Allan and Digne will wrap up Liverpool's transfer business this summer. The club are now working hard to get excess players off the books with the striking department being the most over loaded place, Rickie Lambert is expected to leave this week while he will be shortly followed by Fabio Borini. Liverpool aren't finding it so easy to get rid of Mario Balotelli despite lowering the asking price to just half the £16m they paid for him last summer, the club are reluctant to loan but they may have no choice. Crystal Palace have reignited there interest in Jose Enrique and are readying a £3m bid. James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez, Nathaniel Clyne, Roberto Firminho, Christian Benteke, Allan de Souza and Lucas Digne have all been Brendan Rodgers choices, this is the first year he has had the full say on transfers, so this is really a make or break year for him, FSG clearly has a lot of faith in him and all in all it looks a good window.

I can't see Digne coming in.

I find it hard to believe these are all BR's choices. Seems more like the opposite nearly.

Allan is already at the club, he trained with the 1st team squad today.

29 Jul 2015 00:24:39
why would anyone pay 3m for enrique?

28 Jul 2015 23:32:51
Who's Allan? How old is he?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Just an 18 year old who may end up in the Academy team.}

29 Jul 2015 09:53:24
Rumour has it that at least two of the signings are directly as a result of Dave Fallows and Michael Edwards recommendations. Just saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You don't seem to be grasping how all of this works. That is their job.}

28 Jul 2015 18:33:07
Hi eds what's the latest with Lambert going to West Brom, have they made an offer yet?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new at this time.}

29 Jul 2015 12:44:24
West Brom, Leicester and whoever else is looking at Lambert, will wait as long as possible in the hope of getting him as cheap as possible, standard tactics.

Is it true Chelsea have an interest in Lucas Digne?

Just been reading on various sources it's between us and them for his signature.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea are in the process of adding players including a left back, but it is not Lucas Digne they are looking to.

PSG's Lucas Digne has requested a transfer due to lack of game time with AS Roma already placing an offer that was rejected, and Liverpool declaring an interest as well, but not at this time making an offer. Atletico Madrid made enquiries with his agent, but have since signed someone else. His agent says that he understands Galatasaray are also interested but they have not spoken to him or the club at this time. PSG don't really want to sell but are resigned to the fact that he can force a move and, if he does, they will seek what they paid for him. It remains unclear whether the player will look to force a move with a little backtracking from his agent when asked what was going on duringa discussion on Sunday night.}

28 Jul 2015 17:21:50
Hey ed, a speculative question of sorts - with Liverpool declaring an interest, in your opinion would that be as competition for Moreno, or rather a replacement? It would make sense to add a back up left back if Wisdom is getting loaned out AGAIN, but why would we bring an expensive player with expectations of playing time and large potential?
Sorry, I am just confused. Wouldn't mind Digne, but then again Alberto has the potential to become a very good LB, and I am already very unhappy with the treatment Marcovic is getting.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of the club looking to replace Moreno. Wisdom is nothing to do with it as Gomez can cover. O have no idea why Liverpool are looking at Digne, particularly as assurances have been given to Gomez. I cannot see any realistic decent future for the likes of Markovic at Liverpool. The club may see sense in the money they were looking for him but it would need a sudden change of direction for that to happen this summer.}

Andre Wisdom to Norwich on loan-confirmed on sky sports news

28 Jul 2015 16:16:29
why why why, what if clyne gets injured?

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jul 2015 16:27:03
Gomez has probably impressed enough to cover for both full-backs, which meant Wisdom needed to be loaned out, or have very little game time.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Jul 2015 16:52:26
Gomez cover for RB and hopefully Digne cover for LB

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Jul 2015 15:54:37
Hey ed01, have you heard anything about that? I would be really pissed off if I were in Wisdom's shoes. It would seem that Joe Gomez would be deputising the RB slot after all, which in turn means we ARE targeting a LB?
Strange days.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I really do not understand what the club is arsing about doing this for. They tell him he will get a chance and then fail to give him one.}

28 Jul 2015 18:55:27
I wish him well.
He's probably going to get plenty of defensive experience anyway.
I just hope that Norwich, and their young manager, aren't cast adrift by Xmas and AW gets all the confidence knocked out of him.
He needs to have a good year, otherwise it is hard to see where he would go from there.
At least the pies are nice at Norwich.

Wisdom hardly made the first 11 at WBA at the second half of last season , he is not worth keeping

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - did you watch West Brom after Mr Anti-football himself took over? No one under 6ft 11 made the backline. You might want to watch a player before spouting ignorant opinions based on a tit like Pulis not playing him.}

28 Jul 2015 21:44:10
What was the point of signing him to a new contract? Hope he does well at Norwich, but if I were him (and several other of our younger players) I'd probably not be too happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2015 23:06:49
Pretty annoying if he's signed a new contract based on false promises.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jul 2015 23:12:27
Better for him to get first team experience at centre half than bench experience at wing back

I have been thinking why LFC have been handing out deals to players in their early twenties, and then sending them out on loan. Wisdom has at least a chance of being in and around the first team, but Vigouroux (22), Ward (22), Stewart (22) are all players who will not kick a ball for LFC, who have been handed new deals. The only explanation I have is that they are trying to make a little profit out of these players, by first loaning them, and then selling him.

28 Jul 2015 08:18:22
WOW!!.

There's just no stopping us looking to bring young players in for the academy as we give Agustin Pereira and Juan Manuel Sanabria trials.

Not only have we invested in the first team we have been VERY busy trying to secure the players that will be for the future.

You mean the ones that will never get a chance!

28 Jul 2015 09:12:26
Fantastic, I just feel sorry for them, because at some point when they are ready to join the 1st team, we will probably just buy other 1st team players and not give them a chance.

28 Jul 2015 09:26:14
shame they won't get a game

28 Jul 2015 10:05:59
Isn't the purpose of the new coaching setup there to help bridge academy players into the first team? All you do is whine on this site.

28 Jul 2015 11:32:56
Trials are given to players regularly. This is nothing new. Also, it is worth noting it is only a trail and that they remain Nacional players. If they do well in the future, LFC may bring them back for another trial, perhaps even couple of games at youth levels in pre-season, and maybe then sign them.

What about the boys at the Academy. Cost nothing and want it so much more than kid from overseas. We should be pushing Lucas talent

{Ed002's Note - These things can be protracted, so it is not complete at this time.}

Ah yes I was wondering what happened with that. Looks promising although we already have Chirivella.
