As Macca said, Benzema, Young, Adam and Marveaux are close to signing. I expect at least 2 more signings, a DM and a CB/ LB. Possibly a right winger. So expect around 6/ 7 signings.

My mates in the band toploader and they were on Espn's talk of the terrace and kenny's daughter presents she says the stories of Carroll being asked to lose weight are infact true, and that young is pretty much a done deal.

I can't make sense of it the owners put bids in for young 16m, Adam 9m, Richards 20m even tho they splashed out on LS and AC. Maybe its not their philosophy but clearly they understand our squad is weak.


IBZ. {Ed001's Note - that is a totally different thing from splashing out huge sums for the sake of it though. They won't go out and buy a player just because he is flavour of the month, they will only buy what is needed.}

If all this rumour of Reina leaving for chelsea I'd say give us 15 m and P.cech and then put a bid in for begovic for 8-10m I think these two together could cover reina loss, just my opinion ur thoughts plz ed

Ed - rumours in L'Equipe about a 17mn bid by LFC for Michel Bastos. Have you heard about this? Would he bought in for left back or left wing? {Ed002's Note - I don't expect that Bastos will move to Liverpool.}

Ed do u think nesv do av the money to basically rebuild the squad in the summer or is it just gonna be get a player every now and then the strengthen the squad {Ed002's Note - The money to be made available by NESV will largely come in the first instance from money generated by the club, which needs to be self-sufficient as we all know. I think if you are expecting NESV to throw enormous sums of their own money in to transfers, you will have a bit of a long wait until that happens. I do however have no doubts that they will provided financing themselves as necessary.}

Ed, if Reina does leave for where ever. .who realisticaly would be brought in to replace him. . say if its (unlikely) another torres scenario last minute. everyone says go for nuer, adler or de gea but i think it would likely be a premiership keeper and i don't know why but asmir begovic may be a possibilty? would like to know what you think ed!

There has been a lot of talking about Reina today on this forum. I'm starting to believe that he'll go this summer (as the rest of you I hope he will go abroad).

There are however quite a few good keepers out there, like: Rui Patricio, Sergio Asenjo, Guillermo Ochoa, Manuel Neuer, Rene Adler, Joe Hart or perhaps Hugo Lloris.

What do you think ed? Can we get one of these if Reina leaves? Cause if so I'm gonna feel a little better. {Ed002's Note - Probably.}

Are you sure we are after a centre back? We have kept 7 clean sheets in our last 9 games. If we do get a center back I hope it isn't an overpriced and overrated English center back like Cahill. If there was 1 centre back I want it'd be Sakho, he's different class, I am sure Arsenal are keep an eye on him though.

Hi again Ed,

I made a pont a little way about half- an-hour ago about how the owners are buying players wwho have small contracts left and problems at there own clubs,

do you think therfore the signings of:
Adam- 8m
Benzema-20m
Young-15m
Marveaux-Free

will these be the only signing or can you see more, E.g a left back or M'villa or others? {Ed001's Note - as I keep saying, I expect a few more signings, most likely a centre back.}

I guess it was his fault for signing a new contract a couple months ago. Maybe if we don't get Benzema then Bojan would be up for consideration. I have a feeling Chelsea will get Bojan this summer.

Ed have you actually been told by a source that we are almost certain to sign adam , young , marveux? OR is it just your personal opinion? And also i think Benzema deal is very doubtful , but what do you think about the whole benzema saga? Also who do you think is likely to sign?

Itk Ed have you heard anything about Bojan from Barcelona? He's also said that he likes the premier league and Barcelona have rumored to be letting him go on loan. Cracking young player. I would just like to coment on the potential transfers of:
Adam
Young
Marveaux
Benzema.

All look likely and most eds and macca agree they probable will go ahead bar benzema( personal terms).

I feel the new owners need to be complemented on these transfers.
They have found good players, who with a large contract would cost 20 million say.
But by selecting these players who are cheaper the fans are going to get quantity of quality players.

Not just one 30m+ player, eg a sanchez
4 classy players who all have problems eg, contract, pecking order meaning we can improve our squad for comparatively little money.#

Do you see what i am getting at Ed.
They don't spend city esq
But we get the star player we want and need.

that sounds promising , but do you think that kenny will want him ed? cause i think that benzema may be more of a comolli target but i do think kenny knows who benzema is and will probably know that he does have talent. also the likes of gervinho is again a comolli target more than a kenny target ( kennys targets are the likes of ayoung , c.adam , carroll etc ) i get the feeling that comollis is ( gervinho , benzema , marveux , mvila , hazard , matuidi )

Ed what would you rate at our chances of getting karim benzema? you say we are in talks with him , i think he will want 1st team football definatly but with suarez n carroll how would we get them 3 all playing cause they will all want to play, but if we could get him then what a strike force for next season i think that could easily put us up there challenging for the title with the likes of suarez carroll n benzema all at a decent age have massive potential. do you know if he is unhappy at real? also would real be willing to let him go? perhaps they could turn adebayors loan deal into a permanent n then when higuain is fit they may let benzema go.

yeah your right ed i know charlie adam isn't the quickest i didn't mean that to say that he was quicker than lucas but charlie adam to me is a leader and would give so much more than lucas , charlie adam is the equivalent to west hams scott parker. that's good then i hope we do get both cause mvila could be a world class dm , and least we will have a player there that actually players there unlike at the moment we have lucas who isn't naturally a dm , mvila could protect the back four and allow gerrard , meireles/ adam to get forward.

also ed is the info you have on ashley young and charlie adam deals reliable? i really hope this is true , people don't rate ashley young well he got another 2 goals at the weekend , keep watching people he will win you over , remember he has premiership experience unlike players like elia and marin.

i think john aldrige gave away some of liverpools transfer targets when he posted on twitter about torres £50m leaving could be a rebuilding job with liverpool moving for carroll , ashley young , adam , cahill and i can't member any one else he wrote but it seems like he got it spot on so far. {Ed001's Note - I don't know about Cahill, sorry. The info I have on Young and Adam is reliable, the Adam one has also been backed up by a couple of the Blackpool fans we have on the sites.}

because i personally think we could ship out poulsen and lucas ( lets be honest hes not too bad but he is a weak link don't care what anybody says , he has improved but he is no gerrard or meirles or charlie adam , hes so slow , so weak ) also i think spearing could maybe make way , that way that would leave us with mvilla gerrard meireles c.adam shelvey and coady coming through , much stronger than our current midfield and if kenny wants to play 3cms next season we need better players in there cause yesterday that was the difference between west ham n liverpool , west ham had scott parker and hitzelsperbger and our midfield just dint wanna know.

So Pepe Reina was interested in joining Arsenal (If they bid) in the summer, During a Spanish radio interveiw he never denied he'd be tempted by Man Utd, Now we hear Chelsea are in for him and there is a clause in his contract, I may be jumping the gun a little here but Ed do you think it a) Is a sign he wants to leave, b) A big hint to Liverpool, to invest in quality or sell him.

Ed you've said that spanish teams are forced to sell due to rising debt, euro not doing very well and tv money is very bias towards top 2 teams. Then how come Tottenham offer 35 million for Rossi, Llorente, they offered 38.5 million for Aguero and offered 17 milion million for Forlan and yet all there bids got rejected? Spain have a lot of quality players in thier top 8 teams and thought we should try to go after a few because the players know they will never achieve anything there untill Barcelona domance falls and the tv money is fairer {Ed001's Note - two reasons, one it is January and teams don't want to sell then, especially when bids are received late and they won't be able to replace players. Two Spurs are not well known as a huge club, the players don't want to go to a club they don't know if it will do well again. If they can do sustain their current levels of success they will have a much better chance of attracting players.}

Well I feel angry towards Liverpool because we shouldn't be selling star players to rivals. Do united sell star players to Chelsea, Arsenal or us? No they don't.

I think the clause stories are true and with at least 2/ 3 clubs going after him, it'd be very hard to convince him to stay. Rumored to be 20 million for him, which if true is brilliant value for them. We can't replace with with as good quality for that amount. Be sad to see him go, especially after him staying through the bad times. I do believe he'll leave in the summer, hopefully he'll go abroad so we don't strengthen our opponents. He didn't even blame Torres for leaving which seems like the biggest thing that has convinced me he's leaving.

Will be sad to see a player leave, guess he lost faith and patience in our ability to win trophies if he does leave.

Who would be the best replacement around? I would like:

Ed, this is what makes me angry. Turan is a better player, available and really wants to come but we go for a 26 year old who just has pace. Ed, are man u interested in young or anyone else?

Just because we are going for Young doesn't mean we won't be looking in to acquiring Turan as well. We need AT LEAST 2 wingers on this squad, preferably 3. Adding in Young, Turan and Marveaux would be a great start for our squad.

NESV will be looking to spend some money this summer, and with the addition of whatever funds we can round up through players sales, it wouldn't be outrageous to think we would add in 5-6 players. Charlie Adam, 2-3 wingers, a striker and a full back could be in order for the summer.

Adam, Young and Marveaux can all be added for a total of around 15-18 mil. That money will be easily re-cooped through the sales of Aqua man, Poulsen, Konch and a couple of others. The owners can spend their own money to bring in the other 2-3 players. There should be lots of competition for our starting XI next season.

I was referring to new moves, the scouts will be given the time to check out other targets over the coming months just in case.}
