You mean the same Michael Owen who decided to leave Liverpool FC, after Liverpool FC broke the bank, literally signing the manager he wanted: Benitez.

Michael Owen the footballer died when he signed for Manchester United. All that is left is an empty shell of a former footballer.

Now he's being spat out by United and wants to come back to Liverpool to see out his career.

Owen should take a pay cut and play for Fulham. Murphy and Riise could keep him company as they are still both quality, (Murphy became the new Gary McAllister for me, when he marched Fulham to the Uefa Cup Final.)

With Dempsey exit bound, Fulham might have the space, Jol is a very good manager.

Umm, Michael Owen still has a great record and he still has a lot of talent. I would welcome him back, especially as he was a childhood hero of mine.

BthekingB {Ed001's Note - he is a horrible little brat who forced Houllier to choose between him and God, that alone is enough to ensure he should never be welcomed back to Anfield. Let alone his greed, arrogance and the way he forced the club to sell him.}

I beleive fulham has too much class to take in a player like owen, and fulham is a great team who were smart enough to snap up murphy and more recently risse

Scum in so many ways, the farther he is from the club the better. Eff off to China where he can see out his career with the paycheck he's always wanted away from the fans he never cared for.

PDUK

Anyone even thinking having that despicable creature back at our club deserves the Judas. Nearly as bad as the owners treating Kenny like they did...

You said Owen wanted Benitez? Thats why Benitez outed him at the 1st chance he got?
If Owen came back and scored goals for us would you seriously not cheer the goal? {Ed016's Note - Benitez didn't oust him. Owen played around with contract negotiations for months and then asked to stay on the bench so he wouldn't get cup tied for the Champions league. Ironic thing is we then went on to win it. Owen is a failure. Left Liverpool and failed, had his little stint pretending to still be a footballer at United and is now just in it for the pay day.}

He is not good enough to get into Fuhams team, oh yes and he is a little tw@t

Agreed. Owen is a failure. He could have been one of the greats at any club. At the age that he started with us he could have easily surpassed Alan Shearer but his arrogance was his downfall. He is now just a lazy stable boy! I'll never know how you can go to work every day with people like Scholes and Giggs and not have their attitude rub off on you. He had his chance last summer to be a footballer again when his contract was up at Man U. He'll never get it back, he'll sign for QPR or somebody on stupid wages and he'll live out the rest of his career on the treatment room.
RealisticRed
P.s. I hate that guy!

Here here, Ed016!

Truly incredible people want him back, without taking the fact he's a glory hunting fool, the fact he's a crock and 32 should put us off him anyway. He's wasted his career, long may he look at his medals, he may aswell have bought them off Ebay for all the input he made towards getting them. Why would you celebrate something you had nothing to do with.

Hey Ed's is there any sort of confirmation that Henry and Lerner is in the country tomorrow?
Owen {Ed002's Note - No.}

I think you mean Werner? To get our owners mixed up with that tool at Villa is just completelu disrespectful. Rnady Lerner is what H+G were for us.

Are Liverpool intrested in matias suarez? Thanks

I hope so.

28 May 2012 21:05:25
It's Chelsea for Hazard

Tool time with Torres and Hazard.

He'll fit just fine with the rest of those muppets

The money-grabbing person should fit in nicely there

Dont count on it m8 till he actually signs he problably go on t**tter in the morning saying hes signing for tesco if they offer him enough

I could care less about this muppet. Hope he becomes a flop like Torres

Who cares?

28 May 2012 21:02:43
anyone else glad that we never had a chance of signing eden hazard. Yes he may be a great player but he has shown already that he is after the money and nothing else just last week he said im going to manchester, then chelsea pop their head round the door and offer him the biggest wage bill and he goes running to them. il give him a few years in the premier league then he will go running abroad for that little bit more.

Does this mean Fat Frankie and rudeboy JT will have their salaries upped and brought in line with Hazards......more money than sense that russian has

All 3 teams could have offered him as much as they wanted and he had agreed terms with all 3 teams, he went to chelsea because he'll get more playing time

Lol Man City probably offered the best contract, but he had no intentions of Chelsea until the Champions League win. Out of the 3 Chelsea can promise him starts but between the other 2 he has: Nani, Young, Valencia, Nasri, Silva, Johnson to fight with who are all top class wingers IMO. Honestly after he turns 26 his contract will expire and you never know where he will go (assuming Chelsea start droping) but I think he will become as good, if not better then Ronaldo.

Dont be sour , good luck to him ... we are not at the level to sign these players we just have to face upto it .. we just have to find these type of players before others do.

Seriously, you are making your club sound like a whinning baby with all this venom directed toward to chelsea and hazard. FACT...Liverpool would love a player of this quality at anfield and would have wanted him to realise his full potential if he had. But instead you hope he flops, he's a money grabber etc.....
i'd wager all the trophies at anfield that all supporters of liverpool would have the overhyped,overrated hazard over charlie adams,henderson,downing etc. GET REAL!! {Ed001's Note - not true, any one of the other editors will tell you that I did not, and do not, want the media whore anywhere near my club. I would prefer him to have gone somewhere other than Chelsea, not because I have anything against them, but because I don't want to hear about him any more.}

I hope he does rubbish, he said he would name where he was going at 4 and 200,000 twitter followers later he still hadnt

One day we'll land players like hazard.

I have always been an admirer of the guy, he'll be a great footballer. He'll have the same impact as Ronaldo did but i'm glad he didn't come to LFC hes got a massive ego and he's just another money grabbing player.

Who wants a player who is going for the money and not for the club, he touted himself about like a prossy in Kings Cross.

He doesn't deserve a fans adoration as he'll never give it back, will always be looking for the sweeter deal.

Media and camera whore!!!!!!

Just another "winker" to the English league.

Eda fellow reds , looks like we are being left behind again due to owners pissing around ,arsenal , Chelsea signing top players and we couldnt sign an autograph,same old same old ,we might sign a manager by August 15 th if lucky .cheers psv {Ed002's Note - Trust them PSV - it'll be fine in the end - perhaps a year or so more grief first.}

We were never in for the players Chelsea and Arsenal are signing so we didn't miss out on anyone

Barry 1243

Yeap although wouldnt class as top player Diames interview on Sky confirms what youve said

Personally I'd be alarmed if they did make hasty decisions and throw more money around without structure or planning. We have to rebuild - as in REALLY rebuild - not just p#$% more money away for the sake of it. If this doesn't take time, I'll be certain we'll never be back where we belong.

Yet another miserable negative minded so called supporter.Where do they all come from.

Look those defending fsg likes of Whelan,lawro,to name but two cant all be wrong!-Clueless {Ed001's Note - I agree, Whelan and Lawrenson are clueless.....}

28 May 2012 21:00:35
Eds, view on Hazard joining Chelsea?

Money related or first team football all the time that maybe he wouldn't get at City or United?

{Ed002's Note - There is no secret that there is interest and there have been discussions. Equally one advisor has expressed (for a year now) concern over attitude and contact with the press (the pain in the neck factor) - so we need to wait some few days. One club (Chelsea) has spoken with LOSC and I suspect one or two more will have done today or will do tomorrow. Personally, a great deal if he cleans up his act - a problem at any interested club if he doesn't and he can't step up. So you can guess where I sit with this. And I am not 100% over Hulk either.}

How can they sign any players when their permanent manager is still to be decided?

Not coming to us. Thats it f*** him, i mean we have greater problems to deal with, {Ed016's Note - Who cares? he is vastly over-rated}

I don't understand the bleating about this guy signing for money, so what don't you all do that in your job, he is Belgian and therefore has no reason to choose any English club for any other reason than what suits his personal terms.

28 May 2012 20:58:18
Kenny bought very poor players like Adam, Henderson and Downing. The next manager will clear these losers out/

How can you say this when you dont even no who the new manager will be
idiot you

What a proud club we have been over the years, and what we are losing very rapidly with fans like you. They wear the red shirt, they get our support. Henderson will be a star, you are probably one of the many ignorant people who gave Lucas stick a few years back.

Your slating hendo like you slated lucas
derryred

Adam sold buy Rangers for 500k to Blackpool Kenny buys him for 6mill i told you about king Kenny great player crap manager ps he stuck John Barnes on Celtic i rest my case.Big Joe {Ed001's Note - he was not sold by Rangers for 500k at all. Blackpool got him on a deal whereby they paid the interest on 500k, the 500k, plus a sell on percentage, only became payable when he was sold. That deal was because Rangers knew he was worth far more, but they had treated him badly and he wanted away, so they took a gamble on future value.}

You were probably saying the same about Carroll a few weeks ago.

Nothing wrong with Hendo when played in his right position

You complete and utter div. Why don't you go and support Man Utd. You sound just like one of their blithering idiots. Give players a chance. This is real life not FIFA 12

I'm so ashamed when I read trash like that written by the OP. You're a disgrace and far from red!

Turn your colours in and go support city you disrespectful muppet

Granted Henderson may come good but he aint no lucas by a long way,downing is atrocious and adam way too slow.Sticking with players of this low quality will see us staying where we finnished,mid-table.Wake up you Liverpool fans.

Henderson aint the same style of player as lucas watch a game man

Yeah in fairness alot of people gave Lucas stick and he proved them wrong but he was the only really under performing player in the squad. Its difficult when Adam, Hendo and Downing are at it...and it doesnt stop there. I do think Hendo will be quality though, Adam and Downing im not convinced...maybe there will be less pressure next season because they did both play well for their previous clubs. Tough job for any manager coming in I reckon.

Why do people keep going on about downing he was bought to get the ball into the box, he did it the forwards couldnt do the rest, henderson is a reall good young player he needs that bit of time

I'm guessing the OP doesn't actually watch Liverpool play and instead listens to Man Utd fans and the press. If you did actually watch these players then you would clearly know that the potential is very good. Don't forget that all these players have been at the club for 1 season. It takes more than 1 season to build success and gel into a unit that works.

All three of them are not good enough to wear the shirt.

Don't think Adam under-performed really, i don't think he was that good in the first place and he was always going to be a squad player anyway. Downing has not shown anything for me, despite being played so much. Henderson is a boy trying to do a man's job, he looks totally out of his depth.

Evening lads, our sources are absolutely positive that Jamie Carragher will not be taking up any sort of management role or coaching position this season. He is in the dark on when to retire but mark my words, we will have good ol' Jamie for another season.

RedManIn

On the bench i hope,can't cut it no more

Good news that he is not getting a coaching job, bad news he's not retiring, should be transfer listed.

Hope not, its time to hang up the boots - past use by date regardless of loyalty

He has only one year left on the contract

I hope this is true, if he wasn't a scouser he'd be on 20th of his salary playing in the 2nd division

Great player but past it. Move over to coaching and play when required.

I cannot believe how disrespectful all of you fans are to one of the few players left in a "generation" the new generation are different football will never be what it used to be!

One of the biggest lumpers in
prem...............

28 May 2012 20:42:44
Downing, Adam and Henderson have a year to prove themselves. From a reliable source.

I could have told you that and i have no sources!

They had it

From a reliable sauce!
HP?
Heinz?or should that be Heinze?
Or the ALDI version?

That's not a reliable source but a fairly obvsious comment that they will be given more time, just look at Lucas! Big Mike

That sauce joke was terrible, the original statement had the correct spelling for the situation in which being used.

I don't think Henderson hasn't anything to prove..

Gerrard will be with us for at least another year, its from a reliable source as well (common sense)

That's a year too long for adam and downing. they might be the downfall of the next manager.

Have you spoken to our new manager?

Says who?

Just your opinion methinks and one that most professionals in the game would disagree with.
Adam Scottish International, Downing and Henderson English Internationals.
Sometimes you fit in at a club and sometimes you don't? Doesn't mean your a bad player though. Out of the 3 Downing although a good player, I don't think is what we need. The other two are good players and will settle better given time.
Sick of people constantly having a go at our players!!
kidmillions

Another stupid pointless post.I think the new manager ,whoever he is might have a say in this.
Why do people make up crap pointless posts.

If you look at the form of Adam and Downing at their last clubs they took a year to settle and show form. I'd be happy giving them another year

And who's made that decision???

And who are they proving themselves to?

I have never posted a rumour before mainly just questions but I have heard from a friend that we are seriously looking at Portuguese midfielder Danny. Just passing on what I heard

We apparently looked at him previously, but then according to the papers who haven't we looked at!?

Doubtful!
Hutchy

I personally have been told by Emile Heskey if Liverpool offered him a contract which we could do he would sign for us! Get In there!

He done his knee Feb and is out for about 8 months cant see us making that mistake again.

Hope your mate is wrong

hey eds, great site never posted before but read it last 6mnd.... My family is close friends with someone who is workin for FSG in boston, and earlier this week we had dinner together... He have always said that he has nothing to do with lfc, but after couple bottles(i was complaining alot about how lfc are handled this days) he said that things are not how they seem in the press, and key staff is allready in place and working with atleast two transfers of hes knowledge... do u have a clue about who those two players are?

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - I could only speculate about the transfers at this time.}

"{Ed002's Note - I could only speculate about the transfers at this time.}"

Isn't that the point of this site?

{Ed002's Note - I would prefer to stick to what I know to be correct as far as is possible.}

Speculate (the Warren G song, regulate, comes into my head, changing the word regulate to speculate) come ed002, your an editorial legend, please speculate (as in realistically) give us a few crumbs whilst we have nothing good in recent times.. {Ed002's Note - I gave you the agent induced "keep us in touch" links over Rasmus Elm and Ryad Boudebouz but I think both are reasonably viable options.}

Out of sheer interest could you give a speculative guess please Ed? The media over the last few months seem to suggest Luuk De Jong and Boudebouz but just would like to see which 2 you think would be most likely? {Ed002's Note - I would say that is a pretty good guess, if the story holds up. At Elm to the mix and, I would take an outside shot at Corgnet. Soldado was a solid link (wheras sadly I think Muniain was never a viable option) and we still have the lingering What if scenario surrounding an out bound or two. Ramirez then perhaps.}

Its funny how many people have family or know someone who lives or works in boston. pls dont post your rubbish again. i'm sick of seeing the same old c##p
andy

Ok, thx for answer anyway ed... Damn he really got me fired up now... Both young lads he said, one playing in serie a.... Im sry i cant get better info... Could it be gaston ramirez maybe?

Hope true,really do,but??!!

28 May 2012 20:02:55
macca are we actually interested in cavani or is it bs again!

Interested, yes; signing, no chance.

If Juventus, Inter and Napoli are interested in are best players, then we're gonna be right after their biggest and best players.

Fight fire with fire. The EPL is much better than the Italian League. More rumbles of match fixing and bet fixing coming out of Italy after a new sting by Italian police.

If there was no chance their interest would be elsewhere

28 May 2012 19:44:49
I'm not claiming to be in the know or anything but I just have a feeling that the new manager is going to be Klopp.

I think Dortmund are going to sell some of there better players and this may be a reason for him to leave.

I can't see it being Rogers. If it's true Wigan are holding a press confrence then that would rule Martinez out. If the press confrence is a load of rubbish then I'd say Martinez is the one.

So on this basis in my opinion it leaves Klopp, LVG and Laudrup that we are looking at.

Bilverstone

No rm conference tomorrow even though they said there would be
Whelan knows all
Bean

Really hope this is false

MARTINEZ PRESS CONFERENCE TOMO.
BEEN CANCELLED,MARTINEZ HAVING MORE TALKS WITH LFC, WHELAN WANTS IT SORTED BY THURS......

I'm hoping for laudrup as coach with LVG as DoF.
Fantastic outcome IMO. Would have consent that 1 week ago.

Sjb76

I´m from germany and Klopp 100% won`t leave. sorry

Wigan is making a mockery out of this transfer. Martinez is a decent guy but I don't think he is the man for the job. The owners think by going back to Rafa is taking Liverpool backwards. Well when we went back for Kenny we are actually going backwards then. It could be the case of once bitten twice shy with Rafa. But the way they go about in getting the manager is becoming a farce and quite frankly an embarassment to the fans.

Emabrassment to fans? You're the embarassment to fans. They're taking their time making a very important decision. I just want to team to play attractive entertaining football and give them all the support I have. Attractive football is something we wont get with benitiez.

28 May 2012 19:44:38
I've just watched an interview with Joe Cole.

How desperate is he for that permanent move to Lille?

Seems a good lad though.

DaveyBootle

You obviously weren't watching the same programme as me then

I think he's got unfinished business at Anfield

I took it that he would love another crack at liverpool.

What he said he would like another chance with lfc.

If i was getting paid £90,000 a week, knowing that no other club in the World is willing to pay me that, i'd say i 'd love another go as well.

If Cole leaves he'll be lucky to get half those wages, if he stays he's laughing. Sell Cole, sell Aquilani, get Tomorrow's players in and let yesterday's players leave. The circle of life.

I doubt he cares where he plays as such, just that he keeps playing and keeps bringing in the money he's used to

He can stay there

Another crack? He hesitated when asked whether-or-not he regretted a move to Liverpool. It will never work and he knows that too. Hopefully his loan club will now have a few bob to make the transfer possible.

DaveyBootle

Can you blame the lad? His game is perfectly suited to that league, he's living in gorgeous conditions and playing first team football. I'd be loving that move as well!

28 May 2012 19:42:33
I have never posted a rumour and i dont pretend to be in the know but i was told about 40 minutes ago that Brendan Rodgers is in Boston today talking to FSG. This info came from somebody who works in the same office as Brendan Rodgers niece
in Belfast.

John

Why would he be in Boston when the owners are coming over here tomorrow?

SWANSEA DENY ANY TALKS WITH LFC,
IF THEY ARE TO TALK THEY NEED SWANSEA'S PERMISSION.....

Wasnt rogers in new jersey watching a match was wales or someone playing in the states at the weekend

Rodgers was in NYC he could have swung through Boston on the way back home

28 May 2012 18:54:34
Been hearing rumours that Liverpool are set to announce the return of Michael Owen in the next few weeks.

Just as a backup to Carroll and Suarez, but he said he wants to see out his career back at Anfield.

West Ham, who had originally been leading the race for Owen, are looking at Klasnic instead now.

At least those are the rumours doing the rounds right now.

Makes sense...he'd be a good back up

Who is doing this deal?? there is no one at the club to sign players yet

Noooooooooooooooooooooo
Fowlerisgod

Haha yeah right'o

Oh how the mighty have fallen. I mean LFC not Owen. In the last couple of transfer windows we have been linked with the likes of Van Wolfswinkel, Eden Hazard and Loic Remy as potential striking targets. While these three look likely to sign for top four clubs, we are left scraping the bottom of the barrel by looking at Utd cast offs Berbatov and everyones favourite judas Owen. Even the rumours of Torres coming back have halted. Without a manager / coach we are falling further behind the top four. {Ed005's Note - Wow how gullible are you to believe Owen rumours are true, considering it was just written by some no mark person on this website.}

If we are interested in Berbatov or Owen I would be very very surprised. You are slagging the club off for looking at MU cast offs on the strength of a brainless rumour probably started by a Manc. Some of you miserable so and so's should think before you post tripe.

Injury prone, wrong side of 30, commands huge wages, doesn't fit in with the FSG policy.

If it happens, i'll eat my own poo. But it won't.

He will sign for Reading

LeighT

I'm mates with Richie partridge, he's married to Owens sister, he said he doubts very much that he'd want to go back to Liverpool.,wigan and Swansea are two teams he would talk to tho.

Don't want that Judas back at our club! That little so and so sold his soul to the devil when he joined THAT team!!

Stay away!

Owen is set to sign for stoke

I would not like micky owen back the moment he went to man u the bridge was burnt thanks mal ...

Not on ye nelly son, would rather have crouch or heskey back

He will sign for Tranmere, or if desperate Everton

IMO Owen is worse then Torres, never can a former Liverpool player leave and play for United. NEVER EVER! {Ed016's Note - I wish I could meet him, get talking about horses and then get onto a conversation of what do you do when a prize winner breaks its leg and will never be the same again? off to the glue factory.....or do you still parade it around the grand national just in case you get a participation prize}

This is nonsense, Owen would never state he wants to return, he knows how he's thought of and has no love for the club.

28 May 2012 18:54:20
if kloop were to become manager, what are the chances of kagawa, goetze, lewandowski joining

100%, 100% and 100%

Definitely not gotze or kagawa but maybe lewandoski

SLURed

Kagawa outside chance, Goetze no chance what so ever, lewandowski most unlikely (heading to Russia I heard...?)

SMc

About the same chances as you bein able to plait snot mate!!

No chance on Gotze or Kagawa, Lewandowski sounds possible but I'd expect bigger teams in for him with his goal record.

28 May 2012 18:06:00
Is there any chance on Lassana Diarra? I've read he's entering his last year with Real and rejected an extension and PSG could get him for under £4m, he'd be excellent cover for Lucas and provide some good competition.

No doubt he rejected it (if he has) because a lack of first team football. So he would not want to join another team to be 'cover' again..

Stone YNWA.

He wants first team football, if he's not happy sitting on Madrid's bench, why would he want to sit on Liverpool's bench?

I've read Arsenal want Diarra as a cheaper option to M'villa and would offer PSG, Juventus and Milan competition for him.

He's shocking

Didn't shine at Arsenal, didn't shine at Chelsea, performed OK at Portsmouth, but been pretty poor whenever he's played for Real Madrid.
I'll be disappointed if we sign him

More disappointed than if the transfer window closed and we still only had Spearing as cover?

He's better than Lucas, so sit on the bench? Have more respect.

28 May 2012 18:04:52
Is it true that liverpool are intrested in both edison cavani and ezequiel lavezzi?

Rumours of us being interested however if fsg have the money to try is not known

I'm interested in Katy Perry doesn't mean anything is going to happen though.

Who isn't interested in them?

Don't get your hope in getting them tho..

Cheerio

No neither

I'd be willing to bet that we are interested. I'd also be willing to bet that the interest isn't mutual.
Mark

I realise that LFC are interested and have been for a while, but there are many other big European clubs after them. I think that the only factor that may draw Cavani to LFC is the fact that Suarez is his Uruguayan team mate. He MAY be able to usher him over here, but Napoli would still demand at least £30 Million. We may possibly offer a few players in exchange, plus other money, but there is no one but Suarez that i think Napoli would have!

Messi,ronaldo,Iniesta too

28 May 2012 18:02:32
Why are some people saying that Martinez is out of the running? Whats happened? If anyone could answer i would appreciate it!

Warm16

Mainly fan reaction apparently

~GingeLFC

He isn't officially out of the running, its the fact he is holding a press conference at Wigan tomorrow, so people are guessing, he wouldn't hold a press conference at wigan to say he is leaving for Liverpool, when there are still reports we are still interviewing other candidates..so people are guessing from that, that he is out of the running..

He is still in the running there as a mother meeting set in the next few days

They are lying Martinez is hot favourite

Wigan have denied that any such press conference is taking place.

28 May 2012 17:40:13
Reports in Italy are claiming that Edion Cavani has persuaded Luis Suarez to join him at Napoli for next season, a deal worth £32 and Napoli's highley rated right back to replace Glen Johnson

Napoli dont play with a RB they play with 3 CB

Call me dim but i'm sure we'd get more than £32 for luis- maybe if we just held out a little longer...

Absolute BS. What do Napoli have to offer that we can't. We're both in the Europa league.

32 quids not bad !!

Napoli don't have that kind of money, not unless they sell Lavezzi or Hamsik.

I've been reading that Cavani wants out of Napoli and doesn't want to play for another team in Italy.

The other way around is more likely..
& suarez is staying so stop all these BS..
do you really think the owners who are here to win and one of the richest owners in the league would let go off suarez whatever the fee maybe..never

''a deal worth £32''.

Well that would be a loss of £22,799,068 million pound.

Not good business to sell your best player for £32.00p quid when you pay £22.8 million for him only a year prior. {Ed005's Note - I think he forgot to add the "m" in. No need for people to be smart alecs when they know it's a genuine mistake. Make themselves look like even bigger idiots.}

Thats funny dude

Get a grip ! Napoli dont even have champions league football. that would be a step down in his career.

Be a great move for suarez and Napoli

I wouldn't be suprised by this lavezzi is leaving most likely to psg so tats wher the money would come from

There is probably a bigger chance of Suarez pursuading Cavani to come to LFC, but neither is going to happen! As much as Cavani would look like a BEAST in the new LFC strip, i can see him playing for Man City or Chelsea by the end of the summer :(

Napoli have the likes of lavezzi and cavani why would they want suarez if anything liverpool need cavani and lavezzi

28 May 2012 16:48:18
Been told by a current Liverpool coach(not first team though) that Carra is having talks with the owners within the next few weeks regarding a senior coaching role when the new manager is in place this is so he can ensure the new boss gets a smoother introduction to the club and avoidand the mess AVB got into at Chelsea.

As long as it means and end to his playing days then that would be good. We were doin g alright in the league till Agger got injured and Carra came in and we lost nearly every game. I love the fella but he's finished at the top. If he wants to play on then it should be in a lower league. We don't want to have his legendary status tainted. I can't believe he hasn't announced his retirement.

Surely the new boss would decide who he wants in his coaching team, unless he is already chosen (highly unlikely)

AVB didn't have Roberto Di Matteo as his assistant at Chelsea then, who was and still is loved by the players.

Even more so now he's won an F.A cup and a Champions League Final.

Much as I love Carra, if it's true that he pushed for Hodgson to get the job - having played against his teams and knowing what awful football they play, then he shouldn't be let anywhere near a coaching role without spending a few years somewhere else to learn how to do it properly. JFT96

Would be worth a try...certainly i think it would be good to have him at the club and i can't see him being a regular in the team

Hope so

It better be a load of nonsense, should be kicked out, undermined Rafa and got him the sack, then pushed like mad for Hodgson to get the job, has constantly taken an anti foreigner stance when talking about signing players and investing in young players.

28 May 2012 16:00:16
who are most heavily linked with a move to and away liverpool?

Martinez and Dalglish respectively

Boudebouz is the most heavily linked coming to us and Dirk Kuyt is the most likely to leave.

BthekingB

To Adam Johnson
Away Martin Skrtel Maxi

Linked, as in by the papers!?

Who cares about paper j!zz!?

Suarez, Johnson, Maxi, Kuyt, Skertl, Agger, Reina and Downing have all been paper linked and gossiped about, in respects to moving on from Liverpool and everyone including their Mother's have been linked at coming into Liverpool.

But that's because many papers are sold on the back of the back page (sports) headline and latest trend in player.

It's propagation these days to sell papers. Which is why half the papers have football gossip websites. As they're the catalyst to the animal that they have had a hand in creating.

They (newspaper football gossip websites) write/type and print a thousand words for the big clubs with millions of supporters and followers, for every one word written about the smaller clubs, with much less supporters and have much less internet followers.

Newspapers used to sell the news after the facts, now they try and guess the future, like Mystic Meg and sell you it daily.

Downing won't go you idiot

I didn't type that Downing would go, i simply explained that Downing had been linked by the papers with a move away from Liverpool. Which he has been, Fulham was the touted destination.

So how about reading what is typed in context. As for claiming me to be an idiot, i think that one has backfired somewhat, seeing as i've had to explain this all to you, because you were unable to comprehend it on your own.

28 May 2012 15:44:22
Any chance lfc could become interested in boudabouz (spelling)? He's been claiming lfc have contacted him

There is a small chance, our sources believe that Alec Scott (assistant head of match analysis for lfc) will go to watch him, there will be no tranfer put through as final decision will have to be confirmed with DOF and thee manager.

Ian Abraham (Talk Sport )
According to my source in Germany, Klopp is set to
be announced LFC manager noon Monday, also has confirmed the Reds are genuinely interested in signing Edinson Cavani from Napoli.

Leonkopite

I actually believed him but that second part is complete nonsense so the first part is probably too

Fake account

Says who mate

Hope this to be true.

norwegian red

Its nearly half 4

Noon Monday

Ian Abraham is obviously an idiot

4.45 pm is noon not 12 in afternoon.. Or I suppose / wonder if info man meant noon USA time??

I totally agree, ian abraham (the moose) hasnt got a clue, regarding the cavani rumour its been reported in one of todays papers.
leonkopite

It was a fake account they swaped the L InTALKSPORT to an I
talksport
TaIksport
Bean

This is from his fake account. The real one does say Klopp will be the manager but not announced byy noon. And he does say we are interested in Cavani.

28 May 2012 15:25:29
Klopp is FSG number one choice. The stumbling block seems to be dortmund not wanting to let him go. I think the new manager will be announced by the end of the week personally. If lfc and Dortmund can reach an agreement then I'm sure we will get out man.

Hope not don't want Klopp at all.

Who do you want thn?? sam allardyce?!!!!

Klopp definetly wont leave! Has contract til 2016 and is very happy where he is. Greets from Germany

28 May 2012 15:23:48
Ed016 is it AVB? {Ed005's Note - No.}

Rodgers?

Is it good or bad ed {Ed005's Note - If it's Martinez I would say it's bad.}

No he is totally out of the running

The Metro claiming Louis Van Gaal joining LFC
Dangle1979

28 May 2012 14:57:22
It's,Roberto MARTINEZ.
Mark my words.

The_Anfield_Swallow.

I agree, it has to be Martinez. I feel Van Gaal will get the Director role to help Martinez but also to appease the LFC fans. Despie what the fans may say, I see this as a good long term project which will push Liverpool towards the title and Champions league football. Although this won't neccessarily happen over night

I'll mark your words with a big red "X". It WON'T be Martinez.

My head and heart scream "NOOOOOOOOO". My stomach tells me that you are right. Personally, I dont think it would be a good move.

I totally agree with you mate it is R Martinez the Yanks have gone cheap and cheerfull

28 May 2012 14:53:48
Hello Ed002,
thanks for your outstanding work. Can you please tell what's the latest situation with M'Vila and Isla? {Ed005's Note - Ed002 won't be on very often in the next while as he is busy, I think, but M'Vila looks likely to join Arsenal and nothing on Isla.}

I've always thought Ed002 is female. Am I not right? {Ed001's Note - she is a bit of both....}

I think you say ed002 is a girl so he doesn't get as much abuse for supporting chelsea lol {Ed001's Note - no, it is because she is.}

28 May 2012 14:49:20
lfc wiill bid 12 million pounds for Aiden Mcgeady once manager is appointed.good source. {Ed005's Note - Great, another over-rated player who delivers nothing in the final third.}

He is very quick and can give quality balls into the box ... as he showed for ireland vs bosnia , ,,although he is overrated and i would not have him in my starting 11 ! {Ed005's Note - CAN give quality balls into the box, I agree but out of about 10 crosses 1 are quality. Downing can put quality balls into the box aswell. McGeady is a good player but I think we need a top winger and he's not up to it IMO.}

Yeh, but he has 5 star skills on fifa soo hes awesome!

He wasnt even quite good in Scotland - never mind good enough - from a red in Scotland

F*** that us Irish don't call him macgreedy for nothing he can't cross worth a f*** and when he does 1 out of 10 are good ones Maclean for me would be the better choice

Why would we want that donkey?

Another Ireland fan here who can confirm that 12 million squids spent of McGeedy would be about as dumb as spending 20 mil on Downing. He can really sparkle but most of the time he is wasteful and he also has a bit of a snotty atitude about him that has got him into trouble on more that a few occasions. No, we'd be far better off with less flash options like Hoilett or even N'Zogbia. People want flash but we need consistency more than anything else. We have a man mountain in the box who will bury a good cross and yet amazingly have barely managed to find him this season!..

Im from dublin, and can tell u he is the worst player ever. Just terrible.

I have to disagree with the Ed. He's a quality player. His final ball is better than anyone in the premier league. Be a great signing but it'll be for a lot more than 12m. If Downing is 20m the McGeady is potentially a lot more. If Hazard goes for 31m then we're looking at about 25m. {Ed005's Note - Better than anyone in the PL? I'm very sorry but I totally disagree with that. Downing is crap but I think he even has a better final ball than McGeady. £25m for McGeady? Honestly that would be as bad as spending £20m on Downing. Atleast Downing was performing in a top league. We want a top winger with a good consistent final ball.}

12m your having a laugh more like 3-4m

25 Mil??......thats beyond having a laugh mate, that calls for a straight jacket. The only people who come out with crap like this about extreemly average, inconsistent players like McGeedy are Celtic and Rangers fans with a completely inflated sense of logic when it comes to the merits of the players in the SPL. We will soon have plenty of opportunity to observe McGeedy in the Euros and while Id love to see him do the business for Ireland, I wont be holding my breath. One decent cameo against Bosnia on foot of competition from McClean and all of a sudden, he's the new Hazzard...zzzzzzz

Agree with you ed. i watch him for ireland and he has no end product. he beats a man, then turns and tries to beat him again. when that wrks he then plays in a terrible cross which often doesn't pass the first man or else cuts inside and draggs his shot wide.
derryred

Yea i agree with one of the posters above in that Mc Clean would be a fantastic signing, i heard from a good source though that he's on the rador at old trafford.

28 May 2012 14:23:14
hi eds just heard that napoli pair lavezzi and cavani are intrested in liverpool plus and the top side cavani and suarez are really good mates thanks

Source?

He has no source cause Lavezzi and Cavani wouldn't want to stoop to a second rate club. Expect them to go MC/MU/Chelsea.

Clearly saw this on caught offside

Total crap - infact cavani and suarez don't get on at all because of suarez's handball at the world cup.

28 May 2012 13:15:19
I'm finding it hard to believe the Klopp rumours as I don't see why he would want to leave Dortmund, he's built a great young side, won back to back titles and at least one domestic cup, and he must want to take them further in europe. The only thing I can think is that it won't be long before his best players are lured away and I'm not sure about their finances but I would think that they would struggle to replace them. At the minute I really can't see a move to Liverpool it would be nice to be wrong though.
RealisticRed {Ed005's Note - He didn't win back to back titles. However he has done a great job there all the same. I don't know what to make of the rumours however Dortmund are working on a limited budget and with the likes of Kagawa, Gotze, Lewandowski and possibly others like Hummels and Subotic being looked at by top clubs in Europe one has to wonder how much further can he take Dortmund? We will see what happens. I'd love him as our manager.}

I'm fairly sure he has won back to back titles Ed...

Ed u'd love Kloop as our manager and yet u don't know he won back to back championships as manager of Dortmund??? {Ed005's Note - Apologies, my mistake.}

Shocking Ed005 saying he didn't win back to back championships when he did

Barry 1243 {Ed005's Note - As I said, a mistake.}

Very sorry editor but klopp did win back to back titles in 2010/11 and 2011/12 you should read wilkepedia

Your right! Jurgen klopp would have me excited and to see whi he could bring with him martinez would be a disaster

Jesus eds aren't unhuman lads. So quick t jump at people chill t f out

Ed005 ,I'm assuming ur a Liverpool fan? {Ed005's Note - Yes.}

He did win back to back titles Ed {Ed005's Note - Great, you can read. Now scan down and read the part where I said I was mistakened. Thanks.}

For c****s sake ed, he did win back to back titles.What is this? Sort it out?

I'm taking the p***s , great work on the site mate

Right jesus christ, notice how people jump on the mistake rather than recognise that the ed said he would love him as our coach and that there is a chance that it can happen.
derryred

Yeah...Klopp for the Kops.

28 May 2012 13:10:21
Hi ed,just visited koptalk.com,but they r saying that there will be no press conference at wigan on tuesday n kloop to be next manager is totally rubbish,what do u reckon abt this {Ed005's Note - Koptalk is a disgrace of a website and Duncan Oldham doesn't have a clue what he's talking about nor has he any inside information. He just reads papers and media, says it and claims it as his own.}

Ed 05
very strong words {Ed005's Note - Very true words also.}

Haha so right, ive never seen anything that guy predict come true

I just checked the site and he doesn`t say that at all.! try to keep it real guys

I like your style Ed005 - never been a truer or more 'real' word.

FUnny that, he seems to get more things right than you guys do... {Ed001's Note - you mean he makes up more things and so eventually gets some of his thousands of 'exclusives' right? Go away Dunk, you are a proven liar who tried to profit from the Hillsborough disaster, go back to wearing your S*n hat and stay off my site. Perhaps you should spend more time writing your book, you know the one people pre-ordered that you never bothered to write or refund the money from?}

Above poster = Owned!

Adam

But his Mum's ill and needs everyone to renew their memberships 11 months early so he can fly her back from his villa in Spain.

He is an absolute s**t talker. liverpool sign ramirez, liverpool sign mata, liverpool sign bastos, join our website for more exclusive bulls**t.
derryred

Im amazed that people still even take koptalk seriously. Its long been a rehash or whatever news Duncan can find (or just make something up and then down the road you can claim you revealed it exclusively), whilst trying to fleece as many people as possible for VIP membership so he can do up his house, get a nice new tv and fly his old dear out to spain. This is a bloke who has been living in a hotel for about the last year at £50 nicker a night.

And dont forget the Steve Gerrard is going to Real Madrid but theres been a last minute hitch because Madrid are offering less than the £20m that Liverpol had asked for.

28 May 2012 13:09:13
Neither Martinez or Rodgers will get the job. Henry due in the UK this week!

Dangle1979

Martinez will get job. If not Kenny to come back?

Henry is taking over as manager then is he?

Thierry Henry? jaysus

28 May 2012 12:17:56
Ed's, what's the situation with G.Ramirez? {Ed005's Note - Dalglish and Comolli were interested in him and wanted to do a deal as far as I'm aware however now they've gone things may change. I think we'll hear more when the new manager, DoF etc. have been appointed.}

28 May 2012 12:12:30
Has Hazard just signed for Chelsea ed002?
KiwiRed {Ed005's Note - It seems as if he may go to Chelsea now, having already comfirmed he wanted Real Madrid, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City, Barcelona, Luton Town, Crewe Alexandra, and pulled out of the race to be the next Liverpool manager.}

I doubt he would ever have gone to Crewe Alexandra. He really doesnt fit their style of play and would probably struggle to get in the first team.

Haha, good answer ed.
KiwiRed

That's not just post of the day, that's post of the year ed lmao

Eden hazard sounds like a complete t**t ! "i'll anounce who im going to sign for on twitter at 4pm" what a n*****d ! i hope he signs for city or chelsea or whoever and gets a proper english centre half challenge in his first match, welcome to the prem ! now pick yourself up out of the mud cos this is just the start

Ed005 Your just became my favourite ed after 16

Kinda reminds me of the ridiculous situation when Lebron James had his own TV special to announce he was gonna sign with Miami Heat a few years back. Not surprisingly, Lebron didn't come out of the situation looking all that great, and it would appear the same has happened to Hazard. I don't wish injury on the guy or anything, but I do hope he's not all he's cracked up to be, I find it very annoying when sports stars think they've become international super-celebrities.

Rugby Parker

You forgot to mention Wigan

Hazard is sooo up his own a$e, so over rated too. Imagine if he turns out to be crap.

Hazard will sign for Chelsea as soon as his wife agrees personal terms with John Terry..

Even though I detest what LeBron did and still hold a grudge against him, he is currently the best basketball player in the world...you can't even compare Hazard to Messi...

28 May 2012 13:39:19
Any interest from anyone in Jermain Lens? He'd be a class signing IMO.

28 May 2012 13:04:07
Hi all

This what I've been told regarding the senior player transfer request by my two different contacts.

My contact in Spain (same guy told me about Pep weeks before the story hit the papers) said the senior player (Believed to be Pepe) wants out because he feels the club hasn't progressed in the last 12 months and at his age he needs to play at the very top level.

My guy close to the club told me a number of senior players aren't happy with the way the club is progressing. A senior Liverpool player has defiantly handed in a transfer request as of right now it's unknown who the player is. Clubs without managers will leave open doors for agents. At the end of the day agents will try to move players on that's how they make their money.

The feeling around the club is a lot of senior players don't want RM as the manager.

The club needs to  show more ambitions starting with the manager & better signings.

I always sign my posts as The_Insider not The insider!!

The_Insider

Your post makes sense in as much that world class players need to be playing at the top. I personally think the money men are scared of getting a big name in (who will want a big transfer budget) and getting it wrong again. these guys are not oil tycoons playing fantasy football. would RM be such a bad choice?

Possibly could the players deliver

Yes he would be a bad choice!!
What has he done? Wigan still battle every year against relagation.
It has to be Rafa as no one else is going to come.

It doesn't matter what you post yourself as your still full of sh*t

How ever you spell it you have a 0% strike rate spelt how it is now and spelt the other way i think your just an attention seeking gimp

More rubbish from KrapTalk 'Insider'

Well, this 'number of senior players who aren't happy at our progress' should know that WE are not happy with their progress. They are the ones on the pitch. In addition, with regard senior players being unhappy at the appointment of ANY particular manager - we want none of that here - tails wag dogs at Chelsea - I am sure FSG will not let that happen at Anfield

Puzzled

You are a sly guy from what i can tell, you post stuff sounding very formal and never ever say anything is confirmed to make it look like the deals are being kept secret but the bottom line is you have a strike rate of 0%, and you ain't no insider

Jw henry and tom werner say they
want to take the club back to
the top, but you can't do that
penny pinching, when chelsea
wanted to take on the big boys
they went out and got the best manager around,mourinho, they
didn't take a punt on alan curbishley or alan pardue...... {Ed001's Note - but Mourinho was untried in a big league, they took a chance on him.}

Insider, i believe unlike a few of us here, has no internal sources within the club. Stevie G clearly stated that he backs Martinez and not is that only enough for us lfc fans but in my opinion also for the rest of the lfc players. Check your facts mate, keyboard warrior.

RedManIn, YNWA {Ed001's Note - actually Stevie said he would back whoever was chosen, whether it be Martinez or anyone else.}

Well your wrong because my inside source in the club said it was aqualiani because now carroll has a more womanly haircut than him
derryred

I've never heard any player say our manager is s**t!! Look at chelsea & AVB how many Chelsea players came out talking s**t about a manager? None, at the end of the day if the players aren't doing there job on the pitch that means they you're finished.

28 May 2012 12:21:24
Just been hinted at by a source that Liverpool boy Jay Spearing will be leaving Anfield, if not in the summer than definitely in January. He may be moved out on loan however and top targets are Hull City and Southampton.

RedManIn

Finally, the guy makes so many mistakes its unbelievable. He wouldnt even get in the wolves team

He won't

Does he need a lift there?

28 May 2012 11:59:20
Hi all, i run another rumour page like this one but no names mentioning as i see it as unfair to promote on other websites. From our sources, Klopp will be interviewed but he has made no commitment to join, he simply wants to see what L.F.C have to offer. As for those who believe Suarez has handed in a transfer request this is false. He has not said anything but according to sources he is happy where he is at the moment and his wife and children are settled.

YNWA, RedManIn

Hi ed, do you know this guy? Do you think he has credible info? {Ed005's Note - No I don't know him.}

28 May 2012 10:11:03
Hi eds, Lee chun yong of Bolton has indicated he is willing to move on. Will liverpool be going for him? will be great for liverpool's capture of asian market after Parkjisung likely gg to leave manU tis yr. seems to be a better player than downing, i think he cn play support striker role too. {Ed001's Note - he is a right winger, irrelevant about Downing. I would rather we didn't buy players for marketing reasons.}

How about quality reasons Ed? He's pretty damn good.

TSP {Ed001's Note - if he is seen as good enough, but he hasn't exactly played a lot of football since our club was taken over. It is unlikely the scouting staff have been able to watch him play.}

28 May 2012 10:35:07
Liverpool's owners are said to be interested in Napoli pair Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi according to Corriere Dello Sport as the Anfield side look to re-invigorate their squad this summer. This source states that a move for the attacking pair would set the Merseyside club back over £60m to finance.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise for Liverpool to be looking into improving their attacking options having seen their side manage just 47 goals in the Premier League last season but it would take a fairly momentous offer to persuade the Serie A side to offload two of their most prized assets.
Perhaps 25 year old Uruguayan Edinson Cavani could be lured by the possibility of joining his international colleagues Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates at Liverpool, the former Palermo man has enjoyed two stellar seasons at the San Paolo, during which time he has netted 66 goals in 94 appearances but may well be tempted by a move away from Napoli after they failed to retain their spot in the Champions League, though the forward would clearly have to be satisfied that the Merseyside club who has targeted him could end their run of three seasons without a seat at the top table of European football.

27 year old Argentine Lavezzi has been Cavani's partner in crime as part of Walter Mazzarri's attacking advances, providing invaluable to both the Uruguayan and attacking midfielder Marek Hamsik.
The former San Lorenzo man provided 11 goals and 11 assists last term and has become a crucial member of Napoli's attacking line-up.
Given that Liverpool are still to appoint a permanent successor to Kenny Dalglish one would imagine that any advances for new additions would first be given the green light by any new boss before an offer was made.
Liverpool have had to greatly rely on Suarez over the past 18 months as the club's only reliable effective attacking weapon but may have been encouraged by a run of consistent displays from Andy Carroll in the closing weeks of the last campaign, form that have propelled the £35m signing into Roy Hodgson's starting eleven plans for the upcoming Euro 2012 finals.

They failed to qualify for CL so why not if we have the money then once again why not + According to s guy on Twitter ian abrahams he belives the interest is genuine so we'll see

SaamYOO

Suarez Cavani Lavezzi front three WOW!!

In my opinion, i'd just take Lavezzi and keep Carroll. Cavani is some talent but i'd love to see Carroll become a legend at Liverpool.

Cavani and lavezzi IN and we would be sorted!

IN:
Cavani
Lavezzi
60 mill

OUT:
Aurelio free
Amoo free
Cole 5 mill
Maxi 3 mill
Kuyt 5 mill
Adam 5 mill
18 mill

Net spent: 42 mill

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Lucas Aquilani
Suarez Gerrard Lavezzi
Cavani

Just Cavani for me, Lavezzi and Suarez are to similar. Man he would kill it for us. It wont happen but still a good post.

Comedy gold more like darren bent and victor moses for you relegation fighters

gooooooner

OK, I'll bite. Arsenal fan laughing at Liverpool? You've not won a trophy for 7 years lad. You've never won the European cup. Your manager is worshipped by the fans, but he's clearly more interested in making money than winning trophies. So concentrate on your own clubs failings and laugh at us if/when you actually have some success.

Atleast weve won a trophy recently unlike arsenal

In the real World Liverpool and FSG do not have the funds that are being mentioned to spend on new signings, we did not qualify for CL and our position in the League means we missed out on atleast 30-40 million.

If we sell our fringe players we may raise 10-15mil and I can't see FSG investing more than 20mil on top of that so that is 30-35mil to spend. If their was to be larger funds made available I would be very surprised but looking @ FSG business structure they do not normally throw money at problems but build from within, as I have said in previous posts I believe FSG are the right owners to take Liverpool in to the next era but this will be a building process over the next 3-5 years before we are bidding for the Prem.

Jules
{Ed016's Note - Did you have any idea they would invest so heavily last summer?}

28 May 2012 10:07:41
heard suarez announced he wanted a transfer- knew it woul happen! :/

scrapper fegan

Its matias suarez, mate, you shocked me

Where did you hear that?

Siggle

Who told u? evra?

Heard it from the inside mucker

No you never

I think some people in this site won't be happy until all our top players are gone

28 May 2012 09:45:32
ok an idea.... ryad boudebouz left/right constantly swaping flanks with adam johnson? i beleive johnson will become avaliable due to the fact that eden hazard will go to man s**ty for silly money. these 2 on the wings would be 10x better than downing and henderson!! fact!!

I think the signing of 1 of them would be on the cards but not both

Henderson shouldn't be played on the wing anyways. I hope the new manager realizes that. He can be a real presence in the middle.

AmRed

Would love munian and ramirez although both tend to roam about and offer little width

People that constantly say 'FACT' when they mean 'OPINION' are idiotic.

100 per cent better al though hendo is not winger centre mid for him c'mon the pool.

I would rather have both ryad boudebouz an younes belhanda for 13m euros and 16m euros and get a decent striker for 20-25m pounds

How does this rubbish make the rumours page? {Ed005's Note - I certainly find it more constructive and easy to edit/read, as opposed to posts complaining and moaning. Indeed some may see it as non-realistic, however rather than complain how about contribute to it?}

But Henderson doesn't pay on the Wing you idiot! -

Wow caan i see your chrystal ball ?

Hi eds, do we have any chance at all of signing Powell from crewe? I know we previously had interest but with nobody at the helm, is our interest gone? Jayo {Ed002's Note - Manchester United would seem to be favourites right now.}

Really hope so I'd love to see him at Anfield

28 May 2012 07:47:16
Ed who do you think is a better player Ryad boudebouz who has scored 5 goals in ligue 1 last season or victor moses who has scored 6 goals in Bpl ,As both played under same conditions,that is fighting the religation.
And between them who do you think is more likely to join liverpool this season.
{Ed002's Note - I would not wish to try and compare players in such a way as it is always who would fit best at Liverpool that should be asked. Interest remains in Boudebouz.}

Moses any day lfc should move fast.

Boudebouz is a far better player than Moses theres no comparison.
TED

Done some maths and Ryan Boudebouz has scored 20 goals in 130 appearances for Sochaux, which means one in six and half matches.

Victor Moses on the other hand has scored 8 in 72 matches, which is a less impressive 1 in 9 matches.

Jolly Red

Ryad also is a creative passer. Moses is not

28 May 2012 07:18:12
Just a question eds,
Which club would want reina when those top clubs already have quality keepers, unless you are talking about juve and milan. {Ed002's Note - If Reina became available I am sure he would have options available to him - Atletico for example.}

28 May 2012 00:07:43
Hi eds, is Ryad Boudebouz on a free this year? Thanks

BthekingB {Ed002's Note - No he is still under contract.}

Serious talk this morning that Klopp is going to be the new manager.

Chris in Tamworth {Ed016's Note - talk is all it is}

Heard the same

My source stated this on friday, didnt wanna post as all people do is be negative towards people that post

my source also stated and this the RUMOUR GOING ROUND, that martinez was infact only offered the assistant managers job and KLOPP IS THE MAN THEY WANT AS MANAGER. soon as i hear more ill let you all know.

Ed16 why don't you humour us all and shed some light on the situation then if you have any info on the next manager instead of teasing everyone

{Ed005's Note - I don't think anyone could claim to have any definative or credible information at the moment. Smart stuff from FSG in my eyes.}

Corriere dello Sport says Napoli attacking stars Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani are interesting Liverpool's owners.

The Reds would have to find over £60 million to sign the pair.

That's what we need in terms of players, we've been missing goals terribly. Cavani scores them and Lavezzi helps create them.

£60 million is a big wack, but it would be the surest way to have a proper go at top 4.

If Suarez were to leave for £30 million +, then We'd only need to find half of that, maybe less.

I think finding the money for these two players isn't the up hill battle, it's interesting them more than a Champions League team with big money, City, PSG and Malaga to name a few.

They both get an injury and where does that leave us?

There is no reference to this story in Corriere dello sport.. more BS from a BS fan.
YNWA

I would love them both, but think £60m is way beyond the budget available. LFC would have to sell a number of other players to finance this.
So it could be two steps forward and three back!.

Are you in charge of the clubs finances? I thought one of the eds had said before that there is no budget as such. Kenny spent over 100million, so surely after selling fringe players it won't take a lot to put together 60mil for the owners. I can't see us getting either personally, but would take Cavani and forget Lavezzi if we were to make any kind of move.

so it's down to Van Gaal,Villas-Boas,Pep,Laudrup??Would that be a correct statement? ed's?

phillyred {Ed016's Note - I believe so, fan reaction pushed Martinez towards staying at Wigan}

Was that the Wigan fans wanting him to stay or the LFC fans saying they did not want him.

I'm more likely to become the next Liverpool manager than Pep.

Be seriously underwhelmed if we end up with brendan rodgers, its starting to look like we're not a big club anymore when we cant even attract the wigan manager. bad bad times

AVB is not in the running. It is between Martinez and Brendan Rogers.

an idea of a surprise twist...although unlikely...

many on here and even in the media have praised Martinez for having a great eye for talent and having implemented Swansea's style of play...

what if Martinez is in line for the DOF job and Rodgers or Laudrup are being lined up as manager?

{Ed016's Note - Too young for DOF, would be an insult to even some of our current staff}

FSG did this with a 29 year old Theo Epstien for the Boston Red Sox.

Don't mention that there are current staff - FSG think they've sacked everyone

Thanks for keeping us posted Ed016! Can you tell us if AVB and LVG are in the mix? Many thanks. {Ed016's Note - Yep, both were contacted initially along with a lot of other people}

Ian Abrahams (@Moose_talkSPORT) still adament that Klopp will be the Liverpool manager. We will have to wait and see. #LFC

Klopp for Kop manager. How are you think about it, eds/macca?

Mala_REDS {Ed016's Note - Nope not Klopp}

That'll explain why Klopps odds have really shortened. Still Martinez as the favourites with the bookies though

Guys it's a fake account. The L is talksport is an I. Look carefully and you will see.
LFC82

Whether the rumour is true or not the account isn't fake... Source now is talksport US jurno Kreger...
HullRed

Its a fake account and the real one said he would be appointed last thursday

Fake or not fake, Moose and Talksport are so consistently wrong it's amazing anyone listens and takes notice!

Never believe a moose

Hey Ed's i was wondering if you could shed any light on football player insurance? is it required for all professional contracts? and would you be able to insure as a example, Demba Ba's knee?

Does it cover the players pay? Sorry if i don't know a lot and asking stupid questions was just curious Thanks. {Ed016's Note - Insurance is a very very complex aspect of the game. No idea how it is adjusted or scaled to be honest with you.}

I play in france at a high youth level with bordeaux. Players insurances are ussually payed by the club, and are very expensive, depending on what body parts and type of injuries, and motif of injury, ans o course the players income. Lets say Suarez breaks his leg in training, and is out for 1 year, the club will send the inormation to the insurance, and insurances will pay a big part, if not all of the player's salary. If suarez breaks his leg at home though, the club will have no help with player insurances, unless they pay extra for domestic injuries, which big clubs pay for players with the bigger salaries. Bassicly this is how it works.

Decent, looks like its between the Swansea manager and the Wigan manager for the Liverpool job. Who knows, next year we might be able to attract the stoke manager.

LoL, made me chuckle, then made me Grr.

At least we are going for managers with proven track records, how not to get relegated, at least we'll still be in the premiership next season!

Whats wrong with rodgers and martinez.rogers swansea side played far better football than you mugs.

Take them to your club then

Hopefully, next year we might be able to attract better fans. Rather then the plastic ones who seem to know little about football.

Those sre to of the youngest and most exciting managers in europe, why the negative attitude towards them

People like you are NOT fans you are glory hunters that are better placed by supporting one of the 'sugar-daddy' clubs out there. If you don't like it go away and let us get on with supporting our club...think of the positives for you...you'll be able to change your scarf colours to match the seasonal fashion shows!

Don't be silly. Give FSG credit for recognizing that Swansea and Wigan play good football on limited budgets. That's why Rodgers and Martinez are in demand. {Ed005's Note - Wigan? For most of the season Wigan were shocking - defending was abismal and they could barely score. Clearly the "good football" they tried to play didn't work yet Martinez persisted in trying to force them to play it which makes you wonder why didn't he see it and change things rather than continue and risk relegation?}

Hi eds macca or anyone with genuine contacts

Are Liverpool seriously trying to get klopp I know macca did say they wanted him but it seems that most people including nearly all the eds don't seem to think so.?

Thanks for the sight eds u really are doing a teriffic job keeping the fans posted I'm addicted to this sight especially this time of the year when all the excitement and possibilities of who might be arriving at melwood for a medical.

And to all my fellow lfc supporters good luck to us next season hopefully with better luck in front of goal we should be back amongst Europes elite exactly where we should be

YNWA

Cheers

Mo {Ed016's Note - Not Klopp}

Klopp to Liverpool rumours gathering pace. Let's hope so.

I would love Klopp to be our manager, but has he not already ruled himself out of the running?

He would be the man If he does come. Fingers and toes crossed

How do u cross your toes.......i honestly cant do that

Seriously...I came to the replies in anger and then all I could do was spend a minute crossing my toes...lol...I CAN cross my big toe with the one next to it on both feet!! :D

Guys looks like we have no chance of getting Munian after Llorente has decided to move to Arsenal. FSG taking to long to appoint someone meaning we are missing out on potential signings.
LFC82

Llorente to arsenal ...what u been eating mate?

You don't seem to understand transfer windows do you??

I understand how transfer window works mate. Llorente is holding a press conference on Tuesday to announce he is leaving in the same way Torres did when leaving athletico Madrid. Arsenal will then announce his signature like Liverpool did with Torres. As for Munian it's unlikely Bilbao would let both star forwards leave in same window.
LFC82

He doesn't exactly fit arsenal style.

Rubbish, utter rubbish!

So will you come on and apologise when you are wrong?

Hi eds will we see more of Dani Pacheco next season? Maybe as replacement for Maxi? {Ed001's Note - doubtful, he is most likely to leave.}

Why are people so keen to see a lad who has no intention nor the ability to play for LFC. It baffles me

Are you having a laugh 11 mins he played at real vallecano
