Pedro Goncalves Ed002
What a player that boy is! Which sides are interested in him and have Liverpool shown an interest? Not sure how much Sporting would be looking for but he is a worldy.

{Ed002's Note - Pedro Goncalves (RW/AM) Sporting say that there has been no direct approach from any other side about the kid but admitted to have had Spurs and Real Madrid scouts watch him. The suggestion of approaches from Manchester United and Liverpool seem wide of the mark at this time, although his agent says he spoke with the former when Mr Mourinho was in charge and there is interest. Perhaps in a couple of years a return to England might make sense but for now Manchester United do not seem to have the need with Fernandes in the AM role and €80M as cover for Liverpool is not a great deal. He has a contract through to 2026 and an €80M (cash) buy out clause.}

Thank you Ed002 I think this lad is going to be world class and I would have him in a heartbeat over Keita or Ox.

{Ed0666's Note - can you state your reasons for thinking he’s gonna be world class?

ed0666, He got 23 league goals from midfield last year. So far this year he has 3 in 5 in the league and 2 in 2 in the UCL for Sporting. There are very clear parallels between him and Bruno Fernandes, predicting him to become world class similarly to his predecessor is a very reasonable statement in my opinion.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not knocking the prediction I’m merely asking as to reasons for it. You think Fernandes is workd class??

I hate to say it as Liverpool Fan I like Bruno Extremely good player world class? I'd say no as of now he just doesn't deliver in the big games against the top 6 or in Europe when United need him. actually think he is being hindered by Ronaldo being in the team.

I’d find it hard to say Bruno isn’t world class, there’s a lot of banter about him being a penalty merchant, but if signing Pedro goncalves mirrored the signing of Bruno, I’d encourage Liverpool to do it instantly.

TBH I’m thinking that Fernandes is actually a bit of a one season wonder. From watching United this season he looks very poor. Could be poor management of course but I would never put him in the much abused ‘world class’ category.

It's easy to get caught up in semantics, worldie or not Bruno made Utd's season last term. Saved Ole's job. On last season's form he'd improve most teams.

With Ronnie there, Utd are set up differently and it doesn't suit Bruno.

Great, isn't it? 😂.

Ed002

Could you explain (high level) this "tax break/ incentive" in Italy for professional footballers?

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - They have lower highest-level tax rates in Italy which is why it costs less to pay the same wages.}

04 Nov 2021 07:14:51
In Italy footballers and other elite sports folk can get 50 percent tax exemption. They are required to pay an annual fee if they claim the exemption. It’s done at varying levels in other countries.
