Haven’t been on for a few months I just wanted to come back on to say a big 🖕😊 to THE resident moaner ( it mentioning names but very much doubt i’d Have to! ) who complained complained and complained some more about us signing Andy Robertson, moan moan moan and in half of his moans called him Robinson! I just hope you’ve that just cos were not signing Marcelo’s doesn’t mean we’re not getting hard work and top top quality! Bring on Kiev! Nice one Ed’s as always.

Believable7 Unbelievable6

{Ed0333's Note - Andy Robertson is not top top quality. Why are people not getting this. Just because he was cheap and had a few decent games doesn’t make him Roberto friggin Carlos.

03 May 2018 22:50:32
Why are people not getting what Ed033?

That we’ve got the best left back in the premier league? Tell me I’m wrong 🙃🔴

I wouldn’t swap Robbo for any other LB in the prem, and I won’t be convinced otherwise 😋.

Agree14 Disagree2

{Ed0333's Note - I give up lol. I’m not a believer yet Navy. You know what mate give me a 1500 word essay on your hypothesis that Robbo is the best left back in the country. Oh and I’m gonna show your work to Eds 001 and he’ll want lots of pictures with lithe muscular young men in tight sportswear as supplementary evidence. FYI Ed’s 001 has penchant for Ryan Bertrand so deffo include pics of him. Your welcome.

03 May 2018 22:53:42
Robbo is a quality player and the best left back we had in many a year. can only really think of alaba who has been a better left back since crimbo.

{Ed0333's Note - omg

Everyone was on about how good Flanno was also, same thing all over again.

Agree2 Disagree12

03 May 2018 23:34:56
No it's not the same as flanno. Robbo is genuine quality. flanno we loved cos he was a local lad. im stunned some people can't see how good robbo is.

Agree9 Disagree2

03 May 2018 23:38:19
It isn't the same thing at all. This lad came through the very bottom and hasn't put a foot wrong in the Champions League. Come on, give the lad credit. He intercepts, reads the game well, gets back in to position, is hard to get past because he can turn quickly and is pacey. Can also get forward and back quickly and plays intelligent passes. These are FACTS so, I would say he may not be everyones cup of tea but he does what it says on the tin and many past players love him. I'm proud to have him.

Agree12 Disagree2

03 May 2018 23:50:32
I don't think I've seen a "team of the year" with anyone else at left back!

Agree9 Disagree1

03 May 2018 23:52:38
Jon Flanagan didn’t play for almost 2 years because of injuries, it’s not the same thing at all!

Here we go with stoupid posts where posters start to take on the opinions of an ed out of the blue. Robertson has done his job: (a) Defensively - you don't see teams targeting him as a weak link as they used to with Moreno. Can someone name me a single goal that has come from a Robertson mistake? (b) Attacking- a job of the 'modern' day full-back (should he have a double wage for doing two jobs?! ) he has started to put in some wicked balls and definitely set up one tap-in for Firmino that I can remember with a pinpoint pass (c) Did you see him dribble past four players against Roma? Who else does that? The 'world-class' left backs you are probably wetting your pants over (d) Workrate, I know it's a given, but it isn't given with all left backs across the league, but it is with Andy (e) Passion. Can't be bought with a bonus payment. It's in your heart. And Andy clearly wants to give 100% for LFC every game (f) I wish I could add a goal to this list- he's come close once or twice but had his boots on the wrong feet (g) Awwwwwwwwwwwwww look at his face!

He's not the finished article, but he's getting better. Who knows where it'll end? Ed033 what was Roberto friggin Carlos like when he was Andy's age?

Give him a chance. I bet he'll prove you wrong.
Love from, Andy's Mum x.

Agree7 Disagree1

{Ed0333's Note - Hello Andy’s mum, nice to hear from you. Roberto ‘friggin’ Carlos was playing for Real Madrid when he was Andy Robertson’s age. Love you. Ed’s 333.

04 May 2018 00:58:38
I love his drive, stamina and work ethic. I think he’s great and perfect for klopp’s system. Please name a better left back because at the moment there’s no one who is head and shoulders above him.
Also, is he our fastest player?
His acceleration is unbelievable.
I absolutely love him and considering his price he is k my behind Salah as the buy of the season The premiership.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - omg he’s not great ffs.

04 May 2018 04:37:45
Are we all trolling Ed0333? Robbo is good at what he has to do but he’s by not great yet. He does his job and has been very reliable. He not the best in the PL - Marcos Alonso is a fair bit better- but he’s in the discussion now for top left backs in the league which is much better than what we’re accustomed to seeing (Konchesky) .

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it does feel like you are all trolling just because the Premier League has crap left backs does not make him a great player. He is not a bad player, but being better than Marcus 'spends more time at centre forward than on the left' Alonso or Ben 'embarrassingly average' Davies or Ryan 'ridiculously overrated' Bertrand does not make a player great. He has a long, long way to reach the level of greatness and singing his praises when he is nowhere near is not going to help him achieve it. Great story he has, but there is still a lot left for the lad to learn to become top class.}

04 May 2018 05:40:51
You can’t win on this site sometimes, call a player crap- get called out for slagging off our players. Call a player good- get told he’s actually not very good. If we were all calling Robbo crap would the Ed’s be happier?

Agree2 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - would be a lot happier if we didn't have people like you whining because an ed gave an opinion which differs from all the hyperbole the rest were using.}

04 May 2018 06:45:55
Robbo is a decent player with great determination and tenacity. I agree he’s one of the best left backs in the league but that probably says more about the standards of left backs in the Prem. I certainly see him being our left back going forward as I now see other positions being more important for reinforcements but he isn’t as good as some fans think but his style and attitude is very fan friendly. The thing is he’s getting better and I hope he can keep improving to become a top top left back.
Comparing him to Marcelo, yes Marcelo makes mistakes and positionally can be caught out but he’s the best left back going forward in the world and has real quality and contributes loads to Madrid going forward. A lot are seeing him as the weak link for us to win the final but he could be the opposite and their match winner.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 May 2018 07:45:16
I think the reason that we’re all so pleased with Robbo is because we were so poor at left back for so long. We’ve been crying out for someone who will do the simple things right and not expose our (in the past) vulnerable cbs. When Klopp identified and then bought Robbo, many were very underwhelmed but he has performed so much better than we’d have expected. (Best since JAR, who wasn’t a top quality left back either) . Left back no longer looks like a weak position for us. In that respect he’s been a great signing, has had a great start to his liverpool career and shows the potential to improve further. Couple that with his humble personality and work rate and it’s easy for me to see why some are going over the top with praise for him. He did just help us reach Kiev!

Agree1 Disagree0

04 May 2018 08:00:41
Marcelo makes mistakes and positionally can be caught out but he’s the best left back going forward in the world. but he is a left back not a winger and defensively he is really poor don't think its a prem thing think its a football thing full backs can't defend anymore. Moreno is a modern day full back just really poor at defending and not great going forward but most can only do one or the other. what's good about Robbo is he is good at both but not world class at both. but he is getting better all the time and he is the best left back we have had for a long time hope he just keeps getting better.

Agree2 Disagree0

04 May 2018 08:04:53
Whether he’s great, good or average player, what he has been is a constantly good performer this season probably only behind Salah, Firmino and also Milner (who I would also say is no longer a great player but steady and reliable) but Milner along with Robertson is playing above my estimations. The in thing that has been noticeable is he was sorely missed when rested against West Brom and Stoke, he is much better than any other option we have for that position and has proved to be a cheap buy. But out there now who are the great left backs in world football, the problem is now being a full back seems to have very little to do with if you can defend or not.

Agree3 Disagree1

04 May 2018 08:13:24
And on that note. Robertson to score the champions league final winning goal or provide the assist for it! The lads improved, greatly. Certainly made me eat my words as i like many im sure were not overjoyed with his signing. Most in form left back in the league at this time. Most certainly. Best left back in the league this season. maybe. But for me to be on a top top class level he will need to deliver more assists and more dangerous crosses on a game by game basis where teams are making tactical changes to try and nullify him. All in all I'm pleased we have him and long may his form continue.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2018 09:13:54
Why do liverpool fans over hype any player that's had more than 5 good games a season. The feller is doing well but not great.
Over the length of his contract I would believe we will be saying he's great but just not at this stage yet.

Agree1 Disagree2

04 May 2018 09:31:40
Do an a Alan Kennedy you mean? Wouldn't that be poetic!

He's good but that's all. He wouldn't get into my top three left backs from Liverpool gone past ( Alan Kennedy, John Arne Riise and joey jones spring to mind without thinking too much about it), but he's got a great attitude and appreciates what it all means. He's a liverpool favourite for That reason alone

Hopefully he will be a regular for many a season but let's be rational about it. Lots to learn but good first impressions.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 May 2018 09:39:33
Right now there are 4 players in the Liverpool team that I wouldn't swap for anyone else in the world of football. Robertson is one of them. Firmino Salah and Van Dijk being the other 3. That's how much I personally rate the guy! Our recent Transfers have been superb. Long may it continue!

Agree2 Disagree1

04 May 2018 09:47:51
I wasnt comparing Robbo with Marcelo, I meant that just because we didn’t go after names like Marcelo that we’re not getting top quality from hard work, the lad is on fire, what a story an all., him and Trent are keeping “big names” out of the team, and for good reason. anyway my post didn’t look that bad before pressed post lol. ✌️😊.

Agree3 Disagree0

04 May 2018 10:03:15
It was a fair post and your opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 May 2018 11:32:32
Look let’s just all agree we haven’t seen a better left back at Liverpool since JA Risse and we all bloody love the lad to bits 😋

Ed333 you know I was only being playful with my comment. But Ed001 you are looking at it too pessimisticly my friend. I know the standard of LBs in the premier isn’t the best we’ve ever seen but they’re still top players mate and do good jobs for their teams. just Robbo is much better than them that’s all 😬😋🔴.

Agree3 Disagree0

04 May 2018 19:53:42
Personally think he's the best left back in the league. He's been better than the Eds are making out and can improve significantly but let's give the lad his due.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 May 2018 13:55:05
Robertson is a good player. Not "great" yet and he may not get there. I think he gets all the hype cos he's from the UK and no-one can remember the last time Liverpool had a LB.
However, I don't know if there's any LB in the league that I'll take ahead of him. I like my defenders to defend first and Robertson does that well.
He's not a top-tier full back yet in the mold of Lahm or Zanetti, but how many have their been in the last few years.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 May 2018 21:17:47
Not saying it's true but just read Pulisic of Dortmund is being looked at. Have to be honest not really seen anything of him.

Also read we are linked with Koulibaly of Napoli as well, got to say looks a great defender again not sayings it's true.

I'd like De Ligt of Ajax for a centre back looks a great prospect, but would be happy with Koulibaly also. We may not buy a centre half even but both are good players.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

03 May 2018 21:39:02
I'd absolutely love the Pulisic rumours to be true, I saw a few rumours about Klopp wanting him, this morning as well. I just can't see it been true personally but would love it to be. Pulisic is the next massive thing imo, he's a great player.

03 May 2018 21:50:23
That 2 with already Kieta coming in to. Would be amazing. can't see it, but we can dream.

Agree6 Disagree0

03 May 2018 22:38:57
I've said it before and I believe that a wide forward is very important in this window. Salah and Mane were able to rotate along with Coutinho up until January and since then they've played almost every single game. Pulisic would be an absolute dream and I reckon he'd get good game time here. Can he play in central midfield as well or does he generally play wide?

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - I’ve seen him play as a #10 but he’s more effective from either the right or left.

04 May 2018 04:52:23
Cant imagine Pulisic being keen to leave a starting spot at Dortmund to sit on our bench. Besides, I don't think we are at the point yet where we can afford 60 million pound bench warmers. I can't see it being realistic unless Salah is leaving.

Agree0 Disagree3

04 May 2018 05:43:06
Who’s to say he would sit on our bench Brisbane? If he’s good enough he would start. Mane has been dropping deeper and more central this season so maybe Pulisix could play on the left? There are times against smaller teams where an extra attacking player might have turned draws to wins.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 May 2018 06:57:36
DaRedMen- they’ve been a much better force without the roatation and Coutinho in the side though.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2018 07:17:17
I don’t get why people assume you’re either a starter or on the bench and no-one decent will take that role. With the number of games we play, there’s plenty of chances to accomodate 4 starting quality players among the front three.

All the top teams can bring on someone that’s as good as those already on the pitch. witness RM bringing on Casemiro and Bale as subs the other day, or Citeh bringing on Aguero for Jesus, or Utd bringing on Rashford for Alexis.

We need at least one more top quality player that can fit into our front three. Ings can’t play wide and he isn’t the same quality or style of player of a Mane or Salah, so we lose a lot currently when one of those two get tired or injured.

Agree4 Disagree0

04 May 2018 09:44:42
Yes like bernado Silva for city.

We need at least 3 wide Fwd and 2 capable strikers.
We have 3 of 5 And ings.

We play approx 45 to 50 games a season.
If u play 2/ 3 u still play 30 games.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 May 2018 13:17:00
I suspect Klopp and the owners would drop 60 million on Pulisic in a heartbeat.

We have have been chasing that lad for years. I wouldn't be surprised if he were our top transfer target.

I'm not sure he's that keen on us, though. I think I remember reading he wanted to go to Real or Barcelona if/ when he left Dortmund. Of course, things can change.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2018 14:00:47
Pulisic doesn't have a guaranteed starting spot for BVB. Coming to Liverpool will have him with the same team role as BVB.
I have watched him over the past 2 seasons and he's special.
He isn't in a hurry to leave BVB though. BVB aren't looking to sell him. Don't think his contract is expiring soon. Which means we might have to pay through our nose for him.
Personally, I feel it might be difficult to get the backup we want for the front 3. The good young ones that will settle for a squad role will be very expensive. The good adult ones will want to be starters.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2018 16:51:54
Cobra, I totally agree that we've been better without Coutinho. But my point was that they will either need a rest or they will get injured so we need sufficient cover.

Hi Ed001

Great result last night mate.

Do we have a decent chance of landing Morrison from Norwich this summer would you say?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - I am going to assume you mean Maddison and there is not some Morrison at Norwich that I have just not heard of and say no, not really. His type of player is not high on our current priority list.}

03 May 2018 17:53:24
Sorry mate yes meant Maddison lol. Think im still pi##ed from last night.

{Ed001's Note - I am glad as it otherwise meant that Norwich had some wunderkind I hadn't heard of.}
