The Juicer,

Apologies in just replying, been running around since I got out of work like a loon.

After the Zenit game, my eldest txt me at 3. 10a. m telling me that he had been out drinking and was still out drinking in town with a Liverpool player ( won't post his name, because I wasn't very impressed that he was out drinking after a game, especially after the way we went out! ), and when I spoke to my lad the next day he told me two things ( said that's all he could get out of him ) one was there is a massive signing lined up in the summer but said he couldn't say who because he would be lynched and that the owners are right behind Rodgers and are giving him the next 2 seasons to reach the top 4/title challange etc, so not getting in the top 4 next season is not a threat to his job, obviously if we took a major nose dive down the league then I would imagine that stance would be looked at.

He didn't mention anything about Suarez either way ( for what it's worth I think he's gone but that's my own opinion ). Hope that's answered a little of the post you sent earlier.

Waro

Information from nobody, about nobody, interesting, haha.

Thanks for sharing Waro. The team new s you provide are usually correct and hope this piece of info is correct too.

27 Feb 2013 08:13:16
Talk about an anti climax. I been waiting all night to hear who our new signing was. Cheers as always for the reply Waro. Lol

None of the Liverpool players hit me as players who would be out drinking in Liverpool on a Thursday till 3 am to be honest

I am a DJ in Town and Believe me there are plenty of players who stay out till all hours after a game! See them all the time. As for what was said the from what I understand the board are happy with progress BUT want to see a marked improvement next season. Fair enough. As for the signing it's almost certain it will be Joe Hart. This has been floating around for a while now, Reina is off to Spain and Hart is not happy with the City Circus, even more so when he has been blamed for a few poor results. He is LFC fan and big mates with the England lads Especially Gerrard.

Our thinking should be building a team around Suarez not selling him. that's what succesful teams do. We need top players around Suarez, only then can we move into the top 4. We can't be in a never ending rebuilding exercise and hope to get back to the top.

Quite a few of the players are often out around town although unsure as to who are the ones drinking till 3 in the morning. I have heard from a good source a few times that Enrique goes out a fair bit so could be him. As for the big signing. it won't even be close to being settled yet so speculation seems pointless. Seems like were keen on Lovren though - he's a tidy defender, I'd be happy with him.

SMc

If i'm going to make something up and lie it would be a lot more exciting then that, it's not a great deal of info but a little insight into what's going on at the club from my son who was with the player and his mates, I believed him anyway but he showed me the photos of there night out.

This is why I don't bother posting the team anymore, people want to jump on what you say and imply your lying. I will stick to what I said a few months back and not bother posting anything I hear in future!

Waro

Astonishing that we have a massive player lined up for the summer. maybe AC coming back from loan. So if we capture a big name this summer then you are correct and if we miss out you are still correct.

Will they excite us like Borini did?

What utter garbage.

Liverpool will wrap up a deals to sign Stefano vrij and dejan loveren. the club are also hoping to swap Andy Carroll for Newcastle hatem Ben arfa, christian eriksen and Alexis Sanchez will also be targeted.

Where exactly are we getting the money for these from?

Look we need a fast winger maybe the likes of tom ince scott sinclair dyer etc

All but the Dejan Lovren bit and this would be a solid, believable statement.

Lovren would be a naughty purchase, as unlikely as it is

26 Feb 2013 20:51:13
Stefan vrij, Luke shaw christian eriksen dejan loveren are all on Brendan Rodgers hit list.

Eds, not been on for a while but the same posts keep coming up about Suarez! Clubs will be in for him yes! he's one of the best players in the world right now, but where has this 40m price tag come from? It's on so many posts. Has he got a buy out clause? {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

God, but this board is pathetically depressing at times. It's almost like a bunch of people aimlessly wander around looking for something to go all doom and gloom over.

Suarez, himself, is quoted as saying "you ask me what I will do if we don't qualify for champions league. I answer that I will not leave. I will stay. "

He's happy here, he's said he loved life in Liverpool, he's said he believes in what the manager is doing, he's said he is enjoying his football, he's said he thinks the young talent is here at the club to make it great, he's just signed a new contract for big money and he's said he wants to discuss an extension.

What more do you want?

Obviously, rumour and hearsay carries more weight.

I doubt if these posts are coming from genuine Liverpool supporters. These are people intend on keeping Liverpool a mid-table side. You cannot succeed by perpetually selling your top talent. Top teams build around their top players! Is Liverpool another Arsenal?

Those persons will not stop, they don't even read or listen to what Suarez says. All they wish for is doom and gloom for Liverpool

Of course because players always honour there contracts and never want to leave for more money and chances of winning trophy

40 million? Don't they want BOTH feet?

26 Feb 2013 18:22:05
I think bayern will come in for Suarez, but so will lots of other clubs. He's amazing, what do we expect.

I don't think it's a given that he will leave though.

If bayern bid the reported 40million, I reckon others would be willing to pay more.

I would miss watching him play, he's hilariously good!

He's our best player but can't blame him if he wanted to move to a top club in the summer.

Where would we be without Suarez?

I'm sure if he was to leave we'd bring on another player that'll score for us, like when Torres left.

27 Feb 2013 09:19:59
Someone else will score it's true but Suarez is Suarez there aren't many players like him. Call me bias but I prefer watching him play to messi and Ronaldo

26 Feb 2013 17:56:53
Suarez will leave this summer. We have to prepare our hearts now, so we don't do the F9T a second time. If I was Brendan, I'd get two new players ready for Suarez's departure, because it's now inevitable. I'd be really shocked and pleasantly surprised if Luis stays beyond this summer.

I agree. We should try and get eriksen/ben arfa/munian plus jovetic/ damioa which would probably cost 35m. I guess 50m for Suarez but wages will be higher

Goin nowhere pal, do u work for the s*n

If we do sell Suarez we should bang a cheeky bid in for Michu this summer ;)
He would be Brilliant!

Redthroughandthrough

Noski you would be pleasantly surprised if he stayed except for the fact he said he was. Are u Luis Suarez or Brendan Rodgers because if you are not then how on earth would you know this? Oh I know you must of been that little fly on the wall in Brendan's office when Suarez told him he was going.

As last year these posts are getting a bit boring. Suarez isn't going anywhere. The reason is we are too close to CL even if we don't achieve it this season the next is up for grabs easily. And surely Suarez sees that we are playing wonderful football and that we only need a few touches here and there to be a giant again.

This year there is no reason for him to leave except no CL football. But Luis is the type of guy who wants to fight for glory not have it ready on the plate like Juventus or Bayern. And I'm sure he believes we are very near and that he fought for it these 2 years. Why let the job unfinished? He is not this kind of guy. Also add that at last he has a wonderful partnership with Sturridge, something he didn't have before with another attacker. {Ed002's Note - He has forced moves from his last two clubs.}

Ed002 why do you continually attempt to make the Liverpool fans on this website think that Suarez will leave in the Summer. You did exactly the same thing last year and ended up with egg on your face. I would have thought you would have learnt your lesson. {Ed002's Note - He was expected to leave and courted Juventus at length last summer. So he didn't leave, there is no lesson to be learned from that. I have told you for some thime that there remains interest from Juvents and that Bayern have him on their list of targets. Now it has made the everyday press and you want to blame me?}

Take it from me suarez won't leave, because his daughter is a dyed in the wool RED

Suarez world class. Michu average at best

26 Feb 2013 17:01:22
Ed002 could stefan keissling be an option in the summer as a more experienced striker for cover? {Ed002's Note - Kiessling will be one of a number of German players who will be either moving to England in the summer or who are about to be hawked around EPL clubs. I understand that if WHU do not complete a deal for Andy Carroll, for whatever reason, he could be of interest to them.}

Ed002 could u say some of the other german players? any big names? {Ed002's Note - Lewandowski will come from Germany, although he himself is not German, Gomez, Keissling, Schurrle.}

Ed002 I though lewandowski was going to bayern? {Ed002's Note - I would very much doubt that.}

Where do you believe Gomez will end up? Always been a big fan fantastic all round scorer wish we had ended up with him over Carroll {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

It's coming so we might as well brace ourselves for the inevitable, instead of milling around like zombies like when Torres dropped the ''i want out'' explosion on us.

While the 26-year-old has insisted that he is happy at Liverpool, Bayern, who will be coached by ex-Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola next season, are thought to be eyeing a big-money move for the forward in the summer.

"If one day the club made an offer for me, we will sit down and see what is the best for everyone, " Suarez told German newspaper Bild, according to The Express.

I did have to laugh at the ''Suarez told Bild, according to The Express. '' bit, it should have had an ''alleged'' in there as well just for the fun of it. No matter if Suarez stays or goes Liverpool will find another player to score the goals.

You're just as bad as the rags.

To score the goals, I'd go for Daniel Sturridge. Oh wait we already have Daniel Sturridge.

Hey Eds,
What is the chance of Suarez leaving in the summer? and if he does leave who would be likely replacements and would there be any chance of Muriel, El Shaarawy or Aubemeyang coming if he did leave
Cheers, Zincho {Ed002's Note - Try the search about Suarez leaving - and who is interested. There was plenty of interest in Luis Muriel over the summer but none I am aware of from Liverpool. Whilst he has signed a new long term contract at Udinese, there is still interest being shown by Juventus, Napoli and Monaco. Whilst clubs such as PSG and Cologne have shown an interest in El Shaarawy over the past year, it is Real Madrid and possibly Arsenal who may well look to strike a deal with Milan sooner rather than later. They have no intention of selling. After a year at St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Fiorentina, Manchester City, Manchester United, Zenit St Pete, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Spurs, Chelsea and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I didn't see him leaving the Geoffroy-Guichard in January but I understand that if a significant bid is made that St Et will give it due consideration in the summer. Such a bid is being pondered by Fiorentina but the player would like to stay if St Et make the Champions League.}

Hi Ed,

Just an enquiry really. Its clear to see we lack steel in midfield even with the return of Lucas, but I don't want us to sign some brute like Wanyama, Sissoko or Diame who can't play football, but are such physical specimens, they get away with it.
I'd like to see us sign a player a little tougher than Lucas, who can take the ball, get his head up, and release the play forward. I personally really like Lars Bender of Bayern Leverkusen. Is he likely to be available, and has there been any interest from Liverpool?

YNWA! (Adam) {Ed002's Note - Bayern Leverkusen's Lars Bender has been a player watched by Arsenal, Manchester United, Spurs and Fiorentina for some time. A move in the summer seems very likely to me.}

27 Feb 2013 12:26:14
Cheers for the reply Ed002. Glad to see you ignoring the trolls as well btw. You can be opinionated, but that's what makes you a cracking Editor for a banter site!

I really hope Liverpool at least take a look at Bender.

YNWA! (Adam)

Have you actually seen any of these 'brutes' play because all 3 can actually play a bit, sorry pal but I think you need to pop along to specsavers.

26 Feb 2013 12:54:48
Whats all these rumours I am hearing - Suarez off to Bayern Munich for £30m plus Mario Gomez!

Carp that's wot it is.

Well this would be an excellent business. And with that 30 we can but Sanchez

26 Feb 2013 13:44:10
Bearing in mind we're looking for a left back, and Cristian Ansaldi's contract is up in 2014, have we shown any interest in him? He's a good player, and could be available at a reasonable price if he doesn't sign an extension before summer.

26 Feb 2013 12:42:17
hi eds, been told that we are after alexis sanchez, have your heard anything. {Ed001's Note - only that we have never dropped our interest in him since before he joined Barca.}

26 Feb 2013 17:36:35
On the R5 Live deadline day show they had an interview with Mike Rigg (or sth) ex-Man City scout. He retold the story of his and Barry Hunter's pursuit of Aguero and Sanchez. Rigg took Aguero, Hunter Sanchez. This involved all the traditional scouting activities plus more recent stuff like tailing them after training to get an idea of their lifestyles & personalities. The upshot of this is that City bid for and bought Aguero. Whether there was any approach for Alexis Sanchez wasn't mentioned and not being a City fan I don't recall from when it would have happened.

The relevance is that I believe that Barry Hunter is now on the scouting team at LFC. Whether this will having any bearing.

26 Feb 2013 10:52:39
Hi eds,
Is there any interest in left back?also if I'm not mistaken, rodgers once said that he want to buy a world class 'no10', a playmaker in the summer. do you think with the purchase of coutinho we will stop the search for a playmaker in the summer?other than inan, is there any playmaker that Liv have been looking at?try reading the post but can't find it. thanks for the reply. YNWA {Ed001's Note - yes there is interest in defensive reinforcements, centre back and left back. I don't know if Coutinho will be seen as the answer, we certainly will never stop searching though, no club ever does.}

26 Feb 2013 13:46:39
Any player for the left back?surely for cb de vries and florian gardos had been mentioned, but there is no player mentioned for lb. perhaps lucas digne?

26 Feb 2013 09:47:20
Hi eds,
I have seen we are being linked with Ben Arfa, so could you let us know how likely this is, how many years are left on his contract and how much would Newcastle want to rob us for?
Cheers, Wez {Ed001's Note - unlikely, it runs out in 2015 and they would want a lot mate, not sure how much though.}

Their current manager has previously expressed an interest in taking back Carroll, so maybe a swap deal could happen.

26 Feb 2013 09:47:57
Bayern Munich to offer £30m plus Mario Gomez for Suarez in the summer.

Not true but I'd take that

We should tell them to double it and throw in Muller & martinez aswell!

Would Gomez want to move to Liverpool? Part Ex-changes don't seem to happen in real life as much as on Fifa!

Surely Gomez would have a lot of options to pick from. He scored 39 goals in the 10-11 season, he scored 41 goals last season and this season he's only managed 7 goals in 15 games playing second fiddle to Mandzukic who has been a goal machine himself, since Gomez had his ankle surgery after the Euro's.

I think Gomez would interest a lot of teams because he's quality. Sadly I don't think Liverpool would be the most appealing option for him, right now. Rate the player highly though and would think he'd be a superb signing, can't see him playing out wide in our system either to be honest.

BCDI.

I agree it won't happen I would be sick if Suarez goes but if this happened and we got Gomez and then Alexis Sanchez then that would be going in the right direction to making me feel better but like I said Suarez going nowhere

This sounds plausible maybe gomez and 10-15 million.

No chance, unless they give us Shaqiri, Alaba, Muller and Badstubber in a direct exchange!. Otherwise they can sod off. Btw, Ed's is it fairly possible that Suarez can get his agent changed?. I mean I know it makes no sense, but in the long run, it rules out the possibility of him joining ANY club linked to Pep!. ;-)

No way would I take that. Rather as for 30 million + Kroos (my favourite German)
if we get Kroos, who the h**k needs Holtby.

I don't see rodgers been interested in gomez he has a terrible touch great scorer do suarez would cost close to the money real paid for ronaldo I wreaken, mark {Ed002's Note - Suarez will not cost anything like RM paid for Ronaldo.

If that is the case then Bayern Munich are even worse negotiators than ourselves. I see this as highly unlikely

Suarez 60m+ Gomez

26 Feb 2013 09:42:33
Be prepared for a big offer from Bayern Munich for Suarez in the summer - Guardiola's first signing.

We need to learn how to play hard ball, like Newcastle, Swansea, etc with us. If Henderson and Downing was payed 20 mill. , we should ask 50 and don't step back. Serbian Red

They can have him for either

£45M plus Alaba

or

£60M

If its £40 million then that's pennies for suarez and it will get laughed at. If its atleast £50+ million then we would negotiate. RedTurk

Sadly with no serious chance of playing CL football in the 2013/14 season, and him now 26, it means he'll be pushing 28 when we finally qualify at the end of next season and start playing CL in the Aug 2014.

Personally I don't really blame the guy for wanting to play at the very highest level in the CL, and a players career at the very top can be very short.

If we had only had Sturridge at the start of the season, we'd be pushing really hard for a CL spot now, and he'd probably stay a couple more seasons.

But we must never forget- no player is bigger than the club, and never will be.

26 Feb 2013 09:38:30
Again reading in morning paper that Brendan is interested in Ben Arfa. The Geordies would want around £20m for him we do not have that sort of cash - get real.

26 Feb 2013 11:13:06
Swap him for Caroll!

Agree straight swap for Carroll, its a win win situation Carroll wants to go back, Newcastle would take him back, we don't want him. Ben Arfa interest us and would probably jump at the chance to play for us.

This is just my opinion, Ben Arfa is a very talented player but he doesn't produce enough for me, he should be getting double figure assists and maybe a few more goals a season. Especially if he's rated near to £20 million like reports are claiming.

BCDI.

26 Feb 2013 14:33:44
Carroll and 15 mil then maybe. otherwise the booze soaked lankster can stay with you guys.

Remember. we can compete with anybody in world football for a player ;)

Ben Arfa would walk into our team. When fit he is up there with the best in the league. There is no way Newcastle would do a straight swap for Carroll. Add another 15mil on top and maybe they would listen.

26 Feb 2013 07:55:17
Memphis Depay, Adam Maher, Jordy Clasie and Stefan de Vrij are the players being monitored from the Eredivisie.

Bo.

De vrij, jordi and maher are being monitored by a number of epl teams!

26 Feb 2013 06:39:24
Good Morning Edworths!

It has been reported that BR was in Holland looking at a number of players such as de vrij.

A name that was also mentuioned is Jordy Clasie.
To be honest I never heard of the lad and was even shocked to find out he is a defensive midfielder considering his size/stature.

But I youtubed him and it shows some decent stuff.
Obviously you can't just go off youtube so have you guys got an opinion off him and have you seen him or has he been playing in the any comps such as Next Gen.

Also heard, Georginio Wijnaldum has been looked at as an attacking right winger

Cheers {Ed002's Note - I suspect the rumour mill is running wild.}

Maybe he was just buying clogs and tulip bulbs?

Jordy Clasie is a fairly talented playmaking defensive midfielder. I expect he will have a good career somewhere but he's not epl quality and won't be for at least a few years.

Was Clasie the player Rodgers was watching quite frequently at Swansea Eds? {Ed002's Note - De Vrij is the player tgere is interest in.}

26 Feb 2013 04:59:52
Hey Eds,

I was wondering if the West Ham - Di Canio rumors are true? I'm only asking because if they are, it would most likely have a large influence on their option to buy Carroll at the end of the season. {Ed002's Note - I don't know the provisions of the contract.}

Fair enough, but that kinda secondary tbh, I was more so wondering if the Di Canio - West Ham rumors true or not.

Thanks in advance! {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what rumours you are referring to - certainly WHU will not have spoken to him about being manager.}

26 Feb 2013 00:43:23
hi eds obviously rodgers is looking for a wide/foward player for next season most prob to replace downing any idea who we may be looking at?

cheers {Ed001's Note - I am not sure we are, right now anyway.}

Could it be ince? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

Come on eds we have to be. Downing isn't doing the job needed.

Dzsudsak (spelling) would be perfect for us!
