He worked under a dof for all of his career did he not? Seems like the press stirring the pot

Pretty sure Klopp prefers to take a backward seat when it comes to transfers

It does seem as if there may be some truth in the rumours that lfc have at some time been advised that klopp would not be a good fit.
However, I do wonder whether the opinions of those same advisers have lost some credibility with the owners, if one assumes they are the same people who advised the owners to keep rodgers on.

It now seems as if the owners have decided to at least sound out some alternatives, and in their eyes that will mean hanging on to rodgers was a poor judgement.
They have to rely heavily on these people to make sound decisions with the massive investments they are making, and I also wonder- if it is true that Ian Ayre strongly advocated for keeping rodgers- whether Ayre's own position will now be called into question, based on him making what now looks like a bad decision?

Exactly! Klopp never full control of anything at BVB and worked with club legend Michael Zorc as DOF and he's always been hailed for his humility and respect for others so I think there's nothing to see there.

Thank God the Eds are here to educate us because NO manager at a big club, has full control of transfers so if that's what Klopp's looking for then he'll be waiting for a long time.

Ayre should go too. Or be demoted

I think a few a blowing the horn too soon or reading too much into what is been said. What if it is a Dof he prefers to that of our no clear transfer committee.
Cheers.

By the way, said transfer commitee has the club's manager as the deciding voice on who gets signed so doesn't that make him in full control of transfers?

Regardless of how credible this article is, this does not explicitly state that jurgen would refuse to work with a DoF. Working with a DoF and transfer committee are quite different things.

Honestly at this point I'd near enough sack the whole committee once BR goes (Gordon excepted as he's not likely to sack himself). Just feels like we need a wholesale rebuild yet again as it seems to me there are a lot of things off about the club with Rodgers simply being the most visible.

Good game from the team. Nice to see us attacking and creating chances.
Looks like BR is on for one more game at least.
Though I like the way we played, Can is clearly not suited for CB. I would rather we bench him than play him there.
It's really no point in discussing defense under BR because he has no aptitude for it but at least we played some fast flowing attacking football and got few goals.

Looks like we've gone back to the pressing system of old. Finally a few goals and creativity for the fans to cheer about.

However, looking at this formation, it requires a huge amount of work for Moreno and Clyne to get up and down the wings.

Looking at our squad, if one of them gets injured, I don't see anyone being able to fill in as a wing back. Enrique is clearly unfavoured, Flanagan is more of a full back in the traditional sense. Unless you shoehorn Ibe in there, which I'm not sure about, an injury to Moreno or Clyne may have to see a formation change. I hope we target an attacking full back in January. Sam Byram would be perfect for this and has an expiring contract I believe so wouldn't be massively expensive.

I also like 1-2 in midfield and while Lucas was good yesterday, there will be games where a bit more power, pace and mobility will be required in that holding role. I love Lucas and his passion for the club but I think we do need an upgrade in the near future.

And we need another goalkeeper.

Still, glad with the win and performance and also happy for Rodgers that a bit of pressure is relieved. I just hope he shuts up now and gets on with managing the football club rather than talking a dire game in the media.

It's nice going into the derby in a decent position as well, a win would probably put us in the top four, wrap Sturridge up in cotton wool for it. Such a great player that we need fit.

What planet are you living kon. Evidently you didn't go to the game. We were terrible, the biggest defensive shambles you've ever seen. It's a good job villa are so poor otherwise we would have been smashed. I like to remain positive, a win is a win granted. . However, that was terrible whichever way you look at it. Rodgers out now, and save our season

Spot on, Welshkop! I know people wanna be positive but as long as BR is around and even if we are winning games, you just know he'll screw up again and it might be too late to sack him and he'll find someone else to blame for it as he always does. There's not much to be positive about under BR even in a win because as shown yesterday, it's always nervy, heart in mouth and uncordinated till the end
