Sky Sports saying Liverpool and Sunderland have agreed a deal for Coates. Is that true?

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Yes - subject to a few things - medical, work permit etc..}

27 Jun 2015 02:37:00
How much ?

{Ed002's Note - A tiny bit over £4M.}

I know it's unbecoming to talk about money (!) but we paid nearly double that for him.

Shame he didn't work out, brute of a fellow & in 2011 I suppose he was a good buy after Copa America.

Good luck to him.

Now, like Jay-Z said, "on to the next one".

Such a shame better things didn't happen for him at Liverpool, will always remember his goal against QPR. Good luck to him at Sunderland

Well said Super.
I was there that evening to witness that overhead bicycle kick, what a goal. Best by a central defender I have ever seen.
All the best to the big lad.

All the best to him but money wise we are doing very well to get so much. I suppose we are lucky they may be comparing him to Verghini in training!

Can't see him getting a work permit it's hard to get one when u move to Sunderland from Liverpool !!!!!! Will the Sunderland government except him

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he doesn't need a work permit, he has dual nationality.}

Hi eds if we sign clyne over the coming days is there any other players we are looking to sign and how likely do you think we are to get them ?? Cheers

{Ed002's Note - The club are interested in a forward still and need to make a decision about Kovacic.}

26 Jun 2015 21:36:45
Sorry if this has already been covered, ed.

What decision needs to be made over Kovacic? I was under the impression that Inter would try and sell Hernanes before allowing Kovacic to leave?

Thanks

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - So for one final time:

Even though he has very recently extended his contract and is seemingly happy in Milan, Inter are willing to sell Kovacic for the right price and have spoken with Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona and Hertha Berlin about the player. Nikky Vuksan has however said he is aware that Inter and Barcelona have had discussions about some "issues" that would involve Kovacic. To explain, Barcelona were plotting a deal that would see Martin Montoya, Alex Song and/or Pedro Rodrigues move to Inter on loan until January and then will be part of a permanent deal for Kovacic. Whilst this option did not suit Inter originally, it is back under discussion. Hertha Berlin were not willing to pay the price. I am not going to go in to too much detail but Piero Ausilio, Inter's Sporting Director, told a Spanish journalist that Liverpool had made a "funny little joke" with a €10M offer. They have since returned with a further offer that is close to the asking price, and acceptable - but not at the terms Liverpool are offering, so there is no final agreement and Liverpool would need to pay significantly more for the terms to be acceptable to Inter due to lack of hard cash. A representative of the player has been courting Arsenal to make an offer but they have no interest at the asking price. In the interim, as they have been unable to agree a deal, Inter who need to raise funds and sell two midfield players, have made it known that they will look to keep Kovacic if they cannot get the price they want and will make Hernanes available instead - and he was been offered as part of an exchange deal for Kondogbia, but Monaco were not interested. The other midfield player who is available is Guarin.}

Thanks so much for the clear explanation Ed002.

ed002,i know we don't talk money or anything of the sort, but i read someone from seville said we would have to meet his release clause? but today unia emre has said he won't be sold?
cheers me old love.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - He has a release clause of €30M which can be activated by Iberian clubs and then it is in the hands of the player whether he wants to move or not. Sevilla do not have to sell the player if any other side were offering that amount as it is not applicable outside of the jurisdiction of the law the contract exists under. However, clubs will often say that they will not accept less than his release clause - and can of course put any price on a player being sold outside of Spain. Monchi has spoken with the player who I am told re-iterated his position of being happy at Sevilla and the plans the club has. I know his agent is far from flavour of the month right now.}

26 Jun 2015 18:56:05
If we made a bid that Sevilla were happy with, does it seem like he will stay or is he just trying to get more money?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not made a bid. The only bid that has been placed is by Roma.}

26 Jun 2015 19:37:02
Thankyou very much for your answer ed002 x

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2015 19:42:03
Iberian clubs? Assume you mean spanish? Or does the clause apply to Portuguese clubs as well?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Both.}

Eds002

At this moment in time and to your knowledge, have Liverpool, via official representatives and agents, approached Sevilla in regards to discussing a possible transfer of Carlos Bacca to Liverpool?

Thank you in advance, for any informative knowledge you maybe, legally, be able to pass on

Best regards

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The only offer is from Roma, as I have explained.}

27 Jun 2015 00:53:23
I understand that liverpool haven't bid, but of he says he is happy is there point, or is he believed to be keen to leave if the money is right?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - His agent has been trying to get a move for him.}

27 Jun 2015 07:40:16
Of course he has, agents are little pests that way. I'd rather sign somebody who is keen to come to the club.

looks like ward is going to Aberdeen for a season long loan

I've not seen much of the guy or Scottish football, is he expected to start there?

Cheers,

27 Jun 2015 10:20:40
I would think he will be number 1 keeper this year as Jamie 'Clangers' Langfield and Scott 'Dropsy' Brown and not good enough, Aberdeen finished 2nd behind Celtic last year and were by far the 2nd best team in Scotland. Yeah the SPFL is mikes behind Premier League but with Europa League qualifiers and hopefully good cup runs Ward will gain good experience. Aberdeen is a great city and love there football so if he does well he will be taken in by the fans and will be playing for an ambitious young Scottish manager in Derek McInnes. Hope the lad does well .

Any chance of getting Mattia Destro? And what would be asking price? Thanks

the guy who scored 3 goals last season? great coup.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2015 12:48:26
I'm pretty sure spurs wanted him recently and the talk was about €40m.

No idea what he's actually worth though. Italian football bores me so I don't know much about him other than he is a relatively young striker with a reputation off the field.

26 Jun 2015 13:31:44
I see you tend to just throw up random names and expect some kind of insight, you don't seem to know how the site actually works do you? This is the Liverpool page, maybe you should try google instead, that's what I just did and it appears Mattia Destro is going to Monaco. You're welcome.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2015 14:34:50
If Destro was available for a reasonable price he would be a viable option, he was regarded as a promising talent and would probably fit in with the owners former transfer policy, although i highly doubt anything will happen. Its probably Bacca or stick to what we have imo, considering the paper talk with higuain being linked , never going to happen for £66 million!

Let them ask their question.

The eds have posted it so it's passed their scrutiny even if there's nothing in it.

Hi Fellow Reds and Ed's

I have been looking through the pre-season fixtures for the Red Men.
There are 4 games scheduled(2 in Asia and 2 in Australia) according to the Liverpool Site.

Do you perhaps know if there are any more pre-season fixtures being negotiated and where that might be?

Many Thanks
