Scouts from various clubs watching Borussia Mnchengladbachs Sinan Kurt. Apparently Liverpool, Porto, Arsenal and PSG are scouting the 17 year old.
Sinan spends most of his time playing for the reserves in which he has a remarkable record of 52 goals/assists in 52 games with a breakdown of 31 goals 21 assists. Could be snapped up for as little as 1 million euro.

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Sounds like Pacheco!

Agree1 Disagree0

Before the start of last season didn't Brendan snap up a German Wunderkind who was supposed to be so good he played for the German under 21's at 17? He's vanished as far as I can see so I'm very cautious about us chasing after another teenage superstar. {Ed002's Note - To be fair to him he vanished with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Also to be fair Ed he collected that injury with only about 3 months of the season to go and his performances up to then had been less than stellar. It's easy to recommend spending say £1 million on a teenager but we have to be careful about the quality of who we buy. {Ed002's Note - He was what, 18? I think he deserves a little time.}

Agree0 Disagree0

His performances were so underwhelming Plank that BR decided to give him his first team bow against WBA.

If you watched the U-21s match against Crystal Palace you would have witnessed his quality when he scored with a half volley lob over the keeper's head.

If you've ever played the game you will understand how difficult that particular skill is. That's why he is so highly rated.

Hello eds

could you please tell me if agger or lucas will leave.
thankyou eds {Ed002's Note - I don't expect Lucas to go, but I remain of the opinion that there will be an enquiry or bid for Agger from BArcelona.}

Believable9 Unbelievable21

Will or may?

Agree0 Disagree1

Let's say Agger went to Barca, would anyone treat him like some players wanting to leave - Luis / Pepe

Although I'd hate to loose Agger I think he's always been professional and not courted a move. I know he wanted to hear more about a potential offer in France but (IMO) has always been as respectful to out club as you could wish.

Hope he stays but can see him signing for Barca no bother

Agree3 Disagree1

Would be gutted if Agger leaves.

Agree1 Disagree0

We certainly don't want to lose any more 1st team regulars, especially Agger. Personally I would not be heartbroken if Lucas went but nobody wants him.

BBC reporting that suarez will consider handing in a teansfer request

Ian the red {Ed002's Note - Surely you were told that a couple of weeks ago?}

Believable16 Unbelievable18

Lol, I am so in shock who would have thought that would happen!
should have kept carroll, a player who wanted to wear the shirt, ok not quite as good, but hey he scores goals {Ed001's Note - and turns up to training drunk, plus doesn't want to wear our shirt, only Newcastle's.}

Agree0 Disagree4

Good. We need to get this drama over with.

Agree1 Disagree0

Must be a slow day if that passes as news for the BBC

Agree3 Disagree0

His handing in a transfer request doesn't mean we'd sell him any cheaper. I'm easy whether he stays or goes but IF he goes we want top money for him!

Agree3 Disagree0

In other news, Princess Kate will probably have a BOY!

Agree5 Disagree0

Sorry ed, not been a regular on the site for a while, little boy to look after and all that! I didn't realise that suarez would be that keen to hand a transfer request in given the financial implications of doing so personally! Just saw the article on the bbc and thought I would share it with the masses but obviously i'm out of the loop haha

Ian the red

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed, please clarify this for us. My friend who happens to be an Arsenal fan is having issue with me on Suarez. Are we obliged to sell if he submits a formal transfer request? Can't we still hold on to him and sell to a club outside England? Please Ed we wanna know your opinion. Good job done man.
Sam -USA {Ed001's Note - we wouldn't have to sell, no. We could still hold on to him and make him see out his contract. He would then need to go to court to get us to release him etc.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Well you know it's guesswork because you post begins BBC - famous for inventing stories that cause problems, but are very rarely true.

Agree1 Disagree0

We don't have to accept it. so far I think the club are playing a blinder. and calling the shots, so expect fire works if suarez is in deed the kind of person we don't want to believe he is. could get messy but I hope not.

R2tB

Agree2 Disagree0

The BBC main page Suarez headline says 'Legal action'
The story leads only with 'considering transfer request'
No quotes from anyone involved except rubbish from Wenger. This is standard fare from the BBC.

The BBC site and journalism is now more sensationalist than the gutter press. {Ed002's Note - This is the same story that was discussed a week before Suarez headed to Australia. His agent says that there are three clubs interested in the player at this time. Obviously two are Real Madrid and Arsenal, but I don't know who the third might be. If I had to guess, I would say PSG.}

I can't believe if true that Honda is about to be sold for £3.5 million to AC Milan! This is the first time I will say I cannot understand why we did not show interest again for him? I may well have missed something but it seems crazy to me

Gareth {Ed002's Note - This is to get him a few months early - he has already agreed the move for January.}

Believable8 Unbelievable6

It's the same as before, when Milan get Urby Emanuelson for 1, 7M euro, when our strongest left back was called Koncesky.

Agree2 Disagree0

He's a good player, but fits best (in my mind) as a CAM and for that role (to me) Coutinho is better than Honda.

Hi eds,

Do you think Suarez will join Arsenal because Lawrenson seems to think its nailed on.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't know where he will end up but if Arsenal make an acceptable offer to Liverpool his agent has made it clear that the player would be open to a move there. I would however suspect that it is not his first choice.}

Believable11 Unbelievable19

Ed do you reckon any other club previously interested would revive their interest in him?
Just don't want us to do business with Arsenal. {Ed002's Note - It is certainly possible.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Just hearing that a soft agreement has been reached wenger says we in talks for the player and respect lfc wishes {Ed002's Note - There is no agreement at this time.

Agree1 Disagree3

Who else would be interested? If Madrid get bale and keep Ronaldo then surely they would not bid for Suarez, that's unless there is any truth in the rumours of Ronaldo leaving. If psg are out of the equation would chelsea and bayern come into it? I am assuming man city have enough forwards. Dan {Ed002's Note - You seem to find it easy to cut teams out of the running DAn.}

Agree0 Disagree1

As much as I want him to stay, I expect that there will be more activity at the end of the month once his ban has been run down a little more. I still think that it makes more sense for both him and the club to wait for January because he will not be cup tied in the Champions league and I expect that some CL teams will be looking to bolster or improve thier squad in January, so he could be in demand and could go for a good fee. Or perhaps stay if we're doing well in the league?

Agree0 Disagree2

Just be aware tho. there are other sides in the name off monaco and bayern munich.

never say never I don't think he will go this summer but don't be to hasty when there are a few other options.

Agree2 Disagree1

A "Soft Agreement"? Like we sell him for a pint of lager and a packet of crisps?

Agree1 Disagree2

The thing I wonder is, if no other sides come in for him probably relatively soon, will we be more open to negotiations with Arsenal? Guess we'll see soon enough.

Agree0 Disagree2

Its difficult to follow this whole sorry saga, 1 day he is off the next he is staying, one day he will not contest his clause then he will, We have had extracts from interviews over the summer from S. America, maybe out of context to give Suarez the benefit? yet it all seems to point to him wanting off, I do not begrudge any player wanting to fulfill his potential, but with Suarez there are exceptional circumstances, given the way the fans, players, staff and club have stood by him, through acts he did and only he can justify, it just leaves such a sour taste in the mouth, He could have left with respect had he been honest from the start, now its likely he will leave under a cloud, such a shame the man cannot show the same respect back, it will be very interesting to see what the Anfield reaction to him will be tomorrow?

Agree2 Disagree0

As far as I am aware if Arsenal want Suarez they will have to cough up at least 55 million.

Agree1 Disagree0

What I don't get now it may not be as simple as this but why can't we say to the goons. ok you can have suarez but we wan't 40m cash no installments and we wan't to speak to theo walcott. now I can't see any harm in asking or even try and prize podolski away. if they say no we then say 55m cash up front. take it or leave it. maybe wenger may have to then stop talking and cough up. either way we get 55m or we get a player plus cash. atleast it will give the goons something to think about. then they may have to hurry up before maybe munich come in for the player. I am confident if we sell suarez eriksen and papa will be brought in. and adding these two guys will add more strengh to the side than suarez. we will even have change.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Aug 2013 17:05:10

Eds, do you know of any interest in Bologna's Saphir Taider? Seem to remember us being briefly linked a couple weeks back

Thanks! {Ed002's Note - Saphir Taider remains in a wage dispute with Bologna who have rejected an offer from Montpellier for the player. His agent approached Manchester United to see if they would show some interest in him.}

Ed02 can I just ask if you have recieved confirmation of the bid that was supposedly made for costa, or do you believe it to not be true? {Ed002's Note - It seems if I say anything on this subject it will just draw out the vegetables KM, so it is best that I don't.}

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Atletico will only return from their tour of South America on Tuesday morning. So short of Costa and some executives flying out to handle this alleged transfer, I don't see how this will be sorted in the next 48 hours.

Agree1 Disagree1

I don't think a bid has been made you no. the bid makes no bloody sense when you have the likes off eriksen and papa waiting for an approach. if it is not a replacement then why would we sign another striker? the bottom line is I don't think we would be silly enough to let suarez go too the goons. just my opinion. so there is no replacement for suarez to be made yet.

Agree0 Disagree1

It's all come out of nothing hasn't it, but all the normally reliable people (Tony Barrett, Ben Smith, James Pearce) are reporting it. Something tells me it's a smokescreen for a bid for someone else, I just can't think who.

Agree1 Disagree1

Of course the bid makes sense.We have our main source of goals wanting out and our other source injury prone, We are ready to drag the Suarez move till clubs meet our evaluation, So rather than be left at the starting post till January, like last yr, we are trying to get targets done.It will also show clubs that we are not relying on the sale of Suarez to do our deals.

here's a tweet from Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia after he was sent off for a rather nasty stamp on Mr Costa: 'In short Mr Costa, next time keep the monkey noises to yourself. The first red of my entire life playing football and I get four matches :(?'

So racist as well as the horrible spit flinging. BR sort it out FFs. don't want another liability.

Neel

Believable22 Unbelievable30

The perfect Suarez replacement then.

Disney!

Agree7 Disagree1

Unless this happened throughout the match, then he has had no opportunity to make any noises! He was taken out by Kondogbia and straight after was stamped on.

If it was true (what Kondogbia said), why has he not gone to the Spanish FA?

What makes me laugh is that every fan in England wanted Suarez's head last year, but the moment there's a chance to sign him, everybody wants him. This is the same as Diego Costa. They are fantastic players which have a bit of attitude - the same attitude which probably helped them get where they are. Again, if any player wants to wear the Liverpool shirt, I will support them all the way.

Agree9 Disagree0

Bet you won't say that if he scores 30 goals this season.

As we stand bad boys sell that's the world we live in.without the aggreshion and natural passion we was born to thrive on wants to be taken away from u people thinking u are better than other people and judge them buy there mistakes your living life wrong we forgive we forget and grow stronger that is life if u don't get that then it will be tuff. fact is we need more passion more aggreshion we are screaming out for it and when we get it u want to slag it off br knows what he is doing trust him and sfg well i'm honestly seeing peoples views from both sides of the argument only time will tell on them . but if city come for a manager who has been told he has no money or can't buy who he wants would be wanting to leave there was no doubt in br mind he was staying at lfc because they are backing him that's what that shows me and I belive we will win the leaugeas insane as it sounds a good team is better than 11 superstars put together . let's walk together and belive together

Agree1 Disagree0

No he won't be saying that if he scored a few. All the complainers would be up his rear if he comes and scores 15+ fickle fans.

Agree1 Disagree0

What is it with fans? Win at all costs? Cheat, spit and be racist? And then we have the hypocrisy of the un PC terms booklet from the club! I don't care if he scores 100 goals, I've wanted Suarez gone for ages but understand the club can't just let an asset go for free. In this case we are actively seeking out this type of player which is very worrying. We are LFC and we are a club who historically have done things the right way. i'm sorry doego costas baggage suggests he is just not worth it. Goals or no goals. Neel

Agree4 Disagree2

Some fans make me laugh the first so called liability scored 30+ goals if costa can add 15+ to that then he is welcome at Liverpool. try supporting your team instead of finding harmful stuff to put negative spins on stuff "ynwa"

Agree0 Disagree1

Any signing that Liverpool make as a replacement for Chompy will get scrutinized and interrogated by the media, fans and pundits.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuff happens in the field, I am not saying it is right but there it is. Some people are very naive if they think the players all pat each other on the back and are nice to each other. Costa is a good player, and I say would make us a better attacking threat. Trust the management to make us compete.

Agree1 Disagree0

Some posters really make me laugh, you all cry out for a big money signing and when we meet the buy out clause for one and there is a real possibility that he will sign you all have to find the negative things about the player and not the good, yes looking at his disciplinary record its by for not the best 15 yellows & 1 red but as a fellow poster above mentioned just like Suarez he has that added bite about him and winning mentality that is required and he probably would not be where he is today had it not been for his attitude, if we sign him than i'm behind him 100% and hope he does extremely well and as quoted above if he scores 30 goals all you negative posters would be singing his praises.

Agree4 Disagree0

Wondered why Anfield is so crap these days, but after reading all the negative posts on here I can finally understand ;)

He's not here to win a personality contest, just to be a quality player who can get us competing again.

Adam

Agree1 Disagree0

Ive only seen Costa play twice not enough to get a good judge on skill how do you guys all rate him. Eds any input would be appreciated it.

Agree1 Disagree0

From what I've seen watching La Liga last year he's a useful player, seen him drift out to the wing when Falcao was playing too. Strong, decent speed, dot see why he wouldn't do well.

Agree1 Disagree0

Seen this made me laugh regarding the possible costa transfer
Tony Barrett says this sums him up.

If we get him it almost makes me want Suarez to stay.it'll be like serial killers competing .
giblet

Agree2 Disagree0

Believe it or not, it is actually possible to be both a Liverpool fan and an opponent of racism and violence.

And for the people going on about personality contests - in many ways it _is_ a personality contest. You think any major sponsors will touch us if there are enough incidents?

FSG too - people don't buy sporting teams to make money, they do it for the glory and prestige of owning a winning club. They won't impress many of their peers at the yacht club with a first eleven full of rapists and murderers, will they?

I hope that BR and our scouting department identify and bring in players to improve the first team before the window closes, but I also hope that those players are decent human beings.

DK

Agree1 Disagree0

Only skill a striker needs is to know how to score goals and that should be it.

Agree1 Disagree0

Only seen a few videos of him but he can certainly handle himself physically and looks a good finisher.Not the mazy skills of Luis but a very effective striker.
CR

Agree0 Disagree0

You have to admit it is a little incongruous for a club to issue booklets on what can and cannot be said during matches, to travel to the other side of the world visiting schools for the blind, and then to sign and field players who feel free to stamp, bite, spit, and cheat.

Because, hey, they're just helping the team, right? "Win at all costs"?

FSG and Rodgers need to engage in some reflection.

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't get anywhere in life by being nice. If he does sign then I'll welcome and support him like any true supporter should. I've not seen much of him personally but he looks quick strong and scores 1 in 2 from what I can see, so why would you not want that in the side?

Agree0 Disagree0

So sorry, to get somewhere in life you have to spit, bite, be a racist? Sorry I didn't know that these were the key attributes required for getting somewhere else in life. Its not a popoularity contest, some fans just don't want the players for the club they support to be absolute filth!

Neel

Agree0 Disagree1

Could cost rodgers his job, let's avoid these south american nutters who come from the gutter and clearly can't change

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's to say he made these noises mercelo said Messi made monkey noises to him before does that make Messi a racist no it doesn't it seems to me Costa has relaxed more over the years but hey doesn't matter who were linked with until they hold up that jersey they ain't our players so don't judge only encourage get behind hope it all works out its always a gamble in football

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you trying to give out to BR for a player we haven't signed? (BR sort it out FFS.?)

Agree0 Disagree0

"You don't get anywhere in life by being nice."

What a dumb comment. You spend a lot of time cheating, making racially charged comments, stamping, and biting people at work do you? And this has helped your career?

Why do you think Standard Chartered almost pulled their sponsorship after the Evra fiasco?

Agree0 Disagree0

I will support any Liverpool player until they prove me wrong and if costa comes the same will apply, however I've just seen his YouTube clips and they don't exactly cover him in glory yes he looks like a handful but he also has some vile attributes.
I know you can't make a judgement from YouTube clips and to be fair he seems to get kicked all over the park by defenders but I do think he may be worth avoiding!

Hi Eds
Not ITK but have been told that the Papa deal is very much on and the main issue is how the fee is paid. We are trying to protect ourselves against a possible recurrence of his knee problem by lowering the up front price and more on appearances etc (I know it is finance so don't worry if you don't want to comment).

Left back bid Guilherme Siqueira? {Ed002's Note - Granada's Guilherme Siqueira has been subject to interest from Fulham, Liverpool, Everton and Lille although no offer has been made at this time.}

Believable7 Unbelievable13

So Ed it is true LFC are also interested.
Do you reckon if we don't get work permit for the Benfica lad, which according to you we won't, we will make a move for him? {Ed002's Note - I have never said Lorenzo Melgarejo won't get a work permit, I simply said he needs one. Siqueira has been in Europe for 10 years and is an Italian citizen, so doesn't need one. He is also subject to interest from Galatasaray now. There is also unconfirmed interest from Real Madrid who would look to him as cover. I would add him to the "Possible" rather than "Probable" pile.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks for the reply Ed. {Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Agree3 Disagree0

You don't need to give a big answer 002 but do you rate him? I have never seen him. Just interested in your opinion {Ed002's Note - I would rather not "rate" players. You need the fantasy footballing Eds for that.}

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Cissokho is still the main loan target for LB cover, we're just keeping our options open with Melgarejo/Siqueira, a few more new names will probably come about soon. If we can negotiate to paying less of his wages, then that deal will likely happen and all other interest in LB's will be dropped. RC

Agree0 Disagree0

Sam
To answer your question.
He is really a quality LB. The best way to describe him would be a fast Leighton Baines. I feel he is that good that he would actually replace Enrique rather than being back-up. The problem I feel is we don't have much funds and are looking for a loan deal which unfortunately Granada will not agree.

Hi Fellow Reds,

Not in the know at all, but judging by the rumours flying around that Liverpool have made a bid for Costa from Atletico Madrid, one can't help but feel that this is the first REAL sign from LFC that Suarez is on his way.
Shades of when we bought Suarez to "play alongside" Torres.
Just my opinion(not claiming to know anyone involved). Don't slate me for it - seems that's what this site has become more about these days.

Thanks,
Faizal

Believable53 Unbelievable31

What are you on about? Carroll was bought when Torres left!

Agree1 Disagree3

No slating mate from me just my opinion

I think your half right in that way about Torres but let's just think of this we had the money to buy MK but he choose Dortmund now Rogders has said we have enough in the midfield/playmaker role so that's why we can buy Costa for 20 mill+ and Rogders said he wanted an extra 20 goals well just look at Costa last season 20+ goals so put 2 and 2 together and boom we have are selfs a very good goal scorer who is strong quick for being 6ft 2 and a real fighter like Suarez but the only thing is he does have a nasty side that I hope we can control
In Brendan we TRUST

Agree5 Disagree0

It is hard to judge really. Ayre and Rodgers are pretty adamant that he is going nowhere, but if we have Suarez, Costa, Aspas, Sturridge, and Borini, it seems like there could be too many fighting for those positions. Those five are all strikers, but with the exception of Borini, can all float into the right and left hand side of the front three. Throw into the mix the likes of Sterling, Downing, and Luis Alberto, and suddenly it feels like we have too much cover. The three behind this gaggle will be Gerrard, Coutinho, and Lucas. Hendeson came on a lot last year, and Allen can provide cover for Lucas, but I would like to see this money going into a cover for Gerrard, and ultimately be his long term successor in the middle of the park. I can see us loaning Sterling out, and possible Ibe as well. Those too look very exciting, but perhaps there isn't a place for them in the team this year.

Agree1 Disagree2

WHY? - all the challenging sides have 4 quality strikers - we need 4, it seems more likely to me that Borini may return to Italy.

Agree2 Disagree2

Morning fellow reds. I don't think suarez is leaving what I think is Liverpool are rolling the dice. which means we are showing suarez that we are determined to give him what he want's in terms off champions league football. there is no way suarez will go to arsenal and madrid will not spend money on suarez as well as bale. BUT who knows bayern may yet approach us regarding suarez but I doubt it.

if we can sign another two maybe papa. and maybe eriksen then Liverpool will be firm favourates for top 4 you mark my words. it will be one hell off a side we will have that is for sure

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Aug 2013 10:56:33
Lfc Londoner. Some interesting points. I think we may see Gerrard dropping into dm this year if Lucas is unavailable and Allen or Henderson stepping into Gerrards role with more license to move forward. Allen took this role on in one of the friendlies. If we get more attacking talent without ls leaving I could see downing going either sale or loan to remove his wages from the bench. Would'nt like to see rs on loan this year and I do believe ibe is at too young to be allowed on loan.

Agree3 Disagree1

I agree that we may see Gerrard a bit deeper this year. How great it is to have Coutinho, finally Gerrard can be confident of someone else central creating chances, something we haven't had since Alonso, although the two are very different. I can't see Allen scoring more than five or six goals in a season personally, so question whether he could step into the shoes of Gerrard. That being said, he is still very young and has plenty of time to add that part to his game. I too would like Sterling to be in the squad this year so he can kick on, but that does mean that we need to get rid of Downing, especially if Costa comes into the squad as well.

This would leave one CB to buy to partner Agger, and a LB to fight with Enrique, and then we are done.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2013 11:58:59
seems rubbish to me. do we really think that atletico will sell their 2nd best striker in the same window they sell their best in falcao. its not smart to start a new season have two brand new first 11 attackers. just saying I think its a stretch.

Lfc.Londoner. agreed cb in to replace skrtel. Lb in. Attacking player in, looks like it maybe this Costa fella. Coutinho. What can you say, he's great now but looks capable of taking the step up. If we can keep him and become a successful team, when my kids grow up they'll be singing songs with their kids about him giving us dreams and songs to sing.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the first person who replied to the initial thread. When Suarez was bought, Torres was still here. Get your facts straight.

Agree0 Disagree0

In my opinion. I believe the move for Diego Costa will turn out to be something we later regret. For £25 million I would of much prefered to see Eriksen, alderwierald and Rondon. For me that would of shown more value for money and more ambition. I was really looking forwards to seeing Liverpool this year but something about this Diego Costa guy has made me a little unsure. I have seen him play a few times and remember him fighting with some right back and chasing him around just to get in his face. For me not what Liverpool want. We have had enough of that rubbish with Suarez. The same applies with Papa really he is also very aggresive in nature, now I no we need a bit of steel throughout the squad. But we need people who get the ball down and move it around not thugs making all the wrong headlines. Even Michu would be a better signing than Diego Costa for that amount of money and with premier league experience. YNWA. ben

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez will not move to an english club BR is buying players he belives will move the club forward so we have to trust him and the scouts and has for fighting for places that's can only be seen as a posative we got no european football so we can concentrate on the premier league a few clubs have also had a lot of changes and we are getting depth in the team it sounds like a good season ahead to me (costa can also play on the wing)

Agree1 Disagree0

Signing another striker might be a good idea, suarez is still banned for six games, sturridge won be fit and has had no pre season, so we would only be left with aspas and borini, so I don't think that would be enough to give us a good start to the season, when they are all available, I think borini will be loaned out in January.
