Hi Ed's.

Any interest in Femi Azeez from Reading?

EOTK is rumouring we have have opened talks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool and he certainly would not be one for the first team.}

27 Aug 2021 22:34:51
EOTK cited Caughoffside as their source. Which basically means it's complete garbage as they seem to just pick a player and club out of a hat in the morning and then make up a rumour.

The fact the article says £75k a week for an unknown player in the championship says how much credibility the article has.

Hi Ed002

If Liverpool are unable to move certain players on permanent deals. Could you see us, letting them leave on loans ( Origi ) for example?

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Youngsters yes. Senior players probably not.}

27 Aug 2021 21:28:45
Could that possibly force us to lower our valuation of players they had hoped to move on, on permanent deals?

Thanks in advance.

Hope you have a nice weekend.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That has already been happening.}

Thanks for the replies.

Ed002. I think your insight into potential transfers is spot on. Do you think as this late stage LFC will buy a Gini Wijnaldum replacement or is the priority a versatile forward? Personally, not replacing Gini is a huge mistake. He was excellent in what he did in midfield.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Unless one or more of the "spares" of, probably: Karius, Origi, Minamino or Oxlade-Chamberlain moves on then it is difficult to see anything happening. For me the priority should be a midfield player and the best value money deal for the club would in my view be Saul or Aouar, but Saul's wage demands would need to drop. If money can be raised then a more expensive player may be possible. Or looked to the currently injured on a loan to buy deal perhaps.}

27 Aug 2021 13:22:16
Klopp has just said in his presser that there's "no space in the midfield". So that's it lads nothing happening.

Afternoon Ed002

Has there been any new interest in the Liverpool players you named above and are Liverpool still asking to high a fee, for these players?

Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing beyond what I have said about Origi and Minamino.}

27 Aug 2021 14:02:30
I think signing a currently injured player is always a mistake waiting to happen. Particularly if the player has a history of repeat injury.

Ed, is Camavinga too much of a project to be considered good value? Word is he's available for 35M EUR, but I'm just going by what is being reported out there. Not sure if that's the actual truth.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has no interest in him.}

27 Aug 2021 14:34:18
oh mane mane, a midfield sale would make room.

27 Aug 2021 14:50:55
Should Origi or Karius leaves whether sale or loan, Pipco for loan isn’t a bad idea, right?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2021 14:54:03
Pipco is a terrible idea. As is Sterling. As is Suarez.

27 Aug 2021 14:58:05
Kwkhong, I’m not sure bringing Coutinho back is a great idea really, he left under a cloud and our team is better now than it was with him in it - we’ve improved but he hasn’t really.

Silly thought maybe: I wonder if Harvey Elliott is being considered as the Gini replacement. He played well against Burnley.

I'd prefer a forward coming in.

27 Aug 2021 15:18:37
Naby's last chance is as a Gini replacement. His flair seems to have deserted him, so best make the most of his pressing and press resistance . Can he do enough or is this his last season as a red?

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2021 16:10:05
Spaceman - Nabys flair, same as Ginis flair, hasn’t deserted them.
They’re simply asked to do a different job.

They are there to be the closest wall pass to Robbo, Virg, Mane, Fabs or Bobby. It’s an incredibly disciplined role that he is doing excellently in.

As to his “flair” deserting him, that’s one of the daftest tales I’ve heard.

27 Aug 2021 16:34:18
Have you seen the player who showed up at RBL for one season other than at that time?

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2021 17:07:52
Klopp obviously sees things differently. As Y0Y said, Klopp asks them to perform specific things, and Keita seems to be in his plans so he must be doing something right.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2021 17:24:44
Spaceman - do you mean like the goal he scored against Chelsea?

Is there any chance you watched some YouTube videos and think he should do that every 90minutes?

What about Palace last year?
There are so many examples of excellent touch player from a clearly excellent player who has suffered injuries which take time to come back from and then even more time to get form back and then he is injured again.

If however you don’t see any quality, I will trust that the worlds best manager knows his stuff and a lad on the internet might not.

hi Ed002

I know this is the liverpool site and happy to repost this on a more appropriate one but can you give us an update on what looks like a lot. of high profile moves in the pipeline? Ronaldo, Mbappe, Haaland

Thank you!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - (a) Is moving this summer when someone offers Juventus about €30M and the player about €500k per week or so. (b) May move to Real Madrid this summer, if not next. (c) Will move next summer to Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Chelsea.}

27 Aug 2021 15:00:44
ed2 - Liverpool are rarely if ever named as one of these clubs in the running for the likes of the true global superstars like Mbappe, Haaland etc. I don't actually mind this to be fair, as I like how we approach things. However I am interested as to whether this would ever change? We're 5th in revenue in 2021 aren't we? I remember you used to say that the elite players wanted to go to clubs that compete for trophies every year. we seem like we're on the way there if not there currently. So I guess I interested to hear your view of what Liverpool would need to do differently to have a chance to be signing these superstar players.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool's revenue is of no relevance as they do not have cash to buy with - that can only come from profit from the revenue (Liverpool have none as they are lossmaking for the last year reported, income from transfers - Liverpool have raised a little this summer but also purchased Konate and have debt from last year, and a small amount the owners can put in.}

27 Aug 2021 17:00:33
How can we be so far behind financially, how do cities/ united/ chelsea's wages make sense?! are they just better managed then us?
How can we compete with these teams in the long run?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - we can’t and we’re gonna get relegated

27 Aug 2021 17:15:32
You said relegated!
But winning the league will be a challenge!

I think mbappe is a good player as is Ronaldo and haaland however they all started somewhere there are other players out there who are just as good or have the potential. It’s a team game and people forget that. What klopp has done on what I would say is a modest budget compared to some others is build a team. Salah mane jota these players weren’t too goalscorers. Now they are. The team is bigger than one player.

thanks for the responses ed. Couple final Qs -

I was reading about manU's share price increased 8% since the Ronaldo signing. Has FSG sold any shares in Liveprool?

what is the benefit for a club to do this? is it more to do with the overall value of the club that would be more beneficial for the owners as opposed to making any difference with profit / loss?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - FSG sold part of the business to RedBird. There are no shares in Liverpool.}

Ed002, any chance on that Ocampos update now the site is cooling down?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Lucas Ocampos (LW) If Pedro Neto departs, Wolves will look to an offer to test Seville's insistance on a €70M. Sevilla are aware that Wolves could make an approach but after the departure of Bryan Gil they would look to persuading Isco to join before letting Ocampos leave - and that seems unlikely even though they will have access to the Kounde funds from next summer. Whilst Neto is still coming back from injury it seems most unlikely he will leave this summer. I am not aware of any appoach to Sevilla by Liverpool.}

Hi Ed002

I know you have been asked a dozen time, but do you see Liverpool purchasing anyone with the transfer window nearly over.

Me personally I would love for us to sign Bissouma but I just don’t see Liverpool forking out the reported £50Million or so. Is there any chance we could perhaps agree similiar to Jota in instalments or has our interest with Bissouma now been dropped?

Thanks again.

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

If Ocampos does join, who is leaving? Wondering if Mbappe to RM might mean that PSG come in strong for Mo.
One thing is clear, if Ocampos is coming in, it is not for a bench role.

{Ed002's Note - I would not worry about it.}

Who would they replace him with?

Thanks Ed. One to file away as unlikely then considering that €70m asking price!

{Ed002's Note - That will be his release clause which is why Wolves would offer a lot less.}
