According to Canal+ Fekir and his agent will be meeting with LFC to sort the final details of a deal and if it can be agreed he will have his medical then.

Heard this kind of rumour a lot lately, hopefully it's true this time.

{Ed002's Note - Thank goodness Liverpool are skipping by his club and his commitments with France. I thought it was a done deal last week.}

02 Jun 2018 23:18:14
Let’s be honest Liverpool and standard transfer protocol is hardly a match made in heaven. Just for clarification I’m assuming the club has still not made direct contact with Lyon?

Cheers.

Agree3 Disagree6

{Ed002's Note - My understanding is that they have.}

02 Jun 2018 22:56:06
😂😂😂😂
Considering our previous conduct this wouldn’t surprise me at all!
Next will be an apology to Lyon by the club!

Madness these rumours - click bait I get, but putting your name to such tosh, and then it not happening you'd think would lose all credibility.

Thanks for posting your Liverpool rumour in regard to Nabil Fekir on the Liverpool Rumours site, Alex. I do hope that Canal+ are correct and Liverpool are indeed 'skipping by his club and his commitments with France' to gain his signature, despite the acerbic reaction from certain quarters.

The express are pulling info from some French journalists twitter. Don't know how reliable the express are.

02 Jun 2018 23:37:22
The Express are about as reliable as The Melchester Echo.

{Ed0333's Note - where’s Melchester?

02 Jun 2018 23:43:14
I guess someone called Mel bought Chester and renamed it?

02 Jun 2018 23:53:31
Thanks for the reply Ed. I also hope that the rumour is true and that we actually comply with correct procedures to ensure we don’t fall foul of any further breaches of legislation that may impose serious sanctions on the club.

Cheers.

So that's either sporty or scary spice then? Honestly doubt that the French fa will allow anyone time away to do a medical. I know other fa's might but I doubt the French will. I'd love to be proven wrong.

I take it you weren’t a fan of Roy of the Rovers Ed?

{Ed0333's Note - yes now I get it thanks for filling me in. It’s quite funny when the penny drops lol.

03 Jun 2018 05:23:03
Can the any Eds shed light on the progression of the talks with Lyon. In the sense are Lyon openly negotiating or sticking to their guns regarding no transfer before the World Cup. Also if a deal is struck could the club send their staff to France to for the medical as they did with Ox? Cheers Eds!

Melchester is not far from Salford, where Mel an (d) chony are extremely depressed with the football they are witnessing under Mourinho 😎.

Nay. Trust we don't want any bergwijns! BPL is not for bergwijns. We want season campaigners who are way past deflowering phase.

Looks like Jack Butland is happening lads. Bookies have seen a huge spike in bets this morning. Someone knows something I reckon, and Macca has backed this move to happen since day one.

Remember the last Keeper we signed after he got relegated?
Me neither.

Agree18 Disagree3

02 Jun 2018 14:53:29
Piss poor if you ask me. A position that require a top class performer and we go for a bottom half keeper again.

Agree16 Disagree8

02 Jun 2018 14:57:06
Not good enough just like Robertson. Trust in Klopp - he doesn’t get transfers wrong.

Agree24 Disagree18

02 Jun 2018 15:03:27
In Klopp we trust. Din everybody groan and sigh when we sign Mane? Butland in hands of Klopp will be a De Gea.

Agree12 Disagree23

02 Jun 2018 15:11:38
False equivalency comparing a dodgy keeper with an under rated left back. The flaws in Butlands game are easily exposed and will be time and again. We may as well stick with Karius as he is not a better keeper by any stretch. He has looked shaky AF all season.

Agree7 Disagree12

02 Jun 2018 15:13:40
Hope not he’s last choice I’d want. got to be oblak Allison imo.

Agree11 Disagree4

02 Jun 2018 15:15:23
L. C Karius in the hands of Klopp needs I say more

It is pointless us sending big money on all different position in the team with a 2nd rate keeper standing behind them. I think we need a top keeper to mount a serious challenge which we haven't had in a long long time.

Agree12 Disagree5

02 Jun 2018 15:19:30
Remember a few seasons ago I think the bookies even suspended betting on Ribery joining us. Means nothing.

Agree17 Disagree1

02 Jun 2018 15:24:39
I don't put much faith in what bookies say, they are simply out to make money for their companies, however if it's Butland, it's Butland that comes and so be it. If it's true then be prepared for endless days of whinging and whining about it.

Agree11 Disagree2

02 Jun 2018 15:34:17
If it's Butland let's give the lad a chance.
And I very much doubt he'll be coming as second choice goalkeeper.

Agree6 Disagree8

02 Jun 2018 15:39:07
We don't need a keeper. Kieta mane salah Bobby and the ox running at teams. Just win 8-5 every week.

Agree17 Disagree3

02 Jun 2018 15:39:31
If it’s Butland that comes then it’s just more of the same. He’s nowhere near a top class keeper as he’s shown.

Agree10 Disagree9

02 Jun 2018 15:48:05
Is that ‘give the lad a chance until he drops an absolute howler in an important match’? You cannot tell me he’s a significant improvement on either of Mignolet or Karius.

Agree11 Disagree5

02 Jun 2018 16:15:29
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. its also not moaning and every one of us would get behind him if we sign him. doesn't escape the fact as a goalkeeper he is no better than what we have. And saying Klopp will make him better? How? don't believe Klopp coaches GKs!?

Agree9 Disagree5

02 Jun 2018 16:38:31
Not good enough. We haven't had a decent keeper since Reina and it has cost us. Seeing as we're able to offer champions league next season and having reached the final this year, it makes us a more attractive proposition. As such, we should be going all out for someone that is top class. Butland isn't IMO.

Agree11 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 16:42:16
This will be our best signing of the summer by far. I am well excited. Let's hope it happens quick.

Agree6 Disagree14

02 Jun 2018 16:47:19
Butland is just an Englishmans karius. Could be worse thought. Could be going for Hart. It's shame we are scrimping on the most important position. But I've seen teams with crap keepers win trophies.

Agree7 Disagree2

02 Jun 2018 16:52:59
Here we go again, pushing players out before they’ve even signed. Where have we seen this before? Ox, Salah, mane, VVD, Robertson. All have been tarnished with the ‘ ‘not good enough, never will be’ brush.

Wouldn’t be my pick but I’m not a scout or a top class manager. Butland hasn’t been the same keeper since he came back from injury though he was one of the best in the league a couple of years ago, he’s not short on ability, just needs to get back to his best form.

Agree13 Disagree3

02 Jun 2018 16:55:57
Who needs a decent keeper when we will be scoring 5 plus goals every game.

02 Jun 2018 19:02:53
Don't judge butland on last season. Came back from a serious injury.

Imo he has potential. would prefer a of the shelf but not devastated if it's him.

Agree4 Disagree1

02 Jun 2018 20:29:27
Absolute madness to spend 80m on a keeper. Everybody goes on about Allison yet we stuck 7 past him. Oblak isn't leaving Madrid. If we do get Butland so be it. Klopp doesn't buy to many duds.

Agree5 Disagree2

{Ed0333's Note - I totally agree mate. Listen I’m no goalkeeping expert but Becker didn’t look anything like the beast the world keeps telling me about against us. I know he’s highly thought of on here by Ed’s and reds and he maybe be outrageously good but to spunk a world record fee on him would be in my opinion risky. Far better to have 2 decent keepers vying for number 1 and spending the money on Fekir, Dembele etc.

02 Jun 2018 20:50:42
Typical keyboard warriors on here. Butland, who has yet to make a mistake for Liverpool yet, getting slated in favour of a keeper who has made more mistakes than he’s made saves.

Butland is light years better than Karius and I can’t understand everyone saying he will be no improvement. If we picked up a keeper from the Conference he would be an improvement on Karius.

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed0333's Note - good evening Mr Butland didn’t know you frequented the site.

02 Jun 2018 23:15:13
Redmersey, Butland is a bang average keeper (at best) who is lower table fodder. Fact is that a top class keeper like DeGea wins Man United 15 points a season and that’s what we should be aiming for. Butland has cost Stoke more than that this season with a combination of throwing the ball into his own net, dropping crosses, letting in easy shots (particularly at the near post) and lacking concentration at vital moments as well as the fact that he’s as nimble as a Tiger 2 Tank. So when you say that he hasn’t made mistakes, you could not be any further from the facts. He’s made loads of them. Typical of pretty much every English keeper around. He’s turning into Joe Hart at an alarming rate. So he’s not a significant upgrade on Karius and every mistake that Karius has been pilloried for, Butland has done. Except we’ll pay £40m for the privilege of seeing an Englishman doing it instead.

Agree4 Disagree4

02 Jun 2018 23:05:00
I’m not a fan of butland myself as I would be worried about any of the relegated keepers. But we have to ask, behind that defence that went down, would any keeper have looked good?

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jun 2018 08:59:52
Frankly you have been up and down this site slating butland for a couple of weeks now, has he done something in particular to you. 😂

He is a good keeper that just needs to recover his form and confidence. He can be a much better keeper than karius, just needs to prove it. In fact karius maybe needs the close competition to improve himself. Im not opposed to this at all.

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Jun 2018 09:56:46
My mate's a avid Stoke fan and recons Butland was a big contributer to their relegation.

For my twopenny worth either upgrade or stick, Butland at best is a slight upgrade and certainly not worth throwing a fair percentage of the budget at.

Becker on the other hand plays the style Klopp wants is young and highly rated by more informed people than us, I can't remember the goals he shipped against us but none were like last weeks.

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Jun 2018 10:56:18
Don’t look at next club betting markets, they are so volotile and normally limited to low amounts, it wouldn’t take much to send odds tumbling.

Agree13 Disagree6

02 Jun 2018 10:53:07
Nor can I but also can't believe we want to stick with a keeper who made two unfathomable errors in the biggest match there is in club football.

02 Jun 2018 10:57:55
Bobby: Totally agree. Same with Donnarouma. Have seen him play a few times and he didn't look as good as everybody makes him out to be.

Lets just wait and see what happens. Maybe they are working on getting someone it that nobody has on their minds right now. There are a lot of keepers on the move and i could see someone like Trapp moving as well and nobody speaks of him. Maybe we have to young german boys next year.

Agree3 Disagree2

02 Jun 2018 11:22:08
I agree, Oblak is the only one worth considering. rock solid GK, but he does have a decent Defence in front of him

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 13:40:31
yes, we put 7 past Allison, but, Liverpool were on fire V Roma, and I would think that Allison would have met with certain Liverpool staff while he is there,
while Oblak has more seasons playing at the top level, I think that Allison is better with the ball at his feet, also coming off his line, and for crosses,
cheaper too, and he already has a good mate here too .

02 Jun 2018 13:42:06

Agree5 Disagree0

02 Jun 2018 14:56:20
Kevin Trapp is terrible. As is Navas, Cillessen and Butland. None of them would be the difference in winning games as they’ve all got mistakes in their games and make serious howlers.
