Eds any chance of Deniz Aycicek from hannover 96 {Ed002's Note - No.}

Lol because in fifa he becomes 94 rated ... Some people seriously!

Buck has came out on SSN and said Pepe is going no where! So maybe if we don't get 4th then he may well leave in the summer! But not until then!

He said that about Carroll.

You can't be serious about wanting to call him Buck?

I thought you meant Bruce Buck at first, I was wondering what he could possibly know about Pepe Reina.

Let's stick to Brendan Rodgers for now.

"I would have to be nuts to let Andy Carroll leave this club"

Sturridge is nailed on to join us, defiantly happening.
sired

Its any bin in papers and eds confirming we have made an approach.

So well done chap

05 Dec 2012 18:37:15
First I've heard of it

If he can't make it at Chelsea what makes you think he'll make it at us and be a good player. I don't want Chelsea hand-me-downs!

I really hope this isn't true.

I will be defiantly against it

05 Dec 2012 19:22:46
I don't believe these reports what's there to say we are actually interested in him who says? Macca ain't said anything. ( i actualy believe he would be a great partner for suarez. technique and gifted on ball not so much a goalscorer but maybe through the middle would suit him. {Ed002's Note - I have explained on numerous occasions about the interest shown in Sturridge.}

You will all be eating your words by the end of the season as he will be like an English version of Henry

I think sturridge would move into sterlings role on the right of the three ,and rayhem can have a rest .

Can those people saying ''he's not getting into the chelsea squad why would we want him''

please get a clue,different managers prefer different players as to how they want to play and It's clear having spent £50 mil on torres abramovic wants him to play (hence dimatteo sack for not starting him,and appointment of rafa) hazard and mata are world class operators which is strong competition for a wide role. Sturridge is better down the centre and Suarez better cutting in from the left.

Bent doesn't get a look in at villa annymore as lambert doesn't like him,nor did defoe under 'arry last year, or pvlyuchenko. Nani rarely plays for UTD now...There are numerous reasons players don't start. It's not all to do with form.

Lets get realistic. We need to get in some players who will push us up the league. I think Sturridge can be a goal scorer for us. Whoever we buy if the fans see the effort and fight on the pitch we will get behind our new number 9 and make him feel like a god. Whether it be Sturridge or not

If these rumours are to be believed, then i for one will back him all the way. I truly do believe Sturridge can and will be a very good player for us, look how he adapted his game when loaned to Bolton, quick, good technique, can pass a man at will and a good eye for goal, every thing we (LFC) are screaming for, so if the lad does join us, get behind him eh guys..

I'm on the fence with this, he knows were the net is but can be a bit ball greedy at times, he won't get a start while torres is still there and crying on that russians sholder to play, I wouldn't put sturridge as an out and out striker tho, are there any other strikers in the pipeline too?

Why should we get sturridge ? if the papers are true he demanded 2 things 80 grand a week and to be played through the middle,seems to me hes a bit too cocky and maybe has an attitude problem

"IF" the papers are true.. what a person!..YagEraDetinu

Ed's i saw ed001 said earlier that we have been scouting various goalkeepers. Have u got any names of who they are? is ter-stegen one {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath for Ter Stegen right now.}

I agree if were looking at selling Reina then Ter Stegen has got to be No.1.

BigD

AC milan could be a likely destination for Ter Stegen

Apples ;96;

FC Twnte's keeper, one of our old youth prospects from Bulgaria/Hungry, some where like that, forgive my ignorance. Nik Mihalyov, if spelt correctly then that'll make up for before.

But he was apparently coming to Liverpool, he said Pepe's heart wasn't in it any more, apparently, also they share the same agent i've heard. But he seemed most likely in my opinion although this was some time ago now and some managers ago.

Brendan Rogers has said we are not looking for a goalkeeper, no 1 or back up so I would rather believe him than all the rumours also Pepe Reina or Brad Jones are not for sale, straight from The Boss. Maybe now we can put that 1 to bed and stop taking everything you hear from every newspaper or sports media outlet as gospel. Time would be better served supporting the club,Simonpw

Ed do you know any keeper we have been scouting? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any since the January window, but a replacement will be required for Doni if Gulasci does not step up.}

Is Doni back in Liverpool Ed? Last I heard was the Echo article that claimed he was scheduled to come back, but that was a month ago and I haven't heard anything since. {Ed002's Note - At this moment in time, I do not know where Doni is.}

Hi eds, Hulk has officially said he wanna leave Zenit during the january transfer window due to problems wit the manager. And manager himself has criticised saying he wil find a replacement for Hulk(source:espn). I dono if v r interested in him but v were scoutin him before he moved to zenit. He can be perfect for Liverpool cos he's got strength, pace, technique, creativity and a gud finisher too and he is oly 26 and i hope v can sign him easily as wel. Wat do u think guys? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were not "scouting" him. He will not be signing for Liverpool in January. Liverpool could not afford to buy him. I cannot see any chance of him leaving in January to play for another club. }

Do you know how much Hulk wants in wages {Ed002's Note - It makes no difference as far as Liverpool is concerned.}

Cant afford to buy him,yet we are told FSG have no top budget in the TF market?

Personally, i believe Liverpool's owners could afford someone like Hulk, if they wanted. They showed if they want someone then they can get someone, when we bid an outrageous amount for Carroll who's club didn't want to sell and Downing, who's club didn't want to sell after they lost Ashley Young to Man United, we made them substantial offers they couldn't resist, in a sense.

Now those two moves were woeful and it hasn't worked out, FSG may be put off by trying to sign large fee players, i don't know. But they could certainly afford to pay high transfer fees if they so wish and have done so, so on that basis i believe they've showed that they could buy someone like Hulk.

For months many if not all the Ed's agreed Suarez was out of Liverpool's reach, he had better options, he'd want Champions League football, as he has it every season at Ajax. Well he had a dispute with Ajax and the manager, he was banned for a long time and he wanted out and we stepped in and got him.

Personally i don't believe we will sign Hulk/Cavani/Falcao or any player of this stature or calibre in the game for a while, it's highly unlikely we will buy Hulk but i believe FSG could afford him and i also believe he'd be outstandingly awesome. If they did sign Hulk to play up with Suarez then i think all the fans would see that they mean business, real business. But most likely it will be Daniel Sturridge, the fall is quality is not short!

Ed002 you should really stay in the Chelsea rumours site , you constantly tell us how good our owner's are and and post (doesn't matter as far as Liverpool are concerned) truth be told as long as we have owner's like fsg who spend money on baseball players (24 million) on one player Chelsea will always be ahead of us.I don't expect this to be posted but I find your to quick to shoot down any big name player linked to us yet you tell us we have good owner's.The mention of Chelsea is because you are a Chelsea fan which is fine but you can't be so quick and snappy with comments on here even if you are a moderator we still are a big club for now even if we aren't making big signings , your comments are welcomed but please do not be so quick to say we can't afford player's.We are lfc 5 times European champions without a sugerdaddy.
Eam {Ed002's Note - There is zero chance of Hulk joining Liverpool in January - absolutely none. Perhaps you should face up to the truth rather than grizzle about me. It is nothing whatsoever to do with Chelsea.}

I believe Hulk can be affordable. If v r interested in him of course v can buy as our fellow Reds explained above. I read this news yest(HULK want to leave zenit) but it was removed instantly. HULK can play in many positions upfront. I think he can be the best deal than ny1 else v r scoutin now. {Ed002's Note - There is absolutely no chance of Hulk leaving Zenit to join Liverpool in January.}

I heard that Rafa was interested in him while at Liverpool and had been since his (Hulk's) second season at Porto. I think he is a smashing player who can get past defenders or even run them over if he likes.. Having said that, i think FSG are broke at the moment and are taking losses in the States, which means their priority is Baseball and it always will be baseball.

I would live to see Hulk. he would also rather play at a high profile league, if only to make his mark as a footballer. Spanish clubs have not shown much of an interest though, neither have the big clubs in Europe. In england you have chelsea and city and unites and aresenal who can afford him but none of those teams need a player like him. leaving Liverpool as the biggest name who are in desperate need for great players looking to make a mark.

We can only hope. But i agree with the ed, a tiny tiny tiny chance if any. We will end up with a few bargains, a loan or two and thats that. {Ed002's Note - I said nothing of a "tiny tiny tiny chance" of Hulk moving to Liverpool in January. I explicitly said that there is no chance. Zero chance if you prefer. None, nada, zilch, zip, diddly-squat, naught.}

Hasn't Hulk already played for Porto as well as Zenit this year meaning he can't play for another club this season? {Ed002's Note - Correct.}

Hehe, as I was scrolling down the page I wondered how long it would take someone to work out that when ed002 meant "no chance", it wasn't just based on opinion, rather than being based on the transfer rules.

Still, maybe there's a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny chance the owners will buy him in January, and have him in the stands as a celebrity supporter until he can play for us next season.... or not.

morning all , Question eds have any of you seen alessandrini from stade rennes , think hes 23 winger seems to chip in with goals very pacey , scored some good goals this season against nancy and psg. do you think this would be a good and realistic addition to our squad ?

REDAN {Ed002's Note - Not realistic - sorry.}

Hello Ed,
any interest from LFC in Jetro willems ?
thanks
Red T {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

More like jetro tull

If we are looking at a Left-Back then he would no doubt be a very wise choice

05 Dec 2012 09:47:00
Hi Eds, do you think with Dortmund doing awesomely in the Champions' League, Liverpool's reported move for Kevin Grosskeutz has any substance at all? Will we go for him... or will Walcott/Sturridge be a better option?

Cheers,
Gogol {Ed002's Note - I have explained my view on each of these, please try teh search engine.}

If all we can do is go for players like Sturridge then we will be waiting a bout 10 more years to win the prem Sturridge = rubbish

05 Dec 2012 09:27:56
Ed, any news on this sturridge 'deal'? Personally I think he'd be a decent signing {Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation many times. Please try the search engine.}

latest liverpool rumours are that liverpool are looking to offer

reina to arsenal in an attempt to get walcott as part of deal and 5 million cash

bring in robert zieler from hannover who is reported to have a 12.5 mill buy out clause
they will also look to bring in butland from birmingham as jones is not trusted

thomas ince in around about a 6 million deal will come home from blackpool with stuart downing looking to be off loaded to help finance january moves

raheem sterling has signed his deal but will not be announced untill his 18th birthday

liverpool will look to sell joe cole to qpr to free up wages

we will also look to agree a permanant deal for andy carroll to west ham with diame + cash as deal

are attacking options will be daniel sturridge in a 12 million pound deal and klaus huntelarr in a 10 million pound deal as suarez has himself picked him as preferred partner up front in short

Looks good apart from reina out, but I just can't see us bringing in 7 players in January

All of this is believable, I doubt we'd spend money on two young keepers tho...

So in January we will be bringing in 7 players and we will receive 12 m for Cole and Downing seriously you need to phone your GP

Great if true but actually very funny

Transfers do not work like that. The money FSG get from player sales dont automatically get throw into a 'transfer kitty' as such. We will be looking to recovcer a small margin of what we spent so dont expect all the 7 players which you have mentioned to arrive at Liverpool in January. Agreed, Walcott is a possibility, but with Arsenal wanting possibly £10m+ for a player thats out of contract in the summer & a player which they would like to keep and not sell to a rival, it may prove hard. Diame we could have had on a free but we decided against it and his heart problems might put alot of teams off which is a shame becuase he is a very good player. Huntelaar is over rated and not gettign any younger, Sturridge is greedy but his game to goal ratio is fairly impressive. Butland is going to be a top keep but to be fair, he has had a pretty sh*t season for the blue this year and zieler i dont have a foggiest pal.

Apples ;96;

Sterling is not legally allowed to sign a long term deal until he is 18

Absolutely ridiculous

Mystic red you playing football manager?

We will not sell Reina until at least the Summer.
We have a reported 35% sell on fee in the Ince deal, so knock that off his price to start.
Cole i think we will let go for free, to free up his salary.
Carroll is on a season long loan to WHU who i believe will be a tug of war between them and Newcastle come August. which is good as we may get more money for him.

Lee73

How can sterling sign a deal he is still 17, if this where true he would have signed it years ago, rubbish rumours. {Ed052's Note - Sterling can sign a deal now. But it would be shorter than the one he will sign when he's 18 *fingers crossed*}

05 Dec 2012 19:29:14
"please print eds as information like this only comes to those in the no"

....or those who read the papers and various websites.

More like Septic Red.

Can you answe one question for me please Mystic Meg? I'm a lot older than you, so do you still get to take your toys in to school on the last day of Christmas term these days?

Cheers, Sean.

Well there it is Eds you might aswel close the site down because mystic meg has blown us all out the water and spoilt Christmas

QPR are battling relegation. No way will they look to buy Joe Cole

Why would we pay 7 million for Diame when he went to west ham on a free in the summer?

Your calculations are a contrition on the first part of your statement as well: If Reina get's us Theo & 5 mil, then why have you calculated Reina out for 15 and Theo in for 12?

Nice try though, utter tosh, but nice try.

Why both Zieler and Butland?

and paying 7m for diame with a 6m release clause? and 10m for huntelaar who is out of contract when we could get Bafetimbi Gomis for that price or Aubameyang for like £8m

Instead of wasting our time with your fantasies, why don't you go and learn how to spell, you halfwit.

David

Well Mystic Red, I fear your balls are faulty!

05 Dec 2012 12:52:02
Carroll wants long term move to West Ham and we aretrying to include West Ham Mohamed Diame in the deal. Great cover for Lucas

LFC93

If I was Carroll I'd be waiting to see if BR get's sacked by next summer, to see if he'll get another chance at LFC with a new manager.

That would be a great deal, so wish we signed him in the summer, i remember him being one of dalglishes targets before he got the chop

That's not the deal and it cannot be established as yet - if WHU stay up then they HAVE to buy him for I understand £17m...what we choose to accept as payment of that fee is up for negotiation but only at the point WHU can no longer be relegated - more than likely given his loan is for the year nothing will be discussed until after the season ends.

Indy 'lance' kaila let you in on that one then good ole tweet and delete never fails to amuse

We already have more than enough central midfielders

If Rodgers is sacked at end of season and Mourinho comes in for example than Carroll will have another chance

Kev H YNWA,

You said the owners are coming on the 26th of January to finalise a deal for a 'premier' player.

January 26th just so happens to be my birthday, and I invited Tom and John to my Birthday bash.. So don't get your hopes up mate!

YNWA! (Adam)

I've got some bad news for you Adam - They're dropping Linda off at my place so I can show her around Amsterdam!
DM2012

Happy birthday

05 Dec 2012 11:59:09
i heard in the summer that john achterberg was on his way out but heard nothing since. Is he there to stay or have you heard anything about BR replacing him. Personally i think he is useless.
FowlerisGod

05 Dec 2012 13:08:25
It will probably be Swansea's goal keeping coach. He'd taken the rest of hte back room staff from there

I thought the same. He was blamed for Reina's poor form, but is still listed on official website as GK coach.

05 Dec 2012 11:16:07
Hi eds, friend of mine who usually gets good info regarding our targets states that we are looking at the Dutch league for a young talented striker and the German league for an experienced winger (did post this twice last week but did not appear). He told me over the weekend that Huntelaar is definitely one of the priority targets. Any idea who the other 2 may be?

Thanks for your time

IMH {Ed001's Note - it was posted, I posted it myself.}

Apologies, did not see it. Did you have any idea as to the 2 players he may be referring too.

Thanks
IMH {Ed001's Note - no mate, we have scouted hundreds of players recently, it is impossible to say who is an actual target until a move is made of some kind to sort out a transfer.}

HopefullY the young telented striker is Bony, or maybe Finnbogason?

05 Dec 2012 09:31:28
Morning eds,

A friend of mine in Germany has said Liverpool are interested in zieler, he's usually pretty close when he gives me German info. Any idea if we are looking at him?

Nevada {Ed001's Note - we have had him looked at, not heard of any move being made yet though. There is definitely a concerted effort to scout keepers, which suggests a move for one must be in the offing though.}

With Zieler and Butland who have been mentioned they're both young do you think this would just be to be understudy to Reina for the time being then obviously cup and possible Europa time then replace him in the future? {Ed001's Note - it depends on if you believe the interest in Butland is genuine, I certainly remain to be convinced.}

If its true we are seeking to sell Reina then i think the replacement should be Ter Stegen only.

BigD

Ed001, I hope the interest is not true to be perfectly honest, he made a few decent saves at the Olympics and everyone over hypes him, much like Kirkland and Carson for Liverpool in the past I don't believe he is good enough, and a few poor performances for Birmingham have not changed my mind. I think a lot of the good keepers at the moment are in the German league Zieler not being the best for me either I think as young keepers go Ter-Stegen and Leno are both better keepers than him. {Ed001's Note - he has been poor this season, he was ok at League 2 level, but made errors that were written off as youthful mistakes. I certainly wouldn't be happy if we paid a big fee for him, he won't get much better playing in the reserves.}

Zieler is a decent goalie. Agile, quick of his line. Might struggle a little with crosses but won't get beat at near post often. I'd take him.

Nevada

Lets not all pull the wool over ourt eyes on this, we NEED another keeper. as much as pepe has been good in the past,he has cost us several goals,and his performances have been in a steady decline for 2 years. He either needs competition or to be shifted whilst we can still get good money for him. If as the rumours say Arsenal come in for him,I'd get rid. bring in vermeer,mandanda or some oen else.

05 Dec 2012 10:37:07
Llorente, Isco and Walcott are the 3 players LFC wants this January, everyone else is a smokescreen.
From a source inside Fenway.

Brad

05 Dec 2012 11:06:37
Wish this were true.

Thats would be a Nice xmas presie if True

Muggitzo

Would be extremely surprised if Isco wanted to join Liverpool with no Champions League football.

In our dreams

Llorente and isco? lol, looking forward to tomorrow's joke post!

Smokescreen lol i love it

I dont think ive ever seen a real smoke screen, I just dont think clubs use them. Every transfer window we hear the same thing. Basically all the players linked with us are due to alot of people making up lies along the press rehashing old stories and guessing at which players are moving. In terms of the name s yopu mentioned, they might well be true and the club might actually want them but I dont expect us to actually get any of them especially Lorente, well be one of the last in the cue. Ill gladly appolagise if im wrong.

J

Of course you could see past that smokescreen Brad

KrishnaYNWA

That would be amazing! Fenway did say they'd put a smile on our faces this jan.

Rubbish. Liverpool scouted Llorente in the summer he was only giving a C grade by liverpool scouts. He is no were near a Liverpool Shopping list

Not a chance from someone outside of fenway standing on the other side of the smoke screen.

Smokescreen sounds more like your farts than relevant information

As soon as the word "Smokescreen" you know the post is made up bull!

NS

This would make my year but we all know its not true... why Brad? like really?
JK

April 1 coming very early in 2013.

Llorente a "C"... really? Someone needs to go back to school.

05 Dec 2012 10:13:05
Just a quick one..

Walcott is a number 1 target for Liverpool in January and a bid will ceryainly be made. A few stumbling blocks could be Champions League football assurances for next season which we simply cannot guarentee and also the fact Arsenal are a tricky club to deal with when it comes to transfers.

I would not be at all suprised to see us show interest in Mertens in January

Were also after a young lad from Crystal Palace called Williams (have no idea who he is and have never seen play?)

and finally im 100% confident that Raheem Sterling will sign a new contract once he has turned 18.

Apples '96'

Jonny Williams for Crystal Palace. Ive watched him a few times. Very good player only problem is he has a very bad injury record

He is a young welsh player in the same mould as Joe Allen

05 Dec 2012 08:13:16
Headline in today's papers:

Exclusive: Reina on way out of Liverpool as Rodgers eyes Butland... with Sturridge and Ince set to join England stopper at Anfield

Not sure about this one, if we were to let Reina go and sign a 19 year old keeper... He's still very young and not really proven, look at De Gea

Barry B

If liverpool sign a first choice goalkeeper then it has to be Begovic he is a liverpool fan and one of the best in the league and we only get better

murton red

De Gea is a class keeper and will be one of the worlds best in a few years, Butland has had one good season. Massive difference between the two!

Melbourne CFC {Ed001's Note - one good season in League 2 as well, he has not been having a good season in the Championship.}

Sturridge - probably
Ince - possibly

Reina leaving - very much doubt it

You read too much s..n and dm thats not happening, its desktop journalism

Wouldnt see the sense in replacing Reina with a possible prospect. Someone like Butland is too young and inexperienced to come in as no. 1. If we did end up with a new kleeper, should be someone with experience, not some up and coming kid. (No harm in picking them up as an understudy though).

I think Butland would jump at the chance to join Liverpool, imagine him as understudy to Reina(i don't believe the papers that Reina will be sold), Butland would get all the cup games and Reina the epl.

BigD

05 Dec 2012 07:40:07
Are we actually planning to sign a keeper in your knowledge? Either 1st choice or second choice

Sam

Brad jones will be moved on, thus the new search for an assistant keeper to Pepe, Butland will be cheaper and for the future. DanieRed

Brad jones will be moved on, Pepe is there to stay. daniered

Eds, is there any news on movement for Lenny Nangis of Caen?

ocuinn {Ed002's Note - No.}

Don't you mean Gengis Caen ?

04 Dec 2012 19:19:25
Question to any of the Eds really, but I have a sneaky suspicion Ed002 might be best placed to answer. I have a feeling that Liverpool really are trying to thrash out a deal for Sturridge, because the rumours from all sources just won't die down. If that is the case, or if there are other interested clubs, are the media wide of the mark with the alleged £15 million transfer fee for Sturridge or is this close to what Chelsea actually want for him?

Cheers in advance,

Sean {Ed002's Note - Sean, the deal is as I explained. The value you mention puts a number up against me that I have no intention of defending.}

Thanks anyway Ed002. I genuinely didn't mean to attribute the £15 million price tag to you if that was how it seemed. What I think I was trying to ask was whether he was out of our price bracket (if £15million was correct) and whether we were instead looking to loan him. So it was more about if the media are correct that we are trying to buy him, would you know if the media's figures might be correct, there or therabouts. However I can completely understand you not wanting to have a particular figure held up against you.

I suppose what I'm really curious about is the mixed, and seemingly contradictory, messages that are coming from Anfield on an almost weekly basis about whether we have sufficient funds to actually buy Sturridge, or a different player with a similar price tag. The owners say one thing with regards to fans being very happy in January, and then Brendan says we haven't got a great deal and may get one or two loans in. Anyway, I've had a read back through some of your previous comments on the situation and they've been more helpful than the recent Melwood press conferences have been.

Thanks again,

Sean

Fair play to Chelsea if they flog him to us for over £10m, will be their only bit of good fortune in a while.

Sturridge is not a £15m player at the moment. He is not playing for his club and they are desperate to get rid of him. Not to mention his already high wages which will put of the ajority of clubs in the league. Ian Ayre's team and Rodgers need to be more savvy.

IMO we should offer Chelsea £7m, point out to them that no other club can afford his wages and let them take our cash.

It all could be lazy journalism and a smokescreen for some uncovered gems though.

Long Live the King

(Eds how's things, can I come to your xmas party please?)

I agree with the above comment, I don't think he's worth 15m really. However unfortunately Chelsea probably wont see it that way. At the end of the day he has scored goals in the premier league, he's Enlgish, and he's young. With regards to his talent, hes quick and obviously as we know, does have the eye for goal and if given his chances usually takes them. H'es not the hardest working but neither is Sterling or Suso... BR could probably get 12-15 goals a season out of him, and that would go some way to remove the burden from Suarez. I think anywhere around the 10-12M mark is fair for both clubs - if we get him for 7-8M I will be surprised but pretty happy, if its over 12M then Chelsea have done well. With regards to his wages i cant see him demanding 80k a week, he isn't going ot get it at Liverpool. More likely 50-60k... on another note - I wish I earnt half that much in a year!

I have a couple of mates who are Man City fans and they tell me that there were lots of rumours that he had a a bad attitude when he was at the club and so I'm not sure I'd want him at Anfield.

I actually know his girlfriends - friends- boyfriend as I went to uni with him and lived with him in the last year. He's met him a few times and cant stand him, says he's extremely arrogant and thinks a lot of himself. I've not met him myself though so couldn't pass judgement but his 'attitiude' issue is well documented...
