Hi Eds, sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't see it mentioned anywhere but what will happen to Gary Medel now that Cardiff have been relagated, not sure what you think Eds but I think he'd be a quality player for Liverpool and I'm certain that Liverpool have shown no interest in him whatsoever, unfortunately

Believable4 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Gary Medel will move with Valencia, Parma and Malaga interested.}

Hello Eds,

One question: now that Mauricio Pochettino has left Southampton for Spurs, do you think players like Lallana and Shaw will leave? Does his departure make Liverpool's job a little easier in getting Lallana?

Apologies if am repeating the questions!

Thanks a ton!

Regards, Ashish

Believable15 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - His leaving makes no difference to the players leaving. Until any other club makes an acceptable offer for a player that player will remain at Southampton. however, they have a number of players who have been playing very well and that will and is attracting the interest of other clubs - Lallana, Shaw, Lovren, Cork and Schneiderlin are all going to be subject to offers this summer. You can add to that Jay Rodriguez if he can get fit before the transfer window closes.}

27 May 2014 21:24:23
I would be more worried that he will follow his boss to Spurs.
I guess the key here is Champions League football.

28 May 2014 08:06:52
Could Ed002 confirm whether Spurs are now interested in Lallana?

Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I can't imagine that they have made any approach overnight. Give it a little time.}

28 May 2014 08:07:38
Ed002,

Have Liverpool shown interest in any of the players that you mentioned above.
I know a read the posts comment is likely to happen, but was just wondering if you could round up Liverpool's interest in all potential Southampton players now.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - This has been done to death.}

Barcelona president has said Sanchez is not for sale at any price.
Lets put that one to bed.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona will listen to attractive offers for Alexis Sanchez and Juventus have been given a price by Barcelona.}

Any idea what that price is?
If 25m is laughable then we can rule out him coming here.
They looking for a stupid fee for Pedro also?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - We are not going to get in to discussing the money - it just confuses everyone.}

Sanchez IS available and recent stories from numerous articles/sources are saying Juve bid this weekend that offer has been laughed at by Barca so still open to realistic offers.

Hey eds,

Just wanted to know whether the club are interested in getting both xherdan shaqiri and adam lallana

Believable11 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I don't know but there is interest in both.}

27 May 2014 16:20:30
Eds if Lallana deal goes through, do you know if BR will still be looking for a wide forward? Or does he see him as a winger and would still be on the look out for a central midfielder? Or, alternatively, his versatility covers both?

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - He is certainly versatile but I don't know what Rodgers is thinking in respect of how he would use him.}

28 May 2014 08:33:54
As we saw last season BR likes to play with a fluid front 4 and values players who can interchange in different positions within that. Midfield options could look something like this next season: Gerrard/Can, Henderson/Allen, Coutinho/Lallana, Sterling/Shaqiri.

Afternoon fellas,

Heard a few weeks back that Muniain might be an option? Gone quiet now so I just assume it was paper talk.

If we aren't interseted is it likely he will move.

Cheers!

Believable5 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - He might well move, but Liverpool has shown no interest.}

27 May 2014 10:45:43
any news on caner erkin?

Believable3 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Fenerbahce and Caner Erkin struggled in their initial discussions over extending his contract which runs out this summer. Liverpool have certainly considered him and he does have a good reputation. Chelsea, Inter, Hannover 96, Arsenal and Roma have also had him watched. I understand he has a very high signing on fee and wage demands and that put off a potential deal with Inter - and he may well now stay with Fenerbahce as they continue discussions.}

I would't take him. Would rather keep Enrique and I'd play Flanno there ahead of him.

I think BR would like to bring in Lallana, Shaquiri and Can.

Believable38 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - This is a post worth stuffing and putting on display Harry - for once I think you are right.}

27 May 2014 10:05:30
Which 1 is the lb br is obviously looking for Harry?.

Agree1 Disagree1

Nearly a perfect window that just add rojo

Agree2 Disagree0

What fees will they command though Harry? Haha just kidding!

Agree1 Disagree0

Harry do you mean BR would like to bring in Lallana and Saqiri and CAN manage it?

Agree2 Disagree0

I would be psyched if that's what we brought in. I think changing the group too much too fast could hurt us overall, but we definitely need increased numbers to deal with CL responsibilities. I would like to see a defender come in but we have a lot of options there so I'd expect someone to leave first (Agger?)

Agree1 Disagree0

Add rojo onto that list and I think your spot on Harry.
Also that would be an amazing window if Brendan pulled that off.

Agree1 Disagree0

I will be surprised if we got Lallana AND Shaqiri. I think it is one or the other.

Gday Eds,
With Sterling our only 1st team wideman can you see us signing 2 of our wide targets? eg: Konoplyanka & Tello?

Thanks!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I suspect it is unlikely and would think that perhaps Ibe would be given some sort of chance occasionally if not sent on loan. Liverpool have not spoken with Dnipro about Konoplyanka since January. Tello's representatives are in discussions with another club over a move for the player.}

27 May 2014 10:43:54
Yeah I'd thought Ibe would be given a seaon on loan somewhere better than Brum once somebody is signed in his position. LW does seem to be a position we're looking at so, considering what you said about the other 2, who seems favoured now? Tadic perhaps?

Thanks.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot say who is "favourite" but there is certainly serious interest in Shaqiri.}

27 May 2014 13:58:31
Cool thanks Ed002. Sorry if that question was sent multiple times, having interweb problems.

Agree1 Disagree0

Suso will come back and Ibe might come back too

Liverpool's opening offer of 23m for Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez has proved 'not enough' as barca are firm on there 25m valuation.
There's been a bid? Ed2

Believable2 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - There has been a bid, but not from Liverpool. The numbers are laughable - Twitter?}

I really don't understand how anyone believes Barca will sell Sanchez cheaply. Have you seen him play for Udinese? that guy was incredible. Its actually kinda sad to see him play in Barca, as he was a much much better player in Udinese.

Agree1 Disagree0

Is it Juventus Ed?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes but they are miles apart financially.}

I know u don't like to talk money edd2 but what price range would u say he was in mate.cheers

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I think you answered that yourself.}

Barcelona want to sell him, yes. But what people don't seem to understand is that they're selling to fund signings of their own. They will want a lot of money for him and Pedro. You can forget about 25m that's for sure.

Morning eds hope you are well just wondering with the inevitible appointment of pochettino to spurs do you see spurs now being in the running for lallana also are we even still interested or have we dropped ours because we don't wanna pay what they are asking for I hope not would be a brilliant signing hope for some good news while I eat my bacon buttie

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - Lallana was happy to stay at Southampton, when it seemed the club was looking to progress. It really comes down to how he would view the manager leaving. If he believes that Poch is going because he is not going to get the backing to take the club forward, he may well see that a cue to leave. Unfortunately, the only person that knows for sure is the lad himself. Until recently Lallana has been perfectly happy at Southampton, I don't know for sure if this would change that or not.}

27 May 2014 08:56:20
hi eds,

-Any news from lfc on Micah Richards? Seems a good target for right back and center back position.
-Heard we are looking for Vorm to compete with mignolet for gk position. any other name to be consider?
-do you expect Adam Lallana move to lfc go through eds?

tqvm.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - Richards has significant issues, a big time charlie attitude, that has led to him being available. It is also why there has been little interest, as the lad, despite barely being fit in years, thinks he deserves a huge wage. I expect him to take a reality check and settle for less in time, but I very much doubt we will be in the running even then, we have no need of a right sided centre back or a right back.
Ed002 has mentioned Navas as being another possible GK, we have looked at a few this season.
Myself I don't expect it to go through, but it depends on the lad and his desire. If/when Pochettino leaves, then he might well be keen on a move and push it through, as it would be a sign the club is not as ambitious as it claimed to be.}

27 May 2014 08:50:22
Any truth in the newspaper reports that we are interested in Yannick Bolasie?

Can play on either wing and only a year on his contract.

Can you see him bulking the squad for next season Ed001?

vrcomp
Y.N.W.A.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - not heard of any interest in him from us. The only team I know of that was showing an interest was Sunderland.}

I think the kid could b a good buy, and still at a young age, hmmmmmm

Hi Eds,

How long is BR's new contract?

Thanks Eds for all your work and for keeping this website running. I can't help but keep thinking in my mind, "How does Eds seem to know almost everything in football world?". Would be very happy to know that because it had been in my mind for a very long time!

And, how is Macca doing now? Haven't heard from him for a few months now.

Thanks in advance Eds

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I am told it is a rolling 5 year contract, not sure what exactly is meant by the rolling bit in this case though.

Last time I spoke to Macca he was fine, that was a couple of months ago now though.}

A rolling contract in mobile phone terms is where is is for a month at a time say, and it can just be stopped at any time by either party. If this means he doesn't have to sign a new contract after 5 years, it just keeps going every five years until one party has had enough, which seems odd, then I have no idea personally.

Whether everyone thinks it's balls or not I just been told by a reliable source that remy is looking very likely to be a Liverpool player next season!? Supposedly Liverpool have placed a bid of 8 mil. Just wondering if the eds could shed some light on the situation!?
I've tried the search function but it doesn't say nothing about it.
Hopefully u guys can help!

I would be thrilled if we brought in Remy. If anyone has actually watched him play more than just a few times they would know the kind of ability he has. He can play as a lone striker or anywhere across the front. He has played on average teams for the most part, but given a chance in our attacking, fluid team, he will excell. World class talent and potential at a fair price. sturridge, coutinho anyone?

Agree1 Disagree2

I'd consider him a definite upgrade to Aspas on the bench, an upgrade I'd expect Rodgers would actually be willing to play (that is of course if we are interested). He'd be a good signing for the squad depending on his wages.

Agree2 Disagree0

If we could get most of what would paid for Aspas back (or at the very least loan him to a Premiership club) and then bring in Remy, our attacking options would look really good. Imagine Suarez and Sturridge actually being able to rest! lol.
