Please post Eds.

I have it on good authority that JH will be traveling to Liverpool tomorrow and Kloop will named the new manager either Monday or Tuesday. Remember this.

CamJFT96

100% Rodgers ;)

If you had this news on good authority then surely you would get the managers name right. Who is kloop

All very true others have been a smoke screen klopp to be announced after Martinez says he's staying at Wigan

It's clear who's been on Twitter all night.

Or you just read it on Moose twitter...

Cheerio

Been reading the moose from talksport's twitter i see

Klopp has ruled us out ? you mad ?

If Louis van Gaal gets DOF then it makes perfect sense...Hope you right mate..

Copied from Ian Abrahams from talksport on twitter. Yawn.

Sorry my auto corrector changed from klopp to kloop. Yes I am aware of the mouses twitter but this has come from a closer source of mine. He lives in Boston and has done a few 'favors' for FSG. They have interviewed Martinez however are unwilling to take the risk as they feel this decision is make or break for them. I know Klopp ruled himself out however everyone can be persuaded by money and if you recall FSG offered the biggest salary for a manager in BB however it was turned Down. Who is to say they haven't done exactly the same here?

CamJFT96 {Ed016's Note - It's not Klopp, I'm sorry, but soon you guys will know)

Ed016 if you are referring to the Martinez press conference on Tuesday it Martinez announcing he is staying with Wigan. In the end the two parties came to a mutual agreement he was the wrong man at the wrong time.

CamJFT96 {Ed016's Note - No I am not referring to that at all}

Now that's just evil, Ed016! Can we get a hint? Does his name rhyme with 'Jartinez'?

RDL {Ed016's Note - My feeling is Martinez turned down the job. Hence why he is holding a press conference at Wigan and not at Liverpool}

Erm... who is it then, Ed016?

I hope your 'sorry' isn't an apologetic sort of sorry, meaning Martinez...

Dr S.Atire. {Ed016's Note - It's not Martinez and it's not Klopp}

Ed 16... Who is it mate {Ed016's Note - I can't say yet, but I know it's not Klopp and Martinez is very unlikely, there were a few issues when he met the owners. Especially fans reaction being a big issue, this is a big decision for the owners and so they have not decided yet. That is why I can not give you a name}

Ed016 - Can you please elaborate?? You know for sure Klopp is not an option? Thanks for keeping us in the loop Eds

{Ed016's Note - I know Klopp was approached and he said very firmly No and dedicated his future to his current club. Nothing is concrete yet, therefore I do not want to put out info. Once I hear something solid I will let you guys know.}

What about Michael Laudrup Eds? {Ed016's Note - He is a possibility}

ED016 I appreciate the update, so if its not martinez! Then surely that rules out rodgers, as surely he is no better! do you feel fsg may listen to the fans and consider rafa? thanks pal if you could clarify!! {Ed016's Note - Rafa has not been approached at all. I do not believe he will be}

Fair enough, Ed016- thanks for responding!

RDL

So Ed016, does that mean that the manager will be foreign then? (i.e not from GB and northern ireland?) Thanks {Ed016's Note - Yeah, I think Rogers is unlikely}

Are we looking at laudrup for manager with van gaal as dof?
*crosses fingers*

Will it be van gaal? or our owners just want him be the DoF?

Macca claims Rodgers was next in line should Klopp reject us, so probably gonna be him.
RedSam

So it´s Rodgers then...crap...another Woy...sooo sick

ED016......You mention Laudrup is a possibility. All gone quiet on AVB, Van Gaal and De Boer, do you think any of these three are still in with a shout? If so, who would you prefer?
Leffeman101 {Ed005's Note - It is really hard to say who is in with a shout mate, I think FSG are happy to let 4 or 5 potential names be passed around in the media so that they can get on with it discreetly. Who it will be I couldn't call. My first choice would be Klopp, I think he's a top class manager. After that I'd be happy with Villas-Boas or Brendan Rodgers. I like Laudrup aswell but like them three. One person I don't want is Roberto Martinez.}

Lucas leiva is a great example of a player written of to early i have a feeling carroll and henderson will be better next season i also hope raheem sterling plays more often next year that boy is quality. Also thanks for your info macca always the 1st page i read neverforgetthe96

Mate spot on the two lad's WILL come good.I have posted here before to get off the lad's back's,i have said it&i will stick by what ive said bout the two lad's,all the needed was a chance to settle in...YNWA!!

I couldn't agree more, Al tho I thing Henderson when played in the right position might be a very good player but that is all hell be, hell never be a replacement for sg. Sterling I hope is giving a good chance in preseason, the lad is not far of ready, Thanks Rafa you weren't a great manager but you gave us a s**t hot youth squad.

I hope Raheem isnt brought along too quickly with too much expectation.

Com'on, we did not buy Lucas for 16 mill or 35 mill. stop comparing Lucas with Hendo and Andy. They ruined our last season. Why would pay a fortune for a player who will not come good in the current season - Jesusly

Yup , spot on, they do show desire to play for liverpool, and many good moments as well as bad but being young, 1st season with new club, signed for future but hurriedly thrown into the fire, and most of all, kenny never got his tactics n formation right , that made it even harder
, they are englands future n hopefully liverpools too.

I still don't think Lucas is good enough so that sums up my feelings towards the other players you mention.

Sterling,could like come along nicely like Oxlade Chamberlain if handled in the right way.Who-ever the new manager may be?I'm sure they won't expect to much of him to soon.

Totally agree. Henderson has makings of quality player. And if Carroll keeps up how he is playing now then happy days. Young Sterling will get more games

27 May 2012 22:41:14
Ed, do you know if we are talking to Boudebouz?

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - Ryad Boudebouz will leave Sochaux with Real Betis and Lyon showing an interest. Way back in the day interest was shown by PSG, Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. Lyon would seem to be the most likely destination right now although he is one of the two players that I understand Liverpool have recently asked to be kept informed of.}

Ed002 who is the other player? {Ed016's Note - A few people are asking the same question. Please wait on an answer)

Whats the other player ed?

Square tomato {Ed016's Note - About 20 people have asked this question, Please no more asking, just wait for an answer)

Boudebouz has recently stated Liverpool have been talking to sochaux/ his agent about a move this summer

Can you tell me who the other one is, Ed mate?

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - Rasmus Elm Blair.}

Thanks again Ed002.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - You are most welcome Blair.}

27 May 2012 22:27:16
I've used the search option and it hasn't helped me with my query, Eds do we have any know interest in Nick Powell and if we do, do you have any idea of our chances of signing him? Thanks {Ed002's Note - Manchester United seem to be most keen.}

27 May 2012 22:09:39
Any chance of signing seedorf on a free in the summer. Huge experience to help out do a couple of years. What's your opinion eds? {Ed001's Note - we don't need him. No longer good enough and he is far too much trouble, especially when there is new management coming in.}

Im guessing you dont watch serie a, seedorf constantly provided goals, and scored many this year, he still is class, id love him in our squad any day over crap adam

Trouble? Seedorf? seems such a nice fella ED?

Would this constitute as a knee jerk reaction, after watching a T.V. ex-pros and celebs exhibition football match by chance? :)

Seedorf can go and get big money in China, Middle East or maybe even Russia, if he wants too.

A classy player who's winding down a very good career.

Ha ha wat?? how about johny wilks or ben sheperd!! wat a joke

Someone watched socceraid and thought Seedorf was a world beater playing against a bunch of celebrities...he's too old, would command high enough wages, wouldn't feature enough, doesn't fit within the plan, he just played as part of 'retired' footballers, he's too old. Did I miss anything? Oh yeah, he's retired.

Cheers,
TommyB

27 May 2012 21:51:26
I know this is a random question but when Kevin Phillips was younger did liverpool ever have any interest in him.

27 May 2012 21:31:34
Can anyone provide any external links to any of the rumours surrounding players handing in transfer requests? Seems like every man and his dog wants out at the moment. Haven't seen anything on the Echo site which leads me to believe it's all bull.

27 May 2012 21:12:12
ed, do you think if maxi or kuyt are sold could we possibly get Hoilett.

paul barry {Ed002's Note - Right now I suspect Hoilett is heading elsewhere.}

Maxi goin for free, get £3m for kuyt at least.wouldnt want hoilet tho wud rather ramirez

scrapper fegan

Someone i work with is friends with junior hoilett and she says that the 2 EPL clubs interested in him are arsenal and newcastle

27 May 2012 21:05:51
Hey guys we have been linked with Ryad boudebouz when kenny was gaffer and again today now, anybody seen him play properly ? If so could you please give a little description of what type of player he is please? Cheers

G BOX

Dribbler good winger can cross scores and gives assists however is not strong on the ball not very quick anddiesent track back

Fast, skillful player with a good long shot and free kick.

Type his name into youtube and watch a couple of clips. Just a thought, then you can make your own mind up. But again, youtube tends to have the ''best of'' so keep that in mind to keep things in context.

Hes a very tricky right sided winger with plenty of pace and great vision who will make and score plenty of goals for who ever he joins.Hes got the potential to be a brilliant player and its well known over here in france that Steve Hitchens has been watching him for a while and is a massive fan of his.I watch alot of french football and hes one of the players from the league that l would love to see join
TED

You don't need to be strong on the ball in the EPL anymore, and at half the price of downing? he would of been a much better signing for us. Maybe he would even have a assist to his name, who knows...
bri tehred

He's basically Ryan Babel, and look how we ruined him. {Ed016's Note - Ryan was quite capable of ruining it all for himself}

27 May 2012 20:53:58
Hey eds, great work as ever, I have to say I think that the transfer request story is nonsense but should pepe wish to leave we would have to hold out for a top fee for him which could be used to tempt other top keepers. The other thing I wanted to mention and value your opinion on is should a press conference be held on tuesday regarding Martinez, why would it be held at Wigan and not Anfield/Melwood as some reports suggest? Best wishes eds, YNWA

Exactly what I tried to ask earlier, have a feeling we will get some proper info soon...

It would have to be hugo lloris

Only liverpool fc will announce their next manager not dave whelan who seems to be on a press blitz

27 May 2012 18:49:01
Sochaux midfielder Ryad Boudebouz has revealed that Liverpool are one of the clubs chasing his signature.
"Certainly, my agent is in talks with some clubs, particularly in France, but there is still nothing concrete," he said.

"There is also Liverpool, who have initiated discussions with my agent, but at the risk of repeating myself, everything is in the discussion stage, no more."

If this is a true statement, I suppose all the "How can we sign anyone without a manager?" comments will come to an end.

R-LFC {Ed016's Note - NOBODY IS BEING SIGNED BEFORE A NEW MANAGER & DOF IS BROUGHT IN!!! His agent was more likely contacted in January and this is a recycled story)

27 May 2012 18:42:05
sky sports reporting that boudebouz says we have initiated some talks with his agent along with several french clubs

Sky bet going mad then.

Mighty reds

Could be true. could be false. noone knows but i doubt its true considering we havent got a manager in place yet.Once a manager is appointed they will want to draw up their own shortlist. And this is probably just been made up by his agent speaking to reporters to bump up interest for him.

27 May 2012 18:40:45
edd do u reckon martinez would be sensitive to wigan in regard of taking some of their players , couldnt imagine whelan be best pleased if we were to try get mc carthy, any chance of dembele from fulham also??them 2 would really strengthen the midfield as theyre quality players
5 gold stars {Ed001's Note - I have no idea.}

27 May 2012 18:38:16
Hi there eds..
Last night the norwegian right wing tormented bains the whole evening.
Tarik Elyounoussi.

Whats your opinion on the player?
Any teams interested? {Ed001's Note - no idea, sorry, I have no interest in England so never saw the match and have not seen the player play. Nor have I heard his name mentioned before last night.}

Baines gets tormented every week mate, don't sound too surprised or impressed by a Norwegian no mark.........

Henriksen looked good!

Tarik is an ok player, what you saw yesterday is Tarik as his best. Unfortunatly he is pretty inconsistent. He played in Holland for a couple of years or so, but didn't do so well. He is not good enought.

He has been playing in Holland for Heerenveen, but he never really become the star he was thought to be, he was on fire the year before he went to eresdivision and he is on his way back Now as he has come back to Fredrikstad FK

Nice thinking there ed like it

As unremarkable as England were, especially after Gerrard went off, I don't recall anyone being tormented.

27 May 2012 18:34:16
i hear that suarez is leaving. i think there is a good possibility of this if the right team turns his head with a decent offer. what do you reckon?

No chance of him leaving Y.N.W.A

As the Ed's would say, use the search facility.
Getting fed up with doom and gloom mongers.

Its already doom and gloom if martinez is best our owners are going to get. Still martinez should be safe from relagation for once in his prem life.

Some people (won't call them fans) get sadistic pleasure by manufacturing and spreading such rumours.

--yep they do, and others get off on knocking potential managers although they have know idea what they are talking about.
Ferguson almost got MU relegated before he won anything.
I am beginning to think we have the most narrow minded, miserable bunch of fans in the league.

27 May 2012 18:12:19
what all this about Liverpool and QPR slugging it out for defoe any truth in this?

Do u mean slagging it?

Mighty reds

Hope not

Billynwa

Id take him...could really offer something for the reds

Hope its not true, we don't need another striker that doesn't score enough goals

Why would we be going after Defoe? No manager, no DOF........plus we don't need any more average English players!
Leffeman101

Load of blox.

Unfortunately 2 pairs of yonks controlling this club have reduced us to gossiping about taking a bit player well past his best. No longer are we looking to bring in Europe's best and we do not have the pulling power. Devastated by what's happened to this great club over the last 3 years and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Wouldn't surprise me if we brought in Avram Grant as manager with Christian Gross as director of football. Hopeless and feeling back to how it was when Woy was in charge.

Let them have him

Puzzled

Please... If we signed him all you numpties would all of a sudden say, 'lets get behind the player', 'we are Liverpool we don't not get behind player'. etc. Basically what most have done with Martinez.

If liverpool and QPR are slugging it out for Defo time to take a dive and let them have him

27 May 2012 18:07:50
I don't even know if we will have the money for these players but realistically these players can come to Liverpool and I believe that they will push to top 4
1. Gatson Ramirez, valued £16ml
2. Luuk De jong, valued £12mil
3. Younes Belhanda, £15mil

Editors are these players available this summer ? are they realistic targets for Liverpool ?

Miccmak {Ed002's Note - They are available and have been discussed at length. If you use the search function you will see.}

27 May 2012 17:51:18
Michel Bastos, Niko Kranjcar, Mamadou Sakho, Hoillett, Moses, Diame i would like to see all theses join or as many as possible what do you think Edd???? {Ed005's Note - No, No, No, No, No, Possibly.}

Personally i would say a big yes to moses. more creative than the likes of downing

Most of them players better than the attacking tripe we currently possess. So yes to most, but we'd never get some of them.

27 May 2012 17:45:59
Is there a good chance that Skrtel and Suarez will leave or is it just speculation?

Why you say good chance, you have already 41 unbelievable.

Arvin

27 May 2012 17:17:00
eds what about Bryan Gaul, promising young player {Ed002's Note - How would he get a work permit?}

That's a bit harsh ed02! He was only asking?
Ben {Ed002's Note - How is it harsh? What would you rather I say, "Yes, nailed on"?}

I thought maybe you could have give an indication why a work permit could be an issue? I know you must get 'narked' with all the random rumours, but I've never heard of this guy and your opinion on why a work permit would have been a problem would have been well received. Thanks for the reply anyway. X
Ben {Ed002's Note - He would not meet the criteria for a work permit.}

Btw he plays for LA

27 May 2012 17:16:28
If Reina does leave, i feel that Handanovic, Lopez would be suitable, cheap options. But the question now is which reina would need reina?

What does your question even mean?

To answer your question I guess Mr. Reina needs Mrs. Reina and vive versa

Classic post!
Bro Ken Rijkaard

27 May 2012 17:11:36
Hi eds
is Barnetta available during thw summer as he was quite impressive in the match against germany. Would be a quality replacement for kuyt or maxi {Ed002's Note - Barnetta is available on a free - and may well join Newcastle or Borussia Monchengladbach.}

27 May 2012 17:06:20
why is any one believing that a player handed a transfer request all because a guy called THE INSIDER posted it use the search function to see his success rate its zilch nada not one right he has said oh maybe charlie adam was coming but it weren,t a well kept secret he predicted jelavic lukaku sturridge park chu young and jovetic and none of them came every 1 getting thee knickers in a twist by a guy with a 0% strike rate

He did say Kenny wud get sacked about a month ago but to b fair I agree with u!

I've heard a lot of peole say Kenny was gonna leave and I wouldn't call them a reliable source..

Kenny getting the sack was 50/50 anyway so no more than a guess getting the players who are joining right is much harder and he has a 0% strike rate

RED KENNY

He's got his head inside something, up his own b*m h*le! Probally pacheco if any 1 as put a transfer request in, coz he put his foot in it, when he went on loan, thinking he weren't going back! Duece bag!

27 May 2012 16:56:54
Is there any chance that Suarez is trying to engineer an exit by bringing up the 'race row' again? He was probably only answering questions but he could have been more diplomatic if he wanted it to go away ?

Nah, he's just more honest than other players

27 May 2012 16:49:15
Any chance of a few free's and bosmans in summer like petrov, kalou, pirlo e.t.c

27 May 2012 16:24:17
According to all the rumours, Johnson,Skrtel, Reina and Suarez all want to leave. I personally don't see them leaving.

Last season we spent around 100 millon on majority average players (Caroll,Downing,Henderson and Adam)

Downing and Carroll seem to be hitting something like their form (from watching them play England yesterday) but we cannot wait for them to develop. I'd give them a season if that.

Henderson is talented however he is not the talent we need and is in no way a replacement for Gerrard.

Adam should be sold back to blackpool as he is utter crap. SAF only said his set pieces are worth 10 million alone to raise his price; from last season they're worth nothing, he couldn't even reach the box in the majority of them.

Suarez and Enrique settled well and are doing what they can.

Apparently Maxi and Kuyt are to be sold this season, if this is true we are in need of a right winger, possibly Hoilett? Adam Johnson would be a good replacement for Downing to play on the right but I've heard his attitude is terrible and he belives he is the greatest alive.

We need a striker to take the shots and score simple as... Higuain would be perfect, aswell as possibly Soldado.

Hazard will never come to Liverpool. Gerrard is not going to be our saviour anymore we need to splash 60 million on a striker who can shoot and a holding midfielder.

We need to look to Buy 2 distinguished players who would be interested, we should also pay them top salaries to ensure they'd come. Once they have settled we will have 5 - 7 strong players as we did in the 05/06 season and then we can begin buying upcoming talent through CL football if we squalify after this summer.

As for a manager. Why not add and extra 0 to the deal? wouldn't it be worth it. Pep said "if you can seduce me, I'd consider coming out of this 1 year gap" a very clever comment basically asking to be bought. If we don't offer him the money then Chelsea will. We trusted KK, and his beliefs in English players. As much as I want our players to be the best, they obviously arn't otherwise England would be the number 1 international team. We need to look to buying foreign naturally skilled players, such as Chelsea swooped Mata.

Cheers,

Cameron YNWA

This all sounds great in abstract, but who would pay for it all? Are supporters in Liverpool willing to have ticket prices doubled and concessions increased by 50%?

27 May 2012 17:52:33
we need two of Strootman/Elm/Moutinho or players of that quality but comparatively cheap in midfield, tadic & hoilett in the wings, a decent backup wingback like santon/clyne who can play both left & right , Kelly, coates, wilson at centreback to get more games and atleast one absolute worldclass striker who would realistically come here not cavani/higuain but maybe doumbia or jovetic and try and get Gaston ramirez in a deal involving aqualani..that would give us a world class squad maybe with spending of 60-70 million but again selling adam,downing,spearing,kuyt,maxi,cole would freeup wage bill and give us an additional 15-20 million ..

Media garbage. Using the situation to make up stories and sell papers.

Players have no clue who manager will be - why hand in such a request now?

Jonno's been rumoured to be going for most of the season tbf. With his wages and Kelly knocking about, it wouldn't surprise me if the previous management wouldn't have been too upset to see him go, but they're gone, another manager might try harder to keep him.

Hendo I think will come good. He's better than Lucas was when he arrived, and Lucas was one of the best midfielders in the Prem for the 8 months before he got injured this season. He needs to work on his decision making, he just picks the wrong option too much. But he's young and has time.

I agree with you that Adam's not been good. It's not that he lacks ability, it that's he thinks he's a lot better than he actually is. As a result he tries Hollywood balls when they're not on and tries to get forward too early instead of backing up the play. Like Hendo, he makes poor decisions, but he's isn't 21 years old. He's at his peak and I think he'll keep making poor decisions. Gerrard btw, does the same thing when he's put in a deep role, but he's roughly 10 times the player Adam is, so he gets the pass right more often, and is fit and quick enough to get back and tackle if he's caught upfield. He's not ideal there, imo, I rather him as a second striker, but he can get away with it. Adam can't.
I watched a vid of all Lucas' touches & tackles against Man City earlier this season - he was playing centre mid on his own most of the time. Adam was all over the place.

On the striker front, I think it's literally impossible for the strikers we have to be as wasteful as they were this season. But we do need at least another one for depth anyway, Suarez (if he stays) and Carroll are only two players.

I don't think Guardiola could be tempted, at least not right away. When he's moaning that he's spent the equivalent of 11 days in front of the media in the last 4 years, he needs a break. He may not take the full year, but I think it's a non-starter for us.

I think it'll be someone like Martinez or Rodgers, and good luck to them. They'll need it, since collectively we Liverpool fans don't a patient lot these days.

- Something Red -

Nothing wrong with stevey G he keeps his head in the game. Y.N.W.A

Adams better than people think people jump on bandwagon too scared to say diff

Hahh we also need gold plated turnstiles, fillet steak for for the fans at the same price as pies, grass imported from the footfalls of the himalayas, and a solid plutonium pig as a mascot....... because obviously in the middle of the worse recession since the 40's money is n o object

3 of your 4 "majority average players" were capped by England yesterday. Your post would be more believable if you didn't contradict yourself. You claim that Suarez also wants out but is one of two players who have "settled well and are doing what they can." Make up your mind please.

27 May 2012 16:20:21
just a thought but when doni said he wanted to stay because he said he still had a role to play at the club, could that be becuase reina had already had intentions of leaving? just wondering

27 May 2012 16:15:59
Hey Eds, I heard a big rumour a few months ago that we had paid 1/3 of the fee for Jaguares striker Jackson Martinez. They wanted £6million for him and we have already paid off £2million, but I haven't heard any developments in that story, so was it utter b****cks?

Sean The Red {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any truth in it at all.}

27 May 2012 16:09:16
Maxi was the one to hand in a transfer request. Though Reina and Kuyt both remain uncertain of their futures and will wait to see who the new manager is and their plans for them, especially Kuyt who will only stay with assurances of more football than he got last season.

Alonso Lover. {Ed002's Note - It makes zero sense for Maxi to hand in a transfer request when the club will no doubt let him be sold for a small fee.}

I feel it is Skrtl. Didn't Reina just say he looked forward to staying for many years?

27 May 2012 16:06:55
Maxi has handed in a transfer request.

I think that Maxi is able to buy out his contract because of the weber ruling?? {Ed002's Note - He certainly will not be doing that.}

27 May 2012 15:17:35
Eds/Macca/General Posters, thoughts...
It may be silly to speculate about who will be leaving and joining the club this summer, because of our lack of manager and DoF, but I would like to put forward some candidates that I feel would significantly improve our squad!
- Andrea Pirlo, completed 2778 passes last season (the most in Europe's 'top 5 leagues'). Xavi completed 2688 and Alonso was 3rd. Best of all, he is free this summer and would become a great squad player.
- Iker Muniain, was brilliant for Bilbao this season, especially in the Europa League. He was left out of the Spain sqaud today, and may feel that to get into it for Brazil 2014, he may have to move to a bigger club.
- Roberto Soldado, very similar story to Muniain, left out of squad, impressive this season etc. And I believe that Valencia are still in debt (verification ed(s)?)

Cheers, The_Attaturk

Valencia are still in debt but the management no longer HAS to sell players. The debt is manageable and will not force the club into anything anymore. Hope that helps.

Nevada

La Liga made a new rule that every team that wants to compete in the league must repay the money that they borrowed to do whatever. Almost every team are in debt. Valenica, Bilbao, and even Atletico Madrid. So they need to sell big name players to pay the loan so those teams won't get the penalty. There are chances that Muniain, Falcao, Soldado, and other top class players that will leave from their clubs.

Don't be surprised if they do.

SLURed

They all make many passes in a slow arse leage, where when they come to the fast pace premiership they look s**te.

Example Aquilani, was great, came here was s**te, went home and was great again

27 May 2012 14:59:17
Hi eds im was reading down has 1 of are senior players handed in a transfer request? or have people read it from news papers?

JJ {Ed002's Note - I imagine it came from Twitter.}

It appears a second player has handed a transfer request

PYL

Does PYL stand for Pulling Your Leg?

Please stay Pepe,poor season but class keeper.Aint looked happy of late.But no doubting mans quality.Dont want Skrtel gone either-Much improved great season

I say let him go. He's been a shadow of his former self the last 18 months, the mistake he made in the cup final summed it up for me, his hearts not in it anymore, let him go, theres no point in keeping an unhappy player. If theres truth in it that he wants to move...Good Luck Pepe ..YNWA

Pepe has been poor for two seasons,get as much as we can for him he doesn't want to be here.

Baz f

I wouldn't blame him if he left he probably feels as disenchanted as the fans over the last couple of seasons

27 May 2012 13:18:14
Hope Reina aint going,poor season but class keeper.Distributes great from back

Yes but he must remember that his main job is to keep the ball out of the net

Puzzled

27 May 2012 13:14:09
hi edds great site, just wondering who is the most realistic signing for a new striker at the moment? {Ed002's Note - We don't know right now.}

Ok thanks anyway

27 May 2012 13:13:46
I love pepe, and i don't see him leaving this summer. But if he were to leave over the next 3 summers, Vorm is the man. He is reasonably young, very talented, and at swansea, we might be able to tempt him if we can show improvement and that we are heading back to the CL. How much do you think he'd cost eds?, and how interested would he be? and how likely is it that Reina could be headed out of Anfield? I hope he's not.
Great job on the sites guys

Vorm is only 1 year younger than Reina

Therefore about 10 years left in him.

27 May 2012 13:11:57
news of a senior player handing in a transfer request. i really doubt it but do you think it might be aqualiaini ?

27 May 2012 12:39:21
We are looking too far forward we need to get some proven quality to get us back to contenders for top 4 and then once we have those foundations then we can buy young talent, I fear we've gone about our plans in completely the wrong way, surely the way forward would be to buy proven players and once that is working you buy the top set of kids with the most pontential, rather than buying Kids that may or may not furfill their potential and pinning our hopes on them to get us back where we belong. We can't buy the best kids like hazard, eriksson, neyhmar, jones, chamberlain because we don't have champions league onces we get that these players might look at us twice, look forward to your replys and thoughts

27 May 2012 12:10:33
Hi eds/macca

Can anybody shed some light on where the rumour has come from about one of our players handing in a transfer request? It appears to have stirred things up on this site and would appreciate any feedback...thanks StevieC {Ed002's Note - If it relates to Skrtel then I suspect it goes back to Csonto telling AP (pre Dalglish leaving) that because of changes at the club his client wanted to know what the future held and said that there were enquiries being made of Skrtel from Italy. If it is Reina then I don't know.}

27 May 2012 11:47:15
has any one thought that if a player has handed in a transfer request it may well be saurez the owners may have demanded he put the request in to waive his remaining signing bonuses so he can get his move to italy or spain or france just a thought most wont like it but it may well be him

I forgot to sign my post EDs this was for the banter page oh well
giblet

Hey eds , what are the chances of this happening?....RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - Extremely remote.}

Suarez brings bad publicity to Liverpool and they will be glad to see him go. also the papers have been criticising him and he will want to leave

IF he has been told to put in a transfer request to guarantee a move away, then obviously FSG want him out. IF that is the case why would Suarez waive aside bonuses unnecessarily especially when he would be getting what he wants anyway?

Maybe to make themselves look better in the eyes of the fans he may want to leave they may want him gone but it certainly looks better for them if he puts the request in makes it look like their hands are tied no point keeping a unhappy player and all that

If this is true about Reina (I hope not!), would Diego Lopez be a good target as Villareal have been relagated? Only seen him play maybe 2 or 3 times, but he looked pretty decent.

Whats your opinion on him, good target?

Dan YNWA

Already snapped up by sevilla mate good gk thou

Already bought into Sevilla or something.

Drigan

Diego lopez has signed with sevilla

I think if Reina leaves, we may go for Vorm and/or ter Stegen

Im sorry, why would you want to sign a GOALKEEPER from a well known team that got RELEGATED this season? Snap an upcoming youngster upto the age of 24 whos managed to KEEP his team in thier respective league! For me a goalkeeper is the most important position! If you dont concede, you have a bigger chance of winning :)
RedSox69

It may not be true he might want to stay in Spain find a good club like athletic billboa

Is the sum total of our ambition to be "pretty decent"?

Well, last time we signed a keeper from villareal it turned out all right didn't it

Yeah he might want to join athletic billboa... since he's basque..... jesus some people are stupid on here

Cant be that good if he got relegated.

Geo

27 may 2012 11:44:14
liverpool are willing to sell alberto aqualani in a deal with either jovetic or gilardino or montolivo coming to us , we will let joe cole join another french team on loan , we are watching loic remy of marseille , and real madrid are preparing a 60m swoop for glen johnson , martin skrtel and luis suarez!

Montolivo is already confirmed as joining AC Milan.

Real Madrid don't need a RB or a striker like Suarez....they have Ramos and Arbeloa for RB.....they need more of a poacher coz they have Benzema,Ronaldo and Jose Callejon who can play the'Suarez role'

In that case they doont need a poacher as well as Higuain is 100 times a better finisher than Suarez u halfnut

Gotta love it when people make up absolute garbage to post on here... Montolivo doesn't even play for Fiorentina anymore, which IS the very reason they might want Aquilani.

Remy has just picked up an injury,so dont see that happening either, out of the euros

RED4lifeNOTjust4XMAS

I'm sorry but 60m for Glen Johnson surely the m doesn't stand for Million? because that is laughable!

27 May 2012 11:42:56
If Reina did go but i think he'll stay we should only consider a top GK like Lloris or vorm.
Skurks

Yes vorm would be good, and would not cost that much either if pepe goes(which i hope he does not!!)

I agree Vorm was up there with joe Hart for me this season.

27 May 2012 11:40:06
I think if Reina does leave Liverpool should look at Marc-André ter Stegen quality young goalkeeper and we should look at signing Jack Butland or Alex Smithies both good young English goalkeepers who ive watched and seem pretty good.

Smithies did not do himself justice during the play-off final yesterday, he looked over-awed at times and very shaky. He could help solve our penalty taking problem if he signs though.

Hes 19 of course hes gonna be shaky playing in a final which means alot to his team, hes inexperienced and he will learn from his mistakes he aint gonna be perfect at 19, no player is all players get to learn at an early age

27 May 2012 11:21:51
Eds, do you think the new Barcelona manager is going to get rid of some of their decent players, such as Affelay or Abidal? Liverpool can surely try to approach them if that's the case. {Ed001's Note - Abidal has already retired! Why would they get rid of their better players? It will be fringe ones, such as Keita, who leave.}

The 'New' Manager is actually Pep's assistant....so he would be pretty happy with the squad

According to Guillem Balague (btw I read this about a month ago) Barcelona are looking to sell David Villa and Dani Alves. They were the only 2 he said, but like I say it was about a month ago and things change all the time.

Abidal has just had a liver transplant, wouldnt think he'd be moving anywhere to far from his hospital.

27 May 2012 11:20:24
Rumour of Adam Johnson wanting to leave? Sorry if its already been answered but would be a good addition and we can offer first team football?
Cheers Ed
Jord

27 May 2012 11:11:46
LFC should sign Mike Magee, eds? {Ed001's Note - why??}

Yea really he plays in the MLS and really isnt that good for his age...

Still better winger thn Downing

27 May 2012 11:10:39
If Reina leaves would there be any chance of Frasier Forster coming in? {Ed001's Note - he is simply not good enough, why the hell would you want him? I would rather keep hold of Jones or Doni, in fact I would rather ask Bellers to put the gloves on than Forster.}

Wee bit harsh ed Im a Celtic fan and I watch the boy every week, yes maybe not Renia standards or Liverpools but dont slate him when you probibly havent seen him play much. He's much better than Jones and Doni to be frank.

Scottybhoy 1888 YNWA

He's won the league at Celtic this season so why not? (original poster)

Lol hes won the one horse race in scotland this year,gotta be the new schmiecal then i guess

27 May 2012 10:48:39
Anyone heard anything about USA boy Mo Hamze to Liverpool on trial?

I used to coach collegiate level over in texas and i remember hearing about this kid when he was coming up the junior ranks. could be the real deal. lets hope so!

I've heard good things, could blossom into a great player one day, I hope this is true. Also, he's definitely easy on the eyes

27 May 2012 10:14:03
Was watching clips of young ryad boudebouz and in my opinion he can be just as good as hazard who would cost 3 times more.Has there been an approach to boudebouz agent yet?

I agree - got bags of potential shame we aint evn got a man in charge to b even thinking about bringing him in. even if we did get a manager i doubt martinez is likely to recognise boudebouz - more likely victor moses. ARGHH!

You may watch him in games,clips are pointless they can make average players look world beaters.

27 May 2012 10:27:30
Eds one player I really like is mcgeady is there any interest from us or any other club in the premiership I think he would a great signing

Nick from birmingham {Ed002's Note - Seems to be happy where he is right now.}

Watched him several times playin for ireland and celtic good pace tricky player but no end product not what we need!

Phil thompsons nose

He is muck! As an Ireland fan I can say he plays well in maybe 1 in 10!

Mcgeady isn't good emough for liverpool. His end product is wofull as is his crossing. better of with downing.

Napoleon

Kenny was linked with mcgeadt a while ago . so many said , oh no not good enough! i alwats thought , in the right team and shape , he could be very good . so i for one , agree with you . steviep62

No chance

Think mcgeady could leave this year maybe villa or sunderland, G RED

McGeady is nowhere near good enough. The reason he is happy where he is (which is on the bench a hell of a lot these days) is because he's pulling in £50k a week and he and his agent both know there is no chance of him getting that ever again no matter where he goes next.

Irish Al

Im saying it for past couple of years sign mcgeady.natural right winger,hard to find these days.twice the player downing is.....

27 May 2012 10:24:43
If reina does move on, which I think is complete BS, I would like us to buy Fernando Muslera he has been outstanding everytime I watched him play for uruguay...how do you eds rate him and do you think he would be open to a move? {Ed002's Note - I can't see him moving after only a year.}

I'd prefer Nikolay Mihaylov myself personally. I doubt Reina is going anywhere though. See how the managet situation evolves first.

No need to bother now.. If Roberto Marines does take over, aggressive players like Reina and Suarez will thrive and wont be queuing up to leave.

27 May 2012 10:22:42
If we need a keeper replacement then I think that viviano of Palermo/Inter could be a good option.

Still fairly young, agile and good shot stopper. And would be (fairly) cheap both on transfer fee and wages.

Just my opinion.

Nevada

Ter stegen

Won't need replacement that is utter nonsense

How about samir handanovic

One thing is for certain we need a keeper to be back up and one that will push reina to play the best of his ability all the time instead of being a libaility. He's complacent.

Nevada

27 May 2012 10:01:39
Eds, all these rumours about a player handing in a transfer request, who would he give it to ? Hasn't everyone been sacked ? {Ed002's Note - I am sure anyone writing to the club could address the letter to Mr Ayre or Mr Werner.}

27 May 2012 09:41:18
Ed would you think it be possible we would show an interest in Vertonghen?

Still young accomplished player going for a reasonable price from Ajax. If Van Gaal arrives he would know the player from Ajax quite well.

I'd also love to see us move for Defour. Great player in my opinion, and I would also love us to sign Affelay from Barca.

I think all these players would be reasonably priced.

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - I think it may be rather too late to look at Vertonghen.}

Is he going to tottenham then Ed? {Ed002's Note - Probably Spurs, possibly Arsenal or AC Milan.}

27 May 2012 09:00:56
Eds, what do you think will happen regarding Joe Cole, he'd do a better job than Downing {Ed002's Note - I would expect him to move on. Much will depend on how much LIverpool look to get and whether or not he could be released if he dropped any further claim against the money the club owe him.}

I hope we don't bring Joe Cole back. Well past it as a top flight player.

Hardly a left winger either! not bad sub to offer a bit of magic. all depends on the right manager to get the best back out of cole

I met Joe last week on the Euro tunnel crossing to Calais, I emailed the ed's. It was the night before Kenny's departure. He said to my face his most likely destination would be Anfield. He mention West ham but then reiterated Liverpool was the one most likely to happen and it seemed his preference at the time to. He was scheduled for meetings with his agents this week after last Sunday'sfinal Ligue 1 game but personally im not sure they've gone ahead, at least not in a room with LFC anyway.

Fat:anMolby

27 May 2012 08:52:59
This may sound stupid but has anybody thort the player whos handed the transfer request in if they have. could be as obvious as maxi kuyt joe cole doni etc etc? CRAIG

27 May 2012 07:31:15
not sure about reina wanting to leave, but Eds and Co, if possible (probably not) how much would Ruddy cost to get do you think?
Personally i think he would be perfect for us
gareth

I was more thinking vorm

27 May 2012 02:28:39
hey eds....if Reina is on his way out,can we get wayne hennesey???he is a good keeper...would be cheaper as wolves are relegated......

Noooooo....that guy produces at least one howler per game....neit, nein, nix..

Naw he is a good goal keeper

Yes thats it people....we want to improve so your suggesting we take a relegated goalkeeper.
The guy has spent more of this last season picking the ball out of the net than saving goals....and you think this is a good idea?

He is a shocking keeper.

27 May 2012 01:34:26
If its Skrtel that wants to leave theres no need to go out and panic buy a new defender we have Agger and i'd say play Coates with him have Carragher as 1st sub then after that we have Wilson, Wisdom and Coady as back up. Whats the point of haveing a good youth system(or bying good youth like Wilson) if they can't even think about playing untill atleast 20, apart from a few games here and there. The money from Skrtel can go to other areas of the sqaud that need improvment.

Cydsco

Agreed - except I'd have Carra after Wilson and possible Wisdom in that list. Coady is more of a defensive midfielder.

Coady isn't a defender!

Martin Kelly would make a good 4th cb =)

SideShowBob

That's the second post of yours suggesting we let good players go and not replace them. May I remind you of Mascherano, Alonso, and Torres (to some extent). We never replaced them and look where we are now...Relying of the youth system isn't going to get us in the CL within the next 5 years. Yes, maybe in the future but the owners are all about getting CL football next year, and that just won't happen if we're experimenting and allowing them to gain first team experience. Sad but true.

Sussex Red

Absolute nonsense. We need a top class defender, and tried to buy Phil Jones/ Cahill ontop last yr.
Coates is a rookie, Carra is over the hill.
Selling our stars will mean a relegation battle

Its good in theory but then when the 18 or 19 year old makes a mistake, which is very likely, they will be slated by idiotic fans who have no clue and expect them to be perfect. as well as this if a cb ,akes a mistake it can often mean that a game is lost.
derryred

Totally agree actually give coates a chance been top drawer when played this season I think lets remember Qpr

27 May 2012 01:27:06
Dempsey, Dembele, Seb larsson, Mascherano would all be good buys i think this summer??

Always.Red YNWA

Why would Mash leave Barca to join to club in decline and who has never won the premiership and not in Champs League.

Yeah like Mascherano is gonna leave Barca

27 May 2012 01:14:27
If Reina has handed in transfer request, i say let him go and keep hold of Doni or Jones and have Gulacsi(highly regarded by coaching staff at club) as no.2, with him playing about 10/25% of games to be ready to be no.1 in a season or 2 and use the money from Reina(at least £15/20 mill) in other areas of squad that need improving.

Cydsco

I'd be wanting a lot more than £15-20m for Pepe to be honest - one of the best players we have! If Pepe shoul leave, I doubt it would be Doni, Jones or Gulacsi replacing him though - I reckon we would go out and get a new 'keeper. Hopefully someone from the club has their eye on ter Stegen.

Hope he doesn't leave. Yes he's had a poor season when you compare him to 3-4 years ago, but you know the saying...

Form is temporary, class is permanent. (thanks fifa)

Yeah lets sell the best keeper in the world, and buy a nobody. Who's making these posts? JWH?

I would be disappointed to see Reina leave but if he did we could do worse than Shay Given. Older but still one of the best keepers in the league and would hold the fort until Gulacsi has had more experience and is ready to fulfil his potential.
CR

What about Vorm?? what do you guys think

27 May 2012 00:10:34
i have posted on here with quotes from skrtel and reina saying they are happy at the club and want too stay i know its a rumour site but im telling you now neither of them are going i promise all you guys !

lw12

You seem pretty confident....do you know them personally? How good is your info?l
