscorer who could play up front with Torres (and in place of Torres) cost us a title in 2008-09. Added to that when you factor in that his pettiness cost us Alonso he's far better off where he is.

Destroyed Inter Milan,don't make me laugh.Maureen was actively interfering in the internal politics of the Inter dressing room,why do you think Benitez wanted to clear so many of the senior players out.Plus Inter have been succesful since he left.

Pettiness,I give up .

Kuyt,Maxi and Aurelio to leave this summer

Don't come on here spouting common sense.

06 Apr 2012 09:01:54
Ok so going on macca's latest news, my predictions for ins are: Soldado, Ozil, Matty Phillips, Moussa Sissoko, and a right back hopefully Mauricio Isla. If we were able to sign these players we could be a force next season in my opinion. I cant see us getting, tello or muniain, llorente or Martinez. Rossi perhaps, but more likely to go off to Italy, and Jesus Navas wont leave due to home sickness. So by deducting these names away from the post where macca said someone had guessed right it leaves soldado and Ozil. Both I could see us signing.
KiwiRed {Ed002's Note - We are not going to allow people to try and play the Eds off against Macca.}

KiwiRed {Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

Hi Eds.
I have 2 questions:
1)If we get an offer of £15m or around for Andy Carroll,do you see the club selling him?
2)If we sell L.Suárez is for covering the loss we are aiming to face when if we sell andy Carroll?(with an of A.C lower than what we paid and the one of L.Suárez bigger than what we paid).
THX. {Ed002's Note - Forget the money side of it. You seem to be weaving some complex inter-related scenario. Carroll will be available and I suspect Suarez will leave.}

He may be available but who in their right mind will want him?

Spurs and villa would want him at the right price.Also if stoke get a few of their books maybe they could make an offer Carroll seems like a stoke type of player.

I think i'd take 15m for carroll if we could get someone in for that price who is good enough to be in the first team like gaston ramirez or isla.

06 Apr 2012 07:08:31
Hi Eds,
Seen from reliable source LFC are being linked with Hernanes from Lazio.
If this is true,how much could he cost?
Thx. {Ed002's Note - I think that there would be interest in the player at the right price but Lazio may have a figure above £20M in mind.}

06 Apr 2012 02:08:41
Hi Eds,
Are we interested in Nicklas Bendtner,24.
He could be available for £4m,not a bad squad player.
Thx. {Ed001's Note - nope, we might as well bring back Ngog as sign dross like Bendtner.}

Ur getting desperate arent u mate? Bendtner? Come on for christ sake! Hes the s**ttest player ever!

Or keep carroll

People like you are the sole reason we are in this position.. Really Bendtner...!!

THINK BIGGER AND BETTER...!!

Musicnation

Lmao, this "dross" has scored more goals than Ngog and Carroll combined this season...Bendtner would b a good backup striker though i would target Van Wolfswinkel coz he is predatory and can score 20+ goals with better service. Why didn't we go for Albrighton than Downing crap.........

Can we expect some unexpected players with good talent, low price from other leagues? {Ed002's Note - If you expect the unexpected it can no longer be unexpected. So, expect the expected.}

Well said old bean ed001 total poppycock
maybe sean dundee also must go i have a pimms waiting

Yeah or bring back pacecho ha

Is this guy on drugs "bendtner" get real ya clown

06 Apr 2012 02:05:15
Hi Eds,
Are we interested in slovakian goalkeeper Marian Kello,29. as he has parted company with Hearts and will be a free agent in the summer.
IMO,he could a good back-up for Reina.
Thx in advance to your answer.
Y.N.W.A {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, he is set to join Villa.}

Only keeper in Scotland I rate is McGregor and with Ranger money problem we could snap him up for less than 3 million , other then that Cammy Bell looks Good but not good enough yet . Craig Gordon contract at Sunderland is up soon who could be an Option ?

06 Apr 2012 00:19:34

Is that a yes then?

Yeah you have about a 0.01% chance.
