Hi eds, been told by a snr players girlfriend that carroll is defanitly on his way out, i really think carroll will come good i would be gutted if he left, have u any more info on this?

Joeyk {Ed010's Note - your source is legit why are you asking us?}

I dunno why my reply isnt coming up?
Do any ov the eds know any info on carroll, really worried thats hes going now!

Joeyk {Ed001's Note - all I have heard is that he was unhappy about the rumours in the papers.}

I think sky have just read this post as they are now reporting a potential swap deal with tevez coming to Liverpool and Carroll going the other way ! Or they've been on Twitter

The snr players girlfriend that said this was pretty sure that he was going, i thought all the rumours were just rubbish untill i heard this.

Joeyk

I was hoping u would reasure me n tell me that shes talking b****cks, but no word ov a lie that is what i have been told! I thought all the carroll rumour were noncence, do u know anything on it?

Joeyk {Ed001's Note - all I know is he was upset about the rumours, but all that means is that the players know as much as we do. Because he had no idea if it was true or not from what I can gather.}

No you haven't so why bother ?

When a player issues a statement but there is complete silence from the club - well, I think that speaks for itself.

Utter bull.

Oh yeah and the G/F has the inside channel that no-one else has! Crap!

Well, there are many spelling of *definitely* but surely yours takes the biscuit

'been told by a snr players gf' - um, no you haven't
'Carroll on his way out' - no he isnt
Joeyk - doesn't have any contacts or know anyone remotely connected to the club
Joeyk = proper muppet

the doctor

Ed why are you allways igronent to people on here

Actually mate, i went to school with the player in question, n i attended the after dinner ov carras testamonial through a few contacts i have at the club, if u want photographic evidence i have plenty, also a close friend ov mine works for the agency that represents kelly and shelvey and a few more young reds

Joeyk

Or you could have just made all that up too...

Kenny's my uncle and told me he's not moving. See how easy it is.

Oh well then joeyk, if you have all of these contacts, surely you can source your own information rather than coming on here and asking the eds to verify your gossip?

i'll make this clear: andy carroll is not for sale. he is going nowhere

Lol nice one ed

Nice one JoJo, you went to school with the player in question - can we have the name of this school so that we can report it because clearly spelling was not included in the curriculum.
And then because we were too smart to fall for your statement that Kenny and DC sit around a table with the wags discussing top secret transfer info you tell us another so called 'friend' works as an agent for Kelly and Shelvey!
JoJo JoJo JoJo, come on JoJo, run along and enjoy the day and accept you don't know anyone.
the doctor

"igronent?" why can't you spell?

Hi all,
Just been told by a fotty buff dealing for carroll and tevez going on today.

Jojo?? Confused, i appologise for spelling mistakes, i suffer with dyslexia and i try to improve my spelling, also its hard typing long messages on my phone on the way to work without error, really wish i hadnt of put anything on here now, i was worried that my source would find out, now am realising its not worth the hassle from the mindless individules, next time i here anything i will keep it to myself, to be honest though i wasnt really trying to spread what i have been told i was asking the eds a question

Joeyk

30 Jan 2012 23:24:52
who would you lot least like to see sign before the deadline 2moro? {Ed010's Note - wes brown would just be the worst}

Paul Konchevski (spelling) would be a nightmare again. {Ed010's Note - long as his mum is not in tow}

Gary Neville

Ratface Neville has to win. Evra a close 2nd

We need a striker so im saying Voronin =P

Fernando Tithead

Rafa .

Heskey, Djouff, Morientes and.....wait for it.....SEAN DUNDEE!

Len

Torres

Bramble! {Ed016's Note - Poulsen}

Roy Keane coming out of retirement...

Everyone complaining we need a striker and we re-sign Heskey the look on our faces...oh wait

Djimi Traore.
Or Tevez, how many little kids thinking they're able to predict the future and think he'll save us...

Sean dundee

Stewart Downing....oh no wait....aaahhh dahm...

Evra lol

Helicopter is on standby as Kenny looks to bring Ryan Babel back on loan until end of the season as an extra attacking option.
PJ & Duncan

This will then change destination several times before ending up in an entirely new location. Much like the original sale last January.

That is one long range helicopte

Flying pigs also on standby.

Lol . someone shoot this guy in the face with a paintball gun.

Mr Slonk The Red

Is this the same helicopter Djibrel Cisse is on for the left wing?

DJ Dave {Ed010's Note - liverpool fc have several helicopters constantly hovering over key cities in Europe ready to pounce don't worry}

U silly boy

Big jeff

Wouln`t bring him back even if he brought Wesley Sneider with him,

Anyone who uses "Ryan Babel" and "attacking option" in the same sentence must not have spent much of the past four years watching LFC.

Ryan has the Babelcopter so tell Kenny to cool his jets and give Ryan a tinkle on the Babelphone, job done.

Didnt you know that sky sports news own that helicopter, just to add that bit more excitment to the madness!!

The 'Babelcopter' as it's known

While we all obviously doubt this rumour anyway, as Babel was pretty useless for us, thought I'd use some stats to add extra doubt - Babel has played in 17 out of Hoffenheim's 19 games this season, so why would they let him leave on loan?

Actually Babel's best position during the game is operating the Twitter feed.

Through the Storm

Babel never left us, he has played 18 times this season.... he has just finally managed to become completely invisible on the pitch after 3-4 years of practising it.......

Merf

This is one of the 2 copters that flew out of the Irish training camp during the last window to deliver Doyle of Wolves to us.One never arrived and vanished into the Irish Sea Triangle.Much like Doyle has since then.I never could figure out why that poster had 2 copters to deliver Doyle unless they had half of him in each copter!

Is this the same helicopter you saw in Thomas the tank engine while you were doing your reading practice before your mum turned the lights out?

Id rather sign P.J and Duncan......But The Toon would want at least £50m for the another of their comedy acts !

30 Jan 2012 22:06:41
Hi Eds
I seem to remember one of you saying that in your opinion we will sign 1 or 2 senior players. Since the king has come out and said we wont sign any senior players has your view changed or do you still think we will sign somone for the first team. {Ed010's Note - there is 23 hours left of the January Transfer window anything can happen}

Yeah you could even talk sense Ed. Oh look there goes a flying pig.

30 Jan 2012 22:54:52
Djibril Cisse is actually fling in to John Lennon for talks with DC tomorrow! He will add pace / direct movement to the forward line / right wing.

All hail lord Cisse!

He's in talks with qpr mate

big b

Sadly only to join qpr mate!

QPR...

That would be class

Id slit my wrists if he ever came back. One of the worst signings ever

This is better than Jackanory!!

Cisse or Babel on the wing?!

Can we please give Sterling some steroids so he grows up faster.

Through the Storm

He was no good the first time around.. no chance! {Ed016's Note - I always wanted him to succeed, was a pitty he got some nasty injuries}

Yet but hes joined qpr mate

He cscored a pen in the Champions league final - that's good enough for me - he is a true cuilt legend

Are you serious?.. Have you forgotten how lazy he was and how many chances he missed?.. Not to mention the countless strops he had on the pitch when things weren't going his way.. BAD signing and NO CHANCE!

30 Jan 2012 22:53:56
EDS i know that it may be false but Ben smith and Tony Barret have an article in Tomorrow's times that Liverpool may be interested in taking Tevez on loan they are both LFC fans is there any truth in this? {Ed010's Note - There is alot of talk about it on twitter don't forget their main job is to shift papers so they are going to big up the reports}

As i have said if tevez has any noggins he will come too lfc he would be a legend... red blancmonge..

So they obviously know less than you...

ED10,
In all fairness Tony Barrett is one of the better journos when it comes to
Liverpool

30 Jan 2012 22:52:06
Twitter rumour that LFC have offered 12 million euro's for Lucas Barrios, heard anything Ed's? {Ed010's Note - I heard it was a rumour on twitter }

30 Jan 2012 22:48:40
We have made an offer for Fernando Reges of Porto.

Mr Yellow

Source? Or you talking to the ketchup again?

If that's true fair play for stealing a march on everyone else.

Papa G

So that is who every single deal discussed on this sight was a smokescreen for!
Or is he another smokescreen?
Seriously, so much smoke and nothing to screen.
Honestly, I doubt it's like last year, where we were desperatly scouring the entire if Europe for a striker, and ended up with old ponytail. If we don't get our man, we will go back later. Not suddenly go looking for every young talented forward this side of Canada. Now be proud of what we've got, and get some support out there for Andy. He has the ability, he just needs the backing.

30 Jan 2012 22:27:07
Hi this is Darren bent. Thought i would come on here for a laugh. Don't take it the wrong way, but I am not coming to Liverpool. 100% staying with villa. {Ed016's Note - lol}

How can you be Darren Bent when i'm Darren Bent, If your Darren Bent then what number am I Darren Bent thinking of?

therealdarrenbent

Obviously a clever double bluff - Darren YNWA

Thank eff for that Benty lad, well in!

That puts this one to bed then!

Doh . Wish i thought of that.

Mr Slonk The Red

No . 'im darren bent.... i should get my own page. just like macca

I have heated a rumour that you have rejected a potential move because the shopping isn't up to scratch.

Darren bents Judy.

2 Darren Bents is like the blind leading the blind, guess what Darren and Darren we don't want either of you rubbish muppets!
the doctor

Never mind lol sweet dreams,of anfield that is red blancmonge.

No, I'm Darren Bent and so is my wife

Nice one doc call the patient a amblumance ha ha red blancmonge

This is obviously a smoke screen

Blatantly none of u is darren bent. Why would he cum on here. Fools {Ed010's Note - I am Darren Bent}

Hello all, Im Alex Mcleish the third most capped player in all of scotland and I can assure you all that Bent will feel my tiny size 9 right in his ball bag for blowing my plan. Im indeed after a tall pace less striker preferably with a pony tail and a geordie accent to partner the prolific Emile...rather than Bent who in training I can assure you has often put Torres to shame.

Gabby can whinge all he likes, he stays on the wing that way I keep a close eye on him.

Alex

Thanks darren from all

Darren bents s**t

My name's not Darren, but i'm certainly bent!

Im darren bent and so is my wife

Thank God for that Darren!

Hi this is Carlos Tevez. I`m not coming to liverpool either, cause I DONT WANT TO BE IN THIS COUNTRY(THAT INCLUDES YOU REDKNAPP), and if you do sign me i will be good for a month, then I`ll piss of back home!xPinhead.

Hi Darren, You're s**t.

Kthnxbi

30 Jan 2012 22:02:11
Ed, in your opinion do you think we will sign someone? Thanks! {Ed016's Note - Texiera, not David though}

30 Jan 2012 21:15:37
Odds with the bookies are that Tevez stays at Manc City. Aside of that We ARE the bookies favourite if he is going to move. Interesting day ahead tomorrow YNWA {Ed016's Note - don't spend your money on that}

30 Jan 2012 21:25:57
Make of this what you will but.....

I just bumped into Kenny in The Asda, in the frozen produce aisle.

Anyway I said to him, nice smokescreen today about the transfers and he smiled and gave me a wink!

So we must be getting, tevez! {Ed016's Note - lol, you know what, I will be honest here, the first year I was fascinated by transfers was when Michael Owen looked like he was going to come back. I read on the internet Parry and everyone was locked in a meeting, trying to get the deal done. I went to Borders in Cheshire Oaks with my mum, being young at the time, and I saw Rick Parry browsing the Fiction section. I swear on my life that is what I saw. But if I had posted that anywhere, I would have been called ridiculous. Still will be. But he never came back}

Oh no m8 u shouldn't have said anything, he knows ur on to him now and won't sign Tevez tomorrow all cos of u, nice one.

Omg people like you shouldt aloud to post on this! what a bull^hi**er! your actually hilarious!!!

Rip borders in Cheshire oaks {Ed016's Note - ah yes it shut down, I know I will get a lot of stick and I am in no way saying the OP is credible, just saying I just remembered back to that day and laughed, thought I would share a story, oh well}

Last year I bumped was lucky enough to meet Jan Molby. He didn't give me any inside info, as the transfer window had just shut. But I asked him what he thought of the business we'd done and he was kind enough to spend a couple of minutes talking to me.

When I shared it on here I got abused and even called a liar!

Joe

Borders always stunk of BO... Nice story though ED016

That makes perfect sense... Frozen product.! Clearly he is stocking up on microwave meals for a long night of negotiating on deadline day! Did you buy chance notice any argintinian cuisine?

You may of got away with that until you mentioned Asda ?

Kenny shops in Sainsburys...

I did hear him say 'Marina, it makes a nice change shopping in ASDA' as he cheekily tapped his back pocket. That guy, he cracks me up!

30 Jan 2012 21:23:07
Philippe Coutinho has gone on loan to Espanyol from Inter Milan. theres one off the list {Ed016's Note - chorus of "we know"}

30 Jan 2012 21:20:03
Ed I no it does your head in but have to ask is there any further information on the new ground.MATTYLFC {Ed016's Note - Yes! Macca has stated that the young Texiera has signed, pardon in my forgetfulness of the first name. He is reliable, I would expect official confirmation pretty soon}

Eh Ed016 is this texeira lad a builder come to start work on the new ground or you have posted the wrong answer to the post lol
giblet {Ed016's Note - damnit}

Juan carlos
RedAnt

Its on the sporting website that he is gone already

I told you, on this website 3-4 days ago that he wasn't involved in the game against Inter in Sporting's next gen matches, after I visited their official website. So, I must say, i believed then that it's almost complete. Thanks to Macca for confirming it. YNWA

So about this stadium...........?? HAHA

30 Jan 2012 21:37:24
Eds wot are.the chances of us signing tevez or cavani ( on a scale of 1-10) plz post this as my post normally dont make it on to the webpage thnx very much George YNWA!!! {Ed002's Note - Neither will sign.}

U never know on deadline day

On a scale of 1 to 10 about minus 100!

I could have sworn Ed002's a chelsea fan, or just really negative. Liverpool have pulled of many spectacular things before, most spectacularly 2005 nothing to do with transfers but still spectacular, bet everyone in the WORLD was surprised, what's to say KK don't surprise us with a player like tevez or cavani don't be so negative yes it maybe the harsh truth but who wants to read rumours and not be excited by them ??

Stop living in the past, Cavani = Champions league. Liverpool = Europa League.

30 Jan 2012 21:36:57
Latest;No move to Italy forTevez,fingers crossed !!B

I'm sure the Tevez rumours are absolute tosh, but as a lifelong fan, I would rather finish mid-table than succumb to a mercenary like Tevez playing at LFC.

Cantona,Ginola,Anelka,Bellamy,Rooney not to mention a certain Maradona.Beginning to get the picture??

30 Jan 2012 21:32:41
Eds how reliable is the bleacher report site?

Cheers

Paul {Ed001's Note - not very mate, it is just a blog site written by various posters, so it is only as accurate as the writer. The site itself is as reliable as Twitter, it is the person who wrote it that you need to look for.}

30 Jan 2012 21:05:59
Hello again...

So, Fulham set to sign Pavel Pogrebnyak from VfB Stuttgart.

Kenny today insists we will not sign anybody in january, BUT NOW I understand we will sign one striker, who called - Clint Dempsey... :)

Talks over both clubs is done. Fee accepted and everything is ok. Waiting for tommorow news.

Dempsey will arive in Melwood tommorow NIGHT and if everything is ok he will be our player before transfer window closes.

@nbstw {Ed016's Note - nah}

I thought you said yesterday we won't be signing any striker

Last time i checked dempsey was a midfield? {Ed001's Note - he can play pretty much anywhere in midfield and attack.}

Clint Dempsey is not a striker, you tart.

Aren't you the same guy who has posted at least twice that we should all stop speculating as i said you are one of the worst on here for speculation with at least 20 different names now you have alleged are coming into the club so why dont you take a read of one of your earlier posts and stop speculating or at least stop the copy and paste from news now

Utter tosh mate!

In further news, Craig Belllamy is said to be delighted.

@nbstw,you post utter crap nearly every day,are you lonely or just need some notice,cause you should be in the looney bin fella

Nice try. Not having it mate

30 Jan 2012 20:56:42
There will be NO signings of senior players by end of tom. We will wait till summer. Absolute certain of this. {Ed016's Note - just made a signing, not a senior player though}

30 Jan 2012 20:12:54
I'm not one to post fake rumours believe me I don't like getting peoples hopes up or anything. I dont have any sources or anything either. A friend of mine is a photographer at Aston Villa and he reckons there is LFC representatives there this evening. Which can only mean Darren Bent. I don't know if this will materialise to anything but I do trust him, so make of it what you will.

CC {Ed016's Note - shouldnt he have had a camera handy?}

Why does it mean Darren bent, why not the return of heskey?

Sorry ed I dunno whether he was working or not. He just text me what he heard. More than likely be rubbish but I am being genuine here.

CC {Ed016's Note - well cheers man}

Could be anyone Im just giving you my best guess.

CC {Ed016's Note - is he there again tomorrow?}

Could also be albrighton, that would be nice as well :) good young english right winger, would fit the criteria :)

No ed he told me he's not back there till their match Wed. Might just be rubbish.

CC

30 Jan 2012 20:11:37
I posted in December we would not sign de jong now watch out for the midfielder coming {Ed016's Note - you had a 50/50 chance of guessing if he would come or not. You have a 33% chance at being rite at guessing what position a player would be if we did buy one tomorrow taking away the fact it could be a keeper, take away another 10% because it looks unlikely and you are in 23% that you will be correct, 77% that you are wrong, so your odds are around 1 in 4 that you are correct, but I just fipped a coin and your wrong.....}

Some of the worst maths i have ever seen from ed016s... {Ed001's Note - he is from over the water, bless him, they are not known for their maths over there.}

That math is absolute nonsense {Ed016's Note - based on the amount of positions could sign either a defender or midfielder or striker, because he claimed a midfielder not a specific position, he has a one in 3 chance of getting it correct, due to the lack of chance of signing a keeper. But also there is a reason I do not have a career than needs Math, thankfully I was always shite at it}

Great maths Ed, enjoyed that!

Realistic red

Ed016 wer the hell do u get these replies from lol {Ed016's Note - Its almost the end...}

I have a huge headache from trying to follow the math so where's the paracetomol?

Ahhh Ed001 you've explained exactly why Ed016 is bad at maths. If he's from over the water, it's because he could never understand why he could count up to six on one hand. ;) {Ed001's Note - you have seen those pics he posted on Twitter too? He has very hairy palms too for some reason......}

Maths not a strong point ed?

Let's just say it actually was at any point 50% likely De Jong would sign, so that's a 1/2 chance of him not coming that he has taken. Now he has said a midfielder will sign, and you seem to be saying a keeper is out of the question so let's say that it is a 1/3 chance of being correct. Ignore the random decision to minus 10%, and you do 1/2 x 1/3 to get= 1/6 chance, even though the logic fails completely making it undoubtedly incorrect, at least the maths makes some more sense now

Brilliant reply ed,, lessons from mourinho in confusion..

30 Jan 2012 20:05:16
Expect a south American striker tomorrow.
I'll let your imaginations run wild, but mark my words!
Don't forget who posted this..

Jatt {Ed016's Note - "Mark my words!" "Don't forget who posted this." Trademarks of a bullsh*tter}

We need a new button. "LOL @ Ed!"

Why not wait until tomorrow before you write it off? i've posted in good faith ffs {Ed016's Note - I will see, you are not nameless to me, you have an I.P addy}

Another personal favorite ITK

5times*****

Or macca or an ed

Must be a reborn Sivori!!

I never usualy take notice of the numbers at the end of the eds but ed16 is coming out with some quality replies tonight, fair play to you mate your making this depressing transfer window quite amusing, keep it up please

Now if you'd ended your post with "FACT" I'd have believed you!

100% nailed on Fat Ronaldo

So that may be one of Tevez, Barrios, Cavani or Texeira ?

You are one smart guy how did you find out it may have been one of those ? Doesnt have anything to do with their names being on every second post on this site does it ?

30 Jan 2012 19:43:05
Hey ed(s) just so i know when people on here n from other sites was saying that liverpool had sent representatives to holland to speak to gronigen about david texiera was it true or total lies?

ACHILLES.
{Ed001's Note - I have no idea sorry, I have no info on it, I was told we were trying to get a Texeira on loan with a view to buy. But I don't know which Teixeira was meant, either way I was also told we were told it was a no go.}

I can confirm we have signed the young Teixeira from Portugal.

Cheers

Macca {Ed016's Note - Real Macca, at 9:00 p.m English time}

Ye i know that macca thats why i didnt ask a question bout him lol

ACHILLES.

30 Jan 2012 19:01:52
Hi Eds, you guys have not posted my last few texts, so I hope you get this one. Dunc said on his website that Liverpool are tracking the new Fernando Torres. Have any idea who that is?

Thanks. {Ed001's Note - I am sorry I have no idea what the latest fantasy he has made up is.}

It must be that chap who plays for Chelski and is rubbish, cause the "old" F.Torres was a legend who played for us and couldnt stop scoring before his head was turned!
5uarezTimes

Well said 5uarezTimes!

This new torres must be crap

30 Jan 2012 18:58:34
Confirmed on LFC website, 19 year old Danny Ward of Wrexham has signed.

Well there we go told you he would be signing for you saturday night and many on her doubted me saying he was swedish or some bull. andyp MUFC

Champions league here we come!

I'm not sure how people can disagree with this? lol?

We were in desperate need of a 6th choice goalkeeper.

Rafa's Purple Goatie {Ed001's Note - is that why we signed two of them?}

30 Jan 2012 19:30:36
Last year no-one knew anything about Carroll joining until deadline day. Any chance of the same thing happening with any new signings tomorrow eds? {Ed001's Note - there is always a chance, especially with Liverpool running such a tight ship these days, no one really knows anything. Just how it should be.}

No-one knew anything until the last minute because it wasn't even on until the last two days or so. It was 'herd panic' caused by Torres.

True, i remember how shocked we all were.

Just wanna say that I'm in full agreement with ed here ( I'm not one for blowing smoke up the eds holes like some :P ) I would be much happier to be blindsided by a transfer than to predict one correctly (like so many posters seem desperate to do) because it reassures me that the club are operating in the correct way. Or, if you want it the short way...

I'm so glad we're not Spurs

Len

30 Jan 2012 19:27:21
Hi All
I can confirm what Macca is not saying , I have some Fairly close ties to the club and was chatting with a couple of LFC legends before the game Saturday . All transfer talk is very tight lipd , i can say that the club has alot of faith and support for AC and there is 0 chance he will move on . We will spend in the summer and we Will move some players on . I am back in the UK in may and will get more info then .
(ed,s if you need me to send some pics to prove my position i can happily do so )

So basically you know nothing different to the rest of us? What your saying is we will sign players in the summer, no s**t Sherlock! Ok let me have a stap at this ITK stuff, in the summer we will sign a football player

Twaddle

No need for pictures, they'll just trace your ip address haha :)
Dan

We will look out for you, no name!

It wasn't Phill Neil and Jimmy Case by any chance, the legends who are usually present at the hospitality packages in the boot room on match day? Who many many people have met on these packages ?

F*ck me it's John Henry

tops...

Whatever!!

30 Jan 2012 19:14:40
there will be 2 signings tommorow... Marin and Jordan Rhodes!

Matt7lfc

Not a hope!

No there wont be.....

30 Jan 2012 18:54:28
Guillem Balague
Mascherano going nowhere. More rumours + proper transfer stories: Sky Sports News. Send emails. I'll be there from 12.30pm tomorrow

30 Jan 2012 18:40:21
Just been called by Eddie Izzard from Amnesty International.

Anyone thinking of using the phrase " smokescreen " should hit reply to this post and deposit the word in the " amnesty Bin "

You will not be named or shamed it is for the good of all.

There aren't many of these " smokescreens " left due to high demand and the fear is they may become endangered and their numbers will decrease.

Your help is appreciated.

Mr Slonk The Red. : )

What?

I'll sponsor a homeless smokescreen mate!

Good post, funny in the right way, cheers Slonk!
RedRing

Reading your post made me realise how wasteful I've been with smokescreens all my life mum and dad/bosses and many a girl friend, I for one will be a lot more careful in future just in case KK needs some more

30 Jan 2012 18:35:56
Where have the doni rumours came from I don't believe it. I heard he enjoys life here. I don't rate him very highly but think he's not a bad backup if we let him go we will have to play a youngster if reina gets a knock.

Whats happened to Brad Jones? I know he lost his son recently but is he still a Liverpool player?

I rate Doni quite highly , Was fantastic against Rangers

30 Jan 2012 18:34:50
Well i hear napoli have signed a striker not saying this means anything put u never know

I think they signed vargas from U. Chile, but that was at the start of the window, if my memory serves right

And who would that be??

Thats prob because djib cisse possibly going to qpr, so they are just getting a replacement. {Ed001's Note - Cisse was at Lazio, not Napoli.}

Or pandev is tipped to go genoa so he's going to slot in that front three with cavani n lavezzi, cavani isn't leaving Napoli they are in the champions league still

30 Jan 2012 18:34:00
Many people say that psg has the upper hand on cavani, do you think it might be possible that liverpool get him on the count that we have suarez and coates?

sent in by shaky red fan {Ed002's Note - Cavani will not be joing Liverpool. Two clubs have a declared interest - Real Madrid and Chelsea. I expect him to move to Madrid in the summer.}

Interesting ed002, although Madrid might argue they are a forward short anyway do you think it might mean selling Benzema or Hiquain? I have heard Chelsea are interested in the latter but perhaps if we make 4th....

Richards {Ed001's Note - they offered Higuain to Chelsea to help raise the funds for Cavani and with the proviso that Chelsea made no bid for Cavani. I think that says it all.}

Why did chelsea not take higuain i would have thought they would have loved him there they cant be that keen on him

Cavani will not move to Real. Full stop. Jose will not sign him 100000% sure whilst he is in charge of Real

30 Jan 2012 18:29:38
who ??

Definitely not me.

30 Jan 2012 18:24:30
We all know doni is off back to brazil. Yet another contadiction to kk saying nobody coming in or out.

Assuming he meant first team...

Then why hasn't he gone already, you are reading too much into this

I think a max of two transfers tomorrow one in and one out one will definitely be a loan deal

Doni's move was mentioned weeks ago, so to KK that would not be 'news'

30 Jan 2012 18:13:23
Remember last year? Mata will sign for us? This is the same fool who thinks Cavani will. I'm sure the average age of poster on this site is 7 years old. If we sign anybody it'll be someone in the Hoilett/Jarvis/Doyle category because the glory days are over. Welcome to mediocrity my fellow reds.

Get a grip mate mediocrity whats up sulking because we wont be signing cavani hazard so we'l become mediocre go support city they can fulfil all your signing fantasy,s

...message deleted.... {Ed002's Note - The potty mouth is now trolling other messages.}

I love the optimism, or is realism?

Bentam

When mancs encroach on this site - it's pathetic.
Any true fan can see it's work in progress - and progress has it's ups & downs. I wouldn't change KK for anyone and I trust his choices to come good. Watching AC against Man Utd showed the potential of the player. Give it time - it's coming together.

You must be a barrel of laughs x

Well aren't you a KILLJOY! haha

I think u might be right there.... and psg are not afraid of spending, and they are hungry on him too...

Welcome to mediocrity my fellow reds! Don't make me laugh u might be a red but your 30 miles up the east lancs road u muppet!

Jarvis is quality better than downing anyway

Welcome to an insight in to your miserable existence. As a real supporter that has actually watched the games this year it is obvious to see that at times we have played some of our best football in years. We are very much a work in progress, the glory days are only just beginning...

Black/Red

Mediocrity? ok when we just beat man city and united and we're in the cup final. What this guy on man?

Yup mediocrity is wat liverpool is. One final guaranteed, progress in another in the expense of Man Utd, and 6 points adrift of champions league with half the season left. Yup definitely mediocrity. Kenny has degraded our quadruple trophy winning, fired up side of 2010-2011.

Thats fergie talking to his own team.

I take it you are one of those seven year olds

Is it nothing compared to your fifa12 team who have just won the champions league??

Yes Mediocrity is where we are at. Did you watch the game on saturday, that was the most painfull 90 mins of football i had watched since the Hodgson era. Hoof, nothing. Hoof, nothing. Hoof nothing. If Caroll continues to play, there is no chance of this team be anything other than a mid table, mediocre and very boring football team. Yes we won, to a very weak manu sqaud. No im not a a manc. Been tru LFC for 30 years.

KK's experiment is flwaed. It will never work. Until he relaises that he should buy the best talent availavble, not mediocre British tripe, Until then we will never challenge for the title.

Yes we are in for the cups. SToke, Everton, portsmouth and cardiff have all made the finals of the FA cup in the last 4 years, yet you wouldnt calssify any of these team other than being mediocre.
Sorry guys, KK is not really taking us forward. Yes we are playing better football (when AC is not playing) but we arre losing to drawing at home to s**te, and even worse losing to the bottom of table sides.

They would be three quality editions.

Well i dont think we are heading to mediocrity, wait and relax things will emerge, it took long for us to make a history and it shall also take a long to make another history so chill down dude

30 Jan 2012 18:12:04
If Kenny said no one in or out does this mean Doni won't leave ?

Hans

Kenny want to give some confident to carroll that he is not going. {Ed016's Note - He isn't going anywhere. They have a ton of belief in the lad. All the Carrol hate is pushed on by crap biased news sources they blow it out of proportion to spite us. So just believe in him, he will come good}

30 Jan 2012 17:58:39
Ed are u serious about cavani hazard and Marin ? Pls post on rumours {Ed002's Note - Just read the posts in full.}

Seriously.....

Swagga

Ha ha so gullible.

Sarcasim

I don't understand are they true ed??

People just really don't get sarcasm... oh internet!

30 Jan 2012 17:58:29
Unfortunately the game was not moved to Wednesday so no deals will be made....?? Yeah, right. That's why KK said no deals for senior players?

30 Jan 2012 17:57:06
Now we've signed 2 keepers, Doni is all clear to leave tomorrow, that would free up the number 32 shirt and we all know who loves that shirt don't we....

Do We?

30 Jan 2012 17:54:11
I just got out of class and haven't had time to really go through everything and was just wondering if people had seen on Sky Sports where King Kenny asked Wolves to push the game back for our transfer activities. I just found it interesting and it shows they are up to stuff within the club.

Red Rat

Yeah sure it does! Tonight we'll sign Cavani,Hazard,and Higuain.then tomorrow the real big signings will take place!Sorry to rain on your parade but nothing big's going to happen.

Because gerrard has a slight nock and and we dont want to risk him for tuesday and back to normal on wednsday

Its to late to put game back police ticket sales ect

I don't think I ever said it will be a huge signing but McCarthy did say that he was asked by Kenny to postpone it. "Kenny just asked me because they might be doing something (in the transfer market) and I understood it - but he understand my reasons for not changing." This is the quote from the article on sky sports. Nothing was said about a big name but still shows that things could be happening even if it is to finalize the deals for the new young keepers.

Red Rat

If you've seen Kenny's interview his reply about the young keeper situation was "That's an academy matter and I don't deal with it"! In which case he surely wouldn't be trying to put off a game for the signing of a reserve team player?

If we were to be doing something in the market why would we need to put the game back as surely thats what comolli is there for so kenny could be at the game and comolli could deal with potential transfers if any

30 Jan 2012 17:51:54
Ed do you think there is a possibility of someone still coming in,even if only a loan? {Ed002's Note - I guess anything is possible.}

30 Jan 2012 17:50:20
mick mcarthy told sky sports that said KK wanted to get the game tomorro moved to wednesday because he had transfer plans. hmmmm bit stange

I saw McCarthy interview and while my memory ain't perfect I really don't recall Mick saying the requested postponement was to make a signing!

Strange*

Exactly he didnt say anything about signing any1 usuall blindness and deafness along with wishful thinking! Really do you think we dont watch sky sports news

Nothing about transfer plans jus wanted to move games...

Why would ccarthy break this news , maybe he trying to do a smokescreen aswell

McCarthy also claimed he rejected the move as he wanted more time to prepare for Saturday's trip to QPR, despite having enjoyed 10 days to ready his squad for the Liverpool fixture.

"I know Liverpool wanted to play the game on the Wednesday and asked me about it and I said 'no chance'" revealed McCarthy.

"We are going down to QPR on Saturday so why would I play a day later? I want as much time to prepare for both games but I could understand Liverpool's request.

"Kenny just asked me because they might be doing something [in the transfer market] and I understood it - but he understand my reasons for not changing."

Actually McCarthy said Kenny asked him because "they might be doing something in the transfer market" - now that's not to say they will be but it suggests we are looking, or at least we were looking, at some potential transfer dealings. KK announced there will be no transfer activity so we can maybe presume that a potential deal(s) have fallen through?

30 Jan 2012 17:47:41
Its sayin on skysports that kd has spoke with wolves manager to move game to wednesday so he can do deals

Keep clutching at straws mate and sit up till midnight waiting for a last minute marquee signing.You'll be wasting your time though!

30 Jan 2012 17:25:48
Sky sports news bloke just mentioned that the main rumour on Tyneside Is that of demba ba to Liverpool
Could there be anything in it eds??
Bean {Ed002's Note - Not tomorrow - perhaps they were thinking of the summer.}

Cheers ed was thinking it would be difficult with him still being at acon

And that Liverpool are crap... and that Newcastle signed his mate and countryman...

30 Jan 2012 17:43:10
Keith Andrews from Blackburn rovers has handed in transfer request he might be our man

source SSN watch this space

GET REAL MAN!Im from Ireland,and each and every time he plays for country,i'm left baffled as to why?And i'm not the only one.
Especialy as young McCarthy is left out.Trappattoni is the ony man who know's why he plays him?And he struggles to give a good reason in interviews.
To suggest he's Liverpools man is just absurd.

Bugger! Bit of a comedown from Cavani mate!How long do I have to watch your space?

The same Keith Andrews that is not good enough to play in a relegation side

30 Jan 2012 17:41:56
Kenny asked Mick McCarthy to delay the game tomorrow by 24 hours because of the transfer window.
Interesting.
Kinda puts the "we are not signing anyone" quote up in smoke and maybe it was a smokescreen after all....

htwk

Probably more down to us playing on Saturday in the Cup and not playing to next Monday. Makes more sense to play on the Wednesday.

Think ya adding two and two and making five

30 Jan 2012 17:41:27
sources close to newcastle are saying there is a shock deal for demba ba to go to liverpool. never say never who expected andy carroll to join liverpool last year. u can never say never with liverpool on transfer deadline day

I say never!

You said never say never and then said it. Well I never.

Utta BS. Liverpool are not buying anyone

30 Jan 2012 17:40:18
eds do you think torres will be back at liverpool tomorrow ?? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Not tomorrow but he will be on may 5th

Dream on fool!

Yea when we beat cfc

Would that not be just the icing on a great week

No! Torres is totally crap now. Have you not be paying attention? He can't score to save his life. He's finished as a prolific striker. Get over it. He's gone and I'm glad. He's useless. You live in the past!

30 Jan 2012 17:37:50
jelavic at glasgow airport as we speak.personally feel he's off to everton but you never know!

Everton and West Ham both have offers in for him but we surely don't!

Who cares

Bentam

30 Jan 2012 17:37:34
hi, finally 24 hrs left for the transfer window to shut.
are we buying or selling any players is still a mistery.
we have got quite a few youngsters joining us, but honestly do we need a striker. Maybe. But why panic. Caroll have been a disappointment so far compare to other new signing. I dont believe a new signing will lift us. Suaraz will be back and i am still confident caroll will shine. Kenny should try the youngster for good. Fowler, Owen and Gerrard all came from the academy. Kenny give reserve a shot. save the money for the summer, who know we might have a gem in the acadamey.

Forever REDs

What i dont understand is why we dont play sterling and suso, two outstanding players

Because they're both 16 or 17 years old and tiny. TINY. Compared to the players currently in the premiership, they wouldn't last one tough challenge from the likes of Vidic. Let them grow.

McSnuggles

The Gem we have is Adam Morgan, the next Robbie Fowler so im led to believe, kenny will ease him in next year and then he will be the 20-30 goal a season man that we so desperately need!

30 Jan 2012 17:36:12
Where can I buy one of these smokescreens?
I could use them when I want to sneak out to the pub without the mrs seeing :)

MIKEY

A Japanese store!

I got a 2nd hand one going cheap on Ebay!

Napoli mate

B&Q {Ed001's Note - naw they sold out, always happens in January and August for some reason.....}

30 Jan 2012 17:35:15
hiya Eds i cant believe what im seeing , its funny realy ( not that funny i have a bad hang over :) ) but after reading the rumours page , this is what stood out , we are getting linked with tevez , mascharano , and jose mourinho , ,if this come about we would have one great team , im glad im hung over , or i'd be excited lol

Where would you play Mourinho?

In goal of course...everyone knows that :? {Ed016's Note - Transfer window closing frenzy to make up all sorts of crap}

So you want two striking players who refuse to go on the field and a manager who has said many times he will never manage liverpool. makes perfect sense....not

30 Jan 2012 17:34:50
Teenage Wrexham goalkeeper Danny Ward is set to join Premier League giants Liverpool within the next 48 hours for an initial fee believed to be in the region of £100,000.

Eden Hazard has put a number of Premier League clubs on red alert after admitting he wants to move to England.

Sweden international Kristoffer Nordfeldt claims he is on the verge of a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool and Tottenham both tried to sign Junior Hoilett this month but were put off after Blackburn set an asking price of £8 million, can reveal.

Is it true kenny said today he's not signing any first team players. And why all the keepers? We've got keepers.

8 mill for hoilett?! snatch their hand off please

30 Jan 2012 17:29:13
I honestly think there will be no signings this January. In a way it is good w can't really afford a panic buy. There is no chance of a Cavani coming to Liverpool in Jan.

However there is a chance if we can match the asking price in the summer with or without Champions league.

Remember Falcao almost every big club "supposedly" wanted him, had the chance of staying with Porto and playing in the Champions league but ended up going to Atletico Madrid who couldn't offer that.Having Suarez and Coates will help our chances with Cavani.

Basically what I am trying to say is rather wait till summer and try to sign Cavani or Soldado or whoever rather than sign a fallback and suffer in the lkong term

WTF someone with sense, I'm off for a lay down.

Very true. We may sign somebody, but I agree that the big moves will happen in the summer.

30 Jan 2012 16:29:39
Hi eds, please answer. Now kk has come out and said there will be no ins or outs this January do you DEFINATELY think this is a smokescreen for cavani, hazard, Marin, the return of Torres and mascherano and that tevez and silva will be arriving from man city.

Djjj {Ed002's Note - I expect only three of those deals to complete tomorrow.}

Which 3? hope it's masch hazard and cavani would hate that bleeding lady boy back !

JFT96
Lil Scouser

Torres i think

Ed 002 Quick you got a bite, better reel it in!

Gman

Id rather take silva, torres and masch

What a mug

Torres is a betraying s**te. How desperate are LFC fans that they want that traitor back. He's crap.

30 Jan 2012 17:25:32
The whole transfer process involves 'throwing money' at risky targets - some of which will come off and become excellent players, others that will fail miserably. That's what ALL the top clubs do. Some are hits and some are misses. However, if you're not in the raffle, you can't win a prize. Risks have to be taken. Kenny will need to take this gamble or risk being left behind in the chase for CL football.

You're kind of missing the whole point of FSG's plan to use the sabermetrics approach.. {Ed002's Note - Sabremetrics is nothing to do with football. It applies only to baseball. Or does Liverpool have a new third baseman arriving tomorrow?}

So you are saying that ALL FSG's signings so far have been HITS due to their successful statisitcs system??

The "Moneyball" approach.. How would you not get that? ha

So Ed, you're saying we're not incorporating stats with the signings of new players.. That's odd. {Ed002's Note - I am saying Sabremetrics/Moneyball are nothing whatsoever to do with football at all.}

Obviously it has nothing to do with football, it is a baseball term (no s**t).. We are using that same approach.. Clearly I didn't not say we are using "sabermetrics".. Ah well.

Original poster is spot on. Look at Chelsea with Torres, Man U with De Gea, Man City with Balotelli, us with Carroll, etc etc.

You seek to minimize risks, but at the end of the day, that's exactly what they are.

Oh and please explain to me how LFC uses "sabermetrics"? Is it that Henderson and Downing ranked amongst top assist providers last season? Just asking.

30 Jan 2012 17:24:06
Ed 002, you seriously believe that cavani and marin will sign?

Please answer eds? {Ed002's Note - Please read the original posts.}

I think he may have been a little sarcastic!dont blame them for having to answer the same foolish questions all day!not a chance

I think ed was taking the p*** out of people

Ofc he doesn't this page has decended into madness...hes a chelsea fan and he is winding u up

Ohhhhh my god!! How simple can people be? Listen up ed002 is fed up with all this crap! now his just agreeing with these so called players joining because he has stated and stated his true views 100's of times and some are to lazy to read through the posts like u. Ed is it even worth the banter with these people really? Lol

gezza1982

30 Jan 2012 17:22:55
Fulham very interested in Barrios, I was hoping we would try and loan him but looks like Fulham have stole a march. Also thought Coutinho could have done a job... Bayern Munich are also trying to complete a deal for Shaqiri to go to Bayern in the Summer, Comolli get in there!
Gooch

30 Jan 2012 17:17:46
always expect the unexpected someone will sign

sparky

But then the 'Unexpected' is the 'expected', so in essence everything is expected!

I like your enthusiasm.

Tommy Walsh

30 Jan 2012 17:13:38
Was at melwood today repairing the front gate and waqs told there would be activty tomorrow

Yeah the gate will be fixed and working again.

Jonesred

Well lets hope so. I would expect the gates to work again if you've fixed them.

VR46

Waqs?

What the gates are gonna open? {Ed016's Note - we need to get someone outside melwood all tomorrow, who wants to volunteer for a pay of absolutely nothing?}

30 Jan 2012 17:13:22
Hi Ed,
Thanks for all your info you share with us,
I cannot understand why some keep doubting
Your info?!!
I still think we will sign a defensive midfielder and a quick winger.

Thanks MALTA.

30 Jan 2012 17:11:59
It's clear to me now that ed002 is just throwing out a smokescreen, I believe that Cavani and tevez are bang on for tomorrow.. I mean, why would Cavani want to finish off his champs league campaign with Napoli ?, and why would we want to adhere to the FFP rulings, that is just ludicrous talk.

30 Jan 2012 17:06:15
Most of these fans on here can't really be fans at all, cos when Carroll adam and downing start to settle in a bit more and start scoring etc they'll be cheering, give the guys a break they been there 6 months roughly. Liverpool are not that far behind 4th spot ether. A cup final at wembly 5th round vs Brighton which I can't see us losing so all things considered not bad in his first fall season

Superb post!! ;)

Spot on. sick of fickle fans.....

It's quite unusual for an LFC signing to start pulling up trees on arrival. Of course there are exceptions but traditionally, most players have taken at least a year to settle in. Chillax ppl. It'll come good.

Len

30 Jan 2012 17:03:59
hi ed
out of hazard, cavani, marin, torres, mashcherano, tevez and silva. Which three do you think will be joining Liverpool by the end of tomorrow. {Ed002's Note - The first three.}

Tut Tut Tut no piss taking ed

Yeah, monster masch swapping warming the bench in catalunia and cameo cl role 4 subs appearance at wembley!

30 Jan 2012 17:01:53
Expect a signing Defo

Defo defoe

Think he meant defo as in definately lol
dazza

30 Jan 2012 16:58:29
Mancini comes out today saying he and Tevez are friends again indicating they dont want rid of him and are happy to keep him around which means if Liverpool want him they'll have to meet their valuation, Then Kenny comes out saying Liverpool wont sign anyone in January worrying City they might actually miss the boat and be stuck with Tevez untill the summer and have to pay his monstrous wages thus forcing the price down..... Watch this space!

30 Jan 2012 16:50:22
surely the king will see some sense and bring in a couple of good attacking players, were not creative enough going forward! need a david silva typed player, a good winger and a top established striker!!

You want fries with that? ...be realistic mate its not going to happen, we need to give our new players time

Its a smokescreen expect maybe one or two i seriously reckon tevez is on the cards but thats just my opinion you never know !

KK and DC have more than likely scoured the footballing world for these players, but if they aren't available or their clubs are asking silly money isn't it better to wait for the summer when they will be available and at more sensible prices.
Sean

But remember a good euros, and their price will inflate higher than the eurozone debt.

Dublad

Just been told Marin left germany in private jet heading to liverppool j l airport. Defo.

Surely you will see that we have created the third number of chances in the league, hit the post/crossbar 15 times and missed four penalties this season. How much more creativity do you reckon we need?

30 Jan 2012 16:41:14
I think it's funny how nuts everyone is going about us not buying any players in this window (yet..). Surely it's better than throwing money at second rate signings? Everyone knows January is a difficult window. If there is a deal to be had I'm sure KD will throw his hat in the ring.

We know there are certain areas that need strengthing but look at the quality available, none are really much better than the players we have (who get enough s**t off some of yous as it is). Kenny knows what we need to take us forward and I have faith in him to bring it whether it be tomorrow or in the summer.

Obviously we would all love to see a player of Hamsik/Pato/Tevez calibre brought in, but right now we cannot offer a lot of the things other clubs can (£100,000+ wages, CL football etc). If cavani becomes available for £1.5m on £10,000 a week wages I'm sure we'd be in for him but that's just not going to happen. Be patient and see what happens.

davethebutcher

Why not buy 2nd rate players when we bought carrol ,downing, henderson and adams in the summer costing 83million

30 Jan 2012 17:05:52
SMOKESCREEN ALERT!!

Be prepared for tomorrow fellow Reds.....

MJS

Wishful thinking alert!

Apparently it is messi or ronaldo we are after ?

30 Jan 2012 16:37:12
what king ken says and what king ken does are two different things...and if things dont change they,ll stay the same hehe YNWA

I think Kenny has posted this himself

Surely you're not calling Kenny a liar?

30 Jan 2012 16:32:29
is there any chance of barrios or jelavic ?

You obviously dont believe Kenny!-unless they will be reserve players -JHB Scouse

I'd say it would be extremely unlikely, Barrios has now been linked with Fulham.

Hans

There's NO chance of anyone... We are not buying anyone in this transfer window because Kenny and Co have higher targets than what is available in the market at the moment.

Rocky

Hi eds, please answer. Now kk has come out and said there will be no ins or outs this January do you DEFINATELY think this is a smokescreen for cavani, hazard, Marin, the return of Torres and mascherano and that tevez and silva will be arriving from man city.

Djjj {Ed002's Note - I expect only three of those deals to complete tomorrow.}

Well you can't say that Ed hasn't got a wicked sense of humour...

Tevez going to milan in summer, silva going nowhere, torres and mascherano not going to happen and cavani, marin and hazard will definitely not sign until we get champions league spot

Ed002...you are a card!! ;-)

Only 3 ed I was thinking all of these plus Messi, Ronaldo, Alonso, Xavi and lets not forget Eli. Phew!!!
Sean

Perhaps a definition of sarcasm should be printed for one of these responses!

Anyone else?

Yeah i heard messi was coming in along with neymar and gotze...man were going to be awsome!!...smh

30 Jan 2012 16:20:49
hi ed's. Can we acctually expect any signings now after what KK has said? You keep saying you expect a couple of deals so are you still expecting any? Cheers True red {Ed002's Note - I don't keep saying that, I simply stuck to what I originally said when everyone was expecting £150M worth of "big name" players to arrive.}

Hey Ed's thanks for the work put in throughout the months leading up to this - we're all 'hopeful' of something special happening - but lets face it, if ANYONE comes in it will be a moderate value fix at this late stage of the window.

Nothing major is happening anywhere, apart from pulling the old crockery out of the retirement cupboard because of the Euro's.

I may have to eat my words - and would like to have to - but if anything happens on signings / loans it wont be back page news, let alone front page.

Kenny has them working better than recently, we'll take that momentum into the Wolves game and then on to the Spurs match to, they're the last main scalp we've not beaten this year and when we do we can justifiably say we're up there with the rest, bring on the summer investments and the new blood in the squad.

Suffolkn'Red

You f-ing did say u expect one or two. I read this every day after work and run through the posts and u have at least 100 answers saying u expect one or two. Always the same on this thing with the back tracking eds and same with macca {Ed002's Note - I have said since pushed from before the window opened not to expect too much and that I expect one or two signings only. I have been repeatedly trashed and abused by many of the vegetables for explaining that Liverpool are simply not in the position financially to able to be going out and buying all of these £40M players and have done no more than stuck to what I have originally said. And when repeatedly asked and abused all I have done is stuck again to what I have originally said. I have hardly been coming out and guaranteeing one or two signings. But still ignorant mf retromingent cs cretins like you have to bleat and complain about the editors who give their time for nothing to support this site.}

I do appreciate your work and never abuse ye just know that u did mention that u expect one or two. I knew it was unrealistic to spend loads of money when our income has decreased significantly since no champions league football.

Why don't you just ban these ignorant and abusive posters ed ? {Ed002's Note - It is the fun of watching him whip himself in to a pointless abusive frenzy. It breaks up the tedium of the day for us. Eventually he will just start throwing stuff around, break stuff, start with the threats again. He does this all of the time, but it keeps us amused.}

an embarrassment to the club {Ed002's Note - It seems he won't being visiting for a while as all of the keys on his keyboard have become stuck together - again.}

Take no notice of them Ed, you're a diamond geezer. No greater man has walked the earth. No greater man ever will walk this earth. You sir are the Messiah! All hail Ed. Hi Eds and reds,

Just asking for your opinion on Kenny's statement earlier. I for one do not believe it to be a smokescreen or a lie, but maybe a calculated ploy from Dalglish. I think we are all in agreement that we have approached teams about certain players, and I think as has been done with Chelsea and Man City, and with us through the summer, clubs are asking for more than they normally would when we come asking. I think maybe KK has enquired to clubs about players with a value in his head and when they have whacked an extra 5 million on the price tag Kenny has politely declined. Now he has gone public with saying we will not be adding it may alert these clubs to actually get in contact with us and discuss the original amount that KK had in mind to begin with. I know this is very far fetched and I may be wishful thinking but I do believe KK knows who he wants in but refuses to be held to ransom for them so this may move things along a little.

Would be grateful for yours views on whether this could be a possibility or if I too am suffering from DTS ( delusional transfer syndrome ) which can affect anyone of us for 4 days during each year.

Cheers,

Mick Mccarthy has said that Kenny asked him and wolves if they wanted to swap Tuesdays game to Wednesday.
Why would they want that Eds? Was Kenny expecting a busy Tuesday night? {Ed002's Note - Involving all of the team? Maybe he was joking? And you do realise clubs cannot just change the dates of games themselves.}

Just seen the interview and Mick was deadly serious! I know that they cant change the game themselves but if both parties involved agreed they could go to the league and ask? Just seemed a very odd request thats all.

U do realise we've just played the teams too and second of the league within 4 days, maybe he wanted an extra days rest before getting most of the team back out again by Tuesday night?

1, its down to the f.a. to change dates of games not clubs , they cannot do it on their own ,
2, kenny might have wanted another days rest for his players after the week we have had
3, kenny might be signing a player or 2 and want hem to train with the squad befor the wolves game ,
the answer to your question is on of the above ,

Liverpool have today secured the services of Wales U19 international goalkeeper Danny Ward.

The stopper joins the Reds from Wrexham, the club he signed for as a 14-year-old, and will be based with the reserve squad at the Academy.

Ward turned in a Man of the Match performance during his senior debut in a one-off loan game for Wrexham's Blue Square Bet Premier League rivals Tamworth last season.

Internationally, Ward has played at schoolboy, U17s and U19s level for his country and featured in a UEFA qualifying tournament based in Slovakia in September 2011.

Good luck Danny. Hope it all goes well for you.

KK said there are no more players going in our out, but he didn't talk about loans taking place.

So you think loans are not ins or outs? What would you call them? 'in-but only kind ofs' ?

Surely a loan is someone coming in? Am I missing something here?

30 Jan 2012 16:13:32
Looks like Eds and Macca have got it wrong about transfers. Bit disappointed that we aren't signing anyone as we need a couple of players most notably a striker and winger.

Maybe they didn't, maybe Liverpool have entered negotiations with plenty of teams but have told them where to go due to inflated prices. Maybe the intentions were to sign people but their not being led to ransom

30 Jan 2012 16:09:51
LFC sign young reserve keeper Danny Ward. Wow bet Prem defences are sh.....g themselves.

Muzmacol YNWA

Red7 If you dont like my opinion then dont read them. If you lack the intelligance to respond without swearing, then i'd prefer it if you didnt respond. If you are happy with signing a keeper when we need a striker, then fine; if your happy with the amount of goals scored then fine. We are where we are, exactly, because we haven't scored enough goals. Oh and do you seriously think this lad is going to remove Pepe? Think not. The academy has been appalling for years, and yet again has to buy a 19yr old. In future mind your manners. Swearing replaces the ability to form a reasonable argument.

Liverpool keen on cut-price deal for German veteran
January 30, 2012   ·   0 Comments

Amid reports that Queens Park Rangers are interested in signing the former Chelsea star, Liverpool are also willing to try their hand in bringing Michael Ballack back to the Premier League.

Ballack's current club Bayer Leverkusen announced over the weekend that they were willing to listen to offers for the midfielder's signature following a stop-start first half to the season.

The anchorman's contract runs out in the summer and rather than let Ballack go on a free in six months time, Leverkusen would rather cash in on his signature now.

Ballack has managed to make 18 starts for the German outfit this season but is prone to not being able to last the full 90 minutes anymore.

Liverpool are understandably looking for cover in the middle of the park after Lucas was ruled out for the remainder of the season with an ACL injury.

The Brazilian international was currently on a path going nowhere but, becoming a key component in the Anfield machine and the injury could not have come at a more awkward time.

Liverpool have been linked with moves for several holding midfielders as they seek a solution to the temporary absence of their star.

A deal for Ballack makes sense as the 35 year-old could be signed on either a short-term contract or even a pay-as-you-play basis, making room for Lucas when he returns to action next campaign.

Ballack enjoyed a successful term in the Premier League with Chelsea between 2006 and 2010 and could be keen on a move back to England.

The central midfielder could be available for as little as £2m with Leverkusen keen to get rid of their middleman.

Why in gods name would we want to bring in a 35 year midfielder who cant even last a full game in germany, who was useless last time he came to england. If we are that desperate for midfielders Kenny could still do more than Ballack

I'm not sure if anyone has heard but apparently KK has said "there won't be any first team players in or out" I had a read through this and the rumours page but I couldnt see anything... i thought it would have been mentioned once or twice by now, so just wanted to see if anyone else had seen/heard the same thing?

Please Eds and Macca oh devine see all and know all gods of all things liverpool, please tell me this isn't true and its just a smokescreen, I will give you my firstborn child if only you confirm that over a creamcheese and smoked salmon bagel with KK, DC and JH this morning, they told you it is just a joke.... I just dont know how I can go on living if this is true! Andy caroll, stewart downing, charlie adam and the others just arent good enough to see us until Summer!

Danski

PS - sorry i just couldnt help myself... some of the dudes on here really make me chuckle!!

Said it on LFCtv site.

I heard and read about this, it could jus be a smokescreen because we know what Kenny is like with the way he does his business, but theres a possibility it could be tru, there's only 1 way were guna know and thats waitin till 11pm 2mora evenin

Carb

Cheers for the response fellas, but I was just trying my hand at a little sarcasm! I came on here earlier and saw the same statement posted about 50 times, all of them pretty much asking the eds/macca to talk them out of slitting their wrists by telling them it wasnt true!

I personally love the buzz of the transfer window gives us all something to look forward to, but I love the red shirt more and win, lose, draw, sell or buy I will always support this team regardless.... my blood is red for a reason!

Kiss goodbye champions league. Hope this is a smokescreen but seeing we bought Carroll for 35 mill anything is possible.

We didn't. We received an enquiry for Torres. The quoted price was Carroll + 15mil. AC's price was inflated because NUFC knew they had CFC over a barrel. The way I see it, that's a lot different from paying 35mil for AC.

Just got a call from my mate in Liverpool, he's heard that Bolton's Zaha bid has forced our hand for the striker. At the moment we're preparing a bid in case Bolton up their or another club comes in, but he is a player we don't want to miss out on apparently. I don't often hear rumours and I still think it's unlikely we'll make this or any other move before summer, but it's certainly an interesting one

Red Ollie

Zaha isn't a striker, he's a winger. FAIL

He is a second striker, so he is a striker he just drifts into the channels. Get your facts right before you be a t**t

30 Jan 2012 15:41:42
I personally believe Liverpool have been pushed back on a number of offers for the players that he wants. Rather than buying anyone rashly, I think he'd rather wait till the Summer to get the players he wants. I think if something was to change with the situation of one of these players between now and the end of the January Transfer window, business will be done. I love Kenny but lets be honest, we can't trust a word he says.

30 Jan 2012 15:40:35
Hi! Eds I know Kenny has said there will no ins or outs on the transfer front but this statement can easily be dismissed by a follow up statement if we do sign someone? " I know we said we wouldn't but it was too good a deal to miss? Cavani for £20 mil? My point is any statement by any Manager or Club is easily retracted if the right deal comes along :)
kidmillions {Ed002's Note - There is no link to Cavani aside from a joke Twitter post. 50M euros is the price being looked at for Cavani. He won't be moving to Liverpool. There is no reason to think absolutely that something could not happen though.}

ED 002 : I was using Cavani as an example of a deal to good to miss at a price? as he is the most popular name bandied about on here and was not implying we would sign him.
kidmillions {Ed002's Note - Like Torres coming off at half time tomorrow to sign for Liverpool in a £17.2M deal?}

30 Jan 2012 15:40:10
Hi Eds,

I know this has been asked, but, do you honestly think that any real bid will be made for Tevez or Cavani?

Cheers,

Kosovo Joe {Ed002's Note - The answer reemains as before - no.}

Hazard told canal plus about his summer plans:

"After thinking about it, I'm leaning towards England," he told Canal+. It's a style of play that suits me and it's there that you can learn the most."

"I want to play for a big club, but also one where I will play every week. I've played more than 100 games in Ligue 1 so I would prefer to go abroad. I want to discover something new and playing abroad is a conscious decision."

Hazard conceded that there a host of clubs which would interest him in the Premier League but insisted: "Nothing has been decided yet.

"I want to play at a big club, but I don't want to sit on the bench. It needs to be a club that plays good football."

Looks good for Liverpool -
He wants to play for a big club (Check)
Who play a good style of football (Check)
Doesn't want to sit on the bench (Check)

I think them 3 things rule out moves to man city or chelsea as he isn't always guranteed to start, Arsenal will likely lose their best players in the summer so that Leaves Liverpool, Tottenham and United, I think that if we get CL football we have as good a chance as the other two of getting him.

Also we have the Joe Cole link

What you thinks eds?

RP {Ed002's Note - I really don't see Hazard moving to Liverpool or Arsenal and I rather suspect if he were to move to England the answer is at Chelsea or possibly Old Trafford. However, there is nothing to say he will actually move to England - since last week he was talking up PSG and previously the Spanish clubs.}

I can't see him moving to Chelsea unless they sell Torres, because he's not going to want to be behind Mata, Sturridge and Torres, not to mention De Bruyne. It would be a big statement of lack of faith in Torres were Chelsea to sign him.

Can't see him going to United either, they don't have the money they used to and what they really need now is a centre mid or five. Nani, Young and Valencia are first-class wingers and I see no reason Ferguson would pay the high fee which Hazard would command.

So that leaves City, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool. Well it's always a possibility that he could go to City, as you can't rule out any player accepting that kind of paycheck. If he does go there, though, he's going to leave someone unhappy, and it will probably be Adam Johnson, who I think is first class anyway. So if City do sign Hazard, which we would be pretty much powerless to prevent if they wanted him, Johnson is a possibility for us.

Can't see him going to Spurs personally, unless they win the league this season. They could do with a striker, their wingers are on top form. Of course you can never predict what Arry will do and he's got the financial backing but I'd be very surprised if he was a Spurs priority. Perhaps if they lose Modric.

So, Arsenal and Liverpool: both teams struggling in the league this season, with great connections in French football. If Arsenal were seriously interested in him I should think that's a real possibility - they need a replacement for Arshavin. But with Gervinho, Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain all competing for the winger places, it's not certain that Arsenal would want him.

Unlike Arsenal, we definitely have a place for him in our team, where he would play regularly. But it would be a big sell to convince him to turn down Arsene Wenger, the guy's a hero in France. The problem would only be compounded if City were in for him as well. So all in all, I think we've got a chance at him, and there's always a possibility that the Cole link will work in our favour, but I would say he's more likely to go to Arsenal if he comes to England

Red Ollie {Ed002's Note - You do realise that there have already been discussions between Chelsea and Lille over Hazard? I am not sure how any of this impacts Torres either.}

Hazard told the media 1 year a go or so: I want to join a club with history, like Liverpool and Arsenal. Not Chelsea.
United have 3 excellent wingers, so therefor no. And one guy in media ask him if Arsenal was a possiblity, he anweared; Arsenal is a possibility offcourse, everyone know what Arsenal are capable of

Cheers

Liverpool fOREVER {Ed002's Note - Sadly Twitter is not always the greatest source.}

You must not be watching our football lately if you think it is "good."

Henderson - backpass sidepass backpass
Downing - no balls, crosses it off of everyone's shins
Carroll - tripping over himself all the time and the rest hoof it to him
Adam - Hollywood balls and the flagrant fouls

the only good football on our team right now is Gerrard and Suarez and the back four.

The ed is right and hazard will not come to us. we can't afford the sort of money he will cost, not on one player at least.

I heard talk sport say earlier that hazard had said he was interested in ever manc club or any of the big 3 London clubs, I didn't here us mentioned. Obviously the top 4 would probably change that though.

Bentam

It makes sense that there've been discussions but Chelsea's behind the scenes staff have discussions over a lot of players, it doesn't mean they're going to sign them. I was under the impression that those discussions came before they had signed Mata? It impacts Torres because if Hazard signs he'd be out of the regular starting line-up, as the obvious front 3 would be Hazard-Sturridge-Mata

Red Ollie {Ed002's Note - The discussions were last week and about three weeks ago. You don't think Hazard-Cavani-Mata then?}

I see that Wigan Athletic 'might' let Rodellega leave before the end of the window as he is out of contract at the end of the season. Is it not possible for any club to sign the player now on a pre-contract for next season?
Dutchmal {Ed002's Note - Not an English club.}

Thanks Ed002 - when can an English club do it then?
Dutchmal {Ed001's Note - a month before the end of his contract.}

very very quit transfer window. all the Big money spending team is not buying anyone. this is the perfect time to Buy as no Biding war . I don't know why Our Management don't think that too. in the summer player value will go up ads Malaga, Psg, will spend huge and City Chelsea will do the same.

-HHH-

City and Chelsea have been spending "huge" for years and can afford to continue doing so whenever they like
[ please eds don't pull me up about the new financial proberty regs coming in ] but we have limited funds and resources which some dopes don't seem to believe.The Reds are casually told to spend a hundred million on three players by posters who have NO idea where the money will come from.

You dont have a clue do you, because of the ACON and EURO's players do not wish to move in this window, and the players that do are of a lower quality with inflated prices

SHH! you'll let the cat out the bag.

I actually totally agree with this, our summer signings were not exactly cheap and if we had gone all out for ash young last jan he wouldn't have ended up at the scum!

Tevez loaned to Liverpool FC, announced tomorrow with 200,000£ a week. Remember where you heard it first

Reddie

How do you know about it?

Yea the mirror m8!

Oh we will remember and we'll expect you back to apologise when it doesn't happen

I hope so but i don't see us paying that amount in wages and also he said he is willing to take a 40% pay cut to securer a move. Gerrard is on £140,000 a week so if Tevez comes in and gets More it mite cause unrest amongst the squad.

BigD

You come on here tomorrow then reddie and say sorry I was only messing about!!

Yeah mate I will remember where I heard it first. This morning papers and all over the net. So cheers for that.

And my mum your dad some jokers on here

Yep - we'll remember where we heard it!

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day

Heard it first in the mirror, not from you or ur imaginary inside man

Mirror got there first

Are you BREAKING NEWS in disguise? If you are, you know there's not a Snowballs chance in hell of Tevez ever joining us now

30 Jan 2012 15:19:00
I have a feeling that the owners are not comfortable handing more cash to KK and DC, considering Caroll, Downing and Hendo have not really performed. Jury is probably still out on Adam. Suarez and Enrique are both successful signings no doubt but I think the cost of the three signings which have not performed outweighs the successes by a considerable margin. FSG may be thinking of getting a new manager in summer and may only sanction cash after that.

Oh yeah your next post will announce the triumphant return of Rafa Benitez or maybe Hodgson! Suppose we win the League Cup, which we have an excellant chance of, and it isn't impossible for us to win the FA Cup as well,so do we still sack Kenny? Your mind is clouded by thoughts of the "Special One's" claims of returning to the EPL!

Personally I think Henderson is doing just fine

I have a feeling you dont have a clue

All these players "not performing" as you say weren't bought for one season if you keep in mind their age.

So are they gonna sack Comolli too, as I'm sure he has a big role in the transfers if I'm not mistaken. Wat a silly post, honestly some people

Rubbish statement, if you knew anything about KK, you'd know he's not wrong often, look at how he's transformed the club in the last 12 months, should we win 2 cups this year, and we just might, how do you think the owners will feel then?

Its not about one season or two seasons. Its about the price that he paid out for these 3. Cash from Torress could have been spent more wisely, than paying 35MM for an average mediocre british striker. Surely, FSG can calculate that 35MM for a striker who scores once in 10 games is bad business.

30 Jan 2012 15:08:15
Hi Eds
can you please clarify if we did buy the young Texiera (spelling) or not?

Many thanks, iranred {Ed002's Note - I understand the plan is to buy Teixeira but don't expect the club to make much of the deal as he is for the reserves.}

30 Jan 2012 15:08:42
From LFC.tv

boyz pack up and go home, there is nothing to see here. Kenny has confirmed.

He said: "There'll be nothing happening here in the transfer window, in or out.

"There's no need to ask any questions about transfers or speculation or anything else." {Ed016's Note - When have they every talked about it?}

That post was from the new kids section they have just started ed, take no notice.

This has been posted on the site all afternoon.....Don't people read other posts before they decide to post the same thing ? Obviously not......Do you really think no one will be coming in ? Think again, 2 players will be signed...It's a smokescreen because Harry "The inland revenue" Redknapp try's to steal players negociating with other clubs LOL

I know we like to keep it behind closed doors but there's a difference between saying 'we're not telling you what's going on' and 'we're definitely not going to sign anyone'. Though I do remember Kenny saying something similar this time last year....personally I expect the Texeira from Lisbon to be our only signing

Red Ollie

And then just a few hours later 2 goal keepers crop up!

30 Jan 2012 15:08:39
honestly think its a bit embarassing if we dont sign anyone. how can we be happy with the squad weve got when were 7th. yes clubs dont wont to sell players surely thats when you state your intent with a bid they cant refuse. if the fans can see the gaps in our squad but the manager/ coaches/ board members cant then maybe they shouldnt be in their jobs.

heres to living in hope {Ed016's Note - You're idiotic, it is clearly a smokescreen. If we didn't get anyone in, oh well. would rather not pay over the odds}

What so wanting to sign good players to improve the squad is idiotic? well come on the genius who are we gonna sign? your obviously happy with being mediocre but am not, maybe you should stop supporting us and become a blue that seems to be what there into.

Great Post .. Well said,..some honestly for a change ...

How about because we're in the Carling Cup final, are huge favourites to get to the FA Cup quarters and we're still only 6 points off 4th. I'd call that a massive improvement on last season. Arsenal aren't having the best season either but they're not going out splashing cash and disrupting the team. You could learn a thing or two from professional football managers; some of them are quite good at their jobs

Red Ollie

I'm embarassed that your embaressed! How Embarrassing is that? Couldn't be any more embarrassed!
kidmillions

Wow another guy only wanted to sack Kenny but you want to get rid of the manager,coaches,and the board of directors!What's embarassing about not buying if the players we want are either not available or overpriced? So far the only "BIG" club to sign anyone is Chelsea who are about to sign DeBruyne and loan him back to his club for the rest of the season.I'll bet you're one of the loons drooling to get Tevez and re-sign Torres!

Last time i checked i thought our goal was to win the league not the carling cup or get to the quarters of the FA cup. fact is the current regime has wasted massive amounts of money, unless you consider downing carroll an henderson to be well worth their money. so am not suprised the owners arent sanctioning any deals

Ed016 - Manners cost nothing! Whether the op is correct or not, he's surely entitled to his opinion, and you should be setting a better example. {Ed016's Note - why? he is saying that no one knows how to do their job}

I'm pretty sure the liverpool staff know a lot more about the team you do and spot everything considering they coach them everyday. Stop being a baffoon

Anyone who can say they are happy with this season are liars! we are lfc and shud be higher up the league thats why we want a few signings. at the end of the day we need to finish as high as possible to sign more quality players eg, champs league type of players. i dont see why 8m is too much for junior hoillet hes how old? and has experience of our league and great pace with an end product unlike some players!

Am not saying that nobody at the club knows how to do there job, all am saying is that I don't understand why kd would say he is happy with the squad when were in 7th spot. An if that is the attitude of everyone at the club then they shouldn't be there. Surely the idea is to constantly improve not to just settle for what we've got

Very rude indeed ed016.

How is his opinion idiotic? Especially following your nonsensical statement about it 'clearly being a 'smokescreen'.

How the hell do you know. lol.

Then you follow up 'it's clearly a smokescreen' by saying we may not actually get anyone?!?

Then you add that if we don't sign anyone - what Kenny said was still a smokescreen but you don't mind as it will be because we didn't pay over the odds?!? (didn't is past tense, I assume you meant don't)

Warbling nonsense - or borderline schizophrenia. Are you drunk? What are you talking about?

Yet you have the temerity to call a poster idiotic? His points are perfectly valid.

lol. La-la land.

If we don't sign a winger or striker to improve our attacking options (a defensive CM would help too) it will have been poor work this January and may yet cost Kenny his job. He'll be up against it, thats for sure.

Most people do know where we need to improve, you'd need to be blind not to.

I will explain this view (shared by many, rather clearly judging by the comments) in more detail later.

There is still a day left, you never know. Tomorrow may tell us a lot about how the second half of the season will go.

BJH YNWA.

i work within Barnsley's youth set up and Liverpool are in for a striker of ours, Craig Davies, fee will be around 2 million.

Barnsley do not want to loose there man so this is why the fee has been agreed of around 2 million.

Very good player for Barnsley dont want to loose him

not a red

Iv`e heard he is `proper Bo` ...

... oh yeah ... thats craig david.....

Hi (ED02) are you glad Kenny has put the rumours to bed? I know he has no time for a lot of the press, but very much doubt he's trying to kid anybody. He could have said what he always says, when questioned about transfers, that He does not discuss transfer activity with anybody outside of the club ,unless he wishes it to be known. But this was a definite no as far as i see it.

Regarding Tevez, i did state yesterday on this site that the rumours should not be believed Well to just confirm the lies, about 20 minutes ago ( on Granada Reports) Manchenni was interviewed and one of the questions raised was the rumour that liverpool FC had contacted them. He said that there was no contact. He was asked if he was aware of Tevez persuing Mancheinni and City with a lawsuit and Tevez is accusing him of having a personal problem wit Tevez. He denied the allegation, but looked pretty uncomfortable with the questioning. Anyway not our problem.
Thanks (EDS) for your efforts, you will never please everyone, I am slightly disappointed that the drama did not go all the to the very end regarding this transfer window, but at the same, i might have been more gutted if it had have gone all the way and we had signed nobody.
We have one Wembley trip to look forward to and there is a big chance it could be two. We are the only club in the country and Wales of course that have the chance of two visits this season.
If we qualify the champions league and reach two finals then that has to be classed has a great season, most of us never thought that at the beginning of the season and certainly not after the Bolton match. I like many others feel a bit concerned that there will not at least be a back up striker brought in. AH WELL, you can't have everything, can you? I am very sure we will cheer the lads on till the final game of the season.

(EDS) whether you're bothered or not I will still look in just in case something dramatic happens between now and tomorrows transfer deadline.(one again thanks for your efforts)

PJ {Ed002's Note - I am tied up with other stuff tomorrow so KD is helping me out with this statement. It'll be quiet here with only the occasional orgasmic moment for the fans - when Cavani and Hazard sign.}

No were not cardiff could visit twice

I am a first time poster, i do think that Carlos Tevez would be a fantastic buy, even at 25 million. His work rate is world class and would be worth the money.

Oh God ed you typed the "C" word again and my nose started to bleed!

You,re a right smart arse if you are including the championship play off final. ( well done)

It might be championship play off final its still wembley twice theirs not smart about that

Hi Eds,

Mick Mccarthy has come out saying liverpool have tried to delay the game for the wednesday as they have other business to attend to!

I'm thinking Dalglish has come out saying there'll be no activity as a smokescreen for a major signing. He'll want the fans and club to concerntrate on the game without the transfer saga being thrown at him instead.

What you think? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps he was joking. Perhaps it is a smokescreen. It is hard to think of any transfer dealings that will require the players to be present.}

I don't think it's the players who need to be present but the physio's/medical staff might?

No Ed002 but it would require the medical staff (which would be at the game), or the manager distracted, or other staff. Not as simple as the players.

Ah the old smokescreen theory! I have a theory that the smokescreen is a smokescreen to hide another smokescreen!

It could possibly be because we played City last week, Utd on Saturday and then had 2 days rest before another game 2mora? That might be why he asked to move it back, so the players get some rest, its a lot to play 4 games in jus over 8/9 days, especially against 2 of the biggest clubs in England

Carb

I think the same like last year apparently babel was going nowhere and carrol wasnt going to sign

30 Jan 2012 14:59:13
why is dagliesh coming out with he is happy with the squad and that there will be no one coming in or going out?? ask any liverpool fan and they will tell u that we need another striker, someone who can score goals regulary, i like dagliesh as a manager and person but u have to question the money he has spent. his signings henderson 20 million, poor signing, carroll 35 million poor signing, doni free, poor signing, adam 7.5million, good but not good enough to play for a club like liverpool, downing 20 million, poor signing, bellamy free, good signing but cant play every game due to his knees, is it dagliesh? comolli? or the scouting network? cos the buys arnt good enough to get top 4, we will finish same position as last season because th e teams above apart from newcastle are better.. fact. which shows that we havnt inproved from last season despite spending wot we have.. we may as well saved the money cos we arnt getting better, and yet dagliesh comes out with he isnt going to buy anyone.. why?? we need players to try close gap between us and the top teams in the league.. its a joke

Spot on mate

Reply to nameless why do you think doni is crap, have you seen him play games for liverpool that the rest of us haven't

I think the fact that you can't even spell Kenny's name correctly proves that you are the joke. The circus is missing a clown if you're looking some work
Milamber

Couldn't agree more I have posted pretty much the same thing several time yet the edds don't see my post fit to publish! YNWA

Wah Wah Wah. Feel better for that? Apparently City need more fans. Please apply. The clue to the word 'supporter' is the word 'support.

On the wages these (poor) players are on I would say that they are rich players - wouldn't you?
DM

He's entitled to an opinion, I agree with him but I will still support whatever players we are have week in week out! Doesn't mean we don't deserve and need better!

You forgot to mention Jose enrique, (quality signing) Suarez (also quality) and you'll find Doni is a pretty class keeper, the others are youngsters and will improve in time, don't be impatient.

Great Post .. Some honesty for once .. When I post critical posts of Dalglish, the Ed's don't publsih them.. But well said.. we needed to strengthen this windown, howver Kenny hasnt the brains to work this out... {Ed002's Note - Try not to bleat about the Eds.}

Doni played in friendly and looked poor, and dont forget doni turned us down initially until we upped the wage offer!! shows that all he was bother about was money.. id rather have a young english keeper on bench and if he makes odd mistake so be it but liverpool keep signing foreign keepers that are so called experienced and yet they look poor and still make stupid mistakes and decisions, ie doni, itanje, jones, cavalieri. like i said give youth a chance

Spot on mate, liverpools buys have been poor and we arnt improving whatsoever, suarez is quality but he replaced torres who for us was quality despite how he is playing now, so we swapped 1 quality player for another. i watched semi against man city and thought liverpools defence was brilliant and midfield like gerrard and co were battling and tracking back yet henderson who cost 20 million not once and i repeat not once tracked back on man citys attack despite playing centre of midfield, he doesent seem to do owt in the games ive watched and yes i admit he is young but end of day he cost 20 million so id expect better, poor buy by the management, spearing is better than henderson yet if we sold spearing we wouldnt get 20 million. just shows we paying over the odds for 2nd rate players {Ed001's Note - you really are typing complete nonsense, none of it is correct, nor is it worth wasting the time typing out. You really need to start watching football with your eyes open and stop reading tabloids to get your 'knowledge' from.}

You like Dalglish that much that you can't be bother to learn how to spell his name correctly? Muppet

Of course he's entitled to his opinion even though he's a dope! His post might make more sense if he could spell and punctuate though!

How am i talking nonsence?? tell me wot henderson did in the semi final 2nd leg against mancity? erm nothing.. watch a repeat of game and come back on here and tell me which minute og game he was battling like the others to win game. he doesnt do it.. fact, and thats why we lose games against bolton or drop stupid points because certain players wont get stuck in. ie carroll, henderson, downing maxi yet compare them to kuyt, gerrard, spearing, bellamy who will chase and chase for 90 mins. there the players i want playing for my club, players that will give everything, if we lose a game so be it but aslong and the players selected run there heart out and try there best that will do for me, unfortunatly a few dont do that at our club and yet get paid a lot of money.

Sorry eds for "bleating about the ed's" as you put it .. I guess I'm just another frustrated fan who wanted to see some singings made before tomorrow night..

Thanks

Ed i gotta agree with the post that u said was all nonsense.. torres was brilliant for liverpool and henderson for 20 million is a poor buy as is carroll at 35 million when u compare him to our very own craig bellamy who didnt cost owt, yet bellamy is by far a better player and newcastle got ba for free yet he looks a lot better than carroll. i no it wasnt carroll who set fee but someone at liverpool thought he was worth us spending 35 million on, also thought spending 20 million on downing and henderson was worth the money, it just seems like we were like kids in a sweet shop and went stupid with our money.

All teams need time. How are we not better off than last year. A carling cup final 5th round of the FA Cup and 4 points off 4th place. If we beat Spurs next week then we are 3 points closer to them. Stop bleating and get behind the team. YNWA.

The lad spoe from his heart , and e ust wants what is best for the club we can all see the teams short comings , wh cant the managemen , unless they do , but have to do with what they have bought , or as some have said on here , kennys putting up smoke screens so no other club comes in for the players we are getting and drive the price up , its funny though qpr have signed more players than us and now there going in for cisse , even neverton are trying to buy someone , no matter what we always do things the hard way {ed002's note -

How can you call doni a crap signing, fair enough he hasnt played but adds excellent cover for Reina which we havent had for a while

Mirror football are saying that Liverpool have offered to take Tevez on loan, and are willing to pay all his £200,000 wages till the end of the season.

Paggsy

It wouldn't

30 Jan 2012 14:51:52
Hi Eds,

I have a sneaky feeling that KK said what he said about transfers to deflect questions about Carrol/Teves.. Just a thought

P.S Or we are not going to sign anyone lol

30 Jan 2012 14:22:24
hiya eds any truth in the rumour about liverpool asking wolves to put the game back from tuesday because it is transfer deadline day seems to have a bit of credability ssn etc {Ed002's Note - No there will not be any truth in that.}

Jesus do you believe something's true just because it turns up on SSN?

30 Jan 2012 13:36:03
Ed002 could u think it could be a smokescreen and that mayb just mayb someone is on the cards to come in. I think kk is sick and tired of how the press have treated lfc so why would he wanna give out any kinda of hint that makes them a story. Would like ur honest opinion if u think that it could be a smokescreen. Cheers

gezza1982 {Ed002's Note - I really don't know if this is a smokescreen or not.}

He can't hold a story back because he doesn't wabr to give anything to the media..that would in turn mean he is keeping it from the fans, and he has always said, he likes to treat the fans with respect by always being honest with them...

I heard KD uses REAL smokescreens in the form of little glass vials that he breaks on the floor before he mysteriously disappears ( a bit like in shinobi on the megadrive)

No business before tomorrows deadline!

So Noone in today, business to be conducted tomorrow.

Sorry , who does Noone play for , the only one I can find is a reserve player at MK Dons .

He means no one but there is a noone that plays for Brighton too,fun fact! he fitted Gerrard roof before becoming a pro.

iverpool are ready to complete a double goalkeeper transfer swoop by signing Danny Ward and Kristoffer Nordfeldt. Read more.

SSN

--------------------

So much for us not being active in the transfer window.

He said none in for the senior squad this will both be in the reserves

Lazy Lad

KD did say there wouldnt be any players for the first team and in the article it does say he mentioned we would be signing a keeper for the academy.

Nordfelt is a keeper for the first team ward for the academy, doni on his way out... Careful wat u Beleive Kenny is great, but he doesn't give anything away, I see something happening on deadline day...

A double goalkeeping swoop isn't going to excite the fans though is it?

Yes that'll solve our problems infront of goal....... 2 more goalkeepers :/

30 Jan 2012 14:21:53
Hi eds, I see on ssn website that Dortmund are selling Barrios to Fulham who will cost around £7million.

Now I don know about you but I think its time KD and DC took the finger out, copped on, get in some class players and get rid of that joke Carroll.

Please post in rumours.

DWire

Totally agree I have to say.

Let's get rid of the unsupportive joke that is you. Honestly- you had probably never even headed of barrios up until 2 days ago.

Rob s

That joke Andy Carroll that set up the winner against united and who KD praised after the match?

You're a stand up fan aren't you.

People are expecting carrol to be some kind of explosive striker or something... We as a team have to play to his strengths.... Did you see on saturday. He was unplayable in the air.. Hence the goal he created.. His touch was actually good.. For once. True we need another striker but carroll is here for 4 moe years, and if we can get him playing like he did on saturday and better remeber his only 20 something.. Hill be a BEAST...

Steven

Carroll will be great!!
What a joke of a fan you are mate!
Very untypical of us to say stuff like that...get grip son!

16 matches 0 goals 1 assists for barrois ya world class isn't it
krishna

What happened to YNWA? People like you make me sick..

Get behind your team, EVERYMAN. Remember all the stick Lucas got? Well we have certainly missed his influence in the middle of the park. Carol will come good.

Another mug who believes SSN! There should be special section on here for gullible idiots!

Carroll is going to be class. . . In about 3 seasons. The lad is so young he has a lot to learn. He will be the drogba of liverpool, unplayable. Just be patient. And dont forget in 3 years time he will only be 24! Come on lads ynwa.

I wish people would leave carroll alone he played really well on saturday and showed glimpses of what he can do he was powerful in the air had a good touch and played for the team always looking for his team mates and was really unlucky not to score himself if anything i think he needs to put a little more weight back on as he did loose a fair bit he still has 4 and a half years left on this contract give him a break and get behind the lad he needs our support not critisism

Carroll wor better on sat but he werent great the problem is kenny bought downing to go past defenders and put the ball on his head but he s not doin it and our corners and free kicks have been s**te so you cant blame it all on carroll if you get somebody on wings that can cross a ball like gerrard then you ll see a different andy carroll.

Dwire, you were calling Johnson a gob****e last week and Carroll a joke this week. Are you really a Liverpool supporter ?

I hear rumours that Aston V have been approached for D. Bent? any truth in this please?

I see Darren bent handing in a transfer request

No chance!

First time poster on here, just wondering, is there ANYTHING happening transfer wise, can the EDs or Macac shed any light?

Thanks

Anglesey Red {Ed001's Note - nothing mate, all the possibles seem to be out of the question now.}

Ed's are people trying to trick you into opinion posts? Bizarre a first time poster knows who to address without reading on here? Maybe I'm just to cynical an sick of reading that garbage( though there are many that do make some valid assumptions)

Rob s {Ed019's Note - So am i..}

Not really a 'trick' he was asking a genuine question and he could be a long time reader.

Adam

He could have been reading the site for years without posting. I'm in same boat. Posted for first time today myself but been checking the site for a long time.

So is it likely no players will sign then? Or is there hope?

Thanks
Burnsy

Maybe 'trick' was a bit harsh but honestly how about a bit of common sense. If hou want to know the latest rumours and the eds's rumours... Read the posts - that's what they're there for. If the poster actually did that he would see the standard response for such broad questions. If you hav e something new to add or a different angle on things then Greta - it all adds value. But asking such 'lazy' questions irritates me and know doubt the ed's( sorry if I'm making assumptions here). In short if you can't be arsed to read the site why should they reply?

Rob s

I read this site day in day out, and have done so for the last year or so, and I only asked as I'm fed up of all the ridiculous 'Liverpool have put a bid in for Jermaine Defoe's Second Cousin's Girfriend's Uncle's Mate's Dog' type rumours. If you want something, like I did here, which was information, (without having to read all the, as you put it, 'garbage' on the site) all you have to do is ask. So I asked, sorry if I offended you, sorry if I was 'lazy' in your eyes, but I can't afford the time in work to read all these silly posts about signing what seems like every world class player going.

Anglesey Red

EDs Kenny has said that there will be no senior players arriving or leaving, do you think we can put the rumours to bed until the summer? or is he calling our bluff? {Ed002's Note - A smokescree?}

Surely Ed if this was a smokescreen he would of said it earlyer ? not the day before the window closes? I think we wanted to strenthen but all targets Kenny wanted have been out of reach for one reason or another. Why after what happened to liverpool last Jan would we wait untill the very end of the window?

He said that 2 weeks ago. Most managers say that. If you believe it why would you come on to this site??

Rob s

End of the year KD will say we are very near to no 4 but lets see next year. the team need a striker and a creative midfielder. but KD close his eyes .

How can kenny and the board say they are happy with the squad and expect to get top 4 just look at how many goal we have scored there is only bellamy that looks like scoring

What about agger and kuyt who both scored on saturday, suarez who's coming back soon, and gerrard who's already got 4 since coming back a few weeks ago?

x

30 Jan 2012 12:39:58
We are being linked heavily with marko marin. Am i right in saying he is a right footed left winger? In the same mould to ashley young? And if so, surely we do not need this as we have downing and bellers who play there. We do need a natural right winger. Can he play there ?
Jayo

Im german and he prefers playing left but he can play right too but he unbelievable bad and he really is worse tha downing bellamy maxi henderson or kuyt

Kevin De Bruyne was today set to undergo a medical at Chelsea ahead of his move from Genk, according to the Belgian club.

The 20-year-old midfielder was on the brink of joining the Blues in a reported £6.7million deal on a five-and-a-half-year contract that would see him loaned back to his current team for the rest of the season.

-----------------------

What a really good price for a player that will no doubt be a very good player in the future, shame he had his heart set on a move to London.

I was under the impression we have plenty of "one for the future" players and our need was for someone to step straight into 1st team football.

He'll not play much. Don't get too worried.

Thanks captain obvious but this section is 'Liverpool rumours'.
the doctor

AVB doesn't seem to like him too much and from what he said was not a signing of his choice

Chelsea have had that one wrapped up for months, well before AVB came in anyway

Inter Milan's Philippe Coutinho will spend the rest of the season on loan at Primera Liga side Espanyol, the Brazilian has confirmed.

Look to get him at summer

30 Jan 2012 12:36:58
Right the news is out . There will be No first team tranfers in or out .
So were gonna have two camps
1. The ah well lets support the team.
2. Its all a smoke screen so we dont get outbid on ..... Cavani, tevez, mascerano, hernandez, marin, etc etc etc.......
Good luck eds !

I'm more of a lets see what happens in the next 30 or so hours and go from there.... This is football and things often change. What KD said today could be the truth and No one will come in or go out, But if the right player is found at the right price or a very good offer comes in for a fringe player.... well, like I said, things change so.... like the OP said good luck Ed's.... you may need it

SW81

I'll just join the "ah well lets support the team" camp...cause I honestly think he was serious when he said that

Its a hard one thats for sure, kenny does have a good poker face though.

foginspector

Same man who said Babel wasn't leaving.

30 Jan 2012 12:36:20
Hi guys n girls, I don't think we will sign a striker. Reason being, we needed a striker to cover Suarez whilst he was banned. But now that ban is near ending what's the point in buying one. Surely we would of bought one at the start of the window to help us cope without luis. Just my opinion anyway.. Toxteth red

Why would we need a striker when even with Suarez playing we were scoring bucketful of goals. Carroll needs time and no one elseis netting them

Rob s

Suarez is more of an assist striker we still need another striker to net the goals and help carroll find his shooting boots i am sure as soon as andy gets a goal or two there will be no stopping him

30 Jan 2012 12:21:52
Hey eds..love site btw...
How do u feel about kennys comments about no senior players coming in or out ...do you think this is true or trying to keep hidden? I know he may feel somewhat happy with squad..but they must know of our short comings namely striker and right wing...... Be great to hear your opinion
Cheers
Mrjimmy Sydney {Ed002's Note - I have no feelings about his comments.}

You might have no comments but surely u have an opinion of what KD said?? {Ed002's Note - I was asked my feelings about his comments. And I have none about them.}

30 Jan 2012 12:33:40
hey ed's, great site btw.

This has just come up on LFC site -

Kenny Dalglish is adamant that Liverpool will conduct no business in what is left of the transfer window.

The boss expects no new additions to the first-team squad at Melwood before the window closes on Tuesday night.

He said: "There'll be nothing happening here in the transfer window, in or out.

Still think we will sign those 'one or two' players? {Ed002's Note - We will see.}

God how stupid. Clearly need a striker

We've done not too bad this January. Suarez returning next weekend will be like a new signing. And Jay Spearing coming back will also be a great boost. Tevez would be nice, but never gonna happen.

Just because a manager says nothing is going to happen doesnt mean that nothing will happen. Case and point when tottenham signed Van der Vaart, Harry said they were not going to sign anyone and then all of a sudden they sign him.

Just wait and see which members of staff are missing from the wolves game and another key factor could be if kenny travels alone to the game i may be wrong but i can see kenny wanting a quick getaway from tomorrows game

30 Jan 2012 12:33:04
Liverpool fans hoping for a busy deadline day could be disappointed as Kenny Dalglish says there will be no Anfield arrivals or exits. "There'll be nothing happening here in the transfer window, in or out," says the Scot

--------------

Looks very doubtful as this is what Kenny said today.
However im still expecting a striker at the very least.

BigD

On the liverpool website?,what do you make of this Ed's?.....

Kenny Dalglish is adamant that Liverpool will conduct no business in what is left of the transfer window.

He said: "There'll be nothing happening here in the transfer window, in or out.

Pete..

{Ed002's Note - Seems pretty clear.}

Last year he said that Ryan Babel wont be any where but in like couple of days or a week he was off. but this the statement has come at the worst possible time , with 32 hours left to go.

I told u before 1-2 days - we will not sign anybody!

Dalglish: No new senior players

He said: "There'll be nothing happening here in the transfer window, in or out.

@nbstw

And have you ever considered that he might be kidding on ?

Yea but who expected Carroll to arrive and Miereles to leave ...

We will be active in the window

KK has always stated that Liverpool like to do business behind closed doors. KK is, I suspect, getting annoyed with the Journalists asking questions all the time about LFC transfer policy. I wouldn`t be surprised to see a big signing come in tomorrow.

Damn you FSG ! They're beginning to remind me of H&G ...

You also told us 1-2 days ago that we were making a double German swoop for Barrios and Marin. I'm no expert but that's what I would call hedging your bets! In fact all your posts seem to be done by "googling" LFC transfer rumors and then copy+paste.

LFChad

Kd just had another press conference he said sorry bout last one he said we tried gettin loan deal for tevez man c thinking it over we tried for errikson they said come back in summer we offered 9 mill for texiara but they want 12 so we hanging on and we cant afford cavani are you happy with that @nbsbw love kenny

30 Jan 2012 12:26:12
Hey eds

Well after Kenny's announcement, i guess u will be having the day tomorrow, so same time, same place in the summer!

Cheers for being there this winter with all the queries

Well thx thats it then uefa cup then

30 Jan 2012 12:24:23
no new 1st team players thats whatt kk says bye bye champions league

Why are there so many childish and miserable non believers out there. King Kenny and shown this week exactly what this club is all about. We lost to Bolton with no disrespect to them a team we should beat and we come up with two great perfomances and results against the dirty Mancs.

Kenny said all along that this team is a work in progress yet within a year of him being back we are back at wembley, doing well in the FA Cup and not too many points off 4th. So what if we dont get Champions League this year Kenny and the players are taking back to where we belong.

Still the team needs our fans to be fans and get behind them not whiney fans who complain 24/7.

YNWA Jonboy

30 Jan 2012 12:20:03
Kenny's just said that we will not be signing or selling any senior players this transfer window. Eds is he just saying that or do your sources now think the same? {Ed002's Note - Dalglish knows marginally more than I do about the matter. Or is it a smokescreen.}

Ed002 I like how you are trying to get us visiting the site tomorrow with the phrase "Smokescreen" but I think a fond farewell till the summer as we all Kenny is no liar and is honest as they come.

Great job as always and all you haters should go and support another team as we dont need your negative comments or disrespect to the ED's or any other fans.

YNWA Jonboy {Ed001's Note - he was being sarcastic, he has no interest in you visiting the site or not, he doesn't get paid for doing this.}

That response from the ED seems a bit harsh as Jonboy seems to be sticking up for him when most people bad mouth you all.

6th place at best

30 Jan 2012 12:18:03
So KK has said "there will be no ins or outs in this transfer window" in relation to the first team. I had a feeling we weren't going to bring anyone in or offload anyone. Would like to have seen an additional squad striker with pace and finishing ability and another winger with pace and decent crossing ability but I suppose that will happen in the summer! I'm glad Carroll is staying and came out and said it too! He has my full support, as does everyone else, despite some below par performances! Last couple of games will give the squad confidence and a couple more league wins and we'll be in a good spot to snatch 4th. Won't be easy but it's certainly achievable! Come on redmen! YNWA

Great patience by the eds too regarding some of the rumours!

Mike

Oh ye of little faith ........

Kenny has said no new signings on official website.

30 Jan 2012 12:17:23
I posted 3 weeks ago kenny said no signings and he has said again on lfc website today no no nobody coming to liverpool this january at all. My god some people have small minds,do they not understand what no means,personally i would have loved a new striker at the club but wont happen....irish kopitie

Titus Bramble doesn't understand what no means, allegedly.

Perhaps your massive mind may be able to understand that sometimes managers don't tell the truth in press conferences.... Don't be completely shocked if we nab someone.....

This I'd amongst the dumbest posts I have seen on here. Not only does he believe he had an 'exclusive' 3 weeks ago he's gullible enough to believe that there has never been a backtrack on such matters around transfer deadlines! If we were to quote every manager and player that made statements2 days prior to leaving that they wouldn't be I'd need a bigger hardrive( about 3tb)

Hey Ed's, what's the chances of us signing Marc Albrighton? I think he would be quality on the right wing. {Ed001's Note - very little, he does not want to move.}

Injured just now so why even think about it?

we are set to offer valencia 44m euro for soldado and pablo hernandez,although valencia want to keep soldado till the summer there current financial problems will see them reluctantly accept the offer.
paul d

Valencia, whilst still carrying significant debt, are servicing it comfortably and not in any desperate need to sell players to raise funds.

Stop making up rubbish. didnt u hear kenny say that there will be no ins or outs. so go do one. {Ed001's Note - funny Pardew said the same thing about Newcastle just before they signed Cisse.}

Absolute nonsense Paul!

30 Jan 2012 11:58:37
Only signing this window will be Marko Marin ....we only need a winger , our squad is good enough we just need the stars to start performing. Carroll will come good mark my words ....liverpool for life, all the way from South Africa

Thnx eds.

Nothing will happen.

No senior players coming or going!! Bummer!! The King just said so. Check the official club website. I guess fourth spot is now 50-50 scenario. Too bad. All we needed was one good finisher!!

No senior players to come, according to KK! Bit of a damp squib in the end, wasn't it?

Keith

Surprised? It's called the MEDIA! and the few which are true arent always as straight forward as FIFA 2012.

Rob s

KK quote on LFC website that there will be no senior players coming in or out. I guess that confirms that nothing will happen in the next 2 days.

My opinion is that no dm will happen, and we will only sign a striker or winger if anyone makes a move for the targets we have set aside for the summer, or if we can agree a deal for a young player whose price is likely to increase by the summer. Otherwise we think it's more sensible to wait, and I have to say that I agree. I think 2 or 3 signings could take this team to the next level but we shouldn't jump at whoever happens to be available in January. We'll have our targets and we'll stick to them, but probably won't be signing anyone until the summer

Hi Ed002's. People are saying Carroll had a good game on Saturday against man u. He did, but not a 35 mil game. Hope he goes for tevez. Tevez is a great player, can you see that on ehappening?? Bob {Ed002's Note - I don't see Tevez moving to Liverpool. Stranger things have happened, but not many.}

A £35 million game? I suppose that would be scoring a goal that qualified us for the Champions League! Don't rule it out... Yes we've dropped a lot of points but Arsenal and Chelsea are seriously dodgy, and our confidence will skyrocket after this wonderful week.

Jesus Christ! Not a $35 mil game? Are you kidding? He played really well and ran his heart out. He did not price himself at 35 mil!? He's young and I think will do well but needs time to adapt and a team to supply. I've heard Rooney is worth 50 mil- but het has about 2 games a year to justify that value! Ridiculous comment...

Rob s

Forgot to mention, Tezez won't look like he's worth $250k a week when he's refusing to play. Sound investment...

Rob s

Disagree. Tevez could have an unsettling effect on the team and my not be fit as he has not been training. I would have liked to see a big name signing but it does not look like it will happen now.However,if Andy can keep stepping up his game it will not be a problem.

I wish people would stop labelling Carroll as the £35 million man. Sure, that's what we paid for him.. But we sold Torres for £50 million... and is HE worth that amount? We got rid of Torres, a player who was unhappy, sulky, petulant and brought in a youngster who I'm sure will come good in the future...AND gained £15 million. I know there's room for improvement in his game, but wish people would drop the '35 million name tag' and get behind Carroll.

It's not Andy carrolls fault we paid that amount for him. A think u should just be happy with what was a much more accomplished performance by Andy. If he plays more like that for the rest of his contract and adds goals more concistantly every1 will soon forget the 35mil price tag!

I think the header to Kuyt was priceless to help us win the game.
KernowRed

I wish people would stop going on about 35 million . as john henry said we got shot of 2 ( babel and torres ) who didnt want to be here and bought 2 players that wanted to be here and we didnt spend a penny gettin them 2 players here . we didnt pay the 35 million chelsea did . its not carrolls fault the price tag was 35 mill . i would rather have suarez and carroll who want to play for the shirt than people who dont . get behind the big man i was there on sat and it was a big improvent from the big fella .

been told a bid for kuyt is expected in the next 24 hours from roma

Yup so we sell him and we're down just to Andy Carroll! They can bid but Dirk will go nowhere at least until the end of the season.

Down to Carroll, Bellamy and Suarez you mean?

Pat him on the back and say good-bye his time is up. who can honestly say 49 league goals in 5 an a half years is good enough? fair1 hes played on the wing alot and no1 can question his work rate but end product? always been mediocre at best. im sure il get slated now as he scored the winner satday but frankly most other keepers would have stopped that shot. de gay is s**te.

King Kenny just announced no senior players in or out before window closes. on official liverpool site.

www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/dalglish-no-new-senior-players

Bellamy has great difficulty playing 2 consecutive games so I didn't list him and while Suarez is coming back after one more game 2 full time and 1 part time forwards are not enough.Dirk goes nowhere this season.

30 Jan 2012 10:39:12
liverpool to get Marko Marin for £12 million and Lucas Barrios for £10 million

If we do get those 2 it'd be a piece of good business, Barrios good striker and Marin good natural winger.

BigD

Marin and de Jong

When? Not that they wouldn't be decent signings at those prices.

Marin is like muniain, will only move to England for Chelsea or spurs!!

30 Jan 2012 10:32:47
The only signing Liverpool are likely to make before the end of the window is a possible loan deal for Tevez, if it doesn't happen, we will go with what we have got until the summer.

Is that stating the bleedin obvious or what?

Today will be the announcement of Serge
Makofo signing from Grimsby Town on a 5 year deal. This buy follows a successful period for serge in which he excelled in the blue sq bet premier. The fee will be around 2 million eventually rising to 3 million pounds.

I'm from grimsby and have nothing of the sort. the only player who is excelling is liam hearn.

Why make this ridiculous rumour up unless you are a relative. The guy is average at best and has not done anything worthy at Grimsby we wouldnt waste 3 million on a non-league player.

Shut up! Grimsby thought he was not good enough, sent out to Lincoln... says it all really

Were more likely to sign serge from kasabian muppet

30 Jan 2012 09:35:27
Iv heard that we tried to sign tevez on loan and not with carrol as excahnge he has been offered to other clubs for 20m and that we only offered 40% of his wages which was plainly rejected that will be that deal now was audacious but no cigar, also few weeks ago i heard about macca and inter well i found out that it was coutinho from inter but he would rather stay in italy. So as far as were concerned well have to do with what weve got until summer were there will be investment similar to scale of this year hence why dalglish is not dipping in this year but i think likes of kuyt maxi will be gon and i see striker right winger and cm being bought.

And yet Macca himself said it was Luc Castaignos. Mixed wires?

Macca already said it was Castaignos

There not gona buy any1 need 2 buy some 1 blak whois good

Am i reading that right the third reply down we need to buy someone who is black are you mad mate just because of the saurez thing and 2 people in the crowd we need a black player seriously mate you need to think before you type

Rumours suggest that Javier Mascherano is in Liverpool holding talks with officials regarding a sensational £15 million return to Anfield.

Liverpool are looking to boost their midfield rank in the second half of the season after the inspirational Lucas was ruled out for a year with a cruciate ligament injury.

Mascherano left Liverpool for Barcelona in 2010 for a £22 million. His career hasn't really gone the way he had hoped, as a ball-winning central midfielder by trade but has not really been given a chance in that position due to the form of Sergio Busquest.

He is keen to get back playing regular first-team football again before his career comes to a close.

He still has a real love for Liverpool and dedicated that Champions League victory over United to the fans that had taken him to their hearts in a fruitful three year spell.

The Barcelona midfielder has a close association with Kia Joorabchian, who is also allegedly keen to get the Argentine back to England as he feel the style of football in Britain suits his player more than it does in Spain.

Liverpool have yet to confirm, or deny, the reports that Mascherano is in Merseyside to discuss a move but if this deal could be completed before Tuesday's transfer window closes then it would be a huge signing for Liverpool as they look to climb back towards the Champions League qualification places in the Premier League.

Players that love the club don't go on strike like he did at Liverpool.

What different is masch from tevez?

none

QED

What paper does this come from? The super soar away SLUM?

Dis we want Mecsh back? Yes we do . when Gerrard score more goal ? D. Hamman take Gerrard place in DM and Gerrard go froward. Alonso take his place Gerrard go forward . and Lucas time Gerrard is mostly injured. we need some one to take Gerrard place to make Gerrard a free midfielder that will help us to find the goal. now he leave the club yes he did but I don't think every player is Like Gerrard that money is not important Love for the Club is. we have to accept it.

R-R

Might have slightly believed you if you could spell busquets correctly

We dont need him back. He decided to leave us in the first place, so he can stay where he is and play as a defender over there.

I must have said this a million times.
Mascherano did not leave through dislike for the club he left because he and his family were not settled. So take your fantasy signings elsewhere.

We don't need him.. We need players who are more creative, its is goals we are lacking.. Defensively, we look pretty sound..

I think u will find Mascherano never went on strike he played his heart out againt arsenal even tho he knew he was about to leave. The issue is that his family could not get a visa to stay in the uk which caused him to be unsettled when at liverpool last time.

I could certainly see a loan deal for the next 6 months. It would cover the loss of Lucas thats for sure. Maybe Masch and Tevez could both be loans for the next 6 months to see how far up the table we can climb! Only 2 days left....anything can happen.

Sat what you want a millions times... You're well off the mark?
Mascha left (perhaps understandably) because Barca came knocking. Simple as that... The way he engineered his move, with complaints, sly digs from the Barca camp, and ultimately going on strike before the 3-0 defeat to city was disgusting.
Unfortunately for him this was unforgivable, he has, like Torres burned his bridges, and will not be coming back...
Tell me? Was he homesick like his compatriot Carlos Tevez?
... And just how much closer is Barca to Buenas than Anfield...
Extremely naive mate.

Excuse why would Mascherano come on loan? When he is a far better player than Lucas. To call him a cover player is laughable and insulting. {Ed001's Note - in what way is Mash a better player than Lucas? Mash did nothing while with us to in anyway deserve the high rating he has received from the fans. His passing was average at best, his tackling tended to be of the type that received cards, his temperament was, at best questionable, he went on strike when he didn't get his way. He offered nothing that Lucas can't do better, when fit. Any insult given to him is fully deserved for his pathetic little tantrums and his going on strike, I fully hope he is insulted. I also fail to understand how anyone can sit there and defend the little weasel.}

Completely running out of ideas aren't you?

"And just how much closer is Barca to Buenas than Anfield..."

Oh come on! It's surely a lot easier to settle in Spain if you are from a hispanic country!

Would you settle better in Australia or Argentina? Why do so many Brits emigrate to English speaking countries? There are plenty of countries closer to the UK with nice warm climates...

Personally, I'd love to see 'the little chief' back(on loan) anchoring our midfield, giving Gerrard the freedom to terrorize opposition defenses. If reports are true that he wants to get himself in the shop window, what better place than infront of the Kop? Maybe a double swoop for him and his best mate Tevez. Are they both still connected to Kia Joorabchian?

I don't see this, at the moment Barcelona have huge injury problems and I doubt they will get rid of him.

Masch is finished. Lucas is the future and in my eyes the captain of LFC after Pepe Reina. Lucas when fit believe it or not Defends and attacks. If u see him closely, he always likes to play g8 in. If only Benitez also tried him in G8's position when he came. He was originally an attacking player when he joined but had to become defensive....

Let him rot

Muggitzo

Lie down and takeyour medicine

' And just how much closer is Barca to Buenas than Anfield...
Extremely naive mate '

Much as I'm not sure about a possible loan move( I think he would be great for 6 months) it's not about distnace! The guy speaks castellano- which isn't too far off off from Spanish and cantalonian! The lifestyle is very similar. To the guy who posted the above comment.. Extremely naiive

Copy and paste from the ever reliable "caught offside"

Ed Can u please tell me what happened with joao carlos texeira...that young midfielder did we signed him or not....reply would be great {Ed002's Note - I don't know if it has completed yet but he will be going in to the reserves.}

30 Jan 2012 07:15:38
Rumours around Merseyside are rife that Javier Mascherano is in Liverpool holding talks with officials regarding a sensational £15m return to Anfield. From a report in Footy Bunker.

IF WE Manage (as suggested) to bring Tevez and Masch to Anfield (even if only on 6month loans). The lEVEL OF INTENSITY THAT THESE TWO PLY THEIR TRADE WILL NOT ONLY see us winning the ball higher up the field (conceding less) but more importantly forcing opposition mistakes closer to their own goal, whilst Stevie G. & Suarez can see the whites of the opposition keepers eyes. (scoring more). this gives us the most cost effective shot at champions league football with very little "settle time" for each as Tevez knows Cheshire and Masch knows the LFC WAY! When international class footballers become available LFC staff should never be too far away!

30 Jan 2012 07:01:47
Hi Eds, do you know if the swede, John Guidetti is of interest? He's still City bound i think, but I'm a swede myself and he's having a good season at Feyenord and has the potential to become a great striker (imo)

Also, is it true that Comolli was/are in Italy? I know the rumours about Cavani etc, but I was wondering about Gaston Ramirez as he was dropped out of Bolognas squad last game - Could be an injury also

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Guidetti is already a Manchester City player and is out on loan. I have no idea where Comolli is. There is nothing sinister about Ramirez not playing.}

30 Jan 2012 06:57:13
Hei, you guys have told us about the intrest in Luuk de Jong. I do not watch alot of games from Holland. But am I right when I think he can also play wide right? I do not understand why everybody keep demands a new striker? Suarez back, Bellamy proves to be a good frontman, and I have learned from slating Lucas, to back our young players. Give Carroll some faith and let him rebuild his confidence. I think he will play a big part in Liverpools future if given a chance. Thank you for your time eds. {Ed002's Note - He can play as a right sided striker but he is not a specialist winger.}

30 Jan 2012 06:28:23
Liverpool won't buy anybody this January. But I hope they get Tevez.

Liverpool don't buy anyone and that will cost Liverpool 4th place. the team need 2 player.

Are you a Man Cityfan by any chance??

"Lpool wont buy anyone this January but i hope they sign Tevez"....Have you any idea what your saying!!

This was liverpools last chance to sign quailty players . the top four will now break away and we will be mid table for a few seasons now welcome back thursday night football . dont think the club need camoli what has he done for the club

You dont even believe what you told us!

Eds, Liverpool for Abdel hernandez. Do you think we will actually make a bid for him this month?
{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

30 Jan 2012 05:32:54
Hi Eds

The loan deal for Tevez makes sence Firstly his got a lot to do to get away from City We all know he has attitude problem but on his day he is an awsome player to watch. When we play Man utd Tevez would take the abuse burden off Suarez shoulder I'm sure their supporters would boo him more
Also it would set as back 5 million but the financial gain is greater Its a win win situation for both parties.

Thanks Eds
Zorro

You are misguided if you think anybody will get more abuse than Suarez at Old Toilet. Fergie himself could play up front for us and get a winning hat-trick and he would still get less abuse. Suarez is in for a horrid time, and I hope he thrives on it. Michael Bland

Can see this happening very late tuesday if the milan deal does not happen, surely city would rather get some money in for this season then sell in summer...and also a loan to liverpool would be good as this season you are not title contenders but tevez could help you take vital points of spurs and utd which would help city..i think that was their theory with adebeyor but spurs have done too well and looked liek challenging them all the way

Toon Fan

City have stated he will not be going anywhere on loan.

To take the burden of Suarez against Man u shreud lets get him, what are you on? Luis strikes me as the kind of charactor who would thrive on such an occasion, and would feel he has something to prove.

KNEE JERK

Who would want to stay under thiose circumstances?

Football players are professionals who want to play not fans who support.

Michael Martin from FF?

Marvin Martin?

why isnt anyone talking about Cavani..? talks of a 30 million offer from liverpool tomorrow because chelski and city pulled out.

Why you guys always think cavani would come to us? please get out of the world of fm

EVERYBODY'S talking about him for some crazy reason but we won't be buying him!

Ahhhhh if you think Liverpool can't attract names like Cavani you are showing you lack the understanding of what it means to be a Liverpool player and the significance history of Liverpool football club let alone how big the brand of LFC is across the globe.

Shall we make a bid today? .... Naaaaa, let's wait until tomorrow, but first of all release the rumour to caughtoffide.com ... tssk.

Ai .. that's only from the view of lfc fans.
will players give a sh*t on it if the club cannot bring them honors ? only players who love lfc would think like this.,eg. Bellamy turan.

It's not a case of attracting big names it's finding £30 million plus huge wages for one player.We're clear of debt and can afford a reasonable signing but this sort of money is out of our bracket unless we sell someone.A year ago we were on the verge of administration and if we bought the players some posters demand we'd be in massive debt very soon!

Another fly by night poster.. If you read any one of the last 500 post you would realize he features in about 250 of them Einstein.

Tevez to Liverpool with a option to buy at the end of the season skysports reporter and daily mirror has reported it I think it could happen do you think so eds and macca? I can't tell if I'm happy about this or not I also know he wouldnt be match fit but would he atleast be ready for action after the wolves game? Thanks for all the hard work guys! Stop doubting macca also you bunch of hatred think about what he's done for us rumour thirsty fans! Also give the eds a break also they don't need your complaining

Tevez and Suarez partnership would be scary.. hope this can happen

You mean Suarez & Tevez lol deffo - a scary combo if Tevez can sort his act out and we take up the option to buy him then i would hate to be on the opposing teams defence next season with those two bearing down on goal, skill pace and they both know where the goal is :)

If you wa t to give the ed's a break how about asking a question which hasnt been asked in the previous 100 posts. It's a mystery they they haven't replied.

BBC/Sky Sports, are reporting Liverpool have made a cheeky loan offer for tevez for the rest of season, with an option to buy for 23mil at end of season... Sky reporter said he believes it will be accepted an he expects tevez to arrive at anfield sometime tomorrow...

{Ed016's Note - It would be a very sly deal if we got that, Imagine if he did settle in the loan, brilliant we can keep him, if he spits out his dummy oh well back to city they can deal with him, we aren't a threat to city anymore and it could only help their campaign if we did get him. Kenny is great at man managing I reckon if any manager could turn him around it would be him. Alas, I doubt this will happen very much. But if it did the above explains how it could work out. He has said he will accept a wage cut. None of the big teams are biting. Lets see what the madness over the next few days bring. If it was the loan + buy deal then I would be up for that}

I think it would be a good signing but dont u think he will be too similar to suarez? Or maybe they could play on the wings with carrol in the middle 3 up front? I dunno with no lucas?? What u think eds?

The BBC haven't reported it. The Mirror has reported it. Not a reputable source for me, as much as I'd like to see it happen

Red Ollie

Imagine fergies face when we play united in the league and we have bellamy, suarez and tevez in the squad. That's the only reason I want a loan for tevez to go through, well that and having a better shot at the cl places.

As for the 23million permanent option I would say neither the player or lfc want that.

Tevez was never disruptive or a pain to deal with at West Ham or Man Utd. Maybe its Mancini who is the issue? Would love to see this happen, but not sure it will.

Plus 23mil if he does do well is a steel for him, he's still only 27...

How much ever Tevez is a nuisance, there is absolutely no doubting his talent.. If anyone can manage him, it would be Kenny..
Hope a deal can be arranged within window closes. Imagine, Tevez & Suarez leading the line, it would be amazing..

Hope this is true. wouldnt want to buy him as he would 100% mess our dressing room up but for 6 months he could help get us back into the top 4 for next season. Nothing will suprise me after last deadline day so lets see what happens! fingers crosses we get someone!

It does seem a bit too godd to be true, but it makes sense for City becuase we still have to play Suprs and United so it would benifit them if they drop points againts us.

How can this be real?

We can all think about Tevez going here or there, but the fact is he is the same as Aquaman.......He doesn`t want to stay in this country!!!It has nothing to do with man city, or Mancini, he wants to go to Italy or Spain....anywhere but here!Pinhead.

No they havent you liar. Give us the link....the only story they are running is the swap deal that will never happen

Can't find this report you speak of with either BBC or Sky Sports

Not sure whether I believe all this transfer talk regarding Tevez, but Mancini created his own monster. Bellamy had the same falling out with Mancini. He just handled it better. If bellamy could show his worth to us then so could Tevez. I just think that a wage cut for Tevez might still be too much for Liverpool to pay.

"None of the big teams are biting" says the Ed and that explains it all.Loads of talent and goals but he's poison in the dressing room.

30 Jan 2012 09:15:26
kk would take Carlos Tevez on loan

www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Liverpool-offer-to-take-Manchester-City-Carlos-Tevez-on-loan-article859210.html

Kiwi Red

BBC haven't reported it.. It is in the Gossip column.. Usually BBC are accurate on the transfers, they don't report it unless they are 100% sure about it..

I wouldn't take tevez on a free. He will ruin liverpool football club and probably have a detrimental effect on suarez's passion for lfc. Plus his family live in argentina, I'm not even sure he's in england right now!

I know he'd be an asset and would give us a major boost for top 4, but I would be really disapointed with any team that got him, especially Liverpool, I think he's a discrace to football. He has soo much talent that 95% of lads in the world wish for, including proberbly 90% of footballers as well, and he completely wastes it. I remember reading about him talking of not wanting to play past 28 ect. I'd rather him waste away now.

I could only imagine the player player Teves could be with someone like Kuyt's character.

Tevez would be a decent signing on loan, he will no doubt try and prove his critics wrong wherever he goes, even Man City if he gets another bite at the cherry. Also could do with him in my FIFA team as I'm getting battered constantly at the moment!

Liar the bbc have said no such thing

If man city were to accept a loan then he'd go to milan. they wouldnt benefit of a short term loan

Liverpool are poised to make a double Bundesliga swoop for Werder Bremen's Marko Marin and Borussia Dortmund's Lucas Barrios. (found on papertalk "s*ysports")!

Most of the stuff in the papertalk section is s**te (like all the Carroll to Man City sh!te).

But.. has anyone seen these guys or heard any rumours about them coming to LFC?

I think a couple of germans would go well with the team!

They're both good in my opinion and personally I'd like to see both come in. Something about Marin I really like tho. He's a bit on the flashy side but definitely entertaining.

They're both quality players in my opinion. I suppose the real question is price. Marin is 22 and would be a great buy for both the present and the future, Barrios however, is 27 and I think he will be quite expensive. Still hope we will buy both.

Marin would be good.. Great trickery, has a good cross in him..
Barrios i'm not so sure..

Barrios is Paraguayan

Marin wont happen!Its like munian, hoping for a move to spurs or Chelsea

Hey eds how come nobody has commented on Gaston Ramirez being in the stand next to Suarez 2nd half against man utd. Am convinced it was him. Deadline signing?

The person seen sitting with suarez is simply his best mate from uruguay not a player, his gf flew him over as a suprise for suarez's bday. see his fb or twitter for the picture of him on his bday

Can anyone confirm if it was actually him? Eds, macca?

As far as I know it was actually nicholas lideiro

Your not alone mate. I also thought it was him

That was fabio aurelio

I can reassure you... it was definitely Gaston Ramirez at the Liverpool game... Both he and Suarez are good team mates for the Uruguay international team.

Gaston Ramirez was in the stands next to suarez, is he injured? Hope we sign him he's total class.

Nobody has commented on it be because it wasn't him!
It was his mate, Leo, or something like that.

Off course it was Ramirez!

Sorry to burst your bubble, and mine as well, but that is not Gaston Ramirez. That is Louie's good frield Leo who was in Liverpool for his birthday and the match.

Liverpool and Tottenham head a host of clubs ready to trigger Demba Ba's £7million release clause in the summer.

The Newcastle striker has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 16 goals in all competitions.

And the Senegal hitman is ready to quit the North East after just a single campaign.

In a further blow to Newcastle, Ba will pocket a staggering £3m of the transfer fee, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The buy-out clause was inserted as the club refused to meet the player's personal demands or pay a significant amount of agents' fees.

Ba is keen to remain in the Premier League, despite interest from across Europe, and the 26-year-old hopes to double his current salary to £60,000.

The Manc mirror strikes again with more rubbish!

His agent received 2mil in the deal and ba has said he is happy on tyneside....but who is to say if a bigger club offers him more money and a longer contract he may consider it as if his knee goes now he would be all but finished and left with a low paying, short contract

Sky sports now have a story on there text page with direct quotes from andy carroll about how he dose not want to leave and how great everyone has been to him, seems the tevez story didnt last long

RED DOGG

In my opinion that rumour was never close to appearing as a true one. Carrol: expensive, but still full of potential, his value might seem high now, but if he grows as a player(which he has like 3-4 years of, before you can talk about 'wasted money' and hits 20 a season, well then we all might think otherwise. And as Kenny stated: "we will be more patient, than everyone else". Tevez on the other hand: top class footballer BUT; He's an ex united player and who wants that crap, he is in "bad standing" in every club he has been at in England, he would most likely only be here a year, before he would start moaning about homesickness, lack of pay or about that fact that the cold wheater hurts his hip. Oh, and HE'S AN EX UNITED PLAYER. Total b****cks... Give us some real talent. Both on and of the field.

hello Ed002'
is there any truth in the marko marin rumours hw would be a great signing
cheers. {Ed002's Note - There has to be a chance - but perhaps slim. AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the past and I hear that Arsenal are interested at the moment. Much will depend on whether or not Liverpool make the Champions League as to whether he is a viable option or not; and the summer is a considerable distance away at present. Perhaps Italy is the most likely destination, and I understand his preferred destination.

i would really like ryan bable back, didnt get enough chances and i think he would be very good under KK.

He had more than a year to prove his worth. Great personality for the club, but couldn't perform

Whenever he played well - Rafa dropped him.

It's not all his fault. He had so much ability, it's a real shame. Rafa banned him from extra training too. Marco Van Basten called his treatment by Rafa 'a mortal sin'.

Just saying.

BJH YNWA.

He was not good at all, pretty poor infact

I was a huge fan of babel, he could have played a major role at anfield

Kenny had him and sold him. I dont think he would want him back.

I agree mate,barley got a chance under Rafa.By the time Kenny came in he had to be sold to fund other transfers.

Lets get Gary Mc back aswell

Babel and n'gog should have been given more respect. we lack babel's pace and power and n'gog's athleticism and work rate. Confidence is vital and they weren't given any by those around them (i.e gerrard and benitez) {Ed001's Note - what workrate? Ngog's big problem was he was so laidback, lazy even.}

Eds, Ive read the rumours and banter pages, and talk of Carroll leaving is really high on the agenda. I dont think hes going to leave or the club are looking to sell but thats my point of view..

Is there actually a chance of him going in January or is it just utter garbage? Any feedback would be great,
Thanks
RedHawk {Ed001's Note - the only players going are those that are replaced.}

Am i to read between the lines of that comment Ed.

Or am i jus blowin smoke ?

Mr Slonk The REd {Ed007's Note - You blow what you want mate, we won't hold that against you.}
