Daniel Agger's agent Per Steffensen denies that the player is injured. Why? "I can't answer that. Ask the manager", he says.

Daggers

If he goes MEXES will replace him I here.

Wish i cud close my eyes and the new season was ready to start with targets IN AND OUT, hate all this waiting and agent says and paper talk,

Agger to Barca or madrid !

If Rodgers lets Agger go I'll be disgusted with him. It sends the message that were a selling club. Agger was one of the few players to come out of last season with any sort of credit. {Ed002's Note - Nobody cares about messages. Players are simply transient employees who come and go.}

Perhaps just perhaps Rodgers thinks he has enough to win the game without Agger and he's going nowhere, just a thought

Jay spearing still getting a game, my heart sunk, for as long as he's at the club, it means we're not very good ..terrible player

Rodgers is clueless, same set up as dalglishs team in the FA Cup final, no new ideas, to small minded

Rats jumping ship.

Disney!

I feared for the worst the moment Rodgers started bigging up Carragher's rather then telling our best two central defenders they're the foundation he'll build the team around. If Carragher loved us as much as his media buddies claim , he's do what Gareh Neville did and admit he's not up to it anymore but his ego's that big he'll be shouting at teammate till he breaks Cally's record

If we sell agger just to make a couple of quid then in my eyes FSG and Rodgers can go to hell.

Didn't his agent also say "utter nonsense" to suggestions he was leaving the club. Not mentioned here....hmmm

{Ed002's Note - Nobody cares about messages. Players are simply transient employees who come and go.}Players with a potential interest in playing for Liverpool care about messages. It gives them an indication about how ambitious the club are and what direction Liverpool are going in (ie up or further down). So yeah, selling Agger would indeed send out the wrong message to players who want to at least bec challenging for champs league foot all

They've been back training for only a few weeks (mainly youth and reserves) new manager, new system against a team well into their season and you lot are moaning.

The word PATHETIC comes to mind.

Paul

According to Tony Barret:
Rodgers: "The plan was always for Daniel to stay behind. Everyone knows his history of injuries, he came back to pre-season after everyone else is'nt up to speed".
Hopefully that helps to clarify the situation. Keep calm everyone it's only rumours without any facts
Nimmz

I agree with Paul. Some of you (supporters??) are disgraceful and really should pull your heads in. Not your money paying for anything and think that you run the clubs. absolute jokes.
ozdave

I think Agger is our best defender but if Barca come calling with 15-20mil how can u say no? Its not like he plays a full season for us, he too injury prone. May as well take the money , buy a new Agger for half the price and wages and get a full season out of him. Not saying try and sell him but if the offers come its logical.

Ozdave. Not our money? Without supporters paying for season tickets, ssn subscriptions, and replica kits where do you think the money comes from. The Americans aren't here for a good time, they're here to make money out of Liverpool as a commodity. Supporters make Liverpool a commodity, so even in your 'money is all that matters' viewpoint, supporters should be entitled to voice an opinion on how it is spent.

Ozdave, don't know if you've ever been to Anfield, but the 3 hour journey, parking, taxi to ground, (if the traffics bad on the M6) match programme, pie, drink, shirt and ticket cost a lot of time, effort and money to even do once in a season. To do all of that and then sit in a freezing cold stand to watch star players playing mediocre football is immensely disappointing. I think it definately gives us the right to question the direction of the club. We need things right on the pitch to keep fans coming back. There were a lot of games with spare seats last season.

Think your wrong Editor2 - as someone else has mentioned messages of ambition andvision matter players perhaps weighing up joining the club. They also matter to players at the club - no ambition will see our best players leave sooner or later. Messages also matter to the fans as well - we want to see signs our club wants to get back to the very top again, that we want to challenge - selling our better players hardly inspires confidence in doing that.

I hope the Agger story is nothing but that - a story.

SMc {Ed002's Note - Sure, all players are looking for is messages of ambition and vision. Almost certainly the reason Drogba and Anelka moved to China. Your view is very naive indeed.}

Point taken that our money on replica kits etc. Still supporters need to realise that it is NOT us that run the club.
ozdave

Drogba and Anelka are poor examples. They are in the twilight of their careers and have moved for the last big deals as a lot of players do now, just look at the MLS. If you look at the likes of Mata, Hazard and Oscar going to Chelsea, they didn't just go for the money they went for the ambition of the club - to win trophies. If West Ham had matched Chelsea on wages would they have chosen them instead, I doubt it. That isn't to say that there isn't mercenaries out there, players who cash in on there gift and then do as little as possible with it - just look at Carlos Tevez! {Ed002's Note - They did not go because of any "messages" sent out by Chelsea though - after all Kalou, Drogba, Bosingwa all left with Champions League medals. Sure a message of woe by your reckoning?}

Give the bloke a chance! He's been here 2 minutes! What a joke some fans are!

You can tell who the real fans are here and there aint many of them! slating the manager before the season starts slating players get a grip! if the top teams come in for a player and they want to leave whats the point in stopping them let them go and bring in other players forget about this bulls**t about sending out the wrong message thats just football players move on the majprity of people on here are dumbass keyboard bashers
Dan

Football is a business get use to it
Dan

Basicly if agger leaves, its because the club believes they can build up a team faster whit the currency they would get for him, agger has said the same thing so many times, he is happy in liverpool, and believe when i say this, he has had the chance to go to all the big clubs already, it has never been about the money for him, if he switches club, it will be liverpools choice.

100% agree with ED002 here, there are too many naïve followers of the football club who cannot distinguish between the passion we have as fans and what we believe should be done with the club which of course has a bottomless money pit with the business element of running a successful football club, which as someone pointed out above is a business. There is simply too much of investor money floating around for anyone who presses the button on sales of players etc to care too much when looking at the message' it sends to prospect players when making x amount of millions profit.

Has anyone considered the positive message it could create for the position our club is in currently, a player like Agger to arrive at Liverpool as a good player to then be sold to say Barcelona (a link I believe exists) currently the best football club in the world as a world class player isn't too bad a position to be in. The message this actually sends out to other good players (which at the moment is the standard we can attract) is that one day by moving to Liverpool they could move to the best football club in the world - after several years of dedicated service they get their reward! Before you stand up shouting about how we somehow deserve to have world class players, have a look, not at the history but where we are now.

I imagine the types of people arguing against Agger moving on for a decent amount of cash (15 - 20mill) are the same types who simply can't understand why Messi, Ronaldo and Cavani aren't our attacking spearhead this coming season.

Further food for thought; Mata, Hazard and Oscar wouldn't come across to the Chelsea faithful very well if their media given reasons for joining was, well I'm getting paid a lot more money so I can buy an even bigger house and car.
Wake up people football = business, as much as we love to love the idea of it not being, it is, of course there are exceptions. But let's face it at this level none of them do too badly for money do they, so when they disguise a, I can't be bothered to move elsewhere as I'm settled here and I'm never going to be shy of a bob or two million, with, I love this club so much I will not move, ever then you have to ask yourself what really is the reality.

Phil

What is your opinion edd002 that Rodgers are interested in Swansea players so much. Okay Allen is brilliant but I don't rate either Taylor or Sinclair. Or is those two just media hype. Also heard a rumour that moussa sissoko could be on his way to anfield if Liverpool misses Allen.
Cheers. {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Allen as is well reported. Taylor I don't know. Sinclair I suggested might interest Liverpool as his future is to be sorted out after the Olympics. Sissoko sounds like old news. Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko has previously attracted interest from Lyon, Roma, Fiorentina, Genoa, Juventus, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Arsenal and Milan's previous interest waned over last summer. Last year Damien Comolli let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard but for some reason Liverpool failed to make the final push in the summer. Sissoko remains available but Liverpool have seemed to have long lost interest. Right now I would have to say Roma or Fiorentina are most likely to get their man this summer - if he does indeed move.}

Scott Sinclair is nowhere near good enough for Liverpool.

Taylor seems like a vert good player from what I've seen of him for Team GB. Not really paid any attention too him before then. If he plays like that week in week out then he's a good prospect.

Hi all,

Ed's is anyone from the PL looking at Miralem Sulejmani from Ajax? And if you've seen anything of him what do you think?

Cheers

Rascal Red {Ed002's Note - He'll stay at Ajax for now.}

Liverpool are in for Scott sinclair and neil taylor. A bid of around 16 million is been quoted around anfield as the fee. I think it will rise. but could be good signings.

Why dont we just swap teams with swansea omg what is going on.

16m?! did u mean 1.6? They're so average.. Allen looks decent tho..

So that would be 31m for 3 of there player's then yes?.never going too happen,allen get him in LFC before the yid's get him fact.jay essex red for life red till dead

Good signings for west brom.

Why didnt rodgers just stay at swansea?

We shud just call ourselves swansea i can see midtable

If rodgers thinks all these Swansea players are so bloody good he should have stayed there as Manager. WTF are we playing at , its crackers

Whats with Swansea players come on Brendon we are a bigger club than that get a grip man.

Managers have returned to their old clubs to sign players for years. he obviously feels certain players can do a job and knows them better than anyone.

Rodgers is too small minded to manage a club like liverpool, be another manager at the helm in 12 months

If this is true, then we have indeed hired a manager who has no aspiration to compete with the top teams. Hell why don't we just buy the whole Swansea squad and replace the existing lfc players! Am hoping that this is only a rumour and not based on any fact otherwise quite frankly, we are f*cked!

If that is true, we have to understand that Rodgers cannot attract quality internationals. We have to have a)CL football, b)financial power to offer handsome wages c)experienced and charishmatic manager to attract quality players. Have we got any of these? hence, guys be happy with whatever you get.

Please god no !! ,i am trying to keep the faith after so much disapointment ,i have been l.f.c supporter since 1974 ,so i grew up in the glory years and these last few with those g&h w*****s ,then woy, and then my idol the king not working out,i can only hope that most of these rumors are just that, allen ok, but lets look elsewhere for players not f***ing swansea ! ,we are liverpool fc !!!!, i hope br buys accordingly ,but what do i know

What are you going off people, football manager? Youtube videos?

Our manager knows a damn site better than any of you about HIS plans. Give the guy a fewking chance! I very much doubt that we will sign anyone other than Allen, but if we sign the other guys, I for one will be backing him.

SuperDuperSuarez

Ed 002 the south wales post say that swansea have given allens reps permission to discuss terms with lfc they say the deal will set allen up for life please post and a reply would be amazing {Ed002's Note - Certainly the deal for Allen is getting close.}

Have been massively impressed with him during olympics. what a player. And also neil taylor and scott sinclair. Doubt the swans will be too impressed if we go in for them aswell.

Heard from a reliable source today that we are definitely interested in Theo Walcott. BR wants to play him through the middle with Borini & Suarez either side of him. Walcott wants to come and Arsenal's transfer moves suggest they are willing to let him go.

Was also told we are open to offers for Downing.

PieInTheSkyMan

If BR does want to play Walcott through the middle I have definite reservations about his managerial abilities.

TSP

The downing bit I do believe.Anything over 10 Mill.

Utter rhubarb!
When did Walcott ever play through the middle ? Do you think we all fell outta the sky ?
Must try harder.

Why? walcott is poor out wide and would make a better striker

Agree with TSP

Look at the name of the poster enough said!

Walcott was put out wide in a similar fashion to what Henry was its to develope him apparently, he has always wanted to play a more central role but due to arsenals 433 system and te likes of Henry, adebeyour and van Persie always been ahead of him he's never had the chance to go central at arsenal.

I could see it working well he's use to the style of football were hoping to play, he'd certainly add pace to our frontline and could be used wider if needed, plus he's a Liverpool fan and would want to play for the club and not just be here for the pay cheque like some.

I'd be happy enough if we signed him.

Surely dempsey will start one side of him?

Its a well known fact that walcott is garsh on the wing, but through the middle i think could be a really good buy if we pay 10 mil or less. Downing, well i dont think he has ever made a cross from the byline. Sell him for 12mil minimum.

He's forced out wide in arsenals 4-3-3 system so he's gonna come to Liverpool and play in their.....(wait for it) 4-3-3 system

Yeah..BR want him to run like headless chicken behind suarez and boroni

Your talking about walcott and downing?? both are inconsistent and not really good enough? :(

Juan Manual Vargas, anyone heard anything further, I always thought this would be a great move if it came off?

TS.

TS
where's the proof

Out of interest, TS, why would it be a great move? From what I've seen of him, he's pretty damn lazy as well as being somewhat overweight, I know he can play LF or LW but in my opinion defensively he isn't as good as Enrique which is saying something. If we're going to give Enrique some pressure to fight for his position then I'd much prefer to give Robinson some more playing time, the lad gives it his all and has a hell of a lot of talent.

JP.

LB, not LF.

JP.

This player, when fit, is a great player. versatile aswell. he has a wicked cross on him ( better than SD) great free kick on him (better than suarez and Adam) and he runs his backside off. he is strong on the ball, he has a good work rate and he is experienced. Anyone who says he would not be an improvement than they are very wrong. Also he who said he is lazy, what are you talking about. you have clearly not seen this lad play.

Not gonna happen!

I spoke with him at a burger van the other day i couldnt make out wot he was saying as he had his mouth full of burger lol

We will have too get a XXXL shirt in for him,he is not the player he was,next

Not sure where this Vargas rumour has come from, I can't see why Liverpool would be interested in him at all. He's 29 in 2 months and is hardly in the best shape of his career by all accounts?

MarkB.

My colleague's wife works for the club .. Charlie Adam is being offerred to Fulham for Dempsey. Not really to say it's an offer , more like the club agreed to meet Fulham's demand ...

Simon

I hope to god this is true lol....

2 birds, 1 stone. If this is true I'd be delighted!

I thought we'd found the worm in the club that was leaking info but since then dozens of "I know a guy/gal who works for the club" posts have been made.I'm assuming now that everybody who works at Anfield or Melwood is a grass!

If it is a straight swap then it a very good deal indeed..!

Haych

Yes please sell him. NEVER was good enough. NEVER wanted him, kenny though yeah why not, hes scottish. bye charlie

Suspicious post....In just curiosity, how did you make your colleague's wife to speak such secrets? hmmm...

Well, CA's (Charlie Adam) corners are pretty decent but that's about it.

Chuck plus a few quid ,we get Dempsey would be a good deal for both IMO

McGurk

His tackle was inexusable against Bale a few days back. I dont mind an aggressive defending once in awhile, but that is just pure laziness. We dont need that. However... Just to play devil's advocate, we never really got to see CA play the role he was brought on the squad to be, and that was playing a progressive midfield role, assisting upfront. Not playing CDM/holding midfield defensive minded. Never the less, i agree with the lot. Good Riddance Charles.

Can he not take Jay Spearing with him?

Surely the rumour of loaning Lukaku are not true?
Red sheep.

Is that the same rumour that you just made up? First I've heared of it.

Loan with an agreed price would be ok. Lukaku is an absolute monster!

You sure? Thought you'd heard it twice before..

People are now stating that as BA's clause had expired then Newcastle don't need another striker. I personally disagree as they play 4-4-2 sometimes sand really only have Ba and Cisse to rely on. They're in Europa and need a bigger squad, do Carroll will still be on their radar.

A loan with a view to buy, back to Newcastle is embarrassing but in all likelihood it could happen. I suppose if the deal is £2 mil upfront and then £17 mil in 12 months plus his full £4 mil wages then it's not the end of the world.

Another option I see is a permanant deal for £10 - £12 mil and Collocini. Now I'm bracing myself for some stick, but if Skrtel/Agger were to leave then it may be a smart move. He's a great ball playing centre half. Newcastle had a very good defensive record due to him and Krul mainly and a little like Lucas he joined, didn't settle well and got a torrent of abuse. He stuck it out proved his worth and now he's adapted to the EPL.

I rate Amborietta, he's a quality player who really is comfortable on the ball. He probably suit the EPL and is the right age. However he could do what many centre backs have done, such as Skrtel, Vidic and Collocini and take quite a while to settle in. As its a crucial position, that I see someone coming in as a first choice then it's a big decision. Carra can ease the development period, but not against anyone with pace. The same can be said for Coates, who I'm a little concerned about if I'm honest.

We'll see what happens, but as long as Agger doesn't leave I'll be relaxed enough. If he does our defence could suffer greatly this season.

Papa G

We have been burnt badly with 'loan to buy' deals with Aquilani. Are we really going to do it again?

Colo to Liverpool and 10 to 12 mil? What rubish. Colo is worth 10 mil alone, which means by your valuation Newcastle will sell their captain and give you 12 mil a total of 22 mil... LOL
... what a clown.

Toonal {Ed049's Note - And how old is Collocini you fool?}

We have been burnt badly with 'loan to buy' deals with Aquilani. Are we really going to do it again?

We have been burnt badly with 'loan to buy' deals with Aquilani. Are we really going to do it again?

Haven't seen much of Amborietta but agree that Coloccini's a quality cente back. My only concern would be his age - he must be what, 30? 31?

If we do sell Andy I'd rather we push for as close to 20 million as possible and move on, although I'd still like to see him stay for another season at least. Does look like he's gone though.

I get your point but disagree a bit. I like Skrtel and think we could miss him more than Agger. I feel he is more commited in the game and more of a threat at freekicks/corners than Agger. We need that and may miss it with carra on the slide. I also think agger is a bit fragile in terms of injury. I would let Agger go and buy a slightly older CB in the hope that Coates or Wilson develop. Colocinni would do as long as he gets a hair cut.

That is a load of s***

Problem is you are looking at the carroll situation from a whats best for liverpool point of view. look from newcastle and carrolls point of view, liverpool have made another boo boo by publicly stating they do not want him at the club.
carroll and newcastle hold all the aces now, he can sit in the reserves and pick up his wages for years, the toon can offer what they want to pay knowing carroll only wants to go back there so is immaterial what other teams bid because he will; just say no. the longer the transfer goes on the less his transfer fee will be. so liverpool are over a barrel of there own making.

Toonal {Ed049's Note - And how old is Collocini you fool?}

He is 30 not that old by modern standards for a CB look at Puyol or Maldini who did not retire until he was 40 on average my opinion is thats CB's start to decline 34 onwards.

Jonty

Since this is the Liverpool page you dimwit of course we're looking at what's best for Liverpool! If you're a Geordie of course you think you're going to get a cut price deal but as other posters say loan deals have buggered us before so forget it.As for Collocini well I respectfully disagree about how good he is,I don't rate him highly,and he's 32 years old.For me no deal!

@ Jonty
In all honesty how many top class central defenders do you see over the age of 32? Carra is not as commanding as he once was, Terry is almost finished, Snoop is finished and has become a full-time tweeter.

How much longer will Coloccini really go on, and is certainly worth no more than 10million. No doubt Newcastle will try to impose their selling price which is usually treble the real value.

I'm not a geordie or a toon fan. just pointing out that what you want and what you get are very different things[hows aqualani doing]if a dimwit can see that how thick must you be.

You will have to pay at least 20mill for colocini one of the best centre backs in the premier

For those who don't rate Colocini ,he was in nearly every pundits team of the season.

And he's 32 years old.For me no deal!

Date of birth

22 January 1982 (age 30)

Do the math son before posting

The point you are missing with the whole Carro thing is Newcastle have no intention of giving away their best players for the very average Carrol. Heard Ba, Cisse and now Colo all plus money. Give your head a shake if you want rid of him you best except around the 15 million mark and thats if your lucky.

Ed how serious is our interest in Jack Butland? Would be a fantastic buy for the future in my opinion. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. Would he move to sit on the bench? Is Reina leaving?}

Or be loaned straight out to replace reina in 2 years?

Can we not buy and leave him where he is? Clubs must think that is a great option, they get the cash, we get him a bit cheaper because were leaving him there, he gains experience.

Scott Carson?

He could quite conceivably be sold and loaned out until such point as Reina does leave or his form tails off... He'd be a ready made replacement and save us an even bigger transfer fee in the future

Where is Reina? Is he back? {Ed049's Note - He was supposed to be back by 1st of August.}

We should sign him and loan him out back to birmingham. A bit like what Man city did with Joe Hart.

Sign him and loan him straight back to birmingham providing he starts at least 90% of their games

Told you all agea go renia will leave ,most probly go to ac MILAN

Havent posted for a while, but I am a regular on Lark Lane and drink in Aggers bar and speak to him when he's there. He was in on Monday night, told me he doesn't want to leave and would sign a new long term contract. Said he doesn't need 'Man City' wages, he's happy and is very impressed with Rodgers. Even got a free bottle and he said he hopes not to see me much next season cos he's only there when he gets injured :) had a good night....... Rooney.( not the blue nose manc 1 )

Hope you are right.. it seemed a genuine post but you never know now days. Agger is obviously a great player and i would love to keep him but if he wants to go let em!

I hope so.

I couldn't agree more. The team comes first. My heart wants to believe this post.

Hate to burst your bubble mate but agger hasnt owned the bar on lark lane for years

Is the Masonic still open on the Lane?

No the red nosed liar instead...

Just because he sells a bar...doesnt mean he still cant hang out there. you really think if daniel agger asks some little tosser behind the bar to get him a bottle of anything...he's going to get declined ?? c'mon!

What a load of tosh. Agger sold Tirano and Que Pasa moons ago. The latter is now called Bier for a start.
I was on the lane and in both on Monday and not a sniff.

What you drinking mate?

Scuzz

Yep! Scuzz is right, Agger sold that bar yonks ago! Been in that Bier place now, its awesome! Great Dortmander pint! But this is obviously nonsense this original post, as Agger never goes in Bier.... He must have sold that bar about 2 years ago!!

Is there an echo in here?
China Red

Is there an echo in here?

No, The Masonic was shut down years ago, probably about 15 years ago. It was a result of The Albert being forced to clean up its act. They were rammed with the dodgy druggie crowd and so shut down for about six months I think, and did a big refurb etc (The Albert that is). This prompted the nasties to move down the road and into the back room of The Masonic (where the pool table used to be). That was the beginning of the end from what I remember. (As an aside, since they started selling beer - they only have Efe's I think - many of those same old heads now also bother the Keiths crowd). Why they didn't just go in the Parkfield (their natural habitat) I don't know, although it could be that this was in the good old pre-Parkfield days. Then it was bought by the same people that have, I think, Korova in town. They tried to turn it a bit up-market, which basically just meant painting it black, stringing a bunch of fake chandeliers up, charging 3.50 for a bottle of Beck's, and banning trackies. It didn't work. Haven't been back in 18 months, so not sure what's happening with it now. But The Masonic is no more, which is a sad thing.

Norwich centre back Ryan Bennett is a £10m transfer target for Liverpool. Rodgers wanted to take Bennett to Swansea in January but Norwich outbid the welsh club for the former Peterborough centre half.

If true this is a worrying trend

Bennett is a talented player who learned his trade through the divisions. First time i saw him was inn 2007 Grimsby vs Chester. He was young and i thought that this player would end up in the premier league. Im not sure if he is worth 10 mill. But a good player.

Its obviously a load of bull. Why even bother ?

He is a good prospect, was Grimsby captain at 19, England youth international. He is not currently at the same level of Agger and Skrtel or even Coates but probably a better prospect than Wilson. As he has played for Peterborough and Norwich in the last year though I thought there were regulations against him laying for a third club in a 12 month period - Eds is this right?

Bob {Ed001's Note - there are, but that would only affect him playing for the first team, nothing to stop him playing for the stiffs or out on loan for 6 months.}

I live in grimsby and go to all the town games hes not worth 10 mill

Hi Eds, just came to mind do you reckon with Uruguay out of the Olympics that Gaston Ramirez will sign for his new club sometime soon

Thanks, Great site

Benjamin {Ed001's Note - I really don't know for sure, but I don't expect it to be us in talks with him. My bet would be City.}

And man city really need gaston ramirez it makes me laugh! Theyve got milner and johnson, two wide players that can't even get in the team, both of them sitting on the bench. Do they want everyone? Oh and i forgot about the potential signing of van persie aswell absolutely rediculous it is.

You'll lose ur bet :P

Ramirez has been distinctly average during the olympics, I wouldn't want him. We should go for Matt Jarvis instead

I'm hoping his performances in the Olympics will put a few of his suitors off. Liverpools gotta be an attractive club for him. Guaranteed first team football, Coates and Suarez, and a wages likely to be in excess of 60k

I thought Ramerez looked ok against GB. Cracking shot at the end and steady on the ball. He's still only 21. I'd love to see him at liverpool.

We are not interested in ramirez, end of.

Ramirez is very inexperienced, he showed that against GB with his awful tackling and short temper. Could come good but not the end of the world if he doesn't sign for us.

Hi editors and fell liverpool fans! buzzing about this latest news from my mate at Anfield. He has promised me this is legitimate transfer news.. apparently we are in talks with Sunderland for Stephane Sessingnon! nothing major yet it seems like an enquiry but may lead to something important. Will keep everyone posted! You will never walk alone!

Heard anything about this one eds? if we got him for the right price i think he could be a good signing {Ed049's Note - Not at the moment.}

I hope not.

Why would we want him?

People obviously havent seen him play. He is very strong and quick on the ball. And im sorry to say it but he pushed around the reds backline a bit last season. And comparing some of the rumours we have all been reading, i'll take sessengon...over an injured david villa anyday.

He is a fantastic player but they would screw us with the price.

Curious follow up to this EDS. Say for some unique reason we do put in a bid for him between 9 -14 milli ..... do you think that is good investment to the squad? Personally I think he is quality footballer, esp in a system that compliments his style of play. Him paired up with Borini..and then Stewart and Dempsey on the flanks.
Its not always who has the best players. Its who has the best combinations of players, correct ? {Ed049's Note - Yes he would be a good addition to our squad.}

Alberto Aquilani,Charlie Adam,Brad Jones,Nathan Eccleston and Dani Pacheco will leave Anfield once suitable offers arrive. Joe Allen will be Rodgers second signing after agreeing on a £13.5m fee with Swansea while a deal for Clint Dempsey is looking increasingly unlikely as Fulham are refusing to budge on their £9.5m valuation, FSG do not want to pay such a fee for a player who only has a year left on his contract and is nearing 30. Liverpool can hold out till January and pay maybe half that or hold out till next summer and sign him on a free transfer. FSG have agreed to fund a move for 21 year old Gaston Ramirez with Liverpool having tabled an offer of around £15m two days ago. With Uruguay now out of the Olympics discussions will be held with representatives of Bologna and Ramirez's agent Pablo Betancourt. Liverpool are also looking to bag a young man who could be Pepe Reina's successor in Jack Butland, Rodgers is hoping to land Butland for around £5m.West Ham are the only ones willing to pay close to the£20m Liverpool have asked for but Carroll is refusing to leave and I think this could all work out well as he will have a lot of fire in his belly looking to prove himself once the new season is under way, Craig Bellamy who would be a perfect fit for Brendan Rodgers system is rumoured to be on his way out but Bellamy is happy at Anfield and Rodgers has publicly stated he wants the 33-year old Welshman to stay so I can't see this one happening. Liverpool have rejected two offers of £13m and £16m from Manchester City for Daniel Agger, luckily for Liverpool fans Agger has openly expressed his desire to sign a new contract at Liverpool. The Reds will have lost Aurelio,Kuyt,Maxi,Aquilani,Pacheco,Jones,Eccleston and Adam by the end of the window thats 8 out and only 4 in Fabio Borini,Joe Allen,Jack Butland and Gaston Ramirez but with the return of Lucas and Joe Cole plus a number of rising youngsters Liverpool will look a much stronger outfit this season. Rodgers will play a 4-3-3 most games and we should have a lot of options GK-Reina,Butland,Doni CB-Skrtel,Agger,Coates,Carragher,Wisdom,Coady RB-Johnson,Kelly,Flanagan LB-Enrique,Robinson,Wilson CM-Gerrard,Lucas,Allen,Henderson,Spearing CAM-J.Cole,Shelvey,Suso RW-Ramirez,Sterling LW-Downing,Bellamy ST-Suarez,Borini,Carroll,Morgan I suspect the three in the middle will pressurise well and keep the ball while front three will be very flexible with Bellamy,Suarez,Ramirez and Borini able to occupy any three of the positions with ease Downing,Cole and Sterling would be comfortable on either wing and even though Andy Carroll can only really function in the centre role he offers Liverpool a different route towards goal. The premier league is going to be fascinating this year and if Liverpool complete these transfers that they are currently working on it will be the best shot they've had at re-entiring the top 4.

I think this could work. Champions league would be hard to make next season. Its best we try to win europa league to shut up some of the haters.

I really hope this does happen. Pretty much all of that is what most people want to happen

Thankz mate
hope what u have said happens
but i like to keep hold Adam tho
the rest i am okay with
personally i think we should keep Carroll he is going to be a monster next season where ever he may be with US or another team so i would prefer to have a monster on my team then face one

Well written

Bloody hell you talk some rubbish

Would be the ideal transfer market for us. Although I think its more of compiling the best news for a "feel good factor"

Nice post mate!

Dude...paragraphs man. My eyes are spinning reading your post!

Apparently we r keeping j.spearing and adam is let go...logic lacks here mate! your over optimistic prediction could really be something though...

mudux

Really like the sound of this one. The most positive article I have read for a long time

Interesting post. I think our stubborness on the Dempsey fee is a great sign, that we're not going to get raped by these clubs anymore. Personally not keen on the fella for the longterm so hopefully this will fall through. If we could pinch Ramirez from City (??) that would be a great signing. All in all I think it could be a good season with the possible outs and possible ins.

I think was a very well thought out post. thank you

I suppose we are all entitled to our opinions and that is what this post is, just one persons opinion.Bit of a wish list I suppose but I am surprised so many people want Pacheco out and Downing in.
CR

Didnt doni leave the other week?

Danny Wilson is a centre back not a left back

Oh my goodness you have put some thought into that post,i would love to think everything you said there comes to pass but to b honest i dont think it will,dont think we will sign ramirez dempsey will sign very soon me thinks,saurez i think will leave also the guy must b the most hated player in pl at the moment, haters just trying to get him to leave,having said that i think he is only looking for any excuse to go hope i totally wrong and ur totally right.

Great post mate ;)

I hope you are right. It will still leave us light as a squad though. I do not think any of the youngsters are ready yet to be relied on and think that Joe Cole is pants.

Pompey Red

Brendy, keep your 180 page dossier to yourself and John Henry rather than posting it on rumours boards!

Dont think we will be getting ramirez, i want him but i just dont see it for only 15 mil quid. spearing is 100% going to leave, he just isnt good enough

Wilson can play both centre back and left back like agger, so I hope he gets a few games this season. Our defence is stong, a great keeper, Lucas is good enough to hold the middlefield, and forwards, even with carrol are good enough to push for champions league, our problem is and what lacks us from the big boys in Europe is our quality on the wings, and when stevie G is out our attack in midd field. With out two quality attackers and a quality replacement for stevie, as we all know he won't play all our games them we will never get In to the top 4. that's all we need guys!!

This chap has been down the heads and heard this rubbish from one of the pans before it was flushed with him in it

So our striking power would rely on Suarez (whose had on e season) Carrol ( if we keep in and hope comes right).Borini and Morgan.

Best rumor (or analysis) that i really want it to be true

Would be lovely if all this happens.

Especially the Dempsey situation, I'm going to be so disappointed if we sign him for such a ridiculous fee.

Great post, would like to see this happen

Hi Eds,

Ive been watching team GB at the olympics and Bellamy has been the best player for the GB in every game, and im watching again tonight, now please tell me we arent letting him go, i reckon he has atleast 1 more top flight season in him.. {Ed001's Note - Bellamy wants to stay, but he also wants to play regular first team football. From what I am told, no deal has been done with anyone, Cardiff or otherwise, for him. I can't rule it out though, not fully, as it will depend on how Rodgers sees his role in the team. Bellamy is not looking to move on though, out of choice he will stay, this is the club he wants to be at. That was the situation as I was told before the Olympics started, I haven't heard anything new since, but I doubt anything will have changed as Bellamy will be concentrating on the tournament.}

Why is it Bellamy does so well everywhere he goes and with us he spends most fo the time on the bench or under suspicious injury cloud !! To top it off he creates a number of chances and has been on the goal scorers sheet when he has played.

I thought he can't play regular first team football due to to his knee problem. Supposedly he could only play every other game last season.

Rather have him than Downing bt I thought he wanted to go to Cardiff.He would play regularly there and be a star.
CR

I previously put a post on which was nOt aired ...and this is that borini played his first game v spurs n wore the No. 39 shirt is this not bellamy's number ??

Borini wore 29.

Bellemy loks good yes and has probably been the best over 23 person in the olympics. He's playing against yougsters though so he should look good. I hope he stays

{Ed002's Note - Just leave a note here and we will deal with it.}

Now that ramirez out of the Olympics, do the eds think we will hear about his future. Would love to see him at LFC. {Ed001's Note - yes, I am sure SSN will be running story after story on him over the next few days.}

01 Aug 2012 22:59:18
{Ed001's Note - it is the other centre half that is most likely to leave.}

I presume you mean Martin Skrtel Ed, and if so... Is it because he wants to leave? Or, the clubs interested are willing to pay enough for LFC to simply accept and take a handsome profit?

I hope he stays, but if one were to leave I'd much prefer it be Skrtel.. Final question Ed, if he does leave, will the club sought after a top replacement? Or, will Martin Kelly & Seb Coates be given opportunities to step up?

Sorry to barrage you here Ed001,

Stone YNWA. {Ed001's Note - I think it must be a bit of both, I mean that he is ready to go and we are ready to replace him. It seems that we are looking at a replacement, one that will cost less and suit the style of football we play much better. I am not sure if it is Amorebieta, certainly he is of interest, but he might be purely an option, rather than the first choice. We have certainly been in contact with Bilbao regarding him, and asked about other players too, just in case there are unhappy players with Bielsa leaving. It seems he is one they are willing to part with. But some people connected with Skrtel tell me he wants to move on, while he can get a big contract, others say he doesn't want to go and that we are looking to move him on while he is at a peak value.}

Yes, the perfect replacement would be Benatia from Udinese.. Remember ed002 mentioned him a while ago and i've always been an admirer..Very quick, ball playing CB, and his marking is superb .. Reads the game well..

What are the chances of linking Kjaer up with Agger if Skrtel were to leave?

I hope to god skrtel doesn't leave since I just got his name on the back of my new shirt

We really need another defender anyway I expect Skrtel to leave but I'd like to see two CB brought in after him. So far I've seen us linked to Kjaer, Amorebieta, Zapata and Sakho. Any two of those would do fine.

Ed what do you reckon the chances of getting Allen and Sinclair i reckon swansea would drive a hard bargian but they have looked great at the euros, however i dont reckon they can be considered a starting team option for a few years if we are challenging for top 4, neither can Dempsey! we have got to be aiming higher quality striker cavani falcoa hulk Dzecko higuain pato these are of a standard that will influnce our team and improve it rather than the same old average mid table players, i mean last year and with the current transfers how may super stars do we have in mid and strike 2 stevie and suarez when we came 2nd under benitez we had xabi stevie masherano torres, we need to build another team similar to that or we are going to become another villa/everton challenge for top 4 every once in a while but mainly finish 8th :-( {Ed001's Note - the chances are very good, not that I am keen on the idea of Sinclair, I really don't rate him at all. Dempsey is better than you think, I am sick of people putting him down that have clearly no idea of just how good he actually is.}

Ed I have been watching Dempsey since his Revs day, I just think he is a little to old, 4 years ago then yah but now I rather see Morgan Sterling and pacheco get a go over Dempsey. Just my opinion. I hope we get Allen and a winger. Skertel had 1 good season. I would love to see our youtu get some minutes.
Andrew

If he was called Fernando Dempsena and he comes from spain maybe people will rate him.

Kaizer

That was an agree to ed001

I went to few Swansea games last year ans Sinclair drifts in and out of the game too much. He can be very frustrating.

Totally agree with Ed001, Dempsey is a very good player, good movement, can read the game, can hold the ball, clever and could certainly play in Rodgers system 4-3-3. Brownie YNWA

Dempsey in my opinion is, an has been one of the top 15 premier league players over the past two seasons, those who say he's over-rated (rubbish), Please will u name 5 better scoring midfielders for me, because i cant think of too many.......

STEVE

RED4LIFE

Totally agree with the ED on this one. When we last played Fulham, who was the player you were most worried about?

Paul

I would prefer dempsey to pato..

Dempsey is underrated if a little old. Agree with the poster though. Unless liverpool start chasing and signing top quality players we are not going to be a top quality club. We are in real danger of falling into the same bracket as Everton and Villa. If we are being honest we are at best the 6th best team in England (and Newcastle and Everton might have something to say about that) and how are we behind teams like Spurs? Well let me tell you something, if they can afford to sign and pay players like they do and we can't (as often claimed) then there is a big hole in our finances somewhere as we have nearly double the turnover of Spurs FACT!

I gurantee youve only ever seen one of the players you mentioned play.

Hi eds is it likely that there will be scouts at the GB game looking at Allen and Ramirez

Thanks and great site {Ed001's Note - we have people there to watch our players anyway, so yes.}

Liverpool are rumoured to be after butland ramerz allen and studrige so we will see what happens.

Out of 4 players mentioned I'd hate to have sturridge. Wasted a lot of chances for GB because he was too selfish.

Hi eds loving the hard work you guys put in im just wondering if Liverpool are interested in waynama (sorry about the spelling) it looks like arsenal are interested and prob other clubs thanks.db {Ed001's Note - the Celtic lad? All I can get on him is coming from his agent, so I don't know how much truth there is in it. Certainly a lot of teams in the Prem have been looking at him, but that is the only certainty, whether they are just looking or not I can't find out for sure.}
