Hi eds, do you know if we ever signed that Marco Bueno. It's just i have been looking all over the reserve and youth teams and cannot find him anywhere, thanks {Ed001's Note - yes, he signed a pre-contract.}

He is 18 at the end of this month and will sign a full contract in April.
Dutchmal

A fee between Pachuca and Liverpool has been agreed and the club and Bueno have completed a pre-contract agreement. Bueno will join Liverpool in April 2012 after his 18th birthday. (Sources Wikipedia)

hey eds, great site!

do you know of any interest in jesus navas? he's a top quality player and has been a member of the spanish national team for some time now. considering the club he's playing for, that is quite an achievement.

i've heard he suffers from homesickness, but surely that couldn't represent too much of an obstacle? he did play in south africa after all.

{ed002's note - there is a lot of difference between playing in a tounie for a couple of weeks and moving permanently. don't hold your breath.}

Remember he gets homesick easily which is a stumbling block ! :(

He suffers from a anxiety/panic disorder from which he cannot leave home.....so no he wouldent go to UK

A few weeks in South Africa is not the same as complete relocation in the UK. Seriously wake up.

I saw him play against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu... If he can play in Madrid for a game, he can surely move to Liverpool for a few years...

Hi ed(s)with RAFA being link with the Chelsea job surley that means TORRES will leave them in the summer.So what other clubs would sign him besides,probally psg or malaga.WE are still favourites. Umaga(SA) {Ed002's Note - Nailed on to return to Liverpool once Rafa arrives.}

I recall a torres interview not so long ago saying how he thought rafa brought out the best in him and understood him etc....

Never! i would rather choke on a crumpet than watch blondie wear a red shirt again

londonred

My sarcasm sensor is going wild right now. Me thinks the ed doesn't believe Rafa will be appointed.

What sort of twisted logic is that? Why would Torres leave if Rafa joined Chelsea? I wasn't aware of any bad blood between them.

I really think we should try for Sahin. Best player in the bundesliga last year but Mou clearly doesn't fancy him. Any Chance?

GuvTOB {Ed002's Note - He has been out injured much of the time. There is no interest that we know of.}

04 Mar 2012 20:27:11
EDS, say if TORRES was to return and he was to apologise to all the fans and suck up to us by saying leaving liverpool was the worst decision of my life, do you think he would be accepted back, please do not say 'TRY THE SEARCH FUNCTION OR LOOK AT PREVIOUS ANSWERS' i want an answer of you , please eds {Ed002's Note - Why waste our time with dumb what if questions that have been answered repeated?}

Hi ed002, why bother not responding but at the same time responding and saying its a dumb question? and also why even bother to post his question if your goin to respond in that way?
scouse brown. {Ed002's Note - Try banging your head on something to see if you can get the other half of your brain to work.}

Ed, maybe we need a Torres coming back to Liverpool section, even alongside the Cavani one, so people wouldn't have to keep asking these silly question, lol?

Keith

If people stopped asking these questions there would be nothing to read on this site half the time. People would just land here, 'use the search function' and piss off.

Where's the fun or logic in that? As scouse brown said - why bother posting his message at all? - that goes for loads of posts here.

How does he/she know if the question was asked before? Should we read the last weeks posts before asking questions? The last month? year? Where are these rules posted?

If you don't want to answer the guy - leave it for another ed who may want to answer. No need to be a person to the guy.

Has the AVB situation really upset you that much?

ed, some advice - You could have just said either -

'Yes', 'No' - 'Maybe' - or even.. 'I don't know'.

Not that hard eh? Any of those responses would have been quicker too.

If you disagree with my assertions - try banging your head on something to see if you can get the other half of your brain to work.

If you still don't understand... then just keep wasting your own time.

BJH YNWA (I still love you ed002 - the people value your opinions, take it as a compliment.) {Ed001's Note - but the incredibly stupid questions about Torres have been asked a million times before and are being asked a million times a day. If we don't post up the odd one people whinge, even though they are just a complete waste of our time as anybody with a brain will know that El Nina is not coming back thankfully. If people would stop asking stupid questions about a player that they fantasise over because he used to be good a long time ago, then we wouldn't have this issue. People like you and Scouse Brown coming along and sticking their oar in just wastes more time on top.}

It's bcoz the ed's are lethargic. If you go to a bank and ask at the counter "how do you open up a bank account?" for the next 50 years. The person would gladly tell you. So whats wrong with the Ed's replying to this rumour or question !!. As the other post said, just give a God damn answer!!. You lot do know that your providing a service to us fans by telling us how likely rumours we hear are to come into fruition. Now when Ed's ESPECIALLY ED02 start giving responses like "use the search function", it shows that they can't handle their site well. If you don't think that this transfer will happen then say a Plain NO!!. I doesn't cost a dime to just type in the word "no" you know. Alternatively, why do you post this if you know that you will tell the person "use the search function". ED's if your tired of your job then why don't you just close this site and get a life and save us fans the trouble of "using the search function" when clearly you can provide a response..... {Ed002's Note - The thing is we are providing education for retromingent glifnards like you who anonymously troll the internet dribbling nonsense from every orifice and trying to spoil things for others. If you are a Liverpool supporter then I am sure your fellow fans see your constant abuse of the Editors, this site and other users as a complete embarrassment. But I am sure you get your rocks off on that.}

I would actually carry your baby Ed002.

Melbourne CFC

Actually the search function is very good on this site and whilst typing some load of drivel is entertaining Scouse Brown could have just typed torres in search and had as many replies as he could have dreamt of
Oh and Melbourne CFC,Ed002 could probably carry her own offspring better than you :o)

Stop it stop it stop it! Torres will not be coming back! Would you even want him back?? He's got more yellow cards than goals this season and if anyone was going to buy him chelsea would want 20 something million for him and I could think of 20+ players that I'd spend 20 million on before torres. Not the same players as he was at all.

People that keep going on about torres are just sad. he is rubbish. he has gone. get a grip. suarez is much better.

Ed what do you think the chances of liverpool signing lucas moura aparently we made an offer for him sometime last year {Ed002's Note - Chances are slim at best. I think Italy a more like destination.}

He wants to move to Inter.

04 Mar 2012 19:54:18
i just wanna ask people are saying that liverpool and chelsea are after LUCAS OCAMPOS but he is only in his first season and playing in the second division of the argentinian league. the last line should say it all {Ed002's Note - Lucas Ocampos plays for River Plate and has been looked at by a number of sides with Bayern Munich and Chelsea maintaining an interest. I understand that Diego Caniggia took a look on behalf of Liverpool but it was decided that he would be too expensive to buy. That seems to have ended any brief interest that Liverpool had. Sevilla and Palermo have also shown an interest and Juventus have made a bid of $15.5M.}

04 Mar 2012 19:51:01
i have been watching ome youtube videos of JAMES RODRIGUEZ and i watched both of the man city vs porto matches,
he is looking a great prospect for the future and he has all the makings of making it in the premier league. he has strength,power,pace and has good finishing and crossing. his release clause is 45 million euro release clause. WHAT DO YOU THINK ED {Ed002's Note - I suspect he is already priced out of a move.}

04 Mar 2012 19:11:24
Hi everyone/eds, the striker that fulham has bought how much did he cost fulham and I'm sure Liverpool was interested? In the summer we defo lacking a 20+ goal scorer.

Lfc fan from Cardiff. {Ed002's Note - I am guessing you mean the Russian Pogrebnyak - he is only on loan. I don't recall interest from Liverpool at all but he was in the news over transfer irregularities.}

04 Mar 2012 18:35:59
Hello Ed002,
is it possible that both Suarez and Carroll will leave at the end of this season? {Ed002's Note - It is possible but I doubt both will leave.}

I hope its carrol that leaves. he is holding us back. We r the most boring team to watch when he is on the pitch. If luis goes, then forget abt top4 next season as well.

Don't want to sound entirely delusional but any chance at all of a return to liverpool for Fernando Torres? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

It was Abramovic that wanted him in the first place, AVB leaving will only strengthen Torres' position at the club imo. It'll be interesting to see who replaces AVB though, whether they can get Torres to play! (Hopefully not).

I'll save you time no

04 Mar 2012 17:11:12
i know perhaps as some would say "match of the day fever" but apparently pavel pogrebnyak has only signed a 6 month deal with fulham and im not being funny but 5 goals in 3 games so far is not bad going at all!
he holds the ball up well has pace and strength and although 28 i think could be a decent acquisition or will he more than likely stay at fulham?
any chance ed? or is it too soon?
merseyred {Ed002's Note - He is only on loan at Fulham because he was not scoring in Germany. I have no idea if Liverpool have become interested in him in the past couple of hours. Sorry.}

Ed002, stinger of a response...it had it all. Ouch! Loved it!

04 Mar 2012 16:16:34
Watching PSV vs Twente, Eds. Got to say Luuk de Jong is a great prospect. Hope we do get him but there's one guy who's really catching the eyes....Ola John. Eds, any interest in him from Lfc?? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps in the future.}

04 Mar 2012 15:54:20
Do you think we could move for pedro or robben in the summer eds? Pedro because he is unhappy about ot playing because he has fallen behind sanchez and robben might be sold for £10m in the summer {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

I wrote yesterday that Luuk de Jong was interested in playing in the EPL but it wasn't posted. I also said that he had a close bond with his brother Siem and that it might be a good idea to try and sign the two of them. Hopefully they would prove to be as successful as other Dutch siblings - the de Boers en the van der Kerkhofs. We shall just have to wait and see.
Dutchmal

Searching.....searching......searching - No. Why are we kidding ourselves with high profile players. We are no longer at that level.

04 Mar 2012 15:47:52
ed, rumours about us planning a 15 mill bid for a french striker called olivier giroud, have u heard anything? {Ed002's Note - It was expected that Giroud would stay within France with a move to PSG but performances this season have seen Lyon, Marseille, Valencia, Newcastle, Villarreal, Arsenal and particularly Malaga show an interest. Nicollin discussed the interest in the player saying Newcastle were too minor a club and Arsenal would have to pay 50M euros, if not 60M euros for the player. The reality is that he will move for perhaps 20M euros in the summer. Interest at the moment is still being shown by Arsenal and Bayern Munich have made an approach to Montpelier. The player declared an interest in a move to Italy but much will depend on the price - I don't see Marseille being able to pay enough, nor perhaps Lyon. It is possible that Liverpool may become interested but at present I understand they are not.}

04 Mar 2012 14:53:43
ed

do you see liverpool signing any top class strikers aka Soldado,lucas barrios,cavani. {Ed002's Note - Possibly, No, Unlikely, No.}

Theres four answers and three questions {Ed002's Note - I was assuming Lucas Moura.}

Man I knew we should of taken soldado. He had a hat trick for Spain!

04 Mar 2012 14:49:34
Hi eds do you think we would be able to sign gaston Ramirez without champions league football? Or will he only consider teams with it? I think him and Phillips would be perfect for us and de Jong would be the icing on the cake? Would it be possible? Cheers {Ed002's Note - Whilst Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool I remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. A move to Sevilla, Palermo or Juventus, who have made a firm offer, is also possible - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested. He was available in January for about 15M euro and his agent is looking for a signing on fee for the player as well.}

Signing these three players could not be refered to as a cake, it is more like a meat pie.

Although i'm sure many of you will disagree with me here, I believe we should invest in some young talent from lower leagues.
Spending millions on the likes of Downing and Henderson hasn't worked, where as spending smaller mounts on younger players in these leagues would be worth the risk. I mean, what would we have to lose. They could become stars.

Look our history and players like Rush, Barnes and many others who have come from lower leagues and are held in high regards to this day.

Players I think we should look at include:
Matt Phillips
Jordan Rhodes
Wilfred Zaha

And promoting the younger players to form a new era. The likes of:
Connor Coady
Raheem Sterling
Toni Silva
Suso
Andre Wisdom

Even if these arent regularly involved in the first team, they should at least be loaned out to prove their worth in the Championship or League 1. Perhaps some deals could done if we buy the likes of Rhodes, Phillips or Zaha for us to loan them replacements for a season. The likes of Adam Morgan and Michael Ngoo perhaps need another year.

Please share your thoughts
CSE9

Actually I do somewhat agree with this. However the players youve mentioned wouldnt come cheap. Matt Phillips and Zaha would both be at around the 10mil mark.

And we have picked off players from lower leagues such as Kelly, Sterling, Shelvey all of whom look to have a bright future.

If we were to go with that squad mate then it would not be long before they would all be playing in a lower league.

I agree that Jordan Rhodes should be signed and given a chance to fill the goalscorer void. Like it or not we have already spent big on Carroll and must persist with him. Rhodes could be come the great finisher we need.

Hugh Pugh.

Henderson does great in center mid not winger. he is a great talent im CM

I dont understand why the only players good enough for most of our fans need to cost a fortune, there are great players in our Reserves and on average teams in the PL and Championship and around the world. Find these players surround them with our quality players and i am sure they will do great . You cant defend your goal pass the ball to yourself and score the goal you need quality team mates to show your quality.

We didn't sign Kelly through a lower league team he came through our own youth system

Regarding the OP, what we need are better quality 1st team players not more kids / unproven players

We are looking more unlikely to qualify for CL, but in my opinion this is a good thing. at least it will give some of the reserves a chance to get promoted to the first team playing in the europa league. players like suso, sterling, coady and robinson can easily make the bench for the first team, all they need is a chance to prove they can do it at a higher level.

While our young players would get game time in the europa league, we would not be able to sign anyone brilliant for the first team which will just mean we are playing europa year after year.
the wise one

Heard that some of the reserve players think Kenny is very moody, which perhaps shows he is feeling the pressure and like the last time he managed Liverpool, may not feel confident enough to risk promoting inexperienced players.

If you think michael Ngoo will ever play first team football for liverpool then you have no clue about football.Shocking player if we go for players from lower leagues were screwed shocking post. The likes of barnes and rush those days are over scouting then isnt what it is now.We need to start signing top quality players!

Here is an article i read

Interesting stuff in The Sunday Mirror, who report that Arjen Robben is all set to come back to these shores.

Robben is apparently not having the best of times with Bayern Munich, having received much criticism for underperformance and whatnot.

And The Mirror has words from the man himself to back their theory up.

Sort of: "I don't have an ideal situation in Germany. I am now considering the options I have and I will get.

"I can try put up a brave face and make out all the things in Munich do not effect me, but of course it gets on my nerves and effects me. I just needed this game against England so much. It was a joy to be playing at my best again."

Apparently Robben only has a year left on his current contract, and could be available for a relative bargain £10million, a valuation that is 'sure to interest his former club Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.'

Why dont we have some interest he is a fantastic player and would be a bargain at 10 million
Do you know if we have any interest Ed?
Would be the perfect signing for me
Cheers Zincho {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

Hes a spud fan

No No No,not Robben!People seem to have a short memory!What about all the times he would sulk if the team wasnt playing well.How he would go missing in games if he had a decent defender against him etc.just trying to engineer a big 'last move' for security before retirement.Not committed enough to team..

04 Mar 2012 13:53:51
Hi Ed, Great site, what about Walcott coming to liverpool? (he's a liverpool fan) his contract is running out and why did Kenny take so long to put the subs on? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function for Walcott.}

Why would you want him he has no delivery and is much too weak not to mention his normally way ward shooting he will only add to this already too wasteful liverpool team

04 Mar 2012 12:39:10
Hi there, after watching the game yesterday I think it was clear to see what was the difference between us and arsenal.....a world class striker. I think if we are going to hit the top 4 we need a cavani or a soldado at whatever price. I wanted to add too that we play a lot better when we have a holding midfielder like lucas or spearing, who I thought had a great game yesterday. For me Adam is our worse player, we need an alonso. We miss his passing but also his ability to chip in and tackle. Questions for you eds, do you think the board will break the bank and go for a world class finisher to also help suarez and also have you heard any more news on the new ground and also anything about the new kit with warrior?

Tom from Birmingham {Ed002's Note - Soldado may possibly be an option but I don't think Cavani will be an option or affordable. There is no other news just yet.}

Soldado is a star player on a Champions League team. The only way he'd come to Liverpool is for stupid money, which we won't offer. Forget it. He's going to Madrid, Barca, the Milans, or Chelsea (or nowhere). He will not become a Liverpool player.

04 Mar 2012 11:02:47
There are so many players at Liverpool who are performing inconsistently.
I love having Daglish at the helm, but is there a chance that he is not getting the best out of the group. (much like Wenger and Arsenal)
He has Carroll, Henderson and Adam who were all good with their previous clubs.
Ed - Is there any chance that we will bring in a right winger in the summer. Downing continues to be played out of position when Bellamy comes on and it is hurting the team!
The problem is.......who would be quick enough to be brought in and have an impact in the prem for Liverpool?
Maybe someone that possesses the speed of Lennon or Walcott who are proven in the Prem?
They both could be unhappy with their current clubs come the new season!
{Ed002's Note - There is every chance of a winger arriving in the summer and there has been much discussion that there is interest in Matt Phillips.}

I'll have anybody a £50 bet that we will never ever get into the top 4 with daglish in charge.

Sean

What about Ibrahim Affelay? He's really quick and is very creative. {Ed002's Note - He has been suffering a very serious injury.}

How can we get back to top four in the table if our team keep buying 2nd class player(Matt Phillips)

Not sure about lennon, doesn't like the club and is settled and happy where he is, vastly improved from pecos seasons, he has just come back from an injury so thats why he hasn't been used for a full 90 mins, as for walcott, arsenal fans slate the player, calling him a goldfish? Yes hes an lfc fan but so very overrated!

I have to agree in some context with that post. i love kenny being in charge and so he should be, but our midfield yesterday was dire. adam at best is a squad player and shouldnt be starting, henderson goes missing thru games and doesnt add any creativity what so ever. we have to rely upon a strikers to be our wingers in kuyt and bellamy, which they do a good job. get gerrard and lucas fit again and buy a better centre mid and right winger to give the strikers that fianl ball.
max

Well with the state of the club last season how could we attract world class players. maybe in the summer because we are now in better stead. kenny has got rid of all of the garbage. hendo and carroll will come good. how many players played for a premiership team reularly at hendos age (at sunderland) and how many target men played so well at 21 like carroll. our team is better and has taken a step foreward. we are just a few players away from being in the top 3

Can I ask how we are in better stead? Sure the football is a 'little' bit better. However the difference is Daglish spent a 100m in the process doing it. We wasn't expecting world class players but for the money spent we could have got better. Carroll had 4 good months in the Prem, Hendo hardly set the world alight at Sunderland. Downing is 27 and can still barely get in the England side and Adam looks like a Sunday league player. No mate another overhaul is needed.

04 Mar 2012 10:50:08
Hi eds do you think there's any chance of Karl Henry joining? Would be good cover for Lucas? {Ed002's Note - I don't see him joining Liverpool, sorry.}

NO he wouldn't !!

We have Spearing who has done nothing wrong

Are you mad?! He's barely good enough for Wolves.

We have cover for Lucas, in fact will Lucas get in the side next season?

Yes. Yes he will.

Im sure will spend 20 million on him to get your man

Is that you Steve Morgan? Are you trying to get shot of your big earners in a fire sale before you get relegated?

04 Mar 2012 10:47:44
eds do you think liverpool could persuade robben 2 join? Read he could be available for only 10m. {Ed002's Note - I don't see that Liverpool would be interested in him and his preference would likely be for a move to Italy this summer. AC Milan have a long term interest in him and Palermo are looking at players of his ilk as part of their extensive rebuilding.}

04 Mar 2012 10:22:57
Glen Johnson, 27, on a list of full-back targets drawn up by Real Madrid.

I seem to remember that he didn't get on well with mourinho? Seems unlikely to me if mourinho stays...

It seems likely? If harry gets the england job? It does seem very likely jose will be at spurs?

It is a area that Real are short in with coentrao playing Rb for large parts of the season and Johnson is likely to leave so why not

If johnson is wanted by Real Madrid, let him go

Not going to happen if Mourinho stays in Madrid - more likely that Kyle Walker is a more viable option for them. Although that may mean that Spurs make a move for Johnson.

Great. so we're a feeder club for Real M AND chelsea now..

04 Mar 2012 09:42:23
ed any chance of james rodriguez in the summer and what sort of fee would he command CHEERS ed! {Ed002's Note - He has a reported 45M euros release clause and I really don't see him moving to Liverpool in the summer.}

04 Mar 2012 09:03:25
How does the whole relationship with Dalgleish and Comoli work, i,e did the manager say lets buy Carrol or did Comoli decide it all seemed a bit panic stricken {Ed002's Note - In simple terms, DC is the Director of Football and responsible for all of the scouting. KD will have the final say from a footballing standpoint if they wish to try and sign a player. If they do, a case will be made to the board for financial approval to proceed.}

It was Comoli that signed Carroll to keep the fans quiet over the loss of JUDAS to Chavski . Dalglish had nowt to with signing him

04 Mar 2012 08:19:20
2 summer signing MUST
1.striker
to get best out suarez
-forlan/cavani(same national team)
-huntelaar(play together for ajax)

2.right wing
-jesus navas
-ibrahim afellay

Forlan wouldn't be a decent signing. He has failedin the BPL in the past and is not upto the same level, where he was a year or two ago. Afellay would be great signing, thugh. YNWA

We should buy affelay RW and lukk de jong CF, finally buy gaston ramirez CAM to cover for captain fantastic.

Please stop drinking. It is clouding your judgement. None of these players would come to Liverpool
