sly understands former Swansea star Gylfi Sigurdsson is poised to seal his move to Tottenham in the next 24 hours.

We hear this same rumour EVERY 24 hours. Sick to the back teeth of it. Let him move. Just stop with the 24 hours crap.

Please post on spurs page

You just read it off sly

Everybody and his dog knows that !

Hello ed's. Do we still maintain an intrest in Milos Krasic as the rumours seem to have died down. Personally think he would be a great addition to the team!

Cheers

Big T {Ed001's Note - it was more Juve had an interest in us taking him as part ex.}

Absolutely in agreement with the editor on this one. They have tried to sign Van Persie on the cheap and that didn't work out & now they are trying to do the same with Suarez. When they realise this will not work they will soon move on!!

Hi Ed's, will Pacheco return for pre season? Surely he is a player BR can use if we can sort the issue's out?

Red Grand {Ed002's Note - Time to ecide one way or another. I suspect he will go.}

I hope he stays, he has great potenial...

Dani is back in Liverpool

He said he is on his way back to liverpool. what he does from there is another thing

Hope he stays and gets games next season,i think he will stay seen on his twitter hes back

Can i ask wear all the questions on Pacheco are coming from? was their a falling out of some sort that i don't know about? i know about the Johnson thing but is their more to it? as far as i was concerned he went back to Spain on loan so why would we not be expecting him back?

That's what u said with Suarez

Hardly his attitude stinks. why want him back? none of the best footballers get there if there attitude isn't 100%.

Hi, There was a lot on Jackson Martinez a while back. Are we still after him? {Ed002's Note - He is going to join Porto.}

I thought there was talk of a up front payment made for him ! :)

Dear eds,
Is ivan rakitic on our radar? Would he be a possibility?
Thanx {Ed042's Note - no idea mate}

Hmm sounds like a made up character from Rockie?

Hello All!

Let's have a little realism people. Cavani won't sign for us. Alonso won't sign for us, well he may in the future. Rodgers has said today we are looking to make 3 or 4 transfers. Thinking logically, that'll be probably an Attacking Midfielder (Hence attempts to sign Siggurdson), Striker, Wide man, Defensive cover? Anyhow, we need to think viable targets.

Siggurdson, although looks like he is heading to Spurs would be a viable target. As would Ba, although I believe that is just rumours. Ramirez is viable. Dempsey is viable. Not too sure the extent of this Swansea agreement. I wouldn't be surprised if Rodgers looked to Swansea for a player. I believe we will be more careful with our business this summer and won't pay over the odds. But I feel money is available.

It's 3 days in. Relax. Exciting times. YNWA.

Really can't see why brendan would look at demba ba is ability on the ball isn't exactly easy on the eye however he does know where the goal is but I think Suarez will score a lot more goals this season and hope AC gets a good run of games, I would like to see joe Allen come in and maybe wingers like tello or perhaps someone like affellay or hoilett, what's the chances eds? Doing a great job keep it up

Allen lol?
Henderson is twice the player....

Well you obv don't appreciate a good footballer when you see one if that's your opinion then mate

So joe allen come in. will he replace
a) lucas
b) gerrard or
c) hendo, of whom we have already invested in both financialy and timewise. i don't see it happening.
demba ba is good but aren't his knees bad ? i agree with you but that i would like to maybe see a good winger come in. hope this is another good window.

Ed
What are the chances of Liverpool signing Adam Johnson {Ed042's Note - it is possible, at the right price...}

Posted a couple months back that we were very interested in AJ according to one of Man City's youth team coaches. Now that Kenny's gone not sure BR will spend the £15 million required to sign him. I wouldn't want the club to pay more than £8-10 million for him.

Love to see him here if he was available,but would we be his prefered choice as he would have pick of clubs

03 Jul 2012 19:08:29
Hi Eds, love the site, do you know of any interest in Wigans James Mc Cathy? He can obviously play the system required by BR and looks like a version of Roy Keane (without the manc bit of course!) Cheers. {Ed042's Note - he interested us before he joined wigan. don't know of any interest right now.}

Why we have shelvey and henderson who are both better

A great young player...Wigan previously stated bidding for him starts at 15m which may be too much for us...Wigan are now wanting 12m for Moses so the valuation on McCarthy would probably still be the same if not higher...from what I've seen, there is no way we can say Shelvey or Henderson are better than McCarthy...

Hi Eds
any idea when Lucas will be fit to play? maybe September or October ? or is that a bit optimistic. Thanks Royzered {Ed042's Note - he should be fit for pre season, fingers crossed}

He has just tweeted that he is back in Liverpool!
Almost like a new signing!
ItsNotRocketScience

Which starts 2mro

Who would have thought 2 years ago just how important Lucas would become to the reds lets just hope Carroll, hendo, and dare I say it downing are all late bloomers just like Lucas and become as reliable and important! Great to hear Lucas is back and maybe im being slightly optimistic but really looking forward to the new season and to what BR brings!

Hello eds- Would koke from athletico Madrid be available at the righ price or is it a non starter? Think he is the right kind of young talented player Liverpool need?

K-man {Ed042's Note - honestly don't know.}

You know hes a good talent but dont know wether hes a starter or not but well spotted he is good on fifa..lads dont waste time asking about people because his virtual self scored a goal in your "dream team" come on

‎"This is a new era for Milan," said Pier Silvio Berlusconi.

"We will continue to get younger while maintaining the culture. Milan still has its superstars.

"As a future target I'd like Andy Carroll. I must admit that for his body build, and after seeing his header in the Euros, I would like to have Carroll at Milan."

Bullsh*t, are u sure u didnt pull that quote out of your arse??

Theres something frighteningly worrying going on in don silvios phrase of term,i just wonder if he may of been misquoted if not looks like andy could be in a spot of bother,sinister silvio lewd liasons tut tut.

It's actually a genuine quote. Google it, there are various journalists reporting this. I doubt the Milan management would share the same view lol.

The quote is definitely true. Its Berlusconi's son though

Ok...at the risk of sounding melodramatic...here goes!!

This is a CRITICALLY important season for LFC [note how 'critically' is capitalized to symbolize importance and urgency...:)]. Depending on how well or how poorly we fare, the fallout of this upcoming season will extend well beyond 2012/2013.

The reality is that LFC has been a sinking ship for many years--the trend is undeniable: we have been steadily descending--albeit slowly and painfully--to the point where we are now facing the very real danger of slipping below the surface. LFC and its fans have been far too complacent living on its brand and on its storied history for well over 20 years...and in recent times, our desperate attempts to cling to the past have only intensified.

The truth hurts but, let's face it:

i) can we really still lay claim to being a 'big' club or even one of the 'big four'?...our status is questionable in the EPL...to say nothing of where we stand on the continent or globally
ii) as much as I wish this wasn't the case, LFC is an afterthought for many of the name players that are on the move (as a barometer, compare the names linked to LFC today relative to even five years ago. I realize being 'linked' is not necessarily the same as who we end up signing but, it does suggest a worrying trend.)
iii) LFC is now defined by middling results which is INEXCUSABLE. No longer a serious threat to qualify for the Champions League. Gone is the fear factor of a visit to Anfield--it used to be visiting teams were beaten before the game was even played. Gone is the inclusion of LFC as one of the big fixtures teams would mark down on their calendar. In fact, many of the 'second' tier clubs are taunting us...they certainly couldn't get enough of us last year.
iv) management [from ownership PRIOR to FSG (it's unfair to judge FSG at this point), to the suits who ran the club, to on field management, to the scouting staff (who have not borne enough of the blame in my estimation)] has been an utter disgrace--what a bumbling, stumbling, incompetent bunch
v) the allocation of limited and precious financial resources for on field 'talent' has been pathetic (Carroll, Henderson, Adam to name three)--if the finances of a public corporation were mismanaged in the same way as the finances of LFC, its shareholders would have fled years ago

In my opinion, LFC has exhausted all of its excuses and has drawn too many times on its glorious past to rationalize away its poor results in recent times.

Make no mistake about it...LFC is on the precipice. If we fail to improve markedly this year, I fear the worst for this once mighty club. Remember, the results from the second half of last year would have seen us relegated...and this was AFTER the new players had had a run of games together and should have shown signs of gelling...not regressing. Forget about challenging for the title or a CL spot...we will be hard pressed to remain in the top-half of the league...and dare I say it...in the EPL at all. Unthinkable I know but, it is a reality we are staring in the face

The thing is poor results feed on itself: it becomes more difficult to attract sponsors which limits available funds (whether for players or reducing debt or as an income stream), the quality players look past us to contending teams and the inability to bring in better talent dooms us to further poor results. We have witnessed exactly this turn of events over the past few seasons. The fear now, is this negative trend picking up speed. I don't need to tell you how incredibly difficult it is to break this downward cycle.

This is why I place so much emphasis on this season—the longer and farther we slip, the more daunting the task becomes to staunch the wound.

The good news is that momentum does not only flow in one direction—it can be positive just as easily as it can be negative. So, despite my doom and gloom (by the way, my nickname is 'Mr. Sunshine')...LFC does have a chance to right the ship but, it is working on an extremely thin margin for error and time is of the essence.

What is the solution?...a shrewd and skillful scouting staff and management team that nail the really important decisions or...we get really, really, really lucky. I suggest the former option is a more reliable bet:

i) Let's first steady the ship. It is vitally important, LFC keep the backbone of the club together. This means, it is imperative they get the buy-in of the likes of Suarez and Skertel. Of course, Captain Fantastic is already on board.
ii) LFC need to then make a bold statement of intent by signing some QUALITY players to address the glaring deficiencies of this team...and we all know what they are. 'Quality' is not necessarily synonymous with the most expensive player or the biggest name out there. It does mean however, the scouting staff needs to uncover a couple of hidden gems. The good news is that LFC does not need a complete overhaul--three or four impact players would make all the difference in the world.

I gotta say...so far, the names to whom LFC has been tied in this transfer window do nothing to instill a great deal of optimism that this season will allow us to step back from the precipice...more like one foot over the cliff to these eyes...but, for now, I will suspend judgment because any names mentioned are just speculation.

iii) Management--on all levels and in all capacities--need to get it right in terms of running the team and getting the desired results and restoring the pride of playing for LFC. Just win...end of!

Assuming you survived this post, you may find it hard to believe that I actually have faith FSG and BR will right the good ship LFC and steam ahead but...and it is an enormous butt... a lot rests on the results of this year to begin the turnaround. We need significant improvement--no excuses and no other result is acceptable.

This is not just another season for LFC...it is far, far, far more important than that!

I rest my case!

Fantastic post. Best one i've read in a long, long time.

Great post.

Excellent piece, truthful yet optimistic! I am of an extremely similar belief however I think the heritage that comes with Liverpool would never lead to us being much further away than where we have been in recent times! I genuinley believe the decline is all but reached its destination and the incline is imminent. Great piece

Well said mate! It is time to step up as a club.
Will the real LFC Please Stand Up

South African YNWA

I agree with everything you say and firmly believe that Brendan will get us there. Although, I don't think that if we did worse than 11/12 this season that it'd be a catastrophe, because the night is darkest just before the dawn. I have so much belief that this guy will die before he let's the club fall. He is going to get angry if players let him down and they will fear and respect him for it, or they will not play and look like Carlos Tevez.

Like everyone who comes here, I'm DYING to find out who we'll sign! YNWA

SuperDuperSuarez

Hehe, he said enormous butt ;) haha but anyways man I agree with you , transfers wise like you said that we are going to have trouble attracting well known talents, therefore we should take this scenario the way Newcastle have, finding gems of players that don't have huge contract demands and egos, it will be hard to do yes I know, but this is what we must do!! Cheers YNWA !!

Class post. Eloquent and well thought out.
Time will tell, but we should dare to believe that we have turned a corner, and have a manager and owners that will shake off the cobwebs of too many years of mediocrity. But you're right, the next 10 months may just be the most crucial in LFC history.

Whilst i agree with most of your post , we were 30 odd shots against the woodwork away from havin good season last term , so its not all doom and gloom 2 finals etc ...and players kenny brought in seemed good signins to most ! they will find the shirt a lot lighter this season all things bein equal , It kills me to say that kenny was lookin a bit weary the more the season went on and his interviews were becomin more cringe worthy by the day so a change was inevitable , I dont think brendan or mouhrino or avb would be the answer in this financial market or anybody else for that matter ....But we have to hope that brendan has the plan and style to use what we have and a few additions to take us back to the top or near the top ...keep the faith ynwa

I totally agree and I am very scared !

Excellent Post. I couldn't agree more with the sentiments expressed. Good to see a thoughtful, well- written postlike that.

Wow - a very good and accurate post!

Great post. That's what I feel too!

Marc

Some good points , but a bit long winded , and a bit too domesday , we all know we got to improve , but we also know its a 5 year plan , and we got 4 more years , all id like to add is , i would like the owners to back us with more cash tbh , KD only had net spend of £23 million , and FSG spent $350 million on 2 baseball players that year ? we need more investment in quality players , im hopefull with BR , and am looking forward to start of the new season . { foot note glad AVB went to spurs and not us , he hasnt got a clue , is arrogant , and i feel sorry for spurs loosing harry for him }

I agree with certain points in your post but FSG have got us a club record sponsership deal with standard chartered and the same goes for warrior sports so in that department we are competing at the top level and all REDS out there please dont have a negative attitude going into the season ahead i tink we will sign some big players the LFC brand still has a huge pull and we can offer the wages to compete.

The red sox had the biggest wage bill in baseball FSG will invest in talent this was kennys biggest downfall and look at what happened FSG are ruthless and have displayed that already...

Finally you make me laugh RELEGATION?? we have never been out of the top flight and never will we are LIVERPOOL FC the greatest club on this planet with the greatest fans on the planet FACT!

Check the history if the club dub red. We were in the second division wen shanks took over

THAT... my friend¦ is the best post I have read on this site... EVER! Optimistic, but realistic. As Liverpool supporters, we've all been down this road many times before, false dawns, broken promises, etc, etc. BUT, as I look back at the history of the clubs that have finished as Champions over the last 10 to 15 years, most, if not ALL of them have had long bleak periods of nothingness, before they found the right mix of: 1-Owners, 2-Scouts, 3-Players, 4-Manager. When these all click, by god, it can be exciting... and make no mistake people, WE WILL reach that point again. It's only a question of WHEN, not IF, LFC rise again. Have faith in Brendan Rodgers and FSG as I think we have the right Manager AND the right owners, that's 2 pieces of the master plan in place. And remember... "All Good Things Come To Those Who Wait"

Stevie.

Of course we're still a big club. That bit was ridiculous. There's no chance we'll be relegated either. Apart from those, very good post.

While I “ and probably most other Liverpool fans - agree with what you say I think that doing and saying are two very different things. Saying that the solution is a a shrewd and skillful scouting staff and management team that nail the really important decisions¯ is almost self evident, and I doubt that anyone in charge of the club now, or in the past, would disagree. But actually getting this done is another thing altogether. Who would you suggest to fill the posts in this scouting staff and management team? What are the really important decisions¯? And you make it sound as though uncovering a couple of hidden gems¯ is straightforward. How many 16 year old gems still shine bright at 21? But who knows, maybe those gems are under our nose “ Sterling & Suso perhaps? Perhaps Conor Coady will stand up and be counted? Perhaps there are others who will blossom under Brendan Rogers. Who knows what the future will bring. All I know is that we are the fans, not the decision makers. We are the ones who more often make decisions with our hearts, not our heads. Making demands like Just win...end of!¯ is, I believe, counterproductive. What we should be looking for at the moment is Show me progress¯. If winning is the only measurement we will lose all perspective. Like you, I believe in FSG, and Brendan Rogers, who has certainly been saying all the right things. To me, at this point, FSG have nailed one of the most important decisions by appointing him. But I also believe that getting back to where we should be(I always liked the fact that even Fergie had to admit that it is OUR perch!)will take time and we should look to measure our progress in more than just wins. As fans, the best we can do is continue to get behind the team, and offer the support to our players that matches our reputation, and which made that night in Istanbul legendary.

Wonderful post Mr. Sunshine. I think you might have hit the G-spot of most LFC fans loyal to the club who dont't have the grammar or foreign as me to get it out, by being so accurate. Excellent and thank you mate.

SudaReD

All we need is our players to be focused in every game and play with belief in there ability and we will be fine

Fine ill say it, NO you are wrong 1.gerrard was injured most of last season 2. lucas was injured all of last season 3. its brendans first season you cant put that kind of pressure on him and say its a vital season, were rebuilding give him room to breath 4. chelsea and man city took two to three years of big spending to win anything, ours started last season, this year them players will come good 5.that text was to long

To Dub_Red:

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I seem to recall the Romans, Greeks and even the British all ruled the world at one point...but, they no longer do (by the way, to the current version of the Greeks and Italians...would it kill ya to pay your taxes??). What once was does not mean it will always be.

Research in Motion was once the biggest and baddest technology company on the planet...cutting edge, innovative and trendy. In contrast, Apple was on the verge of bankruptcy in the '80s.

My how things changed! RIM took their foot off the accelerator, they got terribly cocky, complacent and distracted (for a good couple of years while Apple knuckled down and developed a juggernaut, the RIM CEOs were out trying to buy a hockey team with their billions) and in a blink of an eye, RIM found themselves so, far behind the pack, they may not even exist come next year.

You get my point (if you don't, sorry but further analogies really won't help).

In an era where the EPL has never been more competitive, never been more driven by the bottom line and never been more results oriented, to suggest LFC has some God-given right to occupy a spot in the top-flight...well...just because...is ridiculous...and represents a dangerous mode of thinking. I think it is precisely that type of complacency that plagues LFC and that prompted me to write the original post.

The question is will LFC be the next RIM or the next Apple?

LFC management...I think you can do it but, this is a wake-up call...please don't scew it up.

Very good post, it tells it like it is, and for all those you think we cannot get relegated remember that we may have a great history but that does not mean we have a divine right to be in the premiership, I believe that BR will do a good job but we will have to fight for every point this season.

Good post(s) and well put, I hope all those who agree and more remember to give BR the time he may need to get it right. I was encouraged by his talksport interview this morning in what seemed a focus and determination and the constant use of the word penetration, (must have been reading that 50 shades of s**t). In all seriousness as long as the expectation bar is not set too high, then I feel we could have a good season ahead.

Absolutely spot on! great post, really enjoyed reading it. I to believe BR and FSG will get it right. it isn't about 2 or 3 big names right now it's about getting a better overall quality but most importantly results.

Brilliant read and so true YNWA

Phenomenal post not seen a better insight written & I echo your thoughts entirely.

Starting to get sick of people posting "Ed/Macca anymore news on Krasic, Cavani, Zidane and Peter Beardsley both coming out of retirement to sign for us or Stanley Matthews getting resurrected to play again can we sign him first when he's alive?...'

Get a grip people your sister's boyfriends best mate, who lives with a car mechanic called Big Dave, who happens to fix a car of one of the Melwood's cleaners, doesn't have a scoobies who is signing for us does he?

We'll sign someone when we sign someone and LFC will let us know in due course. The way it's always been done....The Liverpool way.

Again great post.

Well said mate, it's time we cut all the bulls**t and deliver on all fronts....can't keep living on our history

Spot on Mr Sunshine, really good read, I've had these thoughts for a few seasons now too. You've put the whole mess into perspective by breaking it all down. You should have your own space on this site, thank you

A very good, articulate and provocative post.

Jesus mate you have been holding that in for a while. I think you need to post more often so the posta are shorter. You are right though we live in a different world and to keep up with the Jones of the epl we need to make a statement. I believe the prescence of B R will make a difference. Redshp

I reckon this is mostly crap and a lot of worrying. bad when people read this kind of stuff and agree with it.

Great Post! I couldnt agree more...Time for everyone (from all levels) to stand up and be counted!

Jim22

Fully agree with your analysis. I really get dipressed with the names that we are being linked with Demba Ba, Adam Johnson, Holliet, Victor Moses, Kalou, Dempsey etc etc - this only reflects that our own people have accepted our mid to bottom table status. When real quality the likes of Cavani etc pop up the instant reactions are we can't afford these. Then how can we claim to be a top side if we cannot afford/attract top talent. Do you remember what Addidas said upon the termination of the shirt deal ... we are not as good as we think. A simple question how many of our current players can command a starting place at Man City, Man U, Chelsea & even Spurs? My honest opinion is Suarez only, the truth is Gerrard is past it and probably Agger & Skertel. Yet its unbelievable how many articles you see on Suarez will go. The only thing I would add to your analysis is a huge paradigm shift is required on own fans - our understanding of quality players should be informed by what top teams have. Look at Chelsea, Man U, Man city they continue adding more quality to their sides. I bet our starting 11 has no chances against these teams reserve sides. The noise our fans should be making on this site is we should buy top players. Buying one top player this season to compliment Suarez is far better than adding another bunch of average players!

Although i agree with most of this post people using newcastle as a model for transfer policy is missing the point somewhat! it was completely different for a club like them for unknown players going to their club there is a lot less pressure to perform compared to us! and although they have unearthed some fantastic players you all seem to forget about the completely mediocre players they have singed because they dont get the press we get! for every ba cisse and cabaye there is a gabriel obertan sylvain marveux and xisco!!

Good post,when's the next installment!

The good news is that momentum does not only flow in one direction”it can be positive just as easily as it can be negative. So, despite my doom and gloom (by the way, my nickname is 'Mr. Sunshine')...LFC does have a chance to right the ship but, it is working on an extremely thin margin for error and time is of the essence.

- I have never seen so many mixed metaphors in a paragraph. That's some effort!

There was really no need to write the word 'critically' in upper case lettering to highlight its importance in this context; the definition of the word itself allows the reader to ascertain its meaning.

Thanks though.

Pessimist is on one. to say they will be lucky to stay in the EPL is stupidity at its greatest.
More players in english squad then any other team and it would only take 3 good signings in any top half culb to make them challengers for the CL places. And lets face it while we were far from good throughout last season we were also s**t out of luck

No more tat signings! weve been doing it for so many years now with the very odd exception. Ever since Benitez came in and sold all the true scouse players and replaced them with his pile of french crud. We need Agueros not Carrolls! Quality proven players, not over priced ok ones.

Ed plz tell me were not lookin at dema ba {Ed042's Note - It's possible..}

How possible ed?

What's so bad about that? He's a good striker. Knows where the net is, which can't be said for any of our other strikers.

True that ba is a top st who can score .only thing I remember is that he has an injury problem and the realease clause is for champions league teams

Ba would only cost about 7million they reckon ...........WHAT A STEAL!

Plays similar style as Carroll need we need a fast strikers like doumbia

Oh no demba ba's speed isn't 90 on fifa!

Ed, any chance of Kjaer? He's young and think he's a brilliant prospect, also any update on the skrtyl link with man city or was that purley paper talk? Thanks! {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool are looking for a CB then yes.}

Im from denmark, and frankly i hope your not talking about simon kjƦr, cause frankly hes consistancy is no where near what we need, hes way too up and down when it comes to hes performances. {Ed002's Note - I would agree but he is available.}

Hey Edss great site! I have Inside information from Joel Pohjanpalo Hjk Finland. He was tested by Liverpool and they offered a contract which pohjanpalo rejected about half year ago. But there has been new information which state that pohjanpalo will come to lfc in january when the transfer window open. Is this TRUE? Hopefully because in Finland there havent been such good talent after Mikael forssell who scored 17 premier league goals for bermingham city about 10 years ago.

Finnish flash.

If he's every bit as good as Forssell lets hope he doesn't come! {Ed002's Note - That's right. Poor guy is only a 17 year old kid. I would guess you could find his email address somewhere on the internet and start sending hate mail to him to make sure he doesn't move to Liverpool. Pathetic.}

On the bright side, if he does sign the LFC shop will make a killing on his surname on the shirts! and they could spell it wrong, but it's already that random you would never know!

Dalle Valle looked a hell of a prospect before Woy flogged him for the clogger Konchesky. I'd be very open to another Finnish wonderkid!

At young age Forssell was brilliant talent 17 goals prove that. Btw if he come to lfc he go to reserve team. But the "poor kid" as u said has great potential really and it have been also noticed by professionals who are Liverpool scouts. So I don't really care what is your opinion eds002 {Ed002's Note - I take exception to the constant abuse of players even before they have joined the club. I object to the constant references to Liverpool players as "deadwood" by their own fans and again the abuse being thrown at me by the vegetables. There seems to be a new generation of fans that care nothing for the good name the club and fans once had.}

{Ed002's Note - More anonymous trolling boot scrapings from the new generation supporting the trashing of players before they come. Very embarrassing for the club and fans.}

Actually, according to Finnish media, Pohjanpalo was not very impressed by his stay in Liverpool. He stated that the quality of the reserve team was very poor and that even in the first team there aren't currently any world-class players.

If Liverpool's plan is to send him to the reserve team, I can almost certainly say that the deal is not happening. Pohjanpalo will probably only sign for a team that promises him pitch time in the first team instantly. Finding such a team won't be a problem since this season there have been scouts from practically each European country watching him. I'm quite sure he will move first to Denmark/Netherlands/Belgium/Switzerland (or similar level) before the big move to the bigger leagues.

Thanks for the info, Finnish flash. I'd never heard of the kid but I've just watched a video of him scoring a 3 minute hat-trick in a Finnish league game, which isn't bad for a 17-year old. I suggest that everybody else at least takes a look before hurling abuse at the kid. -SH-

Video link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibHRquIsXkg

Pohjanpalo never played for the reserves, so I'm not sure how he can comment. Also he is reportedly a Liverpool fan so unlikely to be running down the club he supports.

The way I understand it is he wants to play first team football and then come to Liverpool. Now BR is at the club he may well convince him that LFC can give him a platform to the big time through the ressies.
He's a great talent and I'd be pleased to see him sign for LFC.

I have to say, i find his middle name a little offensive, but would look funny on his shirt.

He didn't play for the reserves, but he was training with them for a week. After returning to Finland Pohjanpalo said that the reserve team of HJK Helsinki (Klubi-04 in the third tier of the Finnish football pyramid) would beat Liverpool's reserve team easily. He is a big fan of Liverpool, but that doesn't mean he can't criticize the quality of the reserve team.

I just don't see him joining the club if it means playing for the reserve team. The story of Lauri Dalla Valle has changed a lot of attitudes in Finland, and now promising players seem to favour first team action in smaller teams/leagues over the traditional way of joining a big club in a big league but starting in the reserves. Playing in a reserve side might in the worst case mean one or two years away from competetitive football at an absolutely vital age. Look no further than Lauri Dalla Valle, who was sent on loan to grab some first team action much too late and has been struggling since.

Rumours in local papers here in Sweden suggest that Inter and Liverpool is competing over the swedish youngster Anton Larsson, 16.
Can this possibly be true?

Rumours in Denmark says that too. And mentions their own not-swedish sources

Sigurdssons' agent saying he has signed for Tottenham and it will be announced later this afternoon.

Ali, London Red {Ed042's Note - I have heard that the account of his agent is fake, don't hold me to that though if Sigurdsson does sign for Spurs.}

It was shown to me by my Spurs supporting boss so nothing would surprise me!
Ali, London Red

Oh what a tangled web they weave.

It's less then 24hrs old its clearly fake, but even that said he could still troll us all and go to Benfica.

Does anyone care anymore?

I like Sigurdsson, but will be happy if we pass him by for a really top player... Contrarily, if we miss out on him and we end up with another Aquilani I'll be fuming.

03 Jul 2012 14:19:45
Matt Law of the Express says on Twitter that Spurs will now announce Gylfi Sigurdsson as a new signing following the appointment of Villas-Boas

Pending Pending..

Remeber folks - no one cares anymore!!

Apparently heard that we are interested on kiko femenia Barcelona B. Rodgers have connections to the reserve team. Eds could u open this rumour plz?

03 Jul 2012 13:31:16
Any more news on the striker from Roma we had interest in? Thanks,alexthekid

{Ed049's Note - Fabio Borini will stay at Roma.}

03 Jul 2012 12:55:25
ed's anything new on our interest in soloman rondon, looks like a very good player.

KingMiz {Ed022's Note - Nothing at all.}

03 Jul 2012 12:37:37
We're interested in Ramirez, Ba, Adam Johnson and obviously we maintain an interest in Gylfi until he announces where he's off.

Why do we need a guy who has two bad medical failing knees.
We don`t want Demba Ba.

So you and the press say, I'v not hear'd a peep from Rodgers

03 Jul 2012 12:02:53
So ED002, in your eyes is Suarez still going even after what B.R has come out an said? {Ed005's Note - ED002 never ever said it was nailed on that Suarez was going, he said there was a chance and he explained why.}

Totally agree and there will always be a chance in football i just hope he stays

So what u are saying is ED002 didn't know what was going on as there is always a chance anyone could be going, so why post?

I belive ED002 knows bits and bobs of what's going on an was just wondering if what B.R's said has changed his/her opinion?

Thanx

OxRED {Ed022's Note - Right let me clear this up. Ed005 was saying that Ed002 never said that Suarez was DEFINITELY leaving. Ed002 stated that there was a chance that Suarez may depart this summer, and stated the reasons why. Now, this has been covered so damn much that it's getting to the stage where we as editors are contemplating ignoring all Suarez questions due to the levels of abuse we are receiving over it. It's utterly disgraceful how some posters treat us Editors, and if we went one day of posting all the abuse you'd realise that we need to have the patience of Moses. BR did an interview saying that Suarez wasn't leaving, so that MUST mean that Suarez is staying right? If that's the case, I'd advise all of you to stop posting about Suarez, and to not ask our opinion on Suarez. That way, everyone wins.}

No! Ed 02 said numerous times that she felt that Suarez would go.
She couldn't have made it clearer and she still could be right!

Zarraz

To b fair I got the impression ed002 expects Suarez more than just a chance. Not having a go or anything it is just the impression I got from his posts. The poor guy has been slated for his honesty tho. Hope he is wrong though in the nicest way possible.
Jason {Ed022's Note - There is absolutely nothing wrong with hoping Ed002 is wrong, as I myself as a Liverpool fan feel the same way. However, I have to take off my tinted-glasses with issues like these. Nevertheless, we Editors can fully understand and accept that people will disagree with us, but it is the manner in which they do it which causes issues.}

Jesus! you lot need to get laid once in a while..

Im pretty sure Ed 002 is a man and sometimes leads people to question his gender to wind people up for his own amusement because he gets bored answering the same questions a hundred times a day

Cavani will go to Juventus, not Suarez.

So Ed22 what's happening with Suarez? Also, you mention Moses, you know something we don't? just kidding. Shame that you guys get abuse (especially ed2 as it makes him hate Liverpool fans even more). {Ed022's Note - I'm really not getting this.}

I am sick of the stick the Eds get.

Can I apply to be an Ed? Do I need An NVQ?

BigBadBen

I know why ed002 thought that he might leave infact everyone should remember that fsg set up an investigating team to look into how the Suarez incident and how it would dammage the global image of the club,so if they had decided that keeping him would have cost them revenue from things like global replica shirt sales they might have sold him at the right price !

Brendan Rogers will enquire about the availability of Spurs Tom Huddlestone once Spurs have confirmed their manager. He tried to bring him to Swansea on loan but will look to sign him permantley with an offer of around £5-6mil. He also plotting potential moves for Victor Moses (£8mil) and Demba Ba (£7mil)

Franz Hammerstein

Thank you for reading th enews today.

Huddlestone's too injury prone. One to replace Aurelio and keep the medical staff in a job.

Jesus, not the honey monster...

Huddlestone have not played all season, he will not do any good. And demba ba played bad after cisse came in. he has just been lucky... not good enough

Well...Ba played worse because Pardew had him playing out wide because of Cisse's form.

These are not signings to push us into a top 4 team but confirm our status as a mid-table team.

Mid table signings

Will only get `mid table` signings because at the moment we are a mid table team. Average players with no appetite or knowledge of winning. I do believe that one or two will be much better this season (Always believe Carroll will come good , and he will.)Downing is a major no-no and a huge loss and Henderson will improve, but then can`t get much worse, but if Lucas is fit can`t see Henderson getting a game....unless hes a better crosser of the ball than Downing....mmmm bit of competition!!!As usual we`ve bought trash at overinflated prices, emptied the coffers and now have to listen to rumours of Spurs castoffs......How much did it hurt watching Alonso in th Euros....who in their right mind lets quality like that go...no wonder we are mid table.Still Brendan. Good luck fella.Buy quality, play it your way , and as long as you care, and give it your best shot, Y.N.W.A. Pinhead.

I think we are bidding him because of his passing abilities.

Quality player but very injured

03 Jul 2012 11:36:07
Eds, any interest in Casemiro of Sao Paulo? Or is he headed for Italy? {Ed005's Note - Heard nothing.}

03 Jul 2012 10:53:48
Think Brendan's first signing could be a Spaniard or from Spain. And that player must be as he said someone who can bring something extra (quality) to the squad.

So spare yourselves for a quality exciting young signing people....

Armando

And what make you "THINK" this?

Billjohnson86

Isn't it prepare?

Misschinandlerbong

A Spaniard or from Spain ????

I might be wrong but arent most young spaniards from spain?

What he meant, it could be any of the 2000 or so football players that play in the Spanish leagues, Or it might be one of the 100 or so Spanish players that play out side of Spain.

As broad as that might be, I still dont think there was any bases for that assumption apart from the little voices in his head.

Roy

Worst ever post?

I disagree, it will be a dutch player or a player from holland !

Wrong it will be a man or from planet earth

I disagree , it will be a south american playing in Europe, or a player from Europe.

Roy

What about an italian from err Italy!

No, it's definetly going to be a frog from france.

A spaniard or from Spain? But what if he is Spanish? The plot thickens

Absolute genius!

I bet hell play football aswell

03 Jul 2012 10:12:03
Hey eds, i need to ask you that can we get ramirez without selling suarez. I think they would be superb together with Andy carrol who will improve a lot next season. BTW is there any interest in utaka? Would love to see him in the red shirt. {Ed005's Note - Yes mate I'm sure we could. Suarez is being offered a new deal so he's staying. And nothing on Utaka mate thankfully.}

Do you believe he will stay, Ed005? Would love him to stay but I'm not sure what to believe anymore! {Ed005's Note - I think he will mate - he has caused problems but if the club are offering him a new deal it is a clear indication that the club want him to stay, even FSG, and that he'll be here next season.}

Utaka? Do you mean John Utaka? I seriously hope you are messing. The guy is lazy, bad attitude and a dreadful finisher

Ed005 u say he wil stay some of the other eds say he will most likely go....are u sure he wil stay mate {Ed005's Note - The other eds said there is a chance he'll go - based on the fact FSG wanted rid due to the issues of this season and sponsorship problems. However that has obviously changed mate if FSG are happy for BR to give him a new contract.}

Sorry, forgot to sign off my last post. Ahh that's great news, was really worrying he was gonna leave! Sleeping easy tonight!

Pete

03 Jul 2012 10:09:25
Newcastle has cooled their interest in de Jong
Where's is his likely destination now Edds ?
Cheers bobcat {Ed005's Note - It is hard to know mate until clubs make offers for him. I think it'll all depend on other transfers, one being Lewandowski.}

03 Jul 2012 10:34:35
Someone mentioned earlier with a similar signature to me (Red Lee not RedLee) about Cabye, not saying we will but think he would/could be a great signing.

Also although I'm from Liverpool I live in the North East, I seen him in the Metro Centre last year and his missus is hot!! Dont blame him for man marking her!

What Rodgers says about Suarez means nothing. He will be sold to the highest bidder, contracts mean noithing these days. Torres was on a long term deal and was sold. So were a lot of other players. Juve or PSG will buy him for around the 30 million mark.

Stop talking b****cks he wants to stay so leave the rumours alone

Torres wanted out and it would have been stupid to keep an off form player at the club when someone offered 50m.

In this case, Suarez seems like he wants to stay for now and the club doesn't need money. With Rodgers publicly stating he wants Suarez to stay, I think it means he has persuaded Mr Henry to give him one more chance.

STB

Suarez is staying you plank, if you were a real liverpool fan you wouldn't post this so get off our fan sites.

Torres wanted to go!thats why he was sold.

Well i think levy showed last year with modric, that contracts do mean something and that we dont have to bow to player power
kopbob

Torres wanted to leave Suarez doesn't.

How does what Rodgers said mean nothing? He wants the player to stay and sign a new contract so I think it means that he ain't going anywhere!

We got 50m for torres who said lets talk to chelsea, so if a player doesnt want to be at the club and the price is fair so be it, suarez has not indicated he would be up for a move as yet so cant see it 30m is a bit low going by other prices he must be closer to torres price Tommy Irish Red.

He wouldn't want to leave the EPL after one season, especially after being branded a racist. He would want the chance to change everyone else's perception of him before he ever considered leaving the English game.

Well so we will get almost 40 million at worst. besides i'd take suarez over 40 million. i think he is class.

So according to you you nameless, faceless, mug, one of the first things Rodgers does as manager is to lie to the fans about their favourite player live on radio! He said he's gonna offer him a new contract and he is excited about next season. The end!

Benzo

To LFC fans. Do you think this statement will cool down some anti lfc here? I think they should worry more about their star player coz balotteli, torres, Gerard and suarez have shown sign of improvement in their last matches. Serious threat to their ambition.

To anti lfc
Stop twisting media opinion LFC fans love suarez.

A player dosent sign a new deal at a club ( which he is doing) then leave a week later :L
this one forgot to take his medication
weymouth red

Contracts mean everything! if torres wasn't on a long term deal he would have went for 20 million.YagEraDetinu

I think that Suarez has too much of a heart to leave. The LFC fans supported him so much during the Evra ordeal and he appreciates that. If he left he would feel like he betrayed us all. I can only see him leaving for a huge offer £50+ Million but after was has been said in the past and today i dont think he has any intention on leaving, plus his Uruguayan friend Ramirez may be joining us, so why leave?

03 Jul 2012 10:08:54
Everyone expecting Suarez to leave can now relax and put it to bed because he wont be leaving. At least not to Juventus. I just heard reliable info that Juventus would up their offer to 15m euros for Van Persie which Arsenal would still reject. They'd return and make a cheeky bid for Suarez-a player plus cash deal which Liverpool would also reject,then they'd make another 18m euro bid followed by a final 20m euro bid which will be accepted by Arsenal-Expect it to drag long. PSG would be the ones to look out for in terms of getting Suarez but i feel they are gonna be more interested in Pato. Expect Suarez to sign a new deal in the upcoming weeks. Bottom line is he wont be leaving. Remember my name-Suarez isnt leaving. The whole Arsenal issue could be different and Arsenal may refuse the offer of 20m euros but i was told thats just the sequence of bids to be made. You cant expect me to tell you specifically that Arsenal will accept it but i believe they would and Juventus also expect they would accept it as they are not willing to bid more than that.- Again Suarez isnt leaving.

Bryan Francis

Van Persie is a £40m striker, why would Arsenal would sell him for half that to those notoriously chancing tight wads Juventus

Carnage

No they won't numpty.

So after all that you still havent given valid reason which points to suarez not leaving, even though you have said it many times and is the main point of your post.

I hope Arsene Wenger isn't reading this page because you've just told him how Juventus plan to negotiate from 15m up to 20m.

The only way van persie would have went to juventus was in the mid 80s when they had a great team and the best league in the world now italian league is crap, it would be a step down for either these players to go there and they want them on the cheap too lol.Tommy Irish Red. {Ed005's Note - I don't think it would be as unattractive as you think mate. Juventus are Serie A champions and have bought two quality players in Asamoah and Isla - with RVP for example they'd only be better and have a better chance of silverware than Arsenal.}

Van Persie a 40m striker? Lets be realistic here,he's on his last year and he is 28. This is unlike the case of Nasri who was 24 or thereabout who still had a resell value. Van Persie just have two seasons left in him and he will fade out. And plus Van Persie isnt giving any indication that he wants to stay. I dont like it when we inflate player prices.. I believe 25m euros is also fair but what i was told is that 20m would be the highest Juventus will bid. And to the other guy that wants me to provide a rational for Suarez staying,I believe you didnt need a rational to believe he would leave so why need one now. The rational is the club doesnt want to sell and clubs would not make a "stupid" and outrageous bid that would be too good to refuse for him. If Cavani is worth 40m,then Luis is worth more. Regardless of finishing we all know Luis is better all round. And you dont expect to sell a player bought at 23.8m a year ago to be sold for 30m. Besides the player hasnt given you any ideas that he wants to leave. The club,the manager,the player has stated that Suarez isnt leaving. Still need a rationale? And thanks ed for telling that guy that thinks Arsenal is a better team than Arsenal.. How can you say so of a team that finished the season unbeaten

Bryan Francis

The only way van persie would have went to juventus was in the mid 80s when they had a great team and the best league in the world now italian league is crap, it would be a step down for either these players to go there and they want them on the cheap too lol.Tommy Irish Red
==========================
Tommy Irish, Juve just finished the season unbeaten playing some of the best football, as ED005 just told you they just bought 2 good players and they will buy more, I dont think either RVP or Suarez will end up there though.
Roy

Cavani is much better than suarez.... There both strikers I'd rather Suarez score 30 goals a season than doing dribbles skills and scoring 15 goals if only Cavani came 2 us 2 play along Suarez

Overly contrived garbage....you talking bout a different RVP, sir?

Cavani better than Suarez? Are you kidding me? Do you watch them play together? Suarez consistently overshadows Cavani and make him look like just another player. Maybe Cavani should come to the EPL and see how though it is. And remeber the 9games he missed?
And am not saying Van Persie isnt good,am simply saying considering his age and the length of his current 25m euros should be the highest any club with any business sense should be offering

Bryan Francis

Its time or your meds

gee man

Eyyy up everyone, this sounds like a Dynamo accumulator to me ... this guy knows the future workings of LFC, Arse, Juve, PSG, including the bids that will be rejected before the return bids ... my God the new prophet has arrived

03 Jul 2012 10:01:10
Hi ed just seen islahas signed for Juve is this true? {Ed049's Note - YES}

03 Jul 2012 09:57:45

Brendan Rodgers insisted that star striker, Luis Suarez, remains an integral part of his plans at Liverpool FC. Luis Suarez has been linked with a host of clubs, Juventus being the most recent one but Brendan Rodgers was quick to rubbish these claims. Brendan is confident that Luis Suarez will sign a new long-term deal at Liverpool.

"I've had a brilliant chat with Luis, he is really looking forward to being here and we are obviously hoping that we can get him on to another new contract. He's really looking forward to the new season"

Interview On talksport this morning! Sorry for the copy and paste !

Its nice to see someone posting some real news from the managers mouth , instead of all the usual garbage and fantacy nonsense that unfortunatley makes up 95 percent of this site , but i do admit , a lot is very amusing , and its nice to peer into some guys fantacy worlds , football only obviously

BR is handling himself incredibly well. We are lucky to have him as our manager. Good times ahead

Ofcourse. A month before Torres left he was also very happy at Anfield.

"Of course. A month before Torres left he was also very happy at Anfield".

No he wasn't, Torres first looked at leaving the summer before.

What's with the unbelievables? I heard it. Straight from the horses mouth.. Losers

03 Jul 2012 09:40:39
According to the Daily Mail. Juventus are preparing a player plus cash deal for Suarez.
I believe that Rodgers has been told that he has to use what he has got, unless he can sell some players.

Every time you try and save money, it ends up costing you more.

Scotty Strasse

Don't believe it. BR interview on talk sport said he is staying. Straight from the horses mouth

I TAKE IT YOU MISSED BR ON TALKSPORT!!

Utter garbage , it seems your so deluded that u think your in close working relationship with BR , amazing that you know what the owners have told BR about his summer spending kitty !!

Don't believe the Daily Fail, almost as genuine SH!te as the "S*n.

Rodgers said on talksport this morning that he's looking to bring in 3/4 players! He also said that there are very few players who will fit the quality ov Liverpool! So I think he's only looking for top players!

My old grandad used to call the Daily Mail the Daily Liar.I think he had it about right.

Didn't any of you notice that "rumour" in the mail appeared on this site a few days ago as a suggestion and conversation with ED002...?

Richards {Ed022's Note - The rumour was evidently taken from Ed002. It happens fairly regularly.}

Ahem...did you use the words daily and mail in the same sentence?....do like your money philosophy though.

You believe whatever you like, cash is there for BR to recruit whoever he likes

03 Jul 2012 09:34:37
Liverpool are in talks with Newcastle regarding Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye. Rumours of Andy Carroll going the other way are NOT true!

You heard it here first!

Red Lee

When people sign of with 'you heard it here first' or other related drivel it just makes me feel embarrassed for them. Oh well, when school's out the kids must play...
Milamber

Sigh,more lies......

Yohan Cabaye, seriously, he would cost a bomb

I wouldn't sign my name if it was 'more lies'. This is what i have been told and i am just sharing my info!
Wait and see!

Red Lee

Dont think dealing with newcastle will be easy they will push for silly money for cabaye and the 7m clause with ba is only for champions league teams, i noticed ba had a big drop in form after jan dont think i would want him to be honest.Tommy Irish Red.

I always knew Andy Carroll leaving would be too good to be true.

SUMON VAI

Every lpool fan rather have cabaye an ba over carroll don't think Newcastle fans be any different would be nice thou

The Ba rumour has been going around for ages use the search function and as for cabaye for the crazy money Newcastle want for him you could buy someone world class and still have change.
The hat

If this is true you watch us get swindled for both of them and then they'll go out and buy 2/3 players with the money who turn out better.

Don't be so negative SUMON.He did well in the last few games and was o.k. for England.He only now seems to be returning to his Newcastle form.

Ba would n't pass the medical at LFC, he wont be an option.
I dont think any of the Newcastle players (main players) will be leaving their club this season.

Roy

The Omicronian royal family will sign Suarez on a £35 trillion 78 year contract to play for Omicron Persei 8. Remember, you heard it here (my deluded fantasy) first.

Lrrr.

03 Jul 2012 09:30:13
Three papers reporting Liverpool could bid for Ba. Massive coincidence or could there be something to the speculation?

Cheers

CSE9

03 Jul 2012 09:04:48
Hi Ed's' Are we really interested in Demba Ba?

Cheers

RedLee {Ed005's Note - Nothing but the papers and media outlets suggests we are mate. I'm not ruling it out but I'm sure Newcastle would ask for a considerable amount of money off us for him - the kind of money that could get us someone better in my opinion.}

Looks like there are 2 of us Red Lee's lol!

Doesn't he have a £7m buy-out clause Ed?
Jmjs. {Ed049's Note - Yes if the interested club has CL to offer.}

He has got a 7 million pound release clause , and i think thats a fair price for him , he scored 15 goals last season , compared to moses lifetime goal total of 20 goals in 147 games , and moses is quoted at 12 million ?

£7 million is the asking price. That's what his contract says, and the dogs in the street have known it almost since he arrived on Tyneside.

More important question: Do Liverpool want another target man, given the way Rodgers likes to play? Can't see the point in having another player to hit it long to, if that isn't the way we're going to play.

Actually Rodgers likes to use target men up front rather than smaller players. This is why I think Carroll ould be a huge success under rodgers.

{Ed049's Note - Yes if the interested club has CL to offer.}

Last time I checked we do not have CL to offer so would it be correct in assuming this Release Fee doesn't apply for us?

Ben {Ed001's Note - correct.}

Agree with you here Ed. Demba Ba is unproven long term in the prem. I think that a move to Liverpool would be a bad move and he would under perform.

03 Jul 2012 07:05:45
Adam Johnson is looking very likely to be joining LFC. He is desperate to leave City and will most likely either sign for us or Sunderland, who are also very keen to sign him. Was told he 'resents' Mancini. This comes from a lad that knows Adam quite well.

JS

Adam Johnson - let me just tell you that he does not get on with Mancini. full stop. he resents him for holding him back in his quest for an England place.
Adam will meet Mancini this week where Mancini will give him all the bull about how important Adam is to MCFC. But believe me Adam is in no mood to accept this. He'll be up for a move lads. trust me on this one. then it'll be down to Sunderland or Liverpool. Sunderland can't get close to wages and Liverpool have already approached Adam.

JS

The Nightlife/Clubland is great in Liverpool compared to mancland and sunderland:
So could be on his way to us?
kidmillions

I hope your right mate i wouldn't mind having Johnson and downing playing on the wings where they can swap sides during the game. i think downing will be alot better next season aswell. they could make a real difference. I know about the supposed attitude but hopefully a.Johnson will have a point to prove.
SB96

Hope so, would love to see him in a Liverpool shirt. Think it would be a sorry state of affairs though if we are interested but for whatever reason we loose out to Sunderland. Bit like loosing out on Sigurdsson to the spuds - wouldnt be a very good sign...!

Sunderland have a 60k per week wage cap, Adam Johnson will either stay at Man City or move to Liverpool.

You heard it here fourth.

03 Jul 2012 03:31:31
Heard In that Cavani is open for big money move.Guess we can get him afterall edds? {Ed005's Note - Can't see it happening personally mate there will be clubs in the CL with much bigger financial muscle who would go in for him if he became available.}

Hopefully juventes will snap him up so they can stop sniffing around suarez

If Lavezzi is leaving, which i'm still a little gobsmacked over, then Cavani is going NOWHERE.

Lavezzi si done deal for PSG

Wish people would stick to more believable transfer rumours instead of recirculating overly hysterical posts of their own FIFA12 wish lists! Not a chance in HELL Cavani would be coming to us in the real world! (As much as I would love him too!).

Ed do you no of any interest in Demba Ba as he is available for 7million untill July 31st thanks to a clause in his contract - the Daily Mail are reporting interset - your thoughts?
RedRob {Ed005's Note - Not sure if true but I heard that was only a clause for teams in the Champions League.}

Ed do you know if/ when juventus are gonna start making bids for Suarez? {Ed005's - They're interest so I expect them to make a bid for him at some point mate.}

If we sell we want cold hard cash. None of this loan rubbish,these Italian teams always tuck us up. Cash or no deal.
Lee73

They have plenty of targets for that position. They're trying to fill the massive boots of Del Piero and even Matri may be leaving. So basically any striker in world football is a target at this stage.

Red7.

Judging by their reported RVP bid don't expect major money

Vucinic and 20m will do. Or Matri and 20 {Ed002's Note - Matri is available but right now not keen to play in England - this was a consideration.}

Dont listen to any interest buck said he wants to keep him so tell them to keep away with there stupid offers ,14m was reported the other day remember how these italians messed us about with aqua man.Tommy Irish Red.

Hi Ed
Im a bit confused do want sig and Gaston Ramirez or do LFC have to choose? Thanks
YNWA {Ed005's Note - I'm not sure mate I'd personally say both would be viable given we had the backing of FSG to do so as both could play in different positions in the same team.}

Juventus just signed Isla & Asamoah,from Bologna. Does this me (a) they are not getting Ramirez (b) he's coming to Liverpool (c) none of the above ? {Ed005's Note - I don't think it will have any bearing given Ramirez plays in different positions to both of these players.}

Siggy and Gaston, now that would be nice.
CR

Unfortunately LFC are not in a position to choose.....we can only sign what other teams don't want....so lets wait for the last two weeks of the transfer window to see if there is something for us left to sign {Ed049's Note - seriously, you trouble me.}

Are liverpool in for Andre Schurrle (german bomber)
We need a 4th striker and they have put the price of moses up for £12 million. I think he would work out at liverpool

I totally agree. I think that is why we are having a friendly with Bayern Leverkusen as part of the deal to bring Schurrle to Liverpool. Watch this space.

Coley

Plays as a striker but predominately plays on the left wing. quick, skillful, good finisher from what i can gather - sounds good. Probably gonna be between him and A. Johnson for the

Hi guys, been following site a few years now and every transfer window there always rumours about some far fetched player going to "sign by the end of the week" by somebody "in the know" the only think I wanna know is there anything to this Bernard kid or are we gonna be hearing that he's gonna sign by Friday for the next two months, why would an editor start this rumour? I can only persume there is cause your head will be as wrecked as mine if not.

Pa {Ed001's Note - he was just saying that we have scouted him, nothing more. Not that he is about to sign, just been looked at. We look at hundreds of players every year, so it might mean nothing.}

The truth...Rodger will not sign any player untill he asses the current squad to see the kind of prayer he need for his gameplan...he wanted sig but not that seriously.. thats why we lost him.. a friend of mine, academy player told me...if u dont believe me. just wait

When is going to finish assessing the current squad?

I'm sure Rodgers has been doing his homework. Is obvious were we need to improve. I bet he's watched every game from last season. Spoke to Steve Clarke (possibly Kenny) and I believe Kevin Keen is still at the club. He'll know exactly who he needs to move on and improve where. He deffo wanted Gyfil. Who wouldn't?

Yeah im sure the first thing BR did was nip down the academy and explain his transfer policy to all the 15 yr olds - idiot

I am sure in your fantacy world , you do have a mate who is an academy player , but in the real world you dont do you mate ? all pretty sad really

Before he asses his squad?? thats a new pre season technique! Good luck getting Skrtel to agree to that one :)

ed is any truth that rodgers is looking at davis of rangers

derryred {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

I hope not. even tho he's a fellow Ulsterman, he's crap - Ulsterpool

LFC will sign gabriel silva as cover for jose enrique close to being finalised just fee to be agreed with novara should be wrapped up by friday at the latest.

Thanks

Hitlers missing teste

He is only on loan at Novara, his actual ownership is a bit complicated apparently

Isn't the fee the first thing that gets sorted? the personal terms come later! unless LFC have decided to tap up players tut tut tut

http://www.calciomercato.com/mercato/ag-ramirez-a-cm-wolfsburg-sempre-in-pole-in-italia-solo-la-juve-413985

theres the link were gaston tells the reporter its is a toss up betwen juventus and wolfsburg

I'm not sure if that's true, but i'd dare say Wolfsburg have zero chance.

Clearly Spanish isn't your strongest language. The article quotes his agent stating that Juventus are interested and that he has spoken to Wolfsburg but they are unlikely to afford him. Nothing about a toss up between two clubs.

Rodgers is only after 3 players: a left sided wing back (from Serie A), an attacking midfielder (from La Liga) and a wide forward (from Bundesliga).

Bellamy is going back to Cardiff. Maxi is staying for at least another year.

Bid for wide forward to be made next week. Suarez to sign a new contract in next 2 weeks.

Katak

I think you should change youre name to kak mate jsut like your dodgy post lol

I think suarez will be used as more attacking from the wings either side would suit him so an out and out striker of real quality would be good.

Ive heard liverpool are interested in pablo armero. you heard anything on him eds i know arsenal were interested at one point but have heard we have showed an interest to cheers CRAIG {Ed001's Note - I have only heard of the rumours on here regarding him.}

Hi Edds, I was wondering if we are still attempting to sign David Texeira and is Daniel Pacheco coming back next season, also this is a great site! {Ed001's Note - I believe the Texeira link was simply confusion because of the similarity of his name to the lad we did actually sign. Pacheco I am unsure of, he had burnt his bridges under the previous management, but we have a new broom in now. It is hard to tell if his slate has been swept clean and he will be given another chance or not.}

Pacheco has confirmed he is travelling to Liverpool tomorrow for pre season

K-man

What did Pacheco do to burn bridges? I like what I saw in him, he never got a chance to play, just some 5 minutes cameos.
Andrew Dunne

There's loads of different reasons he's supposed to be lazy and didn't turn up for a match once eds have also given other reasons you might find out if you search his name ,he made 6 appearances for norwich and scored 2 goals and I know a lot of their fans who want him back

Pacheco will be given a chance to show what he's got in pre season, my mate met him this week in ibiza

Is daniel pacheco good enough to be asked back?!

Do we hold an interest in Demba Ba?

Mighty reds

The question is why would Ba want to leave to a club like Liverpool? No CL a longer way to EL and the same league ambitions as Newcastle. In Newcastle he has good friends and is really liked by everyone.
