Ed, is it true we had scouts watch Bafetimbi Gomis last week when he scored a hat trick? would he command a high fee in your opinion? {Ed002's Note - Bafetimbi Gomis did get three goals last week but I have no idea if Liverpool had scouts at the game. However if there have been scouts watching Lyon it may well have been a different player (Lopez) who has been attracting attention. We'll see.}

So Liverpool scouting Lisandro Lopez again Ed002?

The real AG {Ed002's Note - As I said, I have don't know if Liverpool had scouts at the game, but Lopez will likely move in January - and cheaply.}

You've mentioned Lisandro Lopez in this post, he's definitely a player who could slot in our formation and a decent record surprised nobody from Spain, England or Italy hasn't bought him before, do you think we could move in for him maybe {Ed002's Note - I suggested he might be an option in the summer. Lopez continues to attract interest from Juventus and AC Milan as a back up option, but at present Fiorentina and Valencia remain the most likely to push for a deal in January.}

Ed002 is lopez attracting interest from us? {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

So ed002 do you think it's likely that we'll go for Lopez? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - It would not surprise me at all.}

Or maybe Remy? Could that be possible ed? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle and Lille have shown varying degrees of interest in Loic Remy but there have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Remy from Liverpool or QPR who appear to be the latest club linked with the player. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to England but his recent form has been poor and Marseille know it will be difficult to get a good price for the player. There was discussion with Chelsea about Remy during the negotiations over Azpilicueta but it came to nothing. Newcastle will likely make a low offer for Remy in January.}

Any idea on what type of wage he'd ask for? Sure I remember hearing that a few years back he was the highest earning foreign player in France? {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing wages.}

29 Nov 2012 19:02:24
hey eds do you think sturridge would try hold us to ransom on his wage like he did when moving from city to chelsea? also I think i would prefer a good striker then all our funds put into getting Kaka. He doesnt feature as much anymore but he has always been a player about football not money. Last question, with milan needing to sell do you know of any interest in any of there players?

LFC Paddy {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing wages at all. If Liverpool make an offer and it is acceptable to Chelsea and the player then Chelsea will not stand in his way if he wants to move. Kaka will not be moving to Liverpool and Milan are indeed going to refresh some players in January and need to free up spaces in the squad. Certainly there is interest in some of their players, but none from Liverpool that I am aware.}

If Sturridge did hold us to ransom. Well he isn't worth it he is sh!t anyway

I heard Mr Alan Kinnear(one of the sons of the owners) gonna buy Ronaldo,that was his ambition

Is Max-Allain Gradel really being watched by Liverpool? Please tell me more about him eds.

Thanks.

Noski {Ed002's Note - Shakhtar Donetsk have approached St Etienne regarding the availability of Max Gradel but I do not know of interest from Liverpool at present. He previously played for Leeds I recall.}

Gradel had a good spell at leeds but nothing more, think the only game he had a decent game was against Arsenal. He's probably not worth it.

FowlerGod.

A lot of people seem to be against the idea of re-signing of Tom Ince, but i honestly wouldn't mind, he seems like a top player and it was a mistake letting him go. At £6M that seems like a bargain (seeing as though Zaha is apparently worth £20M). So what if we're RE-SIGNING him, Marco Reus left Borussia Dortmund as a youth player, Dortmund signed him back for...17 Million Euros, not doing too bad there.

AsianRed

I agree. The way I look at it, he would never have really got the opportunity to get this good if he was still at Liverpool. Wrong place, wrong time. And we have him back for £6m, then we've effectively paid £6m for him to become a top player in 18 months, under different styles of coaching. If we could pay £6m for Sterling to now all of a sudden play consistently to the ability of a top, top winger, then I'm sure the club would invest in that.

We won't sign him, when he was with us his father Paul, "The self styled Guvnor" went in like a bull in the china shop saying he should be paid a hell of a lot more money, and was politely told to "Do one ", that's why he was sold, allegedly !

The maid difference being Reus still loved Dortmund and had the right attitude to succeed at the highest levels. Ince and his Gaffer of a father can keep themselves as far away from my club as possible, thanks.

mozzilfc

Totally agree with this post. Ince is a quality player and crucially, he is a proper goal-scoring midfielder. They are like gold-dust; at least in our squad. We supposedly get a large chunk of the transfer fee so we will not end up paying an inflated fee. Personally I think his leaving shows confidence in his own ability and unlike many who have left Liverpool; he has actually proved his potential. I could see him getting plenty of game time in our current squad.

Why let a player leave for nothing and buy him back for 6m?

The difference between us resigning Ince, and Dortmund resigning Reus/ Barca resigning Fabregas is that they've proved themselves to be top players in the top flight.

Barcelona resign players all the time, with Jordi Alba being a recent example.

Hi ed,could u tell me have Liverpool looked at d number 9 who played for young boys.taught he looked really good.thanks {Ed002's Note - There is no known interest from Liverpool in Bobadilla.}

Why he is just a foreign andy Carroll

Ed002, what is the max number of loan players that we are allowed to have? {Ed002's Note - Four in a season - two at any time.}

Ed, does it mean we can bring in a maximum of only one more loan player in jan coz we already have Sahin on loan?
Recently there were reports in various newspapers suggesting we might look for two more loan moves come January .. {Ed002's Note - I thought it was clear, but yes, only one.}

There isn't any max {Ed002's Note - Four in a season - two at any time.}

Eds, i no this sounds silly, but on fifa i signed 5 youngsters Tonny Vilhena, Diego Fagundez, Marco Verratti, Ola John and Iker Muniain in one transfer period {Ed002's Note - I suspect that is a game.}

When Rodgers said a "couple" the other day then I assume he was referring to looking at a couple and not actually bringing in a couple? I know you can't read minds Ed but would that make sense?

Ben {Ed002's Note - I would advise against trying to disect everything said by officials of the club. The rules are clear about loans and one player has been approached as we know. If Liverpool wish to go beyond two in total then there must be a commitment to buy - not an option.}

Eds,

There have been reports that Rodgers has interest in Oscar Cardozo from Benfica. Great player I like him a lot, his age makes the reports a little surprising, but he would obviously improve our attacking options.

My question is why would Benfica be looking to sell? Is it because they expect Rodrigo to take Cardozo's position? At 23 I would prefer Liverpool to be looking at a guy like Rodrigo? Any shot they are looking at him as opposed to Cardozo? Or are they looking at neither.

Thanks.

Lee {Ed002's Note - Zenit have shown an interest in Oscar Cardoza and Liverpool had someone watch him in Washington DC during August. But for me it seems likely he will sign a new contract at Benfica. Juventus and Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in Rodrigo but for now anything else is speculation.} -

29 Nov 2012 16:50:50
ed new story about cole moving to qpr anything is this yet thanks {Ed002's Note - There may be interest but I suspect they would only want a loan initially. Another EPL club, I don't want to say which at this time, are interested in taking Cole for free and paying him a signing on fee but it would mean him agreeing to drop the money Liverpool owe him. I am not sure that would suit the player or the club. If such a deal were possible, I suspect a return to Lille would not be out of the question.}

Ed do you believe the return to Lille would be a transfer or another loan, if it were to happen.
Cheers {Ed002's Note - If it happens everyone would prefer a permanent move.}

Eds you said about him dropping the money Liverpool owe him, what do you mean by this? surely he owes us money, taking 90k a week for doing absolutely nothing?
but no in all seriousness what do you mean? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool extapolated his signing on fee across his contract by boosting is "weekly wage". If Liverpool sell and he leaves before the end of the contract the debt remains.}

Eriksen rumours seemed to stop you think there may be a chance in the summer eds? would apprieciate a reply thanks for the work eds!

Jpow_LFC {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club and Manchester City may well return for him again. The Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect both Milan clubs and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. Ajax will not let him run down his contract.

If the reports of price you see are true, you read anywhere 8-10MM pounds for Bony, I would love him as a signing. If he is more in the 15-20MM range then I am less sure. Love the player, price could be an issue. You get the sense with all the teams that ed002 says are looking that an auction could drive his price way up. Looks like a tremendous player though, would be a great fit for Liverpool's needs.

Lee

And everyone of them clubs listed is bigger and has more attracting potential than liverpool

29 Nov 2012 15:57:30
Hey Eds,
Any interest in Wilfred Bony? {Ed002's Note - Wilfried Bony was of interest to Newcastle over the summer and has been a player Chelsea have been considering for a while. Right now there is varying degrees of interest from Aston Villa, QPR, Liverpool, Everton and a couple of German sides. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams, but that is all there is at this time. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea but anymove in January is by no means certain.}

29 Nov 2012 15:29:02
Ed, do any clubs have interest in Fernando of gremio ?
he could eventually be as good as or better player than lucas and he would be young and cheap relatively ..not the area of most immediate reinforcement but with gerrard playing off position and sahin out of form he could be a real good buy in the long term.. {Ed002's Note - Gremio's Fernando has attracted the attention of Kashiwa Reysol, Spartak Moscow, Aalborg Boldspilklub, CSKA Moscow and Rubin Kazan.}

Haha AaB from Denmark? Must be a joke ed002. Regards from Denmark {Ed002's Note - You would think so, but they made an offer to take Fernando on loan.}

29 Nov 2012 15:10:44
Ed, Do you know if St Etienne will be looking to sell Aubameyang this january or are they hoping he will stay and sign a new contract? Does his contract expires summer 2014?

Have Liverpool showed any interest of lately?

Thank you for your time and hard work, hope you are well!

Norwegian Blob {Ed002's Note - After a year at St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Manchester City, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Spurs and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I don't see him leaving the Geoffroy-Guichard in January.}

29 Nov 2012 13:51:39
Any developments on the Walcott situation? He any closer to a new contract? {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed.}

29 Nov 2012 11:57:35
Hello Eds,
any news what transpired of our enquiry of Sturridge ? are Chelsea still open to selling him ?
two of Sturridge, Tom Ince, Walcott & Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be great in Jan. All possible and withinn our budget.
Before others start cursing, I too would prefer others (Llorente, Huntelaar etc.) but I don't feel we are in a position to sign them. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new in respect of Sturridge. If Liverpool make an acceptable offer and the kid wants to leave then Chelsea would not stand in his way.}

Huntelaar can't play football, he just scores goals. It's just another wet dream that you can rip on, if he doesn't make your high standards. I'm looking at you haters.

29 Nov 2012 11:17:57
Hi, eds I would really like to here your opinion on any interest in Ricky van wolfswinkel? He is young and has a consistent goal scoring record through out his career! Would be less than ten million also? {Ed002's Note - We know of confirmed interest from Lazio, Fiorentina, Spurs and both MIlanese clubs in Sporting Lisbon's Ricky van Woflswinkel. Sporting previously said they will talk to interested parties who offer 20M euros or more - about four times what they paid 18 months ago.}

With Ayre involved we're more likely to get Rocky & Bullwinkle

Hi Eds,
Please will you answer this plea rather than question.
What the hell is going on re the transfer market. While I am aware that Liverpool can't snap their fingers and players will come running with little or no money to spend (supposedly) we are linked with Tom Ince for £6m after selling him for £250k. I know different managers have different ideas but the owners must find this strange,surley we should move on from ince and look for a goal poacher who could make a difference and a decent left full to facilitate Enrique on the left side of midfield.

Thanking you in advance
dub96 {Ed002's Note - A striker is almost certain to arrive. Ince was sold for £57k by the way.}

Eds, Is it true that LFC have a sell on clause with Blackpool over Ince? if so this will surely drive the price down, I also think the £6m quoted is the media valuation and in truth Blackpool will accept a lower offer? {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of the contract provisions but if there is a sell on clause then that would be an effective reduction if Liverpool were to buy the player.}

Liverpool have a 35% sell on clause.

Eds, could u tell where does the striker come from? {Ed002's Note - You need to read the posts to see what the options are.}

Ince was sold becouse he refused a new contract. He wanted silly money at a time when he wasnt even a 1st team regular.

I bet Man Utd wish they had have bought peter beardsley back everyone lets 1 r 2 slip through the net if he is good enough get him back.Tommy Irish Red

Ive already stated that I support BR but the more I think about it the more I think Roy Evans could be a great help to him. Any chance Ed?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - unfortunately no, he would jump at the chance though and I, for one, would be delighted to see him back involved coaching with us. Evans is one of the best coaches in the world, in my opinion.}

Totally agree with both Chris and Ed.

We could have gone places back when he was in charge, before Houllier was appointed completely out of the blue. Dont get me wrong we were successful under Houllier, but Evan got the raw end of the deal.

He's a top guy and his input would be valueable thats for sure!

We can dream!
Mike in leeds

Lets get ronnie Moran back. He would eat these soft ap**s for his tea. Legend!

29 Nov 2012 13:30:10
Ed is your second name Evans by any chance ? Lol only messing doin a great job

I agree with ed Evans would've been my number one choice. Football was fantastic under him and if it weren't for being undermined by Moores and having a shoe string budget, except colly, I'm sure we would've gone places.

Welcome back anytime.

Nevada

He'd have to get passed Rodgers' ego, so no chance.

29 Nov 2012 09:25:14
Ed

Do liverpool have any interest in Milan Left Back Didac Vila?

Thanks

Haych {Ed002's Note - I would doubt there is much interest right now. Vila has suffered a couple of serious injury issues over the past two years. After a loan to Espanyol went well last season enquiries were made by several clubs with a view to him being taken on loan this season with Valencia being finally offered the player. After failing his medical he returned to MIlan for surgery.}

29 Nov 2012 00:52:55
Hi eds what do you think of jelle vossen of genk is he a likely target in January or next summer?. {Ed002's Note - He could move next summer but Liverpool have not, to my knowledge, shown any interest in Vossen.}
