The link with Walter Mazzarri surely cannot be true. We will become a laughing stock if this is correct.

Does anyone think it was Aitor Karanka that Macca was telling us?

25 Sep 2015 21:54:56
Lol no.

100% CA mate. Although doesn't sound very promising as the eds have said he would take a lot of persuading and wouldn't appeal to him at this time.

Dunno why Carlo would meet up with the club if he wasn't interested in joining us.

Macca is clutching at straws CA won't be coming.

You are wrong. Macca doesn't need to clutch at straws.

You're the one clutching at straws, banter. None of us know what CA will do so stop being a know it all

My opinion on the manager situation. It's someone I've always wanted, he inspires fans and players. He plays good fast attacking football, normally in a 4-3-3. He's good with the media, a respected coach and demands respect from all those around him. Doesn't bother with mind games and says it how it is. Almost fluent English too. A man seriously under rated, Ian Scott holloway :D please get him in!

You're severely over-estimating his English skills, nevermind his managerial skills! Haha

Mazzarri is the latest man to be linked to the Managerial post at Liverpool FC.

Yeah I have seen that, apparently he flew to Liverpool this morning.

His statistics as a manager are not exactly awe-inspiring. He looked fairly run-of-the-mill and pretty much no better than what we already have.

Eds fellow reds .if he becomes manager the next people to get out is FSG .they won't get my support with that

He did a pretty decent job at Napoli. But he had Cavani in red hot form.

25 Sep 2015 20:20:10
You would hope this isn't true.
I see nothing wrong with Liverpool sounding out candidates to gauge interest in the role should BR be dispensed with. If the candidate is interested & indicates he would take the job if offered then sack BR before taking it further.

Its quite another to fly someone in to discuss the role whilst he is still in the job. Most fans want Brendan gone but I think he deserves better treatment by the club than that & i would hope the club acts in the right manner for all parties.

Don't know enough about him to make a judgement, I didn't watch Inter or Napoli consistently enough to know how good or what sort of manager he is. If an Ed could fill us in?

25 Sep 2015 20:52:19
By the way agger and most of the senior list got SEEMINGLY treated during Brendan's tenure, I don't care how hard FSG screw Brendan. It would only be karma, a taste of his own medicine

I personally have no problem with the club looking at replacements. Rodgers was given a lifeline this summer and promised to make it right, and he clearly hasn't fulfilled his side of the bargain.

Hi Eds, not Liverpool related but I really value your opinions on anything football related. Do any of you know if any European teams are looking at Hector 'Tito' Villalba of San Lorenzo? He looks like a really good player, thanks guys, love this site.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - These questions really need to go on to the European pages, but as a special treat, Hector Villalba has been of interest to FC Dallas, Dnipro, Hertha and Roma. However, interest it is the sustained interest of Sampdoria that resulted in a bid being rejected this summer. My expectation is that he is looking for a move to Spain, in particular Valencia and that there is a decent chance that could happen in 2016.}

Ed002 has been throwing us a lot of Scooby snacks here lately. Did Harry take you out for some wine Ed? I've read you're a wine fan! It only seems logical to have Harry as the spokesperson of LFC rumors.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Wino, not wine.

I used to enjoy wine but I am limited to Champagne and a couple of Old Vine reds now. My taste buds changed when I quit smoking about 10 years or so ago.}

People need to get off their high horse. Lovren, no matter how many wish he was, isn't a great defender. His positional sense is terrible. The point is he shouldn't be in the team. Imagining that one day he may have a good game isn't going to get us anywhere

Believable13 Unbelievable6

Any defender playing under Rodgers is terrible, sakho turned from a rock to pebbles, lovren the same, toure a past invincible turned mortal, skrtle a past player of the year turned terrible, Coates etc etc you get the idea.
I'm not writing off any of them until a new coach (Carlo?) comes in and decides they are not good enough, under Brendan we don't see what they are really capable of, Carlo could come in and turn lovren and sakho into the new carra/hyppia you never know.
You can't have that many brilliant defenders turn bad and not blame the manager, he the only consistent, I only hope he's gone before he ruins young Gomez, clyne and Moreno.
