For a rumour that I find to be one of the more ridiculous ones I've read all summer you have been quite polite in you're shooting down of it Ed. Kudos for your show of self restraint.

Yes well done Ed as Stevie62 points out this isn't a rumour site whereby rumours people post and spread can hopefully be either validated or quashed . Oh no . Hang on a min !

Google "Toni Kroos Liverpool" and look for the Empire of the Kop article about how this rumour came about - it should be the first non-news one. It's quite educational and demonstrative of why the Eds generally steer us away from this sort of nonsense.

There was a great write up on where this "rumour" came from yesterday.

Basically a story ran about a hypothetical replacement for Thiago Motta, aanalysing players who could possibly fill his boots. After the list of viable options the reporter noted that Kroos would be a fantastic option but would never be available.

A spanish reporter mis-read that story and the printed that PSG wanted Kroos.

A British paper, I think the Telegraph then read the story from Spainm ran their own version saying that Kroos was now "Unhappy" at Madrid which had put Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal & Chelsea on alert. They named these 4 because they knew they would get the most clicks from the most active supporters that way.

The Metro then picked up on that and went with their own version saying we were leading the chase for him knowing that out of the 4 we're the most click heavy, but also saying the others would be interested.

So a french editorial opinion piece about the ideal midfielders that could possibly come in replace Motta, stating how Kroos although perfect, could not be bought, got turned into PSG bidding for him, then 4 prem clubs entering the race, Kroos becoming unhappy and then Liverpool leading the bidding for a player who as far as anyone knows is more than happy, not for sale, and not even had an enquiry from any club anywhere.

Any truth in sissoko links being reported by sky sports? We will soon have enough midfielders to fill stadium extension.

I know !! we are gathering a small army is seems - see my post from yesterday. Brendan has caught Rafamidfielder disease.

And how will we fit all these players in? Surely someone is going or a few are going out on loan? We'd have Lallana, Markovic, Ibe, Firmino, Teixera, Coutinho and Traore as wide men with Benteke, Ings, Origi, Sturridge up front. Does anyone know what the plan really is??

Maybe stop wasting money on midfielders, get rid of Lovren and buy another decent CB

Seen that myself, think he would be a really good signing to be honest think we need to try get shut of Allen (which is unlikely) and replacing him with sissoko would be ideal as he's a solid midfielder who scores goals. Think he could shine in a red shirt!

Utter nonsense based on pointless betting odds. Sky cited the daily star, so it's all poppycock.
