i here we might be looking at dos santos what do you think?

Rodgers was at Swansea, possible star for Swansea.... Good enough to improve LFC?? Doubtful but I loved him at Barcelona and everybody loves a comeback

Finglas red

Hope not

godin to liverpool. carra is player coach next season. we are also tryin to sign johnson, cant agree on price, valuations between clubs 10 million £'s apart. you wont know my source but she has a relationship with a liverpool scout.
carlos

No interest in Adam Johnson, Dalglish did as he fancied English players but his bad attitude and poor training leave Rodgers UNINTERESTED

Finglas red

Liverpool F.C want Adam Johnson for £15 million'ish, from what i understand, which would roughly double the price City paid Middlesbrough (£7 million).

But City want more like £22 million+ (Downing money), as City rate AJ higher than Downing and because he's younger.

What johnson are you onna bout?
A.K

OP, quit telling us of your fantasy, mate. We know you have them every minute of the day.

Magic Johnson.

Carra will NOT be player coach next season lol

Well, you better tell your source that their scout is useless! LFC have had by far the worst success of the big four clubs when it comes to scouting and finding talent for good value.....absolutely useless!

Have we had any interest in Michel Bastos?

I remember us being linked last summer

RedSG

No high wages and over inflated price for a player 29 in August

What are the chances of Jackson Martínez? Looks like a quality player ... Like a young drogba. I know we have been linked , and 6 mill sounds like a steal

@ 100% Cotton.

The Ed's have been quite positive about Liverpool making a move for Boudebouz from what i've read, which in coincide's with Ryad's recent interview.

Unless the lad has moved to Lyon, PSG or someone else in the last 6 hrs. I still think Liverpool are in the hunt for him.

Luuk De Jong is being linked with some big teams in Germany and a few Italian clubs as well as Newcastle and Tottenham, so i think Liverpool have a chance, but it's not a firm one, it's depending on other clubs deciding on other players, especially the two German clubs Dortmund and Bayern.

If there's interest from big clubs in Germany y would we have chance with luuk de jong

We are favourites though

Just heard Steve Clarke is off to take up assistant manager job at Celtic. Awful pity that

Red Molloy

Good luck to Steve but I think he was at least partly responsible for our problems on the pitch last season, after all he was first team coach.

He did the same to me in FM2012 :-))

Mixed feelings if true. He has a good reputation, but reputation is not as important as results and the manager and coaching staff had four months to get the team back on the rails and couldn't...so probably not a great loss.

04 Jun 2012 21:42:28
eds is it true marvin martin could be available for 8m. {Ed002's Note - About that. Dortmund, Lille, Lorient and Anderlecht have enquired after Marvin Martin, but Valencia, Fenerbahce and Arsenal have been most serious in the pursuit of the Socheaux player. I suspect a move in the summer is very likely.}

Heard he was shown around training facilities at spurs in past few days

Martin will play for Lille next season (source : francefootball.fr)

Marvin martin went to Lille for 10 million

To be fair Liverpool only need 3/4 players;
Gaston Ramirez
Gylfi Siggurdsson
Ryad Boudebouz
Roberto Soldado

max combined cost would be £50 esp. bcause of Soldado. But think Torres nor Suarez came relatively cheap to us?

3 attack minded midfielders? Nah i think we only need one of those, I'd take gylffi out of the lot because of his value for money. Soldado would be a great goal poacher but he is fairly hot-headed so it might be a minor risk.

I would defo take those players for £50 lol - absolute bargain!

I don't think soldado or any other 20 million plus striker will be bought as long as we have carroll. i would expect a lower costing one who can also play as a winger maybe. i think luuk de jong will be great value for money provided his cost stays at 13 or so million.

£50 I'm impressed lol :p

Lol i meant £50 mil

Terrible choices there

A Swansea ITK on another site has said that Joe Allen has handed in a transfer request. Now if it's true and other clubs bid for him, I can't see the clause in Rodgers' contract about approaching their players precluding us from making a bid. I'm sure it's only in place to prevent us unsettling their players by making bids for them when there's no other interest in them. The Swansea chairman Junkins is a good businessman, so if one of their star players was off to another club, he wouldn't cut his nose off to spite his face and not accept a higher bid from us.

Sean

What would be the point in Joe Allen ? just swapping one midget (spearing) out to bring another Midget in !

Joe Allen is ten times the player Spearing is, what has height got to do with it?

As for the 12 month agreement, it does not apply if another club puts a bid in for a Swansea player he is then fair game.

If you don't see that Joe Allen has a lot of talent then you don't watch football.

BthekingB

I've seen allen develop over the last couple of years, and u are wrong, it would be swapping one midget for a far superior one

You do realise that Allen had a higher pass completion rate than xavi last season right? Just checking

It was Leon Britton that had a higher pass rate than Xavi. Allen's was impressive too though

I live in swansea and have been a liverpool fan since1964 when we won at anfield in the cup.believe me joe allen would do a great job for us especially the way brendan wants os to play

Pass rate was good but was always backwards, god no i hope this ain't true..

Any truth on this fellaini rumour ?

Curious myself mate, can't see him leaving them for us as other clubs ewould come in and he would take them over us due to ... I can't say their name.
Bazzaa

No thanks, have never understood the hype round affro man. as usual well overrated

Hopefully not he is so overrated. he is just a bully with a little bit of skill.
derryred

Fellaini is a top player, what are u guys on about? He is a gun!

I'm hoping not. Massively overrated with truly awful hair!

Sjb76

Would walk into LFC midfield ! {Ed001's Note - only because his elbows would injure all competitors in training. He offers nothing we need. He is not suited to the style we intend to play.}

No not at all

Hi Eds Whats your opinion on Joe Cole,Alberto Aquilani and Charlie Adam, Could they all leave or all stay?? what's everyone elses opinion

Cheers

Dano {Ed002's Note - Try the search function. It is a regular question.}

Have a feeling aquilani could say with us next season, playing regular might help him settle, if not and he plays well it will at least push his price back up

Sell Cole, sell Aquilani, Do Liverpool have a player called Charlie Adam?!

Charlie to blackpool

Sell cole sell aquilani and keep adam for a season.
derryred

Then ed just copy and paste the answer to the guy who took the time to ask the question {Ed001's Note - why? So we have to search and find the answer, then copy it and then paste it because someone is too lazy to look themselves? We have enough to do.}

I hope adam stays, i personally think he was better than alot of the other players this season(spearing,henderson,caroll,downing)
and i may be wrong here but im sure he had 11 assisits this season? which aint bad considering he was injured for a long period

I reckon Cole will stay.. they others will be sold.. Aqua man not interested and Adam not good enough..

Do Liverpool have a player called Charlie Adam! What kind of a question is that call yourself a supporter. Honestly why are you even on this site.

Chas surplus to requierment

Joe maybe under BR new system

Aqua who knows ,still think he could come good for us ,but his attitude sucks ,
Brendan gets him onboard great ,if hes not interested get the cash and move on

Charlie Adam will stay. However Aqua will go. Not sure about Joe Cole

I think that this summer rodgers will want a massive clear out, but the good thing with him is that he spends his money wisely and doesn't waste it on one big money signing, maybe possible ins and outs this summer:

outs:

Doni
maxi
adam
spearing

Ins:

J. Butland (Birmingham)
K. Papadopoulos (Schalke)
M'Vila (Rennes)
C. Dempsey (Fulham)
G. Sigurdsson (Hoffenheim)
I. Afellay (Barcelona)
L. De Jong (Twente)

Do you think all of these are possible or realistic eds?
Harry in Southport {Ed002's Note - Some are certainly possible.}

I think that rodgers will keep doni for one more season (maybe jones going out instead?) because he is quite good and confident on the ball. I agree with spearing and maybe adam but would like to keep maxi for one more season if possible. M'vila seems very unlikely (more likely to go to arsenal i thin). I like dempsey but don't think he would be brought in due to his age. I don't know about Butland or papadopoulos but would certainly like sigurdsson and de jong to come to LFC. I think afellay is worth it if up to £6M is spent on him.

No Dempsey or sigardson
Munian and Ramirez in stead

Didnt M'Vila get injured playing for france a couple of days ago?

Butland isn't LFC standard, he's drafted into England squad cause top keepers refuse England so suddenly he's a hot commodity?? No way LFC buy him

Finglas red

M'vila's arsenal bound though right?

Butland is still young and he will improve a lot. We should buy him and put him on loan to improve

Papadopoulos is the best defender in the world for his age. If we bought him we could lose one of Agger or Skrtel no problem.

A massive clear-out is defiantly more than 4 players

04 Jun 2012 20:01:01
how can chelsea confirm the signing of hazard if the window isnt open until july 1st {Ed002's Note - THey have not. They have confirmed that agreement has now been reached for him to join - after July 1.}

What a silly question, sorry to say!
Bazzaa

So why are sky sports showing him holding up a chelski shirt? {Ed001's Note - because a deal has been agreed for him to join on July 1st, is it really so difficult to understand?}

Window opens 1st of June now doesn't it? Players just don't join up till july. Or is that just a footy man thing?. {Ed001's Note - international window opens July 1st, so you can't move from France to England until then.}

04 Jun 2012 20:00:06
Rodgers will sign 4players that will give him a great chance of Champions league football:
Ryad Boudebouz - FC Sochaux £10million
Luuk De Jong - FC Twente - 12million
Gaston Ramirez - Bologna - 18million
Gylfi Sigurdsson - Hoffenheim - 6.8million

In Rodgers we trust!
LFC 4 LIFE

I would be delighted with that especially Ramirez

Rodgers is in charge now...why do people assume he will target all the players the club were targeting before he was appointed. sigurdsson is the only player out of that 4 we know he would be interested in for sure

My dream but realistic 4

Why Ramirez and Sigurdsson (excuse spelling) what about Gerrard and Lucas?? Are they suddenly surplus to requirements and not gonna play??

Finglas red

We don't have the funds so complete garbage!

Arnt you forgetting clint dempsey, hes quality

That four would be amazin and givin the current prices people pay for players they are all relativley cheap and excellent players/prospects.

04 Jun 2012 19:59:00
any chance of signing ronaldinho? apparntly he terminated his contract with brazilian club over unpaid wages, he would be a great addition in our new style of play? {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

He signed for athelitico minerio today,so i guess ,no.

Shame...he would have made a good drinking partner for Carroll :)

Gav

However, if they are the targets you are interested in then Pele might be interested. Muppet.

He is old and sh*te. Gave the ball away in a game recently and was boo'ed by his own fans!!

04 Jun 2012 19:58:30
Rodgers should try and sign Junior Hoillet. Was excellent last season in a struggling side and can play on the right, left or off the front. Would be a great addition for free

Catch up son hes gone to germany!

No such thing as 'free'.

Hoilette wouldn't be free for any premier league team - if a player under 23 moves at the end of the contract, the old club is entitled to compensation (as long as the old club offered the player a contract)

liverpool lawyer

In fact, the compensation fee applies for all clubs

Liverpool lawyer

He has not gone to Germany but its an option

Hi ed.can u plz tell the current situation with ryad boudebouz liverpool where instrested in him.could be great addition to the squad.he is an excellent winger.n also also rasmus elm i think he could be our next xabi alonso.there were interest in both the player but now it seem to have dried up. arsh-redindian {Ed002's Note - Ryad Boudebouz will leave Sochaux with Real Betis and Lyon showing an interest. Way back in the day interest was shown by PSG, Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. Lyon would seem to be the most likely destination right now although he is one of the two players that I explained that Liverpool have recently asked to be kept informed of.}

Who is the other player liverpool have asked to be kept informed on ed? {Ed002's Note - Rasmus Elm.}

Ed who is the other player lfc have asked to be kept informed about

Midland RED {Ed001's Note - he already answered, Elm.}

04 Jun 2012 18:57:27
Ed, any interest in marvin martin?

thanks
Red T {Ed002's Note - Dortmund, Lille, Lorient and Anderlecht have enquired after Marvin Martin, but Valencia, Fenerbahce and Arsenal have been most serious in the pursuit of the Socheaux player. I suspect a move in the summer is very likely.}

04 Jun 2012 19:36:06
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys but I've heard from a very good source that gylfi siggurdsson is a united fan and would never consider joining Liverpool as a result.

Wouldnt be twitter would it? A professional football will not make a decision like that, If he wants to play at the highest level.

Playing and supporting are totally different things.He will come of BR wants him in my opinion.

Didn't some people suggest the same notion about Charlie Adam Last season.If he doesn't want to play for Liverpool for whatever reason,I wouldn't want him anyway.

Doesn't mean anything, John O'Shea is a Liverpool fan.

Phill. {Ed016's Note - Carra was born a blue, Michael Owen is a jockey yet he played for Liverpool}

Not gonna lose sleep over it, so don't worry too much

John oshea supported liverpool all his life and still does,does not matter to an ambitious player.

U mean u r a united fan and cant bear us getting a great player at such a cheap price

Don't talk nonsense lad if he is a fan of brendan he would come do you seriously think players only play for the teams they support if you think that your deluded lol if that was the case carragher would play for everton they play for the money or personnel or because they think they can do well at the club

There are liverpool fans that play for united and united fans that play for liverpool. given the chance they sign for the teams they want. but that is not always the case. if we offer gylfi a chance in the big leagues and united don't chances are he would take his chances especially with rodgers that would help. im not saying we want him or not but purely facts. and at 22 if united dont want him now theres a fair chance they may never want him. they are more interested in youth like us. JLFC

Charlie Adam's a United fan; Jamie Carragher and Michael Owen are/were Everton fans... I think when the contracts are down, it's rare such allegiances come into play.

DP

Don't be an idiot, few or no professional footballers would turn down a move because of who they support.

Walcott is also a Liv fan :)

What a idiot, i support Liverpool but would play Utd ( i was crap tho) . And so would anyone play for a gigantic club like Liverpool no matter who they support.

Gylfi sigurdson is not a man u fan he was born in Hafnarfjörður iceland and grew up supporting UBK Kopavogur and also played for them as a youth. i know this as there is an interview with him on the swansea player profiles and he says this in his interview when explaining his footballing background. now thats sorted hayyy!!

King Kenny, massive Glasgow Rangers fan, enough said..

Why is he thinking United gonna come in for him?. What a load of crap. By the way apparently Michael Owen loved LFC with all his heart!!

Thats rubbish im a united fan and if i had a chance of signing for liverpool i wouldn think twice about it !

You mean gilfyi the reading fan, who promised that he would return later in his career upon leaving his boyhood club for Germany in the first place?

Rio ferdinand is a lfc fan......he's playing for man utd

Rio ferdinand is was an LFC fan as a kid.

Ronnie whealan spent his summer holidays training with utd the team he loved but signed for bob paisley instead cant blame him really utd were awful back then.

Means nothin if it is true, There are pictures of gerrard when he was a kid in an Everton kit. If that was the case there would be hardly any transfers, wake up and smell the coffee! TheBigMan YNWA

Didnt stop michael owen going to man utd did it

We are all worse including myself for even replying to such a comment!!

04 Jun 2012 19:08:42
to edds/macca
i have looked on the search function and couldnt find a definate answer about suseata and munian. without sounding rude could you please tell me in your view will either of them be coming to liverpool? can you answer by saying if you know of interest and if so what would the stumbling blocks be with these players. cheers and great site better then bulls**t caught offside lol. {Ed001's Note - I don't expect either to join, it is very difficult to attract players from Bilbao, they are at the team they support for one. For two, Bilbao have no need to sell, unless they don't want a player. For three, both players have a lot of interest from teams in the Champions League and willing to pay them more money than we would. Still, you never know, a lot of the Spanish do have a soft spot for Liverpool, it might turn out those 2 have! Plus Rodgers can speak Spanish, which has to be a plus. I would say they are unlikely, but certainly not impossible, especially as Muniain has had a few off field issues which led to him being offered for sale in January.}

Thanks, very helpful :D

04 Jun 2012 18:38:24
Apparently Rodgers want Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross

Your now taking the piss big style. Give it up pal.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

I know someone in the Anfield ticket office, rumour going round before he got fired was that King Kenny wanted Shawcross, but that has cooled as Rogers wants centre halfs who can play football, which good news for us as Shawcross has the first touch of a mass murderer...

I don't think he will step foot near any Stoke City player. You do know what kind of football he likes to play right?

BthekingB

Nothing is apparent about that statement!

Go for Kjaer instead.

Why the hell would he want that donkey?

Would be a great signing

People forget, shawcross is a massive manchester united fan. Even has a tattoo.

04 Jun 2012 18:36:03
Eds do you think there is still a chance of signing Soldado now under Rodgers ?
Josh {Ed001's Note - nothing will have changed, if anything Rodgers increases our chances.}

Why do you think that ed? is it because he speaks spanish? {Ed001's Note - yes and the style of play Rodgers favours is very similar to the Spanish national team, so increasing his chances of getting a regular place.}

Hey ed, how will rodgers increase our chances of getting soldado?.......RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - I don't see it would make any difference.}

Kinda like C Adams did for blackpool. I think it will be him and Lucas in MID and more attacking player with them unless Rodgers gets lots of money to spend. It think he will look for a right winger/Att mid and striker and maybe a player who can cover across ck

Yes, I hope soldado joins, he is my fav player :).

I think Rodgers would love to get Munian he is made for this system as is Suarez both are brilliant at pressing high up the pitch

04 Jun 2012 18:31:28
I've been reading about Rodger's 'Tika-Taka' style, in particular the Barcelona-esque way in which the CBs split, leaving the CDM to drop deep, get the ball and start attacks from there. This led me to thinking, despite Lucas' fantastic defensive ability, does he really have the passing range to boss this defensive-playmaker role? A player i feel would be perfect is Javi Martinez, so a) is he someone our scouts are likely to recommend to Rodgers and b) is there any possibility of getting him if so, even if it requires breaking the bank?

Also, are we still wanting to sell Glen Johnson?

Thanks Eds {Ed001's Note - the issue is whether he would want to leave Bilbao, he would take a lot of persuading. It would just require paying his buy out clause + taxes. I believe Johnson is still available for transfer, yes.}

If rodgers brings in tiki taka then I dont see a role for carroll....no more pepe punts up field for him to hold and their is better players on the market to suit it. FSG would never sell him for a massive loss so he will be on the bench.....and before I get slated ...yes carroll has showed some form in the latter of the season but surely we would get a more technical striker to suit that style of play?

Lucas does actually have very decent passing ability, also he wouldn't be required to make the so called killer passes. Do you ever see busquets make a brilliant pass?

His main job would be to protect the defensive line and move the ball on to the more creative midfielders in front of him.

Lucas was an attacking mid before we turned him into a def mid , the idea is he plays short passes and dictates the tempo, he's ideal for the role

I would say lucas in probably the best passer of the ball in the squad

Why would jonson be for sale eds rogers said the other day we have one of the best right backs around. unless obviously stupid bid comes in and he wants to go i no he has said he wouldnt mind playin abroad one day in the past {Ed001's Note - because he is on huge wages and isn't that good, certainly far from one of the best right backs around.}

Lets be honest Lucas has even outpassed Gerald in the last 2 seasons. That alone mate says his good is he. If Lucas was fit we have a fighting chance against ANY team, let me be bold and say we may even be able to give Barca and Real a run for their money with him in the squad. Thats his much important he is....

Lucas start play for gremio(i think) as attacking midfielder, early year of him at liverpool u can see he play more attacking n i still remember by now that he assist gerrard

Lucas is one of our best passes .. he has also has fantastic stats as a passer in the opponents half ... seems like some people are lost when it comes to football ... btw who is Gerald ? Lol

Johnson ain't bad mate av to disagree with U there eds he's good as there is I'm the prem IMO would like to see him playing as a winger if I'm honest though but no manager has tried it although we have had crap wingers for years! could of saved us a few bob! Any way we have Kelly I he does leave and I believe he is a proper prospect in the making at right back or centre back ! What u think ? {Ed001's Note - I think Kelly is a much better player, though a little on the fragile side. Johnson has ability, but his concentration levels are appalling and so he fails miserably to make the most of his ability. He is regularly caught out ballwatching, both defensively and when he should be making a run forward. I think that is why he played better on the left, because it forced him to think about what he was doing at all times, with it being unfamiliar.}

Lucas would get support in that position from gerrard as BR teams play in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

04 Jun 2012 18:20:47
@GuillemBalague: The intetest for Beguiristain from LFC has cooled down drastically. At the moment, it looks like he won't help Brendan next season

Please dont let this be true!..Ed001 do you have any info on this please?I really wanted Beguiristine to join us. {Ed001's Note - I am trying to find out mate, I haven't heard anything on the move for him for ages.}

O.K Ed001 cheer's mate...Soon as you hear let us know please. {Ed001's Note - I will mate.}

04 Jun 2012 18:08:43
Ed any intrest in Jordy Clasie from us an do you rate him? {Ed001's Note - Rodgers wanted him at Swansea, but I know of no interest prior to his arrival. I am not sure, he does seem like he has the ability, but the opposition I have seen him face was very poor, so I would like to see more before judging him.}

Rodgers will still be after this lad,the only stumbling block was his strength on the ball,other than that,he shows all the signs of a classic Dutch midfield maestro.

04 Jun 2012 16:27:14
Hi Ed(s),

Do you think Liverpool are interested in Esteban Granero?

I never thought it possible because, although Mourinho doesn't play him much, he still wants to keep him around..

But, seeing as though Mourinho and Rodgers are 'pals', I keep telling myself that it's more than possible?

Cheers,

Stone YNWA. {Ed001's Note - I am not so sure he would want the move. It certainly won't hold any water with him who is Jose's mate!}

Could be a make weight in a Louis or Johnson deal!!

I can't see how he could turn it down? The weather?

He would flourish playing for LFC, in the style that Rodgers will implement. Also, he'd settle in well with the Spanish contingent at the club..

Stone YNWA.

04 Jun 2012 17:37:55
Hi eds I am just wandering do we still hold a interest in isla of Udinese?

Mighty reds {Ed001's Note - impossible to say, he has been out injured for a while so we haven't been able to scout him.}

Him and Kwadwo Asamoah both look to be Juventus bound.

04 Jun 2012 16:34:02
Hi all I'm just wondering is there any word on us looking at junior hooliet he is young fast skilful and would be a great complement to te squad. Thanks.

Hes gone to monchengladback {Ed001's Note - I thought that had been rubbished?}

Hoillett has agreed a move to B.Monchengladbach I believe

Looks like we miss the boat on this lad :( {Ed002's Note - Or more specifically never showed any interest in the player. Borussia Monchengladbach were always favourites if North London was not a desired destination.}

This is a no brainer for me on a free ! fast tricky causes havoc for opposition and young so Brendan can get hold of him and mould him to suit hopefully the boy would be up for the move

Waste of talent why would he go there sure the whole prem would have him bar utd city and chavski maybe

04 Jun 2012 16:19:05
Please Post

i think we should now look at offloading some players and bringing in new faces

SELL
Doni
Spearing
Adam
Aquaman
Carragher
Maxi

BUY
Walcott
Gordon (GK)
Luuk De Jong
Gastón Ramírez
Dempsey
And DEFOE

your opinions Guys

Liverpool brought in adams and doni only last year no one will want carragher and spearing is shocking

I agree maybe give aqua a bit of time under Rodgers and If he still doesn't like playing for us then sell him in janruary.
But definitely agree with the rest {Ed016's Note - He's not going to want to play for us}

I agree with them all part from carra u can't sell him not after all he has done for the club and don't like wallcott all he seems to have is speed

3 out of six maybe, but why the hell do you want walcott,gordon, or defoe ???????? {Ed016's Note - and dempsey}

Crazy selection!
Sell Carra are you mad?! I'd personally loan spearing, I still rate him.
Walcott the most over rated player in the prem. A winger who can't cross or much else than run pretty fast.
Dempsey and Defoe have only got a season left in themselves.

Not walcott and Defoe.

Mighty reds

Walcott??? someone that cannot play football but is fast ? why not go all out and buy usain bolt for the right!!!

Doni - Good reserve why offload?
Spearing - Agree to offload
Adam - Might well fit in with BR style of play. 2nd season he may well step up.
Aquilani - Shame, as he is talented and I would love to see him settle
Carragher - will take a less active role in the 1st squad and get a coaching role with youth team. He has been an exemplary figure and his knowledge of the game is too valuable to waste and he will be a future LFC Manager.
Maxi - Good reserve player unless we can find someone better

Walcott - Not nearly good enough
Gordon - Too injury prone
De Jong - Would be a good replacement for Kurt
Ramirez - Would compliment Suarez and an alternative to Lucas
Defoe - can't even get in the spurs squad why would he be good enough for us

I think that we should never get rid of caragher, hes quality, think of the stuff hes done for the club, ok hes getting on a bit but hes still an all time great.
i also think that we should give aquaman and adam another chance because adam started wel then he was injured so i think thats a bit unfair and aquaman can bring some amazing chances with his skill

Clasie/Allen
Ramirez
Martinez

I'd be happy

Disgraceful why would you sell Carragher.
And Defoe come on?

Buy
Adam Johnson
Didier Drogba
Gylfi Siggurdson
Joe Allen
Craig Gordon

Aquilani has not even made the Italy squad for the Euro 2012. He is a waste. Juvenyus did not want him and now AC Milan will only take him if they can have him for free. That has to tell you something about Aquilani. Nobody wants the player.

I highly doubt his future is at Liverpool either. Again his injuries have come to for. Get rid and do it now even if it means we have to pay out his current contract. Why we ever let Xabi Alonso go- in order to sign a injury prone Italian for mil is still beyond me. Surely there were other players available at the time at 20mil who actually were willing to play for the red shirt. GET RID!!

To sell carragher?!

Our season collapsed after Adam got injured....he should stay!....Walcott? You having a laugh....if were catholic and in church he'd stuggle to cross!!

Gaston Ramirez as an 'alternative to Lucas'? Seriously? Gaston is more of an attacking midfielder than anyone

You're obviously not a Liverpool fan in fact I question wether your even a football fan.

If we're keeping players on what they did in the past can we sign Hansen again. Carraghers done nothing for years and young players aren't being allowed to come through because of his ego. His reputation far exceed his skills and if he wasn't scouse he'd be playing for Hull. H

We wouldn't sell carragher!...why in the name of god would you even want Walcott?

Can't let Carra go, he will be on coaching staff and still a good backup.
The rest can go, so all good there.
You have realistic targets, I WOULD take Walcott and at last play him as a striker!
Bazzaa

No our season collapsed when Lucas got injured

Apart from being sent off, what has Doni ever done. Keep him, Pepe needs a push.

What a pile of trashy players DEFOE?? WALCOTT??. I would never mention them 2 again and leave it at that if i were you mate

Sell carragher you cannot be a Liverpool supporter. Maybe coaching after another season as help for Martin Kelly and seb Coates.

Our season did not collapse when Lucas got injured.Yes we missed him a bit but he only had one outstanding game (Man C) and it was only the last quarter of the season things went really bad, after we lost to Arsenal and 4th spot became impossible.
If Lucas returns at his best he will be a useful asset.We shall have to wait and see.

Carragher would never be sold

Take off Dempsey Walcott and Defoe and put on Munian and that's first class

You can't sell carra mate, it would be like selling the liverbird:)

Why sell carragher ? also i'd keep maxi if walcott was the replacement being bought. he is one of the most overrated wingers in football after nani of course. and christ forbid why buy defoe ?

Kuyt had a release clause in his contract saying he could join a team outside of England for 1m.

More like a promise that he'd be sold at a low price to any team that came in for him that he wanted to go to

No he didnt! he had a verbal agrement that liverpool wouldnt stand in his way if he wasnt in there first team plans which after whats he has done for our club is a no brainer. nothing in writing saying 1m.

Unlikely tbh

PDUK

It's true, his agent confirmed it

Hi all,
Just was on the web browsing to see if I could see any background into my story and fell across your site. I'm a Swansea fan
And work in an estate agents in wales, and last Thursday we had jay spearing call our office inquiring, about posh pads either for sale or rent in Swansea area. He was e mailed a list of all possible pads and said he would be in touch. Make of it Wat u will?
John strong

It doesn't matter what we make of it, it is more what your boss will make, with you releasing private client information and all.
Still a valuable lesson for your next job know doubt.
Or i suppose it could just be bollox

I think it would be a very good destination for him and hopefully he does well.

Haha no, if anything it would be his agent or swansea doing this for him

Think we all wish that was true

Hopefully it is true,he is an awful player but Kenny played him!! why???

The amount of people who make up b*llsh*t stories to make up rumours is beyond me please go away

I smell bulls**t

04 Jun 2012 15:19:22
jay spearing to wigan on loan

Don't believe that utter rubbish. Spearing will say put

I don't see the point of loaning Spearing out, he's going to be 24 before the next January transfer window.

If he's not seen as good enough, then sell him and let the guy get on with his career.

''But if we loan him out and he does well, he may double in value before we do eventually sell him.''

My response to that would be an angry one, just look at what has happened to Aquilani's value, and he plays in the National team sometimes. Although he's missed out on the Euro's, he did score the winner against Spain and still we can't get £5 million for him.

What do you expect we'd eventually get for Spearing? Let the fellow go.

Dictaphoney

Take out the last two words

If that was happening Dave Whelan would have told the world about it by now ....

Hopefully we get a few new signings and offload a few current players with us. BR has already said he would ideally like to loan some players to Swansea, so that could be a good opportunity for some of the younger players to gain some needed experience in the Prem.

In:
Sigurdsson- 7 Million
Dempsey - 5-6 Million

Out:
Spearing- Loan
Coady - Loan
Morgan - Loan
Maxi - 1-2 Million

And also if Ian Holloway becomes Swansea manager could Charlie Adam link up again with him?

Thanks.

And sell fabio aurelio

I've got to agree

Wow loooong time ago someone wrote so many names and it was all correct/possible
NICE

IraqKop

Sell aurelio he's all ready signed for gremio we released him 2 week's ago

Can you post a link to say where he said about loaning players (not saying he didn't i just want to read it)

Agree but if any of our players were to go to swansea on loan it would be either shelvey, adorjan or suso

And sterling, suso!!

Ma dempsy is old leave him keep maxi, good sub

Hi eds, is it true we're interested un Kuba from Dortmund? if yes, which is the prob of landing him?
Source: {Ed002's Note - There is no interest I am aware of.}

04 Jun 2012 13:54:51
Are Liverpool going to be looking at any of Jovetic (fiorentina), Ramirez (Bologna), Affelay (Barcelona), Sigurdsson (Hoffenheim), Hoillett (Blackburn)? Also do you think there's much chance of Aquilani being at Anfield next year?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

To summarise - maybe, doubtful, yes (if the move to Swansea falls through), no and probably not.

There is not much chance of Aqua being at Anfield next year. However Siggurdson and Affelay may be options

04 Jun 2012 13:50:01
Reports claiming Dries Mertens will be bort in to add some creativity to the Liverpool team this summer. Any truth eds?
Plz post {Ed002's Note - I don't see Mertens moving to LIverpool - if he moves I suspect it may well be to Bayern Munich although there is interest from Italy.}

Surely after what he did to Cahill we don't want more controversy

He would be a good signing would cost around 15 mill do cause they only signed him last summer for 10 mill-theres no reason it couldn happen-THE POPE {Ed016's Note - It's very unlikely}

Just thinking there eds were would a team like psv be able to pay 10 mill for him -THE POPE {Ed002's Note - He already plays for PSV - I don't understand the question.}

04 Jun 2012 13:48:39
Hi Eds,

There is 12months where we cant sign a swansea player right?

What about loaning them in the mean time?

Loophole? {Ed002's Note - It won't happen.}

Oh my god i'm sick of hearing about Swansea players. If you want them so bad, just go and buy a shirt and start supporting them!!

Is that the height of your ambition? To look to Swansea for players, after an over-achieving mid-table finish.

Thank you ed

Now everyone STOP linking us with Joe Allen.

I agree,why does everyone want swansea players,they finished below us

Ok, why would we even want any of Swansea players. Sigurdsson is the only player in their team worth buying (for a club as big as Liverpool, ofcourse) and as far as I'm concerned, he isn't even a Swansea player (yet).
JackD

04 Jun 2012 13:44:51
I'd say we sould focus on these players:
Afellay
Sigurdsson
Erikssen
+filling positions if sb leaves

if we sing these 3 players in summer it would be really perfect.

cheers

Afellay is too injury prone, Erikssen does not want to come to the Prem. Sigurdsson is a possibility though.

I'll sing their names to you if it makes you fell good? Big Mike

Sign them first, then we can sing about them!

If only Big Mike checked his own spelling mistake before sending that post haha

I was thinking those three players myself with either Guidetti or De Jong as well.

Eriksen aint gonna happen!!!!

04 Jun 2012 13:38:42
Liverpool should make moves for Affellay, Adam Johnson, James Rodriguez, Sigurdsson, Muniain and Gaston Ramirez.

Forwards: Soldado, Lavezzi, Giroud

Thanks

Kam

No 2 Affelay, he's quite clearly crocked 4 life.

Lavezzi is going to PSG!
JackD

If we got 3 of them I would be happy.
Bazzaa

I wish this was to become true, but sadly for us they'd want CL. Maybe 1 or 2 could be talked into joining, which would be ace wouldn't it. I think it's Liverpool's turn to buy smart like Newcastle have

gary hooper is the man to solve our lack of goals,young english proven and would be cheap,51 goals in 2 seasons 50 coming inside the 18 yard box.the type of player to get us back in the champions league,turn draws into wins!
kinderfish

In the spl :L not really prem standard

Tell that to Everton and Jelavic. I am a Celtic and Liverpool fan. I know that the SPL isn't the best league but a goal scorer is a goal scorer.

Exactly dnt think we played as bad as our league postion stated last season we just could not finish our chances,we are not going to sighn world class goal scorers at the moment,we got to be realistic.gary hooper is well worth the gamble on even as a player to bring off the bench,he got the nack of being in the rite place at the rite time

I suppose i cant argue that jelavic has done well. im wrong in that sence although tell the truth here if you could have 10 realistic targets for playing striker for liverpool next year would hooper be one of them let alone top?

Well to say he is proven is a bit optimistic. in the scottish league he has more time to pick his spot with the ball and has more time on it in general.

A number of players to be following Kuyt out of Anfield this summer in Rodger's clear our are set to be Maxi Rodriguez, Jay Spearing, Glen Johnson. The board will consult Rodger's if an expected bid comes in for Suarez, who could also be on his way out of Anfield.

RedHawk

If that is the case then i hope Joe Cole is on the same boat and i don't think Aquilani will stay despite my fondness of him. we'd need to replace them though.

RB; Gregory van der Wiel replacing Johnson(Although i don't think Glen will leave).

FWD/Winger; Iker Muniain or Clint
Dempsey replacing Dirk Kuyt

Winger; Eljero Elia replacing Maxi

AM; Gylfi Sigurdsson replacing Alberto Aquilani

DM; Jordy Claise replacing jay spearing

AM/FWD/Winger; Giovani dos Santos to provide some cover and add depth, also replacing Joe Cole.

04 Jun 2012 13:26:11
All the best to Dirk Kuyt in his future endeavours. Fenerbahce for turkish league champions next season.
Dempsey wud be a good replacement for kuyt. Can score goals regularly n wud not cost more than 8 million.

hi eds just a question with this fair play and how much you are allowed to spend !dint a certain mr lee frog plantaini warn chelsea and man city about threre spending this summer?if so what there spending on two players is mre than that so i persume sactions come to play|or will it be swept away as norma!!! {Ed002's Note - I would not worry about the FFP rules just yet. I am not sure of Manchester City's plans but Chelsea will spend a great deal this summer to refresh their aging squad.}

Eds do you agree if they police the ffp rules as they say they are going to surely it would just push through a european super league format where the big spenders just ignore them {Ed002's Note - Without going in to too much detail: (a) A number of clubs take the opportunity a once or twice a year to discuss various issues including changes in rules, television rights, the power of UEFA, exploitation issues for new technology streams, etc.. These discussions, the last of which were on August 25 last year and the next will again be in August, also always turn to the possibility and structure of a breakaway pan European league. Several are ex-G14 clubs, several are not, and some clubs decline involvement in such discussions. (b) The plan is that at some point a number of clubs would break away from their national leagues and UEFA. They accept that they would be banned from all existing club competition and the players would initially be banned from all FIFA competitions as well, but know that FIFA would be looking to negotiate in any case. It would be the end of UEFA in all probability and UEFA are very aware of this. It would also result in a restructuring of many of the national leagues. (c) The clubs would renegotiate their television rights, rights of distribution via other streams etc.. (d) It remains the greatest fear of UEFA and all major national authorities that one day this will happen.}

As i said then ed if the ffp rules are policed too harshly surely we would see the resulting split therefore the ffp rules are toothless and never gonna be enforced

04 Jun 2012 13:17:54
hi eds,

do you think BR would be interested in nuri sahin {Ed002's Note - There is no way to tell what his thoughts are but Liverpool seems an unlikely destination. Sahin has had injury problems this year but rumours do persist about his long term future. If he were to leave I would very much suspect a move to Italy (possibly with AC Milan) or a return to Germany (with Bayern Munich) would come before any thoughts of a move to England. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan and Galatasaray would like to take him to Turkey.}

04 Jun 2012 13:13:16
I think Jamie Carragher should be released this summer .

There are clubs like Norwich & Reading in the Premer League that might benefit from him and even Wolves , Blackburn & Bolton in the Championship could take him for a few years .

We have Skrtel , Agger , Coates and Kelly to play ahead of Carragher now , because Carragher is simply not good enough for the LFC 1st team anymore - get rid and rebuild bigtime !

EdWood

No way will carra leave liverpool you are talking out of your bum

Then who will the young players learn from? Since agger and skrtel aren't senior enough yet to teach them. Nor do they have the time. Carragher will be our manager at some point.

The will not leave liverpool NOR SHOULD HE, once he does step down from cover role then he should simply go straight into coaching role starting off with kids under 18-19 or the reserves... He is definitely a coach for the future no doubt, when he isn't playing / traing he is studying all football, he knows more than anyone about the game at liverpool now therefore should never be allowed to leave he is also a great role model for the youth coming through the ranks!!

I wouldn't get rid of Carragher I would keep him on as some form of defensive coach. Unless the new manager doesn't want that of course.

He is at the very end of his career and has been a brilliant player and given his utmost for the club. If other players had his desire and commitment then LFC would be in a much better position.

Gaz1975.

He should go into a player/coach role. He'd be useful in the worst of all injury crisis

Sad but very true bye bye

He may be old but he he may still do a job if needed! You also have to factor in his other abilities such as leadership and commitment and also the fact he can help teach players such as Kelly and Coates! His experience is in valuable!

R u mad? yes hes back up but hes mr liverpool offer him part times coaching role

Its not just his playing ability you have to take into consideration, its his leadership and experience, if i was a young defender learning my trade carra is someone i would look to, for this he can be invaluable

Cant quite believe you just said that edwood!

billynwa

I think it is time for a new start throughout , the boot room philosophy is not required anymore . Let him go somewhere else and prove his coaching abilities before we start to employ them .

There is simply no need to keep him around , in my opinion .

EdWood

Your a disgrace saying that to a club legend like Carra

So we should get rid of gerrard too, he's hit by injuries and it's been bothering him for years! He would never want to leave not will he! Guaranteed defensive coaching role

Total disgrace, u should go support someone else, obviously havnt got a clue about football, carra stands for everything liverpool is about, heart passion courage and he will never leave liverpool

Well the votes are evenly split at the moment which is interesting .

Good Luck to Buck and the rebuilding process .

EdWood

We have Skrtel, Agger, Coates, Kelly and don't forget Sama.

Nonsense....he offers alot to the younger players like kelly,robbo and flanno.
He should be offered a defensive coaching position as soon as he wants it.

Is this the same Mr.Liverpool who when only offered a one year extention threatened to let his contract run out and go to Everton on a free. quite a few of the players don't like him or rate him as a footballer and a few of the quality players that have left over the last few years wouldn't entertain coming back here while Carragher is still cock of the landing. Should have left 3 years ago , he can't even pass to a red shirt

He will play a bigger part in our future then any one at the club at this present time,he lives and breaths football and lfc,with gerrard our only link to the old liverpool way,a future lfc manager and current lfc legend only a fool would even THINK about letting him leave

Edwood you are a fool.you totally dont get it do you,go support chelsea or some other plastic club.you show no respect for carra and lfc

Well the votes are in and it seems quite positive , most voters are happy for Jamie Carragher to continue his playing career elsewhere and then prove himself as a coach before joining the LFC staff .

Here is to Brendan Rogers revolution and the new dawn of Liverpoll Football Club in the 21st Century .

EdWood

He has been a quality servant for liverpool but he is going to be a very expensive fourth choice cb. i know he has earnt his right to maybe get that option, but im not sure the owners would be happy paying his salary for the return they will get from him. good luck trying to get him to leave or help coach on less wages

Why get rid of carra after all the years of service he has given us, he is a rue liverpool legend.

ok hes getting on a bit. but hes still incrediable

04 Jun 2012 13:06:01
do you think if holloway takes over at swansea he would be interested in charlie adam on loan?

cocko ynwa

What would be the benefit of loaning out charlie Adam? He isn't young and won't gain experience and we would still be paying some of his wages and would weaken our squad even more in that position than it already is

He may be intersted in a swap deal for joe allen tho i know there is a 12 month ban on us buying swansea players but if thee manager wanted the move cant see why something cant be worked out for him

And pacheco would suit swanseas style. {Ed016's Note - Pacheco didn't even really shine in the championship.}

Either loan or sell. Simply not good enough for LFC. {Ed016's Note - No point in trying to loan him. Maybe he will stay}

Wingers - Boudebouz/Munian
Attack mid - Dempsey/Ramirez/Sissoko/Diego
Def mid - Banega/Fernando Reges
Def - Kjaer/Isla/Dann

eds two questions firstly was dirk kuyt out of contract or did we sel him, if so how much for? also did anybody mention interest in meertens before belgium played england as I don't recall his name being mentioned. have to laugh at people when they see a player with a half decent touch on tv they come running here and say we're signing him. Pathetic!! {Ed002's Note - Kuyt was sold for about £1M. Mertens was mentioned regularly - try the search function.}

funds cause there scruffs {Ed002's Note - I would have thought very slim indeed.}

Please NO.

Why would LFC need fellaini when they have Lucas, who is a technically better player. Lucas before he got injured was on track to being the best defensive mid this season in the prem, why change that for a lanky, immobile guy with a stupid afro?

I too believe reds are interested in him. Superb passer and perfect for our deep midfield anchor. People here dreaming of Javi/ Xabi types are deluded. A new manager doesn't give us more pull than Utd and they will surely have a better chance if those caliber players become available. Fellini is one of the best we can hope for. Azkop

04 Jun 2012 11:48:35
for me this would be how I would like to see the summer pan out...
In
de jong 12m
dempsey 5m
dembele 10m
Affaley 6m

spend 33m

Out

Aurelio (released)
Kuyt (2.7m)
Aqualani (5m)
Cole (free)
Spearing (3m)
Maxi (free)

In 10 m

total spend 23m

Wouldnt mind adding sigurdsson to that list.

Affelay wont go for less than he was bought, kuyt has already left for 1 million, spearing isnt worth 500k, de jong looks set to go benfica

Well you should change Kuyt's figure to around 1million that would make it actually accurate..

You're a mug we don't want de jong and we sold kuyt for 1 mil not 3?!

I was thinking more along the lines of...

Offer New Contracts
Wilson, Robinson
Sterling
Bellamy

Let Contracts Expire (Summer 2013)
Jones
Carragher - retirement - offer coaching job
Maxi.

Loan Out
Wisdom, Robinson
Henderson*, Suso, Coady, Silva, Morgan
Bijev

Sell
Doni, Gulacsi £ 2.5m
Darby £ 0.5m
Spearing, Cole* £ 6.0m
Kuyt, Pacheco, Eccleston £ 3.0m

With Aquilani back in the squad, both him and Adam given their last chance, with the worst one of the two forced out of Anfield and target an established striker and wide right midfielder. {Ed002's Note - It is not possible to offer Sterling a new contract due to his age.}

This last reply is rubbish.Many of the players you suggest should get a new contract got one last seasonand most of those you said let the contracts run out this summer actually have a year or two left to run. Then you suggest Aquilani is back in the squad.He has made it clear on more than one occasion that he does not want to play for LFC.

Darby already released from club

Kuyt has already left LFC he has gone to febernhance or something

Gonna need to add a dash of cash in your pan! Azkop

Pure luck unfortunately - I think he ment to cross. He even seem suprised when he sees the ball go in. -red norwegian-

Lets sign players based solely on one goal. Title here we come

He was looking to put in a cross ... surely you are not judging him on that goal

Rodgers wanted him for Swansea just before he left so he is being linked to Liverpool now.

Ed,002 is there any chance of BR getting players from comparatively unknown leagues..
he has great eye for talent bringing players like Vorm(1.5m),sinclair(0.5m)sigurdsson(loan)while at swansea(i know swansea players are not coming for 12 months)..so hoping we can scout our own gems for cheap like chicharito..

have we any chance of getting players like Sime vrsaljko or karim ansarifard(the guy plays like a young torres) for eg..

they are random names maybe to some & i dont play console ,just that came across their names in the internet and then seen them play a few times and both looks great players for the future .. {Ed002's Note - The scouting network will likely remain broadly as it is right now and I would expect that Rodgers has one or two players in mind but will want to look at the existing squad. Manchester City, Leverkusen and Roma have shown an interest in Vrsaljko. The other player you mention is I think the Iranian kid - a work permit may well be an issue.}

The lists of names being rumoured at our club is huge. This includes the following.

G. Ramirez.
R. Soldado.
L. De Jong.
I. Affelay.
L. Diarra.
D. Teixeria.
E. Granero.
G. Sigurdson.
A. Johnson.

Forme I'd pick

R. Soldado. Hasn't gone the euros so we could attempt a quick deal if we move fast.

I. Affelay going for a small fee and still young. Well worth a punt for me.

G. Ramirez. Still a few clubs sniffing so need at act fast.

All three would add flair and attacking power that we sadly lack.

Jonesred

Affelay is very injury prone but and the likelihood is that we will not get to see his flair. D texiera was just a piece of bad journalism. granero is just putting 2+2 togather to give 5. soldado cannot play in the same team as carroll. diarra just naw and johnson will have to take a huge wage cut. but de jong ramirez and sigurdson are realistic

Absolutley,Affelay is worth a punt mate,excellent player !!

That's the ones I'd go for!

Didnt Texiera join in jan ?

As Fenerbahce was high on Krasic and now have signed Kuyt, does it mean Krasic could be one step closer to Liverpool? Just an observation.

Hi eds/Macca,

Is it true that Jordie Clasie has agreed to sign for swansea?. also really think we should try and tempt Joe Allen to join us he is a great player IMO but would need to wait a year due to the gentlemans agreement in the Compensation deal.

YNWA...Rabbit93 {Ed001's Note - agreed to join them? No one will agree to join them until their manager is in place. They were interested in him though.}

Havent spurs and juventus also confirmed their interest in the lad?

You serious Joe Allen a great player? glad we can't get him.

04 Jun 2012 10:05:09
If with many of our targets other , bigger teams are interested surely we are looking for some other talent from elsewhere maybe the likes of Christian eriksen or somebody like Oscar de Marcos or hoillett , do we have a serious chance of landing muniain

Ed(s) please reply {Ed001's Note - highly unlikely he would leave Bilbao for us.}

04 Jun 2012 09:48:48
Ed' was at England match and apart from his shove on Cahill,martens played really well, is there a chance we will sign him

And also I heard Rodgers wants to loan players to Swansea and was wondering which players will go out {Ed001's Note - no idea.}

04 Jun 2012 09:17:11
Hi Eds?
Any chance of signing these players?;
-L.De Jong.
-R.Boudebouz.
-M.Diamé.
-G.Sigurdsson.
-C.Dempsey. {Ed001's Note - yes.}

That would do me!!!!!!!!!!!!! {Ed016's Note - Except for Dempsey}

04 Jun 2012 11:08:29
Afellay and Sigurdsson lined up by Rodgers. Trust me. Put your money on it.

Add Iker Muniain and one of Soldado or Luuk De Jong and I'd be well happy.
Skurks

What, all of it?

Please let this be true

What about Nilmar of Villareal?

Inter milan, mate. deal has been struck. am i right, ed?
Ratan {Ed002's Note - No - Internacional.}

He is nothing else than pace.
Shut down Fifa Ultimate team.
I've spoken to a Villarreal fan, and belive me he says the same as well.

Ed wot are the chances on getting keita from barca be a decent buy for me {Ed001's Note - I very much doubt that we will move for him, he is not young and is on high wages.}

I'll try again.......Ed's/Macca, Just curious on the sporting director situation. What is the latest on this? are we having 1, 2, 3? and who is most likely Segura, Van Gaal, Bergiristain or any others?

Thanks fellas,
Ozred.

If you mean Comolli's old job, there isn't going to be one, that is why Rodgers took the job

BR made it clear to the board that he rather not work with a dof. So the answer is none of them will be a dof.

Er...big bren won't work with one , so we are having a committee instead of a d.o.f.

So will Van Gaal not be coming in any capacity now then ??

shame he has a whole world of footballing knowledge behind him if he doesn't :(

Hey Ed,

Appreicate all the work you guys do, question though.

Read somewhere that Asamoah of Udinese could very well leave and was wondering if he was the sort of player BR would be interested in if Gylfi doesn't come to Liverpool. Thanks. {Ed001's Note - no idea, sorry, I haven't really watched a lot of him play.}

Ed,
It is a sad day for LFC since one of the most loyal players in the team dirk kuyt left us for the turkish team.Although he wanted to leave he is one of the players every LFC fan will surely miss.He is not selfish like Ronaldo even though he scored only 50 goals for us its like 150 for us.Most of the goals he scored were very important for us.Hopefully would like to see Dirk again after sometime in coaching roles.
YWNA Kuyt

He has never been a great player just a hard worker. Not saying he was bad, he was a good player but not great.
As for coaching I don't think he would be suitable for that!

They way you guys go on we are going to have 50 coaches. There aint no space for kuyt

He might not have been a golden boot contender but you can't question his work rate at all.

I hope it works out for him in Turkey and I wish him all the best.

Gaz1975.

Love Kuyt- great attitude. But......I'd rather have selfish and 150 goals!

Totally agree...he may have been limited and frustrating to watch at times but he never let us down. Not once did he fail to turn up and thats probably the reason why he ended up scoring in crucial games. Ultimately, leaving aside issues to do with sty;e etc, he was a fantastic player for us. He deserved a better send off than this..

I agree that Dirk scored some very valuable goals for us....but come on! He was a good squad player, a work-horse and never gave less than 100%. But he was never a 25 goal a year man, and he most definitely wasn't a right winger. He has done great for the club but it was the right time to move on. Rodgers appointment is the start of a new era at Liverpool and we should bee looking for players with craft and trickery, and the ability to unlock defences. I would thank Dirk for the job that he has done and say goodbye....and having him back as a coach? Hmmmm perhaps if I kiss the LFC badge I could get a job as well!

Please, he was not as good as your talking him up. he wont be missed that much at all, his passing and possession was teribble. i for one am happy FSG wasnt fooled by his headless running about and decided to tell him to look for another club

Hopefully only a fitness coach as he is in no position to coach anything else

Fitness coach yes please anything else no thanks

Some of you lot are a disgrace, kuyt was a fantastic player for us, right he wasn't the best crosser of a ball but his high tempo pressure in the opponents half was priceless, his finishing was very good when he got an opportunity, his goal return was very good considering he always played out wide and his ball winning style of play. He will be missed.

Players like Kuyt can't stay with the club forever. sooner or later they will have to move on.

We can only wish him well wherever he goes.

A great member of the lfc squad who never gave less than his all for the team. But as u say he did run about like a headless chicken sometimes and also he is not a striker either, he was constantly getting caught offside because he had to make the runs early as his lack of pace was dreadful. However he scored some crucial goals for lfc and for that I thank him and wish him all the best.

Dirk Kuyt is a hero and responsible for some fantastic moments in recent LFC history. My favourite moment was when we were playing standard leige in the 2nd leg of the champs league qualifier a few years back, and in the 118th minute, as it appeared a shoot out would be the way we were going to decide whether we would be competing at the top table and reaping the rewards, Kuyt popped up with a (very) last minute winner. Just the kind of goal he scored; there when you needed him. Thanks Dirk!

Re the last comment:Dirk will always be a Liverpool Legend, any player who scores a hatrick against the scum is a hero in my eyes. Kuyt scored many important goals for us and was an integral part of the team over the past few years, shame on you talking down Kuyt. PUT YOUR HANDS UP FOR DIRK KUYT....HE LOVES THIS CITY!!!!

Not a money grabber a man, a real man in todays fairy boys

Other than Gerrard, the best finisher at the club. The best at pressing the opposition. The most generous with his earnings. And loyal to the club - Inter wanted him to two years ago.

Dumb not to have played him. Inexplicable decision by former manager.

Now both manager and player are gone. {Ed016's Note - Inter wanted him because Rafa was there}.

Agreed, true legend, but it was time for him to move on.

Eds, I've just looked at the player profile on Christian Eriksen and i was just wondering if you thought that under BR Liverpool would see him as a possible target this summer.

SR YNWA {Ed002's Note - No.}

Eriksen will not join liverpool, hes a spuds fan, he was apparently quoted in a football mag as saying if he came to england other than spurs hes only other option would be united!

We won't get him I wouldn't really want him

I don't think we are going to attract big players to this club without champions league football and further with Brendan as our manager. At best we may get players like Dempsey and lower league players.

Why not? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen in the recent past. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. The Milan Press Office are convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expect a bid to be made by for Eriksen who remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for two more years before moving to Spain. Expect AC Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United.}

jon jo shelvey, on loan to swansea

I think rodgers want would want to train shelvey himself so that he adapts to his style.

More likely suso if we get gylfi....

Swansea can keep him I think he is terrible!

No he isn't Shelvey has a great chance of becoming a first team regular next season

Shelvey is a future liverpool regular he has shown he's better then spearing and hendo when hes played.

He won't get in swans side. Not in front of Allen or Britton would play bit part just like the Chelsea boy that went there

Obviously we have no idea what is going to happen but i reckon rodgers would rather sell/loan/release spearing, adam and/or aquilani before he got rid of shelvey. quality player in the making.

Id rather have titus bramble or djimi traore! Shelvey is absolute garbage! I watched him play against chelsea an four times he tackled himself!! He isnt even a championship player in the making hell never be a LIVERPOOL STANDARD PLAYER!
