eds/macca, who are realistic targets for us this summer?

What is with the unbelievable clicks? He has a valid question.. You don't all seriously just believe in everything the daily mail or what someone on twitter says?

Adam Johnson
Gylfi Siggurdson
Didier Drogba

Our targets are to be realistic about our targets.

ED02 you seem convinced that De Jong will join, do you think it will be a similar fee as you previously stated (around 12 - 13 mil). Or do you think Twente will wait until after the Euro's to try and up his fee?

Papa G {Ed002's Note - I am by no means and have never said I am convinced he will join. De Jong will be one of those being watched this summer by a number of clubs from Italy, Germany and England. Interest has been shown by Dortmund, Liverpool, Lille and Newcastle over recent months but any waning interest from Newcastle has now been replaced by firm interest from both Dortmund and Hamburg. It has been suggested to me that Lazio are looking to Luuk De Jong as a replacement for Tommaso Rocchi.}

Apologies, you seemed quite confident in Jan. thought the 23 year old Dutch player you mentioned earlier was De Jong and as always I trusted your sources.

Papa G

Terrible player, no pace, no composure.
Looks decent in the Dutch league, but not good enough for the fast paced Premier league

Who are they looking to buy

junior hoilett to Mönchengladbach. 4 years deal. very good french source: l'equipe

WTF?!
French source, Canadian player and German League?!
Why not an Arab source aswell?

That rumour was noted on broadcast of USA-Canada friendly last night, and apparently Hoilett himself denied it altogether as false in a discussion with one of the broadcasters reporters during the game. Another Canadian international (Olivier Occean) was also linked to Monchengladbach, which seems to be a link with merit, perhaps meaning the Hoilett rumour was just speculation in reaction to that.

Quick question editors: Do you think Jordi Alba will be moving anywhere this summer? If so do you think Liverpool would have a chance of signing him, or are there bigger fish interested in his signature? Cheers

SMc {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Alba from Barcelona and speculation about interest from both Manchester based clubs. Chelsea and AC Milan both made speculative enquiries about Alba before the January window. I would hazard a guess he could spend his near-term career in Spain - certainly he could well worry about the impact on his international prospects. Staying at Valencia another year is a perfectly possible outcome as is a deal to involve a Barcelona player going on loan as part of the package - perhaps Tello.}

Alba have agrred deal with Barca, wait valencia accept a fee.

He won't be going anywhere

Cheers editors - it seems there are way bigger fish than Liverpool courting his signature at the moment.

Have some news and a questio, seems spurs have their noses in the trough! they are being seriously linked with mertens, dembele! they have also made a mark of intent stating bale, modric & sandro will not be leaving! van der vaart has come out and said he will not be leaving! said target dos santos I'm told will be used a lot more next season ( thought I would mention before everyone starts going on about his goal v brazil) and also, question! seydou doumbia! are we linked? as photos have appeared, confirmed accuracy of the player arriving at white hart lane!

I dont care what Spurs do...

Doesn't anyone else think that Dos Santos goal was perhaps a cross?

You should care because we're in direct competition with them for that all important top 4 finish

Why don't you go and support spurs?! Who cares who anyone else signs?

His goal vs brazil was pure luck and his dive was pathetic.

Definately a cross.

Fourth post down, please read the post directly above you!

Players who I believe Rodgers will chase
Sigardson
Munian
Top striker maybe Lukk de Jong
Diame

All fairly feasible, Muniain aside (he may join but I can see if). I never really paid attention to Diame. Is he an enforcer or more box to box, he wasn't a starter at Wigan so I'm not convinced he'd be worth the wages.

Papa G

I would absolutely love Muniain... but I try not to get my hopes up. Sigurdsson is an interesting one. Watching him at Swansea, I was really impressed and remember thinking "this is the sort of signing we need, technically good and pretty cheap"

Also agree with the other poster about Diame - I've never really paid much attention to him so can't really comment

Joe

Sounds a reasonable list of targets but i got a feeling BR would get Lassana Diarra rather than Diame due to his connection with Jose.
Skurks

Id take Diame as cover for lucus I also think that would allow you to off load spearing as he is definately an upgrade

Junior Hoilett Closes On Mönchengladbach Move. Luuk de Jong to Bayern

03 Jun 2012 20:51:10
heard from a very good source that liverpool are very interested in ki soeun youeg from celtic for about 6 million this will be just the start of major changes at anfield by rodgers big clearout planned

Blox, the only clear out will be of the obvious players, Kuyt,Maxi etc.I don't know anything about the Celtic guy so we will wait and see but as he has never been mentioned before I will be surprised if this is true,

He's not very good doesn't even start for celtic every week. {Ed016's Note - Watch the language, even ** normally the whole post gets deleted opposed to us editing the actual post. I did it this time for you but future reference keep it clean, everyone uses this site.}

As a Celtic and Liverpool fan I can say that the reason that Ki doesn't start for Celtic is because he isn't physically built for the SPL but he s a fantastic technical player and can control a passing midfield game. Hope he doesn't leave Celtic but if it would be anybody it should be Liverpool.

This is my first post but i have been reading for the last few weeks.

Firstly Ki of Celtic is no where near the standard of a Liverpool player, if we just want to sell tops in asia then fine but we are LIVERPOOL FC. its not about selling tops like united scum 4 tops a year!!(kayal is 10 times the player of Ki)

I am dissapointed we have let Kuyt go at all, never mind the price, but i have total faith in BR. Once he stopped playing he went and studied football in Holland and spain for years learning his trade.

he is just what we need.

Transfers? lets allow Brendan to know what we have first of all but i do believe Sigurdson will be a red next year.

Luuk De Yong would be great, Adam Johnson i have liked for a while. Its all speculation.

I am dissapointed at the posters who have totally ridiculed our squad, Henderson is a good young lad, downing must have something. yes spearing and maxi need to go, carra needs to be used lightly until he takes up his coaching role.

in summary we are LIVERPOOL FC the greatest team in the world

03 Jun 2012 20:47:01
hey ed(s) do u think ander herrera would be a good shout for creativity in midfield and how much do u think it would be to bring him to liverpool?

Another question dani pacheco! with brendan rodgers philosophy off football do you think when he comes back he could get the best out of him?

ACHILLES. {Ed001's Note - the issue is that Bilbao have no need to sell anyone, they also don't have any real need to raise funds to buy anyone, as there are so few players they can buy. So you have to pay over the odds for their players, whatever the buyout clause is (not sure in Herrera's case) is what it will take, unless the player wants to leave, or causes a few issues off the field like Muniain did.
As for Pacheco, I think he burnt his bridges at the club, I very much doubt he would be welcomed back. Though it is difficult to be certain, I just can't see the point in even giving him yet another chance, we have Suso who is far better.}

Cheers ed 001 for answering me question great job as usual.

ACHILLES. {Ed001's Note - cheers mate!}

What did Pacheco do that's soooo wrong? did he say he wants to play for Everton? {Ed040's Note - Pacheco wasn't happy that the club wouldn't let him train etc when he came back from loan at Norwich he also feels he should have been given more game time my opinion: let him go he's not the player a lot of people think he is}

03 Jun 2012 20:40:23
Now that Affeley fit again and kuyt moved on any chance Brendan will make him a part of his plans?

Beggers

The player has shown that he has some serious injury issues...We buy players with no injury and they are always injured in LFC,,,dunno if we buy this fragile one?maybe he come godd,but really doubt it

He's cobbled, i'd prefer Mertens, at least he injures other players, instead of himself.

Tbh I can see Affelay coming if the price is right. Rodgers has already shown his appreciation of him when talking about tika taka (Rodgers football strategy) saying he would be a perfect fit. Only time will tell.

RAH, YNWA

I'd hope so

03 Jun 2012 20:19:30
With dirk gone i was just wondering if liverpool or any other club for that matter have stepped up their interest in junior hoillet?? Consistency might be a problem but he aint too bad when hes firing on all cylinders and im sure with br and sc to mentor him we'd see him firing more often than not
A.K {Ed022's Note - He will more than likely end up in North London.}

On the french newspaper they say he has signed for Borussia Mönchengladbach

Thanks ed! Who do you thinks more likely though outta arsenal or tottenham?
A.K

But he is signed by 'Gladbach, so neither is likely at all. Zero possibility.

03 Jun 2012 19:25:13
I know its only early in Rodgers reign but can any of the Eds or Macca find out if we are still considering Muniain and Susaeta?

They would be ideal for Rodgers possession based system and according to Macca were of interest to the club prior to Rodgers appointment.

Cheers JY {Ed022's Note - In my opinion Muniain is a player Rodgers would be interested in.}

03 Jun 2012 19:45:25
Real Madrid player 'Esteban Granero' aka "El Pirata" has made it known to Jose that he wants to play for Liverpool FC, possible talks to take place this week with Brendon Rodgers should 'Gylfi Sigurdsson' reject move to LFC. {Ed016's Note - Source please.}

What a liar, no name poster...... Knight Templar

What type of Sauce? I only have BBQ

Sounds like a load of blox to me.

His pocket is the source lol
RedSox69

We've gotta sign this guy for his name alone; "El Pirata" must be one of the best footballer nicknames.

There was alot of talk in spain in JAN that this would happen,a perfect replacement for dirk as he to works like a dog.

redmad

03 Jun 2012 19:02:35
Luuk De Jong to be announced sometime next week.

YNWA!
Carl

How do you know?

Where is the source??

I rubbed my magic 8-ball.

Carl

No he won't

My magic beans are getting itchy, (which means this is toxic)

When he is at the euros and could effect him mentally?

Source mate?

03 Jun 2012 18:59:03
now that Kuyt is gone, surely we're looking for someone to play right winger. would BR be interested in Matt Philips? we used to have interest in him..

Kaizer {Ed022's Note - Possibly.}

I'd much rather go for Adam Johnson, James Milner or there are even rumours about Theo Walcott

Matt Phillips is good but not Liverpool standard if they want to push forward to may average players right don't need any more.

03 Jun 2012 18:17:37
Luuk de jong is not going to bayern.

Well he isnt coming to Liverpool

And you know that how?

Because he looks set to be going benfica, cardozo has been told he can jog on now basically

03 Jun 2012 17:26:46
Huge thank you to Dirk and all the best in Turkey. He gave many happy memories and always seemed to pop up in the right place at the right time. However, think would severely struggled under new regime and type of football that BR advocates.

Will be sorely missed and may have to of a new name... Oh well.

Dirks Engine Room

Farewell Dirk. Always 110% effort, epitomised what a professional footballer should be. Many players at Liverpool over the last 15 years have had twice his talent but less than half as effective as him. Hope all goes well in Turkey

Keep the name mate!

Square tomato

You have to keep the name mate

Thank you Dirk for what you've done fir our club. All the best for the future.

Not sure if he would have struggled as Brendans philosopy is to work hard and close the oppostion down. No one works harder than Dirk.

Dirk's Engine Room keep your name as a mark of respect to the great man,I would mate...YNWA!!

His work ethic would be superbly suited however when we have the ball he would struggle. Too slow with ball at his feet now I'm afraid.

Dirks Engine room

Could not and would not ever knock his work rate.Just the quality seemed to diminish last season.All good things must come to an end, good luck Dirk.
CR {Ed040's Note - Also worth noting the wages he was on}

Also worth noting he gave half his wages to charity!

Top man

dmedly

03 Jun 2012 17:17:40
Dempsey to Liverpool £4 mil

Just over £1m. Thats a joke even if he only had 1 year left on his contract. Whats going on with our negotiation skill.

Eds, rumour has it that real Madrid want Suarez in exchange for benzema and alonso. If true I would take it. Any news! {Ed022's Note - Nope.}

4m more than that

Good player at that price

He prefers everton [guaranteed regular place] and has been told by Howard and Donovan not to join us!

29 not going to happen!

Total B/S

I don't see him s being remotely suited to a pass and move team style.

I hope clint goes somewhere wlse not to us we need better and younger

Clint worth only on a free {Ed016's Note - if that, look what the "free" joe cole cost us}

03 Jun 2012 17:13:16
Luke de Jong off to Bayern Munich.

Zaraz

That would mean that Matias suarez is available

03 Jun 2012 16:55:01
Hi Eds
Just wondering what has happened with xherdan shaqiri. He looks like he will become a good little player and was linked with a host of clubs in January including us. It has gone quiet since then. Keep up the good work {Ed022's Note - He will join Bayern Munich.}

2 words -champions league

Talented player, but from what I've seen of him he plays with his head down and dwells on the ball too much. Very good player in a team where he's the main man, but I think he'll struggle at Bayern...

Joe

03 Jun 2012 15:42:51
Hi eds, just wonder if there is any chance of us getting Belhanda? {Ed022's Note - Unlikely mate.}

03 Jun 2012 15:42:51
hi eds, iv not seen much of luuk de jong, i was just wondering how good is he and are we likely to sign him and if so what sort of valuation fo fc twente have of him?
also is a move for demba ba a possibility?and if you were pushed into it who are the three players we are most likely to sign (i know the window is not properly opened and its too early to be sure of anything) {Ed022's Note - Www.player-profiles.co.uk - there is a profile on De Jong.}

03 Jun 2012 15:35:55
Word is that Brendan is going for siggurdson, clasie, mertens, boudabouz, de jong(luuk), none of them will cost the earth but all young technical footballers who fit his ideas. Maxi, spearing, adam and possibly downing will leave, if the club gets offers for Carroll they will consider them if they are reasonable, cole and aquilani may stay depending if the club gets offers or in aquilani's case if he doesn't want to stay at Liverpool...

He has been in 2 days sorted all his targets and now u know them. Well done mate well done. (does sarcasm come across well on here?)

Sisco

Well he isnt and Carroll is defiently staying put

5 Great young players there , would be great to get them , Must be the type of players FSG want with a resale value . We live in hope !

Since chelsea bought hazard,marin,de bryune and hulk.
Any chance for mata to move on?
Myabe to lfc?

No chance in hell

Yeah of course! Chelsea bought him last season for 23.5 million he's fitted right in and won an FA cup Champions league double.
All the signs are he'll move on!
On which planet?

Chris in Tamworth

I've just had an epiphany, lets get a petition going!

Stu.

Mata would want champions league, there is little/ no chance at all he would come too liverpool... thats a dream world

More like
drogba is gone - hulk in
Kalou - hazard
Malouda - marin
and de bruyne just because.

What Chris said, why would they sell pretty much their best player of the last year, have some sense before posting such rubbish on here!

Chelsea appear to be going for a bit of a Belgian theme next season. Hazard, Courtois (although I understand it is likely he will stay out on loan), de Bruyne, Lukaku etc. It's very interesting.

Euro 2012: Gary Cahill ruled out with fractured jaw

England defender Gary Cahill has been ruled out of Euro 2012 with a double fracture of his jaw.
Liverpool's Martin Kelly has been called up as his replacement, the Football Association have confirmed.

Absolutely gutted for Cahill but delighted for Kelly. Great to see so many Liverpool players in the squad

6th Liverpool player in the squad. very proud! All because of Kenny!

^ Liverpool players on the squad now . Can they be gelled into a winning unit next season ?

ENGAPOOL

Liverpools pre-season

My main concern is England are rubbish.
People keep saying that this is good for LFC, but it could equally be counter-productive. Hope not.

Joe

To see so many Liverpool players in the England squad is fantastic it is because of King Kenny Dalglish

03 Jun 2012 15:10:11
what is the reported transfer fee for Kuyt? Is it seriously less than 1m? Weren't there bids of 5-6m last year for him?

Sold for 1 mil

It says in excess of £1 million, but it is in his contract

Only 12 months left on his contract.
He's getting on.
He doesn't pass or cross well.

Purslow included a £1m release fee in his contract

Apart from his work rate what does he bring to the table really. Of course hes scored a few important goals but to b fair most strikers have. 50 odd league goals in 6 yrs? Hardly prolific. Ye he played alot out wide bla bla but really? I think hes been a exceptionally loyal servant to the club but should have gone a yr or 2 ago when we could have got a bit of cash for him. Just my opinion
Bulford-widnes ozy

It's not the fee but wages which is most important

Last year they bid 15... {Ed040's Note - I know for a fact that inter milan bid for him when Rafa was there but Dirk told the club that they could accept any offer, he was going nowhere}

03 Jun 2012 14:54:23
Hey eds great site btw. its says on sky sports we have agreed a fee of 1M for kuyt? Surely we could have got more for him?

Giant Gee {Ed001's Note - we probably could have, but it was about getting him a move he wanted, it is not always about the money.}

I agree mate but he went for 1.5m

Ed I do agree with what your saying, but it looks again like we've been had in the selling of a player? Cannot wait to see what silly price AA go's for? Why we pay top dollar!
Lee73

"not always about the money"

Why is Kuyt off to Turkey? A 3-yr deal at the age of 31... makes sense.
{Ed016's Note - Turkey has been a destination for players who are entering their twilight years. }

I think liverppool realise he has been a great servent and probably thought it wasnt worth jeapordising his move to a club he wanted to join for a bit more money

It was in kuyt's contract he could leave for 1 m for a foreign club {Ed022's Note - No it wasn't.}

Afraid I clicked 'believable' to this - my click was in fact for Eds answer

Puzzled

Why has that been stated earlier Ed022? Wasn't that a clause given to Kuyt under the Hodgson-regime?

1m in his contract as per his agent

03 Jun 2012 14:48:02
ed do you know of any clubs showing intrest in Thorgan Hazard, Edens younger brother? Ive heard he is meant to have better potential than his brother! cheers ed JF LFC {Ed001's Note - lots are keeping tabs on him. Spurs have been particularly interested in him for a very long time.}

Eden Hazard has described thorgan as better than himself. Probably less mouthy as well {Ed016's Note - Less of a money grabbing idiot too?}

03 Jun 2012 14:41:05
Just wondering if Brendan Rodgers would of concluded the Kuyt deal? Or have we got most of our team in that deals with the transfers?
Skurks {Ed001's Note - Rodgers would have had to OK it.}

Cheers Ed was just curious.
Skurks

03 Jun 2012 14:35:27
Clint dempsey and sigurdsson are said to be at the top of rodgers transfer list.
Clint dempsey could be available for as little as £4 Million, Which is good considering the season he had with fulham(21 goals last season) However arsenal maybe interested too. YNWA

Dempsey scores so much because he shoots all the time. His shots per goal ratio, I would imagine being s**t. He's greedy. {Ed001's Note - I am pretty sure that his ratio was better than Suarez's last season.}

These 2 wont bring us up to where we should be

Well said eds... suarez is most probably our best player

03 Jun 2012 14:27:06
Afternoon eds fellow reds , at least with Kuyt going we will either get a new striker or a right sided player ,which do you think eds .cheers psv {Ed001's Note - if it is Luuk De Jong, as was expected, he can play both positions.}

If we were to get Luuk De Jong though he should play up front i don't agree with playing a striker on the wing? {Ed001's Note - he has played as a winger many times, it is not really playing out of position.}

Hey ed i have never seen that guy luc de jong play is he fast -THE POPE {Ed001's Note - fairly quick, no Walcott, but no slouch either.}

De jong a bit slow to play right wing?

How cud he play both. He is so slow!

Think that we should give Raheem Sterling the chance to prove himself, Milos Krasic has been linked, but would Brendon Rodgers be interested though? And i think that we should try and buy Iker Munian, Fernando Llorente, Jermain Defoe or Lisandro Lopez?

New Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has put Gylfi Sigurdsson and Clint Dempsey at the top of his transfer wishlist.

I think we need a left wing and a striker, both established. We need players that will do the business to give the young players already in the squad the belief and a the winning mentality.

03 Jun 2012 14:26:16
hi eds, do u think liverpool can get theo walcott? hes a liverpool fan and apparently we were close to getting him before kenny was sacked? {Ed001's Note - I very much doubt Rodgers would want a player who shows no sign of being a professional footballer, but can run very fast.}

Best reply of the day Ed001! Quality, he is another OVER RATED english player, I believe we already have enough of them Big Mike

Walcott is awful? The whole season I recollect two game in which he played good.

Isn't Rodgers a self proclaimed educator of young footballers both on and off the pitch?

There are probably better wide players out there but 8 goals and 11 assists last year sounds good to me....! if Rodgers can turn his attitude around and teach him composure he would be a real asset there is no doubt out that, but yes whether he can turn the negatives round is an issue.

I'd like to see Theo Walcott {Ed001's Note - is that you Arsene?}

Whats your problem with walcott hes class an get his goals can take on players an a good cross can be taught stop talkin nonsense ed001 {Ed001's Note - haha he is class? Now who is talking nonsense? No wonder you didn't sign your post!}

The best response yet from an edd

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! So true, how is he ahead of Adam Johnson for the England squad.

Well said ED.Got it in a nut shell.If we wanted any Arsenal wide man,surely we would all prefer the OX.

I've heard people say they would like to see sinclair come to LFC and he is very similar to walcott if price is right i'd like walcott to join us

danny {Ed016's Note - Walcott is a "sprinter with a pair of football boots" to quote a fellow poster.}

Are you crazy ED0001! walcott-persie was the second most common assist-goal combo last season! he has developed a good final ball, walcott!

Im the one who posted walcott is class before and okay then so your saying walcott is s**t even tho he has ben in the england squad since he was 16 an even messi himself rates the lad hes still a kid an people see him as a established senior player for club an country he assisted van percy the whole season an van percy wouldn't have got half the goals if it wasnt for walcotts pace an bridling skills.... all you edds no f*** all and guess wrong constantly or dont report anything untill skysports have reported it an when there asked a question get snotty with people. your not in the no with anybody within liverpool or fsg you just have a website where liverpool fans can talk about rumours they have herd an share it with other fans the edds no nothing FACT an if you want to prove me wrong report some news or show me an old post where you got it right... witch you wont do because you cant your just a bunch of geeks with a god complex because a few mis guided fans believe you are in the no now post this on give me a cocky answer please i enjoy this web site because i like to listen to what fellow fans have to say but i hate the edds with a passion because they talk more s**t then the sun news paper and like i say are a bunch of no nothings that have a god complex you wont post this because you no people will agree adamlfc {Ed022's Note - Hello, my name is Ed022. I do not enjoy posters such as yourself, because you are what I describe as a moron. It is rather public that not all of the Eds are 'in the know' as people describe it, and many of us do not claim to be. We are here as moderators, to oversee posts and to edit them. Our other role is to answer questions when people direct them at us, and to give our opinions on matter. You clearly have some sort of infatuation with Theo Walcott as this matter has caused you a hissy fit, and that is never good. So allow me to ease the symptoms of such a paddy, Theo Walcott is an average player over-hyped by the media and that's it. You are without doubt, a very angry little boy with not much to do. If you enjoy this site so much, then I would advise you to keep your abuse to yourself, as if you continue you will no longer have the pleasure of using this site. It's as simple as that. We don't get paid for doing these websites, we are volunteers. Some of us work in football and decide to help out from an Internal Perspective so to speak, and others work as waiters - so why on earth should we put up with monotonous, self-obsessed idiotic posts that serve no purpose to the world other than to waste people's time. You have no idea how much crap we have to cut out on these site's and how much time we spend for these sites, so have some damn consideration rather than being a narrow minded buffoon. Thanks for playing.}

People are quick to say Walcott is overrated and he is but don't apply the same logic to Henderson and seem to be in denial about his lack of footballing ability

Lmao, how is Wallcot an average player??. Surely is he us average then Downing is a no body!!.. Walcott has more potential than Downing Will ever have in hi career!!. As te poster above said, 8 goals and 11 assists is better than Adam, Henderson and Downing combined!!. Brendan is a motivator. With Walcotts pace, if we tried him on the left wing where he could come inside we might have in great talent...

I think the editors and some posters have got Walcott right. I don't think he is as bad as the editors are saying but equally I don't think he is as good as what posters are saying. He is fast, his final ball has got better (though is still not great), he can take players with ease but his consistency is a big issue and against the best sides he rarely does well. On top of that he would cost a ton of money (in both wages and transfer fee) so really I would not like us to even try to sign him. He would be an improvement on the wing options we have but I still don't think he would be good enough.

Statistics do not prove much either as there is no context to them what so ever i.e. who did he score against, under what circumstances, who were the opposition, etc etc statistics landed us Downing and Adam - I hope Rodgers wont be using them as a guide for who to buy.

SMc

I still find it amazing how different people (football fans, no less) have hugely differing opinions on something so simple as football.

Context is key. FOOTBALL.

Walcott is average because more often than not, his touch is poor. His pace makes up for it most of the time, and sometimes, it actually works to his advantage because it takes him past a player and over 5 or 10 yards nobody will catch him.

When I watch him, I'm never confident he's ever fully got the ball under control (think Barnes or McManaman).

He's not bad, and with his pace he'll score and create goals. But he'd cost too much for what he offers.
And to answer an earlier post, not even the greatest manager in the world could teach someone a decent touch!

(also, to Ed022 - nice answer :-))

Joe

Oooooooooo...ed1 do i detect a large slice of sarcasm mixed with contempt?

dirk kuyt gone to fernabache

There goes one of the best servents LFC have ever had. I wish him all the best unless Fenerbache play Liverpool anytime soon.

Can believe we just sold Kuyt for 1 million. For that price i would keep him. iv read that West ham put a 4 million bid in for that grant holt who is the same age and crap. This is a joke. For all the clubs that were ment to be after him we couldnt get any more for him? Liverpool are not very good at agreeing transfer deals. Does anyone else agree with me that 1million is a sorry amount for him?Good luck though kuyt. Your a top bloke!

Like one of the eds sed! We werent looking for amazing amounts of money for him as if we were then a club such as anzhi macachkala or someone like them would be after him and tbh i think it would be disrespectful to sell someone who has served the pool aswell as dirk has to a club he doesnt wanna go to! It was all about finding the right club for the player on this one

Fenerbache have confirmed the signing of Dirk Kuyt to the turkish stock ecxchange...Thanks Eds

Jun 2012 14:11:29
Ed,is there a good chance that maxi,kuyt ans spearing will be moved on? {Ed002's Note - Maxi and Kuyt yes.}

Spearing won't but if he does only on loan

Ed002 do you think spearing will stay for another season {Ed002's Note - The manager will need to assess the players but I doubt he is on his way outjust yet.}

Oh please, spearing, he's rubbish

03 Jun 2012 14:10:40
hey eds/macca..
i know its early days with BR.. but is fabio borini a possibility or do you feel he will sign with roma permanently? i know we were linked with him last jan? or maybe last summer?.
anwyay love to hear your opinion on this
MrJimmy {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over Borini returning to play in Engand.}

03 Jun 2012 14:10:20
Ed,luk de jong(21), rameriez(22), bourdeux(22). In your humble opionion mate do you think we have a reasonable chance of signing these young quailty players?

Melbourne' {Ed002's Note - Possible, pretty unlikely, ?}

He probably means Ryad Boudebouz Ed002.

Just heard that dirk kuyt has signed a 3 year deal with fenerbache the fee is 1m

Of all clubs why them? he can still play at a better level than that.

Good servant for the pool, but don't think he would have suited rodgers style of play, good luck to him, wish him well y.n.w.a

Excellent sevant for the club,good luck dirk.

This is indeed true a bargain for fenerbache would def say kuyt is worth atleast 5 mil just for his work rate

Sad to see Dirk go, great servant to the club over the years, played in various positions and never really complained. But can see why at 31 he wont fit in with FSG's future plans. Good luck Dirk.

Good luck dirk

Hi Eds?
I'm addicted to this great site!,and i got 2 queries;
I)Is there any chance of signing those players?;

1.J.M.Vargas.
2.M.Diamé.
3.G.Sigurdsson.
4.R.Boudebouz.
5.L.De Jong.

II)Is there any team showing interested Carroll recently?.(hope he stays,but i fear that he doesn't fit BR style of play).
Great site by the way!!
YNWA {Ed002's Note - Possibly and not that I am aware.}

From the rumours websites and newspapers I think these 5 are probably the most likely at the moment and all reasonably priced. I think there is a chance of all. Also think that would improve the squad nicely with those 5.
top 4 here we come
Redjay

Think carrol would do well under rodgers, showed in the latter stages of the season he is good on the deck, gilfi, de jong would be good additions tho, think vargas has temperment issues tho would be a risk, not sure of his age either, might be on the wrong end of his 20's

Carroll would fit perfectly under Rodgers' reign. Rodgers plays 4-3-3 with two Centre Mids holding and one joining the attack. Lucas, Gerrard and Sigurdsson. With two out-and-out wingers like Swansea did, and a bigman who holds the line like they had with Graham. Suarez is the one who is most likely to go, I doubt he would like to play out wide. Can see us signing Adam Johnson, and one more winger. Also we'll use Raheem Sterling alot more. As soon as the 12 months are over, I think we'll buy Nathan Dyer. What do you think Eds? {Ed016's Note - I think Carrol could play in a Drogba type role yes. I am not too sure on Johnson, he was linked in the past and he isn't getting game time at Citeh. Not going to get Dyer. }

03 Jun 2012 13:44:45
BR: "I have already spoken to Huw Jenkins ... Swansea can be a great place for any young Liverpool player to go to."

Suso, Sterling, Coady, Flanagan, Robinson, any of these players would benefit from time at Swansea.

Send Jay Spearing, Jon Flanagan and Suso there, three players who show lots of potential.

Jay spearing ? Are you high ?!?

Suso, and coady

Hey the more I c that gylfi sigurdsson ? The more I really like young great shot scores goals oh he not english so he from not a great footballing country has not got flashly name no superstar tag but if was some one from EPL then he would be worth 20/25 million look at Andy carroll not a dig at big Andy just us as people who judge these people he really looks the part could be be very good team player your thoughts people wot the think

Eds, why are there so many people wanting Sturridge?

I get that he's an OK player, but He's a greedy little beggar and doesn't pass within 50 yards of the goal. I really don't think he's the sort of player we need.

Agreed, extremely over-rated

Wrong wrong swrong he is perfect {Ed001's Note - he is awful, great ability but completely the wrong attitude.}

We need people who can create goals and do something special unlike downing,maxi and at least kuyt has gone,we should have bought Sturridge instead of downing {Ed016's Note - Sturridge never passes the ball!}

03 Jun 2012 13:39:33
The club stated a while back suarez was not for sale.

Suarez himself said he was happy at our club and he was greatful to us for our support.

Also if he was being sold would brendan not have to agree to the sale,I think brendan would want to keep the best players at the club and suarez in my opinion is our best.

gee man

I agree but it about politices with saurez ,nothing else

When will people learn that it doesn't matter how much a club says someone is not for sale, or a player says how much he loves his club, that it makes absolutely no difference when it comes to players being sold.
Tom

03 Jun 2012 13:36:03
Sigurdsson, Jordy Clasie i believe are two great players that we should sign

Jordy Clasie maybe the player were looking to replace alonso with

Huh Alonso left three years ago?

Have we had a good season since?

I think what he's trying to imply is that we never managed to find a player who could match alonso's dynamic play and eye for a pass. Although we'll never find another Alonso it's clear we do desperately need another midfield maestro.

03 Jun 2012 13:35:03
Hi Eds,
Is there any team that has shown interest in Andy Carroll recently?
Good player with huge potential imo,but he lacks some key factors[pace,trickerly,etc...],to cut it in Brendan's style of play!

What do you think?
Budapest Red. {Ed002's Note - Nothing I know of recently.}

'lacks trickery' did you not watch the last 2 games against chelski lol. Step overs in the box to score in the final and less than a week later megging terry on the halfway line lol.

Carroll is boss! Took everyone (including himself) a while to realise it. As for this 'style of play' argument it's bs. Rodger's like the Barca philosophy yes? Well Barca used to play Ibrahimovic up front and went on to win La Liga thanks to 16 goals from the not so skillful big man. So stop chatting wham.

03 Jun 2012 13:34:53
heard dos santos was on his way to melwood

That aload of BS

It's a name of a night club somewhere,and no doubt he will be in it!

Right now he's playing (and scoring) for Mexico against Brazil in Dallas. However there's no Melwood there

03 Jun 2012 13:34:02
Hey Eds,

Do you think LFC will buy a marquee player?..and if so, how many do you think?

Thanks LDW. {Ed002's Note - It is an entirely subjective term. One man's marquee is another man's tent.}

Haha classic!

Fantastic response ed

Ed002 going off your reply I think you are two tense (spelling) that would be a marquee and a wigwam

Puzzled

I respectfully disagree ED. A marquee signing is someone the majority of fans would consider a big name signing, someone who has made a name for himself and is playing(or has been playing) at the top level. I think everyone would agree, Torres was a marquee signing and that Agger was not. Though both are (and were) great players. The question is if this is what we are looking for, if this is something that is realistic, and if this is the kind of players we are in the market for. Personally i think the term is irrelivant, as a 'marquee signing', doesn't guarantee quality, much like MOTD fever.

Only connection is that a marquee player would give most supporters a tent!

Best respond to I've ever read Ed002

03 Jun 2012 13:31:35
Marouane Fellaini to LFC is very close
non lfc related but Fraizer campbell to Fulham

Felliani would never ever sign for lfc

Everton will not sell him to us I assure you of that.
FowlerisGod

About half a mile i think you will find
were are you getting this tripe from

03 Jun 2012 13:15:09
Hi eds is there any chance of us getting Younes Belhanda? He is class and would fit in at lfc because with br as are new manager he will get us playing passing triangles and belhanda would be a great signing {Ed002's Note - There is confirmed interest in Belhanda from Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal and PSG and there is unconfirmed interest from Roma. The player says he wishes a move to Italy or Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Italy Germany is not possible (seems he is not really sure where he wants to move to). A price of 30M euros has been quoted by Montpellier.}

Will people shut up about belhanda we arent going to get him!!!

If there is one big signing that we are gonna make then i think this should be the one. His value could double in one season and is exactly the type of player we need to compete for the title.

Hi Eds, great job, keep it up.
Is it possible and logical to get these players by the end of the transfer market?

Adam Johnson
Afellay
Sigurdsson
Jordy Clasie
Jackson Martinez (or De Jong, as a Carroll serious backup)
+Cole and Aqua back

With Kuyt, Maxi and Spearing leaving the club. It could be a great summer ...

Eds I read somewhere that Suarez is the top selling shirt I know it doesn't mean anything but would the owners and the club see this as the fans wanting him to stay,thanks
Kp {Ed002's Note - No.}

I dont see how suarez being sold is going to benefit the club,Any club in world football would love him, Sure why dont we just sell our biggest asset on the field for peanuts like some of you have suggested,If Liverpools owners are wise suarez beig sold would be a massive step backwards, Why even consider it is beyond me unless they had a suitable replacement and how many strikers in world football can replace him i cant think of to many

gee man

03 Jun 2012 12:53:59
why don't we get clarence seedorf, he is on a free, he ould help develop players in the cdm position and also play a few games in the europa league. happy days. plus he is still class although very slow.
huddz red

Do you remember the 2007 final in Athens ?
Thnks.

Way past his best, too slow, would not get in our team, would command huge wages and would bring a large ego with him as well - he is the exact sort of player we should avoid at all costs.

Liverpool hasn't been lucky with wingers since mcmanaman. but our midfield was top except for the last 2 seasons. Strengthening the squad has to start from there. We shouldn't build the team around Gerrard anymore. it is about time he would feature as more like Scholes or Giggs role in the coming seasons. he can not be fit and inform for the whole season anymore, and to be honest its been a while since he had a descent shot at a goal from outside the box. A player that can replace him is Gatson Ramirez. a player who can score goals from the midfield and forms a link between the midfield and the strikers. I would like Gerrard to settle in midfield and distribute the balls.
The other midfield I like to see is Keita. strong, tall, can score goals etc. he had more games for Barcelona than yaya toure when the later was still playing there. I know he is old but he can bring that Barcelonanian experience, and winning mentality to the team.
Jay spearing is by no mile a Liverpool standard player. he is 24 now. it is not like he will develop into a world class player. Roy, Kenny, and fans have been kind on him because he is local and because he waited for many years to get that chance.
shelvy shows some promise and he has confidence. while he still believes in himself, he should be loaned out and get a regular premier league game. then when he turns out to be jack wilshere, we will have him back.

Gatson Ramirez, Keita in
Spearing and Shelvy out

miccmak

I agree with Ramirez but he's no replacement for Gerrard. Also, barcelonanian?!?!

The Midfield needs to be built around Lucas! Outstanding work rate, excellent tackler and very accurate passer of the ball... Gerrard can play alongside him, with cover coming from Hendo and Shelvey. Pacey wingers are a must.

Shelvys pure class what the hell would we be selling him for??????

Agree with Ramirez - he is top draw. Keita isn't good enough to be worth buying. We don't have a massive budget so all purchases must be as shrewd and effective as possible - if we had a lot more money then I would say he would be worth buying as a good squad player but at this moment in time I think his signing would be a bad move.

I agree with you on Spearing I don't think he is premiership standard. Shelvey should stay though - young, looks confident and can definitely provide suitable back-up to the first team and, if his development continues, push for a starting place.

03 Jun 2012 12:45:10
I think Clasie would be a good buy, considering he is young, has potential, as well as re-sale value if it doesnt work out. We desperately need a cover defensive midfielder.

Jordi clasie is a good up and coming skillfull , defensive midfielder , who also can score goals , he is being talked about as the young dutch xabi , it seems br has been interested in him in the past ? he has proved himslef in holland , and would be able to fit into br tiki taka play

03 Jun 2012 12:40:04
Eds, what are the chances of perhaps getting A.Johnson and Sturridge? {Ed002's Note - Very, very low indeed.}

Why would we want these two?You can only play with one ball on the pitch,and these two hold on to it and don't give it to anyone else.

03 Jun 2012 12:37:44
Hi Eds,
Great job on the site. Q. How much , if they were to sell, would the owners accept for Suarez.? Personally I would keep him but football is football. Also who do you see leaving the club this summer ...Kuyt, etc?
Thanks in advance nm
{Ed002's Note - I really don't know how much Suarez would cost to buy.}

I can tell you that Juve were not willing to pay over 30m for him if that helps?

They are not interested anymore though

People say Carroll is not going to fit into Rogers plans as he plays great pass move tika taka football but what if the game is nil all on the 70 or 80 minute and we cannot break down the opposition defence h m ? There we have the perfect plan b in Carroll

{Ed006's Note - We didn't pay £35m for a plan B, Carroll is staying and he is going to be class.}

Defiently even Rodgers said it himself Carroll is certainly staying put and he is turning into a quality playeru

I do see Carrol to improve in some ways but I don't believe he will fit into the tiki taka style of play

{Ed006's Note - You have read too many articles mate, see what happens next season.}

Ok, who let big andy's mum be an editor??
huddz red

{Ed006's Note - Haha, trust me though he will be a top player. Yours Truly Mrs Carroll.}

Dont forget he is improving and he is only 23 so he still has a lot to learn

Pass n move does not mean u can only use small, agile, quick players. tbh i dont see a problem, carroll will still fit in.

Kaizer

Nice one ed, i too believe that Andy Carroll will come good, people look at his price tag far too much, its the same with Henderson. You do not lose class, and Andy Carroll has it, not in the same style as Torres, Henry, Villa, Aguero, he is more in the mould of Drogba, a big strong bull of a player with the ability to hold off his man and smash a ball in. Get behind him.
And not fit in to the style, have you seen Swansea, Danny Graham creates space in the box for the likes of Sigurdsson, Sinclair, Routledge and Allen to get in, thats exactly what Carrol can do. Play a ball into feet or to his head, he will draw his man and then play in/ lay off the likes of Gerrard, Adam, Henderson, Suarez, Sigurdsson? De Jong?

Anfield Andy

What really frustrates me is that just because Carroll is 6ft3in or whatever he is, people think all he's good for is aerial duels. People don't seem to realise just how much he has improved for us this season when the balls gone into his feet. Carroll will be amazing one day, and I really hope Rodgers keeps faith in him.

He's crap, one of the worst footballers ive ever seen. what have you seen in him that makes you think he's gonna be class? he's slow, got a poor touch, and couldnt hit a pigs arse with a shovel, get rid of him and move on. YNWA

Class is right people are just dumb the man is a beast

No he isn't crap, is you have nothing nice to say don't saying anything at all. He has been proved quicker than we have previously expected and when you look at his chance/goal ratio at newcastle it proves how good a finisher he really is. all he really needs is a string of goals. And i bet you, you were calling lucas s**t before he sprung up? Get behind him! YNWA

Sure other players fit in that style of play like athletico bilbaos foreward llorente.
derryred

Agree with the ed

I really wanna see carroll do well but i get the feeling that his recent run of good form is cuz of that extra 10% of effort hes been putting in. If thats the case then why couldnt he do that earlier in the season when everyone was taking the mick outta lfc for signing him? Seems a bit dodgy to me :/

Can't believe Andy Carroll is Plan B - he looks a lot smaller in his music videos!!

Yes good ploy,getting plan B on to play a few numbers to distract the other team,while we go stick a few in the net!Only gunna work at home mind!

Yeah, I'm sure Carroll would just love that plan. Keep Suarez please or you're goin backwards as a club

Finally someone had the guts to say it. Thumbs up, ED006!

Ibrahim Afellay, I know he has injury problems but sometimes if a player is really good, you have to take a risk. I think this is probably the first time for Van persi to play a full season at Arsenal. if I am wrong, it is because I can't remember him having one. or look at Ben Afra, no one could touch him last year this time. Affellay has that quality to change games, score goals, create chances etc. he is a quality player. and 6mil, despite his injury history is still a bargain. what do you think ?

miccmak

{Ed006's Note - A player I have admired for a while, Liverpool have no chance of signing him.}

How come ? because of champions league football or because he doesn't like English football ? he is available as I hear.

Especially if Txiki Bergiristain become technical director, we may have a better chance of signing these kind of players

miccmak

Who is tiki burgerpan

Ben Arfa is hardly injury prone, Nigel deJong broke his leg with a filthy tackle

03 Jun 2012 12:27:05
I would say that there will be 6 signings in the summer(more if players leave). I would say that BR will bring in 2 cm, 2 wingers(pacey), and 2 strikers(definate goalscorers) for me one striker would have to be huntelaar. What doyou think eds?
pato108

{Ed006's Note - 2 CMs? I highly doubt that if either Aquilani or Cole stay, if Spearing leaves then hopefully Sigurrson will sign. Wingers are only likely if Kuyt and Maxi leave and not a chance 2 strikers, 1 at most, Huntelaar would be good but we have no chance.}

03 Jun 2012 12:24:01
my mate who works at Anfield told me that Andy Carroll is definately leaving liverpool for 10-20 million. He said there is interest from 1 pl club, and spain and italy.
YNWA

Just the £10,000,000 +or- !!

So he's a steward in the know? Of course

Do you really think the club will sell carrol loosing 20 million? Stop posting bull

Yeh good 1,we buy him for 35mil and sell him for 10-15mil.plus hes young.fool

We'd be lucky if we got an offer of 5m for him seriously, theres no top club would want him, dalglish was a mug to pay 35m for him, needs his head examined, he was never all that impressive for newcastle even, poor poor player. did you see him playing for england alongside ashley young? which one of those was the footballer there, and carried a goal threat, it most certainly wasnt carroll...forget about him

Yeah man u fan are we mate you fool !!

Your a clown mate

Suport your man.carroll will have a great euro and is atop player.he is still aboy and needs supporters encouragement and guidance-not constant negativaty

Therte is no way that Liverpool will be selling carroll. He is going to have a brilliant Euro's to fire him into next season for LFC.

10 - 20 million not much difference there then.
By the way your mate must be lying to you about where he works
Punked me thinks

If you check Ed001 prediction record, I think it's safe to say that Luis Suarez will definitely be at Liverpool for years to come!

I really hope so.
Skurks

Suarez will either be here next season, or (more likely) he won't. He's a great player but he's not bigger than the club. Liverpool will survive either way. Having a pop at the eds seems utterly pointless.

Owen and maybe Guthrie but Heskey? Come on mate

This isnt the jokes of the day page you know?

You have no idea about football if you would happily have this players back, maybe ten years ago! Murphy is still a good squad player but not for us! and as for owen! he done the dirty on us when he signed for Utd no chance what so ever you clown! Big Mike

What are you thinking? Glory days? with that old tripe? muppet

Haha you dream on pal

Total garb---- it would cost too much in crutches, zimmer frames, and wheelchairs!

Stevan Jovetic, has come out and said he wants to leave,will me make bit for him, ed?
Ratan {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely. Arsenal did show previous interest, but Roma, Chelsea and Napoli remain interested if and when he becomes available if the price is acceptable.}

Jovetic will not be at liverpool. I'd be extremely surprised if any transfer between the two clubs happened.

How About Sturridge as he will probably want first team football and considering that Hazard and Hulk are coming in. There probably won't be any starting places for him. What do you think on this? {Ed002's Note - If Sturridge wishes to leave Chelsea will not stand in his way.}

Rodgers will never go for a player like Sturridge, he is too ball greedy for his playing philosphy
Ciario

Dont want him little s**t

Sturridge is a good player with a lot of skill, he just missed a thing in training. He never quite learnt how to pass the ball!

If Sturridge wishes to leave Chelsea to join Liverpool, I will stand in his way. I think Welbeck being picked for England while Sturridge is not, is enough to show that he is not good enough.

Kaizer

We pay 5m for the manager to reintroduce pass and move.... and we go and buy strurridge who knows nothing of passing. that is some tactic you have there

Bear in mind that if, and thats a big if, Sturridge were to leave Chelsea he would command a transfer fee in the same region as was paid for Downing.Probably would be the total transfer budget

hi ed there were a few rumours for the winger from barca Ibrahim Afellay and he scored 2 good goals last night , would do a good job on the right and can score as well

Against 1 of the worse teams in the world northern ireland.

edd are we watching jordi classie? hope so , i watched feyenoord v ajax on espn a while back, he was far better looking than ericken on the day(one game i know) , he looks gr8 in the tackle n his distribution is brilliant(again dutch lge i know) , i suppose he would fit in to all things at lfc young n gr8 passer n energy to burn, add him n siggurdson n we would improve around midfield ,
5gold stars {Ed001's Note - we have certainly had Feyenoord watched a few times, I don't know if he was the target, it would make sense to have watched him a few times as there were fears over his strength. The difficulty is that Rodgers will also have his own ideas for targets to add to those we have had watched. So it is difficult to have any real idea of who we will want, until moves are made, as we don't even have any matches ongoing to have scouts watching.}

Ed i know it could be bs but the article that linked us with Claise said that he was a player Brendan wanted at Swansea but couldnt attract and now Brendans at a big club he will try and get him!?

{Ed006's Note - Sorry I have no idea who this player is.}

Its the same player the original poster asked anout Jordy Claise! {Ed001's Note - different editor replied mate. I know of him because a lot of English clubs looked at him and decided he lacked the strength for the English leagues. It is one of my bugbears about England, that we seem to emphasise strength over ability.}

Do we have any chance on Kevin Strootman and Christan Erikssen?

I think they are some of most talented evropean midfielders, so I'd be really happy if BR thinks in this direction :))

Not too sure? Strootman is a possibility? but not eriksen, hes a spurs fan and said other than spurs he'd play for man utd, with spurs doing business with ajax over vertongahn their was talk of a double swoop with eriksen moving as well, although it seems spurs are more interested in mertens & dembele for their midfield, so eriksen could become an option but I'm sure he wouldn't want to join us?

Hi Eds, I know the haters won't want it but is their a chance Michael Owen could return? I know the past actions left their mark but the past is the past. I noticed he's been quoted speaking highly of BRs appointment and just wondered... {Ed040's Note - There is next to no chance of Owen coming back

There's more chance of my nan being in goal for us next season!

Who on earth would want that wasted piece of mank tripe back. He showed his colours mate and they aint lfc red!!

Ian Rush would probably play more games

Have you been at the mushrooms or something what a sugestion whats next bruno cheyroux ha michael owen

Show some respect micky owen can go be a stable boy for all i care a insult to lfc

Ed if Suarez was to leave who do you think Liverpool will look to replace him with Ramirez possibly plus Munian although I think they will try and sign him anyway {Ed001's Note - I wouldn't see either of those as replacements for Suarez, they are both midfielders. I would expect us to target a striker, not sure who, I would expect one to join anyway, so it will mean 2 strikers this summer. I think it is most likely that we will finally turn our interest in Luuk De Jong into a firm bid.}

But I don't really see Suarez as out and out striker he needs someone to play around not a proper number 10 but something similar abut like Rooney or lavvexi

Suarez is the best dont want to c him go anywhere .... bag

Brendan Rogers confirms his interest in bringing Sigurdsson to Liverpool.

Is this legit ed? its in quotes so you would think so but you never know {Ed040's Note - It's legit but he will wait to see if he rejects Swansea first}

Hi eds,
Do u think Suarez is on his way out
Thanks
Scousered {Ed001's Note - probably, there is a lot of interest in him from clubs with a lot of money to spend.}

Really do you think Suarez will be sold ed? Is this from information or just a gut feeling? I really hope they don't sell without sufficient replacement. What are the chances of him going? What clubs are interested? {Ed040's Note - Much depends on whether he wants to leave (which he doesn't) so i'd say no he won't be leaving. As for who is interested in him the answer is everyone he's a quality player if a crazy offer comes in from Madrid, Braca, Malaga, PSG etc then we would seriously consider it}

I really hope not we find it hard to get a player of his quality and magic back.
What are the owners doing?

Ed do you think fourty million would be a realistic fee with the money psg and palermo have? {ed040's note - realistic in what way? psg could certainly afford it and we would almost certainly accept it (if he wanted to leave)}

.... off loser

Liverpool owners are a disgrace if they sell him. Whats worse everyone just seems to be accepting it.

Relax, I dont think he will leave. I know that at Juve they were very keen until they were informed that Suarez has said that he will not be leaving unless he is forced out, which FSG wont do as it will decrease his transfer value. Juve dont think they could persuade him...perhaps they could bribe him though?

Nevada

Why start this nonsense, how many times has he to say he is staying for people to believe him. {Ed001's Note - but it might not be his choice, certainly won't be if we get a decent offer.}

New Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted he is ready to snatch Gylfi Sigurdsson from under the noses of old club Swansea according to SSN

Don't tell half the story! He has said he will allow Swansea first refusal!

Happy with that :)
He looked good after coming in in Jan

Ed did Liverpool ever have a serious interest in Eden hazard

Thanks {Ed001's Note - we certainly looked at him, Roy was telling the truth when he said he went to watch him, after he was recommended to him. His price was out of our reach at that time though.}

Shame :(

Little bird tells me PSG have offered 30 million for Suarez, personally I would take it and use funds for proven goalscorer.

What are you on about why would you sell Suarez

He is a proven goalscorer....

Suarez is a proven goal scorer for every club Ye has been with including his national team. We need better players in midfield to compliment him as he is doing the work of someone that should be an Attacking MIdfielder

Proven goal scorer like ........

Exactly when players see us selling players like Suarez they will be even less likely to come

Please define who is a "proven" goal scorer ... Torres was until the worl cup , suarez was too , just dat he hit the post a zillion times and was a bit unlucky... RVP wasn't a few season's back ; so wasn't the great Ian rush in his first liverpool season ... jeez u guys make me laugh ... suarez is suarez.. clubs are dying to get him...

He is a good player and worth more than 30mil in the current climate i.e new clubs with money in the champions league , i would let him go as he is unpredictable and the games he missed last season because of his suspension caused major problems (which were not all is fault but the team needed him) we can do a lot with the money , better value than what we got last season please.

Suarez is one of the best strikers in the world if we sell him its disgusting

We need a brilliant forward just as good as Suarez to partner Suarez, to get more out of Suarez. Since Dalglish and Rush, we've never had 2 assassins

Bite their hand off

And who would that proven goalscorer be

03 Jun 2012 09:03:20
Three players wanted one of them will be Gylfi.
The hat.

Rodgers just said he will try and steal him from swansea on sky sports news online

So you read the Daily Star. Good for you.

Don't think we really need him but at his age and price it is a very good deal

I would like Munian no matter what the price as he will be a superstar and a top striker as well as Lukk de Jong to replace kuyt but wouldn't mind that rumoured swap with Vargas

This is a bit vague haha. You gonna wait till a new name comes up on SSN before telling us?

54D13R

A striker would be nice

The other two are dempsey and joe allen

I never said it was my rumour just passing on what I've read and using common sence.
The hat.

Hi eds

I know that you have been saying that suarez is most prob leaving the club because the owners isn't happy about the "racism" thing but do you think that they will change their mind? And if not does Suarez actually know they are not happy? Or does he just presume that they want to keep him because he's our key player and rips through everyone's defence

Thaaaaanks :)) {Ed001's Note - I think it really depends on the offers received, as I have said all along, they will only sell him for the right price.}

Alright thank you :) just one more actually 2 more questions what do you think is the right price? And do you think we will be able to attract another player of his standard with no champions league {Ed001's Note - it would have to be for a decent profit. Yes, we got him without Champions League.}

Ed in your opinion what is the right price for me it is 45 million plus

Sell him to Malaga PSG Anzhi etc {Ed001's Note - except that you have to cut the price to reflect the amount of games he has missed through suspension. I would hope for 45m plus, but I think we would have to accept 35m+ in reality.}

..... If we here on this page are certain the owners aren't happy, I'm pretty sure Suarez would know

54D13R

The right price will come in but we have to get the right price for the players we want , this will be hard as when teams see you have just got a decent price for your very GOOD player they want the money for their AVERAGE player.Red Mick Tag

Why do you idiots still go on about Suarez being sold it ain't gonna happen {Ed016's Note - IF A GOOD OFFER COMES IN THEN THEY WILL ACCEPT IT}

If FSG sell Suarez they will be committing suicide. Sacking Dalglish and then selling their best player. The fans will turn on the Yanks big time i can assure you of that.

Disgraceful comments by all. Talking about a player we should be supporting. He's our best player by far

Dont think so otherwise y would he be advertising the new kits for next season. unless we get a rediculous off suarez isnt going no where!

03 Jun 2012 08:04:39
are we interested in de jong ?

Which one? Luuk de Jong yes very intrested, if its the manc de jong then... I have no idea

Luuk looks good and I wouldn't mind Nigel too

Jordy Clasie apperantly 1st or 2nd signing along with sigurdsson

Jpow_LFC

Never heard of him :/ who does he play for?

He plays for Feyenoord hes a small kid 20 years of age i belive he is a small kid reminds me of a really talented spearing. hes been nicknamed the "dutch xavi"

He's rather more talented that Spearing. He tackles like a terrier. And passes like Xavi. This lad is going to be a superstar. Whether we get him though, is another matter. I can see him wanted by EVERYONE.

03 Jun 2012 06:31:11
Liverpool are looking at the young midfield schemer Jordy Clasie of Feyenoord.

Also a bid for Gylfi Sigurdsson is widely expected but as of now there is no substance to it, mostly people putting 2 and 2 together. Doesn't mean it's out of the question.

Expect Adam to be moved on.

Nico

You haven't heard Rodgers comments have you

Weren't known to me as I typed. Now I have it's a very strong possibility. I can only assume his preference would be Liverpool over Swansea, mainly down to Brendan and also the fact we are LFC. He will still hold discussions with Swansea but I think the decision is obvious for him.

Nico

Hi eds, gotze? Have we got any chance in getting him this summer? Got a feeling he is gunna hav a great euro n then everyone will want him. Do u think Adam Johnson is possible also? Thanks {Ed005's Note - No chance, why would he leave Dortmund at the moment when they are in the CL and Bundesliga Champions?}

Adam Johnson is a possibility
