Where have these rumours about Reina leaving in the summer come from any truth to it and if it is could you see us moving in for someone like vorm from Swansea

LFCHero :)!

Dont worry mate its just made up carp, just people trying to mess with us

Oh right good news although vorm would be a class replacement

29 Apr 2012 22:40:16
Think we all need to be realistic, i think in the summer we will sign:

A new Keeper, not sure who
A new Striker, most likely De Jong or Saldado (Depending how much) or i can see us stupidly signing steven fletcher of wolves.
A Young Winger, Zaha
A Attacking Midfielder, probably Ramirez.

I can see Kuyt, Maxi, Aqualani, Auerlio leaving, carroll most likely will get another season.

-GD.

Seems reasonable

"Stupidly signing Steven Fletcher" then you go to mention that we should sign Zaha. lol.

I never said 'We Should' sign zaha, i said we most likely we will sign..

I hope we sign some decent players like ramirez,ozil, higuain,muiain,martinez etc etc and we change the manager and sign guardiola

"i can see" what are you, a fortune teller mate?

29 Apr 2012 22:29:48
If Reina does leave we should be going for ter Stegan from Monchencladbach. Could be the perfect time to get rid, as we could still get a good fee and ter Stegan will be snapped up by one of the big teams soon anyway. Beast of a keeper

Completely agree. This kid is 19 and is a fantastic player and one of the best young keepers I've seen. A brilliant shot-stopper, very agile and great reflexes. The only criticism I have of him is that his handling can be questionable on times, he's a little prone to letting the ball to slightly get away from him on times. Still, a great prospect and if we had any sense, we'd snap him up asap before other clubs get their hands on him.

Dont get me wrong, i want Reina to stay, but if he was to leave it could be the right time. This lad is bound to have things he can improve on, he's still just 19, but imo he will be a fantastic keeper. Just look at how far along De Gea has come along in one season at them t**ts. Start of the season he was flapping at everything. It just comes with experiance.

29 Apr 2012 22:03:04
If pepe does leave judging by tonight's barca game, we could do a lot worse than bid for victor valdes's understudy, pinto, who looks a proper keeper. Hard to tell for sure given the lack of chances, but the saves he,s pulled off tonight suggest he's one to keep an eye on

Hes like 37 better to invest in a younger player

Is this guy serious? We may as well sign Guardiola in centre mid aswell #golden-oldies!

That would be ironic, since if Pepe leaves, I expect him to go to Barca.

Bruce Grobelaar looks a great prospect too!

Bring back Westerveld!

29 Apr 2012 21:58:55
dont think he will but if Reina goes we should get Foster, top class that boy
YNWA JFT96

And still only young! What is he, 17? 18? Top top player.

Martin

More importantly exx manc. Id rather cut my hand off

Is this ben foster posting?

I assume it's the guy who makes the beer that you are talking about and not the West Brom goalkeeper.

29 Apr 2012 21:57:26
Ed's, lots of people on here are posting that Reina will be leaving in the summer. Just wondering what do you think are the chances of him leaving? If he were to leave, surely its for footballing reasons such as Champions League football as he has always said he is very happy at Liverpool and his family are completely settled on Merseyside. I also don't think he would sign for any other club outside Spain. Any ideas who Liverpool would be interested in as a replacement? Michel Vorm perhaps? {Ed002's Note - I don't know that there is any intention for Reina to leave at this time.}

I hope so Ed as I for one am a big fan of his. Yes he hasn't had the best of seasons but he has always looked a shadow of his former-self since Xavi Valero left. Hopefully he'll make the return to Liverpool in the summer and Pepe will get his mentor back.

Thats cool. Sell a 20 odd m keeper and buy a 2m Championship level keeper.
Why dont we sell everyone else while we're at it. As long as Tom and John keep making money eh?!

29 Apr 2012 21:44:32
Good evening everybody. I was just laying in the couch watching the Barcelona game, and i was thinking that when Pep Guardiola is taking a brake til next season ends, it match that kennys contract expires. I would assume

I thought Dalglish had a 3 year deal? So your maths is a little out.

TSP

Hes got two seasons left after this one. but if pep was to come in it would give him a good reason to "step down" (thinking about the fans reactions).

Pep is in my big wish list this summer. Slim chance but hey...people can dream right? But first, I'm just waiting for our new DOF.

29 Apr 2012 21:25:53
We were watching Moussa Sissoko at the Toulouse game...

KKM

Well obviously,he WAS playing

29 Apr 2012 21:22:40
Liverpool are interested in Matt Jarvis to provide another option for the Left wing. Liverpool will be able to get him cheaper now due to their impending relegation. Wolves insist they are not in a position where they need to sell but this is just their hope that it will fend off interest from other clubs.

I was supporting Wolves to stay up because I was fearful we'd be all over Jarvis if they got relegated. Please, no.
He's a decent player but hardly an improvement on anyone we currently have.

Be nice to have a back-up left winger for the first time in years though. I am expecting Downing to actually kick on next year.

TSP

Sterling.
Right side.

Please god, no, did we not learn from Adam? We dont need another mediocre midfielder we need quality this time

29 Apr 2012 21:09:26
This is what i think will happen:

Dalglish given more time to prove himself.
Carroll will also be given more time.
Aquilani,kuyt,cole,maxi and spearing will go.
Reina will leave if a good offer comes in.
Liverpool will sign hoilett or moses.
Striker comes in as back up for carroll-Rhodes most likely.
Sterling and Suso promoted to first team.

All of the other targets are out of reach,clubs with champions league are more likely to snap up big names.

Why does everyone seem to think Reina will leave? He stuck by through the hardest times & is just coming into his peak. Silly move for LFC to let him go

Hoilett n Moses aren't good enough for Liverpool...... We will be relegated if we buy players like them.....they are awful

Relegated?
Hoilett's a good player.
Don't expect expensive foreign signings.
Fletcher a possible incomer.

You had me till rhodes

Evenin' all,
I have heard from a mate who is a Liverpool FC crowd Security steward.
He seems to think Adam, Kuyt and Reina will be leaving in the transfer window, along with the obvious Aurelio. Reina will be a big blow but he wants Champions league football (who can blame him?) and wants to go home. Kuyt wants more footy and is hoping to be a hero at Feyenoord again. Adam likes to be the main midfielder like he was a Blackpool, and is not happy he is now behind Hendo and Leiva when he returns. Carroll and Suarez are staying and both themselves and the club want them to stay put.
On the purchasing side, a top rated new midfielder is being worked on but he doesn't know who.
He does think Adam Johnson is interested in coming. Apart from that the owners are happy with the rest, but want another forward who is creative and can score. (Plus a new goalie of course!)

Would like to see ter Stegen come in if pep leaves

Why do these types of posts get approved ?. makes the site look like a kids forum

How would a "crowd steward" know anything beyond where to buy pies from and how to block your view of the game?
These orange wastrels spring up in great numbers ten minutes from the end of each half and congregate like bunches of carrots before planting themselves in the ground around the pitch.
At what point do these hi-viz bouncers learn about transfer policy? When do they get inside-information on the inner workings of a global sporting concern?
ANFIELDPETE

I work with 2 wigan athletic stewards,it's just a jib they turn up for,they get told jack,it be the same at any club

If Pepe leaves, it will be because he is unhappy with the club. He has looked it for the last two years.

Champions League will be used as an excuse.

Similar to the Wigan post, my uncle has been a steward and security guard at Arsenal for years, and he has never once happened upon information regarding transfers.

He does, however, have several brilliant stories regarding winding up Fabianski by calling him Almunia.

TSP

My wife used to work with a Chelsea steward some years ago and didn't get much info either, although did confirm (their thoughts maybe) that they bought SWP to stop us getting him.
I suppose if a steward asked the right questions to the right people, they might know something, as word does get about!

Keith

You say Reina is leaving because he want to go home and wants to play champions league football. Well he aint excatly going to have a spot at barca or real. So which Spanish club who will be in the champions league do you envisage him joining. Third placed Valencia who aint got a pot to pee in. You numpty. Reality Red

Hey eds/Macca....i remember in an interview with Xabi Alonso, where he said that he wanted to win the La Liga with Real Madrid before he made a return to Liverpool. You guys know anything regarding him coming back to L'pool?

Thanks
Kindest Regards {Ed002's Note - No.}

I know that if we wanted Xabi then the powers that be believe he would love to return..

I am not saying that he is coming back at all just that he would like to..

Cheers

Macca

Thanks Macca. I always thought in that interview, he just said he really wanted to just win a league title, whether that be Spain or here in England. Would love to have him back, might help Reina to stay, 'if' he is thinking about moving on, that is!

Keith

I for one think if this cou;d happen then it would be massive alonso was key to how we played we never replaced him adam not anywere near as good as him i think we should do everything in our power to bring him back

Phil Babb believes that liverpool are in advanced talks with Sunderland over summer transfer for James McClean

Hope this one's true,i like this kid,he could go a long way !! B

Could do a lot worse, maybe a star during the euros. cmon Ireland!

O'neill will get in the way he always does

Hemderson is the only sunderland kiddy we need im sure kenny had to much of a ball aich over him

This is just my opinion what LFC need to be serious contender for the title next year:
1. new manager (Guardiola/Joachim Loew/Luciano Spalletti/Marcelo Bielsa)
2. playmaker (in style like A. Pirlo, but younger, don't have a clue who exactly thou)
3. right winger (A. Johnson/Hulk/A. Di Maria/A. Robben/E. Lavezzi/Susaeta)
4. 2 strikers (G. Higuain/E. Cavani/E. Dzeko...)
5. new centre back and right fullback
6. sell: Spearing, Maxi, Carroll, F. Aurelio, Henderson, Aquaman and maybe some others

Yeah and about a £450 million pound transfer kitty

Why would they come to our club. And why sell hendo?

Surprised u dont have messi and ronaldo on your list of strikers :)

Im sure they'll love the idea of champions league football, oh wait...

Dear, oh dear.

We don't need a new manager , just someone who knows a good Player willing to join us

Wake up mate.

Dont know why your saying anything about a title, if liverpool put together a team that has the calibre to fight for a cl spot id be a very happy man!

Haha pure fantasy football, can you imagine the transfer fee and wages some of these would cost !

Ronaldo and messi are not there because they are not winger

Must be some sort of wally! you'd struggle to get that sorta team on fifa!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a reply on a reply of my post:

You bloke, first learn to read...
I said 1 right winger from those listed, do you see the slash / between the names ?
I see you're one big doctor of this game called football... Why sell Hendo is your question? '
'Nuff said

Henderson is a young player, only 21, captain of u21's is still learning his trade and is progressing in the centre of midfield where his best position is. Give him another 2-3 seasons and he'll be quality.
That's why it would be silly to sell

Bilverstone

Stick to FIFA, your fantasy isn't gonna happen. NUFF SAID!

Anyone who thinks Kenny is the answer is under the spell of lunacy. Leaves one of our highest scoring players out in Maxi all season just so he can prove a point with his 20million duds in Henderson and Downing.

Them kinda players wud only sign for us on footy manager after u had data editored liverpool to give us 200 million quid come on be more relastic to where er r as a club at the moment we are not a champs league club any more we need player to get us there and we are having to do things in stages we will sign none of the players u have said at all guaranteed 100% every player other then Susaeta is playing champs league football already get a grip

Hey eds, do you know of any interest in Lewis Holtby from Liverpool, or indeed from any other teams? Top quality young German playing for Schalke 04.
Appreciate it. {Ed002's Note - Arsenal may be interested in Holtby, but that is all.}

Hes a everton fan

Unfortunately it would be very hard to persuade Holtby to join us as he's a massive Everton fan.

29 Apr 2012 20:50:18
Gaston ramirez - has anyone watched his videos on youtube hes not thT great but slow and not that quick not for premier league why do liverpool fail to excite with there signings. Also why is gerrard not playing behind striker or even if we buy striker play suarez behind and play ferrard to right or left in a position wgere he can create he is wasted in dm he looked what we expect from him yesterday its so evident hes better in the hole why dies kenny refuse to do it man its annoying and frustrating hes 31 hes running out of time and were not making most of him

Why does Kenny refuse? He has been injured for the best part of 2 years, mate. He needed to get fully fit and settled him into the deep-lying centre mid position. Obviously, since Gerrard is fit now he is going to play him next to Suarez - WHICH HE DID YESTERDAY...

BthekingB

I think gaston ramirez would make a good signing. iHe is also uraguian which will add an insentive for suarez to stay and other uragians to come in.

29 Apr 2012 20:02:09
The Football Association has made its first move towards appointing a new England manager after being granted permission to speak to West Brom head coach Roy Hodgson. couldnt do it at liverpool never mind England !!!

Different level of Football. He has a proven record on the international stage.

Was at Liverpool at the wrong time, you can't really judge him in the sercumstances

Circumstances!!

Disaster waiting to happen! RL

Oh, how i wish i was scottish!

Roy is perfect for england because they are awful aswell

29 Apr 2012 20:02:00
Roy hodgson been approached by fa over emgland job being scottish this for me is laughable surely after his terrible defensive tactics he showed with liverpool proves hes not upto managing in the big time with big players big egos? I think this is a disaster for you english fans i genuinly fell sorry i though harry was the only option hes a great manager

Roy Hodgson's managerial career spans nearly 30 years. The vast, vast majority of that has been successful, notably also including success with international teams. If you want to judge him on 6 months of those 30 years in charge of a failing, dysfunctional club then fine, but I think that makes you quite extraordinarily narrow-minded.

DP

A great manager that won one major trophy in his illustrious career jumped ship with southampton and portsmouth twice in their times of need. Ollivander.

I don't rate Roy or Harry as managers. Neither are top drawer IMO.

Gaz1975.

I'd rather Hodgson over Redknapp!
He is more experinced in international football and he WILL play Gerrard and probably make him captian like he deserves

Wonder what steven gerrard thinks about this

DP, you haven't got a clue mate, our last manager fabio had vast experience and was far more successful than hodgson, not to mention Sven, who was vastly experienced, neither Harry or Roy are good enough, that is my opinion and I'm entitled to it

I don't think it was his inability to handle big egos. It's is inherent tactical conservatism, particularly in defense. Any Hodgson teams I've seen, be they Liverpool, Fulham or WBA have been all the same, they sit off and let the oppo have the ball and try to break quickly. That equates to suicide in international football. England will try sitting off teams who can play football and will be beat.

And as for playing Gerrard, you're right he will. He'll play him where he played him for us - 6 yards in front of the centre backs.

OK fine, let's just ignore the manager's CVs and pick a name out of a hat. I agree Hodgson's not the best in the world, but if the FA are so hell-bent on hiring English, then Hodgson's clearly got more in his favour than most, if not all the other candidates.

DP

This would be an absolute disaster. Might as well enjoy these Euros as we ain't qualifying for the next World Cup.

Made up jornalists get what they deserve quick to slate us not giving him a chance see if they feel the same watching england play with ten men behind the ball

Paul Konchesky will get called into the England sqaud. Good for him ;)

Hodgson= symbol of everything wrong with football. Clueless, mercenary, hated Reds fans. Much pay hige amounts to pr companies to dupe people into thinking he isnt anything other than a stain on football. {Ed002's Note - I am guessing you are not want for "thanks for your efforts and good luck in the future" then?}

29 Apr 2012 19:56:57
Ed - are Man Utd interested in signing Kagawa? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester United, Udinese, Spurs, Villarreal and Valencia, who have shown an interest in Kagawa this past few months. He says that a move to Manchester United would be impossible to turn down. I think that he may well stay on in Germany next season. Reinhard Rauball has made it clear that there still hasn't been contact with Dortmund from another club.}

Lol I bet you'll be asked this again before the day is over Ed

29 Apr 2012 19:56:35
Jason mcateer believes that loverpool are in advanced talks with man city over summer transfer for adam johnson

How do you know? Where rdid you hear this?

Jonesred

I've said for a long time that the club were interested.

DaveyBootle

29 Apr 2012 19:53:24
There is two clubs interested in andy carrol for the person said no buyers liverpool are demanding a fee in excess of £15-£20 million ehich will not ve matched but i am reliably told by Clair rourke that sunderland and fulham are sniffing around with fulham wanting a loan and sunderland only willing to pay around half of that.

No way will Carroll play for Sunderland, that has to be made up- he's a lifelong Toon fan.

It would be like Gerrard signing for Man U.

29 Apr 2012 19:13:02
Hi eds , firstly great website , is it true that LFC have bid for Gaston Ramirez and is it true we have a guy called Diego Cannigia ( south american scout ) negotiating on our behalf ? {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts about Ramirez and whatever happens Cannigia will not be negotiating with Bologna on behalf of Liverpool.}

29 Apr 2012 19:12:57
Ed's
What are your thoughts on our new portugese midfielder Texeira, do you think he will get introduced to the first team next year or loaned out?
Chris {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt Texeira will be in the first team nbext year aside from a cameo or two.}

29 Apr 2012 19:06:01
On Carroll.
Liverpool's valuation on Carroll puts off protential interest. Nobody has shown any interest in buying him although things may change this summer.
In my opinion he's staying for at least one more season.

Suarez..
Tough one to call but I believe he will be staying too.

Liverpools priority this summer is coaching staff, back room staff and a new DOF.
I hear a new American is coming to Liverpool but not quite sure if he's the DOF. What I'm told is that he is extremely talented at his job and will be a massive addition to the club.

Other interesting point I hear is that Reina may leave dependent on the offer that will come in. There is interest in the player from a major club and the player wants this due to family reasons.
A big clear out will happen but none of the new buys.

Almost believable, but Reinas family are happy and settled, if he leaves it will not be for family reasons.

Complete rubbish..know for a fact carroll has full backing at lfc and will not be sold..dont know bout suarez but imo i very much doubt he will want to leave and i also know that reina is buying dirk kuyts house so kuyt is going and unless reina is joining everton then he is not leaving

Agree with two above.
I would'nt be surprised if Clarke leaves,Keen promoted and new defensive coach brought in.

Sounds like a pr plant from NESV. "Massively talented" and "American" and "may be the DOF"... yeah right.

And the obligatory "blame it on the family" when Pepe says "what a joke"..

29 Apr 2012 18:50:42
hi ed cool site.........with a crazy transfer window looming i think the 1 transfer that we really need is starring us in the face in the form of a former player...........pass master..creator..legend..and who still has LFC in his heart as he still comes back to watch the pool. Forget all other targets , i really think we have a serious chance of gettings XABI ALONSO back as i watch a lot of spanish football and i never see him smile or see him enjoy himself on the pitch as much as he did for us. whats the chances of XABI coming back....imagine Xabi and Lucas .. Dave(dublin) {Ed002's Note - I would not have thought chances are too good Dave.}

So you basing are chances of him signing on he doesn't smile a lot when playing? Really?

Hes a special player, still gutting watching him at madrid
5gold stars

29 Apr 2012 18:37:57
Ed, texeria will be 20 next season, Shelvey 21, Henderson 22, we have gerrard and Adam as senior players and I have seen you mention today there might be interest in another attacking CM?
Now whilst I could understand a defensive CM to go with a striker and right sided player do you not think Attacking mid is the one area we do have players?
RNred {Ed002's Note - I am not so sure Shelvey and Henderson are attacking midfield players per se.}

Shelvey is more of a deep lying cm
Whereas Henderson is more of a box to box cm

29 Apr 2012 18:20:09
Evening Eds, what's the situation with Bijev ? Specially since we have an American tour this year will his work permit be ready? {Ed002's Note - I am not so sure he will get a work permit this year.}

Being an American, could he not paly for us in America? Or are there some rules I am missing?

TSP {Ed002's Note - He can play friendlies in the States and given that the touring squad will be much weakened it might make sense to take him.}

29 Apr 2012 18:18:05
Eds,
what do you think, in your personal opinion, do we have a realistic chance of signing Shinji Kagawa?
With United also interested and no CL? {Ed002's Note - Read the other posts please.}

Eds any interest in henri saivet from bordeaux {Ed002's Note - No.}

Gaston ramirez agent has said that the one bidder for ramires is not liverpool...

It was Chelsea.
AnfieldUSA

It was Liverpool apparently, the bid was put in when John Henry was over here. 20 million euros, £16.3m. {Ed002's Note - So how come it was reported on March 30. Hopeless.}

Ed do you know who it was or are they trying to get teams to move {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts - this is dealt with almost every hour.}

Exactly eds why was it reported in march but only recently john w henry was here and why does he need to be gere to put bid in? I also dont think it was chelsea theyv bought marin and are chasing hulk i believe man city to replace johnson. I personaly dont think he is £16 m quality though if downings 20mill quality i suppose a lot of people are worth 16m....

29 Apr 2012 16:38:25
ed. any chance of liverpool getting a.greizmen. {Ed002's Note - Athletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the recent past and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time, but there is nothing of note right now.}

29 Apr 2012 16:38:05
I have heard from a daily mail sports journalist that liverpool will bid £13 million for sissoko and 6.5 million for wilfred zaha and liverpool will only buy soldado if andy carrol is sold if not jackson martinez will be only striker.

Do you believe anything the Daily Mail 'sports journo's' say...?

It's a rumours website! He just posted what a journalist said. Give him a break.

Thank you i am only posting what i have been told i am not saying this is definitly going to happen we probably bid for many players bit domt always get i only come on and oist what i heard from him u dont need to listen if u dont believe me but i new about jordan henderson before we bidded that was a suprise and i know we tried for phil jobes befor rumoured so i believe we will get one if not two of these

Would love to see sissoko in the red

29 Apr 2012 16:26:55
Hello Eds, interesting week on this site with claims that we have bought players, bid for players and are in for players, none of which are true.
You may recall I have posted twice before on this site and I only tell you what I know from a guy whose son plays at Youth Level for the Reds.
He says that we will cover every position with a CD, RB, AM, RW AND ST being sought.
He claims the reports about Gaston Ramirez are not strightforward but are true and that Luuk De Jong will also come for definite. Isla is not the RB we are looking at but we will go for someone with Prem experience, as with the CB position with Huth being a possible, for around 4M with Coady going to Stoke for a season for Prem experience.
Right Winger would be A. Johnson if City would allow it, but to date they wont.
Soldado is a strong link but as much as we would like Susaeta and Muniain they are unlikely to sign.
On top of all this Eds, he says Dalglish will stay on as Manager for at least next season so that the new DOF can assess and have someone close to him who has been part of the Club development ( albeit poor development ) over the last 18 months. YOZLFC

29 Apr 2012 16:04:42
Eds do you know if we have any interest in Aaron Lennon? {Ed002's Note - Not that I know of.}

He wouldn't be interested

Why would we want him ? another headless chicken with very little end product

Thank the lord he wouldn't be interested!

Lennons turd itll just be a repeat of last summer of signing useless englishmen

And who plays on the right for Liverpool exactly? No winger, headless chicken ? He's half as good as most of the LFC team

29 Apr 2012 15:57:53
I have a season ticket to Lech Poznan and I see this chat about Lewandowski. He was a great player for Lech but if Liverpool want to sign a better player , Rudniew (Rudevs) is better than Lewandowski. He scores goals but can play from the right midfield. He is strong and very good with his head. He will be cheaper than Lewandowski.

29 Apr 2012 15:52:06
Hi eds,

Do you think more of our younger players will be loaned out next season. Players like Flanagan and suso possibly coady these players should be learning in the championship or smaller clubs in the prem.

Red raj {Ed002's Note - I am sure several will go on loan.}

Eds which players you hope to go to loan . Is toni silva returned after loan spell? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea who will go on loan and I would think no firm decisions will be made until well in to the summer.}

29 Apr 2012 15:47:57
Hi ed's just to let people know aquaman came on as sub on 60 minutes! Will he or won't he, sign for milan? I really hope we sign g ramirez, s kagawa and l de jong, what do u reckon of r chances ed's ? Thanks DHH L20 KOPITE. Y..N..W..A jft96! {Ed002's Note - That is another half point toward the 25.}

Thats now 25.5 games he played in, he only needs two starts and a sub
appearance now.

i want him to come back to Liverpool just for the next season it would main that we wont have to buy any central midfielders and look how he set up Torres and Gerrard. i don't understand why people call him a flop because clearly its his decision not go back to Italy.

i mean liverpool have tried to give him away for free basically if they don't take him then i feel that liverpool have to make a BUSINESS decision to keep him.

For his sake, I hope he signs
AnfieldUSA

How many apps is he on?

I believe that takes him to 23.5 points?

29 Apr 2012 15:47:20
Ed u say that we are one of the clubs interested in kagawa. BVB have just confirmed that he has rejected the new contract. Do you think we have got a chance of getting him? {Ed002's Note - I think that they will sort out the contract and he will probably stay on in Germany next season. Reinhard Rauball has made it clear that there still hasn't been contact with Dortmund from another club. If not, there is a chance.}

The people crying about Marin are probably the same ones who said we should get Taiwo for left back. Now he's struggling at QPR. Can't judge a player off computer games you stupid kids.

Kieran.

I can only laugh at your stupid comment, Marin is a quality player who is worth at least double the sum Chelsea paid and if you don't believe that you are deluded, you mention Taiwo it''s funny you don't mention Jelavic Papiss Cisse, Mata etc. And I bet you watched today's game and came to the conclusion that Taiwo is struggling? he was actually decent for QPR and although I can't remember anyone wanting him or 'crying' that he joined AC Milan
YNWA_9023

And the same people who cried for mata, david silva, aguero and so on....yeah whats your point

No I didn't say anything about jelavic, Cisse or Mata because I wanted us to sign all three of them! That's not the point the point is I've watched Marin many times over the last couple of years and he's nowhere near as good as people are making out. How many games have you seen him play?!

Kieran.

Look keiran fans have a right to be concerned about us being missed out on past signings. He has been considered a top talent for a while now and the top clubs around Europe have been touting him and to be getting him at the the supposed price seems like a great deal to me. Oh and yes I've watched him play all season. So if we end up with another Downing and they end up with another talent I'm sure you'll say you wanted him. I mean I remember being moaned at by many fellow fans for venting my fury at picking downing over mata, it's clear I'm right now.

But hes class on fifa and i got him for 650 coins surley if i can get such a bargain so could liverpool lol

You're certain that we 'picked Downing over Mata'? Speak to Dalglish and Comolli regularly do you? Do you have any idea how many other factors come into play in a transfer? We may not have been able to afford his wages... he may have wanted Champions League football... he may have preferred the idea of living in London to Liverpool... we might have wanted both players. Even if we did pick Downing over Mata does it not occur to you that they are completely different players and perhaps Kenny had the right instincts in thinking that an old fashioned touchline-hugging winger would give us a better option and complement our current players better. Same with Marin. I think it's good that we're not getting him because I don't rate him, but for all we know we tried our best to sign him... or more likely Kenny has someone else in mind. He's the boss and we have to trust his vision for the squad.

Kieran.

I don't have to trust anyone's vision for the club when we sit 8th in the league. Would I trade the two cup finals for 4th. I don't think you would because you trust kennys vision. On regards to downing and mata , I'm going on the consensus of what has been speculated by many fans, journalists etc. Which is what you do. You trust kennys judgement which means you still must be happy with downing which shows the lunacy of your posts because there was far better out there at the expense. Fans vent their frustrations because we want to be reassured with continuing to make strides. Missing out on another big talent like Marin suggests otherwise from an outsider perspective.

Theres been rumors about Honda & Afellay joining liverpool do you have any thoughts on these players joining the club? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were very interested at one time but may have blown their chance of Honda in January 2011 when he was available for about £8M. During the mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus were interested in Honda but the player said he wanted to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price put them off. Recent enquiries for the player have been from Lazio, PSG, Sevilla and Palermo and Lazio nearly signed him in January. I suspect Lazio remains the likely destination but Liverpool could revive their interest. Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think it would be taking a chance before he could really prove his fitness - although he may get two or three games before the end of the season so there will be a chance to take a look. However, I think it likely that he will be available in the summer- and Italy looks like one option if he is.}

Apparently Ikér Muniaín, Robert Lewandowski, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Ramus Elm, Cristian Tello and Mauricio Isla will all come in this summer with Fabió Aurélio,  Maxi Rodriguez, Dirk Kuyt, Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam, Doni, Nathan Eccleston, Peter Gulacsi being shipped out.

Team for next year:
Reina.
Johnson. Skrtel. Agger. Enrique.
Sigurdsson. Lucas. Gerrard.
Suarez. Muniain.
Lewandowski.

Bench:
Jones, Kelly, Coates, Isla, Hendo, Bellamy, Carroll

Makes sense, considering we paid £35 million pounds for a bench warmer.

Would be the greatest transfer window ever if it happend.....

Biggest nonsense I have heard, at least make it sound realistic to try and interest me.

Why are we buying tello and Elm, if they can't even make the bench. :)

And you think elm is going to come to play reserve football?

Muniain, Soldado will sign. Sigurdsson only if Aquilani leaves. A defensive midfielder will sign. A right back wont be signed because Johnson is staying along with Kelly. Tello wont be going anywhere, and Elm definitely isnt good enough for Liverpool. Lewandowski is on fire for Dortmund this season, they dont want to sell.

Boll ots.... Unfortunetly Adam and Downing going no where.

Jeese!! Your well informed? Not!

CONFIRMED: Shinji Kagawa will leave Borussia Dortmund in summer. He rejected to sign new contract and will be allowed to leave.

King, cmon :) {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester United, Udinese, Spurs, Villarreal and Valencia, who have shown an interest in Kagawa this past few months. Although Kagawa is considering an extension to his contrac the says that a move to Manchester United would be impossible to turn down. I think that he will probably stay on in Germany next season. Reinhard Rauball has made it clear that there still hasn't been contact with Dortmund from another club.}

Going to United

I would take Honda over Kagawa all day and as you say if utd go for him then its a dead cert, Chelsea, Cty & Arsenal don't want him so it leaves Utd, Spurs and us.

Honda - £14m = CDM/CM/CAM/LW/RW/CF
Kagawa - £20m = CAM/RW/LW

I was recently in Holland and apparently over there a deal for Luuk De Jong is all but done. Fee believed to be in the region of 8 million. Him and another forward with a bigger rep will be signed.

Why get someone exciting when Kalou is available on a free?

No Chance of getting him for £8m, more like £12-£15m.

And Kalou is s**t

Hi Eds,
Great site on here!!
Any chance that we could go for Gregory VAN DER WIEL if G.Johnson leave as M.Isla is out injured?
If there is no interest from us,what are the club interested in him?
Y.N.W.A
Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool may well become interested in Van Der Wiel and he will probably move in the summer but his preference remains Spain - and something may yet be worked out with Valencia. Real Madrid have also shown an interest in the player. Chelsea may maintain an interest but they are more interested in Azpilicueta.}

Get Gregory Van Der Wiel and Luuk De Jong

van der wiel is the right back equivalent to Daniel Agger

Glen Johnson is not going anywhere.

Ed do you believe that we have put a bid in for ramirez? If so surely its not the 20m euros quoted?Dubred {Ed002's Note - This is dealt with on the hour every how. Please read the other posts as people are getting sick reading the same answers over and over again.}

No eds, it is not the answers we are sick off. It is these same morons who ask the same questions and don't do any work reading other posts. It's like they want special attention, a pat on the head or the ability to tell their grandmas "Hey look grandma, I first me on the Internet huh huh".

29 Apr 2012 13:18:10
hey eds i know the neymars, lucas mouras, gansos etc will not be happening but do you know of any players that we have scouted and shown any interest in from south america?

cheers :) {Ed002's Note - Aside from the deal with Nacionale over the Academy players there have been a few I am aware of. Liverpool, Benfica and Manchester United have taken a look Uruguayan Santiago Garcia who now plays for Brazilian side Paranaense - but like with many South Americans, there are complications. Liverpool were looking at the player when he was still playing for Nacional in Uruguay last year. This predates Diego Caniggia joining Liverpool but no doubt he is well aware of the situation. The major issue surrounds Garcia failing a drug test (Columbian Nose Candy) following Nacional's Uruguayan cup final victory back in June somehime. However, because the process for conducting drug tests in Uruguay is not regulated or approved any ban he would be given cannot be ratified by the authorities and therefore is only applicable in Uruguay where he no longer plays.
Teo Gutierrez was at one time watched by Caniggia. Diego Caniggia took a look at Ocampos on behalf of Liverpool but it was decided that he would be too expensive to buy.}

29 Apr 2012 13:13:56
Hey eds,

Any chance we can get Ray Wilkins in some sort of role? I think he'd be very good.

I've heard he likes a bacon roll.

I think we should go for 2 of Dempsey, Hoilet, Sessengnon, Pienaar and Moses they are proven premiership performers and would be within our budget and available.

Think there is better players out there myself we should be trying tio sign

Gylfi Sigurosson should be a definite for me. James McCarthy is also another decent one...and Demba Ba is looking a bit lost out on the wing at Newcastle. If Villa go down then maybe Bent will be available for cheap?

-Shane.

Moses looks good? Only half a season though? don't think any of the others.
kidmillions

Yeah there are better players but not ones that will sign for us. we lose out on allot of top players due to no champs league football. we are sorely lacking creativity other than Stevie and Suarez. Dempsey is quality he scores and creates goals aplenty for fulham imagine what he could do around better players. we need some pace and skill in wide areas and i think Hoilet and Moses could solve that problem

We don't need any of them! We need two high class players! Striker and winger!

Yeah id go for them too, not shore we would get pienarr thow ha

We tried going for premiership proven in the summer and look were that got us! We need world class quality players!

29 Apr 2012 12:58:38
Hi Eds,

Quick question about transfer timings. Do you think managers & clubs will wait till after the Euros (July 1) to do most business or will this just be a free for all during the entire summer? {Ed002's Note - Much will depend where the players are moving to and from. The window does not open at the same time everywhere.}

Ed/s, do you think that liverpool have made a down payment on jackson martinez? {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of any down payment and would suspect not.}

29 Apr 2012 12:44:45
Hello ed's I know macca has said that munain, susaeta and soldado may be the main targets for the summer but who in your opinions are the top transfer targets? eg players or positions?? {Ed002's Note - A right sided forward and a striker. There does appear to be interest in buying a central midfield player as well.}

Why spend millions on Muniain, when we have Sterling. We will only spend Millions on a goalscorer or two. Don't you people ever read the script. We have the best crop of youngsters we have had in a long time and you want to block their path.
kidmillions

Have we shown interest in any CM's besides Milan Badelj that you know of ed ?

Cheers {Ed002's Note - Corgnet.}

If this crop of youngsters is so good then why aren't any of them in the 1st team?? Don't say there too young because if you're good enough you're old enough

Gaston ramirez, muniain, rasmus elm and de jong and i will be happy.

Actually that's not true there is a certain age requirement before jumping into the first team so it isn't a question of "if you're good enough you're old enough"

29 Apr 2012 12:42:23
Ed do you still think kenny will go at the end of the season? {Ed002's Note - I think there is a reasonable chance.}

Ed would u say he is more likely to stay or go? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function. I recall that this was covered once before.}

Nobody knows? My guess is he'll stay.
2 Cup finals possibly 2 Trophys he might even get Manager of the Year.

Watch out ed, watching the Madrid game and the commentators have spoken about Mourniho's list of players he wants to move on, Higauin, Kaka and Albiol rumours will no doubt be in abundance soon.

They also talked about VDV, Sniejder and Robben and how they are a good club to buy from. Possibly Granero and Diarra on that list, possible or not?

ben {Ed002's Note - I think we have covered all of those players already - as for the two you mention specifically: Granero is surplus to long-term requirements in Madrid and will likely leave the summer. Granero could interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla back in January but unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well but there is no confirmation of either clubs interest.

Anzhi made a very significant offer for Diarra and Roma could not realise their interest although the player was open to a move to Rome. This leaves Galatasaray as the very likely destination for him.}

Eds great site since I found it there has not been a day I haven't read it. I was wondering in your view if kenny does go and a new manager does come in are most of our transfer targets likely to change due to what the manager wants and same to go for the new dof when appointed?

And name one player west ham let go that turned out anygood lol

29 Apr 2012 11:50:27
Also ed unsure if this is old news but I heard the other day that Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Shaqiri, would that mean someone like Ribery is likely to leave? He had a bust up with Robben recently so would you say it is likely he will leave? Not specifically to Liverpool?

ben {Ed002's Note - Shaqiri is moving to Bayern. Ribery interests Real Madrid but Robben may be more likely to move. AC Milan have a long term interest in him and Palermo are looking at players of his ilk as part of their extensive rebuilding.}

NOO! Just read Marko Marin is a done deal....For Chelsea. Really hoped we would sign him.

Eds, any idea reg the transfer fee?

YNWA
Carl {Ed002's Note - In the region of 8.5M euros plus some add ons. So about £7M.}

Why? He's mot the player he was a year or so ago. Why do you think he went for 7 million? We didnt get him because we didnt want him. I for one didn't.

29 Apr 2012 11:41:31
Liverpool back in talks with moussa sissoko's agent. And eds do you believe the story that we will be handed just 20 million this summer or do u think this is just reports i mean there is no quotes to say this? Thats pretty poor i am guesing these are what people think because of the £60 million last summer but we need to keep going forward i mean buying one or two players of like a £10 million quality isnt drastically going to change much and another season outside top 4 it would depress me all summer. Interesting quote from kenny though that there is money to spend which could be from rauls transfer or commercially there is mOney to spend so it could be from £20 mill plus sales including raul merieles and wen we get rid if cole aqualani we will be closer to £40 mill wats ur take? {Ed002's Note - I am not going to comment on the reported £20M budget.}

29 Apr 2012 11:31:03
Paris Saint-Germain have made Liverpool's 25-year-old forward Luis Suarez - plus Real Madrid pair Kaka, 30, and Gonzalo Higuain, 24 - their primary summer transfer targets.

The Spanish media, AS and Marca respectively, are fairly confident that PSG can land the Real Madrid pair, however the potential of landing Suarez is not as certain,

Liverpool have made it clear that they have no intentions of allowing Suarez to leave, but the money that PSG can throw around may be too much of a temptation for Liverpool to ignore, additionally Suarez may find the lure of Champions League football (PSG almost certain to qualify) too much to resist.

Have heard psg are nailed on with suarez and modric!

Suarez is Happy at Liverpool. Where he will win lots of medals and become a true legend. Would you leave Lfc to play for psg nobodies.
kidmillions

I love the way PSG is becoming the big spender of the market (in spanish, italian and english media), i think we should try to send them Andy Carroll + Aquilani + Joe Cole.lol {Ed002's Note - They have an interest in two Liverpool players so perhaps not as funny as you think.}

29 Apr 2012 11:18:09
Eds what are the chances of Liverpool signing Hoillett, Naldo or Pizarro.

I know you said Bremen are cash strapped so Naldo and Pizarro would be cheap and nice additions to the squad, I believe it would be best for Coates to go out on loan in the prem next season, ie a Southampton, Sunderland like team, where he will do his fair share of defending. Or maybe Swansea, would eradicate his long ball tendencies possibly, although I understand that they would need to be interested.

Also I think Hoillett would be a great squad player for nothing, better than Bellamy, Downing or Kuyt, Fast and tricky so would love him to be in a LFC shirt.

ben {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool in Hoilett at this time. Bolton, Spurs, Sunderland, Newcastle, Stoke, Arsenal and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany, including Bayern Munich, and Marseille from France. I understand that Roma have dropped their interest after an offer of a pre-contract agreemnent was spurned. The English sides were at a disadvantage in the chase for Hoilett now as he is in to the last six months of his contract and he can talk to interested parties from outside of England but as time moves on that is becoming less of an issue. Blackburn will offer him a new deal but I doubt he will be interested, in the same way as a move to Bolton, Aston Villa or Stoke is unlikely. If pushed, I would say North London or foreign shores are the most likely destinations - and I do expect him to leave this summer.

Pizarro is 33 or 34 now and I doubt there is much interest from Liverpool. I expect Naldo will move to Gremio to replace Fernandes who is moving to CSKA.}

Thanks ed, I knew Pizarro was old but didn't know he was in his 30s. Naldo has had a great season so will be sad to see him go to a poor league :D
Sad about Hoillett, I rate him highly but I was just hoping. Thanks for insight.

ben {Ed002's Note - Naldo must be 30 now as well. There is no reason to assume that Liverpool may not become interested in Hoilett at some point. So there is a chance.}

Ed1 thinks hoilett is off to spurs?

None at all.

29 Apr 2012 11:00:38
Eds do we have a chance of getting Welliton? Do you think he would be interested in moving to england? {Ed002's Note - Welliton will be available at the right price but I don't see that Liverpool have any interest in him at this time. Dortmund were interested and a player exchange involving Lewandowski was thought possible in January, but that never happened. I know that there has been interest from Turkey but would suspect that an acceptable offer would see him move to England, Germany or Spain in preference.}

Ed002 how much do you think Welliton would cost?

Also do you know if we were ever interested in Diego last summer. He is up for a free transfer soon.... {Ed002's Note - Perhaps 12M to 14M euros (at a guess). Diego will not be available for free and he is potentially serious trouble.}

29 Apr 2012 10:59:07
You know Kenny only has 20M in the kitty for the summer plus players sales

So buying top notch players is just the stuff of FM

Lol someone should not believe ESPN too much.

They are kings of making up news, Extremely Silly Pretend News if you ask me.

As the eds have said before we do not have a set budget if there is a player that Kenny wants and the owners agree than they will make the money available weather that may be £5m or £50m, so please stop saying we only have £20m available..

hello eds, can u enlighten me plz about situation with kovacic of dinamo zagreb? Is rumor that man city has been given permission to talk with player, is this true, so we can all stop dreaming of him now? Have a great day, cheers...

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and no doubt others have an interest in Dinamo Zagreb's Kovacic. Seen to be one for the future but I suspect that if he does move any time soon he could spend time in Germany gaining experience before a move to one of the more major players in European football. In the summer, Barcelona offered up a small financial payment for Kovacic on what I understand to be an 8 year deal with the first two years contracted to Zagreb followed by a six year deal with Barcelona. This would "overcome" a number of issues with the regulations. However, two clubs have been involved in very recent and ongoing discussions with Dinamo and one has now put an offer up for consideration. I am not going to discuss who the two clubs are.}

Im good friends Mario Situm, and he says that rumours on the training ground is reps from lfc had several meetings there last month, but not knowing who is talking bout, me hoping we dont lose our diamond kovacic yet, sry bad english... {Ed002's Note - Liverpool's interest at Dinamo is in Milan Badelj who was watched twice in March.}

Ive been told by a jurno mate both Kenny will leave and suarez along with Kuyt,Maxi and fabio. Also we will listen to offers for Johnson as the owners think the wage bill should be reduced as should the age of the squad. Its a shame as i want Suarez to stay but i think he will move to a club in the champions league possibly in france with PSG where he's good mate laugano plays. Also the whole backroom staff will go like clarke, the goalkeeping coach and other scouts at the club will be sacked. The owners will really put their stamp on the club this summer. Their main priority is to reduce the age and wage bill at the club.

Who does that leave...

The owners want to save the club money by sacking everyone and giving them all huge pay offs?!
well educated journalist mate you have there pal....

Death of Liverpool FC in that case. Time people grew up and saw it. NESV are just "managing a decline" ie looking to spin off the various assets while milking gullible fans for excessive money.

Getting totaly sick of all the negative comments, the Why did we not bid for marin, another player we lost out on , our rivals etc etc.... Lets go back to lat summer everyone on about lakuku (spelling), well didnt he set the prem on fire this season, I work in a bookmakers, often we get german games broadcast on sis, I have seen marin many times, whilst he is a pacy atticking player, his final delivery is average to say the least, a complete innabillity to track back(something strongly needed in t prem, and although the german league is physical, its not as in your face as the prem. 7/8 million could be seen as a bargain but is lakuku still the bargain you were all saying last summer ?

Jft96 {Ed002's Note - Lukaku is young and not yet ready for the EPL. He is a raw talent but to get the most out of him he needs some experience and will likely spend at least part of next season on loan.}

Exactly (with ED) Lukaku is a kid ..(now don't please tell his age is wrong etc ect because he was born in Belgium) Marin is a steal at that price accept it..As I said this earlier if we bought someone of similar or betetr quality at a decent price I won't complain but just that it looks unlikely the way we have worked in the trasnfer market

I live in Germany and I can tell I that Marin would have been a big mistake! He is not very good at all and u find him pretty useless!

I tend not to make too many speculations but Rafa still has his house by Liverpool and wouldn't be surprised if he comes back next season. By no means guaranteed in anyway, but I personally am not convinced it would be the best for the club.

-Al-

No chance

If Kenny does step down, that has to be top of the list to find his replacment. Someone who already has a house in the area. Maybe if Rafa doesnt get it, it will be either Rush or Cara. Rafas gone get over it.

Gaz

Rafa still had his house when he was inter coach. His kids and wife are settled on merseyside it's got nothing to do with him
Coming back to Liverpool

Hello Ed002,
I am a Pole, know not much more than you but I'd be very surprised if Liverpool were to sign Lewandowski. No doubt that he's got some talent but I doubt he'd do well in EPL. And as Ed says, doubtful that he'll leave Dortmund. If he does, he'll probably go to Munich as he knows the league well now. What's more, his agent's behaviour, I think his name is Cezary Kucharski (a poor striker in his days by the way) is shocking. Don't you try to keep offers quiet? And he keeps on informing the media everything about every TWO offers he heard. Disrespectful. I hope Robert stays in Dortmund, for his sake and Liverpool's. I'd rather see De Jong or van Wolsfinkel in a red shirt next season. Cheers.

Some agents want as much money as possible usually for themselves so they'll try and get people to bid higher

Dear EDS,
Need ur answer on this.

1)Gaston Ramirez played as AMC or AMR/L? He got really good skills and ball control.If it is really LFC that bid 16M+, when the deal will be concluded?
2)Jordan Henderson played more solid when he is at the center midfield. Any chance he will partner with Lucas next season? So Gerrard/Jonjo can play behind striker.
3)Any name in ur mind, right back that play attacking like Glen if he leave? I know mauricio Isla is one of the option.
4)Between Lewandowski and Luuk de Jong, which one is more likely the target? Lewandowski looks more skilled. How much his value?

Anyway, Luis Suarez's 1st hattrick is superb.Last goal is like watching Xabi Alonso shooting from distance.

dtg'LFC {Ed002's Note - (1) The Gaston Ramirez story is an old one being recycled. I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club but would not be at all surprised if a push was made to sign him. He was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. At present, Napoli are very much favourites for his signature. Discussions have now taken place between Bologna and Napoli - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus. And Napoli are very much favourites for his signature at this time. His agent remains as talkative as ever but as of March 30 there has been no offer to Bologna for the player from any English club - and this has been confirmed by his club, and now his agent. (2) I really don't know what will happen about the formation next season. (3) Just Isla. Would you not want to see the younger players given a chance? (4) Both players interest Liverpool but I suspect De Jong is more likely.}

The Daily Mail (fail) and Setanta Sports are both given credit as ''the source'' of the Gaston Ramirez story, depending on what one reads.

From what i can tell, the Daily Mail reported it first and Setanta have decided to run with it (Like the Ed typed; ''recycled.'')

It is pretty much like for like with the same story from the beginning of the season, even the transfer offer/bid of £16.3 million. Also i've read the same old and tired Affelay story.

Conclusion:
Sunday reporting (lazier than the usual reporting).

Ollieston {Ed002's Note - It was March when the story appeared.}

Good day Ed's , i just looked at luuk de jong's stats for this season and i must say i'm impressed , he's 21 , has had more than 20 goals in the dutch league , he's been capped a couple of times for the dutch national team and in my opinion he could be the next robin van persie , van persie joined arsenal around the same age as de jong is and i can just see de jong turning out the same , my question is seeing how we had an interest in him in January , is the interest still there and if so do we have a good chance of signing him?

thanks {Ed002's Note - Interest remains in Luuk De Jong and a chance is there that he will make the move.}

I don't rate De Jong that highly no doubt he can finish but he is so lazy. {Ed002's Note - Let's hope he signs then - it'll give you something to complain about.}

Scoring goals in the Dutch league isn't hard, if you play for Ajax, PSV, AZ etc

Suarez had a world class scoring record but has got 11 in the league, Babel had a great record, so did that Middlesborough guy, and he was shocking.

It is best to judge there performances by Champs league etc as they are better competition, and Eriksen played amazing vs Man U in the Europa League.

(A league which no english club takes seriously, IMO that is so wrong, Spanish, German, Portuguese take it seriously, it is a good tournament hence teams like Porto and Bilbao try in it, players like Munian, Hulk, Falcao, Llorente play in that tournament and obviously not as attractive as the Champs league but those players from foreign countries love it. If we try and win it next season then players will see us as a good team in Europe and an attractive prospect)

ben

The problem I think Ben is that the money available in the Europa league is relativly low, and generally the english clubs that are involved (especially after xmas) are fighting it out for the very lucrative champions league places.
The teams from some of the other leagues do not always have to deal with so much competition at home.
It's just a theory.

Hay Eds,

Just a quick question, it seems that the financial crissis in Portugal is now effecting there football clubs as they are struggling to pay wages. With the situation also prevelant in Spain do you think this may cause some clubs there to have to sell players to balance there books?

Elmo96
LFC FOREVER {Ed002's Note - Certainly some clubs are really struggling financially. Racing Santander, Zaragoza and Betis remain in worst shape.}

Likewise in the Premier League though, they have some trouble. Bolton, Everton and the like are not financially sound, the only country where clubs are consistently stable is Germany. I believe that Liverpool should enforce a German-esque strategy to the club.

ben {Ed002's Note - I don't know what a "German-esque strategy" strategy is. Perhaps you could explain?}

Hi Eds,
i said it before and i'm going to repeat it,
Jackson MARTINEZ and Gaston RAMIREZ are the most likely signings...
Isla,Soldado,Susaeta are other likely signings...
It seems that we'll sign a player from the French Ligue 1.
2 Questions,Eds:
-Is there any interest in Etienne CAPOUÉ of Toulouse.[which clubs are interested in him]?
-How is ISLA injury,and how much time will he spend on the sidelines,is he arleady fit?
Cheers,
Y.N.W.A {Ed002's Note - Etienne Capoue has been of confirmed interest to Tottenham, Schalke, Arsenal and Lyon but Atletico Madrid are pushing hardest for a deal. There is an unconfirmed report of Barcelona showing interest as well. Although there has been interest from Liverpool, the player has suffered a serious so he will need to prove his fitness and will not be playing again this season. Chelsea, Roma, Napoli and PSG are other possibilities for the player, but I suspect Inter may strike a deal including a couple of youngsters going on loan or part ownership to Udinese.}

Ed is it possible that liverpool could buy both muniain and Markel Susaeta? {Ed002's Note - I think it extremely unlikely that Liverpool would buy both players.}

Ed could you give a rough estimation on how much susealta would cost?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Guessing, but perhaps 10M or 12M euros.}

How much would Munian cost, I know it would have been around 15m last season ut didn't he sign a new contract recently excluding his release clause? It would be dumb if they didnt get rid of it after all he could be worth in excess of 35m euros after the Euros if he plays like he did vs Man U etc

ben {Ed002's Note - Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that. If the price comes down to a reasonable level I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Roma interest is still there and rumours abound of Juventus and Malaga interest but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

I find it extremely unlikely we will buy either 1

suarez being sold rumour is just a waste of time. after all the incident that happened still he was talked about contract extension when he has 3-4 years more to go. isnt that to to to early to ask for a contract extension. i dont think liverpool wanna sell him but liverpool fear he might leave after all the treatment he got from media and fans. just my insight need not be true. cheers

Hi eds great site. Just heard from a friend of a friend that the FA are planing on widening the goals next year to help Liverpool avoid hitting the woodwork 31+ times next season lol. On a serious note I thinks it's time for some posters to stop setting the FIFA 12 player search to between 90-99 and pulling player names from there. Was just wondering EDS do u think Liverpool would ever have a interest in Simon cox from WBA I know he dont play that much but he has put in some solid performances for Ireland and keep the head in big games aginst Italy and Russia + he'd be dirt cheap. Thanks
Red mike {Ed002's Note - I don't know of Liverpool interest in any WBA players at this time.}

Only players 90+ on FIFA are Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta and Robben.

All unlikely and haven't seen any linked pal :P

Any new developments on Kagawa Eds? It sounds like he may be moving to united but I'm not sure how accurate that is {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester United, Udinese, Spurs, Villarreal and Valencia, who have shown an interest in Kagawa this past few months. Although Kagawa is considering an extension to his contrac the says that a move to Manchester United would be impossible to turn down. I think that he will probably stay on in Germany next season. Reinhard Rauball has made it clear that there still hasn't been contact with Dortmund from another club, so nothing new.}

29 Apr 2012 02:33:36
Ed have you heard anything on nacer chadli?

Love the site keep it up {Ed002's Note - Spurs, Bayern Munich, Lyon, Everton and Lille were all interested in Chadli, but he will almost certainly move to Fulham.}

Is it a don deal with Fulham ED002? Sigh I hate to say this but I am now jealous of Fulham's attacking players Dembele Dempsey Frei Kasemi the Swedish kid we gave them,Bryan Ruiz etc {Ed002's Note - Not a "done deal" yet but very likely to happen. I suspect at least one of those other players will be leaving.}

29 Apr 2012 01:11:52
Why is it when we want to buy someone we have to pay triple the amount and when someone else comes in to buy a quality person they get them dirt cheap... if the rumours are true and Marin has signed for Chelsea for only 7m... thats a quality purchase....

Anyway I wanted to congratulate Suarez on a fantastic performance and Shelvey and Hendo on a good work shift. They will put pressure on KK for a starting birth on Saturday. Spearing will be worried :)

Speedy

Maybe thats why comolli got the boot!

Chelsea pay with Hard cash, Bremen needed he money ASAP as they are in need of the money. I understand that Liverpool operate like many other clubs across the world and don't pay in cash but over time ala Aquilani.

If Spearing doesn't play on Saturday I will be disappointed. We can't go gung ho against a team of Chelsea's calibre.

Liverpool are looking to offload Stewart Downing and Glen Johnson (around £30mil the pair) in the summer to boost transfer funds. New transfer targets include Ryan Jarvis, Grant Hanley, Gaston Ramirez, Junior Hoilet, Joe Allen, Clint Dempsey, Jackson Martinez Iker Munain, and Roberto Soldado.

Cranberry Juice

Ryan Jarvis, the guy on loan at torquay United from walsall. are you sure??
think you may have had your cranberry juice spiked

Glen has been great this season. No reason to get rid of him.
Downing has been poor, but I doubt LFC could get more than £10m for him, big loss.
Allen, Jarvis, Hanely, and Hoilett are not good enough/ Simple

I take it there was vodka in that Cranberry Juice? a s**tload of it.

Clint Dempsey is not a target, he doesnt fit our transfer policy he is too old. Tired of hearing him linked with us. Hoillet is more likely to go to Spurs than anywhere near Merseyside!

Where do theses rumours come from?

Forget about the last two signing...no chance we can attract them

It sounded very pleasing to here Downing and offload in the same sentance but then you mention the average dross that replaces him...its people like you, with little ambition that's bringing the club under

Okey the last 3 names coming in sound pretty good but the rest are average at best....still don't believe this s**t though

Junior Hoillett is far better than Jackson Martinez

ben

Hoillett is good enough and theres no point in getting rid of downing it will be a lose for us as we wont get any where near what we paid, and im sure he will find form, you have to support the players not slag them off all the time!

28 Apr 2012 23:36:09
Hey Eds I've been reading the site a lot recently and I've seen a lot of rumours concerning Glen Johnson's future at our club. I was just wondering, Is there anything behind these rumours, and if so, who would be a replacement as I think both Kelly and Flanagan (moreso Flanagan) are not ready and of the same attacking calibre as Johnson. Thanks, keep up the good work {Ed002's Note - Isla was looked at in January - perhaps the club will go back for him.}

Hi Eds, just wondering what the deal is with johnson, why wood we want to off load him anyway dont think hes that bad. Or are there other reasons? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what is happening with Glen Johnson.}

Agree....Kelly though is worryingly injury prone but a great prospect nonetheless. I would be concerned whether Flanagan will make it at the top level

Flanagan is 19 years and old and put Balotelli and to a certain extent David Silva firmly in his back pocket in his first game. He'll be fine.

jus been told that fowler is in discussions with lfc about taking up a coaching role next season. no idea if true, but my mate has bet £100 on it today based on where he got this "info" from.

If possible tell your friend to get a refund

Todays performance aside, someone does need to show our forwards how to find the back of the net and who better than God himself.

ChrisE

Didn't know the bookies took bets on next liverpool coach!! He might want to check his docket in case its next liverpool manager in which case he will need that refund...oops

Summer ins
moussa sissoko (solid centre mid)
junior hoilett or dries mertens (quality wingers)
roberto soldado (quality finisher)
milan badelj (up and coming attacking midfielder)

28 Apr 2012 23:50:38
Realistic Transfers:

Wing:Moses/Hoilett/Drenthe
Striker:Soldado/Lewandowski/Luuk De Jong
Playmaker:Ramirez/Elm/Muniain
Centre Back:Godin/Dede
Full Back:Isla/Clyne

Playmakers, haha - all 3 are like Juan Mata, they are wings with a bit of creativity that for some reason are put in the center spot. if Aquilani is coming back and with the good play by Shelvey we won't need another center midfielder

^that said, we still need wings so get Ramirez + Elm/Muniain/Susaeta

Drenthe r u havin a laugh

Oh deary me somebody who thinks Aquilani is good, oh well must explain why AC Milan and Juventus have decided to extend his loan too permanent. Also explains why so many clubs have made bids, about 3m should be able to buy him but people are not interested.

Juan Mata's best performances have come from the centre he is a play maker, Munian and Elm are similar in that they drift around the front man and Ramirez is a wide player.

Isla is injured and Clyne looks set for Utd.

Hoillett for a free would be a bargain squad player, Drenthe is not good at all, selfish and worse version of Balotelli. Moses needs first team football hence Liverpool are not going to sign him.

Why do we need Godin, an average defender at best or Dede, a decent player similar to David Luiz but nontheless we have Skrtle, Agger and Coates.

Hi ed, quick question.

Have liverpool still got an interest in moussa sissoko?

I know DC has left/sacked and that may have changed a few things but is there any chance we may go for him in the summer?

Also what abot Marek Hamsik? I see people are dreaming of cavani but what about this guy? Any interest from liverpool in him?

Thanks

Matt {Ed002's Note - I don't know if Liverpool do have interest in Sissoko. Hamsik is not an option.}

Have you seen these quotes from Sissoko Ed mate? Taken after Toulouse's defeat to Monpellier on Friday night.

"I have had contact with English clubs, notably Liverpool. But I preferred to commit my future to Toulouse. That's were I have been educated and will gain more experience"

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I have explained on numerous that Damien Comolli let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard but for some reason Liverpool failed to make the final push in the summer. Perhaps he has gotten tired of waiting.}

Im glad Hamsik is not an option his commitment on the pitch is terrible at times, Loses the ball and then spits the dummy out ed.

gee man {Ed023's Note - I agree, there's much better options available}

Eds, im not saying i would want hamsik at lfc or anything but why would he not be an option? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have no interest in him and he has signed a new contract.}

I've just read that....

Apparently ''Liverpool are on ''red alert'' now that Robert Lewandowski has rejected Borussia Dortmund's contract extension offer.''

Lewandowski's agent said ''the offer was not acceptable compared to the other top players at Dortmund.''

Lewandowski has scored 22 goals and 8 assists in 32 League games this season.

Any new news or legs to this rumour Ed's ? Or just a recycled rumour taking a twist with a contract extension rejection made public by an agent, an agent who's primary job is to get his client the best (biggest) contract possible...?

Ollieston

Cheers Ed's. {Ed002's Note - Dortmund's Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, Rubin Kazan, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton) and Lille. I very much suspect Bayern Munich would be top of the list with a cheque in hand should he not agree an extension at Dortmund. At present they have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal but that does not mean that they won't.}

There is almost 0% chance that he Dortmund will sell him to Bayern Munich, they would prefer the sell him for less but not the their rivals {Ed002's Note - I am sure that is the case but Bayern would be interested.}

29 Apr 2012 00:06:30
Eds isnt 8 mil for marin a little too cheap??is there a catch in the deal??or is the player overrated and the deal justifies the actual talent?? {Ed002's Note - There will no doubt be an add on or two.}

I believe romelu lukaku also gos that way for a loan.... {Ed002's Note - There is no agreement for that to happen, but he will be going on loan.}

29 Apr 2012 00:03:17
Don't worry liverpool fans. Liverpool will not waste money like last year. I think they will buy more quality foreign players. but don't be suprised if you don't know them that well as we can't attract players from the bigger clubs. gaston Ramirez and Jackson Martinez look like our most likely signings. 20 mil for the pair. will probably be more effective than all of ast years signings.

I agree. They can't be much worse than Suarez and Enrique. And what were we thinking about by getting the England U21 captain and Coates (a future Uruguay captain and winner of best young player of Copa America)? Oh yeah, forgot about Bellamy on a free transfer? We did so bad in last years transfer market. We really are a terrible team.

I hate to say it, but he is right

Yeah we wasted a lot of money on henderson, downing ect hopefully it won't happen again

I really can't believe the amount of agrees to this post. Let's go spend another 100 million and when those players fail to settle in in the first 20 minutes of there 1st match let's chastise them as being mediocre as well. This season we have built up the spine of the team. There's barely a single critic out there that doesn't agree that with a few top class additions we will be right up there next season.
We had an amazing game last night with 3 brilliant goals from one of last years "rubbish buys" with solid performances from the other "rubbish buys".

"Rome wasn't built in a day"

Tristan

Actually rome was built in a day

Suarez wasn't a rubbish buy, neither was bellamy, enrique or coates but some were this is what iam saying. henderson carrol andn downing will never be good enough they are just a waste

Last years window was bad. lets get some flair and a clnical edge.

We have been in the rebuilding process for two seasons next summer will be the third. it can't take that long.

side note: have you guys seen downing when someone scores a goal he celebrates for like 5seconds then walks away but in that 5 seconds of celebration he doesn't interact with the players at all it seems awkward like he isn't apart of the team.

29 Apr 2012 00:02:59
Liverpool believed to be keen to bring Poland international striker to Anfield.
Liverpool are thought to be readying a bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski after the 23 year-old turned down the offer of a new contract to stay at Signal Iduna Park. Is this true? {Ed002's Note - Dortmund's Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, Rubin Kazan, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton) and Lille. I very much suspect Bayern Munich would be top of the list with a cheque in hand should he not agree an extension at Dortmund. At present they have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal but that does not mean that they won't.}

28 Apr 2012 23:55:21
It's looking more and more likely that we're going to sign Jackson Martinez and Gaston Ramirez this summer.

The Mole

Martinez has been hardly prolific in Mexico and nothing I see about him AT ALL sets him apart from a run of the mill striker...

Ed002, I just noticed you mentioned there are other deals that have been agreed in principle like Marko Marin to Chelsea. i.e, Olic to Wolfsburg and Ninis to Parma. Can you remember anyother such agreements? Just a little curious ;)

AG {Ed002's Note - Podolski to Arsenal is another.}

Reus to dortmund {Ed002's Note - Yes, another that is agreed.}
