Hi eds,
I've tried the search function but no joy, is there any truth in the rumours of young left back Luca Pellegrini being looked at by us?

Many thanks

Henlow red.

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea sorry.}

I think it would be a good signing as a back up to Robertson. Hopefully the lad goes on to develop his game and become a star.

Hi ed,

Is pgs interested in coutinio?

Will we sell him if we buy keita.

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Yes PSG are interested still. Barcelona could also potentially look to him again if they don't get the player they want.}

02 Jul 2017 18:42:44
Hello Ed002, can you tell us which player are PSG interested in as their primary target? (out of curiosity? ) .

Hope your travels are going well ed!

{Ed002's Note - This is the Liverpool page. As I have said, PSG want Coutinho}

Hi ed,

Will Liverpool sell if there is a good offer from the above teams.
What is Liverpool's position on coutiniho.

Thanks for the reply.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I suspect they would like to keep him.}

03 Jul 2017 01:33:42
Any team would want coutinho that doesn't mean nothing unless we sell.

03 Jul 2017 02:09:08
If it doesn't mean nothing, does it then mean something?

If we keep selling our best players then what's the point? Torres knee was gone so fair enough for 50 mil and suarez was dying to play for Barcelona but coutinio is happy here, his kids have scouse accents, I don't think kieta could replace what Phil brings to the team but together I think any team would be worried about us. With mane and salah and their pace were going to be a nightmare!

I don't think Coutinho will leave. He's never expressed a desire to play for anyone else as far as I know and he seems happy and settled with us. I appreciate this is football and players move around but I just think we'll get at least another season out of him.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Coutinho and his desire to play for Parcelona is well documentaed.}

03 Jul 2017 09:56:16
I think you will find he was talking about the Royal Mail's first eleven there, Ed002.

Reading between the lines i suspect he has signed a new contract with a promise that he will be sold next season to barca. We should get a stellar season this season as he plays for his move.

Ed 002.so it could transpire that an offer of some sort has been made for Keita to RBL. No surprise there as Keita is a main target for Klopp. If this is the case then at least negotiations are being done as they should.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - RBL said as of yesterday they have had no offer for the player and he is not for sale. Liverpool may well put an offer in.}

02 Jul 2017 19:13:52
Thanks for reply Ed002. From what you stated that PSG have interest in Coutinho, and with Liverpool potentially making an offer for Keita, then it seems to corroborate Klopp saying that he's considering a change in the way the team is set up. Maybe this is a way of deflecting criticism if Liverpool do end up selling Coutinho? Appreciate your reaction, Ed002.

Agree2 Disagree3

It has been fairly widely reported that an offer will go in later this week. Probably just waiting for Klopp to get his feet back under the table. What I find interesting is that there are no reports of other clubs chasing Keita, same as no one else seemed to be interested in Salah.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in him from elsewhere but (a) he is not for sale, and (b) if he were the price would put clubs off.}

Morning Ed1,

Recently one of the Eds mentioned we had been monitoring Nastasic. I was wondering if he might still be an option?

Thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - there has been no move towards getting him at all, so it doesn't seem likely to happen.}

02 Jul 2017 19:38:58
Thanks for the reply Ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

Eds. Is it true Ox has turned down a new increased contract offer, meaning likely he will jon us?

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Klopp likes him, I have explained that but try not to draw conclusions that it means anything is "likely".}.

02 Jul 2017 10:26:41
Sounds like his agent is leaking info to the press to either get Arsenal to stump up more for his client of b let those interested such as LFC make an offer. If he moves to LFC I hope it would be due the Klopp effect but I am guessing the Ox wants at least 150k+ per week. Why would LFC pay 25m + and pay 150k per week for a player with 1 yar left on his contract? I suspect we have tapped him enough to get him in January for free unless someone else comes in.

I think he's seeking game time to help his development more than a pay rise right now. Seems grounded, well as much as a modern footballer can be.

You'd think we'd know better than to deal with a snake like Aidy Ward.

Hi TIA19 if it was purely about playing time do you see the Ox at Watford, Stoke, West Brom or Bournemouth?

Agree5 Disagree5

02 Jul 2017 11:53:02
I don't think it's purely gametime, I again assume it's playing time in a midfield role, playing at a high standard alongside better quality players and he probably has ambitions to play in the champions league and the top end of the league still.

Agree2 Disagree3

02 Jul 2017 11:55:07
He's a big time Charlie. Wants over 100k a week and to be playing regularly in a position he's not competent in.

Agree10 Disagree5

02 Jul 2017 12:33:42
I think the lad can develop his game. But he needs game time and stay injury free. He is not a central midfield player, his positional sense is poor in the middle and doesn't read the dangers from a defensive perspective. He is a player who is best used across the front coming off either wing creating opportunities and scoring. Decision making needs to get better in final third. Would he get in ahead of Mane, Salah, Lallana? I don't think so.

Agree6 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 12:43:01
Thing is EVO I can't see that he can develop his game as he's a very one dimensional player, like most English footballers. It's all power and no finesse.

Agree4 Disagree5

02 Jul 2017 14:55:09
Sounds like David Beckham hansanscar.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jul 2017 16:09:58
Spot on, Hansen. Ox is too one dimensional and Klopp may like him and that's fine BUT Klopp liking a proven poor player, cannot suddenly make the player a good player hence, washing away his record. No way.

Coutinho is far more capable of playing in centre
midfield, he's got the vision, passing range and is physically stronger and tougher than he's given credit for.

@kingcarlos you can't sign English players on a free in Jan. Last month of contract only so June usually. He would be able to speak with foreign clubs in Jan.

I don't think anyone would deny that klopp is a fantastic manager. I love his style I love his personality and he hasn't really put a foot wrong yet. If he sees something in the ox then it must be there imo. If I had one complaint about last season it's that we got battered physically a few times. Technically gifted players are not always the strongest. Ox is an exception to that rule.
