Don't know if there's any genuine interest in Naby Keita eds? Anyway, if so; there's hardly any real chance of it happening anyway I'd say, considering the fact that Leipzig are owned by Red Bull and they're not short of cash? Cheers lads.

{Ed002's Note - I understand from an Arsenal scout that the club will look to make an offer to RBL for Naby Keita in the summer. He has been looked at by Arsenal on several occasions these past two seasons with interest also being shown by PSG and Dortmund with the prior interest of Bayern Munich waning. There has been no interest shown by Liverpool at this time according to his agent.}

watched 2 RBL games this season. 2nd game this week. Naby is very impressive and tbh looks like an Arsenal-type player.

I am not sure y would Arsenal buy him considering they are over stocked in that area. Coq, Carzola, Xhaka, Eleany. Ramsey, Wilshere.

Probably because most of the players in that position are not very good (Wilshere, El Neny, Xhaka, Coquelin) or always injured (Ramsey, Cazorla) .

Question for ed02 if you're about do Liverpool have any interest in Leon goretzka I keep hearing he's a summer target along with Andrew Robertson/ Tierney, holjberg, Brandt and Malcolm.

{Ed002's Note - Not as far as I am aware.}

Holjberg? Can't even get the Saints team.

Sakho was wanted by Sevilla and Southampton but we priced him out of a permanent move.

Lucas has always been wanted by Inter Milan. Probably still is.

West Ham are apparently keen on Sturridge.

PSG and Barcelona want Coutinho.

PSG are also credited with interest in Firmino and Lallana but that seems unsubstantiated at best and complete fairytale at worst!

Aside from that it is still unclear who might be going and where they will be going.

I don't think anyone in the squad except Mane, Matip, Wijnaldum and Henderson are guaranteed to be in our first choice starting XI next season. The next likely after that would be Firmino and Karius.

Some because we will want rid, some because we will replace them, and some because they will want out.

Wijinaldum has done nothing to be a 'guaranteed first choice' player. He blows hot and cold all the time and rarely lifts himself against the smaller teams - he has a lot to prove.

He was the same for Newcastle. Doubt he's going to change tbh.

Done nothing except score crucial goals against Chelsea, Man City and now Arsenal! Not to mention his stunning performance against Spurs. He is our new Dutchman for the big occasions!

He is so under rated. I am torn between Gini and Mane as our player of the season so far. He was signed as a left attacking midfielder and put in a much deeper role by Klopp, yet he has adapted so quickly and seems to get better and better every week! I cannot express enough just how highly I rate him.

As I said he doesn't turn up against the smaller teams - where was the energy and intensity and box-to-box runs vs Leicester? Or is all we crave now are players who'll turn up for a few big games and go missing in all the others? He has been wildly inconsistent this season and this past week of football illustrates that perfectly. Once again Adam you are wildly optimistic about just how good a player is - Wijinaldum our player of the season? Get a grip mate.

Seano - no one in this team turns up every game. You need to reallywatch games again and put the outcome to the side in order to make a proper assessment. He is as energetic in losses as he was today. but we lost. that clouds all the judgement of him.

In my opinion, nobody has consistently improved throughout the season more than Wijnaldum. And he is the least inconsistent of the whole bunch. His position depends entirely on the players around him. If they don't turn up for a game, then he can't be blamed for it. He's just another underappreciated player like Henderson. I really wonder what some of the others here, are looking at during games.

{Ed025's Note - wijnaldum is decent ra but he has to produce more often for me, the guy has a great engine but drifts in and out of games mate..

05 Mar 2017 13:44:26
I just realized that I am blind. Wijnaldum has been one of our most consistent performers. Neat on the ball, is tough, good movement, gets in the right positions, doesn't lose the ball and has a great engine. He does need to improve his final ball and scoring ability (I know he has scored some key goals but still) but that will come. He isn't flashy but efficient and effective. I can't believe people are talking negative about him. Who exactly in our midfield will you replace him with?

Wijnaldum is 2 thirds into his first season with us so is just about settled in. I think he's done really well considering.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - What! A player settling in to Liverpool after only two-thirds of a season - surely not?}

MK, sportsman bet, Wiji will not be a regular starter next season.

I like him a lot and i think he will become a top player for Liverpool, much like Henderson is now.

Exactly Faith in works. I think he is one of our most consistent players. The issue is that as a deeper midfielder he cannot influence the score line directly as often as he did at Newcastle.

His tracking of runners, tackling, passing, pressing, energy and movement is always there. He is one of the few intelligent players we have. He picks the right moments to go forward which is why he so rarely gets caught out of position. Against stronger sides when he can see nobody is getting into the box he makes the decision to break into the box and it has paid off for him.

Seano I think you're being way too harsh. Out of every player in our squad, Gini and Mane are the only guys who always put in a 7/ 10 performance or better. They never have a game where they are glaringly bad or massively at fault. Testimony to Klopp's vision that is, because most people thought they were dreadful signings 6 months ago.

I am not wildly over rating him anyway. I'm not sitting here saying he is world class or the best in the league etc. I am simply saying that in my opinion he has been one of our top performers. I am entitled to my opinion thank you very much. He is still new to the role, still about 3 years off peak age for a midfielder, and he shows desire to learn. I think he could be a bit more vocal but he is an all round great midfielder. He is good at everything and bad at nothing. He just needs to become great at a few things, continue this form in top European competition, and then he can take a step up to the next level and we can HOPEFULLY talk about him potentially being world class in a few years time.

Mane has been player of the season, by a mile, he's an incredible and his pace and skill scare the opposition. Wijnaldum has pleasantly surprised me. Still think we need a bit more bite in midfield as I think we are too easily out muscled, but you can't knock Wijnaldums effort and commitment.

Wijnaldum has pleasantly surprised me but as for player of the season? Not for me. Lallana has pleasantly surprised me, I wanted him gone last summer but he has made huge improvements but like Wijnaldum has blown far too hot and cold. Firmino or Mane for me, Mane the reasons are obvious but Firmino for his work rate. The high press would be a massive fail without him, his energy and leading the press from the front is fantastic. If only he would score a few more. I don't think Firmino is a striker though to be fair.

Wiji has been solid rather than spectacular. or does he seem better than he is due to can being terrible this season.
Personally against the lesser side I'd like to see coutinho drop into midfield and control the game more.
Or go to 4.2.3.1 either way we need pace on the left side.
