Milan have said they have to sell AGAIN in January. Any chance of Alexandre Pato? (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Jackass!

and they have to sell to reduce squad size, not raise funds. pato is not a fringe player and will never ever play for liverpool so will everyone stop bringing him up

Pato is available for 25 mill and has been for last two years.

Would we have any interest in Taraabt? Not sure if hed be up for a relegation battle and if Im not mistaken Harry is not his biggest fan. I think he could be a great foil for Suarez he seems to have that sort of creativity we could need to unlock defences

UEFA are considering merging the Champions League and Europa League so the top seven will get through have a look at this on Yahoo.

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/champions-league-uefa-discussing-changes-club-competitions-114113908.html

Would be good for us, do you think?

Yvonne

Yeah it would, if we ever made top 7......

Does it say its merging the bottom 7 teams as well then

At this rate we'll be lucky to finish in the top 7 for the foreseeable future.

We won't finish in the top 7 in the near future.........now let the slating begin by blind Liverpool fans
Kp

Absolutely not.
UEFA are taking the piss with this bright spark. How about just scrapping league football altogether and having a proper Champions League. Every team plays 5 million games in the group stages and then plays a round robin tournament until one team has not died of exhaustion, thus becoming the winner. The next day the next one begins. UEFA should bring back the CWC and not let none champions on the Champions League. I have my proposal as follows:

Champions League: league winners and current holders only.

Cup Winners Cup: domestic cup winners and holders if not qualified for CL in which case the runners up qualify (in the unlikely case that both finalists have qualified for the CL, then the semi-finalists play in a play-off)

Europa League: runners up from each league who have not qualified for CWC and an additional place for the 5 main European leagues BPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A & Ligue 1.

This will of course never happen due to the fact that money has completely ruined football and you do not have to win the league to enter the Champions League, I am not being ungrateful for Istanbul though.
Scouse_Pride

It would be terrible for us as the top 7 will pull away from us.

FSG would never pay the money to get us in the top half of the table, let alone top seven. Sooner they sell to committed owners, the better.

Only thing FSG are going to sell is Suarez in January. Agree we need to get rid of these ambitionless Americans asap. They never had the means or intention of funding LFC. They thought they could splash £100m and get back in champs league then would all just fall into place. Clearly not Yonks out Arabs in.

Yonks out Arabs in?

Wow, the "yonks" bailed us out and have invested heavily; aside from the council then work would have started on a new stadium. They have brought in a manager who knows something about modern day football and got rid of their mistake of Dalglish and Commoli; two men who spent over 50m on two terrible English players.

If you take a quick google search to see how influential Malagas "SUPER RICH" arabs turned out? Oh thats right they got bored of their little toy and refused to pay wages or invest anymore; hence sales of Cazorla and inevitably Isco.

Just because City have a committed owner means nothing.

Ben

Hoorible! 32 teams is just right, still too many, but 32 is good footy.. And i am a Yank.. 64. I have no inclination to see a 7th place Prem team, vs a 6th Place La Liga, or Serie A team!

Liverpool at advanced stage to sign Tom Ince says Barrett on The Times. you no if this is fact eds? {Ed002's Note - I am told by someone who has only recently been involved at Blackpool that Tom Ince has attracted the attention of a number of clubs most notably Manchester United and Liverpool. I don't know if a bid has been made or not. }

This gets better , we sell him and buy him back for even more money , does the club know how the transfer system works ffs

Just shows how KK not only wasted lots of money but also got rid of good player that he could have used

Hi Eds,

Hendo's started back-to-back games recently - with Jan coming up, is this for the benefeit of any window shoppers, or do you think Rogers has changed his mind about letting Hendo leave if a buyer comes in?

cheers,

Dr. Sanchez {Ed002's Note - I would not expect him to leave in January.}

28 Nov 2012 20:32:27
Anybody have a good link for a live stream of the game?

Hendo is a good player who could become better. I am more concerned about Gerrard's lack of input this season. He has been poor and I hate myself for saying it but he is now behind Shelvey in my peckin' order.
Awful season. It would be easy to point fingers at Rodgers, but I honestly think Liverpool will be a very good side next year. The youngsters are the best in the premiership and we will get a few new quality faces come summer.
Hold tight guys, ride it out & reap the rewards next year.

Kevin W

God help us then!

Henderson is awful and needs to go

Terrine player useless manager who players a crap left winger at left back both need to go

Instead of all slating the players and manger try going to a game and get behind the players,i seen Henderson play against young boys the other week and he was good,put in 100% ,Brendon rogers is a good manager ,not many around like him ,just wait and see what happens over the next few seasons,i for one know it will work out for the good of the club. AMEN !

I bet you said the same about lucas and tom ince , the lad is a good player he needs games , the best would be to loan him out to get game time

Everytime he plays his value drops by 20%

Holy rubbish I wish people would leave henderson alone as a poster above stated you people turned on Lucas now he is our great hope hell be like a new signing etc .
Then you turned on Enrique now he's the new bale if you don't like the lad then Shut up and if you don't like the team then go support some one else .
Rodgers will get it right if given time by the fans and henderson will be a great player hopefully at us but if not then it will be our loss.
Peace. Ynwa

Some of the posters on here get worse every game, their value is nil.

Hi Eds, Great site by the way.
Any chance of us getting Zaha in the window, as i reckon he would fit straight into BR plans for how he wants us to play and would push for a starting place immediately. Compared to Zaha going somewhere like Chelsea or City where he would just warm the bench.
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Crystal Palace will look to hold on to Zaha until the summer and if they get promoted perhaps after that too. He was to be allowed to move this past summer at the right price with Sunderland, West Ham and Reading look possible destinations. Liverpool have certainly looked at Zaha in the past but there is strong interest from Arsenal. Game time will no doubt be a factor in the short-term.}

Question for ed001,

Is there any truth to us being interested in Cardozo? I said when Kenny was in charge I'd like to see him at Liverpool and really feel he would be a good fit for us, can play anywhere across the front as rodgers wants.

Nevada {Ed002's Note - Ed001 is not around and he may still be suffering from floods where he lives so you are stuck with me. Zenit have shown an interest in Oscar Cardoza and Liverpool had someone watch him in Washington DC during August. But for me it seems likely he will sign a new contract at Benfica.}

Is ed001 from st aspah?

Apples ;96; {Ed001's Note - no. Unfortunately further south these days.}

Ahh right, im from St Asaph and our community has been really badly affected. I hope the floods have passed your way and all is well with yourself Ed001.

Apples ;96; {Ed002's Note - It is a great pity that you are suffering. I stayed in St Asaph once and it is a pretty neat little city.}

Vitesse Arnham have issued a hands off warning to clubs interested in Liverpool target Wilfred Bony.

Benfica will listen to offers about misfit forward Nolito. Liverpool are rumoured to be interested in the 26 year old who has fallen down the pecking order under Jorge Jesus.

YNWA Derek P

Bony nobody knows who he is. Let's get Bent

Tell me, why would Liverpool be interested in a benfica striker that's 3rd or 4th in the pecking order.thats the same as asking Celtic could we look at there 3rd striker.is that how highly ya rate LFC at the moment picking up 3rd or 4th rate strikers from amateur clubs. Will ya get a grip for god sake.

Won't bony be going to african nations, would be bad time to buy him.

This guy is very physical and skillful. definitely can adapt well to EPL. His sheer presence can shake off heaps of defenders and win lots of headers + goals hopefully

Eds and other guys,
how do judge this guy? he's a monster (strength, skill, two foot, heading, quite pacy) imo and will sure score goals at highest level

With Milan admitting they will have to sell even more players in January would El Sharaawy be an option?

WicklowRed {Ed002's Note - PSG and Cologne have shown an interest in El Shaarawy but Real Madrid may well look to strike a deal with Milan sooner rather than later.}

Hey ed, isnt colonge in bundesliga's second division ? {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Milan would much rather sell Pato, there are some at Milan who have been impressed with El Sharaawy's determination and application. They feel him as still having something to offer. Though a recent financial policy change now sees milan as a selling club at the right price.

Nevada {Ed002's Note - They spent a great deal in the summer and are being seen to underperform. Certainly Pato and Robinho remain for sale and the club remain in the market for replacements.}

Better Milan players than el shawwary. Robinho

Eds how much would El Shaarawy cost, maybe around the £10m - £15m mark, he would fit in with the owners and style of play, wages wouldn't be excessive either unlike Pato.

BigD {Ed002's Note - I would think the figure is about right - but note that Liverpool has no interest in him.}

Hey Eds:
Do you believe that Loic Remy is a possible target for LFC? I believe that we would suit the system fine and would do very well here.
My hope for the window is that 1 or 2 players in to help up top and 1 player for help at the back. Hoping that the [Ince & Walcott] rumors pan out and both end up at LFC. The team is looking good, but help would only make them stronger for a Top 4/6 push. Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle and Lille have shown varying degrees of interest in Loic Remy but there have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Remy from Liverpool. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to England but his recent form has been poor and Marseille know it will be difficult to get a good price for the player. There was discussion with Chelsea about Remy during the negotiations over Azpilicueta but it came to nothing. Newcastle will likely make a low offer for Remy in January.}

Noo. Walcott and bent needed

Think Remy's signing or more importantly, Aubameyang's signing would be massive for the club both short/long term

Afternoon EDs do we still have intrest in David Texeira

REDAN {Ed002's Note - There was reported interest in Texeira last January - now, I don't know of any.}

Eds,
Read news today that LFC being linked to new alonso, Benat. Any truth?
I think Benat can be use to alternate with Allen.
Hendo can be use to alternate with Lucas.
Hw much his value?

thanx Eds for great site.

Harkin. {Ed002's Note - If, as is likely, Benat moves Atletico Madrid is an option. Arsenal and Wolfsburg have shown some interest in him. Txiki Begiristain has, as reported, an interest in taking him to Manchester City.}

Don't need any more central midfielders. Already got Sahin, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson and Lucas

28 Nov 2012 13:13:05
Hi eds great site,any chance of us signing mkhitryan(spelling) from Shankar?bang on form,young would fi perfectly into BR formation?thx {Ed002's Note - Shakhtar's Mkhitaryan is of interest to Lazio and Juventus but is unlikely to move in January.}

28 Nov 2012 12:52:58
ed iv heard well sign carlos gruezo and de la cruz in the next few days, is this true? {Ed002's Note - No.}

28 Nov 2012 11:49:40
Hi Eds what are the loan players we are looking at? What are the chances of getting someone who will be an immediate prolific impact? {Ed002's Note - The only player that I know Liverpool has made an approach for regarding a loan id Jeffren.}

28 Nov 2012 05:40:07
Eds,

-Heard Scott Sinclair will be allow to leave if he want.
Any interest from Liverpool since he's been working with ROdgers before.

-Also is it true talk to re-sign Tom Ince is currently at advance stage? How much money we need to pay less than other clubs?

thanks.

Jameel Shariff. {Ed002's Note - Scott Sinclair will not be going anywhere in January. I am told by someone who has only recently been involved at Blackpool that Tom Ince has attracted the attention of a number of clubs most notably Manchester United and Liverpool. I don't know if a bid has been made or not.}

A lot of people moaning about resigning him saying he is not good enough and his dad is whatever etc I've not seen much of him but surely we need some back up for Sterling with Downing not fancied, do any eds who have seen him rate him or is it all hype over a few good games

We are owed 35% of any transfer fee, so in effect... 35%.

This however means they would still be able to just jack his fee up by 35% and get more money for him that way...I cant see him being that expensive though - 4m maybe? its still a 'gamble' in many ways, despite his obvious talent.

Never mind Scott Sinclair I'll have his girlfriend Helen Flanaghan

Liverpool are in talks with blackpool over re-signing thomas ince. Philly.

I wonder if the eds have any info on this rumour as ive heard it quite alot over the last 2 weeks. {Ed002's Note - Again: I am told by someone who has only recently been involved at Blackpool that Tom Ince has attracted the attention of a number of clubs most notably Manchester United and Liverpool. I don't know if a bid has been made or not.}

downing in straight swap for bent watch this space

I would take that

I would also take that

And I too, would take that

I am watching but nothing's happened yet........:

Think this deal would suit both players.

Get rid of downing, and not bent please!

Straight swaps don't really happen anymore.

JCS

This makes perfect sense but Swap deals rarely if ever happen..
Both teams over paid for both players... Neither are worth more than 10m and neither are really wanted by their current clubs/managers.
We need a striker and bent scores goals.. Not my first choice but id take him for now!
ItsNotRocketScience

Straight swap for Bent? Is Dyke doing the paperwork?

Not Bent! Awful player.

When you say "watch this space", is that the space that Bent is meant to be in and usually isn't?

Please no

There is interest in downing so sell him and buy someone decent

Bent is an awful old school English CF.....awful touch.......one of those guys like crouch who you don't understand how the hell they got the record they got

It may work short term but doesn't if you're planning a system to allow you to compete at the top level

Shushyboy

I don't see it happening but it'd be a good deal if it worked out. It'd be nice to have a few options up front. Anyone who says Bent is an awful player doesn't watch much footy.

~Fresh

Bent is the sort of players that can't perform against the top clubs (i.e Champions' League football) but he is very efficient when it comes to those mid-table to relegating teams and we need the 3 points against those teams to get into Champions' League.

A straight swap for him with Downing? I don't really fancy that idea, unless we can get a replacement for Downing.
