Diaz looks a player thought it when we played Porto both legs if anything was going to come it was from him .
If we get it over the line looks a great addition

Not seen much of carvalho from Fulham but see us being heavily linked to him

Obviously raphinha at Leeds has been linked aswell but obviously that would mean departures

But my question to the Ed's is could you see the club replacing mane and Bobby in the summer also maybe offload minamino and origi to free up their wages and reinvest in a raphinha and Diaz and also save the wages which would equate to salahs wage increase and look to introduce Gordon aswell .

Probably made all that up in my head and it will be a sad day when any of that original front 3 depart as for a season or 2 they where unstoppable.

Nah, the general info is that yes the club will look to rebuild/ refresh the squad over the coming windows.

I reckon we'll see Minamino, Origi and one of Firmino/ Mane all leave in the next 6 months and the other of Firmino / Mane leave the summer after so would not be surprised to see more attackers come in after Diaz.

GK 2nd choice incoming only if Kehlleher leaves.
Else Adrian and Karius out.

DEF
N. williams leaving may force hand for a RB.
Else sell Matip if Phillips is still here and we are good.

MID
Most changes should happen here.
Fab Hendo Jones and Elliot plus one of Keita OX and Thiago to stay.
Milner and 2 of above 3 to be replaced by Bissouma/ Keisse and Carvalho

FWD
Origi Mina and one or 2 of Mane and Firmino to leave.

Diaz, and some one on free like Dybala to join.

The above will in my opinion will be very strong squad.

Is Kelleher looking to leave?
Agreed summer has to be midfield sorted as that’s in the worst shape out of all departments in the squad . Thinking back to the Chelsea game when we wer 2-0 up with 5 mins to half time and our midfield (mostly hendo) are pinging pointless balls up top was the point in which I realised we need more control and discipline in that area and energy and work rate just aren’t enough these days .

{Ed0666's Note - Thiago?

I don’t think we have an issue in midfield when all are fit and available. Fabs, Hendo and Thiago as starters with Jones, Naby, Elliott, Milly, Ox, Morton to come in when needed gives us decent options.
I’d say the only time we’ve struggled is when a few of those aren’t available and recently we’ve had Naby, Elliott and Ox (he’s had to fill in up front) unavailable with Jones only just coming back from a lay off.
We could certainly do with cover for Fabs as we really miss him when he’s out but possibly Morton could learn to do that job.
I love buying shiny new players as much as anyone but it’s not as necessary as some would have you believe.

Bhav_reds, I broadly agree but Dybala will be far from free and, at 28, is not really a long term replacement for any of the front 3, being less than 2 years younger than them.
I think any further attacking options would be better if they were 25 or below. Would be ideal if we had a new front 3 set for 3-5 seasons like the current trio have been.

I think that’s the problem Becker’s they can’t stay fit that’s why I nearly choked when we were linked with sanches
Henderson worries me his leadership qualities are brilliant but at times in games recently he seems to be the weak link
Which I thought I’d never say as he’s always been a firm favourite of mine and always a 8/ 10

Let’s hope it’s just because of the volume of games and the sickness he had and he proves me wrong 👍🏻.

Agreed Ed Thiago is the man to bring this when fit but we will be lucky to get 20 games a season out of him

Same with naby

I understand injuries are part of the game and some people are just unlucky but them 2 seem to not put a run of games together at all

Tyler Morton when he grows in to his body will be real player and I’m excited to see what career that lad has

Cheers Ed.

{Ed0666's Note - you’re right about Thiago I wish he wasn’t made of Wotsits because he is a game changer. Not sure about Morton mate I don’t have the same confidence in him as you. I don’t think he’ll be at Liverpool long term.

Thiago played 30 times for us last season despite being knee capped and having C.V., and has already played 14 this season. He averaged about 40 a season for 6 years before we signed him.

He's injury prone, but it isn't half exaggerated. I personally think he is just so good that it sticks in peoples minds when he's missing and feels like longer than it really is.

MK you really like Thiago and as such are sticking up for him. Thiago has played as many poor games as good ones since his move to Liverpool and what do you mean he has already played 14 times? Likes it’s a lot. There is only just over 3 months of the season left. Thiago is on north of £200k a week and has not come anywhere close to justifying his wages.

I agree eds, Morton isn't good enough imo.

{Ed0666's Note - I really hope he proves me and you wrong tho. Best feeling in the world when a kid from the academy makes it in the Liverpool first team. We’ll May e not the best feeling in the world but you know what I mean 😂

Who knows with Morton. Klopp seems to rate him as can be seen by giving him so many chances this season so I have faith. You can definitely tell the difference when Klopp is grooming a youth player for the first team and using them as stop-gaps and I definitely feel Morton falls into the former camp. We can't expect every youth player to be as good as TAA but that doesn't mean they're not worth developing. Maybe he will just be a solid rotational squad player and if he is it will be an alround success. There were enough players in Fergie's beloved class of 92 who were nothing special talentwise who went on to become important players for him.

If you are going to dream of Dybala on a free please dream big and make it Mbappe.

All of Salah, Mane and Firmino are 29 or 30 so makes sense to be phasing in some players into the front line over the next couple of years, especially since Origi and Minamino don’t look likely to step up into first team starters.

I think a front line of Diaz, Jota, Salah, Mane is likely in next year or two with maybe Elliott and Kaide getting more minutes as Salah/ Mane get on into the mid 30’s.

The midfield is a tricky one too with Milner, Hendo and Thiago getting on a bit and questions over Naby Keita and Ox continuing. In a year or two’s time we’re going to have to see some incoming talent to back up Hendo/ Thiago and able to play alongside Fabinho and Curtis Jones.

Morton is 18 - he is just a kid who did a job when he was called on to play. He doesn’t compare to the best in the world yer because he hasn’t started shaving yet. Let’s hold until he makes it into his 20’s eh?

I’m with you west derby
When he gets his man body I think he will be a real player
Disappointed to see people say he’s not good enough after 5/ 6 showings for us

Hopefully he proves his worth over the coming years seems a nice grounded lad aswell.

I hope he does prove a success but not convinced. Got the feel of a few others that had high hopes but fell short.

Thiago is an excellent player. But for me his injury record is not exaggerated. He’s averaged less than 20 league starts per season for the past 6.5 years. Not once in his career has he started 30 league games and only twice has he started more than 25.

Any player who is averaging 1 start in every 2 league games is injury prone. Does appear he’s not someone we can rely on for a whole season.

I agree Reyrey. He's never had a full season in him. I look at him as more of a luxury when he's available rather than someone you can rely on.
