just my pure instinct and internet research tells me that we will sign 2 players by the end of this window 1-will be david texeira rumours about the deal is off are not true and another winger names have been mentioned but i think it will be mauricio isla from udinese but they aybe reluctant to sell otherwise we will mka a so called deadline day shock signing of anoth winger but dont think he will be worth more than 15 million

sparky
thanks

David texeira can not sign for us as it will be his 3rd club in one season

I dont think we will get any quailty players in
we should bid 20 mill for shaqari now because there is no chance at summer i think this is liverpools last chance to sign quailty make or break could be mid table for a long time

I think your instinct is complete nonsense

Shaqiri

Sparky, this is called 'Liverpool Rumours' and not 'Liverpool Rubbish instincts and opinions'
the doctor

Im afraid we have more chance of sigining "shakira" hehe..

1- Are liverpool willing to depend on Suarez & Bellamy until end of season to score goal? I doubt that since Bellamy can only play week in week out. SO expect another striker signing. I hope David Texeira will be signed by lfc. He got solid body like Tevez/Aguero but taller. Got nice skills, positioning and eye of goal.8-11M is a good buy.

2-Right winger also a must since Kuyt, Hendo is not capable. Aiden McGeady, Krasic. Maybe buying Isla to play right wing until the end of this season.

2 players in JAN transfer can push liverpool to top 4.

dtg'lfc

Are Manu reliant on Rooney are spurs too reliant on Bale are man city on Yaya are Chelsea on Torr......Errr forget the last on!! {Ed016's Note - lol}

No thanks mcgeady has no end product

Stevie and Kk got the boys playing tonight , if Craig could play each week he would, then all we would need was a right wing! MoM for me tonight CB! YNWA ... Ozy rules!

Robbie

After watching the game against city, I couldn't be more proud of the boys, to see what that really meant to Kenny, There's really nothing that can stop us from achieving anything we want.

I don't see why we can't try Johnson on the wing. Some of his best performances for Portsmouth came when he was plaing further forward. Stick Kelly in behind and i think it would work. Couldn't be any worse than having Kuyt (out of form), Henderson (a central player) or Downing (A left sided player and slows play up to cut back on to his favoured side).

Billy

If Bellamy can only play 1 game a week how was he able to play against Bolton at the weekend and then City last night?

Not a dig, just a question

Sticking Kelly in behind would be rather painful. He's a big fella... I can ask him if he wants to try this with you, but I'm doubtful :-)

I've been watching Granero since rumours started. He doesn' t look like much of an improvement on Adam. Ozil is the man.

Why would Ozil consider joining Liverpool ? There are big clubs like Man Utd have shown an interest in him so why would he settle for Uefa cup at best every year ?

We have only been linked with him for about a week how many times have Madrid played in that time.

Excellent points. Explanation: Wasn't implying Ozil was coming to Liverpool Just stating that he is awesome, while I was watching today's El Classico. Granero has played in two games since rumours started, and real madrid have played 3 games since they started. So to answer your question: two games I have watched Granero. I wasn't implying I was a professional scout.

Did u see Ozil's shot in the El Classico last nite? That was a screamer, shame it didnt go in tho

Carb

To be fair thats probably 2 more games than others on here that have said we should sign him.

Nick49

He is playing against barcelona

I don't see what people's problem is with Adam, I think of him as our best signing alongside Enrique and Bellamy. He can pass, shoot and makes good runs.

Red Ram

Bit harsh on him comparing him with Ozil. He would make most players look average. Granero is a pointless buy. We need a winger and a stiker. Thats it. CM - there is plenty of cover. IMO I would give Henderson more time in the centre. He ain't a winger and get stick for not performing in that position but whenever I have seen him in the middle he looks like he really could be the real deal.

I believe Liverpool still in talks with FC Groningen about D.Texeira :)
I don't believe in this we are off for him. It's bulls**t.

I think something like that - money + player on loan + pre-season match will be the deal.

The other I understand is Kayt for Texeira.

Well, we will wait and see what will happen.

Wait for new updates!

@nbstw {Ed016's Note - I am doubtful of David Texiera joining in all honesty}

25 Jan 2012 22:07:09
hey eds was just wonderin if there was any updates on our interest in benjamin corgnet and in your opinion do you think hes the type of player we need cheers. CRAIG {Ed001's Note - I have no idea of any interest or anything about the player. Only team I know with interest in him is Newcastle.}

25 Jan 2012 20:45:59
Since the financial fair play,I dun think Liverpool will spend big on a player. They will wait till next season to accumulate and buy. I agree with Ed either one or two will come. Either a loan deal or cheap deal.

Cheers
Rudz {Ed002's Note - The FFP rules are not any sort of concern right now.}

I thought the threats of banning players etc were not able to be applied as it was an infringement on the players rights so they will have to come up with something really clever with clubs like city and chelsea and surely if they push too hard it will only force through a european super league. stuart

That's a strange comment Ed considering it's the exact opposite of John Henry's publically stated position. {Ed001's Note - they aren't even going to be applied for 3 years!}

Why not spend big money then on some top player, who cares if we run at a loss if were successful it will sort it self out..oh wait the FFP...derrr {Ed002's Note - There are simply not the funds to run wild with the spending.}

I thought the ew owners kept this in mind when they bought carrol , they said whatever carrol was going to cost they were going to ask for 15 mill plus for torres , thats were the 50 mil come from , if they wanted 15 ml for carrol we would have ased 30mil for torres , unless its just a ploy by the new owners , not to spend to much money at one time maybe

Where are these people getting there info from about the david texiera deal? Cause liverpool play there cards close to there chest in relation to transfers SO HOW DO YOU KNOW?

ACHILLES. {Ed002's Note - Twitter.}

Twitter is like Wiki a load of bulls**t..

BigD

Sar·casm‚ ‚[sahr-kaz-uhm]
noun
1.
harsh or bitter derision or irony.
2.
a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark: a review full of sarcasms.

If you look up sarcasm in the dictionary, it says "see ed002".

Liverpools policy's are to keep it all in house and you will find out when they tell you, its as simply as that and they deal with transfers as near to the deadline as possible to keep teams like city chavskea and teams from oversea's from running up the value of there targets, good business sense!

25 Jan 2012 20:00:50
Liverpool to bid 10 million for Aidean McGeady . Anything on this eds? {Ed002's Note - Not right now.}

Not right now nor will there ever be!

Now he is carp

muzmacol ynwa

Im from ireland and can tell u he is absolutely useless. Just pure sh**e!

Please god no!. i'm irish and he is the most frustrating player i have ever seen. looses the ball too often and too easily

Show Pony. Jermaine Pennant has more end product. Not worth 10p, much less £10m.

25 Jan 2012 19:28:33
Rossi caught eye of Dalgleish in recent win looking for a last gasp bid of around £21m

Isnt rossi injured?

Keep dreaming
JM

Was this a game on Football Manager that caught Kenny's eye? Couldn't be real life what with Rossi being injured an' all

Not just injured, but 12months out injured, and thats not recent either.

Why do people even bother to make up this lies? Really don't see the point

25 Jan 2012 19:35:01
Eds, I was wondering, seeing as we are playing Wolves on the last day of the transfer window, will this effect our ability to do transfer business on that day i.e. will it be an incentive to complete all business on the 30th given that kenny should be in Wolverhampton? {Ed002's Note - It will make no difference at all.}

Would not make a difference as comoli will be there to tie up any deals if need be

25 Jan 2012 19:32:57
wilfried zaha one ace player we need someone like him

That good, he couldn't influence a victory last night!

Erm no we don't. Runs around a lot, headless chicken, no end product (just like kuyt)

Obvious read the papers and not watched him play.... fast maybe, but thick as hell

Epicly overrated

I think the lad has massive potential, he is 19. He is far from finished article. If he signed for liverpool or even arsenal, or generally one of the top six he would train with top class players which in turn would make him top class.

Got all the right attributes, pace,skill and is a workaholic. Could be the next Bellamy.
Or right now play when Bellamy can't.

25 Jan 2012 19:29:36
Cavani to Liverpool? is it possible? {Ed002's Note - No.}

STOP filling the pages with the same questions! If the Eds aren't sick of it, I am! Use the search function, or like I did when I first came here: Read 15-20 pages back. Geez, the lazyness...

Well, if you don't want to read the "same" questions on here, quite simple, don't read them or ignore them??

25 Jan 2012 19:27:26

Why on earth would he be at the training camp at this time?

This rumour has more lives than a cat!Torres won't be back!

Chelsea are at a five day training camp in malaga. But rumour has no legs

Yeh, I've got some news. It's all a load of BS. Put the drink away and get to bed, it's school tomorrow.

YS

Chelsea were seen in majorca today...that is all i know!

ired

Oh here we go.....!!

Ed002 I though the "T" name was banned from this site. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are returning this afternoon - perhaps Liverpool will have a car to collect Torres from the airport to get him back to Melwood.}

25 Jan 2012 19:20:48
Hi eds now that the David Texeira looks like its off do expect liverpool to sign anyone? {Ed002's Note - Sure, I will stick to what I originally said, then if no one signs you can all trash me again.}

ED002, some people are going to trash you regardless, even if you could predict every one of the transfers............ Because its your fault personally that we're not going to sign players that are worth 30-40 million lol
Nick49 {Ed002's Note - You are right Nick.}

Alternatively we'll trash you because by nature of your job you are supposed to be itk but clearly you haveno idea what is going on!

Ed no one should trash you the work you put in is brilliant. Some people are just d**ks YNWA

25 Jan 2012 19:05:07
I think we are leaving the big signings till the summer and instead, possibly allow the likes of sterling and suso to take the step up.

Isla,hernandez and de jong wil be awesome!i can dream!

Sorry.}

It's high time the editors gained the ability to look into our dreams while we sleep.

Posted on twitter by Xherdan Shaqiri (official account) - 'Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Man United, Zenit or stay with @FC_Basel. Life is a choice!'

Thanks, James.

Https://twitter.com/#!/shaqirixherdan

nope {Ed002's Note - That's the fun of Twitter of course.}

I've just seen this on twitter. It does say it is the official page of Shaqiri. So if it is, why are we sitting on our back sides make a bid!! {Ed002's Note - It is simply BS.}

Everything on Twitter is 100% true! I read that on Twitter so it must be true that everything on Twitter is true.Sort that lot out mate.Basically that post is fertilizer!

If its his official account then it will be him saying that Ed's {Ed002's Note - How many official accounts does he have?}

Aww I'm guttered, want these things to be true. :-)

This is his actual Twitter profile

https://twitter.com/#!/XherdanSHAQIRl

RedSG

Sorry, I did not read the rest of posts by this person. Although it says it is the official account of Shaqiri, it seems very unlikely. I only got the link to this one from my mate.

Thanks, James.

Of to bayern he goes so!

@ comment above, why would he go to bayern when they have robben, ribery ect. he wouldnt get a game unless someone leaves. i would like him to sign good talent already proven he can ay against the big teams would be happy if he signed

He wants to play for the Mancs if they come in for him, so I don't think anyone should lose any sleep over him.

Forget it, the twitter profile says its the official account but it is not confirmed by twitter. So, you cannot believe anything that account says. I could be posting those things for all you know.
AmRes {Ed001's Note - it is a fake account and has been proven to be one. Why do people bother taking any notice of that kind of rubbish anyway?}

25 Jan 2012 18:42:56
Doubt we will sign anyone this transfer window,(maybe a possible loan deal). The business will be done in the summer!!

A couple of loan deals involving the right players wouldn't be a bad way to go. If it goes well then both player and club will want to make it permanent and if it doesn't then both both parties can walk away... MonaghanRed

In summer you will hear same story. no players want to join because we dont have CL.

25 Jan 2012 18:41:32
@stephenmartin is reporting that David texeria deal is off due to LFC won't meet fee and they can't agree personal terms with him but there is still a chance

25 Jan 2012 18:39:08
Can't agree fee for David Texeira. Latest fron @stephen1martin.

Teejay

Hmm let me ask one thing... Why Mr.Kenny is not getting hot spot player like Shaqiri, Hazard,Kagawa etc....

Who is stephen martin1? is he reliable?

thanks
wafa

Because the hot shot players wont come to us as we are not in champ league position

25 Jan 2012 18:35:36
Eds when does the transfer window actually close? {Ed002's Note - If you are in England, at 11 PM on January 31.}

25 Jan 2012 18:26:12
Hey Edds, I've the search function but cant seem to find the info. Did Kenny and damian really have an argument or was it wishful thinking from someone.
Cheers

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is set to seal his first major signing in the January transfer window after reportedly submitting a £15 million bid for Udinese's versatile Chilean Mauricio Isla.

Isla, 23, can play in a variety of positions up front and also in the back, offering the Reds a plethora of strengths all over the park.

Dalglish's rant criticizing his player's efforts following Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Bolton has stolen the headlines in recent days and the Daily Star is reporting that bringing Isla to Merseyside could be among the first of many steps he takes to mitigate the rising number of concerns.

A deal to bring FC Groningen's 20-year old Uruguayan striker David Texeira is also being worked on after Real Madrid's Esteban Granero was reported to have turned down a switch to Anfield from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Nevertheless, captain Steven Gerrard has rubbished suggestions that there is crisis at the club as he has strongly backed manager Kenny Dalglish to steer the club back on track, starting with tonight's massive Carling Cup semifinal second leg at home to Premier League leaders Manchester City.

"For me, the thing that needs to change is the people who are here need to try and not put in performances like the one against Bolton and get back to the way we've been 95 percent of the time under Kenny, which has been very good," Gerrard told reporters.

The Reds skipper added: "When you put in a performance like we did as a group, you expect criticism especially off your manager.

That is his job and we need to be big enough men to take it on the chin and show a reaction because performances like that, individually and collectively, aren't good enough for this club."

Following tonight's match, Dalglish and Gerrard will quickly shift their focus to the FA Cup as an epic showdown awaits against Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

Don't read the Daily Slur

I've now seen Isla described as a full back/centre back,an attacking midfielder,and now as a player who can play basically all over the pitch.All this for only £15 mill? I don't know if you've lifted this from the S*N or the S**R [ both crap papers ] but I bet it doesn't happen! {Ed002's Note - Isla is a wing back. Just to add to your list.}

25 Jan 2012 18:02:36
I hope that we get Texeria...We definetly need a new no.9 instead of in-form Andy Caroll...Any news eds? :) {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts.)

25 Jan 2012 17:43:30
Hi Eds , besides what you have told us many times ie we will sign 1 or 2 players , is there any concrete rumours on here , that will come true , like the david texieara , or is it just hot air , the next 6 days will define our season and if we dont get the right players in our season will be over , its not like we have had it hard this season to get that 4th spot ,,,,,,,,,,mickyb {Ed002's Note - If I knew of any interest, confirmed or otherwise, I would say. We have been saying where interest lies when we know. As for texeira, I have said that I know nothing of the matter.}

Thanx for the info Eds , im new to this site , but its got to be the best by far for rumours ,

There are no concrete rumours? Rumours by nature cannot be conrete ;-)
kidmillions

Lol! What is a "concrete" rumour? If it were concrete, then it wouldn't qualify as a rumour, would it?

BooDaBooze

25 Jan 2012 17:38:11
Ed im not getting my hopes up that anything exciting is going to happen due to the owners visiting LFC, I know people expect a stadium announcement or for the lesser of us fans a sacking, but and it is a big BUT if Kenny wanted to sign a world class/Marque player would the owners have to come down to authorize the signing/price etc?

MJ {Ed002's Note - There are also a couple of important games this week. There is also the new shirt manufacturer to introduce - as I understand someone from Warrior came through London yesterday. Then there are the "other" issues that need to be addressed (Suarez, image etc.). And we cannot forget any transfers. As to what to expect, I don't know. But I really would not read too much into their neing in town.}

Cheers Ed do you think Suarez's image has been damaged in a major way as it seems to have died down

MJ {Ed002's Note - Yes, this will follow him for the rest of his career.}

@Ed
No, it won't. This will also fade into the background like most other incidents in football. No need to make a mountain out of a molehill.

BooDaBooze {Ed002's Note - Sure.}

25 Jan 2012 17:31:37
Eds not a rumour just a question, is it just me or does anyone else think that this zaha kid is ridiculously overated? I just don't see what he offers, iv seen him play a few times now and nothing he has done has caught my eye at all, he looks like he battles to control his legs and I havnt seen any sort of end product from him. Just my opinion but I think people are hyping him up who havnt seen him play.

RedANT

He may be overrated, but he's a kid, and clearly has the potential to be a fantastic footballer.

He looked pretty good last night.

He is a kid with ability, Pace, And is not scared to get forward. Something we are lacking, And need. The only issue is, Does KK Want him. TJ.

Hes a pretty good athlete though, if u can nurture his abbility!

25 Jan 2012 17:38:47
Teixera deal is off. price to high. unproven player.

Podolski is on!

price 15mill. kuyt may go the other way.

25 Jan 2012 17:33:20
Clyne is excellent from what I've seen of him, but we don't need him right now.
However, if Glen Johnson moves on in the summer, it might be a different story....

25 Jan 2012 17:29:16
Source from liverpools youth team setup has mentioned michael owen joining in jan with an offer of player coach/consultant next season. Also.it would be a coup for warrior who.see him as a perfect ambassedor....... Not me personally. I think hes a mercenary but he can finish

Can't see this happening, sorry. Although despite everything, I still admire the player a lot.
-=Solar=-

Where does this "ambassador" idea come from.Some person said we should sign Dempsey as he's a Yonk and Warrior want a Yonk in the team.I thought we bought quality players not ambassadors who are the right nationality.As for Owen he spends most of his time now either on the treatment bench or at the races.We DON't need or want him!As for "coach/consultant well does he even have a coaching badge and what would we need to consult him about other than how to go for bigger wages to another club. {Ed002's Note - Warrior do not dictate transfer policy. And if Liverpool did degrade to the level where they were buying an American for marketing purposes, they would no doubt took to pretty-boy Brek Shea rather than a flat-topped Texan.}

MO is scum - I would never go to a game again if this traitor was allowed to return - he left us lets not forget how he did it......he wears the scum shirt and thats the end of it ....100% scum.

What's a Yonk and do I need one for future LFC games?

25 Jan 2012 17:25:43
Sign :
Moussa Sow - 10million - to be agreed in the coming days
Xhedran Shaqiri - 13million - transfer deadline day

Where did u get this from

Why wait till the end of the window , if we get in there with a bid and its accepted and the player agrees terms then theres nothing to worry about like someone else coming in for the said player

Moussa sow is joining fenebache the fee has been agreed and shaqiri won't move who doesn't wanna take the step up he'd rather go to Germany

25 Jan 2012 16:59:20
If, as people are claiming, that the David Teixeira deal is off due to price issues and as the Moussa Sow deal has yet to be finalised, do you think Liverpool may be tempted to go for Sow?

We all know that LFC have looked at him and we all know that he can score goals and at 10mill maybe he will be the cheapest we can get.

Would love to know your opinions...

Sow is not the best poacher available , his Goal rush last season was due to the service from Cabaye , Hazard , Gervinho - this season he is Struggling & Lille only wants 10m for him ..
Dont think we need Sow , we can have Much better Strikers

I think there won't be any news before tomorrow, or even sunday just to keep the focus on the games !
Redred

Just Love how you say 10 million like it's 50p??

25 Jan 2012 16:44:25
We badly need a finisher to have any chance to get into Top 4 ; De Jong & now Texeira both deals are off , Macca reported abt that Inter player , that is Off too . It is getting frustrating & we are entering into last 6 days of the window & now any deal LFC want to get done , will have NO time to bargain .. so paying up extra $$$ again
Ed , Are we gonna sign any1 in this window ? or have to get on with this squad with Andy "2 goals only" Carroll & Stewart "off-form" Downing ?

thanks ,
KevinRED {Ed002's Note - I will stick with what I have said all along. There will be one or two signings.}

Ed you say one or two signings, one is expected to be a striker so what other position do you think we are looking for? Is it a winger? {Ed002's Note - I am not even going to speculate. I understand this afternoon that interest still remains in Luuk De Jong but nothing is actively being done about it.}

Thanks

Shot ib the dark but hear me out...

We still don't know if any of these "deals" are off.

We dont know if these "deals" were ever gonna happen

Point is no-one ( no disrespect to ed's or macca ) knows what will happen so it aint all doom and gloom.

We may have something in the pipeline . we may not, we will have to wait.

Look at last window , plenty of ins and outs that suprised people of all clubs Torres/Carroll etc.

Keep the faith it WILL come good.

lets all get behind our team for tonight.

Good times ahead. YNWA

Mr Slonk The Red

It might be that we are trying to get Striker on Loan , Dont want to spend until all the Options are gone ..

Most of the deals this window (in general) will go through in the last 3 days, we probably have got a few different options, just hope we don't make any mistakes

25 Jan 2012 16:41:06
Why does everyone want to get rid of glen johnson? He is 1st choice england right full. Yes he is on £90k a week or somethin but thats what you pay top class internationals!
Jayo

Class?

Ste

BUT he is not top class especially when Kelly is a better defender than him...Johnson is more suited to being a winger not a RB

MJ {Ed016's Note - Hence why he plays wingback}

Couldn't agree more. just signed new contract and plenty of top level experience. some days he has off games but is generaly decent.

Top class? Johnson? Do you watch the games? Liverpool fans want to get rid of him because he's lazy and can't defend. He's half decent going forward, but not nearly decent enough to cover up for his obvious defensive deficiencies. He makes mistakes that regularly lead to goals, and his lack of positional sense causes nightmares for our centre backs.

What's so great about being first choice for England?

Errrr! Because he can't defend!

Glen Johnson's problem is that he is Glen Johnson. What I mean by this is that when your team is performing you want a Glen Johnson type to add to your firepower (a defender who can score from open play and defend adequately). However, when your team is struggling you want to get rid because he takes risks and gets burned every now and then. Kelly is good defensively, but mark my words, when Liverpool gets it together people will call for a more offensive right back to make the side even more dangerous. Oh, and Johnson is probably on high wages, which makes him even more expendable.

Canadian Fan

Because he goes backwards more than the Italian Army!

Martin Kelly is already better, Johnson is lazy and is unable to mark a player. He will not be Englands right back come the summer Euros as Richards, Walker, Kelly and even Smalling are better now

He doesn't deserve to wear the red shirt. A terrible defender and only ok at getting forward. Hardly scores and one out of ten deliveries are any good. Kelly a far better player. How we paid 17 mil for him and only 8 for jose enrique confuses me.

I thought he was on £139,000 a week?
I'd have Martin kelly playing over him every week. Glen doesn't have enough love for the club.

Oh very clever we only have 2 player in our hole sqaud that can go passed people ones banned and you want ship the other out.

Love the late winner he scored against Chelsea earlier this season. There's no substitute for ball control and skill no amount of hard wil compensate for these qualities.
Liverpool supporters used to be Knowledgable and appreciate skilful players.
But now 2 centre backs clearing the lines and 2 full backs hoofing it down the line would probably make most happy.
kidmillions

We have some crap fans. Johnson is much better than Kelly at the moment, hence why he is number 1 RB at both club and country and Kelly isn't.

He has a poor touch and makes bad decisions. If he could sort that out he'd be alright

Just because he is english,it doest mean glen johnson must play.to tell the truth,he plays for the national team because capello has a problem.kyle walker and micah richards are far beter than him nd kelly too.his a defensive liability.face the facts hs nt hard nd good enoughf

How is it that the best defence in the league until recently has managed to be so strong if we have such a poor right back? (only and england international) who even us idiots think can't defend oh yeah were clearly wrong in our thoughts Some people ay

Mate,it mins u English thn.do u even watch the liverpool nd national team games?,i doubt.watch the games again,against norwich,yesterays game,nearly a majority of the goals we concede cme frm right side of the liverpool defence.stop thnkng wth yo English brain nd look at the truth infront of u,he isnt gud enough.why do u thnk they want right fullbacks.lol,some other people are funny wth their johnsons

^^^above post^^^

No idea what they're on about
Johnson is great going forward.
He has improved his defensive game tremendously since he joined us. Lucas had been covering Johnson and Enrique when they forage forward this season, but obviously that's not the case now.
As another person stated; we've got one of the best defensive records in the league.

Johnson's one of those reasons.
I watch LFC every home game, and I love Johnson because he's a proper footballer

Joe

Johnson is crap. crap defender. crap attitude. get rid. end of.

Johnsons not that bad. why not play him as a right winger rather than waste his dribbling skills in defence? he's better than kelly still. kk is not as good a manager as rafa was.

If macca us to be believed and we're only buying a striker then we are well and truely up sh1t creek. Wake up and smell the coffee kenny we need about 4 or 5 player's.

No we don't, we are creating chances but not finishing them, hence the need for a striker

So we don't need a winger a striker is ur answer

Ya! I'm sure Mr Henry & Co await your check in the post to help buy these players. Grow up!!

Only 5 players? All world class ones as well I'd guess!So what, over £100 million in fees, no problem I'll phone my Swiss bank and tell them to lend the club the money!

So u think we don't need any player's either. what are the owner's there for if not to buy players yonks dont like to spend money full stop.they never should have been let buy lfc.er's.

Any 4 or 5 players do or shall we wait till better are available

Imagine having some of these in charge. They'd make Portsmouth FC look like Apple Inc!!! Clubs motto " Emptum magno vendunt low" {

It's a Business you moran! Yonks don't like to spent money?? Do you not watch any American sport the premiers ship is small time compared to basketball baseball American! I'm english but stop being a xenophobic idiot!!!!

Been playing Prem manager,You clown!!

Miguel Castro :
Yes LFC have walked away from the David Texeira deal - FCG wanted too much £££!
{Ed002's Note - End to end stuff then.}

His brother Fidel reckons a deal has been agreed though.

Hi Ed002, didn't understand your comment? {Ed002's Note - I was being flippant.}

The only transfer this window will be for the departure of Damian Comoli. He has fallen out with Kenny over transfer targets!

And you know this how? Name your sources please unless it was a drug induced vision.

I fully refute this claim. Mr D Comolli. PS: wanna buy a big gangly donkey?

Ed's how many rumours which are started on here or your other sites end up in the papers? I mean there have been a few I have noticed, or is it that they were legit rumours to start with and the poster was in the know?
Scouse_Pride {Ed002's Note - I am aware that a number of "rumours" or statements made on these pages have been reflected in the "press" - including some clarification on Tuesday in the Daily Telegraph regarding the status of interest in Willian. Someone also generated a "false" rumour (as an experiment) last year that made it through to the newspapers.}

Thanks Ed!
Scouse_Pride

Those monkeys in the press will print any old rubbish to sell a few papers! {Ed002's Note - Some of the more responsible monkeys don't though.}

A few weeks ago I posted anonymously on the united page that I had definite evidence that Rooney was on the way out of Manchester this month. I was quite convincing if I do say so myself and I'm not suggesting anyone took it seriously but the story did appear the following week in a few red tops. {Ed002's Note - There we go. The system works.}

Any chance lfc could get zaha? Absolutely brilliant against cardiff. His work rate is immense and if kuyt maybe leaving with his work rate we need some like him

He runs around alot, with poor end product. Not good enough yet / ready for LFC. If we signed him, would be in reserves.
But then again, he's young and English - so we will probably buy him for £20m+

Dont think he is any better than raheem sterling to be honest,rob b

He did well first half but wasn`t in the game the second half.! can`t comment on extra time as I missed it.
Matt b

You can say yeah he does have potential and does have a work ethic.. But there's no end product, he loses the ball very often - theres still a lot of improvement needed for him to be in liverpool- he'd cost around 10mill to go into the reserves, for my liking i don't see that deal going through, its not worth it when raheem sterling is working up the ladder

I was at the cardiff game. zaha dived all game and could only get in to the left corner before losing the the ball. 120 minutes. 0 shots on target. no thanks.

"Brilliant against Cardiff"! I watched the match and he was okay but no more than that.And even if he had been brilliant the central point is Cardiff are a championship team not Premier.He might be worth keeping an eye on but I wouldn't part with big bucks for him at this stage and make no mistake if Palace sold him they'd want a massive fee.

Ed - do you not think Johnson will go for a fair bit, i.e 15 + {Ed002's Note - It makes no sense to speculate.}

5-8 million for Cole..Never laughed so much.

Aqualani 5 mil u joking Liverpool want 15 mil we payed 20 mil other wise Carroll would be gone if we would sell players that price {Ed002's Note - Liverpool will get 6-7M euros for Aquilani from Milan but have had to contribute about 2M euro to his wages and insurance this year.}

Aurelio's contract is up and will go on a free.

Also why would we get rid of our top quality youngsters

These true eds?

1) Liverpool are eyeing Valencia winger Pablo Hernandez according to Madrid-based newspaper Marca.

2) Dutch international Luuk de Jong's hopes of moving to the Premier League are hanging in the balance after it emerged that no English clubs had made a move for the FC Twente striker who has been linked with Liverpool and Newcastle.

3) Liverpool target Esteban Granero has emerged as a shock target for Real Betis according to a report in Spain this morning.

4) Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero will not be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu for Liverpool in the winter transfer window, the player's representatives have revealed.

Please post! {Ed002's Note - (1) I don't think so; (2) Possibly, there was interest from Liverpool, Newcastle and Lille but I am not aware of any bids; (3) I don not see GRanero was ever a target of Liverpool; (4) As I have been saying.}

Hey Mate I had a look on Marca when Tribal football said we were interested in Pablo Hernandez and there is nothing on the website. I think they just made it up.

David Texeira is now off... Due to intense speculation in the last 48 hours FCG have realised they could gain more money on their prized asset and LFC are unwilling to play ball. Could be one for the summer, but now of course will be attracting much more attention.

A striker is still wanted, but nobody (apart from those who should) knows who as yet.

1-1 scoreline tonight too, and lotto numbers are 6 7 14 29 30 32

Got my ticket! Cheers mate, good of you.

lille chairman has confirmed the moussa sow deal to fenerbache has not been completed yet

But it will unforntetly
shanio1

The only reason hes released that statement is so another club comes in with a bigger offer, which might start a little tug of war. If we where truly interested in signing him, it would probably have been done when Newcastle signed Papiss Cisse

RedHawk

As much as i think sow would be a great signing the deal with fenerbache is to close to completion and with him in africa i dont think he would be able to change his mind

David Texeira.
David N'gog mark 2 or actually good?
Agree - Good.
Disagree - David N'gog mark 2.

Personally think he looks decent but Dutch football is poor generally.
The jury is out.

If you watch texiera is movement on off the ball is great and positionally he is good aswell.defo worth the money

This lad hasn't played yet , what a ridiculous question . Not everyone lives out their lives on Football Manager or whatever it is called .

Dutch football is poor generally? Are you sure ? Marco van Basten , Denis Dennis Bergkamp start their Carrier at Dutch League. and Suarez is there 5 years . do you think all of them is poor ?

R-R

I dont think carroll is better than ndog
he couldent be that bad (hopely na im sure he isnt) :)
shanio1

Not keen on slagging a loyal 3rd/4th choice striker we actually made money on selling: we'd be in a different place now if every player we had sold or are going to sell soon made us money.

Jesus - are people slating him before he has even signed?!
Give him a chance, we haven't even signed him yet, let alone played a game or two!

Posting after ages,
Usually content in just reading editors' commentary,
Having seen Dalglish not very happy after the recent run of results, and seeing Carroll showing certain improvement being delivered better service(a.k.a. Stevie G) I'd be convinced we are just missing a good right winger,
Hence the Isla, McGeady, Pablo Hernandez rumours,
Being a Liverpool fan nowadays means an astonishing number of links,

But Dear Ed, One report from Calciomercato is now claiming Liverpool are in with a bid 24million, for Edison Cavani. Correct me eds, sure it wouldn't be so cheap, and as much as I want it, surely it would totally stunt Carroll's growth.
Also any truth with David Texeira...... or is it the Protugese lad Texeira??
Thanks a lot Eds,
Always a pleasure with the site {Ed002's Note - It would as you say be terrible for Carroll if Cavani arrived - perhaps that is why Liverpool won't be buying him. Or perhaps it is because there is no interest in him, he has no interest in moving, or Liverpool do not have the money it would take to buy him. Until I hear it on Twitter it will be hard to believe. I have explained what I know about the David Texeira situation (near nothing) but expect the deal for Sporting's Jaoa Teixeira to go through.}

The Cavani rumour is a re-cycled one from a year ago. You will not find this reported on the Calciomercato website (in English or Italian) unless you go to the archives I guess. Ignore the crap currently on twitter and fb about this.
Zee Man

How many more times ? NO to McGeady

Well done Zee Man for giving a nice polite reply without belittling the original poster. I understand the eds are frustrated about the amount of recycled nonsense, but that was appears to be a genuine poster asking a genuine question. He even compliments the site and the eds and you still decide to be petty enough to be sarcastic and insult him! Without the posters there wouldn't be a site. {Ed002's Note - Are school's out and the Poster Police are back. Just suck it up and move on.}

hi Ed, any intrest in Marco Martin from Werder {Ed002's Note - No, not at the moment.}

Is Marco Martin a hybrid of Marco Marin and Marvin Martin? Cross breeding players is an interesting concept, however I don't believe it is common practice in the world of sport.

Liverpool to sign 3 players:

David Texeira
Mauricio Isla
Pablo Hernandez

All will cost around £30M

4th spot here we come!!

The Rectangle

No chance this is liverpool not real madrid

David Texeira - £10m
Mauricio Isla - £15m
Pablo Hernandez - £15m-£20m

yer sure £30m more like £45m

BigD

Just Texeira and Isla if we're lucky. Just because it's Liverpool that is asking will raise their premiums

Would be awesome

2 more wingers? Yep, that'll be handy! Very much doubt this at all.

Youve just picked 3 from this rumours site.
you shud be a journalist!
martynlfc

I don't think, signing all would be possible or even great, because I believe it'd certainly stop our youth from first team progress alot, but I hope, there is atleast one striker coming here in January. YNWA

BigD I very much doubt Pablo would cost more than £12m tops he's not even getting in the Valencia team this season.

Kieran.

David Texeira - £10m
Mauricio Isla - £15m
Pablo Hernandez - £15m-£20m
yer sure £30m more like £45m
BigD.

Asking price for David was £8.5m why you gonna give extra £1.5m ? Udine put Price Tag for Isla is £15m not we bid £15m. and Pablo is not more then £15m player.

apparently the club where Teixeira came from have got a 20% sell on fee in his contract and i read earlier that the fee will be £10m because of the clause.

BigD

I think 35 mil for isla, hernandez and texiera sounds about right, 15mil isla, 12mil hernandez and 8mil texeira, i think these three are all possible as we are linked with them currently, isla is mainly a fullback not a winger so hes to replace johnson who i believe is gone in the summer, so isla may come in june rather than january, hernandez is a good pacy winger with a good cross and texiera looks like the striker signing and the most likely!

As far as I know 20% of the selling money will get by the other club if there is a clues. not the buyer club pay that, am I right ? {Ed002's Note - Yes. The selling club are responsible for completing any outstanding contractual issues.}

Liverpool offering wing target route out of Russia

It appears as if Aiden McGeady may be set for a return to more familiar surroundings after sources suggested that the winger could be ready to leave Spartak Moscow.

The news comes after the Russian outfit agreed a fee to sign Everton attacker, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, who is being tipped as a replacement for an immediate departure.

The former Celtic attacker has made 45 appearances for the Moscow side scoring five times and making 20 assists.

The Republic of Ireland international may be open to a move back to the UK top be closer to family and an offer of £10m may give him his homecoming.

SOURCE: FootyBunker

-----------------

Eds any truth as he might be a decent option for that price.

BigD {Ed001's Note - not that I know of.}

Please please may this not happen Mc Geady is brutal , no end product and is as soft as sh**e , average at best,
Ronnie Whelans Hair..............

Mcgeady is a great footballer and his end product has really improved in da past couple of seasons. I think he'd be good signing for the sqaud, although doubt it will happen!

5 goals and 20 assists aint bad.....its 4 goals and 20 assists better than downing for 8 or 10 million less....

But that's 5 goals and 20 assists in the russian league. While Downing hasn't set Anfield on fire just yet, I'm sure even he'd manage those figures in Russia.

No no no no no no no oh god no

I think Mcgeady is a great player, and not just because i am Irish. Like allot of people proved with the start of Lucas at Liverpool, allot of our supporters while knowing what good football is doesn't have a clue about the elements it takes to make a great team or the ability to see the great things in a player as they are developing. pacey skillful wingers are part of every great team. Now before you all start to attack me i knew Lucas was class when allot of you hated him for loosing the ball, but Lucas has always skill full, and a great attacking midfield player, he is now an amazing defensive midfield player because he worked on his faults using his natural ability to read the game, now we have an all round midfielder coming into his prime, loving the club in fact referring to Liverpool as home.
The next time you see Aido Mcgeady run with the ball at pace pay attention to how close the ball is to his feet, watch his natural ability to skip by players and leave them in his wake, that is natural ability. The rest can be worked on and from watching McGeady develop i think he is exactly what Liverpool need, although i am sure the constant bombardment of criticism he will receive from our supporters should he miss a chance or two i am sure will put him off his game as it has done with many others. Makes you wonder about the meaning of the word supporter doesn't it?
Anyway as much as i want this one to happen my gut tells me its not going to, maybe in the summer.

Show pony. Don't want him.

There's no substitute for skill, everything else can be worked on, but you have to have the skill. Mcgeady could be great under Daglish and fit in quite well. Another point skilful players will always have a good resale value.

Adam Johnson to Liverpool? depending on whether City get Robben..any truth? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Would love to see johnson but cant see it

Has there EVER been any contact made about Adam Johnson by LFC?? The number of times he gets mentioned on this website is really really really tedious!! {Ed016's Note - In the past, if he does not get a regular start at City for much longer he will be leaving}

In the summer maybe, depending on whether City move for Gaitan, Di Maria or any of the other 20,000 players they are linked with. Won't happen this January no chance. If he does leave City he won't come cheap (perhaps £20m+) and there will be plenty of other takers for Johnson too. I think he would do well at Liverpool though.

Why would city try to buy robben when he plays about 10 games a year because of injury,get real.

BBC Sport "Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega, 26, has confirmed he wants to leave the Premier League strugglers and is considering his options.
Full story: Sky Sports"

I wonder if we will show any interest as we supposedly did in the summer following Rodallega's desire to leave Wigan. Good player that is a proven scorer imo, would be a welcome addition to our squad i reckon.

Heard QPR Are interested in him.

"Proven scorer"? He's scored 2 goals this season!

His going for free in the summer we will wait till then I think but apparently there are 6 clubs looking at him but he wouldn't name who for wigan!

Not good enough. Struggling to shine in a bad team

I hope not, would be another emile heskey in my opinion

Not good enough. Would not be a sensible buy. Much overrated by the media. He is decent at best and we need a much better player. YNWA

If you score 1 first class goal that means you're a "proven" scorer? he's got 2 in 20 games so lets lash out 10 or 15 mill for him fast.He's a second rater to be accurate"

Carrolls much better and he couldent buy a goal so my final answer is NO
shanio1

'I hope not, would be another emile heskey in my opinion' - In his first full season he scored over 20 goals for us.... {Ed016's Note - and since....}

Clint Dempsey to sign - sticking point is transfer fee LFC offered just under £10m, Fulham want £13.5m. LFC might settle on £12m. Watch SSN in next 24 hrs.

Too much mooney for a 29 years old player.

Would be a good move for the club and commercially, proven in the PL.

BigD

He's alright at Fulham but simply not good enough for us

Plausible (due to the owners being American) but unlikely.
Unlikely because I think he's pushing 30 yrs of age and that doesn't fit in with LFC's stated strategy of buying young, talented and British. Anyway, with our recent buys so far, only 2 of those aims have been met: young and British - still waiting for the talented bit!
Frustrated but still committed red

If you can get Dempsey for 12 snap their hands off

If this transfer was to happen. i would be delighted with it but the fact remains martin jol would not sell there most important player.

Would be a decent squad player, but would he be satisfied with that, ie not playing week in week out? Doubt it.

He's an alright player, in fact I quite like him. But have we learnt nothing from Carroll? He's in good form and probably won't reproduce that after a transfer for a while, plus at 29 he doesn't have much time.

Actually more of a Robbie Keane situation, too old, fee too high, not enough time.

Because of the age I wouldnt say its gonna happen, but if he where cheaper then Id say yes with the owners being back in Liverpool this week

RedHawk

Oh yeah anything you hear on SSN is true and accurate! I'll bet any money you like we DON'T sign him.FSG will not sanction £12 mill for a 30 year old whether he's a Yonk or a Mongolian!

Not 4 12mil but 4 closer to 7mil would be a GREAT signing
shanio1

If fee can be agreed, this is very plausible. I'm sure owners would love to have him in a red shirt. Warrior would love to have him in a Warrior shirt. The outstanding American outfielder in the EPL.

Bent to sign on last day , Aston Villa holding out so that they can get maximim fee for him (similiar scenario to close of window last year). Robbie Keane will then sign on a permanent deal in new season.

This deal for Bent was done weeks ago..Aston Villa do not want it to go through till the last day simple as that.

You know what m8, this is probably the rumour that most makes sense as Mclesih has said he would like to take Keane on a permanent deal if possible, which would free up the sale of Bent.

BigD

Robbie keene...............noooooooooo

Why pay 24mill for bent when u could buy podolski or soldado for that, are you of your head?

Sorry mate can't see it as keane just moved to MLS and i think Galaxy will keep him. but then again eh? what do i know

Liverpool could miss out on the chance to add Nikica Jelavic to their attacking options after the Rangers striker admitted he would have no reservations about leaving Scotland to play in the Championship.

Jelavic, who has scored 16 goals for the SPL champions this season, looks increasingly likely to leave Ibrox during the transfer window and had been linked with a number of teams including Kenny Dalglish's side as recently as this weekend, when Jelavic's father revealed the 26-year-old favoured a move to Anfield.

But Championship promotion-chasers West Ham are also in the hunt to secure the Croatia international's services, with Hammers boss Sam Allardyce confirming that the club had contacted Rangers to discuss a potential transfer and Jelavic insists the prospect of a move to the Irons is a tempting proposition.

"West Ham are a great club and not a Second Division outfit," Jelavic told The Daily Record. "They are a famous English Premier League club who happened to be relegated last season and will return to the top division next season.

"It would be nice to play there, but I am playing at a big club so it wouldn't bother me if I had to stay and anyway I don't even call my agent about a transfer these days. I know Rangers are in a tough financial situation and if they need to sell me I will go, but I would also be happy to stay."

Rangers manager Ally McCoist admitted that chairman Craig Whyte had talked with his West Ham counterpart David Gold, but remains determined to hang on to his top scorer despite interest from a host of clubs south of the border and a board keen to boost the club's coffers with a potential transfer fee of around £6 million.

"I spoke to Craig and I believe Craig had a conversation with David Sullivan," said McCoist. "But Craig was very keen to point out that absolutely no offers had been made at all. I think it was just a pretty informal chat they had."

Not good enough for LFC

Of course he'll join a club in the Championship if his wages are high enough.He'll play anywhere that gives him more cash than Rangers.Not criticising him just stating that he's not being hunted by the top clubs so he's not fussy who he signs for.

We didn't miss out on Jelavic - we never wanted him.

hi ed's, a good friend of mine is on trial at Liverpool now, Jakob Glesnes.. do you know how he's doing? he went to England on sunday.

Daniel91 {Ed002's Note - I can't help but maybe someone else can.}

A good friend! Text him or email him ask him how he thinks he's doing

Yeah if he is a friend why dont you call him or do you not have a mobile?

Why are so many of you having a go at this? why would a young lad make something like this up? get a grip, theres load of crap posted on here but unless im missing something obvious this seems a genuine question about a lad we may be interested in.

What's he on trial for!

Maybe he asks if anyone knows what they think of him? If anyone ITK knows if his friend is doing well? Jeez, dont be quick to jump to conclusions people, we are all friends here...... :)

From Sky;

Liverpool have handed teenage Norwegian starlet Jakob Glesnes a one-week trial with the club.

The 17-year-old defender will travel to England on Sunday where he hopes to be enriched by his experience.

"I regard it as an opportunity to get a good week's training," Glesnes told Adresseavisen.
Learn

"I want to learn some things, show what I can do and return with some good experience."

Glesnes has previously had trials with Arsenal, Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest.

Kenny Dalglish is keen to continue the club's recent policy of signing the best young talent from England and Europe.

Hi eds, just saw on wikipedia that David Texeira has signed for us. They say that Comolli confirmed that he has signed a 5 year contract. Do you think this is true?

Cheers.

I also saw on Wikipedia that the earth is flat and the sun rotates around it.

Anyone can edit Wiki! So be patience and wait for official statement.

Liverpoolhead

Nothing on a deal with David Texeira from Netherlands... David texeira is currently wednesday morning doing working-out training at Euroborg/Groningen!

ps: 7,5 m bp will not be sufficient for FC Groningen, due to a 20% kick back to Defensor (Uruguay-agreement july 2011)

Does it ? i just checked Wiki and it doesn't say that. Try making up some better stories

Wiki says on his profile under doncaster rovers -

On the 25th of January Doncaster Rovers are rumoured to of had a bid of £13 million accepted for the Finisher, The striker will travel to England in a deal that could see Doncaster striker Billy Sharp and Full back Pascal Chimbonda move in the opposite direction to Groningen

what a joke

Yes it does say that on Wiki! But to be honest, it could quite easily say that I had signed for them to! Wiki is just rubbish. Kind Regards.

L Messi! :-)

It did say it on wiki i saw it but anyone can edit it and its not their now

Wikipedia now says doncaster rovers have had a 13 million pound bid accepted for him, and he will travel to england to sort the deal out.

Wiki showed that Suarez had signed ages before he did.....dont discount Wiki

To the poster above.. yes it actually did say that but its not true

So you're saying that the sun revolves around the earth on wiki? I just knew that Copper Knickers fella was full of sh*t.

Hey , Great site guys.....

Was just checking my twitter and i saw a few rumors stating that Milner's agent has just arrived at melwood... Just want to clear this up incase anybody actually believes it ... Milner's agent is also the agent to a good few liverpool players so it dose make sense for him to be at Melwood ( If he was ) and he lives in Liverpool so theres nothing in it :)

Great site by the way

While Mancini is in charge at cty Milner will never be sold as he is the 1st team regular.

BigD

I didn't think Milner had an agent and never wanted one, he certainly didn't when he was at newcastle! Dealings are with himself and his father.

Hey Ed's, Im just curious, all the rumours and speculation surrounding transfers seem to be about players abroad. I was wondering do you guys know of any interest to buy or loan, now or previous, of players in the EPL? for example James McCarthy

Cheers
LFC Paddy {Ed002's Note - There has certainly been interest in the likes of McCarthy.}

I'd prefer Joe Allen ahead of McCarthy. Far better player.
squid81

He would be a brilliant buy to play with Lucas in the middle, and if Wigan go down then i hope we can get him at a more reasonable price than the £20m previously quoted.

BigD

According to my (tertiary) source in the Netherlands, Carlos Tevez will go to Inter Milan for 24.5 million, meaning that one or both of Luc Castaignos and Diego Forlan could be coming to us (Castaignos buy, Forlan loan)

Hmm, man city chairman did say that tevez will only b sold for 25 mill plus add ons

Inter won't be signing Tevez. Basic research dude.

The tevez inter deal is dead

Yes mate we've almost signed David texeira

Guys its on Wiki and on respected Facebook pages that we have signed David Teixera for 7.5 mil!!! Dont slate me! 1st time poster.

LFC Malaysia

Oh god another Wiki novice! - any person can edit Wikipedia and any even bigger person can make up a rumour on Facebook!

Please get a grip!

NS

Wiki? Facebook? And you think these are reliable? You have a lot of learning to do my friend. Considering anyone can post anything on these, I'd hardly be that excited! Come one man!

Although it looks like this deal will be done, seriously you must know this is a wind up? Look further up the Wiki page and it says he's taking French lessons so he can play on Saturday and wind Evra up! Great fun.

I just saw him in sainsburys buying some pork scratchings

Unfortunately, anyone can edit Wiki. I can go to that page now, and change his club to Shamrock Rovers. Doesn't mean he's signed for them.

I'll wait until the Old Media acknowledge it before I get excited

Please don't post again ! Thanks ... Wiki

A return to Liverpool continues to be mooted for FC Twente goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov.

The Bulgaria international has been outstanding for Twente over the last 18 months and has announced he intends to leave Holland in the summer.

There are claims Liverpool have first option on Mihaylov, who has spoken openly about returning to Anfield.

AC Milan are also being linked with the 23 year-old this week.

-------------------

Hope so he is a very good back up keeper for Reina. {Ed002's Note - I would have thought that if he is returning you should perhaps worry about where Reina is going - because there is no way Mihaylov is going to be interested in sitting on the bench and playing for the reserves at Liverpool.}

If Reina were to leave ed where would he go and do you think he may be thinking about leaving, id be surprised if he did leave.

BigD {Ed002's Note - What would be surprising is if Mihaylov returned.}

Surely Reina wouldn't leave us, he ain't getting into the Real or Barca team so that leaves Athletic or Valencia and they would not want to pay the £25m or so to get him..

BigD

I was under the impression that Reina was giving it this season to see how we compeite for a CL place.
Which looks unlikely,but maybe a couple of cup finals might sway him?

25 Jan 2012 12:00:07
Hi Eds

If Liverpool win tonight ( lets hope the do COME ON THE POOL )And also if we win on Saturday Will it help to persuade players to join in January if the have a chance to win a cup.

I mean do you think it would be a good bargain chip

Cork:Red
{Ed002's Note - It will not influence the transfer window at all. Sorry.}

They probably wudnt even get a medal if we won the cup cos they wudnt even get a proper game

There wouldn't be time for them to wait for saturday

25 Jan 2012 11:59:10
Granero is going to continue with Real Madrid, 100 per cent. He played 65 minutes in the last match in the Bernabeu against Athletic Bilbao and maybe the coach is going to consider him more for the future

Granero staying put for now

25 Jan 2012 11:50:07
Hi ed, tribalfootball claim that liverpool and groningen are now discussing the texeira fee. Any truth?

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. Sorry.}

25 Jan 2012 11:32:33
Norwich have put in a bid for Dirk Kuyt

You plonker, its a well known fact that pl only gets young hungry players not pipe and slipper players! keep him, or better still sell him to chelsea,im sure he would fit in there! seriously tho whats happening with downing, carroll, and henderson! they are class but not producing any sort of form.

Been a great player for liverpool but sadly its time to cash in

And Liverpool have put in a £1 billion transfer fee and £25 million pound per week deal for Messi. Wise up man!

Wen kuyt leaves it porbably will be to psv or a dutch team

And don't tell me, the fee involves Delia Smith cooking a meal for the first team comprising Bernard Matthews' Turkey Twizzlers and Hamwiches?

25 Jan 2012 11:27:22
Liverpool have tabled a bid of £15million for versitile Chilean international Mauricio Isla, who can play in numerous positions such as Right/Centre midfield, Right/Left and even Central defence and also started his career as a forward. Likes to get forward down the right hand side and get the ball in the box. ISLA 4.

RedFilly

I think it would be better for us to buy him in the summer because when will he play if he does sign this window. Only way I can see this happening is if Johnson is offloaded but it doesn't likely for him to leave this window. Isla would be an upgrade to johnson because he's about the same attacking-wise but defensively, isla is way better.

Maybe isla will play right midfield and johnson/kelly right back?

Would be good to see a utility player come in, we don't have many

25 Jan 2012 11:21:43

Ed,

Are FSG going to back the manager with funds to strengthen with players capable of taking us to the next level before the window shuts or have they resigned themselves to missing out on top 4 for another season? {Ed002's Note - FSG have provided a lot of support to the manager over the past two windows and it was always clear the bulk of the shopping had been done. As I have said, expect one or two signings in this window but don't expect Cavani etc.. The summer may provide other opportunities, if for instance, Champions League qualification comes about.}

FSG give you 2 thing money and free to choice your player. so don't blame them.

If weve spent the bulk of our transfer money then kenny and damien have done an awful job because the only player theyve bought tht was a good buy was suarez and the new youngsters

25 Jan 2012 10:32:27
Assuming everything with D.Texeira (fee and personal terms) goes okay, what is the situation with a work permit? {Ed002's Note - If he is a player the club are looking to buy, then the club will need to apply for a work permit for him.}

Haha. Very good factual reply Ed!

Just saw this on wikipedia ( I know worst source to get info from) "Texeira was spotted at Liverpools training ground Melwood on the 25th of January, shortly after Liverpools director of football Damien Comolli confirmed the striker had signed a five year deal with the reds. The fee is believed to be around £7,500,000. The striker will go straight into the squad for selection." Eds can we confirm whether this is the case or is this jumping the gun a bit? {Ed002's Note - If it is on Wikipedia then all we await for final confirmation is the single Tweet. Gotta be true man.}

He's playing in holland! Why does he need a work permit? {Ed002's Note - Because he is Uruguayan.}

25 Jan 2012 10:51:49
Liverpool target Esteban Granero has emerged as a shock target for Real Betis according to a report in Spain this morning.

Diario de Sevilla claim Real Betis want the player on loan.

Dalglish has long been linked to the Spaniard, and it was reported Liverpool were on the verge of agreeing a loan deal for the 24-year-old just yesterday.

However, with Betis struggling in La Liga it seems likely Liverpool would be the preferred destination for Granero.

Just read that his management have come out saying he will not be moving 100%. source

According to reports this morning, Granero's representatives have said he's staying at the Bernebeu. You'd think that'd put this rumour to bed. But no. Sigh.

25 Jan 2012 10:40:16
Hi Ed's...
What are the chances for LFC to sign Pablo Hernadez the Valencia winger? Is this true or is this just another gossip? tnx mate {Ed002's Note - Will most likely not be moving from Valencia this January. Past interest has been shown by Italian sides Palermo, Fiorentina and Napoli but I suspect he will stay in Spain if he does eventually move.}

25 Jan 2012 10:29:24
just heard that hazard is not interested in join liverpool he,s interested in joining big european clubs such as real madrid,barcalona ,chelsea,man city ,inter,or juve now is it just me or is any1 else pi..ed off by this so chelsea are a bigger club ,juve ,inter,mancity ,there is no guarantee chelsea will get 4th place this season this season lfc have being tarnished by the media 6points off 4th place with 16 games to go chelsea are shi. and so are are arsenal we have played well for alot of this season bar 3or4games but we need players like hazard to come in to push hard for 4th place if you pay peanuts you get monkeys we are building for the future were saying the future is now the future is 6 points away this season lets get behind lfc and push hard believe....ynwa

Totally agree inter city chelsea will never be as big as liverpool an we don't want players who mistake rich clubs for big ones city an Chelsea r no were near r status as a big club

Listen person we pay good but not insane wages! Do you want us to spend a fortune on players and wages and end up like we were before FSG arived which is to say skint and on the verge of administration! If you can find us a bilionaire backer who'll throw money at players who might be good but if they aren't it doesn't matter then we'll be able to sign a dozen big names.I'm guessing you've NO idea of what our budget is and you're just one of the "Just go out and buy him dopes!

"just heard that hazard is not interested in join liverpool he,s interested in joining big european clubs such as real madrid,barcalona ,chelsea,man city ,inter,or juve now is it just me or is any1 else pi..ed off by this"

a. Who did you hear this from?

b. why would you believe whay thye said?

c. what does it matter what others say

If any player does not really want to play for liverpool then its no use trying to buy them Kenny knows that.

However believing to be true third hand quotes from idiots on what others reportedly said is silly don't you think?

I heard the opposite a couple of days ago. i heard he doesnt want to join chelsea and would prefer a move to a big club with more history like Liverpool or Arsenal {Ed002's Note - Twitter is a wonderful source isn't it.}

At the moment, all those clubs are doing better in their respective leagues, are in CL, and can offer higher wages. So yes, they are bigger clubs. As LFC fans, we think we are the biggest club, but you have to put that in perspective.

Smells like money and so what we want players who play for the shirt hes the type off player that would use liverpool as stepping stone to real etc ex mascharano

Sorry to break it to ya mate,with nochampions league or possibility of winng the title in the foreseeable future im afraid the so called big players will not see liverpool an attractive move at present,regardless of past glories, stature, size of club.rosred

To the guy above, so when Blackburn won the league all those years ago they were the biggest club in England? Doesn't work like that. Historically we are a bigger club than Chelsea and city but of course they're more attractive atm. Doesn't mean they're a bigger club though. We need to start making history again and not living in it. {Ed002's Note - What is the measure of "Bigness"?}

The point i am making hasnothing to do with "big clubs" what im saying is liverpool no longer have the same name as the clubs in manchester and london who are competitive in the latter stages of major competitions every season..its simple really sought after players move to clubs capable of winning or a least being competitive in top competitions,and at the moment sadly the list of clubs does not include liverpool.rosred

Chelsea have won one European Trophy and the competition doesn't even exist any more. They're no bigger than Ipswich, Newcastle or Spurs. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have won the Cup Winners Cup a couple of times.}

Blackburn is a bad example. At the time the likes of Shearee joined they were the City of their day. I.e primed to buy the league.

We are not in such a position, so people will think twice about coming here. Especially as Champs League is far from nailed on for us as it was about 3-4 years ago.

2 biggest clubs in bitain! Liverpool Man Utd thats common knowledge!

You really don't like people questioning your beloved Chelsea do you ed002. A measure of 'bigness' is the fact we are the first or second most successful club in the county. A measure of smallness for chelsea is the fact you have an eight year history. Like someone else said, there is a difference between being a big club and being a rich club. {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Chelsea or anything else. I wanted to know how you measure "bigness" - it was a simple question. It seems that your paranoia is pretty much all consuming.}

Torres said Chelsea is a big club.... must be true.

Shocker

Rob

Like i said get behind the team 6 points off 4th place semi final 2nite utd on sat oh original poster here liverpool fc are a massive club with massive support look at this site for example im a proud liverpool fan /bill/

Chelsea and City may not have a more richer history than Liverpool maybe not even Inter (who i think have a rich history in Italy especially) but realistically its not all just wages, in recent years Liverpool fell out of the Champions Lge into Europa and now fail to make that, so players are thinking can i play in Champs Lge and Liverpool havent been there for the past 3 or so years now, and that would be the main sticking point for a player who achieved a Cup double last year and then tasted Champions League you would pin your money on Chelsea or Arsenal before Liverpool thats the sad truth

But........ we haven't paid peanuts!
We've paid Gold and still got Monkeys!!

We are building for the future by buying some of the best young talent.

Whether some Belgian player thinks Chelsea are bigger than us is irrelevant.

Once all the financial and stadium deals are in place, and the youngsters come through, we will see who is bigger.

25 Jan 2012 10:27:13
We have been heavily linked with each of these players and I believe it necessary that we sign at least two of them, namely a forward and a midfielder,

Luuk de jong
Pablo hernandez
Xherdan shaqiri
David teixeira
Esteban granero
Mauricio isla

They are all top draw, fairly young players. If we are to play football every week like liverpool football club should, we need to shunt players like adam and kuyt, and bring in some top draw talent. I believe time will improve henderson and carroll, but not without talented footballers to play with. Thanks! And big up for tonight! =D {Ed002's Note - Heavily linked?}

How many people had heard of Teixeira / Isla before this week, suddenly these guys are top draw?!

:) ED 002

R-R

But they all play outside the EPL, so it'll take 6 months to get used to it. waste of money.

Sooty

In fairness, I did know who Mauricio Isla was.

But as for Teixeira, De Jong or Granero? Didn't know squat about them until this month.

TSP

As per usual we're linked with 400 players and yet as has always been mentioned we pay peanuts for monkeys where is the faith on our youth talent? pacheco easily as good if not better than hendo, on loan? what is glen johnson doing playing RB when clearly his best trait is attacking get him forward and bleed some of the young lads not trying to be all football manager on ur asses but since we have to "build for the future" we need to give the chance to the young blokes who proved they can do the job both players (johnson & pacheco) could fill up the right wing spot the day we start getting some flair in is the day we'll start to break down defences as good as crossing may be teams know if they defend with large numbers we CANNOT break them down unless we have a bit of magic as is the case with suarez when was the last time liverpool had a proper out and out skillfull winger if i dont recall correctly it goes back to the days when mcmanaman played and he wasnt an out and out more central mid.... i regret to say john barnes so much for attractive football we can pass and move all we want but we go round in circles and blame carrol which i do not think he is worth 35m but it is also unfair to say it is all his fault... when clearly the problem lies beyond him not saying get in hazard but get in young flair players to tear teams apart in tough games its clearly evident barca is dominating the game not on physical strength or long balls but on passing and beating ur man lessons to be learnt my fellow scousers.... YNWA

I agree but i think we must buy these young players now because if we dont get fourth it will be hard to attract big name players to the club buy now

Adam not a quality player... Are you serious? For 10 million it was a bargain!

Gaz YNWA.

Hey Ed, what's the chances of getting either/both Grenaro and Krasic on loan? {Ed002's Note - Granero is surplus to long-term requirements in Madrid but may be needed to provide cover through to the summer. Granero could interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla but unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well but there is no confirmation of either clubs interest.

Juventus will be open to good offers for Krasic but it is clear they wish to sell not loan the player. Discussions have taken place between the Chelsea and Juve with view to a loan move, but Juventus want to sell and Chelsea are not keen to do that. Borussia Dortmund, Zenit St Petersburg, Fenerbahce and Anzhi Makhachkala are also interested and a bid may be made by Bayern Munich. Juventus have made it clear he has no future at the club and have hawked him around a little and Joksimovic has been trying to get Lazio, Liverpool and Spurs interested in the player. They are looking for a fee of around 14M euros and Lazio may just be able to strike some sort of permanent deal which is far preferable to a loan for Juventus. If he cannot be sold in the next few days then Juventus may again consider a loan. I would not hold your breath}

Liverpool are preparing a bid in the January Transfer for Zaha from Crystal Palace, after they were knocked out of the league cup last night against Cardiff. A bid of around 8 million is being rumoured. Man United are also preparing a bid.

I hope they don't, I don't think he up to the standard and isn't strong enough on the ball.

We should put in a joint bid of around £12m for Clyne & Zaha and then loan them back til end of season to keep all parties happy.

BigD

Jordan Ibe is at the club & cheap at 1/8th the price .

I would have him for 8mil but i wounldent pay no more than that

He's not good enough , looks a little lazy aswell

Liverpool have reportedly made an offer for £15m-rated Udinese and Chile international midfielder Mauricio Isla, 23. Source daily star. Is there any truth in this ed? And what would he do too improve our squad?
{Ed002's Note - I would expect the summer to be more likely for a dea, but there appears to be at least some interest.}

Isla is actually a defender who CAN play in midfield and why we need more defenders escapes me since we have plenty of good full and centre backs already.

Isla is johnson's replacement come summer. It is plain interest from the club in order to be first to make a move in the summer.

25 Jan 2012 08:42:12
Good news!!

Finally, we sign Joao Carlos Texeira(19 year old from Sporting Lisabon). THIS IS NOT DAVID TEXEIRA(he is other guy, who we will sign I think)

The transfer announcement not have, because he isn't first team player and will join Academy.

There also other confirmation - Alan Kayll
We have signed Joao Carlos Teixeira (Sporting one)

This is it for now.

I also want to say - CMON REDS!! WEMBLEY WAITING FOR US!!

MARCA are reporting today that liverpool are readying a bid for Pablo Hernandez of Valencia. Don't hold your breath, MARCA can be like the Sun just generate crap to fill the pages, the only time a story is likely to be true is if it is Madrid related(They have moles aha). MARCA is so pro Madrid its ridiciulous, but funny thing is once they have a scoop(about Real) and can't write anything bad about Barcelona they turn on Real i.e the Mourinho,Ramos and Casillas situation. I have gone off the subject, Woops, well Pablo Hernandez seems abit old for LFC policy and I'm not sure if Valencia will sell.

Take note everyone.. That is a RUMOUR!
A story backed up with a source.. No 'I think', 'I believe' or 'my sisters dog scuttles Kenny's dog on Stanley Park and it said' nonsense.. Generic 'believe it or not' rumour.
Just a sign off was missing!
Cheers!

Myk

Seems a bit old? He's younger than Downing!

What do you mean I think it was Stated in MARCA! Can you read spanish! Blimey some people don't read english.... Do you know what MARCA is?

Hey heard some news about making a bid for Dempsey. Any of this true? I think he'd be a good addition seeing he's on good form.

Hi Eds,
Is there any truth to the rumour that we were in for Ricky Van Wolfswinkle, but have now pulled out due to his injury. He will be back in 3 wks or so. Would it still be worth a punt?
Cheers {Ed002's Note - I rather think nothing will come of it this winter.}

Yea i read about this on koptalk. The website was saying it was almost a done deal up until the injury but any idea how reliable the site is anyone or eds?

Lazy Lad

Not reliable at all the lad is a joker and known liar take no notice of that site

I saw a lot of this lad when I worked in Rotterdam for three years , he works extremely hard and just scores , scores , scores .

If he gets a chance he takes it , right , left head , he doesn't burst the net , he just puts the ball in the goal with great simplicity .

Is that a skill we could use , I wonder ?

Going to be a great player, He also does a ham-shank celebration when he scores :) see it on youtube very funny.

Hi Eds,great site.

My friend is a friend of a liverpool staff. I cannot say his name for an obvious reason. Liverpool is on the verge of signing texiera. Subject to medical. And the great news is Liverpool has enquired about the availability of some players. Transfers will be discussed further when the owners arrive. My source also stated that Liverpool is looking for player who will settle straight into the first team. With a number of player is being viewed, maybe we will see two or three players arrive before the windows close. A striker,winger and midfielder would be perfect.

Lastly, my source also stated that Kenny Dalglish is proposing to give chances to youth players like Suso, Sterling, Wisdom, Coady and others.

I've been supporting Liverpool for about 35 years. Lets get behind our beloved team.
YNWA

Suso is 16.. {Ed016's Note - Yeah Suso is a bit young still. But I honestly believe in Sterling, I watch all the youth games when I get a chance on LFCtv online, he is going to be something special, I hope next season he gets a chance}

Suso is 18 in November 2011 and sterling is 17 in december 2011.

I think you'll find that Suso is 18 mate.

Ed016 what do you think about the rumours linking Raheem to a loan switch To west ham.. I would love that, I think it would be great for him to get first team footy before next season starts

Ronillz {Ed002's Note - He is too young to go on loan just yet.}

I reckon Kenny will be out to secure a Europa League place as soon as possible in the Carling Cup, so that he can experiment in the League, and let the youngsters have a go.

Our aim is to win cups and gain 4th spot in the league. If we end up playing Europa League again next season rather than Champs League then the season would be seen as a dissapointment

As it stands, I would take Europa Leage next season. I can't see us going ahead of Amy of the clubs in the top four at the moment, and frankly, the way we've been playing recently we'd be lucky to get 5th as well.

Carling Cup is a necessity in my eyes.

Carling Cup and F.a cup should not be our concern this year.......we need at least 4th spot or Spurs are quite capable of taking our place in the BIG FOUR...and staying there !. They already have a great team, if they get another year of champs league they can start to build a truly great squad too. Utd beat us to young and Jones in the summer and if spurs can offer top players life in London AND champs league we could be losing players to them too. It really is FOURTH OR NOTHING for me for this season.....a nice day out at wembley comes a very poor second for me Im afraid.

The notion that making the Champions League suddenly makes you a big club is silly.

What will happen to Tottenham when Bale and Modric leave? When Redknapp leaves?

Arsenal won't be in the Champions League next season. Will they suddenly stop being a "big club"?

25 Jan 2012 01:24:52
Reports say Liverpool have rejected five clubs' bids to sign Raheem Sterling on loan, any idea why?

Because he is too young to go out on loan perhaps?

Haha b****cks, he's 17, he can't go on loan until he is 18.

I'm not 100% certain mate but it's because it's illegal, I think, with him being under 18.

Raheem is with Liverpool reserve . and our reserve play good football every week. so its no point sending under 18 team . he have class to enter Liverpool senior . he just become 17 so soon we may see him Liverpool senior for few match.

What all the other replies say might have something to do with his non-availability! {Ed002's Note - Because he is too young.}

Well at first he was too young, but now he is establishing himself in the reserves {Ed002's Note - No, he is still too young to go out on loan.}

Because he is one of a handful of players at reserves level who could make the step up and contribute in the first 11. Flanagan Robinson and posibbly Wisdom and Suso being the others.
I'd put him in for the last 15 minutes of a game - I cannot imagine his end product to be sub-standard as Downing or Henderson (how is he keeping Shelvey out of the team).

25 Jan 2012 00:08:13
Liverpool wont be spending any money this transfer window.. they will only attempt to loan players, granero will sign before the next premier league game from real madrid untill the end of the season

{Ed016's Note - I believe S. Texiera will definately be coming, but will play a role like Coates on the bench for a season or so. Yeah Granero has been offered around but we can only wait and see}

Hi, Do u mean portuguese 19 year old attacking midfielder or the uruguay 20 year old striker. Thanks

{Ed016's Note - I apologize, I meant J.Texiera, there are too many of them mind my mistakes on this one. Yeah Kenny has already stated that we are very much interested in the player.}
