Hi ed, just a quick question. Now that Aqua has gone to Ac milan and Raul is injured, do you think there is anymore of a chance of trying to get Tolouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko? i think he'd be perfect. Young.. Looks like alot of potential. (french if that matters because DC is french too lol)
What do you think? I've had my fingers crossed since the transfer window opened. Would love to see him in red.
Thanks!

MattYNWA {Ed002's Note - I think there will be a better idea after the weekend but Roma appear close to a move for him.}

If I was Wenger moussa is who i'd be after....just saying......Duckula

Sebastian Coates to have medical 4pm friday afternoon.

25 Aug 2011 22:53:47
Apparenly Coates gets the better of Suarez one on one with the national team hence Luis admiration and recommendation to pool - must be a solid defender to be doing Luis lad.

Hi eds and macca and all i have it on good authority that skrtel is going and cahill is coming in hope its true he is a liabiltiy
Kirkers lfc4eva

Credit for signing that mate but can you tell us who the "good authority" is? Maybe don't breach his/her confidence but tell us why they represent a good authority (agent etc)

Isn't Skrtel injured? If so, a move would seem a bit of a long shot.
Prelen

No he isnt the most likely centre back after we sign coates is dann

HOW can you say he was a liability when he played all our premier league games, and when were struggling under Hodgson SKRTEL stood out at the back............ Look back at the Hodgson games and you'll see...... I thought he improved last season

I hope this rumour is true he's a complete liability. We need footballers who can bring the ball out from defence....

Is an agent a good source?
Regardless this one isn't happening!

through the storm

When we signe Coetes and Bellemy... we will sell Skertle and Kuyt and KK will swoop for Dann and Jarvis on deadline day... watch this space, honest truth... I got this off the club P.A tonight over a few drinks!

Looks like Skrtel is going to be fourth choice, I don't think you'll find a better fourth choice defender in the league!

Great bloke

dmedly

Idiot! skrtel played every minute of epl last season and only missed three other fixtures (including the loss to northampton town) and even captained the team. the guy is 26 and just reaching his prime. i can only asume, but i bet your a liability at your work!

Give Skrtel his due, he may make mistakes sometimes but he's a solid choice and as the other commenter said he'd be the best 4th choice centre back in the PL!

New rumours starting about Bryan Ruiz. I've no idea who he is, not slating him but I don't think I can support a bloke called Bryan!
Is it just me?
UR

He's a good player!

Haha, know what you mean. But what about shouting for Sebastian ?
The Real KB

Very good player. Just what we need down the right wing, but can also play as a CAM. If the rumour is true, i'll be really chuffed.

BooDaBooze

But seba sounds cool

Top player, well skillfull. He's worth at least 12million pounds

At least we can all sing .... always look on the bright side of life.

Im bryan and so is my wife.......ha ha .welease byan

I like him. His nickname is " The Weasel". Comedy. Duckula

regarding the bellamy situation , i have been reliably informed that city will happily let him out on loan to a championship club to basically see out his contract but to a prem club they will demand a nominal fee which at present we are not prepared to pay !

kopace

That makes very little sense to me, considering they have just let adebayor go to spurs on loan.

LFC-IRE

I can well see that being right
The Real KB

Don't talk garbage, they have just loaned adebayor to tottenham, who ARE more of a rival than us currently as they finished higher than us last seasson thus making them...a little better than in a fashion, and i'm sure city as a team rate adebayor as a better player than bellamy, so that is absolute dribble mate i'm afraid, we are not a rival team, were not in europe and most people don't give us a prayer for the league and have us finishing 5th so city won't be worried about us or his few appereances for us as a sub when carroll or suarez ain't fit. he won't win us the league, OUR own expectations are usually a bit OTT,

Why not?surely bargain still

Blimey, the third response is cheerful. I think I'll stick a hot baguette in my eye now.

ps. I actually think we might win the league this year...

Fyi...Man city have agreed to let bellamy go on a free...Get your facts right before you post crap

The Hot Baguette thing just had me laughing like a beast...... love it!!!

2nd for me this season to City with United third and Chelsea 4th

Let him stay the more players on there books the better in a few years time they'll be giving us money ta take them off there books so the Aguero rumors will be back sorry EDs

Yeah but no one else said anything about Bellamy till Macca first posted it. Now every poster has 'news' about LFC and Bellamy. sickening

No team that has finished the previous season below third,has gone on to win the premier league.Yes records are there to be broken,and of course we would all love it to happen.But im a realist,and unfortunately theres going to be two Manchester clubs above us at the end of the season.Small steps lads,small steps.

I was the first to break the news that DC had convinced Kenny to make a move for Coates, rather than pursue Gary Cahill & his inflated price tag (check the archive, I told you all on the 17th Aug-).

I have been tipped off about another move, which at this point in time, has not been picked up on by the Press hounds. Twente's Costa Rican forward Bryan Ruiz is the player in question. He is available for around £12m, and DC has apparently been negotiating with his club for some time. It is a possibility that Ruiz will only be signed, if Cole agrees to move to QPR or Fulham.

Ruiz is versatile, and can play up top or on either wing, and this is something which gives him a slight edge over other potential targets.

I can not say hand on heart that this move will definiteley come off, but what I can say is, I got this info from the same person that tipped me off about the move for Coates 2 weeks ago, so watch this space.

P.S
Don't buy into everything the Ed's say. Coates would have been rated a 1/10 this time last week. As Im sure Ruiz will be today.

Mr Yellow

Your not the first to break the news on here about ruiz though, if you check previous posts you will see he has already been rumoured

Ive checked the archive and you hit the nail on the head my friend .....ynwa

kopace

You did indeed announce the Coates rumour on the 18th Mr Yellow, its there for everyone to see.

With that in mind no one can really dismiss the Ruiz rumour. I don't know anything about him but presume he fits the FSG criteria. Whats your opinion of him Mr Yellow and do any of the Eds know much about the player?

Ozone

I for one believe you. I do do hope Ruiz signs, he would be an excellent signing.

Papa G

I have also been told we have been speaking to Ruiz hope dc can tie it up. Seb Coates is a done deal,Well done DC

Well done sir. You successfully got lucky exactly like myself on the 21st.

"21 Aug 2011 15:27:07
Sebastian Coates?

Giant at 6'5, makes Carroll look small.

He is strong, dominant and a major threat from dead ball situations.

Would be a risk I expect 10m would do it but he is destined for greatness. Young player of the Copa America. He is gonna be class.

I assume Liverpool aren't interested currently ed?

Signed Me {Ed002's Note - Nope.}"

I never 'broke the news' but assumed he is just the player we are looking for.

Signed Me

Moving on I presume being the prediction and 'In The Know Kid' you can pronounce his name correctly??? Spell it out please; aLa like this

Ronaldo : Ron-Nald-O

Are you expecting a round of applause?

There have already been some suggestions that Ruiz was a target

I can see him being a target, as he was last summer when Hodgson was in charge.
But he has been quite open in the press about offers he's recieved from Tottenham and Fulham. He has yet to mention Liverpool at any stage, so I can't see how we may have been in discussions for some time. As you have said, he could be an option should Joe Cole move on.

RedSG

I like the idea mr y but isn't he the guy uncle woy' tried to sign last year?
Thought Fulham were faves for his signature ?
Rugbyred

You could of just pulled a random name out of a hat and have been lucky. and don't slate the eds.

And I mentioned that DC had checked the availability of Coates DURING the early stages of the tournament which is way before 17th Aug. Check the archive too. I don't think i was the first either.

What do you wont a medal,fair enuf you said it as you keep telling us.get over it

ste liverpool

Maybe you should set up your own rumour site and copy rumours that the Eds and Macca have mentioned, as mr Ruiz has already been mentioned :)

I believe you Mr. Yellow and personally I would love to see Bryan Ruiz signed.

Markolfc

Mr Yellow, very poor form to claim credit as the first. Use the SEARCH in top right and type in Sebastian Coates and you will find the a user called Chi Paul pre-dated you by over a month!

Thats very harsh on the Ed's. Transfers change all the time and never stay the same so its very had for them. Give them a break!
Wheeler92

Lol, busted stealing credit Mr Yellow. I think "Get Your Coates, taxi for Mr Yellow"

Coates was linked straight after the copa america so no points there

Make your own website if u dont want to listen to the ed's transfers changr all the time i for 1 will listen to the eds!

Ed's,

I heard a rumour a few weeks back that LFc we looking at Sebastian Coates of the Uruguay at Copa America. Have you heard this and how much would he cost as I think he'll get a permit handily enough as he is now getting game time. A mate for Saurez too. Thoughts on thgis?

Chi-Paul {Ed001's Note - there has been a lot of talk about getting another Uruguayan in, but I am not convinced by it as Suarez has settled in nicely and made friends already. But he wouldn't cost much, probably 5m at the most.}

Myself and 001 were all over Coates back in July. Ed even quoted the ballpark price too.

Chi-Paul

You want a cookie mate? Good job you were only a few weeks off! You must be DC posing as yellow. Take it down a notch and the eds do us all a service running this site if you don't like it don't come to it. YNWA.

Trust me ruiz is the most overrated player and i for one would rather bellamy

I've been reading this site DAILY since about a year, am thoroughly hooked on it. I initially thought the eds were simply moderators to ensure the rowdies don't get unruly on the site. But it looks more and more like site followers see them as some type of "all-seeing all-knowing" insiders who cannot commit any mistakes. Sometimes, I see the eds behaving that way too. Both sides are always bound to see disappointment. Just a small thought ;-) . ra1969

Omg, he doesn't deserve a cookie. Claiming other peoples credit and being a bit obnoxious in the process. If there a cookies going, I should get it for crediting Chi-Paul correctly. Are they shortbread? If so, too many calories so might just have half a biccie instead.

Bellamy over Ruiz? Some people are probably watching fight with golf clubs. Bellamy WAS a mediocre player for us and at his 32 you should seriously need to check yourself if you think he is better than Ruiz.

Sorry Mr Yellow but you are definitely an also ran in the Bryan Ruiz rumours. I actually stated this rumour this time last year (because that is how long that we have been looking at him). However, I'm not going to claim that I was the first then - in much the same way that you're not the first now my friend. Anyway Bellamy will sign instead.

25 Aug 2011 20:46:45
Coates and Bellamy done deals trust me it will be announced by sat.

On what basis must we trust you?

Didn't even sign post and repeated what everyone else said.

25 Aug 2011 20:03:11
Hi Ed, Do you think there is any chance of us going in for Diego at Wolfsberg. I know there was a lot of interest in him earlier in the summer but it seems to have gone quiet. I think he would be a great on the right or behind the striker, and at 7m euros he is a bargain for for what he offers.

DP_LFC_1892 {Ed002's Note - Most unlikely.}

25 Aug 2011 20:02:25
Hi ed just heard of a rumour about Muniain what do you think the chances are of him signing for us {Ed002's Note - About none.}

He is coming seen him at Alicante airport with Peter bunker

25 Aug 2011 19:34:58
Ed - Is Dann likely to join? Also Cahill? Would be a perefcrt solution for the long term to have these two with Coates. Bit like the Hansen, Lawrenson and Gillespie days. {Ed002's Note - It will be Coates unless there is a problem.}

With the defenders we have now: Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Wilson and presumably to be Coates.
Skrtel in my view is very clumsy and careless. Agger very injury prone. Wilson is very inexperienced, and Carragher is coming to the end of the tether.
There may well be room for one or the other, or even both all depending if other clubs sign them or not, and who leaves LFC in the coming seasons

25 Aug 2011 19:23:51
any chance of getting stuuridge ? :) he's quality and young ?
......... {Ed002's Note - Very unlikely.}

Chelsea are preparing an astonishing deal for Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles and are willing to offer Salomon Kalou and Daniel Sturridge to land him, according to Caughtoffside.com.

{Ed002's Note - This is of course nonsense. It has been suggested that Kalou could be part of a deal. Looking at the caughtoffside.com this is clearly what they say as well. I have no idea how you managed to read it as both players being exchanged. tinyurl.com/3otpvyz I can't imagine Mereiles made more than a few appearances under AVB before he was sold.}

Oh caught offside, very believeable.....

They only bought juan matta so they could swap him for Meireles

Yes mate. They bought Mata just to keep him benched for Meireles.

Hi Edds.... Still not sure whether to jump for joy or moan at Aqua man leaving. Nothing to do with the fact he's gone or i think he great player, but the cost of transfer.

Could you please enlighten me wages and signing on fees aside how much we actually paid for him and how much we selling him. Would really like to know how big a hit we have taken

Thanks

Taffytel {Ed002's Note - The fee was 20M euro, eventually he will be sold for 5.7M euro less 1M euro contribution to his salary next season - you cannot simply ignore that.

I think the only consolation in this is that it was hicks and gilletts money that bought him, but its us that gets the fee. Cold comfort, I know.....
Wine for my men, we ride at dawn {Ed002's Note - So you don't think it was money borrowed against the club that bought him?}

I think this may be a bad move. Gerrards still injured and now is Meireles. We cant ask suarez to do all the running, scoring and creating goals all season. Henderson doesnt look good enough yet. However i do think if the player isnt happy he should be gone. Still think we need one or two attackers i dont think carrolls up to much and if we lose suarez were knackerd for gaols.

Get over it hes gone,he did so well for us didnt he.will be a big void in the squad,NOT glad to see the back of him.big mistake when we got him

ste liverpool

Don't we still owe Roma £5m too, and if so does that mean we got absolutly nothing back for him?

Gman82 {Ed002's Note - Nothing is owed on the original purchase now.}

Ed did juve and milan pay LFC loan fee's?
Drezperado {Ed002's Note - No.}

Yeap, for now were all craving about how our team looks solid and all but with Gerrard and Meireles out, Joe Cole..err..rubbish, i think KK made a mistake letting Aqua go, now you guys say that its bcoz he doesnt want to play for us. That was never the case at all, it was bcoz KK doesn't see him in his plans which has forced Aquilani to move and naturally he would choose Italy bcoz he can settle in quickly. Come the end of the season, if a couple of draws cost us automatic CL qualification spots i.e. 1st,2nd or 3rd. We might look back and think maybe if KK played Aquilani, there could be a difference in those games. I know it cost us dearly last season!!!..

Eds, is Coates the perfect replacement for Carragher/ Hyppia {Ed002's Note - He is an addition to the squad, don't get too carried away.}

Hes young,wuold take a few seasons to bed in

ste liverpool

Ed2....is that sour grapes lol hes an excellent player and lfc fans have every reason to get carried away haha

I agree, ED2 sour grapes {Ed002's Note - So you think it is sour grapes to suggest he may not immediately be the perfect replacement for Hyppia and Carragher?}

Absolutely typical ed002 you must be the most pesimistic person in the world
DCG {Ed002's Note - It is not being pessimistic.}

C'mon Ed 2 this fella is a good player,why would you not get carried away with him,i am not expecting him to eclipse Carra r Hypia,i think all US Pool fans are happy we are putting together a strong team and a decent bench for once in a long time and you know he is a very good player,they dont hand out awards in big competitions to average players...also if it does come off thank you Luis Suarez for chatting to him. {Ed002's Note - So you don't see him as an immediate replacement for Carragher and Hyppia either then? Which is what I said.}

If he's as good as reported and what we've seen in the Copa Cup.
Once he gets in the team you wont get him out.
kidmillions

Ed 002! you have had a shocker mate! whilst i usually post drunk here in OZ because you guys start posting during my drinking hours (i aint an alco) you are off the ball on this one! Watched him closely in the copa and he is prob as good as any defender in the league! he is quick enough, definately big and strong enough, great composure thus suarez rates him so highly, one of our best buys and for he will start with aggers very quickly allowing carra off the bench who can also LB and Rb. Dont get me wrong i love carra's but this will also prolong his career and provide more stability to the squad! {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you think I have said against the player. I have said he is young and much is expected of him. He is 20 and has only played a handful of games at a decent level, and you seem to have decided that he is better than Hyppia and Carragher - that is hard for me to agree, sorry. I am pretty astonished that you as a Liverpool fan have decided that this lad who has yet to even play in a training session for Liverpool is the replacement for these tow players.}

Fair play 002! but he deserves more then to be a squad player! better then Hyppia now, prob better carra very soon. Notable how good they both are but he is something else.

Macca. How likely is Bellamy to come back to us?
Thank you very much Eds and Macca!

25 Aug 2011 18:16:43
Ed's quick questions about two players. 1) I realise it will be a couple of days before Coates will become an official player with the work permit fiasco but could he be in Liverpool today/tonight to complete his medical and sign the deal and do you think LFC will anounce the transfer or wait untill it is offical? 2) I have been reading different media sources one claiming the complete opposite to another in regards to the Bellamy situation all i want to know is how confident are you or Macca in Bellamy becoming a Liverpool player once again before the window shuts?

Thanks and an exceptional site keep it up. {Ed002's Note - (1) No idea, but it would normally be astute to wait until it is official. (2) I can't answer for Macca and he would be much better placed to answer this than me.}

There is no work permit fiasco? His background suggests it will not be an issue.

25 Aug 2011 18:16:11
Hi Ed,
Read the posts on Bellamy + Benayoun, and I understand that Bellamy could come, depending if City will let him go to a rival, but you say that Benayoun will probably head to Roma?
Is this because we are more concerned to complete the Bellamy deal, or we are only getting one of the two.

Thanks Ed's
Burnsy {Ed002's Note - Roma have an acceptable offer on the table. I guess if Liverpool match it, then it will be up to the player.}

25 Aug 2011 17:07:52
another LOAN FOR AQUILANI..is this a joke??

so he keeps going out on loan...until we cant even get anyone to buy him for 1 million.........and he goes on a free..

bloody stupid managerial decisions...pathetic {Ed002's Note - You need to understand the provisions of the loan - it will turn to a full sale by the end of the season. If it doesn't Liverpool could be due to pay additional performance related bonuses to Roma, which would really be ironic.

Ed002, DC says

"Throughout the entire process, his only desire has been to play football and he has put this ahead of any other considerations and at personal cost to himself. We wish him well for the season ahead." (Sorry for Copy and paste)

Does this mean that £1m pay off rumoured earlier in the week was just a rumour?> Any news regarding a fee come next year?

RedSG {Ed002's Note - The financial details have been posted since the weekend. In summary: After 25 games the move will become permanent and 6M euro will be paid over two years (three instalments of 2m euro paid each June). For the first season Liverpool will pay 1M euro (although it was suggested it may be 1.5M euro) towards his wages. Liverpool will also pay 300k euro to Roma if the deal is made permanent before the end of next season. Agents fees have been waived. Comolli is simply being politically correct. he would not want to tell his real thoughts on teh subject.}

Aquilaini to Milan? Missed out on another one...

Exactly the reason why we should have kept him as a valuable squad member, apart from maybe Saurez, the most talented flair player on our books. He has a contarct with us - and yes there are times when you keep a player who ALLEGEDLY wants away, still haven't seen a link that leads to him actaully saying that - never trust what a journalist or agent says.

John B {Ed002's Note - He has described his move as a "big leap" in his career today. But why believe me?}

Hi Ed...would I be right to say that we get a loan fee for these deals? {Ed002's Note - It varies for loans. There are options as to who pays the wages, is a fee paid to take the player on loan etc.. But the deal for Aquilani is (a) Liverpool being paid 6M euro over a couple of years when the deal becomes permanent after 25 games; (b) Liverpool giving Aquilani 1M euro immediately to sweeten the wage deal for the first year - although I understand an effort was made to get this to 1.5M euro; (c) Agent fees being waived; (d) Liverpool giving 300k euro to Roma to close out the remaining contractual clauses when the deal becomes permanent - and this is after paying the final instalment of 5M euro to Roma in June. In addition to mentioning the "big leap" in his career, he was quoted as saying today: "I am very glad that I came here, this is the best club in the world, I am a fortunate guy. This is a turning point in my career and I feel only beautiful emotions. I came to Milano to do well. I suspect he emptied his locker at Melwood.}

True - but do you blame him? Like numerous Fat Waiter signings - was he given a chance? And in reality playing football in a pretty good climate, at the San Siro, with CL games coming up against Barcelona - or playing in dodgy English weather during our winter - it really is a no brainer - and I am not directly having a go at you, all I have ever wanted to see is the man himself saying he wanted to go - not purely hearsay. 1959 I first stood on the KOP, and I have never not supported a player in RED, I have wondered about some of the signings of course, and will say if I don't think a player is not good enough to wear the shirt, but when they cross the white line wearing the shirt they will always have my support.

John B

Why has he never come out and said no i dont wont to leave ill fight for my place,why has he gone on loan twice now.because he dosnt wont to be here says it all

ste liverpool

How can anyone say we should have kept him. It has been clear for ages what he was going to do and what he wanted to do. There is no way we would have got value for money from him. He was a "wrong 'un" from day one when we bought him injured.

John B I have a couple mint condition mono Beatles LPs autographed by the boys. I have lost the certificate of authenticity and an appraiser told me they're fakes but that's all ALLEGED. I assume you're interested regardless of the easily searchable and widely agreed upon facts.

TheKaiser

It is not that he wanted to go, it is that Kenny didnt want him in his plans at all despite playing in pre-season. For me thats the major factor!!!. Now that Raul Meireles is injured, i cant see Joe Cole ever getting to his Chelsea days i wonder if KK will realise his minor folly.
Almost every journalist has said that as well, Aquilani isnt going to Italy because he doesnt like England. He was way over that rubbish long tyme ago, he is going because KK doesnt rate/want him which for me is a stupid mistake... {Ed002's Note - You are so wrong.}

John B and original poster, u pair are mad ! I would happily let Albert the moneygrabbing f*g leave for free ! He doesn't like Liverpool it is plain to see . WE ARE BETTER OFF WITHOUT !

Prodigy Nick

We have been scorched and aqua's a n..t. i am not surprised he does'nt want to show his face, he knows he has short changed us and he does'nt give a h..k. all you give aqua a chance boys need to wake up and get real.

Easy there Prodigy Nick... He has done no such thing as moneygrab. He didn't play much his first season due to a number of factors and was immediately shipped out by Hodgson, and if I do remember it was before he even had a chance to have him in practice, or just a handful of practices, and I can definitiely see how that would grate on him and make him think twice about hanging around the club.

That said, I'd much rather see ANY amount of money coming in for a player as opposed to allowing them to leave for free. But it's also not my money being spent, so I'm not one to complain about these high fees and wages. Let's not attack other fans or players (or even ex players) of our great club with unfounded accusations.

McSnugglesOG.

btw, moenygrabbing f*g? Really? Not sure how that good through, and if you're privy to his sexual preference then good on you, but otherwise, leave the slurs out of it shall we?

Top job, eds.

Shiped out how was he,he had the option to stay get fit and try and get in the team but he wonted to go.plus did u not see kk say if he stays he would be more than happy

ste liverpool

Mcsnuggles I just assumed he was cos he looks like one (does he not ? ) and by moneygrabbing I think I'm right in saying a reason for collapse of a possible move at beginning of window due to wage demands ? The guys deserves a pay as u play contract like Owen Hargreaves

Prodigy nick

To John B and All the other deluded Souls

Firstly, and I'll hold my hands up to this, but we've all blamed Hodgson for the initial loan. Why, because he was Roy Hodgson, and could do nothing right.

So he goes on loan and comes back after being messed about by Juventus - still Italy's number 1 club. But in the meantime we appoint Kenny as manager, the club is sold and everything including our form in the latter part of the last season points to a rosier future.

We go on pre-season - Aquilani excels in some matches, average in others.

Kenny clearly rates him, how many times have you heard him call anyone a "top footballer." Steve Clarke said he has the quality to be a first teamer if he stays.

That doesn't sound to me as though the management were desperate not to use him this season, bearing in mind that almost anyone with a brain could see he was our best player pre-season.

I honestly don't think Dalglish would wish to lose someone of Aquilani's talent, unless there are other factors, beyond his control, in the equation...

I asked around earlier this year to try and find out the situation and the person I conversed with said that it was Aquilani who asked to go on loan, despite what he said in the papers. I couldn't believe it...

In summary, they said he had never settled on Merseyside, had feigned injury at times and was a bit of a moaner behind the scenes in his injury hit first year with us. Maybe to do with his state of mind trying to recover from injury. I pressed them but they said the information was from an unimpeachable source.

So we can blame Hodgson, Purslow, Dalglish etc but the truth is it's Aquilani who had no intention of fulfilling his lucrative 5 year contract. He has taken a massive cut in wages, such is his desperation to leave for the Italian Champions.

I fear anyone who thinks because he said he wanted to stay in the press, is maybe, being supremely naive. It's a bit like Torres declaring undying love for us, saying he was staying in the press, 3 weeks before he handed in a transfer request.

Everything the source said has come true. Perhaps a lesson learnt, not to take things at face value.

I wish Alberto well, but can't help feeling we've been played all along. Lets support the players who want to commit to us.

Hey Ed's goal.com done some stupid report saying we refuse to pay bellamy's wages and that bellamy has told his friends that he prefers to stay at man city :S is there any truth in this because there is also another report by the daily mirror saying bellamy has told his friends that he would jump at the chance to come back to liverpool .. who's to be believed ? {Ed002's Note - I don't know - Macca is probably the best to answer this.}

Goal.com are anti-liverpool

From what I understand Bellamy does not want to drop his wages because it enables him to run his football foundation (in Africa I think)
I'm sure he would love to move to back here as he is not wanted at Man City, but the deal has to be right for all parties.

RedSG

He will only come if its on a free

ste liverpool

Bellamy has told his friands and family that he profers a move to liverpool it was in the mail i think

Cheers lad's hopefully we get him along with coates and 1 more player (benayoun or kalou)

And why are you reading the manchester gazette ? (the mail)

ED : What is the latest on Ngog, it all seem's to have gone quiet. Is he still going to Bolton ? Thanks {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new.}

25 Aug 2011 16:34:40
How can people say bellamy would'nt be good enough as our back-up striker because he played in the championship last year? Does that mean carroll,adam an enrique are'nt good enough too because only two years ago they were in same position, I don't hear you complaining about them so much...

Skurks

To be honest a lot of childish fans do have a go at carroll and adam, they need to grow up and realise the potential that carroll has, he has another ten years ahead of him! and for adam his crossing ability and freekick are second to none and for only around 6 million it is a very good deal!

Regrettably there is much complaining, atleast among the more reflecting fans.
Torres-superstar -sold for 50m
Carroll- VERY average so far, an overpriced 35m
Alonso and Masch worth 30m each and world stars, Adam, just 12 mths prem experience, just a "solid player" so far, cost= 9m
Imagine if Hicks and Gilette had been responsible for ALL of this change..

I think I speak with many reds when I say that I'm FAR from convinced about Henry and Co..

We already have players over 30. We just can´t bring in player after player that we won´t be able to sell later on. We are trying to cut down on the wage bill.

Bellamy to Liverpool just don´t make any sense.

LFC for life

How can you say that you are not convinced by the new owners? They have spent over 50 million from their own coffers in just eight months (considering the fact that they allowed KD to spend the 50 million from Torres immediately) What does it take to convince you, the former two clowns who were close to destroying LFC? You must grow up and start talking some sense

To the fatuous person who said that they are far from convinced with " Henry & Co" remember who was in charge when hicks & co left a certain Mr Hodgson and look who is in charge now that Henry & co are here a Mr Dalglish. Enough said.

That 3rd comment is soo stupid, firstly the Americans onwer spend about 120 mill towards the transfers, secondly the onwers isn't responsible for buying players Danglish and Comolli is, and finally yes if rafa was here he would prob buy some good signing like mata, Hazrd etc. don't blame the owners, they are transforming Liverpool club not making it into THE GLAZERS CLUB NO.2

Daglish is sooooo much better than rafa, dont even mention him

"not convinced" means, I think we're getting a s**t deal.

1)Bellamy is crap. Did u ever see him at Cardiff last year? He didnt even stand out for them. I know ALOT about him as a player and a person.

2)Henry bought the club for a song.
He's sold well paid stars and brought in medium wage potentials/ also rans.

ITS BEEN OUR MONEY ALONE THAT BOUGHT THIS SUMMERS SIGNINGS.
NOT the smooth talking, promise nothing Bostonians.

3)Our former rivals - Mancs x2, and Chelsea have WAY better squads. AND spent big this Summer.4th is seen as a "SUCCESS" yet we're still the biggest/ 2nd biggest in britain... supposedly.

4)

PS if they cant afford signings, why dont they let US buy into the club. Ahhh thats right, because they want the long term profits to themselves. Werner's probably got DIC's number on speed-dial for a sale.

5)U havent got a clue!! I bet you were applauding Hicks and Gilette up til the end. Internet public relations stooges?

To the poster who said that Carroll is VERY average for £35m.

What has Torres been for the past 2.5 years? VERY AVERAGE and we got £50m for him! You cant class torres as a superstar based on the last 2 seasons! He's scored 1 in 19 for the chavs!

Carroll has the ability to be massive, he's a powerful classic centre forward who just needs the right service to get the best out of him. He's scored more goals than Torres since they both moved.

To the muppet with the 5 individual points - we dont have a owner with unlimited wealth e.g man city, chelsea or building from a consistent base i.e. man u. Hicks & gillette were driving the club into the ground - NESV bought the club for a song?? If so, you must be minted!!! Maybe you should give Mr Henry a call and ask if you could buy it. Presumably since we have bought crap players, you have a raft of medals that mirrors what Kenny Dalgish has won as a manager and built a team capable of winning a league?? OUR money alone has bought the signings??. I'm sure ticket/merchandising sales dont cover cost of acquisitions. get behind the team.

To the 5 point nerd Alonso and Mascerano. You'd think Alonso was man of the match every time he played which is not true is it, He played well in his 1st and last seasons with Lfc the bit in the middle he was not so good was he!!
Mascerano great little player, tackling 100% endeavour but couldn't pass a ball could he!!
Get behind our current players and be a proper supporter.
kidmillions

I agree with the post were not man city an nesv have injected over £50 million out of there own pocket they have done what they can an i for one am greatfull considering the position we was in before they came in. I say stop all the slating an get behind the owners the club and players i believe where in a good position at this present time an were only going to get better with time,
skurks

I agree with the poster questioning the new Yonks. Since when was Liverpool a "lets hope we get 4th" club?
The other guys an idiot if he thinks NESV give a shxx about us.It looks like our money going into their pockets.. again.
And some of us HAVE been trying to buy stakes in the club. Henry told us "mind your own business what I paid for the club" and would rather leBron James own shares that us fans. He doesnt want investment because he wants all the profits. Compare Rafa's team to this and its downgrades ALL OVER THE PITCH.
Bellamy? FFS..

Staying away from the owner debates (they've been in the job less than a year, chill out maybe?), Bellamy will never work as a player for Liverpool and didn't really the last time he was here - purely because of the way he plays.

He is a not a bad player by any stretch, but he needs space behind the defence to attack. Teams coming to Anfield (and about 50% at home) are very reluctant to give us that space - even United, Chelsea etc. are wary of it. Bellamy will not thrive anywhere except at a lesser team in a respective division for this very reason.

And before anyone weighs in about the success he enjoyed at City, you ahve to remember they were hardly a great force. A good side yes, but not one that commanded a lot of respect, especially under Hughes.

TSP

Jeez, looks like NESV have some "brand fans" on the payroll already. NESV havent put 50 million grains of sugar into LFC, let alone 50m Pounds.
GET YOUR FACTS ATLEAST REMOTELY NEAR THE TRUTH, before looking so silly...!
Its sad that so-called "fans" are so gullible.
Before we were buying Madrid's castoffs.
Are we being Cardiff's castoffs now?
I can imagine what Shanks is saying now..

I think you'll find your completly wrong about nesv have you seen the press box on lfc tv when they interviewed werner an some of the boston red sox fans? Werner done nothing but say the right things an he an henry have already proved in just 8 months they back the club an don't pocket it for them selves an if you ever here a red sox fan they never have a bad word to say about the owners they have nothing but good to say about them an look what they've done wiv boston the guided them to win there first world series title in like 84 years in 2004 an done it again two years later!
Skurks

Henderson: 20m
Downing: We'll say 18m conservatively
Adam: 7m
Doni: Free
Enrique: 6m

That alone is 51, and JUST THIS SUMMER. They also allowed the Torres money to be spent immediately on replacements.

Get your Ameri-hatred out of here.

McSnugglesOG

So they haven't put anything into the club? So if torres and babel cash paid for Suarez and Carroll who paid for the other 5 signings??? Must all be on a free transfer. And yes they are in it for profit Einstein- tuyere not lifelong fans but to make money they need success on the pitch- I couldnt care less how much they make if they bring us success. The point about 'superstars' is we didn't pay superstar fees to get them- Alonso, Torres and mas were respected but not the stars they are now. Carroll has played 3 games fit for us and your on his back- he's 22, not been bought for a few games and he didnt decide the fee. He will be the main English forward with Rooney for years to come. Why don't you do
Some thinking and get behind your team for a change.

No pleasing some people. NESV come in bring back the king, restore pride in our club, make changes to up our turnover so we can compete financially, invest in young signings, do deals the lfc way behind closed doors with respect not in public like the texan bullsh*tters before. As for fourth ii think champs league presitige is a fair target to aim for and all the fans who want the league i want it too but we havent won it for over 20 years now! so it wont happen overnight. NESV has given pride back to lfc fans so stop running before we can walk or you will truly walk alone. In Kenny we trust

I very rarely get any transfer rumours but I have today been told that Liverpool will sign Nolan Roux. I hope this is correct, any news Eds?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - He has been linked with Newcastle and Leverkusen recently, but I am not aware of interest from Liverpool but it doesn't mean there is none.}

Why on earth would we sign Yossi? We are offloading Aqua, who is better and younger, clearly in an effort to open space and wage for other young talent...
Does no one remember Yossi's comments when we showed him the door last time?
He only played in 12 games last season, "experience" (he's 31) only counts if it's recent and relevant.

Seth

Totally agree, this would be a backwards step how many games did he play for Chelski last year not many too injury prone now.

Hi Eds; Is there any chance of banning the words 'Aqua' 'Aquaman' or 'Aquilani' from the rumour and banter pages please?

JRG

We're not offloading Aqua for any reason, the player himself simply doesn't want to play for us or live in England.

It is your assumption that we are offloading Aqua to create sapce for fresh young talent, I think that LFC will be getting rid of him ( reluctantly?) for their own reasons, although your point might be valid but only a contributing factor.
As for Yossi he only played 12 games last year due to injury and his experience is still valid... How many games did Maxi play last year? he did okay in a run of games under KK when called upon.
I think Yossi would be a good edition to the squad.

I agree with the Yossi part. Don't want to see him back playing for us. He was quick enough to leave last time.
The Real KB

Yossi would provide a different dimension to the Liverppol squad, and would just imrpove Liverpool attacking options, dunno why everyone thinking players in their 30's are a "backwards step" look at players like Di natale, Pirlo, Giggs, Carragher etc are very experiance quality players, just buying young players you would end up as Arsenal very important to have a mix of experiance and youth

Yossi didn't leave liverpool as he wanted to jump ship and join a bigger club - as shown in his interview just after signing for chelsea...

"The Israeli midfielder, who joined Chelsea in a four-year deal this month, said the former manager made his life a misery while he was at the club.

"Everyone asks me why I left Liverpool," said Benayoun. "There is only one reason – Rafa Benítez."

The midfielder says the Spaniard, who left Liverpool to manage Internazionale, never treated him with respect he felt he deserved.

"If I played well, I never felt he gave me credit," he told the News of the World.

"When I scored, I still expected to be out of the team the next game. On two occasions early last season, against Fulham and Lyon, the fans booed when I was subbed. They thought I was playing well but Benítez told me he was surprised the fans booed because I was not good enough.

"He tried to destroy my confidence. You can't treat a player like this and expect him to be happy.""

Lol, why is everyone still yapping about how Aquilani didnt want to play for us, let me tell you people who arent familiar with Italian players, when they join a club, they intend to stay at it and prove a point before they decide to move. The reason, and this is even what almost every journalist has said is that KK has openly said that Aquilani does not feature in his plans and that is the reason he is leaving, not rubbish like he is fed up of england... {Ed002's Note - You have no idea at all. Sorry.}

I personally dont blame Yossi for leaving in the first place... We demand that our players are loyal, but we should show some back. I remember him getting hat tricks and then didnt even figure on the bench for the next few games. I was annoyed how he was treated and dont blame him for leaving. Im not saying I want him back or anything, but I do think he can still do a good job. Last years injury was horrendous, and I feel for him.

Why are half the people on this site so thick?

It's been made quite clear, numerous times, that Yossi left because of Rafa.

It's not a difficult thing to grasp.

SSN report that Poulson is too stressed to play of Denmark at the moment!
Would a way for a unwanted player to relax be, taking a cut in your wages which you are obviously not worth, moving to a club/level which you are suited to and stop punching above your weight? (just admit it never worked out!)

I'm too stressed worrying that he's going to be here in September, so serves him right, the greasy headed quim.

God help the lad! Massively overpaid for doing nothing and he's stressed. I think you've summed the situation up perfectly!

"Greasy headed quim"...!!!!!!!

Just suffered a hernia over that one.

Dr S.Atire.

Can't quite believe why we bought him in the first place. He'd be better off going to a much slower league, because his legs had clearly gone during the last World Cup.

Hodgson said he was one of his ten players to watch, which said it all really. But I watched as Poulsen got taken to the cleaners by the collective might of the Japanese midfielders Endo, Matsui & Honda. He was hopeless and Denmark lost 3-1.

As a defensive midfielder he can't get close or run fast enough to making tackle. The Danish Glacier is a complete waste of time and precious cash...

Poulsen needs to be offloaded. Has anyone noticed all of Hodgy's signings are gone basically. Raul is only left.

Anything in the Ryad Boudebouz rumours?

Why not make a bid for Florent Malouda, after all we were interested before he went to C***Sea

Wouldn't rather bid for a player like Stevan Jovetic, than an overpriced ageing player like Malouda.

maka

He would be a great signing, should defo bid, maybe us raul as part of the deal

That was when he was 4yrs younger though!!!!!!

Too old and would want too much wages.
AL

Good signing get real hes to old his best years are behind him

Malouda's 32 next birthday so why A.Break the club policy of buying young players and B.Pay for a player past his best who will want BIG wages.

Please try to keep up with whats happening at our club. There is a revolution taking place to right all the years of bad Management and neglect of the Liverpool Way that was set down by Bill Shankly
We will not sign overpayed or over aged players.
We want younger keener players that can be coached to play the Liverpool Way.

Ive heard rumours that Dirk Kuyt could be leaving us this summer to Inter Milan? He is a quality player and gave us 100% week in week out but he is getting older now and if we get an offer i would take it. He doesnt really have a finished product he just runs all game

Averages around 14 goals a year. Fairly decent return for a striker playing right wing. Still first choice for holland. World ranking #1. seems like he's done well for someone that just runs around a lot.
Swish

Do people forget the goals he has scored for us? He is a poacher and gets them when we need them most. Remember Dirk is a striker naturally and we have been playing him on the right wing. If he is older then play him up front, which I thought was the plan anyway. He is quality and unlike a lot of footballers these days, he cares about our club!

I hope he'll stay until he retires. Great football player - A legend to this club.

I admit he runs and works hard for the team but he would be a better player if he learnt to control the ball better and stopped giving it away all the time.

Great team player and a real credit to his profession. A wonderful role model to the younger players coming through at our Club. I say keep him.
kidmillions

Totally agree with kidmillions. Kuyt is definitely deserving of the shirt..... Hat trick Vs Man Ure ring any bells??

25 Aug 2011 15:31:09
What are the chances of Benayoun and Bellamy coming? Ive heard that we could get them both for free because Chelsea and Man City have bought players what have took their places and they are not needed. Since Aqua and El Zhar have gone that would have freed up some wages for us. Hopefully Cole will leave and thats another 90k or so a week for us. But what are the chances of meireles staying? He was our best player last season and got us the win against Arsenal, he deserves to stay. He's good enough

Agree with everything youve said,good post

25 Aug 2011 15:27:39
Aqualani gone according to some papers.
Shame we couldn't sell him.

LAVERS

If he is fit, he is pretty much gone to Milan. They are obliged to buy him if Aquilani plays 20 + games this season, that's including matches in cups and Champions League.

Does anybody knows what would be the fee after this loan spell is completed and he manages to fulfill that 25 games clause?? Ed?

VM YNWA {Ed002's Note - 6M euro spread over two years. You have to make deductions from that for a contribution to his wages for the first year and for a payment to Roma. You should also perhaps take account of a further 5M euro the club have just paid Roma as well.}

Was a bad mistake signing him

25 Aug 2011 15:16:15
just watched sky sports news, and not a mention of the Coates possible transfer.

There was. Brain Swanson did his transfer piece earlier on and talked about it quite alot.

He said that the fee had been agreed and he was on his way for a medical.

I heard about the sebastian deal at the weekend and told my friends on facebook only one believed me but from what i understand it is a done deal the only stumbling block could be work permit unless kenny is going to put him straight into the starting 11

25 Aug 2011 15:15:06
Nacional have allowed Sebastian Coates to fly to liverpool for a medical! Looks like he is coming guys, just a matter of hours! Confirmed by so many journalists and also their Manager and has confirmed it too.

25 Aug 2011 15:10:59
West Ham have asked Liverpool about the possibility of signing Christian Poulson on loan. Liverpool have turned this down because they want him to leave permantley and West Ham can't afford to pay all his wages. It looks as though a move abroad (possibly free transfer) will be the only way to get him off the wage bill.

Peter Parker

25 Aug 2011 15:07:41
The national official site. has a report in spanish. I used google to translate:

"I will return. We are proud to have been able to wear the national jersey" Sebastian Coates said goodbye this afternoon. Wednesday of his companions? eros in the Grand Central Park. Coates travel? by ma? ana on Thursday for England to close the pass and have the test medical. Coates had his? Last workout in the park and was cheered by all.

E.D.

what are the chances of Yossi Benayoun signing????
I believe Macca said that move was dead

Is Craig Bellamy deal likely at this stage?? Would be a great buy in my eyes

Sebastian Coates seems like a good player from what i saw at the Copa America

Great times ahead for Liverpool

LFC'S MANGO {Ed002's Note - Benayoun is more likely to sign for Roma than Liverpool. Bellamy looks like it is down to money.}

Isnt everything ED ;) lol

DMT07

Dont disagree ed.buy dont get these players,lfc be a lifeline for bellamy,surely.yould think theyd have enough cash,and just grab maybe last chance at top

Why do we want bellamy back. He claimed to be a liverpool fan when he came last time and really did nothing to remember on the pitch. Off it, he was his usual self - trouble. Why bring this type of player who could potentially unsettle a young squad and cause trouble, and bring nothing that we don't have already. I'd keep Cole over getting Bellamy.

25 Aug 2011 14:17:21
Roma offer striker Borriello to Liverpool

AS Roma have offered striker Marco Borriello to Liverpool.

Il Tempo says Borriello, who has been put up for sale by Roma this week, has rejected an offer from Fulham.

Determined to clear him off the books, Roma made contact with Liverpool about the striker's availability.

Liverpool did not shut the door, but told Roma to wait while the Reds pursue Manchester City attacker Craig Bellamy.

Source tribalfootball

Record not bad in last 3 seasons not sure of wage demands but could do worse

Don't want another italian at Anfield, they've never settled and done well

They probably thought, what mugs can we sell a player to that we don't want for an extortionate fee, "I remember Liverpool"

I can't even believe that we are considering taking another Italian player after Aquilani. This rumour is already dead in the water.

BooDaBooze

You can't assume every Italian player will behave like Aquilani did. It's like saying every English footy fan is a hooligan .
Remember Di Canio', Zola, Even Ravannelli , Roberto Di Mateo? All done well in PL.
I would have thought that it is unlikely to happen anyway, but that LFC along with every other club whom they have a relationship with will be alerted to his availability.
As for mugs , not with Kenny in charge.
Ta!

I've just looked at his stats on wiki and they're not bad - tho he has had a few clubs - he is 29 so his age is against him somewhat given our current transfer 'policy' (which seems to have been forgotten). I also think his wages could be a stumbling block.

25 Aug 2011 14:15:59
Bleacher reports Kenny is still looking at young talent for the future and says we are ready to make a bid for Parma starlet Danilo Pereira.
Any news on him eds?

Well tell him to look at Liam Tomsett at Blackpool. First year pro...the boy has class.

Oh god not another Pee poor Italian!Dont do it Kenny,leave him in his native country.
You can count on one hand,and still have fingers left the amount of good Italians,that have come over to England and played well.Stay well away.

He's not Italian, Nuggett.
Just because he plays for an Italian team. Have you ever been abroad? There's America, Europe , China, ....

ed are the rumours about davide santon concrete

el pistolero {Ed002's Note - This belongs on the Newcastle page of course, but he is not keen on leaving Italy.}

Why on Earth would Davide Santon, the promising Italian wing back, want to move to NEWCASTLE UNITED, of all places?!

Maybe Ed002 belongs on the chelsea page......lol {Ed002's Note - As I said, he is not keen on moving away from Italy, but Newcastle are keen on him.}

25 Aug 2011 13:15:24
Hey Ed, just curious is there any truth in the reported interest in the young brazilian attacking midfielder Oscar ?? {Ed002's Note - I would not read too much in to it at the moment.}

25 Aug 2011 13:15:00
Been told from an old friend in the know who says Bellamy and Benayoun are the two last targets of the window (Coates is done). The Bellamy deal looks very likely and shouldn't be too long until it's completed. Although the Benayoun deal does look a lot harder due to Chelsea's stubborness over selling to rivals. If Benayoun isn't bought then expect a potential last minute swap deal between Spurs and us over Cole and Krancjar.

YNWA

This would be very good business if it happens.

Good mates with macca are you?

Dont see chavskis prob,bennys hardly integral to them.their players wrote us off in media

Krancjar inconsistant,but dunno why-feel hed do well for us

25 Aug 2011 12:46:30
Ed, do you think Joe Cole will still be a Liverpool player by the end of this transfer window?? {Ed002's Note - I don't know. If a deal can be struck for him to move elsewhere then I suspect he will take it rather than turn it down.}

Spurs rumours re suefacing again for him.q.p.rs aint gone away either

25 Aug 2011 12:41:01
With Chelsea going for Mata, does this perhaps mean Benayoun will be easier to get because he will drop down the pecking order and become 'unsettled'? Just a thought.
RED LENIN {Ed002's Note - Chelsea will let Benayoun leave.}

And why would we want him back?

25 Aug 2011 12:40:33
Ed a couple of questions for you.

Do you think it will be Bellamy or Benayoun or both we will go for and is it a credible source/rumours? Not a fan of either as Benayoun slagged us off n Bellamy is a bad influence and would cause problems. 9 clubs since 2000?!

With the Greek gone is Wilson now ready to step up or do you think he will go on loan?

And finally do you think Cole wants to leave or is he being pushed out? Seems a shame to me as he has never really been given a chance.

Thanks

Brownie YNWA

Superb site and efforts by Ed's {Ed002's Note - (1) The intention appears to be both but money will be key to both. (2) I think a loan is a good possibility. (3) I think he would be happy to stay and fight for his place - but I suspect he has been told he can look for another club.}

Why do we want bellamy hes had more clubs than tiger woods

It always makes me laugh when someone says a player wasn't given a chance. How can this be so? Players are given a chance day in/day out in practice sessions to prove they are up to the challenge. Cole is flat and uninspiring. I think he'd be a great squad player to keep if it wasn't for his inflated wages.

dbn

If you knew owt about football you would know the difference between practice sessions and a competetive match dbn. I was just sayin that he aint had much game time, aquaman prob played more than cole? I agree with you re squad player if he would drop his wages.

Cole ,could not even make the squad for last night thats how sugar he is now. (if he is injured i dont want to know, putting my fingers in my ears lalalalllalla)

Coles had chances.will be limited at any top club.aint done it!

On the Wilson front, a loan remains a distinct possibility but there is a risk with the Coates move (mainly - work permit) so I suspect that there won't be any news until that deal gets signed (and we may not hear officially about Coates until the WP is done)

Dawkins

Yossi never slagged us off, he slagged Benitez, and I believed it to be justified

25 Aug 2011 12:15:17
Liverpool have offered £2mil for Yossi Benayoun, ( chelsea want £4mil) and LFC will wait to see what happens with Bellamy, they are hoping to get him on a free transfer. Seb Coates will be a Liverpool player by Monday.

Mikka

Meet chavski in middle?-3m?

25 Aug 2011 12:10:09
Liverpool have asked to loan Craig Bellamy for the season and will pay upto half his wages. Rather than sign him out right.
Felix de Souza

25 Aug 2011 11:51:09
Joe Cole to be released from his contract this weekend,then he will join Fulham on £40 grand a week,with the pay-off from Liverpool and the wage Fulham will pay him,he will be more or less on £130 grand a week,and poeple say there not in the game for the money. {Ed002's Note - He is owed what is left of his signing on fee by Liverpool regardless of any deal over wages.}

Ed with meireles injured and cole +aqua being sold do you think we will buy an attacking mid? If so who do you see as possible? Is honda still an option? {Ed002's Note - There was interest in Benayoun so there might be some movement in that area. I very much doubt Honda will be considered.}

Cole will have his contract payed off,its the only way we can get rid of him,no one wants to buy him,or pay half his wages to take him on loan.

hi eds, read and watched with interest regarding the current coates saga, i hope we do get him, but has it been made public that it's us he is having this so called medical with? or are some of these posts jumping the gun. I work nights so I am usually a bit tired when catching up with posts so sorry if i am asking old questions

nice one
foginspector {Ed002's Note - It seems likely he will be joining.}

Ed so why are people saying dann will join us do u have anything concrete on that.....................RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - I don't know why people are saying it.}

25 Aug 2011 11:04:15
Eds, do you think Meireles' injury means any chance of him leaving have been scuppered? Looking for the silver lining in the cloud, if it does, at least it gives us a little more time to renegotiate his contract before rumours of him leaving in January start surfacing. {Ed002's Note - I guess so.}

Keep him!sort his issues.most consistant midfielder at mo

ed atletico are selling forlan for 5million euros,couldnt we tempt him with suarez and coates+ decent wages {Ed002's Note - This was dealt with yesterday, and more than once.}

25 Aug 2011 10:43:56
ed do u think adam johnson will sign for lfc; if not, why not? plz reply {Ed002's Note - No. Liverpool have not made a bid for the player.}

25 Aug 2011 10:32:59
ed is there a chance of signing gio dos santos from spurs, fits in with the policy and would certainly fit in as a back-up striker, he is a top player after i saw him play in concacaf gold cup. and wat r the chances papiss cisse, he's a monster and can't stop scoring {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath for either player.}

25 Aug 2011 10:28:22
Ed is it true that Coates has a spanish passport? or will he have to apply for a work permit as its being suggested? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know what passport he has.}

I believe he qualifies for a spanish passport through his mother - however, does not hold one

Cheers

JAmie

Correct! although he may get his visa under the 'exceptional talent' loophole. either way, it should not be a problem. just may take longer with the passport route.

Is Bellamy any closer to agreeing a settlement with Man City to allow him to move to Liverpool?

Cheers {Ed002's Note - It is in hand I understand.}

Craig Bellamy will be another Joe Cole. Was good player, past his best and his wages will be unjustified. Hope this is a smokescreen. Red or Dead

Bellemy is effective, he hasn't lost his pace and offers far more intelligent attacking pace than cole

Yes he offers pace, exactly the thing we are craving. Not sure about Bellamy but I trust in Kenny

25 Aug 2011 10:26:07
Bellamy to sign by Monday. Negotiations on his contract pay off with Man City are protracted due to the huge amount involved (he earns just under £5m a year and has 2 years to run). He will join Liverpool on a free though publicly an undisclosed fee statement will be announced to keep the pay off amount quiet. Great signing as a back up striker - still has lightening pace, sharp finishing, dead ball quality and can play on the left. KK does it again.

Is this serious about bellamy.can u please answer {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

"Pay offs" are ALWAYS kept quiet.Even when a transfer fee is announced the public never learns how much of a player's contract is paid up to him.

He is a petulant idiot with no self control and totally self centred. It makes me sad that this scumbag has worn a red shirt let alone going to be wearing one again.

I read, although its not confirmed, that he has a Uraguyan passport, and has yet to make the required number of games to automatically qualify for a work permit. However there is a clause if the player in question is of 'exceptional talent' and it is under this that they hoping to secure a work permit, quite who decides who at the Home Office exceptional talent i dont know, but that's what i heard !

WilloLFC {Ed002's Note - It is not decided on footballing grounds by the Home Office but under recommendation from The FA.}

Kk has done what again? this is why we won`t win the league for a while when we are happy spending £35m on players like carroll or getting no marks like bellamy back.

ED, can you please tell me if these rumors regarding Bryan Ruiz have legs?? It seems the club are linked with a new player every week...

Danny {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any Bryan Ruiz rumours. Unless you are Fulham, Spurs or Leverkusen fan.}

I know Bryan Ruiz has legs, if that helps?

No eds this is true - Bryan Ruiz definitely does have legs. He'd be a s**t footballer if he didn't

Ed 002 Whats the situation on Bellamy?? We have released the like of Jobva and Nabil .. Does he fall in the same category for City?
And lastly do you reckon he still has a couple of years left as a back up forward??

goala {Ed002's Note - Bellamy has no future at Manchester City and Macca has said a return to Liverpool is on the cards. My understanding is that this is likely to happen.}

Was at the Exeter game last night and when the team first arrive they were signing match programmes and a lad asked KK on the situation with Bellers and he just smiled and said we will see how things go mmmm

I look forward to the Fulham game...lets just hope that there are no golf clubs handy!

Lets hope there's no bellamy, he's sh..e

Lets hope there's no bellamy, he's sh..e

The BBC's McNutty has just given this rumour further credence. I stand by my earlier comments, but if CB is indeed the returning familiar face that KD hinted at a while ago, then it suggests that there may be some 'personal' connection between the two, which might just mitigate the Welshman's attitudinal issues. I suppose he potentially can cover a few attacking positions, but he wouldn't be my choice. Still, what do I know.

Separately, Bryan Ruiz was a Woy target, wasn't he?

Dawkins

Good back up for Suarez

He's definitely not s**te. He's free and will add a lot of pace to the squad. get him in.

This will be a great signing on a free. I'm sure he will bring more than pace to our team. His free kicks will also add to our play.

Evening Eds

Question for Ed002 in particular, as she seems to know a lot about French football (no offense to the other Eds)

Where will be Marvin Martin be playing this coming season? Is there interest from any big clubs?

From what I've seen, he looks seriously good, and there are rumours that Wenger is looking at him to replace Fabregas.

Hope this isnt true, and that he stays at Sochaux for another season, then hopefully we can try and get him next season

Thanks

Quackers {Ed002's Note - I think that the only choices are the two you mention - Sochaux or possibly Arsenal. I suspect he will stay in France.}

Is Ed002 a girl? Sorry, i'm not trying to be rude...

I just read in the independant that lfc are prepared to pay off joe cole,s wages so he can join tottenham surelly this cant be right cole must be on 90 grand a week wwith 3 years left on his contract thats quite a few milllions why would we be paying him off surely sppurs can afford a small transfer fee there must be interest in him from some where do you know of any serious interest in joe cole I. Would have thought some one would want him and do you believe we will really pay off his remaining salary that would be madness
giblet {Ed002's Note - Liverpool would certainly need to pay off the remainder of his signing on fee. Perhaps that is what they are referring to.}

Of course Joe Cole is wanted,off the bloody wage bill!

What ever happened to us selling players rather than just give them away for free? Like, I appreciate wanting to get the salary off the books, but surely we have now sent the message out to the rest of world football that they no longer need to cough up a transfer fee if they want to sign any of our fringe players. Seems like madness.

25 Aug 2011 08:21:20
Croatian websites also report that if Modric stays in Tottenham, Kranjcar is going to be sold and the most likely option is Liverpool with Joe Cole going other way. Other option is Lazio.

I seriously hope not!

Adam Johnson signing IS a possibility, however not until at least January.

RuncornRed

The ONLY way that City would sell him to us is if we are no threat so i hope we dont get him in that case as it means we would be 5th or 6th!

Absolute crap

No chance! Man City wouldnt sell to a club that are competing for the top 4! If i had to hazard a guess i think KK wants Glen Johnson on the right wing with Dirk as back up but time will tell!

Runcorn Red! (The Original) :)

So we are selling Downing then ........

Man i was in Runcorn only yesterday, it is a grim old place. frailers is good though..

..no chance of Johnson joining us at any point this season, maybe next season if man citys pursuit of everyone who plays football doesn't stop.

Oh well we'll wait and see then A! what a crap post, why would you be apsed mate.

Again people incapable of reading.

I said Adam Johnson is a possibility in January. I didn't say he would be signing or is nailed on etc.

Feel sorry for the eds sometimes. Someone passes you information and people go insane.

RuncornRed

I agree with "Runcorn Red", you post a rumour that could be quite genuine and get flack for it in return.

Would love to see Adam Johnson sign and personally I can't see why everone thinks it is so unlikely - Mancini doesn't want him there!! If they don't rate him then why would they have a problem selling him to a rival?

Adam

Liverpool are interested in a swap deal with Joe Cole joining spurs in exchange for Giovani Dos Santos who will be a right winger/backup striker......

Dos Santos is a former Commoli signing...and someone he still rates since his displays for Mexico

YNWA

Already on loan somewhere

I think that boy is great and we wld be great with him in our team. but what abt Rodallega?? and what happened with our interest in vargas? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have Enrique and Downing - there is no need for Vargas.}

I rate Giovanni Dos santos, and would love to see him in a red shirt and given a proper chance to show the world how talented he actually is!

Santos Movment is much better then Cole hope this happen.

Harry 'Rubber faced' Redknapp once said about Dos Santos.'If he could pass a night club as good as he could pass a ball,he would be terrific!'Great im sure he would link up well with Carroll,should he arrive!

Joe Cole would join brentford to get away from Liverpool.

This would be exciting if true - I have been following Gio since the Mexican side won the fifa U 17's world cup with him and vela, this would top off the summer = and he will have a re sell value!!!!

The player has discipline issues. his arrival to liverpool is not going to happen.

By the way, is the first person that replied to the original post suggesting we try to sign Santos, Rodallega and Vargas? Seriously?

You gotta love Harry Redknapp.

Top player, ed002 do u thin we will get him {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it.}

Top player, ed002 do u thin we will get him {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it.}

No that's not what i meant.
if i may be blunt, i feel we are to robotic without suarez and need some flair that's why i meantioned all those latinos. they are creative. we need more than one guy and raul is injured now so we need some else to do that who is not british.

Give Joe Cole another chance,we can afford £90 grand a week,and he's not one of these Johnny foriegners.

He's not on loan. i'd love to have him i remember watching a barca match saw him for the first time and he took the free kick and scored an amazing goal

From Nacional's website:

"Sebastián Coates se despidió por la tarde del miércoles de sus compañeros en el Gran Parque Central. Coates viajará por la mañana del jueves rumbo a Inglaterra para cerrar su pase y tener la prueba médica. Coates tuvo su último entrenamiento en el Parque y se fue ovacionado por todos"

"Sebastian Coates said goodbye Wednesday afternoon by their colleagues in the Grand Central Park. Coates will travel Thursday morning for England to finish the transfer and have the medical. Coates had his last workout in the park and was cheered by all."

It is true this is on the website, but nowhere does it mention Liverpool.

Could it be another club ?

Hey Ed, Ben Smith of the Times said on twitter that Ryad Boudebouz is the fall back option should the bellamy move fall through. Have you heard of any interest in him of late?

Thanks
Amz {Ed001's Note - no I haven't sorry.}

Hope so, he looks a smart player!

It should actually be the other way round buddy, why settle for an old player when the younger better one is within sights???..
