gaston ramirez is a class player just what we need to add creativity in midfield i still think we need sigurdson aswell as ramirez,how likely is the ramirez deal to go tru?i wuld love to see suso and sterling in the squad next season both have the potential to be word class players!

Why sigurdsson and ramirez? that's £8m that can go towards a better CM. {Ed005's Note - Sigurdsson isn't a CM - he's an attacking midfielder. And in all honesty you'd have to go very far to find a better attacking midfielder who you could realistically get for £8m.}
I know sigurdsson is a AM but as CM i was thinking of back up like Gago or Granero for better option than adam or spearing.
and there are good attacking midfielders for around that price, Boudebouz. would cost 12m euros, which is what £9.5m and he can play on the wings or RM in Ramirez's position (the one that plays for chelsea)

The Express is reporting we going for Lacina Traore and Gaston Ramirez... I don't know much about either, but what I've seen of Ramirez I've liked. I hope the presence of Suarez and Coates could help get Ramirez to sign for us.

Gago would only cost £5-6m and is the best DM cover option, he is South American (Spanish speaking = fitting in with the team and lets not forget the manager) and I think he would love a chance at Liverpool.

alright eds. can people fill me in on gaston ramirez? I dont wanna base views on youtube obviously. Is he a top player? I hear 20mill being quoted, would that be good value for money compared to say, downing for example? I think your assessment of Ramirez is right. He isn't a winger, hes a playmaker who can get pushed wide. Like Silva or Nasri for City. If we could get a front three with Ramirez on the left, Suarez on the right and a legit finisher through the middle we'd be in good shape.

The problem is i read an article the other day where Ineista was saying that its the other teams that are boring and that Spain play positive football, He is correct but the problem Spain have now is that everyone is just going to park the bus against them and then the game becomes boring watching spain play it in front of the back 4 and waiting for an opening. Bayern see him as vital to their future so they'll want to keep hold of him.}

Sigurdsson will be a Liverpool player by early next week. Rodgers met with him again yesterday, offered him an improved contract which although it wasnt as lucrative as Tottenham's, he has accepted it because he prefers Liverpool and wants to work with Rodgers. He did have his head turned by Spurs due to the money but I think he and his agent just used their offer to get more off us. Trust me.

Is it me or would it make a lot more sense to involve Aqualani in a swap deal? I know a swap is slightly more difficult, but surely not impossible.
We have been linked to so many players based at Italian clubs over the last 18 months that I don't see why it hasn't happened.
Off the top of my head I can think of at least.
G. Rameriez Bologna 15-22 million.
E. Elia Juve 5-8 million.
S. Jovetic Fiorentina 18-25 million.
S. Kjaer Parma (I think) 8-10 million.
L. Castagounis Inter 6-9 million.
M. Krasic Juve 6 million.
and the list goes on. To me it makes perfect sense all round we have player who hasn't played for us for two years not wanted by the club, is a high earner we need to get off the wage bill, and who doesn't want to be there.
It suits all parties involved, and must be what all parties want.
He is still highly regarded in Italy and would interest most Italian clubs.
Why haven't we offered Aqualani as part of a deal for Krasic? Both players are in a similar position. Not wanted by their clubs and don't want to be at their clubs.
Ed is it really that complicated? We've had 2 years already to sort something out in this way.
I really don't want to see us loan him out again for a season and then get duped by another Italian club again.

It has to be an option for us to off load Aquilani. He doesnt want to play for us and he wants to play in Italy.
You sorta answered your own question, no one wants him on the wages he's after and no one wants to pay anything for him even when it's in a part exchange.
We're in the weakest possible position with him:
Injury prone
Doesn't want to be in england
High wages
Not in the greatest form
If he was a horse we'd take him round the back and shoot him.

However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Whoever offers the most money will get sigurdson it's as simple as that, if Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers want him then they could get him if they think he's worth it. This isn't a scenario were a bigger club is coming in to hijack a move, this is a case of a typical modern day footballer up for auction to the highest bidder, whoever offers him the most he will go to. Don't lose any sleep over it coz if we want we can easily compete with tottenham no two ways about it.
I think liverpool will have to move a lot faster in this market or loose out on a lot of targets i think spurs will start to buy big bring adam johnston quick. think these americans are looking a bit like hicks and gillet {Ed042's Note -The window hasn't even opened yet. If anything at Liverpool (over the last few months anyway) Andy has polished his game and has become much more of a complete striker than the battering ram he was at Newcastle. His transformation and the way he holds the ball is similar to Mario Gomez, and to a certain extent, Fernando Llorente.

The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level (20M euros might be an acceptable figure) I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Napoli and Roma interest is still there and rumours abound of Juventus and Malaga interest but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.
Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris St Germain have shown at least some level of interest in Athletic Bilbao's Markel Susaeta in the past few months. Right now nothing appears to be happening - perhaps after the Euros we will see some movement.}

Martin Skrtel says today that he has no intentions leaving lfc this window, he said no bid has been made and he has not talked to any other clubs. He is lookin forward to the next season, and says hopefully its going to be better than last, so i guess he wont be leaving unless a huge bid will tick in... Crappy news for Coates i guess.

Don't know how reliable footylatest.com are - never heard of them before - but they are reporting that we are after Kuban's centre forward Lacina Traore. Don't know why we'd need him - he's a big lad like Carroll (couple of inches taller actually) and we already have a good target man coming through the ranks in Michael Ngoo.

Lacina Traore is 2 classes above Carroll....and taller.
For his size, Lacina is lightning quick and very agile. He has decent technique and ball skills, too. Fantastic header of the ball that would fit a pass and move, tiki taka philiosophy.
Lacina is no english style target man, i guarantee you that.
And you watch the Russian League on a regular basis to come to that conclusion - or is it youtube based theory?

Eds what is the chances of Atleticos Adrian had a great first season with them and would make a valuable striking option for us at 24 his still young and plenty more years in him would fit into FSGs policy and with a 14million Buy out clause in his contract we wouldnt have to dig deep into our pockets. i know arsenal are keeping tabs on him but have you heard anything urself? {Ed005's Note - I've heard nothing in regards to Adrian but personally I don't see him being the type of striker Rodgers is looking for at the moment mate.}
