I think the emphasis is on ensuring the ankle is fully recovered. He is just a kid with a really promising future ahead of him. I think the club handle injuries really well these days and it’s all about ensuring the player is ready, which wasn’t the case back in the day.

I think we just have to be patient with his return and just focus on enjoying watching him play when he is actually fit enough to do so.

Nothing to be gained in rushing the lad back. He was just getting regular first team playing time too, a bloody shame.

When he first started for us I thought blimey this is a gamble, but how stupid was I taking into account what he done for Blackburn last season amongst men . Hope he gets back to what he loves and his progression will be joyful to watch.

Watched him a good few times for Blackburn last year I thought he was still a bit weak. Was wrong in the regard he loves to get stuck in and has a proper brain for the game. Not many kids can go from playing on the wing to in the center at a high level at his age. Can't wait for the kid to come back.

I fully agree RedJoe. I too though he was slightly lightweight but he has proved us wrong. Great both on and off the ball, what a miss he has been.

Hey Ed's
Are the club working on midfield targets
The gaps in midfield when Fabinho isn't playing are insane.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes the club will look to add to the midfield.}

31 Oct 2021 09:43:01
Do u expect the club to act in January or is it a wait until summer? I think we should sell Ox and sign Bissouma in January.

31 Oct 2021 11:17:48
Usually if we need someone and in this case we do, we usually get our buisness done early in the window and the situation we are in there can be no farting about like laat season with kabak an davies we need a quality midfielder a, s, a, p .

31 Oct 2021 11:24:11
Where's the minimum £30m price difference between Ox and Bissouma going to come from?

31 Oct 2021 12:21:45
So basically we are moving like the bury of the prem, its ridiculous we ain't asking for the earth just adequate additions to the squad to make us stronger.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the Bury that were expelled from the Football League for being unable to start a season due to financial difficulties and had to sell their ground, that Bury? Perhaps you should think before you call things ridiculous, as your reply was the most ridiculous I have read in a long time.}

31 Oct 2021 13:02:26
I don't get what all the complaining is about. bad day at the office for sure. but this is the same group that has been coping alright since we've had injuries to Fab, Thiago and Elliot.

Do people really think we are going to sell Ox and then Buy Bissouma in Jan? hahahahahaha.

What kind of midfielders are we looking at Ed? For me, when we were at our most effective, we had a lot of midfielders who were very fit, carried the ball up the pitch and pressed relentlessly, and had them on rotation. Of those, Milner and Henderson are getting older and more injury prone, Wijnaldum's gone and Ox has completely dropped off after his injury problems. So, for me, we need a "busy"/ cariliero type of midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The targets will pretty much be as per summer in Bissouma and Sanches. Depending what happens with departures perhaps an AM in the summer.}

31 Oct 2021 13:24:09
Wow sorry ed maybe my comparison was daft excuse me but i am not a bury fan, but the club is very relaxed about adding quality players to improve us and as a top club we can't afford to hang around as proven since winning the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it was as ludicrous as your obsession with buying shiny new toys.}

31 Oct 2021 13:35:01
Would be pointless signing Sanches. We’ve enough injury prone players in midfield, adding a player who goes on a sicky for half a season every season is pointless. That’s the literal definition of throwing good money to bad.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Oct 2021 14:46:23
You are missing my point ed I am not after shiny new toys, if a house needs repairs minor or large it needs fixing so I can rent it out to my lodgers . Our house needs minor repairs but they are essential to win things . If we are happy being 2nd, 3rd or 4th sound let's crack on with our injury prone squad .

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes and the point is that we have already got those repairs in the shape of Elliott, Morton etc in house that need the opportunity to play and people should stop being so impatient.}

31 Oct 2021 16:59:05
I don't think anyone could miss your point lad, you labour it so much.
And clearly your answer to every problem is "buy more players". How many years has Klopp been manager and you still can't grasp how he works?
All this after a draw against Brighton.
Absolutely comical.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Oct 2021 16:35:02
OK Ed I hope they are given the chance morton will definitely get his opportunities with that midfield, but the likes of tsimikas, minamino, origi even nat Phillips need to be trusted to keep others on their toes .

One draw and the doom and gloom of needing bissouma and Co in immediately. Its not about the result yesterday its about how we bounce back from it.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Oct 2021 18:08:54
Redjoe, how do you think Henderson, Ox and Jones are going to deal with Atletico Madrid and then West Ham, if they struggled to deal with Brighton? If we have to line up with that midfield for those two matches it could be a very ugly week.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Oct 2021 18:38:13
No one is saying buy for the sake of it, we have hardly bought anyone since 2019, flash if we had midfielders that were not getting injured i would be like sound we can cope, but u have too agree all our midfielders not most all are injury prone way too much hendo included fab not so much, its shxt preparation to win a league or champions league.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Oct 2021 19:38:12
So get rid of everyone in midfield and buy a whole new set of players?
Bar Gini these midfielders have won everything major there is to win. It's a contact sport, there will be injuries. Your answer is to just buy, buy, buy.
It may have escaped your attention but the transfer window is closed and the club isn't exactly financially flush.
fans want a new shiny shiny, Klopp has ALWAYS preferred to seek answers from within and has stated so in countless interviews.
It's only obsessive fans that harp on about transfers being the answer to every problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Oct 2021 20:44:09
Yes the transfer window is closed Flash, all we can do is hope Fabinho will return for Wednesday, and it is clear that was folly to not replace the only midfielder that we could rely upon to be fit all the time and be able to retain possession when on the pitch.

To me it seems evident that the internal solutions aren’t good enough, otherwise we wouldn’t have been bullied at home so easily.

Literally the only positives from the weekend was that it could have been worse and it’s one more point than last season, but that doesn’t hide the fact that our midfield was poor for most of the match.

I'm not going to lie, it is easy to look at Keita and Ox, who have had issues with both fitness and consistency, (although Keita had actually only missed 2 games due to injury this season, and I think Ox has been every squad so far) and wonder why we didn't sell them and buy one better midfielder. Either in terms of quality or fitness. Or both.

But maybe no one was interested at a price that allowed us to buy a midfielder we actually wanted. We'd have needed £20m each for them to even look at Bissouma, which let's face it, we were never going to get. Sure, we could've gone out and bought, as a random example, Jason Knight for £10m or something, but does a player of that level have a long term role at Liverpool beyond simply providing a fitter body than Keita or Ox for a season or two? Don't think so.

With the market being how it is, and the risk presented by Ox and Keita's injury records, you'd probably struggle to drum up interest in anything than a loan to buy, or a really cheap deal for them.

And at the end of the day, we've gone into the season with 6 senior midfielders, plus Jones and Elliot. Even accounting for one being 35, and three having less than stellar injury records, it really should be enough cover. It's not like CB last season where we only had 3 plus the then unproven Phillips.

we let Gini go and still had 8 midfielders on the books with none of them looking like they'd be going anywhere last summer.

In an environment of state owned clubs blooding our young prospects is vital to the future of the club, add that to poorly managed players cast out from these overly indulgent firms on the whims of swiftly rotated gaffers then acquired for a cheeky nandos and brought to their full potential ala Salah by an elite infrastructure and by george you've got a team .
