Lorient VP has confirmed a bid from LFC for Raphael Gurriero

True?

And with Chilwell?

Moreno must be off.

Is this guy better then Hector who a few have posted about as a target?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

25 May 2016 23:21:37
Guerrero is a left winger who can play at left back.

Think of him as an actually good Robbie Brady. Great young player.

Agree0 Disagree4

25 May 2016 23:40:24
He is an atacking full-back unlike Hector, and more along the lines of Moreno. Infact, he has played roughly half the games for Lorient over the past two seasons as a left-winger. While Ed002 told us a long time ago about LFC's interest in the player, I am not sure what he brings that Moreno doesn't, defensively and offensively.

Agree1 Disagree4

26 May 2016 00:24:14
I'd be really happy with him. Like MK said lw/ lb quick, skillful, intelligent player. I reckon he would suit our style of play very well and is ABSOLUTELY an upgrade on Moreno.

Agree3 Disagree1

26 May 2016 00:26:03
If it's true, and we can strike a deal, it would represent great business to me. It would ultimately prove to be a coup de grâce for Moreno, however.

Agree1 Disagree5

25 May 2016 23:17:39
Anything in it ed?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would hope so, as the club's VP has confirmed there is! He is not lying when he said about it. We want him.}

26 May 2016 06:16:21
Looks like son pretty big teams are in for him! Klopp will need to work his magic for us to get his signature, especially without European football to offer.

Agree1 Disagree2

26 May 2016 10:11:31
What do you make of Guerreiro Ed? From what I have seen he is very good on the ball, very very fast (off the mark too), can run at players and has a good end product. I have to say only seen him play lb a couple of times as every time I have seen Lorient play this season, he has played left midfield (Le Goff lb) . So what is he like as a lb? First thoughts would be a bellerin type full back, he looks very frail. Is he a pace gets him out of trouble style full back?

Thanks in advance Ed.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I did mention this on the banter page, I have not seen a lot of him at full back, but he just reminded me very much of a slightly better version of Moreno. Still poor defensively and relies on pace, but better delivery going forward.}

26 May 2016 11:02:12
Thanks ed and sorry didn't see it until after I posted mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no worries mate, I know it is hectic on here at the moment.}

25 May 2016 19:12:08
Hi Ed's we have been linked with Reece Oxford? Do we hold an interest in him?

Believable4 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - no, out of our reach.}

25 May 2016 19:53:34
Because of price and wages ed1?

Agree3 Disagree6

25 May 2016 19:56:30
Eds can I ask why he's out of are reach?

Agree5 Disagree5

25 May 2016 21:22:07
Hopefully because we've learned our lesson about sp*nking vast sums of cash on inexperienced centre backs - have you lot forgotten Tiago Llori already?

Agree3 Disagree4

25 May 2016 22:32:02
Why does it matter why he's out of our reach, if I may ask? He's inexperienced, unproven, a benchwarmer and young, all of which already exists in our academy. Hence, don't need him.

Agree3 Disagree2

25 May 2016 21:27:08
Ed1 any reason mate?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - he has offers on the table from Arsenal and City. If it is money he wants, then City, if it is playing time then Arsenal, who also have the advantage of allowing him to stay in the same area.}

25 May 2016 19:09:32
Is it true we are interested in signing dzeko? Or is it just media BS, Not really my cup of tea?

Believable2 Unbelievable10

25 May 2016 19:21:34
Fabricated story.

Agree6 Disagree4

25 May 2016 19:38:07
Media nonsense, rehash of an old story, there is no way we would be after a lump like that.

Agree5 Disagree4

25 May 2016 22:32:22
He's worse than Benteke.

Agree4 Disagree0

25 May 2016 21:13:14
My thinking exactly, rather keep benteke.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 May 2016 18:36:44
Ed1,

We got a gk nice and early. Do you think we'll push for a left back next? Also, do you know if the interest in Zielinski has faded and we prefer Dahoud or was that paper talk?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - yes a left back is already pretty much done, Chilwell. Zielinski's chances have faded thanks to the way it was handled. We really annoyed Udinese so there is little chance of a move happening. Dahoud was another option but is too expensive.}

25 May 2016 19:03:52
Do you know if there is anything in the reported move for Brahimi ed?

Thanks.

Agree1 Disagree6

25 May 2016 19:03:52
Do you know if there is anything in the reported move for Brahimi ed?

Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree4

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea. Sorry.}

25 May 2016 19:22:36
Since Zielinski and Dahoud aren't possible (shame, Dahoud looks a proper player), any idea whether we're targeting another midfielder, Ed?

Agree2 Disagree2

25 May 2016 20:24:17
Ed001 - you said above a LB is pretty much done. Are you able to say who? Hector?

Over the moon we managed to get Karius early.

Thanks as always for the hard work!

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - already said, Chilwell.}

25 May 2016 20:30:06
Ante Coric buddy.

Agree3 Disagree5

25 May 2016 20:41:10
Sorry ed, completely read that wrong. Thought you said Chilwell and Zielinkski chances have faded!

Thanks.

Agree1 Disagree4

25 May 2016 20:33:31
Ed any idea who the club will look at in midfield if Zielinski and Dahoud are ruled out?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - not yet I don't sorry.}

25 May 2016 22:16:18
Hi Ed 001, do you know any preffered player except for Those two midfielder?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2016 16:54:50
ED001, what can you say about Chilwell's defensive talents?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - not seen enough to be sure, but he seems decent enough.}

25 May 2016 18:10:36
Liverpool have contacted Porto over Brahimi but are yet to make a bid. Porto want £30 million for him.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

25 May 2016 18:23:48
If this is true then coutinho is off : (

Agree3 Disagree11

25 May 2016 19:01:35
it states in a couple of articles about brahimi that he has a bit of an attitude problem, surely he is not our choice, I would prefer to keep continho, when he's in form he's brilliant.

Agree2 Disagree6

25 May 2016 17:44:03
Lallana has started following Ben Chilwell on twitter.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

25 May 2016 18:09:01
what? you search for that too!

Agree5 Disagree3

25 May 2016 18:23:59

What's the story with Lucas Alario? Apparently we'd sorted out a deal but then everything when quiet on him. Any updates or are we no longer interested?

Believable1 Unbelievable9

25 May 2016 18:03:47
Liverpool have walked away from a £9.5million deal to sign River Plate forward Lucas Alario
because of the third party ownership issue.

Mid table signings.

Agree4 Disagree18

25 May 2016 17:20:17
Well what do u expect . Lfc are mid table

This is that wonderful time of the year where clubs will tel Liverpool . He cost 5 . 10 . 15 . Or 20 or 30 million. And lfc will offer 2 or 6 or 11 or 13 or 26 million
Spurs Chelsea and any other club will pay the money straight away . Get their man. And lfc will be buying the 3rs or 4th choice option . End up mid table again because their results are inconsistent and average with highs and lows theougout the season
It's just a fact

Liverpool should be selling lallana and definitely coutinho complete overrated players. Play one game score and then go missing for ten and then pop up with 1 good game then disappear

And then one of them ends up with lots of awards at the end! Wow.

Agree4 Disagree18

25 May 2016 17:33:54
Ja Kurtz i wonder, do you think we should only spend above our means, only buy "marquee" signing. Do you think Mahrez and Kante were giant names in football for only the top clubs in Europe when they signed for Leicester. I find that a ridiculous statement by you, but to be fair you are allowed your opinion and me mine.

Agree9 Disagree6

25 May 2016 17:36:09
Have we learned nothing from Leicester this year? Don't write players off as "mid table" signings without actually seeing them in action for Liverpool. I'm sure if we'd signed Mahrez or Kante when they were unknown i'm sure they'd have been criticised too.
£20 million doesn't necessarily get you quality as we have proven many times in recent years. And as Leicester have proved a good team is better than 11 stars.

Agree7 Disagree3

25 May 2016 17:41:40
Can't say that for grujic and Karius as they are young and full of potential, may turn out to be top signings.

Agree5 Disagree3

25 May 2016 17:57:10
I don't actually mean that we are looking at bad players or that won't be good. What I mean is we need a hell of a lot more instant quality than we are looking at right now to close the gap.

Agree2 Disagree8

25 May 2016 18:02:27
Maybe seem mid table signings on paper but so do Leicesters entire current squad - if they fit in to klopps system and play with the heart he seems to demand, welcome aboard. Rather have that than a big name for 40 mil who doesnt. Happy to spend the cash for someone of proven class to elevate the team but for now let's hope 15 mil for 3 players turns out to be shrewd business and the start of us not over paying for not even nailed on quality buys.

Agree4 Disagree3

25 May 2016 18:23:57
Red lobster, you are a clown and need to see a doctor as soon as possible. Sell Couthino I hope you are messing because if we continue to sell our better players we are going nowhere fast and it's idiots like you who will be complaining about the constant turnover of players year after you but yet expect us to compete without trying to get a team that is settled and actually buy into a certain style of play.

Agree3 Disagree5

25 May 2016 17:53:38
We are also after a winger- the eds mentioned an interest in rafa silva.

Agree1 Disagree2

25 May 2016 18:56:38
Kurtz writing the team off even before the season starts, now that's a surprise.

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed091's Note - kurtz is a troll. Ignore him.

25 May 2016 19:05:17
Philippe Coutinho is not as irreplaceable as most people think as he is more than capable of changing a game but he is too inconsistent at the same time and goes missing for large periods of a season. Jurgen Klopp doesn't build squads around a single player and will instill even more camaraderie amongst our players and they will progress under his guidance. If we are going to play 433 next season then we need a CB, LB, RW and LW as we are stacked in every other position.

Agree3 Disagree3

25 May 2016 19:11:46
Fans like him must fill the team full of confidence. Clown.

Agree1 Disagree3

25 May 2016 20:09:26
Red Lobster is a troll who predicts us to lose every game. Pay no attention.

Agree1 Disagree2

25 May 2016 20:12:55
Yeah ignore me :) bet what I say happens though.

Agree0 Disagree3

25 May 2016 20:21:57
Yeah let's see how LFC get on next season if we lose Coutinho. Some people here!

Agree1 Disagree3

25 May 2016 23:34:03
It's not about spending a lot of money, it's about going and getting your first choice option.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 May 2016 13:26:34
EDs what do you think of this Yacine Brahimi links? Any truth in this? Rumors are gathering pace and the money being quoted is just insane. Hope its not true.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Whilst the interest of Manchester City and Lazio has gone, PSG retain an interest in Yacine Brahimi but he has complex third party ownership issues and a very high price tag. Liverpool are looking to add a winger in the summer but Brahimi is far from first choice - if they do make an offer it would smack of a little desparation.}

25 May 2016 14:08:10
Sorry if I've missed it but who are seen as the first choice targets ed?

Thanks.

Agree5 Disagree3

25 May 2016 14:21:04
Yeah I can't see the club or Klopp paying that kind of silly money for 1 player. Probably just somebody trying to drum up an auction. Plus, at 26, he'd a bit old for us. ;)

Don't see any reason to doubt Ed002's word regarding Rafa Silva and Praet.

Agree6 Disagree3

25 May 2016 19:41:05
Rafa Silva or Praet would make more sense.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 May 2016 11:39:15
Any truth in the Balotelli to FC Crotone links?

Believable1 Unbelievable7

25 May 2016 12:47:13
Probably more likely to be FC Cretin. he'd fit right in!

Agree3 Disagree4

{Ed001's Note - their owner or chairman has come out publicly and said they want to sign him and make him captain. More of a publicity stunt than anything else to be honest.}

25 May 2016 14:10:46
Yeah Italian owners love a bit of that. Think it was Sampdoria's last summer who wouldn't shut up about signing him. Hilarious that an owner would ever pick a captain. Those crazy Dons. :)

Agree1 Disagree3

25 May 2016 14:04:48
Make him captain, ambassador, mascot whatever that don't add a single cent to balotelli salary.

Agree0 Disagree3

25 May 2016 14:29:25
Do you think we will let him got to another club for free just to talk him from wage bill?

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - if we have to, yes.}

25 May 2016 11:35:52
According to A Bola LIVERPOOL are on the verge of signing Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.

Believable1 Unbelievable11

25 May 2016 11:55:35
Believable til i saw price $45mil.

Agree5 Disagree6

25 May 2016 12:12:16
I read the article from A BOLA and they wrote that we will
pay a fee near to 60 million Euros which is his release clause, also in a company belongs 50% of his rights .

Agree0 Disagree9

25 May 2016 13:41:34
Very good player and one who will fit in well in Klopp`s style BUT I`ll believe it when I see it, especially for that price.

Good morning eds. Do we know of Markovic has any future at the club?

Believable4 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - he is likely to leave. He wants to move on.}

25 May 2016 09:49:08
Really enjoyed someone with the name 'Timelord' asking the Eds about the future!

Agree19 Disagree3

25 May 2016 10:33:35
Would we be able to recoup the fees we paid for him, approx 20M if i am wrong.

Agree1 Disagree6

25 May 2016 09:23:22
Simon Mignolet could be set for a shock exit from Liverpool.
according to express.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

25 May 2016 09:59:33
Would be a real surprise. Express putting 2 and 2 together and ending up with 7 as usual.

It makes more sense to pan out as Ed001 said in an earlier post - if Karius displaces Migs at the start of the season, and Migs is unhappy with No2 slot, he will then be sold or loaned in Jan with Ward coming back from loan as No 2.

Agree4 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - it is very likely Karius will miss the early part of the season as part of Germany's Olympic team.}

25 May 2016 10:56:33
Do new loan rules not state a player cannot be called back early anymore, unless of coarse it's a six month loan etc,

Agree0 Disagree2

25 May 2016 09:00:19
Ed1,
You keep mentioning how everyone is up for sale, could you enlighten us on who is attracting interest and might leave the club, then? I. e. If Sturridge is available I'd be surprised if there isn't serious interest, despite his injury record.
Also, could you put my mind at ease and tell me Emre Can and Divock AREN'T available as those two, I feel, are two potential parts of a great spine in te team for years to come.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - look everyone will attract some interest, but we aren't just throwing people out of the door on a free. They will only be for sale if the right amount is offered. Yes I do include Origi and Can, though I don't expect anyone to come near the asking price and both are players that Klopp would not want to lose. The most likely to leave right now, other than Canos, is Coutinho. Though I am not sure he is going to have the offers he is hoping for and so it might not be as straightforward as he thinks.}

25 May 2016 09:20:47
Thanks Ed1
I know you don't like talking money, but would we be wanting more, less or roughly the same as we got for Sterling for him?

Agree3 Disagree4

{Ed001's Note - more.}

25 May 2016 09:27:11
Do you think Spurs could take a interest in Coutinho Ed? Pocchettinho having him on loan in Spain and didn't he want him at Southampton?

Agree1 Disagree4

{Ed001's Note - I am quite sure Poch would like him, but not so sure they would want to spend that kind of money when they need a striker more than anything.}

25 May 2016 09:43:24
I'd assume the move he craves is to Madrid or Barcelona and as much as I like him I don't think he's consistent enough for them to consider paying that kind of money which in my eyes means he'll either stay or the 2 mentioned above will begin their usual media assault in an attempt to get him to force the issue and possibly bring the price down.
We've lost a top name every summer for a while now chaps, get used to it!
Although I had hoped Klopp might stem the tide in that respect?!

Agree4 Disagree6

25 May 2016 09:58:23
Ed1 I know that percentages haven't been given more a while on this site for a while but would you mind guessing the likelihood that Coutinho will leave? Is 50/ 50 about right?

Cheers.

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - it would be a pure guess to put percentages right now. As things stand I would guess at that, he wants to go for Champions League football, so the only real opposition is the asking price.}

25 May 2016 10:11:37
My concern is if we lose Coutinho, Firmino is not far behind.

Agree3 Disagree8

25 May 2016 10:52:42
Not great news ed. Just come on here for a look and youve explained situation with him. Hope he stays. Big void to fill if he moves on.

Agree0 Disagree2

25 May 2016 11:26:29
I think a bigger worry than the 2 Spanish Giants would be psg, they have all the money in the world and tend to get whoever they want.

Agree3 Disagree3

25 May 2016 11:50:36
Coutinho is a great player. But the thought of him leaving doesn't leave me awake at night.

Agree7 Disagree4

25 May 2016 12:52:29
I understand ever player has ther price and that we could lose some of our top players which is fine if we are willing to replace them. In your opinion are fsg willing to shell out the money to keep us up with the top 4 or are we just dreaming.

Agree0 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - FSG have been trying to buy the Premier League title since they arrived.}

25 May 2016 14:57:20
I think coutinho is a good player, and i like watching him play, but seriously he is not imo world class. He could be for sure but for me a world class player doesn't just have some good games in between some really average ones.
He had great talent but over plays far too much. Often opting the wrong choice to pass when he should shoot and far too often shooting when he should pass.

like i said i like him and glad he's with us but for the right price i do not think it would be the end of the world.

Agree2 Disagree1

25 May 2016 15:44:55
I'd have to disagree, it is a big issue if he goes, one of those very few players in our squad who can produce the kind of goal out of nowhere that changes a match. Only hope is if Klopp can show him plans for who to bring in, serious challenge for title, etc and Coutinho is young enough to get years.

Agree2 Disagree3

25 May 2016 17:48:05
While coutinho may not be that consistent, no matter how much money we get for him, there is no chance we are in the position to replace him. He is getting better and who could we sign that is as good, still young enough and would come to us with no Europe.

Agree0 Disagree2

24 May 2016 20:00:43
Hi ed001 if you're about. I was wondering if you have heard if Klopp plans to change the Gk coach?

Thanks.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of sorry.}

25 May 2016 06:57:23
Oh. I had high hopes for Karius.

Agree8 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - United's goalkeeping coach will be available in the summer, he seems to have done well with De Gea, so maybe he could be a possibility. I really hope Klopp has realised change is needed.}

25 May 2016 08:44:17
That would be a great signing ed. Jose to bring his own GK coach so we could poach theirs.

Come on reds make it happen 😎.

Agree6 Disagree2

25 May 2016 09:11:36
Morning Ed. I posted a little while ago about this.

Surely us as pundits, fans critics. Etc can see that 1 Migs wasn't up to the standard required to make us a title challenging team.
We also know that the coach as you have said is a nicer guy as he is isn't doing what's required of him.

I can't see that Klopp doesn't see it either. Just baffling as to why (as yet) there has been no change?

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - I do not understand it either.}

25 May 2016 10:06:02
Is it a bit sad that I'm more excited at the prospect of pinching United's goalkeeper coach than any of the players we might bring in?! We must make this happen! Start a petition, or organise a march! We need to let the owners know we mean business!
