Just wondering if there's any updates on Papadopolous or any other potential first team centre backs moving in? Or does it depend on Coates and Skrtel moving out first? With all the Mkhitaryan twitter rumours about signing for us, Tottenham and Dortmund for the past week not much on defenders.

Believable12 Unbelievable16

Papdopoulos' asking price is monstrous, meaning we have dropped our interest. Along with everyone else.

Eds great job with the site.

I heard we are announcing a big signing on the 3rd of July. All Russian media seem to think its Micky.

Fingers crossed its him.

Believable83 Unbelievable23

Not a big signing the fee is way too high . we better off getting eriksen

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the club aren't interested in Eriksen or he isn't interested in coming to Liverpool that's why they aren't bidding for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eriksen? really! We have Coutinho and Gerrard who are pass masters.
Mickey is 3rd man running type of midfielder that get's beyond the strikers if they drop off and drag the CB's out of position (like Lampard or if you like a terry McDermott) we need that type of player more than an Ericksen type to get a breakthrough in tight games.

A question to all those who think eriksen a better signing than mkhitaryan

If this is the case, why would Dortmund, a club whose name is currently simultaneous with quality young players, have moved from targeting eriksen to also going after the much more expensive Armenian?

Alvy

Agree0 Disagree0

Mkhitaryan is Eriksen with more pace, less showboating and a better shot

HM transfer to Liverpool to be completed in the next few days. My sources also tell me we have enquired about Luke Shaw.

Believable65 Unbelievable58

Hasn't Luke Shaw turned Man U down and signed a 5yr contract

Agree0 Disagree0

Mkhitaryan is true luke shaw is just speculation

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a russian journo who says the same - deal to be confirmed at least on Monday

whats the latest on oscar cardozo? I heard of tentative enquiries from Liverpool but I would hardly expect us to spend much on an aging player despite his obvious quality

Cardiff have made two bids for him both of which were rejected! I think the second one was in the region of 12 million euros

I hear andre wisdom is going to leeds on loan any truth in that and could it be byram coming the other way.

Believable27 Unbelievable35

This would be a bad idea good cover for johnson if he gets injured an he's the one whos impressed me most out of the youngsters last year good solid right back who deserves to be in the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

No to be fair he was sluggish and caught out of position a lot at right back. It was obvious to me that centre back is his natural position and against lesser players he can cover at right back but against more skillful, savvy players he was found wanting. I think going out on loan to play as centre back at a championship club would do him the world of good and really increase the possibility of him cracking a regular first team spot.

Ed John Bradley, Artur Petrosyan and few others journo's saying we have agreed a fee for Mhkitaryan and it will be announced in the next few days! do you have any info on this? {Ed001's Note - not a thing, I only know we are talking to the player and have been for a while. Not really the easiest club to get details out of, I know no one connected to them at all!}

Believable26 Unbelievable6

John Bradley has not!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ed I may be misinterpreting but when you say we are talking to the player does that mean a fee has been agreed with the club and they have let us speak to him or do you mean we are speaking to his agents? {Ed001's Note - I did not say anything about a fee being agreed because I don't know about that, but we have spoken to both club and player and are continuing to do so, as far as I know.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair comment edo1. Thanks Mark

Agree0 Disagree0

John Bradley kinda did. He tweeted a couple of weeks back that he would dance a jig if Mkhitaryan signed for us and then yesterday he tweeted "dancing a jig" but then deleted it.

Eds who is this other club Mickey is talking to? its not LFC. {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, he is talking to us, so I don't understand why you say he isn't? Unless you mean other than us, when that is self evident it is not LFC, so why add that on the end?}

Believable5 Unbelievable19

Apparently Tottenham have held talks with Micky but the transfer will be completed this week for him to become a Liverpool player.

*****FOR THE ATTENTION OF 'SOME' REDS USING THIS SITE*****

PLEASE. PLEEEEEEASE. For the LOVE of GOD, (TRY THE SEARCH FUNCTION)

As a life long Liverpool supporter and a user of this fantastic page for the past few years, I want to read informative questions that the Eds can hopefully answer with their vast wealth of footballing knowledge and possible inside info. (i did say hope eds) :-) What I DON'T want to see, is 15/20 questions, one straight after the other, asking the same thing over and over again. I makes us look like god damn Muppets. (SEARCH FUNCTION) Anyways, good work Eds, and to ALL Reds, everywhere. WE JUST DON'T WANT TO WIN 4TH PLACE. WE WANT TO WIN 'EVERYTHING' :-)

Stevie from Belfast

Amen brother

Agree0 Disagree0

I've never heard of this 'search function'

Agree0 Disagree0

Urgh. You use the search button

Agree0 Disagree0

Dude, if the news or rumours break at the same time, people will ask the same question at the same time, I really doubt they are doing it just to piss off the eds.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not beyond the wit of the editors to block these repetitive posts. They don't have to be displayed on the site.

Agree0 Disagree0

These "use the search button" posts by regular posters are becoming far more tedious and annoying than people asking the same question multiple times.

Daveevad

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2013 15:29:14
Agreed Daveead, if the poster wants yesterdays papers then let him read them, and not lecture those people asking for updates. In the transfer window, there are fast moving news stories. Is it not these same people saying it is just "old rehashed news" or "lazy Journalism" when someone posts a question they've read from a rehashed source, e, g a forum like this one. can't have it both ways, if the editors are happy to update, then I don't see the problem. Wind your neck in geez and stop looking for brownie points.

Andy73 hi eds. Has there been any interest in the Brazilian Bernard? Looks like a great little player. Cheers {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool.}

Believable7 Unbelievable11

Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their attempts to sign Hellas Verona's Italian-Brazilian starlet Jorginho.The 21-year-old creative midfielder's full name is Jorge Luiz Frello Filho, but he is known to supporters by his nickname.Born and raised in Brazil, Jorginho grew up in the Verona youth academy and has opted to represent Italy at international level, receiving one cap so far for the Under-21 side.Milan, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all sent scouts to view him at Verona, but Sky Sport Italia claim Liverpool are surging forward.The Anfield side is proposing an offer worth £8m - approximately 10.5m.

Believable29 Unbelievable15

Tv italia? as in tancred palmeiri, who kept on insisting that Gaston Ramirez was going to Liverpool last summer?

Agree0 Disagree0

What the fleck is going on Eds?

He looks a tidy RCM with good touch, pass and vision. A slightly taller Joe Allen. Do we need such a player? Surely not while Gerrard, Henderson, Allen, Coady, Teixera and (perhaps) Biteco are around.

Let's sign, everyone!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2013 09:04:31
Surprise Surprise Tottenham are after Mkhirityan (do they just scout our scouts!?!) eds how real is their interest or is it just paper talk? {Ed002's Note - Mkhitaryan is being offered around by his representatives and they are one of the clubs that has now been approached. Some discussions have now taken place. This is how the transfer process works, there is nothing special about this.}

Believable23 Unbelievable5

Come on lfc let's pay the money and get this guy b 4 someone else does?

Agree0 Disagree0

That is believable becuase most of AVB targets where Liverpool's
Dempsey
Mktyrian
Sigurdsson
Dembele

Agree0 Disagree0

Mikey and mino raiola were said to have had a very fruitful meeting with baldini

Agree0 Disagree0

Dembele? BR wanted Allen instead, long term we'll see how that turns out.

Papa G

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we not pretend to buy mark Walters Paul Stewart and Neil Ruddock, and the Tottenham will sign them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye I agree - I think spurs have `tapped` our phones to see where are scouts are goin

Agree0 Disagree0

Instead of moaning at Spurs how about we look at why these players are choosing them over us and rectify that. It's not just money and you're kidding yourselves if you think otherwise

Agree0 Disagree0

Would people get over it. This lad is being offered around everywhere it's not our divine right to sign him.

Dempsey - we annoyed fulham by being eejits and they didn't want to do business unless we paid extra - our fault
HM - being offered to loads of clubs
Sigurdsson - we could have had him but Rodgers wanted to see if he wanted to play for the shirt - he left for bigger wages so good riddance to him and great work by Rodgers to test the character of the player (as he had agreed those wages for signing for Swansea)
Demebele - lovely player but when were we ever interested in him

Agree0 Disagree0

To my dear fellow kopites-

spurs are getting on my effing nerves! they just want to buy our players because they're scared of our impending charge to 4th position in the next 1-2 years!

they dnt even need some of the players- just want to stop our momentum!

just to take spuds off our scent. we should go for some average players, start a bidding war. make spurs think we are going for them via media, and pull out of the transfer. bunch of imbeciles would then have a very unhappy imbalanced squad haha

mickey and wanyama would strenghten us no end.

lucas simply not good enough at the moment but good cover in certain fixtures and we need a free scoring midfielder now that gerrards dropped deep. wanyama and mkhitaryan fit the bill

hope the eds can give us some good news soon as they always squash stupid rumours and only give us facts

(also luv this site its brilliant)
cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

2 clubs with sort of similar styles of play in similar league positions with similar revenue and you're surprised we shop at the same store? Frankly I'm okay with Liverpool looking at the same sorts of players as Spurs and Dortmund. Certainly a step up from most of the last 10 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2013 18:47:48
I trust and agree with Ed002's Judgement that a deal with Liverpool and Mkhitaryan's club can be agreed.
Brad

Agree0 Disagree0

If you believe to Armenian tv stations in the US Mkhitarian is in London.Why in London and not in Liverpool?

Agree0 Disagree0

Let them have Mkhitaryan we will take Bale

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol let's be honest Mickey is hardly a top secret player never seen before who we have unearthed and tried to keep secret is he? His agent has basically offered him around to every club in Europe so the fact that another team might be interested should come as no surprise. I doubt Tottenham will fork out the money he'd cost given other targets they are looking at but if they do so what? We missed out on Dempsey and Sigurdsson last year and in hindsight i'm glad we did - is we miss out on Mickey who says it won't be a blessing in disguise? Lots of daft rhetoric on here today.

hi Eds. I have following this summers transfers very closely. how close we to Eriksen actually?. is he the second option if we fall short in signing mikhitaryan for AM position? {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed as far as I am aware. Right now I don't see Eriksen moving to Liverpool.}

heard scott parker is on his way out at spuds, any interest from Liverpool? need more than just lucas in that spot.

mauired
{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath about Scott Parker moving to Liverpool.}

Believable3 Unbelievable41

Scott Parker is a terrible player!

I'd sooner we signed Titus Bramble.

DK

Agree0 Disagree0

Scott Parker?
Please stop

Agree0 Disagree0

Scott parker is the most over rated player in the league!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would replace lucas with eriksen lucas has a habbit for losing the ball in dangerous areas eriksen gerrard coutinho mkhitaryan suarez sturridge that has a brilliant chance of top 4 in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Scott Parker a terrible player? No wonder lfc fans are called delusional. He's hardly a world beater at this stage in his career, but he's still a class act.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, if you're looking for someone to pass the ball sideways, he's your man.

DK

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want him at the club as I don't think he would offer us much, but I can't agree that he's a terrible player at all and I quite like watching him play to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

Terrible player? that's stupid

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would anyone consider replacing Lucas with Eriksen when both are clearly dissimilar types of player? CE would offer a lot going forward but very little defensively.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Parker over Lucas

Agree0 Disagree0

Eriksen doesent give the ball away in dangerous areas I wouldent say lucas is great defensively an he seems to get injured abit

Hey Ed002, any truth in Artur Petrosyans claims that we're about to complete a deal for Mkhitaryan? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - Any claims that a deal was struck yesterday are incorrect as his representatives were actively engaged in discussions with another club. Right now, I can see a deal being done with either Liverpool or Dortmund still.}

Believable22 Unbelievable5

If Dortmund do manage to pip us to Micky can you see us going back for Eriksen or do you seeing that deal being dead

Cheers mate {Ed002's Note - Eriksen has been done to death by me. Aren't there any other questions to ask.}

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2013 16:10:44
Ed002 is it possible that Liverpool agreed a fee with shakhtar yesterday then? rather than with the player, if his representatives were meeting with another club. No. You need togive the editors a break on this after the question has been answered.}

Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any confiremed interest in Elia from Liverpool at this time although enquiries were made by Saloniki and Kayseri Erciyesspor - but, as of a few days ago, no offers have been submitted for the player.}

hi Ed002 you said real have another player in mind is that instead of suarez cavani or both

mayhem 1981 {Ed002's Note - These are simply options at this time - but if a deal were agreed for Jovetic I would not expect further interest in Suarez from Real Madrid.}

Believable16 Unbelievable0

Thanks for that ed bit of luck they will see jovetic as a cheaper option and enable them to get there main target in bale still the worry of bayern and city I think city are still an option if the real deal was to fall short

mayhem 1981

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Mayhem in that, even if Real do sign Jovetic and pull out of the race for Suarez, there will definitely be other clubs still in the hunt. However after all the public flirtations by LS with Real it would be one hell of a kick in the proverbials if they were to sign a cheaper option. Good times.

Agree0 Disagree0

Has his consistent talking in public made them look elsewhere Eds? Or is it simply a financial thing? {Ed002's Note - I am told that Ancelotti likes him as a player but does not like him for his discussing clubs and transfers in public - albeit much of the fault rests with the press who keep asking. However, Ancelotii is one opinion in a regime that has drivers other tan what teh coach wants.}

Reguarding the shaktar player with the hard name. There seems 2 be Three completely contrasting reports: A Liverpool deal done by a russian news paper, Spurs interested by daily mail, and the independant saying he is going to Dortmund.

Believable28 Unbelievable6

Hentik Mkhitarian.I see no difficulty to read the name although the kh in Armenian is pronounced differently.English speakers may have difficulty to pronounce it as they do not have neither the letter nor the pronounciation of kh.Henrik wants to go to Liverpool and will leave for any other club if Liverpool can not buy hiom
