a person has a quote from suarez saying "it is not true I have an agreement with Real Madrid. I am thinking about my future but I have not decided anything yet. " Sort of putting my mind at rest, but suggests this could drag on and no one will be sure until 1st September.
Pato108 {Ed002's Note - It'll drag on.}

Hoping if he does decide to leave he will go leaving us enough time to find replacement otherwise (no offence to Sturridge and Aspas) we will struggle till january AGAIN!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm confident that IF he does go, then we have targets in place to get him. (Not meaning Aspas)

JA89

Agree0 Disagree0

Always the voice of optimism Ed002, bloody hell I'd hate to have been next to u on the titanic, if Suarez gives an inkling he wants out or Real offer a fee that's too good to refuse, he will be moved on, quickly and swiftly, LFC not about one person, BR will move fast this season, we must hit the ground running, Suarez is an asset, but the club is bigger than any asset, onwards and upwards 2013/14. YNWA.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazz, you're forgetting we have Borini!

This whole will he won't he is becoming farcical, take the money and buy a goalscorer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suárez said in Uruguay on Wednesday that it would be “difficult to say no to Madrid” after claiming that his family had suffered as a result of the controversy generated by his on-field behaviour for Liverpool this season. However, on Thursday his representative, Pere Guardiola, insisted the player was “happy and will stay at Liverpool”.

With Suárez having signed a four-year contract at Anfield 12 months ago, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been given the public backing of the club’s American owners to reject any offers for him this summer. (inderpendant newspaper)

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats from a person on twitter and the quotes he has posted are from a previous interview

Agree0 Disagree0

What will be will be! I think Suarez has been great for us, but if he leaves it won't hold us back. BR is no fool and has already got us playing great football without Luis. With him out of the team it gave the option of putting Coutinho in "the hole" where he was awesome. I would love him to stay, but we can adapt without him and with the money it will bring, I think it could end up being to the benefit of the team. Time will tell.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should play hard ball like mr Levi and strike a deal that is a bebefit to us. 50m take it or leave it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 can u confirm whether suarez does have a buy out clause at 40m pounds as that is what loads of newspapers are reporting? I though you said 40m euros just allowed him to talk {Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation and what Liverpool will likely accept.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez also told the ref that there was no way he just bit Ivanovic

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2013 08:35:19
Ah f*** yeah sorry borini. No offence mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Read on the tv app this morning he's said that now is a good time to move and doesn't want his daughter to hear bad things about him. He keeps hinting and leaving and really the bad image he has is down to his own actions.

It'd be a shame if we lost him but there will always be someone else to replace him. No one player is bigger than the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a very good player don't get me wrong but if he does leave I'm not to bothered really the amount of trouble he causes I was much more upset when Torres left

{Ed052's Note - This is what you've all been waiting for. A little profiles on Aspas, I've just knocked up quickly.
http://www.player-profiles.co.uk/iago-aspas.php
Cheers.}

Believable24 Unbelievable13

Ed your aspas profile virtually writes off Suarez. I know it seems most likely but can you write him off already? {Ed052's Note - I believe he will go}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree eds suarez is off. thank god for that his a great tallent but how many times does he lose the ball and we then go and conceed a goal. not to mention the biting the diving the constant cheating. think we can find better not to mention a team player and may I add a commited player contracts stand for nothing these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed52 your a good man, take a lot of time to do profiles for us. Thumbs up {Ed052's Note - cheers mate}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ed 52 great player profile. Louis

Agree0 Disagree0

Ya cheers for the profile Ed052.
And to the 2nd poster, no name of course, imo either not a Liverpool supporter or else you're deluded

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Ed052, Suarez is Frank Bough i. e. off.
Get 50 mill (he's worth it, if Bale's worth 60mill +) and reinvest it wisely.
Could be a blessing in disguise, though I'm currently gutted.

Andy.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't find anyone better than suarez because there are only two players that are better than him at what he does and ronaldo or messi wouldn't join Liverpool. And what about the goals he scores, without his goals we would have come 18th this seqson {Ed001's Note - or someone else in his position, as we wouldn't have just played with ten men in case you didn't realise, would have scored some and the rest of the team might have stepped up and added a few too. Especially as the forward in his place might actually have passed to a player in a better position sometimes.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks eds for the profile. Any chance you could do a Luis Muriel one? I know its by no means a strong chance to get him but could be a possibility if suarez goes as we will need another creator/goal scorer type player and I personally don't get to watch much Serie A games except results as i'm from Australia, only get to see EPL, European and a bit of La Liga and Bundesliga. Anyway hope you can if you get time and if the rumours strengthen in the coming days/weeks.
Cheers {Ed052's Note - I will do a profile on Muriel, if you could post a request on the site please mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 19:55:09
Would Mario Gomez be a possibility for Liverpool this summer? Excellent goalscorer and out of favour at Bayern (presuming Luis Suarez does in fact leave the club).

Thanks {Ed002's Note - With no interested parties in England so far it looks like Fiorentina might take him to replace Jovetic.}

Believable9 Unbelievable29

If he goes he goes hopefully alonso will be in the deal as well and if chelsea still owe o
Us money for Torres get him back sign david villa and then with rite a going to barca get tello then will sorted

Agree0 Disagree0

You lot are living in dream land,. Bye bye suarez, you will not be missed.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 19:33:13
obv if suarez goes. i'd like us to give david villa and mario gomez a go. they would not cost excessive amounts in terms of a fee. 10 to 12m I reckon. finishers d pair of m. obv if get 40 t 50 m for suarez. as much as I love him its becoming a circus, he's too much 4 me now. in an ideal world he would stay but he's always in the news 4 us 4 all the wrong reasons ( apart from his genius). we could still go 4 ericksen etc
5gold stars
5 gold stars

Believable15 Unbelievable34

Mario gomez maybe, but both players you have mentioned won't give up their wages and champions league football to come to Liverpool

intitiwetrust

Agree0 Disagree0

If Andy Carroll doesn't suit BR's system, what makes you think that Mario Gomez would?

Agree0 Disagree0

If he does go I hopefully we get alonso in with the deal mad then buy david villa and if chelsea still owe of for Torres get him Bach and if riena goes to bar a get tello and we should still have a bit to spend

Agree0 Disagree0

Comparing Andy Carroll to Mario Gomez. ?

Please. Have a word with yourself

Eddie

Agree0 Disagree0

Mario gomez is a lot better than carrol all round and knows where the net is but we won't get either so no point in carrying this on

Eds, is there any interest in Nemanja Matić of Benfica?

Much appreciated, keep up the good work and best wishes in the coming months.

Jack the Map {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverool.}

Believable1 Unbelievable18

This guy looked very good the few times I watched him in Europa this year. Why did it not work out at Chelsea for him?

Jason {Ed002's Note - He went as part of the Luiz deal. He has done very well indeed.}

Hi Ed001

Heard anything on the left back situation? Digne/sandro/aurtenetxe?

Or whether we're going to sell Johnson?
He was woeful last night! But that is Hodgsons middle name :)

Thanks

Mac {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard anything on a left back recently, but we won't until a move is actually made, the club have tightened up all the leaks. We only know what is happening so far because the selling clubs have loose lips! I don't expect Johnson to go anywhere this summer, his form has dipped considerably and his wages are high for a right back, but that also makes him difficult to sell. I expect him to stay, as his ability to cover left back makes him useful.}

Believable4 Unbelievable12

Digne is VERY unlikely. We would have to sell Enrique as both want to be first choice at their club, plus beat almost all of Europe's top clubs to his signature. Monaco or PSG most likely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed001

I'd be very disappointed if we didn't get a replacement for Suarez in this window if he's sold, I don't think we have enough quality up top to get top four

I personally would love Aubameyang as he's quick, can finish, and is versatile, your thoughts on him?

Also your thoughts on Atsu? I am unsure on him he looks scarily similar to Zaha which is worrying, are we close to a deal for him?

Thanks

Mac {Ed001's Note - I haven't seen enough of Aubameyang to judge him, to be honest, he does look quick though. Atsu I have to say looks raw, but he does offer versatility, which is a plus, along with the potential to be moulded into a player that suits us.}

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 16:53:49
Ed, do you know how long Barcelona have to activate the clause in Luis Alberto's loan spell to make the deal to them permanent? {Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

Believable3 Unbelievable12

Sit back relax, if we get him we get him, no one hadn't herd off him until late last nite

Agree0 Disagree0

I read it was until the 31st may

Agree0 Disagree0

They have until 11:59 PM tomorrow

YnWa3107

Agree0 Disagree0

End of today I believe, but we'll have to just wait and see.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen on another site they have until tomorrow 31st to sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

They have until tomorrow, but more importantly than that is the fact that they have absolutely no plans to whatsoever which makes it kind of irrelevant thankfully

Samsam9000

Agree0 Disagree0

They have until the 31st of May.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Echo report tonight that the deadline is the 15th of June!

Eds, any chance of Lukaku to Liverpool this summer? {Ed001's Note - it would be a huge shock if he did join us.}

Believable19 Unbelievable12

Zero. Mourinho rates him VERY VERY highly. As he should.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would this be a chock ed? if suarez decides to leave and chelsea bring in 1 or 2 strikers lukaku might want to leave. he might not want to loaned out again. malta {Ed001's Note - he cost them £18m, he is young, Mourinho rates him highly, he has already publicly commented that he is fine with another year on loan and they don't need to sell. It would be a shock.}

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 17:16:57
Ed002 what is the situation with navas, are we trying to buy him? {Ed002's Note - I would think he would be too much of a risk.}

Believable3 Unbelievable17

Do you think we stand a chance/have a genuine interest in buying him ed002? {Ed002's Note - I cannot really answer questions wihn "a chance" in them. It seems high risk and unlikely.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not. Too weak both mentally and physically. Would be an enormous gamble.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 18:48:03
Hope not. Not with his high anxiety issues. €20M (perhaps) can be spent wisely on some1 else like Arda Turan (hoping)

Agree0 Disagree0

A Risk? Why because he's good, Same way Mata was a risk. and ended up with downing playing left back, hmmm {Ed001's Note - not in the slightest, he is a risk because he is older than Mata, at an age where he is not likely to improve. But most of all because he has serious homesickness issues that used to be so bad that he couldn't even travel with the squad to away games at one point. He has had treatment, it has improved, but it is still a risk that it won't affect his play, a huge risk. If he was 2 or 3 million, it might be a risk worth taking, but 20m+ becomes too big a risk.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Too much of an outlay required to take a chance. He is a quality player but, for 20mil, comes with home sickness issues that are too serious to take a chance on. 10mil would be pushing it but worth it, 20mil and we can find better else where.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marca (Spanish newspaper): "Real have agreed a deal with Suarez and will pay Liverpool the £40m buy-out clause. "

This paper usually has the correct information.

Nobody in their right mind would turn down Real Madrid.

Good luck Luis Suarez.

Thank you.

Velasquez.

Believable35 Unbelievable46

There is no buyout clause the 40 million offer just gives them permission to speak to him nothing else

Agree0 Disagree0

If I'm not mistaken the buy out clause isn't 40 million he can talk to clubs if there's an offer above that figure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good job he's proven he's not in his right mind then!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 17:50:40
I would, don't care who it was.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you want to go to Real? No manager? Well off top place in La Liga. Spend loads on players then get then ruin them if they don't perform. They're not that attractive a proposition.
They like us are in transition

Agree0 Disagree0

They, unlike us, are in the CL. Oh, and have tons of great players. Real is a big step up from us at the mo, unfortunately.

Agree0 Disagree0

Such a well written article, clearly well researched, they have even gone out of their way to reduce his ban to a 6 game ban and make note of what would be "tapping up" if it were true!

40m buys you some decent talent so I'd take it and move on. He's a great player and its a shame he gets trashed by the press (he does bring it on himself though).

No man is bigger than the club

YNWA

JP

Agree0 Disagree0

Marca saying a bid has been made is real madrids way of tapping up a player, they do it all the time.
Suarez has said he's happy to stay so take his word for it and stop panicking, he's not going anywhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

Madrid are a better proposition than us at the moment for sure. But I'd urge any player that wants to leave Liverpool to really think long and hard about it, because I can't think of many who go on to better things and get the same adulation anywhere else, if they do leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

This Suarez talk is boring. It'll be the same every window until he leaves with the rumours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marca are no better than the Daily Star or suchlike.

Suarez may well end up leaving, but I'd imagine the article was no more than guesswork.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Marca basically a Real organ (like the Mirror over here for the Mancs)?

Chillax.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is going to get very old, very quickly.

Club should hold out for 50m, accept 45m, and move on.

Enough of this circus.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who thinks Luis is staying at LFC is out of their mind, he's as good as gone, I'd bet all I have he won't be at LFC at the start of the new season. He doesn't seem entirely happy to me so we should let him go with a pat on the back and say thank you. Despite his mistakes from time to time, he'll always be welcome at Anfield and you never know he can still come back some day. In the meantime we should take 50 million for him and buy four or five excellent players to bolster the squad. THEN we will stand a good chance of CL football in 2014/2015. if it means letting Luis go to get us back to the top, then so be it. The club must always come first. Brendan has proven to be a good manager and has done well in his first season, imagine how well he will do with four or five new exciting players in the squad, have faith in him, I can see us actually winning the Premiership now, yes, it's far off at the moment, but we are closing the gap, little by little, don't be surprised if we get 4th or 3rd next season, it could very well happen. Let's just keep the faith and support Brendan all the way, through the good times and the bad times.

Red Number 9

Agree0 Disagree0

Already old.

I'd take 45 and go get Hulk for 35 after he puts in a transfer request.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you think Hulk is worth 35mil you want your head testing

Agree0 Disagree0

If we are to believe what is being written in the press, I would urge suarez to look what happened to a certain mr torres. the grass is not always greener on the other side. stay with a club that is definitely moving in the right direction, and worry that if he went to real madrid, they are a club in transition, and don't even have a manager at the present. if I was him i'd stay and be part of the future

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 16:05:12
Eds, any chance in Dyabla or Miccoli from Palermo, as they have been relegated to Serie B. Would be great additions to the squad

ChrisLFC {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Believable2 Unbelievable17

Miccoli is 34 next month, doesn't exactly fit the bill.

Eds,

Both Suarez and Bale are on Madrid radar but surely they could accomondate both financially. is it a case of il take which everone I can get. Who do you think they would prefer?

Thanks Edsters!

Big Al {Ed002's Note - They want both and more.}

Believable9 Unbelievable16

Just imagine Ronaldo, Bale and Suarez

I still think Messi and Neymar would be a better prospect next season.

30 May 2013 16:31:42
is it true that muriel has been looked at for replacing suarez if he goes?this guy is a real talent. great dribbling, skills, technique and finishing too. and are Liverpool interested in juan quintero, another colombian sensation? {Ed002's Note - Muriel has been looked at but no interested declared as far as I understand. Quintero, no.}

hi eds, if suarez goes to madrid any chance of a swap for a player, benzema/alonso/higuian? {Ed002's Note - I would doubt two of those would be interested.}

Only Alonso eds?

Worth a try though ed!

Hi eds, what's the latest on papadopoulos? {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new.}

Believable9 Unbelievable5

30 May 2013 15:36:21
A question eds, do you think that Erik Lamela could be off interest if suarez goes? And what do you konw of Luis Alberto as a player? Any good? Thanks in advance!
Ash {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath about Lamela.}

Believable4 Unbelievable9

THink we've done very well getting Alberto. Think Suso but a bit more end product. Will be back up for the front line along with Aspas, Sterling and Borini. Suso loaned out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lamela is class but his price is extortionate and I don't think, given the current complexion of the squad, that he would be a good addition.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 13:34:24
Hi Eds,
do you have any update about the Clement Grenier situation? Do we even have interest in him? {Ed002's Note - Lyon's Grenier is of interest to AC Milan, Arsenal, Juventus and Chelsea at the right price. The right price for Lyon is considerably higher when Chelsea and other EPL teams are interested and it will quite possibly price him out of the market.}

Believable11 Unbelievable4

30 May 2013 15:12:49
Reports that a fee has been agreed with Madrid for Suarez?
Apparently there is a 40m release? Any turth in this Eds?
If so, it is down to Suarez? Do you think that will be the end of him in a LFC shirt? {Ed001's Note - it is not a release clause, just allows them to speak to Luis. If he likes their offer he will force his way out like he did to join us, players have the power.}

Believable22 Unbelievable8

Suarez will leave

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 15:10:08
Hold on to your hats. This is a biggy!

Spanish paper Marca claims Real Madrid have struck a £40m deal with Liverpool for Luis Suarez. They add Suarez will sign a four-year deal and earn a pay-rise. {Ed002's Note - His agent has been in Spain talking to Real Madrid but Suarez cannot talk to them without the permission of Liverpool.}

Believable5 Unbelievable17

Funny you say the agent has been to madrid he came out to tv that he won't be going nowhere

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesn't really matter what Marca say, the £40m is only a figure that allows the bidding club to talk to Suarez. This is not the price that LFC would have to sell at. that is a price that they will set themselves on what they see as Suarez's market value.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 15:09:21
Eds I know your fed up with the Suarez saga already but Marca reporting that he's agreed a 4 year contract with Real Madrid. Any truth in these?! {Ed002's Note - His agent has been in Spain talking to Real Madrid but Suarez cannot talk to them without the permission of Liverpool.}

Believable6 Unbelievable9

And yet his agent has come out and said suarez is going nowhere in this transfer window

Agree0 Disagree0

Then why is his agent there then? never heard so much crap in all my life

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 14:36:38
hey ed's,
just heard that papa will stay at schalke, so his agent says! what are the chances of this being true or are they playing hard ball to get him better terms with potential suitors?
Also has the fee been agreed for aspas as the amazing source that is the mirror claims that personal terms are sorted but the fee is still being discussed!
Even after aspas and alberto are we still looking at other forward players or is dcm going to be the next position?
p. s great site, really helps especially with the amount of players that LFC get linked with nowadays {Ed002's Note - Chelsea were surprised how high the asking price was - which given his injury problems makes them nervous and they are looking elsewhere. I would suspect there will be no takers at the desired price.}

Believable11 Unbelievable4

30 May 2013 07:53:56
Eds if Suarez were to leave this summer, would luis muriel be a possibility?. thanks {Ed002's Note - There was plenty of interest in Luis Muriel over the summer but none I am aware of from Liverpool. Whilst he has signed a new long term contract at Udinese, there is still interest being shown by Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Napoli and a move this summer seems likely.}

Believable7 Unbelievable1

30 May 2013 15:04:10
Not Really a Rumors but was checking out the pics from the Kit sales at midnight and noticed a white jersey (7th pic down) in the same style as the new kit but when I went to LFC's store online and click the away kit and its black out as in they haven't released it yet. ED's do you know what this white jersey is? I couldn’t find it as a training kit on LFC's online store either. Could this possibly be the away kit accidently released? {Ed001's Note - they do that to keep it secret until launch. We get this question every time a new kit is due to appear.}

Believable5 Unbelievable7

White kit is keeper kit.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 16:16:37
New goalies top is white! Looks like a outfield kit!

Agree0 Disagree0

The white one is the home goalkeeper's jersey

Agree0 Disagree0

The white jersey you refer to is the goal keeper jersey. its the new home one. Looks better than the rumoured away strips to be honest. will definitely purchase the home

Agree0 Disagree0

The White Kit is a keepers shirt - Looks boss in short sleeve, and i'm getting that with Coutinho on the back. Really wish it were the away kit

Agree0 Disagree0

Its the keepers jersey saw pic with reina wearing white shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 14:52:37
hi eds, great site.
Just read that Marca (respectable Spanish newspaper) says that Real Madrid have met the £40 million buy-out clause for Luis suarez. could u shed any light on this please.
cheers {Ed001's Note - there is no buy out clause, just a clause allowing them to speak to the player.}

Believable2 Unbelievable6

If £40m is not a buy out clause. The player is allowed to discuss a move. What happens next? Could Madrid turn around after agreeing terms the player confirms he wants out and will never return to Liverpool etc at that point can they say. erm actually we only wish to pay £25m as his terms were higher than expected etc. Are we at that point totally stuffed? {Ed002's Note - I expect this will drag on some time. Best ignore the financials.}

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 14:51:28
BBC reporting that Marca has stated that Real have agreed terms with Liverpool.

Any truth in that Eds?

Chaki {Ed001's Note - Marca have said it yes, not convinced it is quite that simple.}

Believable3 Unbelievable11

The S*N also stated THE TRUTH take no notice of what the papers are saying luis is giving LFC another year

Agree0 Disagree0

No-one should really be surprised by the story as Real conduct all their transfers through Marca newspaper. It's their way of stirring a player's interest without it being seen as tapping up.

If Suarez is to go I really hope that the club put the arm into Real instead of rolling over and meekly accepting whatever scraps fall from the Madrid table.

I would settle for Benzema, Alvaro Morata and a few quid. if they truly want Suarez.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 14:45:38
Just read Benzema Could be offered By madrid as part of a player + fee transfer for suarez. Seems unlikely but if suarez is really willing to go we need to bring in a big name striker, what you think?

Believable16 Unbelievable16

I like Benzema, to be fair I can't see why he would want to come to us

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see how Liverpool can attract players of this calibre without Champions League football, let alone without European football in any way.

We have Carling cup and F. A cup opportunities, as well as Premier League football to offer, other than that we are not in any shape to offer huge wagers to Real cast off's. I'd understand if Xabi were included in a deal or was allowed to leave and desired to come back to Liverpool but only because of his fondness and history with us, which would still surprise me tbh.

Less Ego and more Iago. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Not going to happen but benzema plus 15 20 million would be excellent business, these things rarely happen though in reality but hey let's see what happens

Zeus Katz

Agree0 Disagree0

Take that all day long. If Luis really wants out there is no point keeping him. Benzema is awesome. If this happens early with say £20m plus player we have got a goal scoring top player and decent money for another creative player like Tello or Eriksen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Benzema wouldn't want it. don't like his ego either

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need a big name striker we need a big talent striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2013 14:43:30
Hey Eds,
Just heard that Monaco were set to beat us and Tottenham to the signing of Ben Arfa from Newcastle for 10million pounds? Do you know if we actually had any genuine interest in him?
Dani
(Also, were we ever looking at Dries Mertens?) {Ed001's Note - none that I know of, too injury prone to be worth the price. We have looked at Mertens but I think our two Spaniards are instead of him and other options.}

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Mertens would be a very good addition to the team, plays RW or LW scores goals has pace, good dribbling and crossing

As we will more than likely be without Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez for the start of the season, BR is looking to bring in an experienced striker on a short term deal alongside Iago Aspas, it's likely that it will be either David Villa, who is on his way out of Barca, or Fernando Torres, who Abramovich is looking to cash in on for as little as 1o million pounds

We are also in the market for Loic Remy if any of the above deals fail to materialise.

It's likely that Downing will leave for Fulham for 8-10 million, That money will go towards any players scouted this summer in the u21s

So it will be a busy window as always for Liverpool

YNWA

Believable13 Unbelievable22

Well I thought Villa was going to Spurs and as for Nando, I can't see it. I think he would work well in the current setup but doubt he would come back

Agree0 Disagree0

Remy is a no go.

Villa will stay in Spain & wages would be a major issue.

Torres would jump at the chance to come back but I don't see it as he is a ST and Rodgers likes his players to play across the front

Remy? I'd wait and see with him for obvious reasons.

Hi Ed was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me?
1. How much would Luis Alberto cost?

2. Christian Eriksen has apparently opened the door for a move to Liverpool. Just rumours or truth?

3. Finally, with Suarez's agent coming out and saying Suarez is happy at Liverpool, do you think he is really happy or is it just Pere Guardiola trying to help Liverpool get the highest bid possible?

4. Is there any interest from Liverpool in Papadopoulos of Schalke?
Thank You.
ROI. {Ed001's Note - 1. If you mean the lad from Sevilla, the deal is something in the region of 5m, though I am unsure if that is pounds or euros. Also I think that the deal includes add ons which could take the price higher.
2. Truth, but only keeping his options open as it doesn't seem Dortmund are as keen as he thought.
3. Again I just see it as keeping options open, he will wait and see what offers are on the table then decide.
4. There is interest, the price would need to come down though or he won't be going anywhere.}

Cheers for posting it Ed! Wasn't really sure about any of them so thanks for helping mate.

Eds,
Is it true we already submit 12m offer for Kyriakos Papa? But Schalke wants 15m instead. rumor his father/agent will hold talk wth Liverpool is it true?

Suarez likely sold & with Sturridge injury prone, any name touted to replace Suarez? Jackson Martinez, Soldado maybe?

Heard tht if offer come around 40m or more, Suarez is allow to hold talk with that club for possible destinattion. Care to comment?

If Reina sold, any pparticular keeper that we look at? Begovic, alex Mccarty or even Casillas?

thnx much Eds.
Getting addicted already to this site since transfer window approaching.
-Zareef- {Ed001's Note - personally I don't expect a like for like replacement for Suarez as there isn't one out there. I have no idea what is happening with the Greek defender, it seems his injury history has scuppered any deal due to the high asking price. It could be just a bit of bartering though. I am not sure Reina will go, it seems Barca are looking elsewhere now.}

Hi eds, what are the chances of Thiago Alcantara joining Liverpool this summer? he has a release clause of around £15 million and I think he would be perfect as he could be backup or first team CAM and is wantin to leave narcs this summer {Ed001's Note - difficult to say, there is a lot of interest in him and we seem to be looking elsewhere. So I would have to say it is unlikely.}

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Would like to see him at Liverpool!

Off to Manchester United with Moyes

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be amazed if he moved to a club not in the CL but it would be a massive coup if we managed it. Seems like we're not wasting our efforts on pursuing it though as it's so unlikely. Pity, as talk of Atsu, Aspas, Capel etc. doesn't fill me with optimism for a top 4 push tbh.

Hey Ed's I'm looking for a staight answer if any of you can, but started to hear reports of Luis Muriel being a replacement for Suarez. Have any of you heard anything about it? Thanks again for everything Eds take care. {Ed001's Note - only thing I know is we have scouted him and that Udinese are willing to sell for the right price.}

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Very similar in style so he will only join as a replacement for Suarez, i'd imagine he would be expensive though at around £18M - £20M

This man would be an ideal replacement for suarez if he were to go, I can't see many other players who we could go for apart from benteke or doumbia (cska).

According to Spanish newspaper Marca Real Madrid have agreed a 4 year deal with Suarez. Fee just needs to agreed with LFC

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Isn't that tapping up?

Agree0 Disagree0

£50M hopefully I don't want any of there players as they are all on high wages and would probably not want to come anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was bloody quick?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not but good luck to him if its the truth. Always gave everything on the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are they allowed to discuss contracts with the player if they haven't agreed a fee with the club {Ed002's Note - Not without permission.}

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the same report that reports he's currently serving a 6 match ban? Most likely it's just positioning from Real trying to unsettle people.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt that be a case of tapping up?

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he stays but if he is to go then we should 100% hold out for a minimum £50m. He's under contract & there aren't many players at his level. Do hope he stays though not only as he's class but I can't see us attracting a replacement anywhere near his level sure who'd come to us when our next best player is Gerrard and he's ageing.

any of the eds no if luis muriel would be looked it if surarez goes or is it lies thanks {Ed001's Note - I am sure he would be of interest, the issue with him is the price, which would not be such a problem if Suarez goes. We have had a number of looks at him throughout the season, so it is a possible contender. Though, as we have seen, no one will know for sure until a bid is made.}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ed if we manage to get him along with one of Lamela, Rodrigo (Benfica) or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang we could very effectively replace Suarez's influence on the team.
What do you reckon Ed are they achievable targets?
I consider them pretty much within our range if Suarez leaves as pretty much all are young and won't be on huge wages and probably would relish a chance in the PL. {Ed002's Note - No.}

BR looking at bringing Bojan in for a fee believed to be around £12.5m, Possibly a season long loan with an option to buy would suit us better? Although I would prefer Tello, or using that 12. 5 towards a bid for C. Eriksen.

Believable3 Unbelievable13

Wont happen, he's garbage anyway, what's he done for AC milan the last 2 seasons?

Agree0 Disagree0

He is really not very good. I don't rate this kid, he's out muscled more often than not. He played for Barcelona and scored 19 goals in 122 games, he's over rated and out of his depth.

Absolutely rubbish, if Rodgers signs him then we will all be very aware of Bojan's short comings on a football pitch.

Hey Reds

So heres what I know ( Which is pretty much what everybody knows )

Toure Done

Aspas Done

Alberto ( Really excited about him ) 99percent, waiting on deadline to pass for other team to lose there chance of signing him

Greek Papa - he's father ( Agent? ) Is in Liverpool now and is due today or tomorrow for talks

Also if everything goes ahead there's a medical arranged for tomorrow

And I don't believe this but been told from my cousin in Liverpool that at the kit launch you wernt allowed to get suarez on the back of jerseys, They said they had no z's, Surely they would have had everything ready for kit launch

YNWA

Believable19 Unbelievable17

So that must rule out Zinedine Zidane.

Agree0 Disagree0

Feasible, except for the last bit, utter tosh

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably just ran out of Z's as you can get any player you want on your shirt you can get your own name on if you like so don't see nothing into it

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't believe that we are not allowing fans to get Suarez printed on their tops, from a sales perspective if they are stupid enough to buy a top with his name and he leaves the fan has to buy another top, more money.

Very cynical way of looking at it but I can't see the club complaining or putting preventative measures in place, they are afterall being run as a commercial business!

More sales = More money. Hate that i'm even thinking this way but I am.

K-Man

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of bull the transfers for players are full names i. e. Suarez is Suarez they only use separate letters if the name is not a player i. e. Smith would be letters S M I T H.

Ordered two junior shirts online just this morning with Suarez 7? No problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a couple of points. Firstly, Suarez is in the video ad for the 2013/14 kits so I think someone was probably pulling your leg! Secondly, Kyriakos Papadopoulos will not be leaving Shalke according to his agent Paul Koutsoliakos in an interview with Bild.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol papa agent has told tv that he's staying! Standard bull from a typical person who doesn't know what day it is. :/

And KP's father is described as his representative, not sure what that means

Luis Alberto is really good the only reason Barce aren't taking him is because they don't have the extra little pockets of $ to spend on those type of players.

Lol no Z's that's rich

Morning Eds & fellow Reds,

I'm seeing lots of rumours and newspaper reports claiming the deal for Aspas has been tied up, but figures are being quoted between £6-10m. His parent club, Celta Vigo, are in a relegation dogfight with 1 game to play (Espanyol on Saturday). My question for you Eds is this. If they are relegated will we see a lower price i. e.6mill? Or if they remain in La Liga will we have to stump up more towards the top end of 10mill?

I have never seen him play, hope Brendan has unearhed another gem here as it looks pretty nailed on.

Thanks as always for all the hard work Eds,

Fowlers Nostril {Ed001's Note - the price is agreed and not related to that at all. They would need it all just to survive relegation anyway.}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I have to disagree with you there eds, aspas buy out close lowers if they get relegated

Agree0 Disagree0

THe Ed is correct. The price is agreed already.
If relegated the clause was at €7million but to get him before other teams and to avoid a bidding war we agreed the price of €9million. Good business. if there was a bidding war it could have gone to this anyway.

The confusion of the figures co es from €9Million is £7.7million.

I hope this helps. And I'm 90% sure on this information

hi eds,
any chance of navas? {Ed001's Note - Sevilla are looking to sell players, Navas has had treatment for his homesickness and has made statements regarding wanting a new challenge. It seems interest in him, so far at least, has been a little muted, probably because most teams are nervous of how he will adapt. Right now, we have a good chance, if we can put enough money on the table to convince Sevilla to sell, but I would expect others to move in and try and get him too. I really don't know what the lad himself really wants to do with himself, he says he wants a new challenge, but will he really want to leave Spain altogether? Though he might not have a choice, as only Barca and Madrid look in a position to buy him there, neither have yet made a move for him. It is hard to say what will happen, whether we will even really follow up the initial interest is hard to tell. It is such a big risk.}

Believable9 Unbelievable20

Are we really considering Navas ed? I can't see why when his return is quite poor for someone considered to be world class. His goals and assists over the last 3 years are about even with Downing, and even though seville need money they would probably still get 12-15m for a player who had zero goals and only 6 assists in 36 games this year? {Ed001's Note - he does seem, on the face of it, poor, but the stats only tell a small part of the story. Sevilla are in turmoil, they have been for a few years now.}

Obviously Suarez has messed up again and looks like he's on the move so who would be the primary replacement? {Ed001's Note - Sanchez is not really a striker, more of a wide player, which is what we are mostly looking for. Hence the sudden interest in Navas, as the club becomes aware of Sevilla's need to sell.}

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Navas would be good as he is a goal threat, has pace can dribble and gets in crosses but he is homesick, regardless of treatment I believe it would be a big risk as his fee will be £15M+
