Eds, any legs on this Holmes rumour or do you think its just his agent talking him up? Know what position along the back line he plays?
CMD YNWA {Ed002's Note - He is a right back or right sided centre back. I don't know if the rumours are correct or not.}

Heard from a relative earlier today who works inside the club that Liverpool are working through a deal with Crewe for a 17 year old called Nick Powell but are facing heavy competition from Chelsea and Arsenal. There is also big interest in 20 year old non league midfielder Ryan Williams from Welsh side Rhyl who is also attracting attention from Swansea, Brighton and Ross County

I believe that LFC have watched Nick Powell and his team-mate Max Clayton for a considerable period of time now. Hope we can get this deal through.

I hadnt heard of either player before today, just done a bit of Internet research on them both. Powell is very highly regarded by Crewe but also the Enland set up. For such a young lad he has scored regularly in a physical League 2. The suprising one for me is the boy Williams from Rhyl as you wouldn't expect us to be looking at non league players. He has been getting rave reviews all season in the welsh league and is regarded as the best player in the league by fans on forums, he is considered. Very technically gifted attacking midfielder. It's interesting that Holmes of Tranmere who we have been linked with was playing in the Welsh league for TNS last season. I'm all for it, if Williams has something special like it suggests thenbring him in. I just hope we get some senior players in who will make an impact straight away and help us in the league

I'm a Ross County fan. Do you know how interested we are in this guy? I've never heard of him but it would be a coup I suppose with the other clubs that are linked with him.

I think nick powell is a good player and would not cost much much as crewe are in leauge 2.he could hardly be worst than henderson.
Shanio1

I have seen Rhyl play a couple of times this season. Williams is a good player; sees a pass early - and is probably the best player in the Huys-Grays Alliance ( one below Welsh Premier ) in his position.
I imagine it is for a trial - to see if he can step up.
Interesting though. Maybe buy andloan back?

Again as stated before I know Nick, was talking to him and he says he doesn't believe Crewe will sell him until not this summer next, especially if they can get into the promotion players, however he knows there is definite interest from 2 Premiership teams and a handful of Championship

Eds, what's your take on Gaston Ramirez? Apparently he's in talks with an English Club and he's been heavily linked with us for a while now. If he really is in talks with an English Club, everyone knows it's Liverpool FC. The question is, is he good enough? Haven't seen much of him to be honest, except youtube, of course.
Furqan. {Ed001's Note - it could very easily be City.}

Do u know it's city or just playing devils advocate? {Ed002's Note - Gaston Ramirez is not in any talks with any English club. That would be tapping up. As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. This all dates back to before the January window and if the club were that interested then he was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. At present, Napoli are very much favourites for his signature. Discussions have now taken place between Bologna and Napoli - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus. And Napoli are very much favourites for his signature at this time. His agent remains as talkative as ever but as of March 30 there has been no offer to Bologna for the player from any English club - and this has been confirmed by his club, and now his agent.}

Lads I know you all would like to see all these guys come but there is more chance of us signing pele and he would be better then some of the fools that are playing for the club and that's a fact {Ed002's Note - There is nothing to say that Liverpool will not make a move for Ramirez - but it is by no means certain and no English club have spoken to Bologna since January.}

My question still remains, is he good enough?
Furqan.

Liverpool have confirmed interest in G. Ramirez - he's a good enough player for liverpool with plenty of potential. I can see him in the attacking midst of midfield with lucas and gerrard sitting.

Commoli has seen him play numerous times, therefore liverpool stand obv' contenders to sign him / + he is uruguayan - which makes the deal even more likely since we have suarez, coates, and that agreement with the uruaguay club for their best academy players.

hey eds is mathias suarez likely to come to us?
taran {Ed002's Note - It is possible, but not I cannot say that he will "likely" make the move.}

Any news on Marco Bueno eds ?...He has recently turned 18 which means we can finally sign him up..he looks a serious player !

Big dawg {Ed002's Note - I am not even aware if he returned for the second trial. Maybe someone else knows.}

More chance of signing Maria Bueno
ARB

Pachuca wouldn't let him go on a second trial, they said to lfc buy him or not. no more trials. so its up to us, there hasn't been a bid in yet. will get sorted in the summer.

He had a successful trial but due to being just 17, he could not be signed. {Ed002's Note - He was due to return for a second trial.}

He had a successful trial but due to being just 17, he could not be signed. Liverpool could have the first option on Mexico's FIFA U-17 World Cup winning striker Marco Bueno. The Liverpool Echo reports the player spent 10 days training at Melwood in August and his Mexican club Pachuca says the Reds want to sign him next summer after his 18th birthday.
Pachuca's sports vice president Andres Fassi said, "We received a letter last week from Liverpool, who want the player to go there when he turns 18.
"Maybe Liverpool will then make an offer, but that would not be until he is 18 years old, when FIFA's laws allow."
The 17-year-old made his senior debut for Pachuca on Saturday, playing the final eight minutes of his team's 1-0 win over Jaguares.
Bueno appeared in seven of Mexico's eight games en route to the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup championship. He scored one goal at the tournament.
In August, ESPN reported Fasi said, "We have already practically closed negotiations with them [Liverpool]. They want to buy 100 percent of the rights."
The player has been nicknamed "The New Chicharito," in some circles because he has displayed the same knack for goals as Manchester United striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez. A better nickname would be simply, "Marco the Good."

I hope we will just get him i'm not sure but when rodwell or rooney were younger liverpool had them on trial and asked for a second one. then the player went for a trial at everton, who singed him on the spot. i not sure if it were one of them players but it has definitely happened.

One kid had a trial postponed due to illness. Perhaps it was this kid.

No that wasn't Bueno mate, that was some player dubbed 'the next Didier Drogba' if I remember rightly , Unfortunatley Manchester United handed him a trial and nothing has been said after that ever since

Abdul Aziz , that's the one who I Ment in my previous post

I'm pretty sure that he signed a pre-contract and is due to join any time now as he has just turned eighteen.

I don't know if it is a reliable site but there is a piece on Tribalfootball on 21st March stating that Richard Sanchez (Mexican u-17 goalkeeper) had been on trial with Chelsea and that he had been in touch with Bueno who said that he was very happy at Liverpool. This gives the impression that he has already arrived (if it is true)
Dutchmal

I read that a week ago LFC reps called Bueno's team up. it said that the president came out and said we are still interested and that they will sell him if we come cheque in hand. may wanna look it up if you don't believe me. just thought id share what i had read

Eds do you know if we have any interest in Alexander Kolarov? {Ed002's Note - None that I am aware of and it would be very surprising if their were.}

Get next season Yohan Mollo young frenchman for Liverpool. This is the best young winger I have seen in french league. Comolli please get this young frenchman for Liverppol. We believe you can get Mollo rather than Affelay

On loan from granada at nancy.

Hi eds i would like to talk to any of the eds about the manager position and what they think about what the owners are going to do. I have thougth about it for a while and i support kenny through it all but to me he's not the right man 20 years is a long time out of the game and the only manager i can think will be great for liverpool is the german international manager

1. very good tactician
2. can developed young talent to top players
3. the greatest thing about him is that it's about the club and players and not about him.
4. doing wonders with the german international team
would like to know your thougths on it (great site) {Ed002's Note - We have given plenty of commentary on this matter already but it is rather early to speculate. As for Low, I don't see him leaving the national side until after the World Cup.}

To be honest the german coach seems to be a bit too good for us. there is no way we can attract him.

The reason he can develop German talent is because the way their national system is set up from grass roots level, unless we implement that nation wide your point is irrelevant. Also Dalglish is not doing a bad job have patience

Can someone please explain what Commoli does all day. Rafa would get rid straight away. He must be on 200K a year? {Ed002's Note - He is the Director of Football and is in charge of the entire coaching organisation, negotiating contract renewals, negotiating transfers in and out of the club, liaison between the board and the coaching team - and Rafa would not have been in a position to sack him.}

I dont think Joachim Loew would be interested even if we were an attractive proposition, from what I've heard he is a quiet and fairly reserved guy. He gets well protected by german fa from media, he wouldnt get that here.

When will barca look to replace abidal whos getting on abit and do you think it likely they'll come for enrique? {Ed002's Note - No, they have a replacement lined up in Alba already.}

Imagine Barca's team with Alba in for Abidal and Martinez in for Busquests

Scary thought! And wouldnt be surprised if it happened either!

Gav

Enrique is simply not a good enough footballer to play for Barcelona. He is a good defender, his positional play is good, but in tight situations, he is not especially skilled. Can't see Barcelona going for him.

Hey Eds, is there any chance that Liverpool will sign Llorente this summer? Ive watched him a good few times this season and he seems like a real goalscorer who would do well in the Prem, just what we need. {Ed001's Note - not really.}

Unfortunately I think we're going to have to set our sights a lot lower than Llorente this summer.

Why dont you take a good look at our recent results, our position in the league table and our current squad of players. Then ask yourself that question again and you might find the answer

{Ed022's note - brand new player profile on Giuseppi Rossi of Villarreal CF, linked with Liverpool in recent times according to gool ol' Ed001. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

Did Ed001 say that? {Ed001's Note - yes I did, though we are only keeping an eye on his recovery from injury, might mean nothing. Especially as he is likely to be available for a lot less than people expected, due to the injury and Villareal's need to get him off the wage bill.}

I would prefer get yohan mollo for lfc. Very quality young french. I believe he can adapt in liverpool. Please take this guy comolli

After his comments about his time in england previously do you think he could be lured back to EPL ed?

Not so sure myself, I think he will end up back in italy, there are plenty of takers there.

Nevada {Ed001's Note - he will go where is best for his career and wallet, I am sure of that, whether it be England, France or Italy.}

hey eds , is there any notable interest in Burak Yilmaz because he looks like a really good target man though he may take a while to adjust to English football.......RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - Burak Yilmaz has attracted interest from Sevilla, Beyer Leverkusen and Newcastle.}

02 Apr 2012 14:35:19
who would you say we (liverpool) are most likely to sign in the summer out of luuk de jong, lewandowski and abel hernandez? i know its hard to say at this time but just in you opinion or if you was to have a guess. thanks. {Ed002's Note - De Jong.}

02 Apr 2012 14:28:08
hey eds , is liverpool interested in Milan Badelj?if yes how serious?.....RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - I have said on a number of occasions that Liverpool have taken a lookj at the player. I know of no "seriousness" scale on which their interest can be measured.}

Lets keep it real......

The reality, like it or not, is that a number of players in the first 11 and in the squad in general have not been good enough this year.....

Forget what they cost, lets just focus on their ability and what has/has not been delivered: -

Carroll. On a good day a real handful and has shown glimpses of ability, but bottom line is that he has not scored enough goals and the team, in my opinion, doesn't play to his strengths. But do his strengths match the expected playing style of LFC, i.e. pass and move? I don't think so. Big Andy is not mobile enough nor does he have any kind of trickery seen with other big physical strikers. For me, he doesn't have what Adebayor, Dzeko, Fernando Lorrenti show, i.e. quick feet and a consistent eye for goal.

So, the question is, given his relatively young age do we stick and try to make him a player he isn't today or do we change our footballing style and be more one directional with pacey wingers who can cross?

I would hope we stick with our playing style and move him on if he cannot fit in that...But I fear that the financial side of the argument will mean he stays and we try and figure out a way of getting the best from him. Despite wanting nothing more than Andy to be a success at LFC, I fear and question what can change. I just don't see this working.

Henderson. Played regularly out of position and he does badly which clearly impacts his confidence. When the perfect opportunity arises to play him centrally, he is left on the bench. I really don't understand these decisions for a player, who when watched at England U21 level in central midfield, excels. Either believe in him and play him in the position he made his own previously, or move him on.

Jay Spearing. LFC through and through, lots of grit and determination, but does he really have the quality? I don't see it and would he really get into any of the top 6 sides? Not in my opinion. When he plays at his best he survives the task of playing in a liverpool team, but when he doesn't his lack of quality reveals itself and has resulted in defeats.

Downing. Bought as finished article and has flattered to deceive. Rarely performed and the fact that he has not scored a premiership goal all season sums it up. Will not improve in ability or in value. Enough said. Should never have been purchased in the first place. Of all the players we bought last year, he was the one I was most worried about because I could not see his quality. Too often shirks the tackle and rarely goes past people. Sadly, I think my fears are proven.

Adam. Lovely left foot but seems to have got out of his depth at LFC. Squad player, yes perhaps. Starting 11, hasn't shown it this season. Not remotely close to the likes of Alonso etc who move the ball about quickly and precisely, keeping the ball flowing. Far too often caught on the ball and giving crucial free kicks away in the process.

Carra. Legend and always will be for his never say die attitude and love of the club. But time waits for no man and he has clearly lost the ability to hold down a position. We have sadly missed Agger this year when injured, when in previous years the miss was not quite as obvious. I fail to understand why Coates would not be given every game from now on while Agger is injured. Playing Carra proves nothing and I hope he is encouraged to move into a coaching role at LFC.

Kenny. Adore this man and cannot think of anyone else who has shown more love or dedication to LFC. But is he really the man who can take this club significantly forward? Lets not fool ourselves, significant progress is required, a fortunate win against Cardiff resulting in a cup win does not alter the fact that despite playing fair football on occasions this year, we have not scored enough goals, won enough games and been competitive enough this year. While the last 4 weeks have been nothing short of incredible. Not enough for LFC, in my humble opinion. Perhaps 'not enough for LFC' is bordering on arrogance or perhaps it is a realistic expectation given the global size of this club and the foundations of success that it has been built on......

Take the emotion out of this and think about the real issues. Let the debate begin....

ConnorsLFC

Couldn't have put it better myself. Kenny should have only been used to stable the ship as such, as he did last season, however he has now began to sink the ship again, which defeats the whole point in his role in the first place. We got rid of Aquaman(on loan), Joe Cole(ok player) and Merieles, and replaced them with average players. Our own faults.

Fair enough points , maybe next season will see improvments from these players , if they stay , most of us knew way back in sep/nov we were short on the striker front , we really need a 20-30 goal a seson finsher , plus we need one of the younger players who play as a striker always ready to come into the first team squad if needed , in my opinion we really do need to fast track suso streling co into the first team now to prepare them for next seson , theres no reson why they could not play say 20 odd games next season , its right not to overplay them , but wrong to think you cant play young playersat all in games , just dont overplay them like owen etc...............lfc

Andy Carroll & Jordan Henderson, Give him time he will come good.
Rest are not good buys, at best squad players.
Need to strengthen the side badly, or we would suffer even more.
Kenny's philosophy is good, but is he the right man for the job? No.. Get someone more astute tactically & can dare to change anytime if the team isn't performing..

We already knew the replacements were average players. Because they were on lower wages than their predecessors.
Thats why NESV made a slight spend on transfer fees.
And thats also why we are struggling.

PS anyone notice Chris bascombe(journo) said there aint a cat in hell's chance of NESV ever appointing the Great Rafa.

Scared Rafa might have something to say about their support/lack of it?

I agree with everything this guy has said we all neew to realise that kenny isnt gonna take us to the next level which is champions league or the title. Some liverpool fans need to get real king kenny will always be a legend but he is gonna damage his reputation by dragging us further down! step aside kenny

Well said ! respect to KK but bring in mourihno

I reckon that Carroll and Henderson will come good. I don't think Adam will though.

Sell gerrard as well while you are at it as he was past it in 2006

I say we cut off our losses on caroll and send him back to newcastle in a player/money exchange with ba...he is a good player put will never fit in our playing system...baffeling why we even got him when we (i suppose) knew what kind of system we want to play!

I (along with some other fans) was criticised by some of the eds and fans here on this page for questioning the quality and ability of our summer signings. now it seems more and more people including the eds have come to the understanding that something has not gone right in the last 10 months. better late than never. it really hurts to see our favourite club, the king of Europe being rediculed by newcastle/wigan fans. Kenny is not bigger than the club. {Ed001's Note - no, I criticised people for not giving them a chance to prove you wrong. It seems far too many people just wanted to be able to say they were right, rather than supporting the team and hoping to be wrong.}

A great post and a lot of good points. remember 3 yrs ago Lucas was woeful and now he is supposedly one of the reason why we r strggling.
I think if we the fas get of Hendersons back he will become a grea player for both Liverpool and England and think he will be a natural succesor for Gerrard.
As for BIG Andy we never play to is strength he needs to b given the ball about 25 yards out and allowed to turn and run at the defence.
Also feel Adam is a deent squad player and feel given time Downing is a good addition to the team.The sguad still needs a lot of improving in the oming months but dont want Mourniho any were near r club.
What about MOYES
Lurgan Red

Moyes are you serious! no where near the grade required. kenny has to go but we need a proven manager not someone who has lacked ambition at a club that lacks ambition!

If we did replace kk with mourinho i would be dissapointed, even if he is a good manager. i think paul lambert would be a good shout.

In total agreement with every word written. Heart says we are going in the right direction but reality suggests diffrently. A big worry is will the owners be strong
enough to make A change and back the new manager ( with another 3 year plan that have heard for the past 15 years) with quality players that we crave!

All of you need to go support chelsea if you want instant success.

Instant success? We haven't been in the champions league for 3 years , im happy with a trophy but we all know what most fans crave , come on man

What is Commoli doing on a daily basis. Joke. even i could have spotted Bale!

Dalglish's tactics worked 20 odd years ago , but not these days , get a new younger man in before the damage is irreparable

Frank Rijkaard to replace Kenny as manager with Carragher and Clarke as assistants. Keep Kenny in the important role of in and around the Academy, he's always been great with younger players and his passion is good to have around the club.

Hi - Great piece.
My feelings are as follows:-

Before I talk about individuals I think it's important to recognise that Carroll and Henderson (I believe?) came through the ranks at their previous clubs so the surroundings and team play/methods etc came natural to them at their old clubs. I feel they will need time and opportunities - just as Lucas did.

Now to the individuals:-

Carroll - I would stick with him. He was great last season and we should look to get that level out of him. I wouldn't look to play him every week - mainly against teams with 11 men behing the ball - but when played I would make him the main man up front. May be he needs to feel like the main man (or just needed) as so many strikers do.

Henderson - Totally agree. Personally I would always aim to bed new talent into a club by playing them where they feel most comfortable. Certainly wouldn't move him on though - just play him in the middle.

Spearing - I like his spirit and I feel he's earned his place in the team purley because others can be soft at times. Technical ability is not going to worry many teams but he's clearly in the time to battle for the ball - but I don't see him as being a rock like Hamann or example.

Downing - The only defence I can find for Downing is that he may need time to settle and earn that 'I feel important here' feeling that he surely benefitted from at his previous clubs. Similar situation to Keane (spelling?) - good players but suffering from having to earn their 'mantle' all over gain.

Adam - Much like Hendo I think we're not using him to his strength. Yes, we're playing him in the middle but at other clubs he enjoyed the freedom that Stevie G has. Perhaps, like Downing & Carroll, he's also suffering from having to earn that 'needed' feeling that came automaticall at other clubs.

Carra - All hail Carra but sadly, just as with Hyppia, lack of speed and mobility can prove costly. Still think he's the best to play alongside youngsters though.

Kenny - I've always wanted Kenny back as manager but when he came back my first fear was potential damage to his rep. To us I'm sure he'll always be King Kenny but the vulchers out there will overlook factors mentioned above.
Also, were the sigings his, Comollies or bit of both?
Personally, I'd give him the chance (and support/backing) to prove the vulchers exactly why he is the King.
I'm more worried about Gerrard ushering Kenny off at Newcastle. If Kenny's losing Gerrards confidence then - well, let's hope that's not the case.

Cheers - Dave

Bring rafa back is bulls**t he won 4 trophies in 6 years only new European footy don't get me wrong I liked rafa but I dont think it would help anyone bringing him back. kenny won 10 in the same time. I say we stick with kenny he's the man. All the wools need to stop saying move on you will all be singing dalglish next saturday!! It's stupid give him money in the summer 80 million to refurbish an don't let teams rip us off this always seems to be the case! Just say no and look elsewhere. Centreback, centremid, right-winger,striker 20mil each. Come on the reds and Kingkenny

Its been a frustrating season!

In Cardiff we were lucky! However we did get to the final.

Caroll and henderson should be given time. We do not play to the strengths of either of these players and the reason is we lack another striker and have no width.

Daglish will get it right if De jong comes in next season and we get a winger like hoilett we will see massive improvement.

In addition a new CB and midfielder like the french lad yann Mvilla and new Rb Clyne from crystal palace we would be a force again watch this space.

We should play Henderson in Gerrards place and put Gerrard on the right

Like the post - would add this.

Liverpool seem too one-dimensional and I think this is the root of the problem.

Carroll does one thing, stay on the CD's. Downing does one thing, cross. Spearing does one thing, cover. Suarez turns defenders inside out but is a poor finisher. Basicaly you can predict what LFC will do as soon as the ball is in Reina's hands.

We need better passing and finishing (miss Maxi, Meireless) and that means some of the above personnel can't play together at the same time.

Need to take an honest look at Stevie G - 10 league starts this season;
Won 1 Drew 4 Lost 5
KK's LFC have been much better without him.

Through the Storm

Great post. Couldn't have said it better. We shouldn't fool ourselves. This season has gone from mediocre to a disaster. The carling cup is nice but it must not blur our view. This club shouldn't be 8th in the PL.

RIGHT........... THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.......

The football I have watched this season is the best i've seen them play in the last 5 or 6 years or even further back than that........and i've supported Liverpool over 30yrs. We lack the killer instinct to kill off teams. Suarez was bought to play alongside Torres until he dropped his bombshell. Comolli came out and said that Carroll was a summer target of around 10-15million, until Torres decided to go, then Newcastle held us to ransom. We need an out and out forward who scores plenty of goals.... like a Falcao or Huntelaar. Suarez scored goals for fun in the Dutch league, so did Kuyt..... this is the Premiership....bit tougher, bit faster. Certain players we have bought this season are squad players. Downing, Adam for sure, Bellamy even tho he has been a revelation still a squad player. Henderson is a future buy, i'd say the same about Carroll, but his reaction sunday could lead to being sold. Enrique is good, but sometimes lacks defensively.... BUT how we play on our day suits him, because we have the opposition on the back foot. Carra is now a squad player, i won't have anyone doubt or call his commitment to Liverpool. So called fans slated him after sunday, but where was the Captain?? Gerrard wears the band, but Carra is the captain, the voice on the pitch. Dalglish, Clarke and Keen have put something in place on our style of football. We are having a bad spell, it happens, this season i have seen a lot of inconsistent Referees........ BUT what can we do..... we won't appeal or complain. Dalglish learnt that lesson after the Stoke away game. He complained then had 2 sent off at Spurs.....nothing went our way. Spearing at Fulham..... great tackle.... off..... from what ive seen this season(not blinkered) we have had a raw deal with Referees, and i put that down to our history of being a big club...... but we are in transition and getting better.... as i have mentioned to people in the past.... UNITED have too much power and influence on our league(in Europe it shows, no English Referees.)....... COME ON.... is the current United side better than ours?? NO..... but they sit pretty at the top, down to the lack of bottle of the REFS. TIDES WILL TURN...... but at the moment we are getting raw deals and because of the LIVERPOOL name and what it stands for, its easy and people of the press take great pleasure in knocking us back. They don't even watch games, just see the result and there is their headline.

Good points. Well made. Its hard not to let too much emotion cloud your judgement.
Spot on about Spearing. Spot on about Downing.
After reading the replies, I notice the "big Andy needs time" shouts.
for me, better players than him (although still not of the calibre of player we require) have had little or no chance and been shown the door.
He didn't wana come here.
He doesn't work hard enough in training.
he has no desire or hunger for this club.
He is the worst player, by far, we've ever signed (his price tag outweighs any gone before)

I believe that liverpool needs a more tactical assistant manager. KK is good for the players' morale but he has failed to match the tactics of most of our opponents this season. KK needs a clear headed assistant that can help him tactically.

We turn up and the opposition know how we're going to play, Kenny's main problem is he doesn't change things around.

I personally would love to have Rafa back but i wouldn't want Kenny to be sacked, i'd rather him step down himself in the summer to a form of staff role.

Also Adam being out for pretty much the rest of the season is fairly good news ;)

other than m.philips, are there any wingers we are interested? {Ed002's Note - As I said it is very early, only the beginning of April. Much will also depend on what happens at the end of the season.}

Not a rumour but a gut feel. Didier Deschamp will be LFC next Mgr this summer. Hence we might see influx of french players (watch out for Giroud)
Wales {Ed002's Note - Giroud is an interesting thought. I would certainly not be surprised if Liverpool took a look at him, but Montpellier are most likely to get Champions League football and it will make it tough for him to move to a club playing in the Europa League. It was expected that Giroud would stay within France with a move to PSG but performances this season have seen Lyon, Marseille, Valencia, Newcastle, Villarreal, Arsenal and particularly Malaga show an interest. At one point Nicollin discussed the interest in the player saying Newcastle were too minor a club and Arsenal would have to pay 50M euros, if not 60M euros for the player. The reality is that he will move for perhaps 20M euros or so in the summer as it will be tough for Montpellier to persuade him to stay. Interest at the moment is still being shown by Arsenal and Bayern Munich have made an approach to Montpellier. The player declared an interest in a move to Italy but much will depend on the price - I don't see Marseille being able to pay enough, nor perhaps Lyon. However, it does remain possible that Liverpool may become interested but at present I understand they are not.}

If Kenny did go, then LFC should look no further then either Louis Van Gaal, Frank Rijkaard or Rafael Benitez. LFC must get back to winning games. This cannot continue.

Why do people want Deschamps? he has never proved himself to be a top-class manager.

I hope we don't get Deschamps. He's french for god sake!

Just seen on Sky Sports that Clint Dempseys contract is up in the summer. Is this true and would we be interested. His ability and versatility would be great for us.

Cheers

CSE {Ed002's Note - I don't think Dempsey's contract is up this year.}

I also tend to agree with ed, I don't think it is up?, also I understand he wants to stay in london!

He would be an excellent buy but at what price. He seems well settled in Fulham though. Money talks and we are American owned but....................!

Lfc looking at henriksen,van persie and seling joe cole for hazard.who do you think lfc will sign ed please say their name {Ed002's Note - It is really rather to early to say who I think Liverpool will sign. There has been much previous discussion about the likes of Luuk De Jong, and Mathais Suarez who have been looked at as a possible striker. Phillips was seemingly of interest as a winger, but I am afraid that Hazard will not be arriving. I have also postulated that if Suarez leaves then Gaston Ramirez might be an option. Corgnet, Isla and Badelj have been watched amongst others but much will depend on what happens to the management team and it is only April.}

Other than de jong & m. suarez, are there any other strikers we are interested? seems we will face harsh competition signing them {Ed002's Note - As I said it is very early.}

Do you seriously think Van Persie would consider joining Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - I don't see he will be asked the question.}

And after van persie and hazard we will get aguero, silva, and some bloke who's first name is apparently lionel

Hi ed, I am never a type of fan to say I want a manager out but if kenny did go, I would love Liverpool to possible get klopp. Do you think he would be an realistic target? and would we have a chance of getting him ? {Ed002's Note - I really don't think he would be.}

I have it on very good authority that Liverpool's next manager will be a German with Joachim Löw, Jürgen Klopp and Bernd Schuster are all contender. Besides ex Liverpool players Marcus Babel and Sami Hyypiä are coming back in important coaching roles. Eds, any thought on this inside news? {Ed002's Note - Aside from it being nonsense? No.}

What a load of rubbish, Forgot it was the School holidays.

Brilliant reply eds...I hope we get either of the managers mentioned in the post but it might not be possible for us to get any of them. But a rubbish post nonetheless as Hyypia has got a coaching role at Bayer Leverkusen so talk of him coming to us is not true..

Morning Eds, Is this Lakov Tekaz rumour a fake? If not, being that he is from a semi-professional club, surely a work permit will be near impossible, and secondly, as he commands a fee, surely this deal would not be possible to complete until the summer?

Could you shed any light please? Have a good day all

Cheers

Jamie {Ed002's Note - It was an April Fools Day prank Jamie.}

I feel ashamed of myself!! LOL - Cheers

Jamie {Ed002's Note - No problems Jamie - have a great day.}

Ed if kenny goes do you think we would have any chance of getting bielsa? i have watched a lot of athletic this season and they play some amazing football {Ed002's Note - I think it may be very unlikely.}

Have they won anything?

Nope they're just flavour of the month, theyre doing average in la liga, 7th I think

Bilbao may be flavour of the month but Marcelo Bielsa is not. Did you not see his Chile side at the Copa Americas? A talented manager and one i would love to see at Liverpool.

If Kenny is to step down at the end of the season, how about promoting Rodolfo Borrell ? done very well with the youth setup, promoting Guardiola from the youth teams worked for Barcelona, Borell is a La masia man in his core too.

Daniel Rogers.

They'd go for someone with experience

We use to promote back in the days when we were one of the biggest team in the world shankly then paisley and etc

Serbian football international player, member of Juventus Turin Miloš Krasić, could continue his career in Liverpool! As quoted by Italian media, Juventus officials are seriously considering the engagement of the Uruguayan national team player Luis Suarez, who wears jersey with the Anfield club.Eds?Serbian red {Ed002's Note - I have heard it proposed that Krasic may be offered to Liverpool as part of a deal for Suarez. Juventus will be open to good offers for Krasic but it is unclear if the likes of Manchester City, Malaga and Roma are still interested in a player who has not taken well to sitting on the sidelines. Krasic has declared his interest in Manchester United and it is not out of the question that they may be interested in him. There is at least one very influential person at Chelsea who very much likes the player and wishes to revisit earlier interest. Borussia Dortmund, Zenit St Petersburg, Fenerbahce and Anzhi Makhachkala are also interested and a bid will be certainly made by Bayern Munich. Juventus have made it clear he has no future at the club and have hawked him around a little and Joksimovic has been trying to get Lazio, Liverpool and Spurs interested in the player. They were looking for a fee of around 14M euros and it was thought Lazio or Zenit may be able to strike some sort of permanent deal which is far preferable to a loan for Juventus. Juventus are also aware that two other clubs are showing serious interest in Suarez so there may well be something to this.}

Thank you very much.Personally I dont think Krasic is good enough for us.Serbian red

Hi ya ed002 thanks for the information regarding Suarez and Krasic, just wondering if you know who the other two clubs are that are interested in Suarez besides Juve.

I'm guessing Palermo and PSG ? {Ed002's Note - Correct.}

Eds can managers transfered from one club to other as players are transfered by paying money? Is lakov takaz eligible to play in remainig fixturs? An player signed outside transfer window can play for lfc or not?
AN INDIAN RED {Ed002's Note - Transferred no. They have contracts with a club but they are not registered at all. You can buy off a contract if all parties agree. Regarding the Serbian, I rather think we will not see him much until next Spring - perhaps in about a year's time.}

Oh dear Lakov Takaz? haha you shouldnt have put the username

Manuel Pellegrini should be the manager we should go for, unlucky kenny ok you have won a throphy and could win another but liverpool need to get back to there best before it gets even worse, its going to cost money alot maybe 100m more getting rid of kuyt carroll maxi adams and buy some players that have the skill and brains, Manuel Pellegrini is a safe solid and attacking manager.

Manuel Pellegrini ? are u crazy he is in Malaga now .

02 Apr 2012 00:52:38
Heard a few sqeeks that kenny had a huge bust up with 2 senior players after the match when he questioned their passion for the club. I know one must be Gerrard, could only guess the second one as kuyt, carra or reina, all is not well and the club needs invigorating!
Personally would love rafa back as I was and am a huge admirer of his, but I know it won't happen, past is the past and the structure of the club would not suit him.
Hate to see kenny getting stick the players are not giving him their all, shameful. Would love to win the fa cup for him and let him go out on a high.

Could have been any seniors by the way they played recently. Even Reina got himself sent off! What more can you say about their morale now. Team spirit is just not there any more. Some would say give Kenny more time. I do not think Kenny is the man to bring us forward. He will always be a legend even if he graciously step down now or at the end of the season. I have never seen the team in such disarray with headless chickens and duracell bunnies running around in the field.

Well, a few actions on the field certainly showed that there is a very bad mood in the dressing mood. Seems as Kenny has lost his respect among few of the players. Its disgraceful but who can blame them, managers are always top of the target list. :(

Well if we dont win the fa cup and after watching the last few games i think its going to be a hard one to win they are on fire kk will walk

Spot on with Dirk mate, he got singled out after the Arsenal game, but I'd put my money on the other being Pepe. He's pretty outspoken and doesn't rate Carragher at all and thinks accomodating him has a detrimental affect on the way the team play as he drags the whole line back and we have to defend a lot deeper. I'd be suprised if either were here next season as you can't upset the boss's mate

"I know one must be Gerrard"......... the original poster made this claim but I would like to know if he can substantiate it or if he has just plucked a random name out of thin air.

It's similar to the guy who posted reply no.4. Does he know Pepe that well and discussed the matter with him or is he just mischief making?

I know that things are not good atm and if the manager was anybody other than KK there would be a witch-hunt among supporters to remove him. However, I have always been under the impression that LFC fans always supported their managers esp. during the tougher, darker days. Mistakes have been made throughout the season and Lucas def. should have been replaced, but everyone welcomed KK back with open arms and he deserves a little bit of leeway now when he needs it most.

Adam S Apple

Adam I don't get any pleasure out of watching my team turn into a limo wreck but the item I posted about Pepe is true and I kept it brief so not to land someone in the sh*t but as Jimmy Cricket used to say and there's more...

Lmao, how can you say the structure of the club would not suit him right now??

You do know that Rafa wanted to sign Silva, Alves and Villa in his second last year as manager when we were in the champs league yet our owners at the time were total faggots and didnt give him money. Roll in the new owners and had Rafa been given the 100M. We defo would have seen some quality players who have potential and not people who are over inflated!!. Im sure people like Luuk De Jong would be here before the season even started because Rafa was knows that it isnt about expensive signings, its about turning "nobody's" of soccer into "somebody's" as he did with Alonso, Arbeloa, Lucas(because he saw the potential in him)Luis Garcia and best of the lot was his willingness to step ahead of the pack to sign Torres at the time before say Chels**t, Mans**tter Utd or anyother big club got him.

Kenny has never been in management for 20 years!!. Thats like saying that Messi should have started his career at 40 years of age or that. He is both tactically poor and does not do much to rally his team. Playing 6 defenders is ludicrous. That is a tactic which shows that a team is mentally weak and the manager is the world's biggest coward!!. Again, not lining up offensively is another thing, moreover at home!!. I remember once when Rafa played a 3-5-2 with Torres and Kuyt upfront and Gerrard behind them with Alonso and Mascherano as holding mids and three CB of Skrtel Carra and Agger. We won that game 3-1 i reckon. I have never seen Kenny put up an attacking formation. Another thing is that he doesnt give players a good run of games. Carroll needs to start EVERY game. Why do u think Torres has just recovered abit of form of late??. because the manager had faith in him and kept sticking for him and he kept learning from his mistakes. I reckon he will be the difference between Chelsea and Spurs in the race for 4th while Kenny will be responsible for us finishing in the bottom half of the table for the fist time in history...

"Kenny has never been in management for 20 years"......I can only assume that you don't wish to remember his title winning tenure at Blackburn or the time that he was Newcastle manager, or the time that he was involved with Celtic when making your statement.

Claiming that Rafa would have bought quality players with a £100m budget does not make it a fact. Look at some of the extremely poor signings that he did make on a regular basis. Look at the poor standard of football that we played on a regular basis and then finally look at how he decimated a successful, treble winning team in less than 6 months before you herald Rafa as some kind of saviour.

eds whats the chances for gussepi rossi or nilmar or valero from vilareal being snaped up with the club in a bad way financially and league wise the players are still top class on there day adamlfc {Ed002's Note - Giuseppe Rossi will leave Villareal in the summer and a move to Italy is most likely if he leaves Spain - with Napoli a very strong contender. Barcelona may be interested. Nilmar is likely to move to Galatasary, Roma, Fiorentina or Sao Paulo. At present Valero is not likely to move this summer - that could change.}

Valero is the one we need most we got dominated in midfield today strikers had no supply or terrible (even from gerrard) and we have no creative players to create in a tight game downing is our best bet now days(in mid) an the obvious creative suarez but not the most clinical carrol looked like the most likely to score out the 2 i hope we strengthen and not just pin it down to kenny 50/50 on the blame front. who would you say our "first" team are who would you pick if you had to make the decision? i have one in mind and though it would be obvious but as of yet haven't been started together adamlfc

In that case I hope napoli gets Rossi... I want ramirez. At least he will have a higher resale value when the club gets relegated in a couple of years time.

An i want Gareth bale but beggars cant be choosers people ent realistic on here i blame fifa.. whos going down in a couple of years? adamlfc

I was told Nilmar has his heart set on going home to Brazil, so I cant see him coming to liverpool. I'm sure I read a story regarding Rossi saying he did not enjoy his time in england as a youngster and so would not relish coming back here.
