Even thou i love the site. .did any1 see any carroll coming in january??????? i know we all had suarez in mind, KK AN DC will plan somethin and nobody will know about it not even there own mothers there obviously got there eyes on players an don't mind creating diversions with over players always expect the unexpected I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL 1ST JULY {Ed007's Note - Exactly mate, that's why it's a rumours/banter sight, some of the Eds have got very VERY good connections with certain clubs, and most of the time we only pass on our opinions about rumours, wish lists etc, unless we are definite about something.}

I see rumours of a bid for Leighton Baines seem to be picking up on a lot of sites. Would surely be a better signing than Enrique but i can't imagine it happening.
Any thoughts?

I believe the new financial fair plays rules state you can go up to about 30m in debt in the first year but it must then come down, owners also can't just inject large amounts of money ala city (they can just they might be kick out of CL etc) unless it's for a new stadium etc.

So any profit from revenue (which won't be huge this season) player sales (were about 10m up) and possibility over spending by 30m (i doubt the owners want to go that far).

Personally I think this means possibly reina, Johnson, Aquilani, Cole, Ngog plus dead wood poulsen, Degen, el zhar, Insua etc gone maybe £60 - £70m if they all go.

With youngsters promoted and a few key signings

Given, centre back (Cahill, p.jones, dann, johnston ?), Enrique, downing, Adam and another striker

*** BIG TRANSFER NEWS ***

Evenin Eds and fellow kopites,

very interesting news developing around anfield is that comolli is travelling to the copa america to scout talent believed to be either argentine or brazilian.

Unfortunately its not Neymar or Pato. . but it is Banega of Valencia we will be watching and also Lavezzi who Is believed to be sought after to fill the Tevez terrier like role.

We don't want him as an outright striker or wideman but more of a 3 pronged attack. . Carroll Suarez Lavezzi

That will allow space for Gerrard and maybe the arrival of A Young to whip in the balls from wide wher Lavezzi and Suarez could play great linkup.

Now Commolli hopes to tie up deals before they have an amazin tournament n their fee rockets. similar to how whiskey nose pulled off hernandez coup and parry made us miss out on david villa under rafa

What your thoughts EDS?

Hi ed and fellow red supporters

i just wanted to comment on summer signings and to those people who seem to think that we are going to sign 5-6 players i doubt very much there will be that many comings in the summer market i believe more like 2-3 at most here is my list.

player in's
marveaux [rennes] £0
Downing [aston villa] £10-£12million
and maybe the 3rd signing menez [roma] £12-£15million or
jeffren [barcelona] £7-£10million or
james mccarthy [wigan] £6-£8million a good prospect i believe and has been looked at by our scouts plus the fact he has that british style fighting and is used to the pace of the premiership believe me he will be a player in a few years that i think kenny and damien would have discussed between themselves why do u think scum utd and chelsea have been sniffing around him i also think we could be taking a huge chance on m'vila or matuidi lets be honest has anybody actually watched these 2 for 90minutes for a few games well i have watched them quite closely and i think m'vila is a good prospect but he does fade in and out of games looks good in a holding player role but hold on a minute don't we have a few at the club already we have lucas good age and improving and spearing who i think will play more next season.i also have seen batuidi a few times and i do not understand who is bigging this lad up because he is not in the french team and i think scott parker is 10 times the player this lad will ever be he is short and fast that's his bonuses but passing is poor and does nothing but run around needlessly trying to close down there is no finesse in this lads play i think spearing is a better player.

players out
martin hansen
emilio insua
soritis kyriagkos
daniel ayala
milan jovanovic
maxi rodriguez
alberto aquilani
joe cole
dani pacheco

Hello Fellow Liverpool fans!

This is a first time post for me; so go easy on me!

I am fairly close to one of the academy doctors and he has told me that Ashley Young is ours. A fee has been agreed at £16 million. He as also told me that it is unlikely that Charlie Adam will join us in the summer due to the lack of quality performances throughout the latter half of the season.

The list of names he has given me that he thinks will sign in the summer are as follows:

Ashley Young £16million
Karim Benzema £20million
Steven Defour £14million
Gary Cahill £15Million
Aly Cissokho £14Million
Romelu Lukaku £22million
Eden Hazard £25Million
Sylvian Marveaux £0

This is genuine information, but he told me that this window will be crazy and that anything could change at any moment.

Has anybody else heard this? Ed's or Macca?

"Liverpool is going to buy Hugo Rodeledga(Sp) as a back up striker. benzema is to expenscive, he is a clever player and a ice cold finisher. We are also inn for Chissoko, Sahin, M'Villa, Payet"

You made far too many grammatical mistakes for this to be believable. Sort it out, some of that wording IS disgraceful. Note the correct use of the word "is".

- actually, although the grammer is poor in most of this rumour, the use of "is" in this context IS correct. Of course i am assuming Liverpool represents Liverpool Football Club which is a single entity. The rest of the sentence was obviously written by a 4 year old. {Ed007's Note - How many times?? Can you guys stop slagging off peoples spelling and grammar, it puts people off posting for fear of ridicule for not being grammatically correct or misspelling something}

"{Ed007's Note - Play for my team? Even you aren't thick enough to cross the Old Firm divide? In saying that, I hear Kilmarnock are looking for players and you have the right amount of teeth to fit in up that neck of the woods."

OI! Being from that particular neck of the woods, I take offence to that. . We don't want Don JuAdam coming here and stealing our women! Although I've got to say, living near Celtic Park now, I reckon he'd have the pick of any of the orange-skinned girls kicking about in their pyjamas around here!

Anyway, rumours/ opinion. I reckon the strongest of the rumours kicking about here would be Payet, Marveaux, Dzudzak (sp), M'Vila, Enrique, and I reckon a striker will sign, but i'm very doubtful of any names that have been mentioned in the last month or 2. Oh, and Alexis Sanchez. . oh I know it's not true, but that story about being the head of finance's nephew was convincing. .

UEFA advisor William Gaillard on UEFA Financial Fair Play rule and Liverpool:

"The leveraged buy-outs for many clubs end in disaster. Just take Liverpool where you have owners who came, contracted debt, bought out the previous owners and saddled the club with the debt.

'The club has been rescued, thank God, of the fantastic heritage of Liverpool Football Club, but it was a close call."

Then went on to praise our new owner.

"John Henry at Liverpool and Thomas di Benedetto at Roma said the main reason they were investing in European football was because of the financial fair play rules.

They make a much more predictable environment, more similar to what they are used to in American sport, a more regulated environment than the crazy situation that existed before."

Ed do you think there is any chance of a bid for Adel Taarabt from QPR in the summer.

Cheers {Ed007's Note - I can't see it, his attitude is supposedly rank rotten, I don't think he is what LFC need in the slightest, classy player though. Have heard his team mates get fined if they pass to him in their own half lol}

Evening Kopites

Just a quick one really. Steven Gerrards cousin as a player/ manager of a local sunday league football team. I won't say his name but he told the team he was speaking to Gerrard and he said it will be an exciting transfer market for the reds and if we capture our main targets, everyone will be very happy. He also said NESV will spend approx. £80m.

Cheers

Hi, I have sat to long on news for this season break. I am nephew of Head of Finance in Udinese and I can say for sure that the club Liverpool bid in winter break for striker Alexis Sanchez of Chile. The mony was of 30 million euros and a player to exchange. There was a big argument becose Sanchez want to speak with Liverpool and President Soldati says no. Ok but he say in summer he can move. All people at the club know this but the fans are not knowing. I study here but stay often with my uncle who also argue with Soldati because he understand the mony and wish to take it for Sanchez. Also, Sanchez speak with american men and say yes to moving. I am unhappy for my team but we will spend the mony very much the same as Torres. Thankyou

. . . .

Ed can you find out where this was sent from?

LAVERS {Ed001's Note - I could but I think it was fairly obvious it was complete and utter nonsense.}

Just wanna say i really don't think connor wickham is an option at the price that's being banded about. i;m all for investing in raw british talent but he just isn't worth around £10m at all. I personally believe that we should avoid the risk and go for dynamic sound investments, lukaku is exciting, Hulk is perfect for the prem, there are better although more expensive options out there but from what ive seen since xmas, we arnt that far away from getting back in amongst it, just look at the form since the king came back. allow our current youth to bleed through and invest in exciting dynamic talents. Kenny has the keen eye needed im sure to not be daft. i mean for gods sake, surez will be the player of the season, mark my words.

We can stop guessing who will be coming to Liverpool as the 'new' striker next season because I KNOW - The man in question is a certain Mr Defoe from Spurs - I have it on very good authority that the deal was done in January and he was all swt to move then, but for a last minute contract 'issue'.
The fee is £12m - will be announced at the end of the season.
Good bit of business for the price.

Just heard from a good source that liverpool are going to be doing everything to ensure we sign young ahead of united. for the people saying adam is a done deal well its not his form the second half of the season has dropped and alternative players are being scouted one is jovetic we were unsuccessful signing him last summer but we are going to step up the chase this time around.

For the people that think we have loads of money spend in the summer dream on
At best we get £40m including player sales (£20m)
We are not going to spend £40m, £30m on a player this summer
£50m+ would get top forward needed 14 games to score a goal
£40m+ would get top world class player
£30m would get mid-top world class player
£20m would get average world class player
£10m would get Premiership or other top european league player or up and coming league player
under £10m get average Premiership Player
IF we are going to get 5-7 players this summer with the money we getting I afraid we are not going to be completing with man utd chelsea man city and maybe arsenal, tottenham and QPR

Hi Ed heard a rumour of a young talented seventeen year old called Nathan Saroon and apparently he will be signing for us in the summer.Hes been a life time Red supporter and i believe he will be a great signing for us. Have your heard anything about this player Ed he plays for Hemel Hempstead under eighteen?

Outs:
Konchesky
Agger
Kyrgiakos
Jovanovic
Maxi
Ngog
Poulsen
Insua
El Zhar
Degan
Aquilani

£36 Million for selling/ releasing these realistically.

Ins:
CB Cahill (20 mil)
LB Baines (20 mil)
LW Young (20mil)
RW Payet (15mil)
ST Wickham (15mil)

£90 Million - £36 Million on player sales
= £55 Million Spent

Also think M Villa would be a great signing but that s probably pushing it!

The above mentioned signings would give us great versatility and are all young talented players.

Hey eds,
My mate supports sheffield united and says that henderson is joining lfc. He even said that he saw lfc scouts at the last sheff utd game
Is there any truth in this?
YounRed {Ed002's Note - Not that I know of. I am not really hip to the lower league teams though.}

26 Apr 2011 17:31:56
Ed's. I think chances of Benzema joining are better than people think. Yes he has done well this season, but Real will buy Aguero and have Higuain & Ronaldo upfront. So Benzema will probably not be first choice. I think he will be our marquee signing for 25-30m (if Real get Aguero - which is likely)

Am I dillusional? {Ed002's Note - Not entirely.}

There are rumours circulating around France that we are signing Payet ,
Ed do you think this is likely ? Also do you know what Commoli's
connection to QPR's Taarabt is ?
p.s to Kenny ; don't accept a knighthood , and don't buy Ashley Young.
I thank you. {Ed001's Note - he just signed him for Spurs.}

Thank you very much Ed.
While I'm here What's your opinion on Mathieu Valbeuna I think he could really add something to the team, and is almost like benayoun is his style. A very clever player. What do you think?

A relieved red ;) {Ed002's Note - He was described by Laurant Blanc as being Deco-like. He is a decent player. I don't see him leaving Marseilles to be honest. He seems to be very happy there.}

Square tomato {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea - probably Arsenal. I don't know if Spurs still have an interest. Juventus do but not at that price.}

That's quite encouraging I hope we go in for him top talent

Square tomato

{Ed002's Note - It is a lot of money for a kid who needs to develop just vto get the raw edge off. The fear is he could simply end up as someone who runs on to balls sent over the top.}

Hi guys, eds

I've posted 2 simulour rumours here over the last 6-8 weeks, so here goes another from what I think is a reliable source. I posted last time that Reina will be staying. Adam, Enrique and Young are 100% Wickham 60% I had also said that my contact had no info who LFC would sign out side of the prem. Now I can say that Payet is looking very likely at 90% this is his only concrete lead to date lfc are eyeing up other players but nothing deffo to go on. Eds what do you think ref Payet? I think the other 3 I mentioned are good players but that's as far as i'll go on that still think we need one top class signing.

YNWA {Ed002's Note - I think that Payet is an excellent player which is why I mentioned him originally.}

26 Apr 2011 16:37:49
Irishred {Ed002's Note - I don't think Manchester City would have any issues about selling to Liverpool.}

Do u think we will bid for him ed ?

irishred

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know. Much would depend on price. Do you think he would be worth following up on?}

26 Apr 2011 16:20:15
CaughtOffside has us linked with Coutinho of Inter and he's a fantastic prospect from what I've seen.

Several questions:
How do you rate him as a player and a prospect?
Is the interest real and if so, how interested are?
What sort of price would he leave Inter for?
And would he come?

A response would be great, cheers. {Ed002's Note - There has been talk of another loan since January - he had only arrived at the club in the summer when he turned 18. It strikes me as very unlikely they would sell. I don't know of any interest from Liverpool and you would have to ask yourself where would he play if he could be obtained on loan - instead of Miereles?.}

Just being reading the recent mentioning of Robben as a proposed target. Damian Comolli said the following on ESPNSoccernet: "I looked at his stats over the last three years - especially the number of matches played. We are going in the right direction of players who don't get injured. We are going to take more and more account of the health of a player in the future. It costs so much having players who don't play."

I think this rules out any move for Robben as we are all well aware that he is a real sick note.

Suprisingly robben wants to play in the europa league in a recnt interview he wants to play there so it might be a decent rumour

{Ed002's Note - You have misinterpreted the interview I am afraid. The point of Robben's statement was to say that Bayern players must do better to avoid ending up playing in the Europa League.}

I would love us to sign Baines, A.Johnson and Valencia. That would turn us into a title winning side easily. Although its never going to happen.

Ed any chance we'll sign Baines, he is a boy hood red and he does get homesick. A.Johnson and Valencia are both pipe dreams IMO.

{Ed002's Note - There is a chance of Baines - or rather no reason for it not to happen. I don't really understand the "homesick" comment.}

Anyone seen Pepe's interview yet? Heard it's very, very encouraging. But I'd take it with a pinch of salt, really.
We of all people should know that such words as "am happy here and looking forward to the future" are likely a prelude to a sudden and rather unceremonious departure, what with a certain Mr Torres pledging his commitment to LFC only to smash down doors and windows in a laboured effort to GET OUT, GET OUT OF THIS "Abyss that is LFC" just two weeks later

Until I see a statement on the Liverpool FC website announce that Jose Manuel Pepe Reina has extended his stay at Anfield by. ., I'm not gonna start popping any champagne.

Ed002, you didn't respond to my question. Again, if you were to hazard a guess, who do you think that £20m+ man you believe LFC will sign might be?
You may wish to refer to my last post.

PS: how do you folks manage to edit these sites day and night, dealing with hundreds if not thousands of posts.
I'd go insane, seriously.
Great job you're doing, though. {Ed002's Note - Apologies - it slipped my mind by the time I got to the bottom of the post. It would of course be pure speculation or guesswork to name a particular player and I don't want to get wrapped up in saying Jesus Navas or anyone might be arriving. Perhaps Ashley Young would not be too far short of £20M by the time Manchester United drop out of the bidding. As for editing the site, fortunately there are a few night owls and then folk like me who are often just working away and glancing at posts popping up during the day.}

Liverpool will be going all out this summer gaining some souper signings, the owners bread and butter philosophie is to get young upcoming players, many names have been mixed into the bowl but its dutch winger elia who will be signing spoon. the player is seasoning into a great player and him along side kuyt carroll and suarez makes a winning recipe.

Liverpool will make major moves this summer and the first signing we will make is going to be king kenny on a 3 year deal. ashley young is as good as ours, and m'villa looks extremely likely aswell. i have heard from a source at melwood this weekend that we will make one major marquee signing this summer and it will come as a surprise to a lot of fans/ media pundits alike - arjen robben! he is apparently disgruntled at the manager situation at munich and still has a house and friends in england. i think he would be a great short term solution to the problems we have had down the flanks in recent years what do you think ed? have you heard anything about this?

Am not one for wishlists, but the thought of this team has me giggling (if your some Sanchez/ Aguero/ Pastore maniac, don't bother reading):

-Pepe Reina

-Glen Johnson
-Martin Kelly
-Mamadou Sakho
-Emilio Izaguirre

-Dmitri Payet
-Yann M'Vila
-Steven Defour
-Balazs Dzsudzsak

-Luis Suarez
-Andy Carroll

Subs: Daniel Agger, Jack Robinson, Lucas Leiva, Raul Meireles, Steven Gerrard, Sylvain Marveaux, Romelu Lukaku, Dirk Kuyt,

There's power, pace, skill and creativity in that team, all over the park. And goodness me how strong is that bench!
Obviously people, some of the current players in that bench won't be abruptly replaced and taken out of the picture.

I was merely indicating the level of depth and the numerous options we would have.
We'd be strong that anyone bar Pepe, will be considered for rotation.
Just imagine having Suarez/ Payet/ Lukaku/ Meireles/ Agger/ Dzsudzsak among others coming off the bench, instead of Cole, Maxi, Ngog, Sotorios Kygriakos, Jovanovic?
Now that's depth, boys.

Some will be doubtful about Lukaku, just like I am.
But Ed002 did say yesterday that were we to pay Anderlecht'r 30m asking fee, it could happen.
I think we could pay that.
Comolli and Dalglish might be emboldened by the transfer of Rooney to United.

Yes, the latter was "proven" in the Prem, but who's to say Lukaku, with his monstrosity of a physique and super talent, won't be a hit?
My first choice for a forward is Hulk, but that kid would be worth that £25m.

For crying out loud, people! This kid can be just as good as Drogba, and we'd get him for just a million £ more what Chelsea paid for Drogba who, at the time, was 5/ 6 Lukaku's senior.
He's the best of the many proposals bandied about (Llorente-£30m; Gomez-£22m/ £25m; Wickham-£15m etc).
Age, talent, sell-on value, it all fits.

And as I said earlier, the fact that all of we targets are fairly cheap, there'd be an allowance for high spending on one player. Since that won't be Sanchez/ Aguero/ Pastore ( 60m? You bloody kiddin' me?)/ Neymar, it should well be Lukaku.

Ed002, I remember the other day when you said you believed that LFC would spend over £20m on one player summer.
We know that virtually all our (known) and most realistic/ likely targets (I've mentioned some of them in this post and others, so won't do so now) will cost below to well below that figure.

And we also know that Sanchez, Aguero, Pastore, Neymar, Ganso, Subotic, Benzema, Hulk, Coentrao and the like are not in the picture (anymore, some).
So who do you think might be the player we spend more than £20m on?
Could it be Romelu himself?
This move is a no-brainer for me.

Anyone who thinks Lukaku's fee isn't justified should never again chastise Houllier or whoever goon it was that f***ed up the Ronaldo deal.
We've lost out way too many times on good players cause of this "they're not Prem-proven" nonsense.

Even after the successes of DiMatteo, Torres, Henry, Drngba, Malouda and recently Suarez, Hernandez, Vermaelen and many others, there some idiots who keep spouting the "Prem unproven" bulls**t when looking at potential continental signings.

Ed, being as were after CB's what do you think of the young Phil Jones of Blackburn, watched him yesterday vs Man City, and I though he had a very good game, solid at the back, and good at getting up in attack, only 19 I think he would be a great talent at the club. .
Would also like to see Balazs Dzsudzsak at the club.
I am also hoping for a big name striker, I know it's a bit far off, but we spent 35m on Carroll in January, and 24m on Suarez, what's stopping us spending that kind of money on another big name striker i.e Benzema, Falcao, Cavani?

please let me know your view on this, thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Jones may well be an option, particularly if Blackburn a relegated. Ed, for me I just don't think Van Wolfswinkel is good enough, yeah he's 22, but i still think that we should be looking at a young player, with a better class then him, he's hardly lit the Everdise alive

A few thoughts from myself! not inside info!

The signings we have seen so far under NESV

Carrol and Saurez both young, both ready to make an impact at first team level, both on around 60 000 p/ w tops. The signings for u made good sense on a football and buisness sense the moves for the players where wanted as it was moving to a bigger club and an increase in wages.

Expect NESV to continue with this policy and therefore expect our targets to be younger players from smaller clubs who when they hear they have a chance of a move to Liverpool will want the move more then anything.

Players leaving! its well known in football anyone on a bosman gets higher wages and this is something which NESV will try to reduce with our current crop of benchwarmers

lets apply this to our squad and rumoured targets

outs:-

Joe Cole - maybe 90 000 p/ w bye Joe thanks for choosing us hit the treadmill abit in the summer and you might make more of an impact at your next club. my guess west ham, QPR or Spurs

Jovanavic - around 70 000 p/ w first one out will prob make a great link up player somewhere with Andre Voronin

Maxi - Shows promise but gotta be on 70 000 p/ w a move to somewhere in spain, or a shock move to Chelsea after their new manager Rafa signs Aguero??

No need to mention reasons but we should also see the back of Degen, Brad Jones, Insua, El Zahr for similar reasons

Soto - maybe a shock one to stay in the squad I know his flaws but I doubt he takes home the biggest wage and his height may just help in those games against the stokes of this world. plus their might not be the biggest amount of takers!

Potential Ins - again no inside knowledge just some common sense

Aguero - not gonna happen wages to high, do we need such a player? potential interst from champions league clubs at real and chelsea. And does anyone watch La liga that much? the guy isn't Messi and never will be. I know we all had this love affair in ou head with the player but I think the day Rafa left the day he chance of Aguero coming in ended as well! Personally Im glad we got Saurez instead!

Young - Will be our no.1 target unfortunatly if UTD throw their hat in he will end up there. Sadly i expect this is what will happen.

Lukaka / Wickham - We have as much chance as anyone else as we will be willing to offer the same in wages, the players would surley be interested in the move maybe? watch this space

Benzema - I think he will be leaving Real it hasnt really worked, from what we all read comolli is a big fan, maybe he would be up for the challenge? there will no doubt be interest from other clubs remember fergies been a fan

Adam - Im sure this will be the first signing of the summer

Defour - We look to have shown interest before maybe a second choice to Adam think the demand in wages with the likes of Benfica and Utd sniffing around might put us off this one

M'Villa - A Comolli lead purchase seems likely could be a good addition

Baines - I think a possibility he seems a more likely dalgleish choice than many of the other names we have seen banded around for the LB posisition! would the clubs do buisness?? they have before

Enrique - I think a second opiton a good one and we have shown that we can do buisness with newcastle can't imagine the impact on the wage bill would be excessive so keeps NESV happy! unsure about the reported 10 mill+ price tag though

Sanchez - Great player! but for us no chance! he will be at a top champions league club getting over 100k a week my guess is Real

Cahill - Again you cold see this as a kenny influenced singing it will cost us money but the guy has the potential to be a future Cara. I think the move to Liverpool will be as an attractive move for him as any other offer that will be recieved! I hope we show interest

Marveux - In January I thought he was as good as signed now Im not so sure if he has injury issues this could stop this dead in its tracks

Stuart Downing - player would want the move I think he would be maybe a third choice and in my opinon not a bad signing his wages would fit the bill for NESV he is still young can deliver a final ball and beat a man! he isn't the finished article but the move to Liverpool could make him, he is a natural left sided wide man how much did we rate Reira when he first came in? and I think he proved most of us wrong!

Richards / Johnson - no premier league club will be able to sign a man city player unless it massively benefits city so no chance

Parker - Older player but my player of the season if west ham go down who knows! again sadly i have a feeling he might be a utd player in september!

Any thoughts or comments Eds? Anyone??

I've heard that Liverpool are preparing a bid for Roma winger Jeremy Menez. I know the kid had alot of hype when he was younger and was linked with Arsenal and Man U. The price is thought to be around £8m my sources tell me. Would he be a good buy ed? I'm expecting him and Young on the wings next season! From the same bloke i've heard that Joe Cole could be on his way to West Ham for £5m only if they stay up {Ed001's Note - no idea mate, hard to tell on a player that is playing in Italy, it is such a slow (and poor) league that it could be a problem for him to adjust.}

Ed, do we have any chance at all in the summer to sign either eden hazard or turan or coentrao {Ed002's Note - There is always a chance - but I would not hold your breath for Hazard at all, Coentrao seems extremely unlikely but Arda Turan would be possible if Liverpool showed an interest (however it seems that he is heading to Spain).}

26 Apr 2011 10:45:26
So, ed, having sounded Defour out, would he be interested in move to Anfield?
How really serious are we with him?
With our interest in Adam seemingly waning and no interest in Banega and Martinez, one would think that perhaps the eye has firmly turned to Defour.

If our interest really is strong, I think he and M'Vila may end up signing. They're both young exceptionally gifted players with a real potential of being top, top "stars". They're already full internationals.
A big plus is that they'd be a lot cheaper compared with their alternatives (£25m combined, I think).

So I'm all for these two.
In terms of left back, the one player I want (Cissokho) Ed002 reckons very unlikely.
He's also not at convinced by "Norwegian Tv" Enrique.
So I'd like to know what other options he has in mind.

Something's just crossed my mind. Ed, is it possible that Marveaux, Payet, Young, Elia and Dzsudzsak could end up not joining at all?
If so, what do you think plan B would be?

Fowler Bless Ye All
Cudroe

{Ed002's Note - A little disjointed, but I will have a shot at answering what I can. As I have previously said Liverpool enquired about Defour to see if he would be open to a move to Liverpool. I am sure he would be but keep in mid that extensive talks have already taken place about a move to Benfica. I don’t know if Liverpool has followed this interest up yet, but I am still pretty sure that Manchester United has not entirely dropped their interest in the player. For left back, I would throw Oscar Wendt in to the mix for your consideration. As for a Plan B, there has been an interest shown in many wide players and we know of serious interest in Sylvain Marveaux, Elia, Young and apparently Affelay. Payet, Dzsudzsak, Jarvis, N’Zogbia, Wijnaldum and others have been mentioned. I think we will be down to Plan Z before Liverpool move to their last resort signings of Alexis Sanchez and Arda Turan.}

Ed002, too bad that we haven't shown interest in Turan, maybe we're doing it discreetly? Cause if I remember correctly one of the eds said that King Kenny recommended Turan to Hodgson. Cahill just isn't worth the money and isn't good enough never been a fan of his or ever will. adam is s**ep makes to many mistakes. we need sakho for CB he is younger than cahill with a better future. turan needed for LW got a good left foot and is right footed. a new striker seen a link with mario gomez ed do we have a chance as i know he has scored 33 goals in 41 games? {Ed002's Note - Gomez has been looked at in teh past - before the transfers made in January. There is a chance that there may still be interest.}

Hi Eds,

A comment on potential signings in the summer, I know alot of people have us linked with 2 Wigan players, James McCarthy and N'Zogbia. I live in Wigan and alot of my friends are Latics fans, they all rave about these 2 being head and shoulders above anybody else in the team, especially McCarthy who they reckon will be outstanding! Is there any known interest from us on him as I know in Jan none were for sale does this mean summer there is more of a chance??

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - I think there is a chance, particularly if Wigan drop out of the EPL. However, it is not clear if there is particular interest in the players at this time. I suspect that N'Zogbia would not be Liverpool's first choice.}

That is all just now

Hello eds . .had a a question concerning giorgino wijnaldum. Have we been monitoring his progress at all this season? I knew we were interested in him under Rafa. Im not here asking because he had a good game the other day but because I have been following him for the past two years and he has matured quite well. He was more of a trick pony a year ago and his crosses weren't the best but I like his style of play. He's very agressive, has great control onthe ball, and has a finishers touch. The kid has alot of potential in my opinion.I believe when he was switched to CAM from a wide player, he gained alot more composure and controlled his runs quite well. He can certainly become a great player in our squad as he is very diverse, maybe second to third choice winger or a central attacking player. Well, those are my personal views. Would like to see some feedback if possible. Thanks

CEASE {Ed002's Note - I know that both Liverpool and Arsenal have shown an interest in the player - in addition to Zenit St Petersburg, Schalke and no doubt others. However, none of this interest appears to be that recent so I don't know if Liverpool have continued to monitor the player. I think it is worth keeping an eye on the situation.}

Guys, breaking news from Portman Road is that Connor Wickham is on the verge of moving to Anfield in the summer. The fee agreed is upto 10mil with no. of goals scored and appearances etc. Also Paul Jewel wants to have Nathan Eccleston (currently on loan to Charlton) move to Ipswich as part of the deal to get a ready made replacement. Looks like we're going to beat Harry Redknapp for the prized signing!

KK wants 6 signings, DC has been working around the clock to get the players he wants. Out of the six players, there is only one that isn't close to signing and that's Karim Benzema. Gary Cahill, Jose Enrique, Charlie Adam, Ashley Young and Balazs Dzsudzsak are all but done. We want to get the signings wrapped up early. Player movement has been crazy this month. Also four for the future will sign- Wickham, McCarthy, Kishna and some one from Forest.

DC is working on on a sensational swap deal with Man City having Glen Johnson and Micah Richards moving to opposite directions. My source is confident this deal is very much on cards at the moment.
