Ed001 do Liverpool hold strong interest in the 21 year old lazio midfielder Onazi? (excuse the spelling) Nigerian lad. Seems a decent player of what I've heard. Is there any truth in this rumour? Cheers ed. Also unrelated. Why are you called 'eds' haha

{Ed001's Note - I am sure we were looking at him before he joined Lazio and have kept an eye on him due to a work permit being out of the question at that time. His name sticks in my head because of his surname, Onazi, and the team he played for was called something like My Person or Mine People or similar. I remember wondering if it was a wind up and it was a chunk taken from a Hitler speech with the name Onazi and dismissed it until reading he had signed for Lazio. I don't know if we continued to monitor him, I think it was Houllier or one of his scouts that brought him to the club's attention, if I remember correctly. Not that that has any relevance really. I will ask if we are still keeping tabs.}

I posted about Onazi in January, I asked one of the scouts I know (a former nigeria chief scout) about him who contacted his agent for me. We apparently did have interest, but as of January was no longer pursuing it. I will get in touch with him soon and see of anything has changed. He is a good player and would fit the bill for what we need imo, but as Ed001 rightly pointed out there are other constraints, not just money, they may prevent a move.

Apparantly we have scouted Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon for the left back slot. Are you aware of our interest in him at all and do you see him as a good possibility for the summer?

{Ed002's Note - Sporting Lisbon's Rojo could well be a player Liverpool have been looking at but people would need some convincing that he is better than what the club already has.}

Eds when you say people would need convincing do you mean us fans or people within the club? what's your thoughts on him as a player as I think he looks decent tbh?

{Ed002's Note - Nobody cares about the fan's view. The player is fundamentally a centre back which is where he plays for his club. Liverpool are still overloaded with CBs. He plays at left back for his country but Sporting won't be keen to sell.}

There is no doubt Rojo is better than Flanagan at left back and although Enrique might be better he has cost us too much problems at left back with his injuries, he is a major liability. I wouldn't be against selling Enrique to buy Rojo if we can also get Cole for free.
