Eds do you think that Wilfred Bony would be a player that could fit our system and be a player of interest?

{Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Firstly great site and really respect the eds for all their imput. Keep it up =) VARANE any chance?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has a sustained interest in Varane but Real Madrid do not want to sell, particularly given that their proposed replacement, Mangala, will almost certainly not be available to them. He will not be joining Liverpool.}

I would love to see Bony in Liverpool colors! He has had a great season with a below average team and would be a great back up to ad something different to our game.

Agree0 Disagree1

He has scored over 20 goals this season but not sure he's got the pace for Liverpool myself

Agree1 Disagree0

Pace is not really his best attribute but he is very strong. Good player imo but would he be the type of player BR would be interested in? i'm not sure myself, although I think we looked at him before he joined Swansea.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think a big strong forward like bony or lukaku would be good. It gives us another option when you play teams like Chelsea who have strong defenders who are good in the air.

If you look back at the Chelsea game, we crossed the ball numerous times into the area and it was always headed out by a Chelsea player.

Look at the difference that Andy Carroll made in the FA cup final against Chelsea a couple of seasons ago.

It gives us another dimension.

hi eds do we have any real interest in a player called Z.Bakkali and if so what is the chance that we get him, he looks a great prospect for such a young age, i'm sorry if you have already gave out any information on this player

Believable12 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - PSVs Zakaria Bakkali has attracted attention from Chelsea, Arsenal, Norwich and Augsburg. I spoke with a "specialist" in the Netherlands leagues but he is a light year away from first team football in the EPL and any move this summer would potentially be a dent in his career - although Chelsea will look to send him to Vitesse Arnhem on loan.}

any chance of young french CB Varane from Real? Him and Sakho would be great as CB partnership imo

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Hearing that BR is planning on going in for Mkhitaryan again. not sure I would like him in the team especially as he dissed us this past summer. thoughts

Believable5 Unbelievable32

No chance he will move IMO.

Agree1 Disagree1

He's only been there one year! Pretty sure he said something like, Liverpool have a great past, dortmund have a great presence. It wasn't that bad!

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty hard to 'diss' someone if your parent club hasn't actually agreed a fee with the potential acquirer. You act as if he had a choice to make when he didn't.

Agree1 Disagree1

"diss" wow, not heard that for 15 years.!

Agree3 Disagree0

Good player would complement Suarez and Sturridge very well but that boat has sailed lads

Good day Ed02, hope you are well and sane :)

A quick question, Do you see James Milner being made available by City? And if he was, is he an affordable player? (In terms of wages+transferfee, etc.)

Fellow bros and sistas, what do you think?

I think many wouldn't want him here, but he is a seriously under-rated box to box midfielder who has been used out wide since he moved to City. When I look at Milner he reminds me of a little better dribbler and a more composed version of one of my absolute favourite players Hendo. (If you haven't been to a live match and seen Henderson running and pressing you wouldn't get the full picture of how good Henderson really is) I think Mr. Brendan Rodgers would do wonders for his confidence and use him in his right position to get the best out of him. He has played the most football since moving to City this season and still is a bit part player.

Believable1 Unbelievable24

{Ed002's Note - You need to stop asking about money - I have explained repeatedly that I don't want to discuss it. I don't see any chance of Milner moving to Liverpool this summer.}

No. We won't be buying a lot of players this summer, so I rather the players we bring in be better than Milner.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not a bad squad option at all for me. Better players could be signed though, sure. He changed the game when he came on for city against us at anfield.

Agree0 Disagree1

I'd like to pretend I haven't thought the same but.

I don't even really like Milner but there is something about him that makes me think he'd do a great job at Liverpool.

But as has been mentioned, not likely to happen.

Hi eds,

Is it true Chelsea have signed Diego Costa for £35m?

Believable8 Unbelievable26

{Ed002's Note - The transfer window is closed at the moment and the money is of no relevance, but the expectation is that Costa will complete the move.}

02 May 2014 11:38:21
Wonder what mourinho will complain about next season. Diego Costa is a beast, and he will get another top top striker, Lavezzi or something like that. And when Torres and Lukaku are sold 1 more will probably arrive. Realisticly I don't think Cavani will be playing for any other team than Real Madrid next season so maybe Falcao. And still he will complain about something. Chelsea have some serious talent out on loan most of will be sold in the long term as long as top players keep arriving. They have the lad at Benfica and the lad at Derby. Banging them in. Lukaku turned westbrom last season into a top 10 side, just look where they are without him, he has helped Everton to be serious challengers for a top 4 finish. He is an animal, on his day impossible to stop so I wish Those £ 100 million Strikers arriving will settle in well to the PL and not regret making the same mistake twice. They have already helped us immensely with Sturridge and now Lukaku will bang them in for Roma or Dortmund :)

Ed02 - Can I ask a genuine question about this. Why would he want to leave for a weaker side? The move doesn't make sense to me. Is it financial?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Would you have asked this question if Chelsea had won this week? You need to think about how the transfer process works.}

02 May 2014 14:16:32
Cheers for the reply ED.

Good point - possibly not - but I would have personally still thought Athletico are a better side than Chelsea overall (but then in my thinking at present they are the most balanced team in Europe at present so this isn't an insult towards Chelsea).

Regarding transfer process overall - you alluding to the likes of Courtois and Torres being included in negotiations?

Cheers ED.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Chelsea would probably pay him a tiny bit more than Atletico do, RobbehMolby.

Hi eds and Reds,

reading this morning about a possible deal for hatem ben arfa, obviously him and pardew don't get along he's banned from training, he was one of the most talked about up coming French players a few years back, would you see this deal happening I think he would be a decent back up player what are your thoughts?

metro is the source so not so confident but thought I would post.

Believable10 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - Newcastle has done a fantastic job in sorting out Ben Arfa over the past 2 years but again issues are arising. There was a time when it looked like Marseille were just going to give up on him. I recall my wife saying that Bursaspor offered to take him on loan and it was seriously considered before his moving to Newcastle. Arsenal and Schalke have previously an interest but if Newcastle were to make the player available this summer then I would think PSG would be the desired destination for Ben Arfa. I know nothing of any interest from Liverpool at this time.}

Hi eds around january time we were linked with romulo of spartak who was just returning from long term injury. Is there any interest there from us or others that you know of as he seems to be back playing again recently.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of there ever being any interest in Romulo from Liverpool and one has to consider the problems (similar to Michael Essien) he has had over the past two years and if it would make sense to risk funds on him. I wouldn't - but to be fair he is a very well respected player.}
