Hi guys, just wondering if there's any interest in any either Mignolet or even Karius from anyone? Also if Manninger were to retire would there be a more senior goalkeeper signed for 3rd choice, or would Ward come in to compete for number 2? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest in either and I can't see DW wanting to be third choice.}

There is no way DW should be third choice, I forgot we even signed Manninger until he was mentioned recently! Hopefully Huddersfield will be promoted and he can go on loan again for a year.

{Ed002's Note - I think that would be a great solution for all concerned. However, it is worth noting that Huddersfiedl have already enquired about Alex Smithies as a replacement.}

I agree I think another loan for DW would be best for all, even better if it going to be a prem club and getting prem game time experience. According to the echo tho DW will stay at LFC next season and compete with mignolet and karius. Seems a massive mistake to me, I only see him as no3 next season which will massively stump his development.

Hi Ed's

I know there is a lot of talk of in's now we are all weak at the knees with the possibilty of offering champions league to our targets!

but i would be really interested in hearing a summary of our loaned players this year:

Danny Ward (Huddersfield Town)
Ryan Fulton (Chesterfield)
Ryan Kent (Barnsley)
Allan Rodrigues (Hertha Berlin)
Jon Flanagan (Burnley)
Lloyd Jones (Swindon Town)
Taiwo Awoniyi (NEC Nijmegen)
Andre Wisdom (Red Bull Salzburg)
Lazar Markovic (Hull City)
Pedro Chirivella (Go Ahead Eagles)
Cameron Brannagan (Fleetwood Town)
Jack Dunn (Tranmere Rovers)
Mamadou Sakho (Crystal Palace)
Brooks Lennon (Real Salt Lake)

Not detail (unless you want to haha) of how they did and whether they have a future at the club and what they should do for their own futures.

I know i ask a lot but you are just so good at giving such well rounded views on players I can't not ask.

p. s i flirt with you slightly in the hope this may appease any possible rejection of this request!

{Ed001's Note - Ward is probably going to go back out on loan for the season. He did well at Huddersfield and could well go back there for next season, if they get promotion. They would like to make the deal permanent either way, but are not keen on any kind of buy back clause in the contract.
Fulton I am not sure how he got on to be honest but the plan is for another loan.
Kent is an interesting one, looks likely to leave in the summer, he has not done enough to earn a place at Liverpool, though he does show flashes of quality.
Allan has issues getting a work permit. He is very well liked by Klopp, but we can't use him so his future is up in the air. Most likely another loan spell.
Flanagan is likely to be sold.
Jones is another likely to be sold. He has not progressed well.
Awoniyi is in the balance. The right loan offer will see him go back out on loan, but the club like the idea of giving him some time around the first team in training, so he might well stay.
Wisdom is up for sale.
Markovic is available for sale.
Chirivella is likely to go back on loan for the season.
Branagan is available for transfer.
Dunn is also for sale.
Sakho is for sale still.
Lennon I don't know about, I will have to ask. I had completely forgotten about the lad with him being outside of Europe.}

Anyone seen much of Allan to say how good he looks? Is he really that impressive?

Thanks!

interesting point on Owoniyi, guess he is something we don't really have upfront so would be good to see how it plays in and around the team.

I would like to see kent at least given a chance in the pre-season see how he does as he is only 20 and so has lots of time on his hands!

I feel chirivella will have come on leaps and bonds playing for a the eagles, i would like to see him loaned to another eredevise club again (preferable somewhere higher up the table)

Allan, i am hoping another season at hertha, he will become more of a regular in the team, so even if he doesn't get the chance to play for us he will develop nicely!

Such a shame about flanagan. Once dubbed "the successor" by Cafu. Is there definatly no way back for the lad? We crying out for full backs at the mo, will he get another chance or was the injury the end for him at liverpool?

{Ed001's Note - if he had performed well on loan then he would have got another chance.}

24 May 2017 10:17:39
Yes spose your right ed001, if he can't get in the burnley team not much chance of getting in our side.

Awoniyi is one of the players who doesn't have a work permit and doesn't qualify for one at the moment I think. His loan spell in Netherlands has seen him make no progress either.

re Flannagan

Part of the issue with him was fitness and it looked like he survived a year of training without significant injury because he seemed to be on the bench every match. But virtually no game time, so we don't know whether he is able now to game after game after game; he wasn't before he left on loan though.

On quality, yes he wasn't able to replace the incumbent right-back but, if that guy was playing well and keeping his fitness, that is a hard thing for a loanee to do.

I hope Klopp takes a long hard look at him before selling before before his injury I always thought he did well going forward.

Can't we "do a Grujic" and get Awoniyi a work permit?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its wierd ron, they let terrorists in and jihadi,s who have been fighting our armed forces in syria, yet they wont let a lad coming to work here past the gate, this bloody country is getting worse..

😄 I wasn't expecting that.
