Evening Eds

Not really a fan of throwing random names out there, so apologies, but I think I'm right in saying we were interested in David Brooks of Bournemouth in the past. Do you know if we have a declared interest this summer?

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. But there is interest from elsewhere.}

Evenings Ed’s, a question within a question within a question if you wouldn’t mind sharing your opinion. If Liverpool can’t finalise a deal for Thiago and the we keep the midfield as is, would you expect the attention to turn to cover on the left and ST? If so, have Liverpool any interest in Marcus Thuram of Monchengladbach? Is he within the clubs budget? And speaking of Budget, what is the budget for players at the moment? you hear about clubs having ‘£50, 60m to spend in the summer’ realistically, what’s your estimates on Liverpool’s?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is difficult to see how the midfield can remain the same if Thiago is added. The club has been clear that space need to be made and money raised. Thuram is not a player Liverpool have been considering and I cannot imagine would be open to siting on the bench. Liverpool need to sell to buy - although perhaps a little more can be found - perhaps they should be fearful of changing a winning solution too much.}

I think a summer window of Tsimikas, Thiago and a versatile forward like Rashica would represent a very good window for LFC. With the fixture congestion next season, we need 15-16 first team players rather than just 11 to rotate without the levels dropping off too much. The above 3 are big improvements on the players they will be replacing and too without breaking the bank (provided we get decent money for Grujic, Wilson, Shaq, Origi, Karius etc.

ed002 do you know when Mbappe and Sancho will be signing I thought they was both nailed on.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A Chelsea reject and a Chelsea supporter.}

24 Aug 2020 23:40:59
I for one would be quite happy with buzzers signings and outings I think it would strengthen the squad and hopefully not break the budget. To be honest I would be happy with just Thiago and Taimikas and give Brewster a chance in the cup completions and against lower table oppositions.

I would love players like Havertz and Werner and In a perfect world a first team CB but the team we currently have destroyed the league this year and it’s not exactly an old squad so I’m sure we will be fine in our steady boat while most other clubs are having to rebuild.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - I would also like others would prefer Thiago, a CB and a decent striker/wide forward and I’d be very very happy with that. Sales and the COVID economy will decree of course

If Thiago is signed, it would provide the option for Fabinho to play Centre Back, which may be needed with Lovren leaving and Matip’s injury proneness.

Mbappe a Chelsea reject eh? That's one you wouldn't want to brag about 🙈🙈.

While I do like rashica I'd prefer a pacy player who can beat a man. Doku/ Stefanovic would be my picks. I been watching sarr recently as we get linked a lot. He is right footed and I personally think he would do extremely well in our system on the lw. I speak purely talent and style wise. From a price and afcon perspective I think others such as mentioned would be better choices.

Why put Fabinho at CB just to accommodate Thiago. Not a good shout that, look at Fernandinho / city . Not for me mate, would rather do without Thiago if that was the case.

Eds,
Reports in the media today have suggested that Barcelona are going to terminate Luis Suarez’s contract.
No sure how accurate the rumours are but can you see Liverpool interested if he is available on a free?
Thanks again for all your hard work.
Let’s hope we get Thiago over the line.

{Ed002's Note - No, he won't be moving to Liverpool.}

Anybody got any advice for getting vomit stains out if clothes? I visualized Suarez in the new jersey for a split second and had an accident.

Why would you touch an idiot that tried to take the club to court?

Why would we be interested in that rat!

There are actually fans that wouldn't mind the likes of coutinho or suarez back and I just don't get it. One wanted to leave so bad he bit someone and the other paid 10m to help move. Am I missing something.

Was the best player I’ve ever seen play for us up close but he’s a rat good luck to him!

You have to respect the thoughts of all fans
Don’t ridicule these types of fans educate them on why it is probably best not to have these types of players coming back to our wonderful club.

I will admit i loved Suarez and Coutinho and feared their departures, but we have grown, partly as a result of them both leaving. It will be interesting to see where both end up (i think Coutinho back to Barça, who knows with Suarez) but only in the same way Messi potentially leaving is interesting.

Suarez and Cou? Nah, that is SO 2014. We've moved on.

Ignoring what happened before he left (which I know is hard) - but why would we pay massive wages to a player whose knees are gone and is no longer the player we saw. On a side note - there doesn't seem to have been any incidents whilst he has been at Barcelona - is this because they've been kept out of the press or has he grown up?

{Ed0666's Note - It’s his dream club mate why would he cause a fuss

Hi Ed's, Der Spigiel, whoever they are say that its certain that Thiago is now heading to liverpool. Have you heard anything new? Desperate for this one to be finalised. Great signing. Thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool would need to agree a transfer fee with Bayern Munich, agree a deal with the player, international paperwork would need to be dealt with and a medical passed. Then they can say that.}

24 Aug 2020 11:44:33
Thank you. Are we or have we started discussions with the club yet?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich made it clear they were unhappy with the illegal approach to one of their players and Liverpool formally declared an interest. They have spoken with two other sides about Thiago but Liverpool will likely now look to have a discussion with them. This has all been explained.}

24 Aug 2020 13:16:38
Thanks ed, I had seen that you said BM had complained but not that we had declared an interest. Sounds like we will hopefully move it forward now then. Thanks.

Ed what's happens if the player wants the Interested club but the owning club won’t entertain talks with the interested club?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - If the club refuse to sell then nothing.}

24 Aug 2020 16:48:05
I still don’t think the club will spend 25 to 30m on a 29 old, don’t forget will still need another central defender that’s probably going to cost between 15 and 20m, no way we have the money to spend over 50m this summer.

Redman 1, Klopp may be keen on getting Thiago than getting a CB to be 4th choice cos the first choice option of D. Carlos ain't happening. Klopp may think that Thiago is more of a priority than getting a 4th choice CB cos all else fails Nat Phillips could be promoted to 4th choice. Just a thought.

Red Meister fingers crossed your right as he would be an amazing signing but can’t help thinking klopp wants him more than the Liverpool board do.

any of the eds have any inside oil about what Thiago wants? would he be willing to see out his contract at bayern to get a move to Liverpool in a year's time?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - would Liverpool want him at 31 and make such a gargantuan investment? Signing on fee, agent fees, salary etc.

25 Aug 2020 08:48:45
"Der Spigiel, whoever they are. " Really? You never heard of Der Spigiel? 😳.

Ed0666 he wouldn't be 31. Thiago will only be turning 30 by the end of next season so I'm bemused by the constant feeling amongst us that he's only got a year or 2 left in him at best. If we pay 25 mil this summer we could realistically get the next 3 or 4 years from him by the time he's finishing a season at 32 yrs old. Why wait a year and miss out on world class calibre who's available and eager to join now. We spent 35mil on AOC when he could have been free following year. But he was vital in games his first season towards repaying our investment and thiago hungry to prove himself in England after winning everything possible in Spain and Germany could be dying to hit top form this season instead of winding down his contract for another year at a club he's just won everything available and a year with lack of hunger and getting a year older. He's not staying at bayern so makes no sense that we would wait for him next summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - I’m assuming the logic in waiting a year would be to save the transfer fee mate. But I’m only for Thiago coming if Gini is leaving otherwise the transfer doesn’t make sense in a broken economy.

Hi Eds love following your page.

Can we gave an updated ins and ours list like you have done for the other pages thanks a lot!

{Ed002's Note - Sure but it won't be until later in the week.}

This week we will start seeing more clues to transfer plans I think. All clubs now getting into heavy prepping for season ahead, some recent activity giving us info on what type of player clubs need. Harry Wilson might see interest develop this week and possibly thiago now finished his season we could make our move. Keita and Brewster looking very much in klopps plans. Injury to OX and gini contract situations might give us more clarity in the near future.
