Ed002 is Tomori from Chelsea available on loan? I thought he was a solid defender at the back end of last season but doesn’t get a look in at Chelsea now?
{Ed002's Note - Fikayo Tomori (CB) just possible January loan but a sale is more likely - Newcastle and Leeds have spoken with Chelsea but Rennes is another possible destination. West Ham did not give the time commitments in the summer but have raised the issue again (but unlikely). If a buyer can be found that would suit all parties - and Rennes have the money to commit to a loan to buy in January.}

Ye I really liked him last season. Very quick and powerful. He would also be home grown I believe.

I personally see absolutely no value to brining in a young CB with “potential”. If we’re to add another CB to our ranks (which we clearly will either now, or more likely summer - it has to be a guaranteed starter or someone who can genuinely push Gomez for that place at the very least. Not Tomori, not schurs or anyone like that. No problem with a young CB but there are few of the require level eg upamecano.

Reporters rarely have it right I can remember him saying same thing on the Thiago situation.

One word sums up the desired asset in a new centre back for me - pace.
Whether that is an older, more experienced player or a younger one.
I’d bite your hand off for Tomori actually, he’d be ideal for me but obviously that won’t happen.

Maybe my eyes are decieving me big time on Upamecano but in the few times i've seen both him and Schuurs live i wouldn't say there's much between the pair. If anything i would say Schuurs looks the better player.
